What is it with like white women and using indigenous designs as their own and the obsession with turquoise? Like genuinely so curious you’re just whitewashing it.

“America has no culture” is an inherently racist statement. Especially when talking about California, which has enormous populations (yes, plural) of Hispanic and Asian immigrants.
It’s such a self report that you see the American hegemony, the American monolith, as a singularly white entity that’s worthy of scorn. I want that person to look at the Black American NYC Miku design and tell me with their full chest that that isn’t culture. Especially when modern pop culture owes so much to Black American culture — hip hop, language, streetwear and fashion, pop music, jazz — as is actively erasing their roots, saying all of America has no culture is a dumbass statement.
Also, “all the US Mikus are dressed in generic casual street style for coolish weather.” The original Brazilian Miku is wearing sunglasses, a crop top, short shorts, a bikini, and flip flops you absolute dunce. If you’re gonna be rude at least be consistent.

Research shows that these techniques can help prevent the need for air conditioning, the long-range transport of building materials and concrete production, all of which contribute to the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions driving the climate crisis.

waking up from surgery🩸
the memory i have of it is so vivid & i'll never forget it as long as i live - i remember slowly coming into being, huffing in and out rapidly, feeling fire on my chest and crying all at once. it felt literally like i was finally newly born, like my life before was just in gestation.
happy pride month!

When it comes to textured hair there’s many styles, here some I’ve seen at powwows. Braided locs have to be my favorite style so far 💖
(Edit)- i didn’t communicate this very well but this is a merging of cultures. Culturally/traditionally no we didn’t have cornrows/locs these are black hairstyles, and then mixed with our hairstyles because of the influence of Afro indigenous people (the two braids)💖 having two braids for some regalia is very important and so these are hairstyles I’ve seen Afro natives wear for powwows. Not saying two pigtails are just a native thing but cultural context is important

Reminder braids are not a universal hairstyle between tribes! I’m coming from the perspective of Great Plains tribes. I just thought I might share what braided hair means to my community and people. I see people trying to make ocs or redesigns of characters who are native but don’t actually represent us too good. Reminder to always research a tribe before making a character learn their protocols and at least try to learn something new! 🌸💖🍇

I just wanna say I love our hair! It means so much to us please take care of it🥺💖

Tipua: the wrath of Ngārara...
...has just hours to go and is around $1000 NZ/$600 USD from its funding goal!
Support indigenous TTRPG design and get access to a cool spin on the Fate system in the process. The game and its setting are steeped in tikanga and te ao Māori: Tipua is set on the distant planet of Karito—a vast, labyrinthine world where tangled rivers wind through swampy wetlands, shadowy forests, ancient pā (fortification sites), and the mysterious portals known as Ngā Pūmotomoto. For those of you who have experienced the wonders of Aotearoa and Te Wai Pounamu, you will see some obvious similarities.
It's so affordable too. $20 NZ (about 12 USD) nabs you the digital rulebook and printable custom Fate tokens, as well as a social media shout out and access to the backers discord.
If nothing else: please have a read of the Kickstarter and share this post around! Not long to go and it would amazing if this awesome Māori-led team could reach their funding goal.

The fact that most Natlan criticism is just racism
"Natlan is too modern"
if Natlan any less modern Hoyo would get sued for racism, bc Fun fact shoving African, South America and Ring of fire countries AKA black people/indigenous people countries together IS RACIST
Natlan is too modern
South American countries only gets represented in midia as a backwater tribal black people country that doesn't even know what electricity is
Natlan isn't too modern, Hoyo simple isn't being classist piece of shit like yall
Bc when was the last time you have seen a African or South American country being show with a skyscraper??
Bc trust me, IT'S VERY FUCKING RARE
So SHUT THE FUCK UP about how modern Natlan is
