i saw a post somewhere on this hellsite that was like "having ocs absolutely ruins music for you" and that goes the same for being obsessed with any piece of media. like back when i was obsessed with ragatha and pomni every single song became a ragapom song. and now ddlc has me in a chokehold, so every single song i hear is "oh my godh thats so monika" or "sayori would definitely like this band" ITS RUINED ALL OF MUSIC FOR ME. AND I WOULD NOT GIVE THAT UP FOR ANYTHING.

that being said. um. you should listen to Wild Party... they only have one album and a couple EPs out right now but... but their vibe reminds me of sayori.... sayori would love wild party..... wild party save me.....

Fuck it, I’m starting a music magazine

I went and made a(nother) Wordpress blog yesterday. I’ll launch it after I’m done moving but it’s coming. Mainly it’s so that I can impress the folks at Exclaim! and start writing for them, but if I started a Tumblr for it, would you all pretend to be excited every time I post?

It’s @soundslivemagazine! Get it because there are sounds, and they are live, and something sounds live and alive, I’m happy with the name! (Unless you guys think otherwise? I’m just hoping the name isn’t so generic that it gets lost, but also this is so local and on the ground. It’s not the next Pitchfork or anything, no pressure on me. That said if you want to see whether following is worth your time, my other ‘music journalism’ stuff is here on the #music tag)

like i was just listening to a podcast where a grown ass man was like "i don't like any taylor swift music but Blank Space... now that's a song god damnit." he came to this revelation in 2023. like this is what i'm saying Blank Space is THEEEE song it is the equalizer, it is the BEST and MOST pop song she's ever written!! it's undeniable even by those who hate her and is that not the greatest marker for how amazing a song is?? and how she made that song when she was feeling particularly petty towards her haters as the entire song is a fuck you to people who called her crazy and clingy. and she said she wanted to make the song so good that it would get stuck in their heads. and it DID!!! and she WON!!! brings haters to their knees even to this DAY!!
