What's better to admire than money?
I mean, why money? Money’s just a symbol of power; it’s not the power itself. We kinda rely on it, but we’re still around even when we’re broke. The weird thing about money worship is that it’s not really about what you can buy; it’s treated like some sort of deity. If money were a god, what would it offer? Would it give us fame, fortune, happiness, or just some peace of mind? Are rich folks…

Costco Wholesale's actions regarding an upcoming annual shareholder meeting slated for late January 2025 are making headlines. Of particular note is a suggested agenda item for a proposal requesting a vote to report to outline the risks around Costco's diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies. Specifically, the group submitting the proposal expressed concern over financial, legal, and reputational damage to Costco if the organization stays committed to DEI. The proposals call out warnings around discriminatory lawsuits like that of Starbucks, retaining a chief diversity officer position, and citing concern over Costco's unwavering commitment to equity. However, Costco's Board of Directors reviewed the proposal and unanimously recommended against it, citing inefficient content and evidence for rigor in structures to ensure fairness to justify investment in investigating the effectiveness of DEI at Costco. The Board response also highlighted doing the right thing for its communities and highlighted concern over ulterior motives in the proposal submission. Essentially, the Board voted to favor inclusive leadership and encouraged stakeholders to vote for inclusion. Costco's move to not cave into competitive pressures and stay the course with DEI commitments earns the title of Inclusion Hero of the Week.
Inclusive Leadership Is About Walking The Talk:
Golden Compass Concept
Costco has a mission that encourages doing the right thing for its communities.
A guiding principle around inclusion is ensuring that leaders walk the talk, which essentially means ensuring alignment between leader language, behaviors, and actions; otherwise, it can appear disingenuous. Costco has done so and shown commitment to inclusion in the workplace in several ways.
There is clear leadership buy-in for DEI as a priority. Costco's site messaging includes a quote directly from the CEO about the value of appreciation for inclusion: "We flourish from having employees with different views, experiences, and ideas." Additionally, the Board's actions align with the goal of an inclusive workplace. For example, there are dedicated resources to foster an appreciation for differences across the enterprise.
The Costco mission states that the organization is vested in "doing the right thing—for our members, our employees, our suppliers, our communities, and the environment." The decision to stay the course aligns with the Company's mission, which is also expressed in the voter proxy ready information to support decision-making.
Business Opportunity
Representation opportunities still exist for Costco
Increased Representation Is Important For Inclusive Leadership:
Much discussion has been about the importance and necessity of representation in leadership to allow for the thriving of inclusive workplaces. While Costco is to be applauded for its decision to stay with DEI, FY24 demographics show opportunities for increased representation. The organization shows 54.2% of employees are male and 45.6% female. Management numbers show 62.9% male and 37.1% female. For executives in the United States, the numbers show that 72.3% are male and 27.7 % are female. For Race and Ethnicity non-management roles, 33.1% are Hispanic, 9.3% Black, and 8.5% Asian. Costco has 36% gender diversity and 9% race/ethnic diversity on its Board. Costco reporting shows more demographic breakdowns.
Inclusive Leaders take note. Organizations don't have to be perfect to make impactful strides in creating inclusion in the workplace. Costco continues to march forward unbothered by competitor actions, such as Walmart (owner of Sam's Club), which chose to move in the opposite direction, scaling back on DEI commitments. The example above shows Costco staying the course to appreciate employees, vendors, and customers.

Anthony Ha at TechCrunch:
Apple’s board of directors has come out in opposition to a proposal seeking to end the company’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs. In a proxy filing, the company said the National Center for Public Policy Research (a conservative think tank) is submitting a proposal for Apple to “consider abolishing its Inclusion & Diversity program, policies, department and goals.” The think tank’s proposal claims that DEI programs could make companies vulnerable to lawsuits, citing the recent Supreme Court ruling against race-based affirmative action in colleges and noting that other companies have eliminated or scaled back similar programs. (Most recently, Meta eliminated its DEI programs, and Amazon is reportedly pulling back as well.)
Glad to see the Apple Board of Directors oppose right-wing activist efforts to abolish its DEI programs.

turns out, i fit in pretty well with the riot grrrls because i, too, enjoyed angrily screaming about womanhood. the difference that went over my head at the time was that, generally, most of them hated being girls due to sexism, and i hated being a girl due to gender dysphoria.
ill never forget the angry punk girls who made me who i am, even as i outgrew a subculture that centered femininity. they helped me survive my teenage years, and ill always be grateful for the introduction to intersectional feminism
#was thinking about this lately#saw bikini kills post ab trans and gnc riotgrrrls and it made me feel seen#i know the scene has been criticized for being trans exclusionary#bikini kill in particular playing at a festival that had a transphobic policy#it makes me sad a lot of people are hesitant to get into the scene because of that#kathleen in particular has said she regrets that#it means a lot to me that she tries to make the scene inclusive#and she’s also raised money for lgbtq+ charities#i love that the movement is still alive and ppl are making an effort to diversify the scene#riot grrrl#transgender#trans#punk subculture#transmasc#punk#feminism

Considering that women critical of self id in women’s sports are threatened and harassed Yes we do need more men to stand up do this. TRAs know the difference between men and women when it comes to who they can intimidate.
A male powerlifting coach self-identified into the women’s category and broke the Alberta women’s bench press record in an apparent effort to protest gender self-identification policies in sport.
Avi Silverberg, a powerlifting coach who has worked with Team Canada, self-identified as a woman last week to participate in the women’s category at the Heroes Classic Powerlifting Meet held in Lethbridge, Alberta. Silverberg was attempting to highlight the unfair advantage males have when competing in women’s athletics. In participating in the Saturday event, Silverberg unofficially broke the Alberta women’s bench press record for the 84+ kilograms category.
The Canadian Powerlifting Union (CPU) announced a gender self-identification policy earlier this year, explicitly allowing any males to participate in women’s competitions on the basis of “gender” alone.
In February, the CPU’s “Trans Inclusion Policy,” was released, containing an explicit statement that the CPU supported allowing transgender powerlifters to participate in the sex category of their choosing based on a guidance from the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES).
“Based on this background and available evidence, the Expert Working Group felt that trans athletes should be able to participate in the gender with which they identify, regardless of whether or not they have undergone hormone therapy,” the document reads, deferring to the “inclusivity in sport” guidance from the CCES.
The official women’s bench press title holder in the 84+ kilograms category is Anne Andres, a trans-identified male. Andres was in the front row and witnessed Silverberg’s demonstration at the Heroes Classic Powerlifting Meet.
Andres is a biological male athlete who identifies as a “woman” and regularly participates in female weightlifting competitions. Andres has won eight out of nine competitions he has entered in the women’s category, and is listed as a female on the Open Powerlifting rankings site.
In February, just prior to the CPU’s announcement of a gender self-identification policy, Andres gained significant notoriety after sharing a video of himself appearing to mock female athletes, asking why female powerlifters were “so bad” at bench press.
In the video, Andres is seen sitting on a bench in a gym, leaning towards the camera in a casual manner and speaking directly into it.
“We all know that I’m a tranny freak,” Andres jokes about himself before going on to state: “… I mean, standard bench in power lifting competition for women, I don’t understand why it’s so bad.”
Riley Gaines, a spokeswoman for the Independent Women’s forum and an accomplished All American swimmer, shared a clip from the viral video on her Twitter in February, captioning it: “Anne Andres (male who identifies and competes as a woman) doesn’t understand why female powerlifters are so ‘bad’ at bench press… well idk Anne, but maybe it’s because you have 20 times more testosterone than them. Just a thought…”
ICONS Women, a campaign group dedicated to defending the rights of female athletes to single-sex sport, was first to post the clip of Silverberg at the Heroes Classic Powerlifting Meet on Monday, drawing attention to his act of defiance.
Speaking to Reduxx, ICONS Women noted that Silverberg’s demonstration provided insight into the end result of gender self-identification policies in sport.
“What Avi so obviously points out is that policies allowing men access to women’s sports completely remove any integrity in women’s competitions,” the organization said.
“It doesn’t matter how Avi expresses himself or perceives himself. He clearly does not belong in women’s sport, and neither does any other male regardless of their motivation for wanting to participate.”
While some were confused by the display, others praised Silverberg’s ironic application of the CPU’s “Transgender Policy.”
“I can’t get enough of this guy, Avi for prime minister. It takes real balls to do this. I said this all along, any man can change their documents to say they are a woman then go in and take records. Finally someone did it for the women and proved policy is a disgrace,” one Twitter user wrote in response.
Many echoed the sentiment, calling for more male athletes to do the same.
Women’s athletic competitions have become a major issue in the debate on gender ideology and its impact on women.
The issue mounted in public attention after a trans-identified male swimmer, Lia Thomas, began breaking women’s records and winning medals intended for female athletes in 2021. Since then, there have been several instances of trans-identified male athletes taking the podium in women’s sporting events.
Amidst growing pushback, the World Athletics recently announced they would be prohibiting transgender athletes who have undergone “male puberty” from competing in women’s world ranking competitions. During a press conference last week, World Athletics President Sebastian Coe cited scientific consideration and fairness for female athletes, stating he and the organization “believe the integrity of female category in athletics is paramount.”

Dykegender / Genderdyke flag
I made this because the only existing Dykegender flag I could find was made as a joke, so here's one that's serious. These are open to anyone who wants to use them regardless of how you personally define Dykegender / Genderdyke for yourself!
Regarding who exactly can use this, it has the same policy as the NYC Dyke March: "Any person who identifies as a dyke… regardless of gender expression or identity, sex assigned at birth, sexual orientation, race, age, political affiliation, religious identity, ability, class, or immigration status."
The colors are taken from the Dyke flag by Ari-the-Demigod and the Dyke flag by sol_v_diaz on Twitter ( I've de-saturated the purple from Sol's flag for eyestrain reasons. ) The symbol is optional and there for those who wish to use it!
Taglist - @radiomogai, @revenant-coining

An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress; State Governors & Legislatures
Demanding Action: Stop the Assault on Transgender Rights!!
6 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!
I am writing urgently to address the alarming rise in anti-transgender legislation across our nation. Recent developments, such as the high-risk classification of Idaho for adults & Wyoming for youth due to a transgender care ban, demand immediate attention. The urgency of this matter cannot be overstated.
As your constituent, I am terrified by the discriminatory bills prohibiting gender-affirming care & bathroom bans sweeping our states impacting my rights. These laws strip Americans of their rights, dignity, and privacy, harming people of all ages, including cisgender Americans, women of color, and intersex individuals.
A recent article by Erin Reed highlighted the insurmountable & still-rising risks faced by transgender Americans due to legislative actions in various states. This onslaught of discriminatory laws, as outlined in Erin's updates, poses a direct threat to the rights & dignity of every transgender American, past, present, & future.
It is deeply troubling to witness states like Idaho escalating to a "high risk" level by passing bills that prohibit gender-affirming care for individuals of all ages. Similar trends across the nation, including bathroom bans & restrictions on identity documentation, create hostile environments that undermine the fundamental rights of transgender individuals to exist authentically & safely. Additionally, proposals like those in Alaska, which expose disadvantaged students to invasive scrutiny & domestic dangers, further exacerbate the urgency of this issue. Our transgender siblings in states like Florida also face immense challenges & danger due to discriminatory legislation by the ‘Sundown State.’ ‘Sundown’ meaning ‘Do Not Travel.’
As a nation that values equality & justice for all, we cannot remain silent in the face of such discriminatory legislation. These laws not only perpetuate stigma & discrimination but also pose a grave threat to the well-being & dignity of all American demographics.
The respected Union Soldier Pvt. Albert D. J. Cashier should be honored for his service to our country, & it is shameful that our society refuses to recognize & affirm his value, sacrifice, & American Rights. Any elected official who supports the bad-faith war on transgender Americans should be ashamed & embarrassed to champion & enforce unequal division rights.
I urge you to take a bold stand against any & all anti-transgender legislation & to introduce & support measures that uphold the rights & dignity of all Americans, regardless of their gender identity. Our elected officials have a responsibility to champion policies that promote inclusivity, respect, & equal rights for all Americans in our communities & across the nation, to include all our transgender, non-binary, gender-non-conforming, intersex, or cisgender Americans, regardless of their genital configuration or reproductive potential.

Went into town today. I initially was going to go with something subdued, but decided "fuck it" and put on one of my push up bras anyway.
If someone in town is going to hassle me, they're going to do it either way, I might as well look how I like
Had no issues at all, actually got gendered correctly when I was getting food at a coffee shop with a friend, so I came away happy
