from where do you read the manga?
I know this is not what you asked for, but here’s a masterlist of bsd resources I’ve used over the past year. Because every time I join a new fandom I always think “oh, I sure wish there was an all-inclusive masterlist that explained in detail how the material is divided and where to access to it instead of having to dig in myself”. So, this is for you January 2022 Kyotag, and for anyone else who might find this useful! I trust posting this on Tumblr is safe, but please do not share this outside of Tumblr in any way; it’s not for me, it’s for all the people who care to share. Specifically, do not share this on Twitter in any way or form. I will unleash a wild pre-promise Akutagawa after you if you do.
Edit: My biggest thank you to @amythedemisimp, who helped me expand and enrich this list. For your priceless contribution, thank you so much!!! Edit 2: Thank you so much u/barnacleunderthesea for reaching out and sharing new stage play subtitles!!! Check out their BSD English Content Archive here.
BSD resources masterpost
Before visiting any of the websites listed below, make sure to install and activate the uBlock Origin extension and to be using Firefox web browser.
Bungou Stray Dogs Story by Kafka Asagiri, art by Sango Harukawa. The original manga. Ongoing, monthly chapter release.
• MONTHLY CHAPTER FANTRANSLATIONS: translator 1 • Website 1: Official English translation of the manga up to volume 19 / chapter 83 (including all the extra volume contents and omakes) and fantranslations from chapter 84 upwards. It’s my favorite streaming platform for the manga as it grants easy access and download to most of the official translation (the quality is not the best, a sligthly blurry 900×1350px per page, but it is what it is). When visitng on mobile, there’s surges of adds on certain days for some reason, but overall it’s manageable. • Website 2: Official translation up to volume 20 (chapter 88), fantranslations after that. • Website 3: Official translation up to volume 23 (chapter 104), fantranslations after that. Lacks all the additional volumes content (and thus the first page of every volume since it’s in colour). Includes the Japanese raws up to chapter 104, so it’s useful if you need to quickly check the original. Denies download of the pages, and features a watermark. • Website 4: All the chapters fantraslated. Recommending it because it’s always nice to read different translations (and endearing too, at times. You wouldn’t want to miss “Dazai Osamu – Ability: Human Failure”), and because it’s for some reason the only website my university’s wi-fi allows me the access to, so shout-out to it. • Website 5: Raws from chapter 79 up to date. The image quality (1164×1618px) is generally better than the official manga English release.
Bonus chapter 1 • Bonus chapter 2 • Bonus chapter 3 • Bonus chapter 4 • Bonus chapter 5 /// (alt. translation)

today i'm thinking about how tim minear saved the henrentommy scene from the cutting room floor and sent it over to abc so that they could release it. when you think about it on its own, it's not really that special. tptb do that fairly often with their movies and shows: they save some extra content and include it alongside the official cut on dvds as a bonus feature. it's nothing out of the ordinary.
but this is tim minear we are talking about.
the same tim minear who, after 7x06 aired without the extended version of the buck and eddie karaoke scene (which angered a lot of buddie shippers to the point of sending him death threats), went on record to say that although he isn't really hesitant to share deleted scenes, it is something that has negative connotations for him. because last year, when he finished and released some 911 lone star scenes that were excluded from the finale, the fandom was furious that they were cut in the first place instead of enjoying the extra content. in the same statement, he mentioned that the reaction had left a bad taste in his mouth and so he wouldn't be doing that again.
given the context in which he said that, it's really hard to blame him. after all, he's human too, and it must suck ass when you release something you took your precious time to finish, thinking the fans would appreciate it, only for them to react negatively. he wasn't willing to go through that again. end of story.
except, he did do it again.
tim experienced backlash from both tarlos fans and buddie fans for not doing things their way. nobody would blame him if he didn't want to make the same mistake with bucktommy fans. but tim is sanguine. he is optimistic. he took a chance on us. he saved the scene from the cutting room floor, finished it, and sent it over to abc, knowing full well there was a chance that bucktommy fans would lash out as well. i like to think he was fairly certain this time would be different, though, due to all the positive interactions he has had with us. but at the end of the day, this is something only tim knows. the point is, he decided to risk it one more time. and i have to say, it makes me incredibly happy, and for once, i am really proud to be a part of something like the bucktommy nation. we may have a few bad apples, as all fandoms do, but as a whole, it is such a positive community. we appreciate all the content we get. we don't harass people for not giving us enough. we understand why the story goes the way it goes. we see how certain scenes don't necessarily fit with the narrative flow of a given episode. we are able to think critically. and all these traits are something that creators really do appreciate. i can only hope this continues until the end.

Future Diary Radio TL
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here’s the (long time coming) update on the Future Diary Radio CDs! I’m sorry it took so long to finish this project, as always, school has me on a chokehold, but I’m glad to say the translations are finally done! In case you missed the original post, the Future Diary Radio CDs are an obscure piece of media from Future Diary that include commentary from some of the show’s voice actors, regarding their experiences voicing the characters and opinions about the series. You can now find the three tracks with the translated subtitles on my Youtube channel (daisynilla) or on the links down below. Special thanks to @iwanpepsu, @syrpai and @the-chosen-blood-teller for helping me gather the tracks from the radio CDs.
youtube
youtube
youtube
And on a semi-related note, I also wanted to use this post to comment on a couple of things that came up while doing research for this project.
1. In all of the three Radio CDs, the voice actors mention something about a live concert that happened at Shibuya AX on July 29th. I'm not sure how well-known this concert and the music featured in it are among the fandom, but given how much it is talked about in the radio CDs (and how much information I gathered on it incidentally), I figure I should make a separate post dedicated to that. Especially because of… this:
Tumblr media
2. On one of the Radio CDs, there was a mention of the DVD cast commentaries done by the Japanese voice actors. I don't own the DVD, but I was accidentally sent the audio for these Japanese cast commentaries in response to my last post about the Radio CDs. For my sanity’s sake, I’m not translating this, (I feel like the radio CDs are a good enough stand-in for the cast commentaries) but given its mention, I wanted to provide some of the context surrounding it. Like your regular cast commentaries on any DVD’s bonus features, the voice actors share their comments of the show as they watch the episodes. The order of the voice actors featured in each episode goes as follows:
Episodes 1-2: feature commentary from Misuzu Togashi (Yukki’s VA) and Tomosa Murata (Yuno’s VA).
Episodes 3-5: Aizawa Mai (Minene’s VA, ps her voice is so high it caught me off guard), Kawahara Yoshihisa (12th’s VA) and Sendai Eri (Tsubaki’s VA).
Episodes 6-8: Sanada Asami (Reisuke’s VA) and Mizuhara Kaoru (Rea’s VA).
Episodes 9-11: Ishida Akira (Akise’s VA), Matsuoka Yuki (Hinata’s VA) and Hiramatsu Hirokazu (10th’s VA).
Episodes 12-14: Ishii Makoto (Nishijima’s VA) and Tanaka Masahiko (Kurusu’s VA).
Episodes 15-17: Seki Tomokazu (Marco’s VA) and Kuwatani Natsuko (Ai’s VA).
Episodes 18-20: Yukana (Mao’s VA) and Shiraishi Minoru (Kousaka’s VA).
Episodes 21-23: Inada Tetsu (Ryuji’s VA, aka 11th’s secretary) and Konno Hiromi (8th’s VA).
Episodes 24-26: Domon Jin (3rd’s VA) and Honda Manami (MurMur’s VA).
(Also, I'm pretty sure the English version of the DVD includes cast commentaries too, but I don't know if those are the Japanese cast commentaries with translated subtitles or if it's commentary from the American cast… probably the latter, but I guess I’ll have to look a little deeper into that.)

You don’t have to apologize for anything, you literally put out updates to your comic every other day and meanwhile I’ve been struggling to not procrastinate on my fan blogs even at least once a week despite having plenty of time to do so. Quite frankly we’ve kinda been spoiled by the amount of effort you put into your awesome comic series.
BTW you have good taste, Steven Universe has to be one of my favorite cartoon shows and I’m still not done with my 5 year old AU comic series about Yellow Diamond.
Awww thanks! I will still try to draw, not because I am “overworking” myself, but because I just like to draw in general xD.
Steven Universe was my favourite for a while but Bee and Puppycat takes first place for me (secretly hoping Netflix releases a DVD and some bonus features including the original YouTube shorts).
And I ALSO had an idea for a Blue Diamond AU, but it was mostly screen cap edits. I wonder if I reblog them, will they get any traction…🤔

top 5 favourite films? :o
You said favorite, not best, so i get to have incredibly bad taste loudly and in public because i am waaaaaaaaaay more pretentious about what i read than what i watch.
5. mamma mia. what can i say that hasn’t been said it’s so loud and fun and i like to sing along with my friends. I stand by every single creative choice they make in this including but not limited to casting only men who can’t sing and also having every single one of the actors be drunk off their ass all the time.
4. coraline- i am not honoring my 9 year old self who bought this dvd (with bonus features) and watched it until the disc broke if i don’t include this. it’s such a comfort movie it’s so visually interesting and i could probably play all the parts right now if you asked me to.
3. batman and robin (1997) as it is meant to be experienced, minimum five drinks in and surrounded by other gay people. arnold schwarzenegger is covered in blue glitter and shouting ice puns, uma thurman is in pseudo-drag makeup doing the funniest possible sexy affect for all of her clunky 90’s-movie-exec’s-concept-of-an-ecoterrorist lines. george clooney is batman and easily the most boring thing about his own movie. every setpiece is increasingly, louder, more colorful, and so much dumber than what came before. dare i say: camp
2. hereditary. shit smacks. i love the tragedy of iphigenia and i love this as an adaptation of it. the cinematography is amazing and the soundtrack is SOOOOOO good. i am your mother
1.MOULIN ROUGE. THE most movie of all time. subtlety is overrated sometimes being incredibly earnest and busy and having twelve different kinds of confetti going on in every shot is better because sometimes the greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return!!!!!

Which release of yours would you go back to, with skills you've gained since the start, and reedit or redo. You spoke about stuff ending up on the cutting room floor would you ever consider doing a DVD extra's of them or using them in some other form (at the end of daddy forever you included a little bonus clip for instance). I can't speak for everyone but I'd certainly pay for a collection of lost content or behind the scenes photos etc.
Every release features at least one aspect that I wish I could go back and do differently. I’m not sure I could choose just one because even some of my favorites like Taken & Re-Educated feature moments that I would just love to go back and do another way.
Sorority Surrender was completely reshot and there’s some other projects that haven’t seen a release just because various factors. My long term plan is to release some of that footage and other behind the scenes stuff some day but I’m not sure when.

@ztarburztsystem sorry just found your post again and here's some flocali
I'm going to organise it into the good, the bad and the confusing
Good
•Florida doesn't like Cali's cooking as it's healthy to the point it's bland and unfilling. But Florida will eat it anyway. However, as Cali got more stressed he began making food for him. Everyday for a month Cali woke up to the smell of waffles and pancakes and glazed fruit. He was genuinely impressed the house didn't burn down but found the meal too rich after a while. Then one day they decided to cook together and accidently invented a new food that was the perfect balance.
•They love watersports (like actual sports on water not piss I had to learn that the hard way) and go to the beach every week for date night. They get competitive and it only goes too far once when Florida did the alligator move of death rolling in the water. California was only mildly annoyed with Florida getting too rough in the water.
The bad
• Florida gets homesick a lot but can't always go home. California tried making things seem like home with Disneyland and Halloween horror nights, but they only make Florida miss his home more. When Florida gets really upset Cali will just cuddle him.
•Because Cali uses his exes Hulu, Florida can see what his ex likes. It's not the only thing Cali's ex left behind. Sometimes Florida will find a picture of the two- other times he will find "blood" on the ex's shirt or find a box of his ex's things (including photo albums and a dvd of human centipede with bonus features). Florida also found a hole in the wall from what he assumed was from Cali's ex being aggressive and he confronted Cali on his findings.
The reality was very different. California and his ex got along well and were still friends. In fact Cali's ex offered to continue paying for hulu, his old shirts were "bloody" bc it's a Halloween costume and the only reason why Cali still keeps his stuff is because his ex doesn't have enough room in his own apartment. But the human centipede? Oh California just hid that after his ex wanted to make out to a horror movie and didn't read the warnings.
Florida felt a bit insecure on how close Cali was to his ex, but eventually he accepted they didn't have anything else going on.
Confusing
•Florida is shark bite capital and part gator, and when he was teething he didn't know what to bite. California was right in front of him, reading a book. He went straight for his arm. They then proceeded to stare at each other for at least 15min before Florida grabbed the book and went absolutely feral.
•Sometimes, when Cali comes home he hears Florida playing bad bunny and leaves.
•Both of them are Tumblr shippers. But Florida is a multishipper and Cali is a reader/character and an otp shipper. They have fandom discourse.
Florida: self inserts are just annoying-
Cali: oh, like we're not a stand-in for Ben! Also your ships are toxic!!
Florida: How???
Cali: enemies to lovers is always toxic!!!
Florida: BUT THAT'S OUR ENTIRE RELATIONSHIP!!!!

Regarding this post, I decided to hell with it. Why not write an email to the Criterion Collection and ask for a release of Rope? I don't know how many people in the fandom here are DVD/Blu-Ray collectors, but for me it would be amazing news to finally have a high quality release by a great label. I copy-pasted the mail in case anyone wants to read it.
Dear Criterion Collection Team,
I believe that the 1948 crime thriller 'Rope'. directed by Alfred Hitchcock, would make a fantastic addition to the collection.
I'm not saying this just because it's my personal favourite movie of all time, but for a great variety of reasons. First off, it's an incredibly influential and fascinating movie that has the ability to amaze audiences with its inventive filming techniques to this day. Yet, it has never had a proper release by a boutique label, unlike many other of his movies, some of which released by yourself (e.g. Classic Hitchcock box set). I think it deserves a proper restauration even better than the ones currently on the market, maybe even in 4k.
I'm not sure how much material exists that could be included as special/bonus features, but I'm sure there's at least some things that haven't been released to the public yet. A 30-minute documentary called 'Rope Unleashed' that has been featured on DVD sets since the 00s exists already, which could be upscaled in case that's possible. More special features (inspired by other Criterion Hitchcock releases such as 39 Steps, The Lodger, and several more) could be interviews, video essays, or an audio commentary with film scholars or people who studied/were involved in the making of the film, as well as behind the scenes footage (I know there's a considerable amount of pictures, I sadly don't know anything of video footage), short informative videos about the lives and work of Farley Granger and John Dall (who were both incredibly underrated actors and mistreated by the industry, especially John Dall), a look into the history of Rope the stage play and possible recordings of performances, and lastly the BBC Radio 4 adaption from 1983 featuring Alan Rickman. Another option would be the 1947 version of the film starring Dirk Bogarde, although I couldn't find any information whether those tapes have been preserved. I don't know how realistic some of these are, but it's every possible idea I could think of.
Thank you for taking your time and reading my suggestions. If you considered giving this masterpiece the astonishing release it deserves, you would make a large number of film fans very happy.
Sincerely,
-X-

The Untapped Benefits of DVD and Blu-ray Media in the Streaming Era
Introduction: In an era where streaming dominates the way we consume media, it's easy to overlook the enduring benefits of physical media like DVDs and Blu-rays. While streaming services offer convenience and on-demand access to a vast library of content, there are several advantages to owning DVD and Blu-ray collections that are worth considering. In this article, we will explore the unique benefits that these fiscal media formats still offer in the age of streaming.
Seamless Access: One major advantage of owning DVDs and Blu-rays is that they provide seamless access to content without the need for a stable internet connection. While streaming platforms depend on a reliable internet connection, physical media ensures that you can watch movies and TV shows anytime, anywhere, even in remote or low-connectivity areas.
Superior Quality: Although streaming services have made significant strides in improving their video and audio quality, there is still a noticeable difference when compared to Blu-ray. Blu-ray discs offer uncompressed audio and pristine high-definition video quality, providing a true cinematic experience that streaming platforms struggle to replicate. For movie enthusiasts who appreciate superior visual and audio quality, physical media is the way to go.
Preservation and Collectability: DVDs and Blu-rays allow movie fans to build an impressive collection of their favorite films and TV shows. Physical media provides a sense of ownership and allows for displaying and showcasing one's collection. Furthermore, DVDs and Blu-rays often come with exclusive bonus content such as behind-the-scenes footage, director's commentaries, and deleted scenes, enhancing the overall viewer experience.
Reliability and Longevity: Streaming platforms occasionally remove titles from their catalogs due to licensing agreements, leaving viewers disappointed when their favorite shows or movies suddenly become inaccessible. With DVDs and Blu-rays, there are no concerns regarding titles disappearing suddenly. Owners can watch their favorite movies and TV shows at their leisure, without any interruptions, and can share them with friends and family without limitations.
Enhanced Extras and Special Editions: Physical media often brings with it a range of extra features and special editions that streaming platforms may not offer. Collectors and film enthusiasts appreciate the extra content, which can include documentaries, interviews, and visual enhancements. Special editions with limited-edition packaging or added memorabilia can also enhance the overall viewing experience and make physical media more appealing to fans.
Conclusion: While streaming services have revolutionized the way we consume media, the benefits of owning DVD and Blu-ray collections should not be overlooked. From creators and executive producers Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro, Young Sheldon centers on Sheldon Cooper, a once-in-a-generation mind capable of advanced mathematics and science, which isn’t always helpful in a land where church and football are king. And while the vulnerable, gifted, and somewhat naïve Sheldon deals with the world, his very normal family must find a way to deal with him. For 12 years on The Big Bang Theory, audiences came to know the iconic, eccentric, and extraordinary Sheldon Cooper. This single-camera, half-hour comedy takes viewers through his childhood, as he embarks on his innocent, awkward, and hopeful journey toward the man he will become.
The series stars Iain Armitage, Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Annie Potts, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, Emily Osment, and Jim Parsons (as the voice of Sheldon). Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, Steve Holland, Jim Parsons, Todd Spiewak and Nick Bakay serve as executive producers.  Young Sheldon is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
Young Sheldon has been a consistent ratings winner. It premiered as the #1 new comedy of the 2017-2018 television season and became the #1 comedy in the 2019-2020 season after The Big Bang Theory completed its run. Young Sheldon returned for its seventh and final season on Feb. 15 and remains television’s #1 comedy.

Jeff Buckley Grace (Legacy Edition) C3K/CVD 92881
Order now and get your FREE, limited edition Jeff Buckley CD-sized booklet with photos of Jeff (same previously unseen) and your FREE Jeff Buckley Poster. While supplies last.
Jeff Buckley's debut album, Grace, has been heralded by many journalists and musicians as one of the best albums of the '90s. Today, 10 years later, Jeff's music continues to inspire and influence fellow musicians, artists and fans around the globe.
Now Columbia Records is proud to present, Grace (Legacy Edition). The Grace (Legacy Edition) will be released on the same day as the original Grace album making the 10th anniversary of this monumental album.
Jeff Buckley was a prolific singer/songwriter, always striving for perfection. He would record many of his songs in various styles. Jeff also took time to record a number of songs by the artists that inspired him. Both of these aspects of Jeff's music are encompassed on Grace (Legacy Edition). Disc One features the original album newly remastered for a new sonically rich, crisp sound not heard before. Disc Two features previously unreleased live recordings and material recorded during the grace sessions, including the highly sought-after track "Forget Her." "Forget Her" was originally recorded for the Grace album but was taken off by Jeff after he and band member, Michael Tighe wrote "So Real." This marvelous new edition also includes many previously unseen photos and new insightful liner notes and song by song annotations for the bonus material.
Grace (Legacy Edition) also includes a bonus DVD featuring a newly expanded version of the original Grace documentary (included on the Live In Chicago DVD), now titled The Making Of Grace. The Making Of Grace includes original documentary material interwoven with new and archival interviews with band members and producers, featuring rare unseen footage of Jeff in the studio recording the album. In addition, this fantastic bonus DVD features all four videos done for the album and a new video done for the previously unreleased track "Forget Her."
With a treasure trove of material (most previously unseen and unheard), Grace (Legacy Edition) is the definitive document of a brilliant artist and talented performers---an essential recording for fans and collectors.
