I'm sorry if this is a silly question but I couldn't find a concrete answer.. is Inactromantic/Initiaromantic an aromantic identity? I know the definition, but what confuses me is because it can refer to people who do still experience romantic attraction? See, I've identified as Inactromantic for awhile but don't want to claim being Aromantic if I'm not! I still experience primary+secondary romantic attraction if that helps any, I just find a lot of romantic stuff to be repulsive..
From what I could find, it does seem to be considered on the aromantic spectrum and thus an aromantic identity.
Not all people on the aromantic spectrum experience zero romantic attraction, like grey aros and demi aros. So inactromantics/intiaromantics fit right in!
Hope this helps and I’m not inactromantic/intiaromantic myself so if anyone is and wants to share please feel free!

I know you added them in the tags but I feel the need to include them in text just because we get excluded from stuff WAY too often: demiromantics and frayromantics exist, too.
Anyways, we definitely need to just go ahead and start explaining a-spec labels side-by-side with their opposites.
Litho/akoisexuals and akoi/lithromantics who lose their attraction if they find out it's reciprocated? Meet reciprosexuals and recipromantics who can only feel attraction if they know the person is attracted to them first.
Bellussexuals and bellusromantics who like sexual/romantic-coded things but feel no attraction and don't desire such relationships? Meet inactsexuals and inactromantics who feel attraction and desire those kinds of relationships despite being sex/romance-repulsed.
Acespikes and arospikes who are usually ace/aro but occasionally experience random spikes of allosexuality/alloromanticism? Meet ace-jumps and aro-jumps who are usually allo but occasionally experience random spikes of asexuality/aromanticism.
You know what’s weird?
How demisexual is the most well-known acespec identity, but fraysexual is practically unheard of.
A demisexual, as many reading this may already know, is someone who doesn’t experience sexual attraction until they have an emotional bond with the person. Basically, they need to get to know the person first before sexual attraction kicks in.
Fraysexual, meanwhile, is the opposite of demisexual. Someone who is fraysexual experiences sexual attraction to someone they don’t know, but once they get to know the person, the sexual attraction goes away.
It makes sense for fraysexual and demisexual to be mentioned side by side. The problem is, fraysexuality just isn’t known. So people making educational posts and articles about demisexuality don’t even realize there’s an opposite of it to mention. Meaning more people are learning about demisexuals while fraysexuals remain unknown.
It makes me wonder. How many people have come across the word “demisexual,” thought “that sounds like me but in reverse,” and moved on, not even realizing there’s a term for that?
And how did demisexual end up as well known as it is? My guess is the term existed before fraysexual but I’m surprised fraysexual didn’t jump up in popularity once it was coined. Or maybe there’s just more demis in the world than frays. Regardless, there needs to be more fraysexual awareness. Fraysexuals deserve love, validation, and awareness too.
So here’s to everyone coming across this term for the first time, happy to have discovered that there is an “opposite to demisexual.” Fraysexuals are just as valid as demisexuals, and vice versa.
(As an additional side note: If you ever find yourself wondering, “is there a term for ___ but reversed?,” there probably is. Sometimes you just gotta dig for it.)

[image description: six cartoon-style bunting graphics, featuring six pride flags hanging from a brown rope. The flags are rectangular, finishing in a chevron shape, and have rows of brown stitching across the top of the flag and along the bottom of the chevron. The first three flags in each image have the topmost stripes facing the left; the second three flags are flipped, so all topmost edges face away from the centre of the bunting.
Each banner starts with the yellow/gold allo-aro flag on the left and alternates with an aromantic spectrum identity flag. From top to bottom, the banners include: the black/grey/dark pink/white/green askepsiromantic flag, the grey/white/green/black with black diamond demiromantic flag, the blue/cyan/white/mint green/grey frayromantic flag, the black/grey/lime/pink/dark grey inactromantic/initiaromantic flag, the purple/blue/cyan/white/peach/pink-red/maroon nebularomantic flag and the pink/light pink/white/mint green/white/light pink/pink pomoromantic flag.]
Allo-Aro Bunting - Aromantic Spectrum Edition
I wanted to make banners that celebrate the many possible identities encompassed by the “aro” in “allo-aro”!
Flags: Askepsiromantic, Demiromantic, Frayromantic, Inactromantic/Initiaromantic, Nebularomantic, Pomoromantic.

Very happy and excited to announce that I made a new picrew! This picrew will allow you to create personalized pride flags!
This picrew is free for everyone to use and edit as they so desire. You don’t have to credit me for it. My one rule is that this is not to be used for any commercial purpose whatsoever.
Here’s how it works:
The top row is for sexuality flags. The left side has flags for many different identities, and the right side is for asexual spectrum identities in particular. If you don’t identify as being on the ace spectrum, you don’t have to include a flag on the right–the flag you select on the left will cover the entire top row. This is true for all of the flags in this picrew.
The heart in the middle is for romantic orientations. The left side has lots of different flags for romantic orientations, and the right side has flags for aromantic spectrum identities. If you don’t experience split attraction, you don’t have to include this heart.
The bottom row is for gender identity flags. The left side has flags for many different genders, and the right has more obscure or specific genders, as well as a few other miscellaneously queer options.
The semicircle at the top is for pronouns. This part is also optional.
I’ve tried to include many different flags, but of course there’s lots out there that I don’t know and haven’t included. If you have a flag you’d like added to the picrew, feel free to let me know!
However, do be aware that picrew has an upper limit on how many options I can include, so if I don’t have any more space then I may not be able to add it in, unfortunately :( currently there is still space for flags for all of the parts; if that changes at any point, I will edit this post to let y'all know. Also, it will take be a little while to get a new flag added in, so please do be patient.
These are the currently available options, in order of appearance:
Top Left–rainbow pride, alternate rainbow (black and brown stripes), another alternate rainbow (pink and turquoise stripes), lesbian, gay male, bisexual, pansexual, polysexual, omnisexual, asexual, quoisexual, abrosexual, ceterosexual, heterosexual, queer, questioning, trixic, toric

-of course, I’m always open to more flags and pronouns being added, too. At the moment all panels have open slots for new additions. Shoot me a message if you have a suggestion!

[ID: Icon consists of a moon where 3/4th of it is white, while the rest (on the right side) is colored in a gradient. Craters line where the two sections meet and spread out on both sides, getting smaller until there are none. The color of the craters and right side depend on the colors of the pride flag used. Any additional shapes included in the pride flags are placed behind the moon in their respective place, color, and size. There are nine bats flying over the moon in a slight S curve on the left side and share the same colors of the moon. First eight photos each contain four icons, while the ninth and tenth contain one and below each icon is the name of the pride flag. In order, the names are: Aromantic, Acoromantic, Acriromantic, Apothiromantic, Aroflux, Aro-Jump, Aro Allosexual, Aromid, Arospike, Arovague, Bellusromantic, Caedromantic, Cupioromantic, Demialterous, Demiplatonic, Demiromantic, Fictoromantic, Frayromantic, Greyromantic, Iamvanoromantic, Idemromantic, Inactromantic, Lithromantic/Akoiromantic, Nebularomantic, Omniaplatonic, Omniaromantic, Platoniromantic, Proculsexual, Quoiromantic, Recipromantic, Requisrmantic, Sensualarian, and Aro Spectrum. Hey I identify myself as an aroace but i m confused that whether i am Apothiromantic or Cupioromantic? like i am repulsed by any romantic thing even like holding hands kissing on cheek hugging anything but i desire a romantic relationship in which we r emotionally connected like u get what i wnat??? Like i m so confused i dont want any romantic gesture but i desire a romantic relationship .. Could u help me or suggest what am i so i could look into it n label myself? thank u <3
Hello @aashiqziam! You can be both cupioromantic and apothiromantic/romance repulsed if that makes sense to you.
I've also seen a microlabel, inactromantic, that seems to fit what you're describing, but from what I've seen, it's for who feels romantic attraction (although the wiki definition is quite confusing, it's good to say it exists, if you want to check it out).
As long as you communicate with your partner(s) about what you want with the relationship, it seems fine that you want that kind of relationship without the typical romantic gestures (as a romantic repulsed aroace who never was in a relationship, I can't say much more about the relationship stuff).
I hope this helps you figuring out your identity. If you have more questions, feel free to ask, my inbox is open!
All the best!

I decided I would like to share my coming out story. For almost all my life I thought I was allosexual. But there were times when I thought that maybe I was ace. I do have a libido but sex was never really important to be. I did have a lot of crushes but I seldom wanted sex with them. I always thought naked bodies were really not attractive. Sex scenes made me uncomfortable and male strippers did nothing for me. 1/3
Sometimes I thought I was sexually attracted to women and romantically attracted to men. But that didn’t feel right either. A few years ago my sister came out as demi bi and since then I talked about the possibility of me being a-spec a couple of times. Only since a couple of months I started identifying as grey-ace. I came out to my sister first. She was very accepting of course. We discussed if we considered ourselves as part of the LGBTQA community but decided we didn’t. 2/3
A few days later I came out to my parents and they too were accepting for the most part. My mom did ask if I was sure. She thought that maybe because I was bullied in my teens that maybe because of that I wasn’t as occupied with having sex as my peers. She also told me that it maybe was something that I needed to develop. I think it’s because of the way she views sex herself. Weeks later I came out to my younger sister. She said she can understand asexuality but not grey sexuallity. 3/4
She doesn’t like labels to begin with. But these are the only people who know. I sort of dropped a hint at work but they didn’t really pick up on it. I’m probably on the aro spectrum as well but I’m not sure yet. It may just be that I feel uncomfortable dating and being in a relationship because of being an loner, having low self esteem and just getting used to dating. For now I ID as Aego-greysexual hetero Inactromantic but I call myself grey-ace. 4/5
I forgot to mention that my sister finds it hard to wrap her head around grey sexuality because doesn’t it just means you don’t like the person you’re not sexually attracted to as much as the one you do feel sexually attracted to. She was also confused in which other way you would know who you’re attracted to if you don’t want to have sex with them. I gave her some examples like cuddling, aesthetic attraction, wanting to build a future together. She still didn’t understand. 5/6Only when I talked about butterflies did she understand. Sorry for the long ask but I just wanted to share this.
