this passage is so telling for han sooyoung and her relationship with yoo sangah for me. like i dont think han sooyoung is genuinely as frustrated with yoo sangah's relentless optimism as she tries to make it seem, as much as han sooyoung is a genuinely very pessimistic and distrusting person i dont think she's as against looking on the bright side as she depicts, because her powers are kind of based on trying to find a bit of hope and a future where theres a way out. its sort of her role as an author too, at least in orv. and i just dont think she could have made it as far in the scenarios as she did if she didnt have it in her to believe in her companions. shes talking about how good yoo sangah is for believing in kim dokja here but she is also literally doing the same thing in this chapter, just refuses to see it.
but because han sooyoung has based not just her self-image but her role in the story around being at worst a villain and at best an anti-hero she cant see yoo sangah's traits reflected back in her. instead she bases her relationship with yoo sangah around being her 'opposite', the pessimist to yoo sangahs perpetual optimist. which is very interesting! also something i personally headcanon yoo sangah as seeing past. anyway im not a sangsooer but this passage makes me appreciate their beliefs

Ahh! I love your writing and I'm curious about how Samuel would take witnessing the person he is in love with confessing to Jake. Just fun lil angst I thought about 💜
Samuel Seo x Reader feat. Jake Kim "I shouldn't have cared in the first place" Angst oneshot
Tumblr media
Damn this is actually a good idea @vibinbugg. (I like Jake Kim more in terms of character but I tend to relate with Samuel sometimes...). And sorry if this is late and rushed but I tried my best lol so I hope you like it. Genre: angst 🥀 Slight warnings: insecurities, third wheels, inferiority complex (not recommended in real life go talk to your buddies when you have problems like this), arguing/shouting, always being the second choice (Samuel's POV) Reader is gender neutral
He's like a raging storm that comes in everybody's way. When he gets ticked off, you're facing off a dangerous monster. He's destructive, fearless, and most especially not the best person to cross with. He'll get what he wants, no matter who or what fuckers comes in his way. He just doesn't care.
When it comes to love, Samuel is having a bit of mental crisis on it. Romance, caring, social and emotional connection? He doesn't need any of those. He looks down to love as a big sign of weakness. His mom never cared about him in the first place, his so called "friends" in Big Deal couldn't stand him, and most especially,
he couldn't even care for himself.
Samuel's ego gets in the way sometimes no matter how hard he tries to ease himself down. And no matter how he doesn't want to admit it, he's somehow insecure. He wants to be the best, the strongest of them all even he does cruel and unforgivable things just to be satisfied. But no matter how many money he is payed, how many enemies he took down with his brutal strength, he couldn't find the satisfaction that he's looking for. Something is, what's the word? Missing?
Then you came into his life.
Your fragile, naïve, and most especially weak. You are the thing Samuel hated the most. He sees you as someone who couldn't even protect themselves and is always looking for love. Ready to please everybody even though you're already being abused. It kind of reminded him of himself when he's younger. He can see his own reflection on your eyes as you pleaded for help. He wants nothing to do with you. And he couldn't even empathize anymore. He will always try to stop the tears that threatened to fall from his always gloomy and dark eyes, letting himself to feel numb. He just felt tired and exhausted to even cry, let alone live. But something about you caught his attention. You may not be the best in looks, but you got that thing called "charm". Is it because the way you smiled? The way you're always genuinely complimenting him? Your innocence? Your body? Your positive and optimistic thinking? He couldn't even find the answers for himself.
Samuel wants to avoid you. Samuel wants to be away from you. But you're like the flaming light on the dark and he's the moth who's attracted to you. You're the light that he's been looking for all of his life. You feel so warm in the cold and dark nights. You're like the burning fire that makes him comfortable on his own skin. You thought him to be not so hard on himself. You thought him that opening up to someone isn't a sign of weakness. It's in fact a sign of strength, that building memorable and fun memories isn't something to be ashamed of. It may be a slow and steady process, but Samuel was thankful for it.
You thought him to be more human.
He can't help but to admire you more and more as he stays on your side which gladly you didn't mind. You protected him when everybody is going up against him even though he knows he's on the wrong. He really appreciates you a lot even when it's not so obvious. He does try to be caring and open. It's not only because of you who taught him to love himself even more, but you also thought him to love others. And that person that he only cared about is you.
But no matter how many times he wants to be more honest and open about his feelings, Samuel couldn't seem to do it. He felt like someone is stopping and threatening him.
He could have confessed to you on the first place.
Samuel is standing there, watching you and Jake hug as you sobbed on his arms as he smiles and patting your back. Not going to lie, he does find this suspicious at first. You promised him that when you're having issues with your personal life you will open to him. Why is Jake touching you? Hugging you? He knows he has no right to be jealous about. You and him are probably just friends and you even said to himself that it's okay to talk to others and still be loyal to one another. But he soon did change his mind when you announced that you find yourself a loving boyfriend.
"Guys, I want you to take a seat and listen to Jake right now". You asked as Sinu, Jerry, Lineman, Jason, Brad and other Big Deal members sat down, including no other than Samuel Seo himself just standing and leaning on the door. He notices the change of atmosphere on the place as you and Jake held hands together. This can't be happening.
"I just found myself a perfect girlfriend/boyfriend!" Jake shouted as the crowd cheered and congratulated for the both of you. You're smiling and happy. But of course Samuel isn't pleased with this as it let a bitter taste on his mood. It's like his life just shattered into pieces. He couldn't have you, the only person he cared and he would die for. He felt like his life is back from square one. He's the monster he is again. The hateful and prideful monster.
He's agitated, stressed, and most especially he wants to let out his rage. From all the other people you can pick besides him, you chose Jake? His enemy? His rival?
The celebration continued as you noticed your best friend missing. He wasn't in the party as Sinu poured more Soju on Lineman's shot glass as everybody cheered and half of them drunk, knocked down on the floor.
"Looking for someone?" Jake embraced your body as he leans on your shoulder making you chuckle. "I was just looking for Sammy, did you spot him around?" you questioned in an octave whisper as he answers that he didn't even have a chat with him on the first place. You managed to convince your boyfriend to look for him alone as he does seemed to be a bit curious. But he still let you go on your own.
After looking around the street and other places, you managed to find Samuel on one of the terrace buildings. He stood there watching the view as you can smell the hint of cigarettes.
"Smoking again?" you teased him as he doesn't respond to you. He just stood there minding his own business. You decided to go stay beside him. But the moment you looked on your side he was now walking away from you.
"Hey what's wrong? Are you alri-" he slapped your hand away as you tried reaching out to him. You were completely confused on why he's acting like this again. Did you do something bad?
"Hey, why are you acting like this? I didn't get into trouble again!" you shouted as he sighs. He is now walking towards you, but something felt different. Something odd and disturbing as you felt like a lamb on the wolf's trap.
"Fuck off."
"Wha-what?"
"Didn't you hear me? Fuck off."
You stood there frozen on your place as you felt offended by Samuel's words. He's not like this, well of course with you. 'He-hey what do you mean by that?" you confronted him as you felt desperate for answers. "Did I do something wrong to offend you this badly?" "Shut up." "Why?! You promised me that if you have a proble-" "I said shut the fuck up!" he shouted as he kicks the wooden table filled with ash treys and the pack of cigarettes he has bought for himself. You're now crying as warm tears fall down on your doe-like eyes. You're scared of Samuel, you're scared of something that he hates. This side of himself that he couldn't even control.
"What did I do wrong huh?" "Wha-what do you mea-" "Am I not good enough? Am I still acting like an asshole to you that you made yourself pick that retard!". It then clicked on you. Does he likes you in that way? "I fucking sacrificed myself, my own well being and pride just so I can be a good influence on you, but YOU DON'T FUCKING APPECIATE IT! YOU DON"T FUCKING CARE ABOUT ME!" "I DO CARE ABOUT YOU!" "THEN WHY HIM!" he shouted as you can see for the first time Samuel crying. It's mixed with anger, fear, desperation, and betrayal.
"I-I..." You tried to to find your words but your sobbing makes it everything worst as Samuel chuckles. It's not because of mockery. But he's desperate for words, for answers. But it looks like you couldn't even talk straight.
He walks away with him picking his coat and his fresh pack of cigarettes while you limp down on the floor crying out. He doesn't mean to hurt you, but he doesn't know how to apologize now that he had made you cry, the thing that he promised to himself that he wouldn't do so that you can trust him more.
"I'm leaving".
"What?"
"I'm not coming back to this place. Jake better treats you right because I'm not going to be here to save you". he huffed as he exhales the smoke coming from his mouth. You don't want him to leave. You want him to be on your side, but it looks like you couldn't even convince him to stay for a little longer as he walks away from the scene leaving you emotionally wounded that the scars will probably not fade for a very long time.
Samuel walks down the stairs as he sees no other than Jake himself. Panting as he ran as he noticed the muscular male smoking, but this times his eyes looks so sore and red.
"Where's Y/N?" He raised his eyebrow in question as he hears your cries of agony echoes the staircase. He stood there in shock as he tries to reach to you but Samuel is blocking the way.
"Move!"
"Get out of the way." "I said, MOVE YOU FUCKING BASTA-"
Jake couldn't even complete his sentence as Samuel punched him on the face. This continued for a while as they fought on the building throwing kicks and punches on each other until they are both bleeding and limping.
"Listen to me you little bitch, you better take care of Y/N or I'm taking her away from you myself". Samuel whispered onto Jake's ears as he pulls his ear then smashing his face on the concrete floor then walking away on the scene, bloodied and bruised. Good thing Jake was able to walk up and check on you. You told him the whole thing that happened of course. He was worried that something else might have occurred. But you reassured him that Samuel didn't inappropriately touched you, but he did sure hurt your feelings a lot making you feel guilty and shameful about your choice.
He could have been more honest with you. Now he realizes that it's not Jake who is the threat that is trying to take away you from him. It's himself. The devil inside him who's been feeding on his insecurities and feeling like you're too far from his league. The way he shouted and screamed at you, the way he handled the situation poorly and immaturely makes him hate himself more. He will never ever forgive himself.
Now Samuel is back on the streets, hungry for blood and power. You are indeed a burning flame. You're warm and you are his comfort. But the moment he has tried to get closer to you, your passion and caring side slowly burned him like his moth wings. Leaving him hurt and blinded by the illusion that he'll be ever be good enough to be with you.

Sort of belated, but it's still applicable somewhere I'm sure- Happy Halloween!
My optimistic Halloween deadline for chapter one of the werewolf fic has clearly not gone to plan, but it will be here soon! Like, before the week is out, if not tomorrow. And with a similar time frame, you all may receive photos of my Halloween costume this year! (It was Kim, if I hadn't stated that somewhere already; I just wasn't able to dye my hair for day, so I'll be taking better photos once that's done.)
The cover for chapter one is nearly done, and I was considering finishing and posting it before midnight came and went, but alas... instead, for the curious who just can't wait, here's a teaser!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And a bit of writing for you, although I want to note really quickly that I'm taking this but from the first draft on my phone and NOT the final cut. So there may be some tweaks in this passage when you see it in the coming days 👍
After a moment of whirrs and chaotic sound, the signal came clear through, filling the room with the station's jaunty little opener as the host returned from break.
"Welcome back, Toronto! Let's go ahead and recap today's forcast for those just tuning in: it's a brisk March morning out there today, be sure to wear a coat if you're headed out- and if you plan to be out late, be prepared for some snow later this afternoon or early tonight. Traffic reports seem to-" Kim listens as he drones on, mostly just keeping an ear out for anything along her route. Hearing nothing of the sort, she finishes her coffee and sets down the mug, stretching her arms up and back over her head. She fights a yawn and a wince as she does so, nearly biting her tongue at the pain she sparks stretching a bit too far. The ache spreads down her shoulders and back as she lets out a soft sigh, trying not to feel irritated with herself.
Eventually, she gets up to set her mug in the sink, intending to wash it before heading out- but as her hand reaches for the faucet, the broadcast catches her attention once more, causing her to stop and listen.
"In other news, there was apparently a rather gruesome display found in the Albion Hills Conservation Park early this morning. The bodies of several animals, primarily deer from what has been found so far, have been cropping up over the past few months in what seems to be the spree of some large, wild canine, experts warn. Attempts were made to track the creature, but so far all trails have turned cold. The park is still open, but caution has been advised if you're planning on camping in the area. Joining us now is-"
The man's voice continues to drone on as Kim quietly sets the mug down in the sink, gripping the edge of the counter while Neil lets out a short whistle. "Wow. They're finally addressing it on the news, huh? Wonder how bad it must've been."
Scott's puzzled voice rings out, a touch of fear in his tone. "Uh, addressing what? What's happening?"
"You haven't heard? Last year or so, there's been this really strange string of animal deaths all around Toronto- people think they're connected."
     "Woah, really?"
"Yeah. Some even say it's a werewolf." Neil leaned forward a little as he put emphasis on the term, lifting his hands up to mime ears atop his head.
"How come I hadn't heard about this?"
"Kind of a grim subject, man. Who'd want to talk about it? Besides, you have heard about it before. It's kind of a hot topic these days." Stephen's chair scrapes against the floor as he pushes back from the table; Kim scoots a little to the side and tries to school her expression, knowing he'll be heading towards her with his dishes.
"What?! When? I feel like I'd remember that!"
Thinking fast, Kim tries to put on her best shit starting grin, turning to address Scott. "Scott, you wouldn't remember it if the thing had leapt out of the bushes and bit you. The empty-headedness with which you float through life is fascinating, really."
Stephen and Neil chuckle a little at that, adding to the intensity of Scott's frown. Crossing his arms, he scoffs, leaning back in his chair as he mutters to himself. "I'd totally remember if it'd done that- 'cause I would've kicked its butt, whatever it is..."
Stephen shakes his head as he sets his things in the sink, reaching to turn the faucet on. He rolls up his sleeves as he lets the water run for a moment, looking at Kim out of the corner of his eye. "Hey, don't you have work today?"
She nods once in response, thankful for the out, even though she didn't need it. She pushes herself away from the counter and makes her way out of the kitchen, throwing up a hand to wave on her way passed. "Try not to do anything fatally stupid- we've got band practice tomorrow."
As she's slipping the strap of her bag over her head, she's pretty sure she hears Scott start to say something- but she doesn't have the time for it, genuinely; she's out the door and into the frosty air, taking in a deep and greedy breath to shock the senses. She lets herself have just a second to herself- then, she's off, brisk gait sure to have her sufficiently warmed against the chill by the time she reaches the video store.
So, yeah! Just a little sliver for ya. But again, barring anymore interruptions to my workflow, chapter one should be posted within a week! (And if it takes any longer than that, it'll be nearly double the length, probably, because it'll mean I've finished off the last chunk of what I'd originally plotted as chapter one.) Anyhow, if you're all the way down here reading this still, I feel like you might deserve another Treat for this Hallows Eve... hm....
Well, it's not open open yet, but if you want, you can check out the blog I've got reserved for all this! It will be an ask blog... I'm still workshopping the rules, but please: BEFORE YOU FOLLOW IT, READ THIS ⬇️⬇️⬇️

I remembered when I was fixated on Monster High for a brief period, I had a Miraculous MH AU brewing in my head. I lost my original notes, so I tried to remember and note my ideas down. (If you have suggestions, feel free to add, I'm just brainstorming)
Tumblr media
I like the idea of Graham de Vanilys being this old, rich vampire family, and Gabriel being human or another monster, like a werewolf. In MH universe there's still a rift between humans and monsters and prejudice against mixing different monster types + ancient vampire/werewolf rivalry. So I could see Adrien's grandparents resenting him for being a result of such a wrong union and him having to hide his half monster heritage (filing down his fangs, for example, if he's half human, or Gabriel editing out his monster parts in his photos) (I'm going off MH logic where vampires show up on camera)
But also I'm partial to frankenmonster Adrien because, like Frankie Stein, who came to school at just 15 days old, he's optimistic and a bit naive and just wants to make friends. And also in the context of "Frankenstein", the Creature was neglected by its creator (I still haven't read the original book, forgive me)
For Felix, I liked that in MH G3, Draculaura is a vampire studying to be a witch which is seen as something forbidden, and I just feel like it would fit him. Also could give him a fun dynamic with Marinette - like "okay, I won't tell anyone you're practicing witchcraft BUT you have to teach me".
Anyway, I imagine Felix used to be at vampire boarding school but after Colt's death, he asks Amelie to transition him to the same school Adrien wants to go to. So they're both newcomers. (Also I think Felix should get to kill his dad. Since vampires can't get sick or age, you know)
Felix - vampire
Adrien - werecat / frankenmonster?
Marinette - witch
Alya - kitsune?
Nino - idk merperson or sea monster maybe?
Chloe - bee monster / werecat?
Sabrina - insivible monster / zombie?
Lila - kitsune
Alix - alien
Kagami - dragon
Luka - naga
Kim - flying monkey
Ondine - undine (duh)
Max - pterocentaur (pegasus/centaur)
Mylene - dryad/plant monster or wererat
Ivan - golem / minotaur
Rose - cupid or cupid/plant monster hybrid
Juleka - invisible monster / weretiger?
Marc - faun (I don't want Nath to be the goat)
Nath - phoenix

Expectancy ~KTH
{Part II}
➜Pairing: Kim Taehyung x OC
➜Genre: Soulmate AU, Fluff, (Slight) Angst, (Slight) Smut, Series
Warnings: None for this part
➜Word Count: 2.7k
➜Summary: The first words soulmates ever speak to one another are written on each other's body - and those very first words immensely daunt famous CEO Kim Taehyung, to the point he's dreading to meet his own soulmate.
Tumblr media
Kim Taehyung
A variety of scenarios would, more often than not, cross Taehyung's mind regarding his first meeting with his soulmate and more specifically, what would follow after his soulmate's first words to him. Ranging from dealing with an outburst of frustration and sorrow to a response of a playful and harmless nature, he had pondered over all the possible courses those three dreadful words would lead to. Thus, he would be lying if he claimed that facing the teary-eyed girl now, wasn't one of the predicted outcomes. Even so, he still remains at a loss; cluelessly staring at her as she attempts to wipe her tears away with her sleeve-covered fists.
His heart broke at the sight.
Unhesitatingly taking a step closer, he soon embraces the weeping girl. Wrapping his arms around her and pulling her close to his body. In this moment, Taehyung feels as if he's just put the last piece missing in the puzzle of his life. Yet, one question still lingers in his mind, "Why exactly do you hate me?". It seems insensible and selfish of him to raise that kind of question right now but he's so desperate to know that it just slipped out. Alas, his response comes in the form of a small whimper soon progressing into another surge of more intense crying. Taehyung's eyes widen at the sight of the inconsolable girl in his arms and he hastily blurts out the first words of comfort that come to mind, "A-ah, it's fine. Hey, it's okay. Shh shh".
Several reassuring strokes on her back later, when her crying begins to cease, the girl in his arms lifts her head to face him. Breath getting caught in his throat, Taehyung instantly commits her beautiful features to memory. Vibrant brown eyes, bow-shaped coral lips, a mole under the corner of her left eye; on which he's almost tempted to lay a kiss, right then and there. He resists this sudden urge and instead focuses on the red hues that have appeared on her cheeks. Briefly wondering whether the reason behind them is the embarrassment from being close to him or the chill of the evening breeze, he eventually opts in favour of the second one, "You must be starting to get cold. We could go back inside to talk, if you want to". Removing his hands from around her slim figure, Taehyung offers her a small, slightly awkward smile. Brown eyes melting into their counterpart, he swears he can make out the contemplation in them as she gathers her thoughts trying to come up with what to do. "No. I don't want to go back inside, I'll just close early today". Her voice bears the same intensity her first words to him had. However, noting that she hasn't distanced herself from him yet nor shown any intention of rejecting him, he decides to take a chance...
"Alright then. Shall we go somewhere to talk, just the two of us?", he offers an earnest suggestion along with a charming smile. Either way, the worst she can do is decline in which case his alternative is to allow her some space for the time being. I could always drop by to see her tomorrow! "We could go to your place. But first, give me a moment to close the shop. Okay?", her firm tone underlines the words that leave her mouth, as if she's issuing a command rather than asking permission. He brushes it off though, this being the last thing he was expecting to hear, so he finds himself excited and optimistic by this unexpected turn of events. Be that as it may, he tries to play it cool while trying to convince himself not to get his hopes up. "Okay, I'll wait for you in the car", he answers having put on an aloof façade and offering her an easy-going smile before temporarily parting ways. Once inside the car, Taehyung takes off his mask and earbuds feeling like he's finally able to breathe. Not only is he shocked from having finally met his soulmate but also startled and at the same time impressed with her unexpected boldness; in other words, his mind is in disarray. He still can't believe he found her out of nowhere at a regular bakery, of all places! To think I might have walked out on her without ever knowing... Looking down at his soulmate tattoo, now visible from behind his watch, he smiles fondly. If it weren't for these words, he would have never met this empowered yet meek-looking young woman. Thinking back to their interaction, it seems like he was under pressure whenever she spoke or looked at him with her firm gaze. Even then, Taehyung was mesmerised by her vibrant eyes and melodic voice. It feels like he is familiarised with her, like she's seen right into his soul.
Hence the word 'soulmate', I guess...
The opening of the door from the passenger's side of the car brings Taehyung back to reality as he turns to look at his soulmate, who's quietly settling herself on the passenger's seat and proceeds to put on her seatbelt. He sheepishly rubs his chin in order to resist the temptation of reaching out and taking her hand in his own. He'll have to hold back; at least for now. Starting the car back on, he enters the highway about to head to the direction of his house when suddenly he is remined of his previous destination. "Would you mind if we made a small stop on the way?", he says indirectly asking for permission, to make sure she's okay with it. Thankfully, she is and Taehyung wastes no time to take the next exit, feeling glad he won't leave little Ae-cha disappointed. Plus, that way, he'll get to break out the news to them sooner rather than later. He smiles happily, feeling lucky that his soulmate is so understanding which also makes him less nervous to introduce her to them when the time comes. And that's when it hits him; he hasn't even asked her name! "We never got the chance to introduce ourselves, did we?", he sheepishly chuckles turning to face her after stopping at a red light. "You're right but you really don't need to introduce yourself to me, I already know who you are", she brushed him off briefly glancing his way before looking out the window. "Still, I think it's only right for me to introduce myself to my soulmate. So, I'm Kim Taehyung. Nice to meet you", he insists, not at all discouraged by her blunt words. He extends his hand to shake hers with his signature boxy smile, slightly thrilled to have an excuse to touch her once more. "I'm Kang Mi-rae", she proceeds to introduce herself as well, placing her hand in his and firmly shaking it.
She's guarded.
Be it the fact that she has barely met his gaze since getting in the car or how quickly she pulls her hand away from his after their handshake... Taehyung doesn't find it hard at all to draw that conclusion.
A few moments of silence later, he finally pulls up his car in front of a rather large yet lovely family house, "I'll be right back". After receiving a small nod of affirmation from Mi-Rae, he gets out of the car with the bag of hotteok in hand walking up to the door. After a couple of knocks, it flings open and the next thing he knows is an excited Ae-cha tightly hugging his legs, "You finally came!". Feeling his heart melt, he wastes no time to pick her up in his arms. "I did and guess what... I have a little surprise for you", he whispers playfully, delighting in the way her eyes sparkle at his words. "A surprise!? What is it!? Tell me!", she asks impatiently with an enthusiastic grin. Raising his hand that's holding the hotteok, in front of her line of vision, Taehyung lets out a laugh when he sees her bursting in a series of giddy squeals. He hands it over to her, softly pecking her cheek in the process. "Oh, Taehyung! Welcome!", a female voice interrupts their heartwarming moment as a woman approaches the two of them at the threshold. "Mum! Look, hotteok!", announces a thrilled Ae-cha to her mother who smiles warmly in return. "Wow, why don't you go eat them with the banana milk Dad bought for you yesterday?", she offers reaching out her hands to embrace her daughter. "Yeah", little Ae-cha agrees reaching for her too and soon finding herself in her darling mother's arms. "Aren't you going to come in?", the woman addressed Taehyung placing her hand cosily on his shoulder. With a slightly disappointed look taking over his face, he shakes his head negatively before responding, "Well, you see, something came up...", he mutters rubbing the nape of his neck sheepishly.
Kang Mi-rae
Waiting in the car for him to get back wasn't a problem for Mi-rae. She needed the time to take it all in, anyway. Long story short, she met her soulmate and instead of running into his arms blissfully, she uttered the worst thing she could possibly say to him. "I hate you". Who says that to a guy they've just met!? And on top of that, proceed to cry their eyes out instead of explaining themselves!? Not to mention bluntly demanding to head to his house and then being gruff while he's simply trying to engage her in conversation!? What is wrong with her!? The way she's acting, he must be thinking she's mentally unstable! Even if he does though, he is definitely not showing it. Far from it actually! Taehyung actually reacted to her absurd meltdown calmly and even brushed off her offish behaviour that followed after it. She's on the verge of blushing again, merely by the memory of how he was holding her so close to him not so long ago. She can recall the dismay in his tone when he asked her why she hated him. If only instead of crying, she told him how far from the truth that is... She doesn't hate him, not at all! She hates how long it took for him to find her. Not that it's his fault, it is just the way the universe works. She sees it now... It is meant for it to take so long; the longer it takes, the more healing it'll be. She can already sense it... Her past struggles and never-ending loneliness fade away the more time she spends with him.
Bitter thoughts aside, Mi-rae always knew that if she were to meet her soulmate, she would love him more than any other woman has ever loved a man. She would not pay mind to his background, financial or social. She would simply love the man she was destined by the universe to be with. For him to turn out to be Kim Taehyung of all people, is an entirely different issue. You'd have to be living under a rock in order not to be aware of the infamous CEO who goes by the name of Kim Taehyng. Even if she wanted to avoid knowledge of him, she couldn't, since he has been appearing on the cover of almost every magazine with a topic on celebrities. As far as she can remember, there has always been an article or sometimes even an entire section dedicated to him alone! Whether it be actual facts or mere rumours about him, the editors never missed the opportunity to publish every piece of information they had gotten their hands on. How does she know all this? Obviously, Mi-rae's not the type to read such magazines; but her friends are! They all had a major crush on Kim Taehyung and never missed a single opportunity to suck in all the information and rumours circling around him. Even if that was before they had found their soulmates, considering who ended up being her own, she now regrets not paying attention to her friends going on and on about him. Mi-rae sighs regrettably as she turns her gaze to check on what her soulmate is doing.
Is that a woman holding a child the one he's talking to!?
Eyes widening, she cranes her neck to get a better view, frowning at the sight. Don't tell me he has a family! No way, he's known to be a bachelor! But what if he's managed to keep this part of his private life a secret!? But why would he come here now? Probably to let his wife know about him finding his soulmate and assuring her that he's going to reject- Enough, enough! Ask him to clarify his intentions when he gets back. No sooner had she collected herself than Taehyung got in the car. "Sorry to have kept you waiting but I needed to deliver hotteok to my little girl, she was craving it!", he offers her an apologetic smile and puts on his seatbelt before starting the car. "Was that your daughter?", is the question that never becomes audible; the words caught in Mi-rae's throat dreading the affirmative answer that might follow it. Instead, a good-natured smile is shown in return, "Don't worry about it".
After a quiet 10-minute car ride, Taehyung finally pulls up in front of his house. House, more like a mansion! Stepping out of the car first, he opens the door for her and holds out his hand. Placing her small hand in his large one - hoping he won't notice it slightly trembling - she glances at him with a tense expression before stepping out of the car herself and letting him show her the way. Once inside his house slash mansion, Taehyung lets go of her hand to remove his coat and she's suddenly overtaken by an unprecedented feeling of emptiness. Not the emptiness she has felt before; that lonesome and unfulfilling sentiment, but rather a sense of yearning for skinship - one that seems only he can satisfy. The touch of his hands on her shoulders instantly diminishes the feeling and she whips her head towards him only to see him smiling at her affectionately. Slightly pulling on her coat gesturing his intention to help her take it off, he pulls it off her shoulders and then her arms. She notes that she's extremely aware of every part of her body that his hands brush upon. Pivoting herself to face him, she watches as he hangs the two coats. "Do you mind if I change into something more comfortable?", his request breaks her out of her staring. "Not at all".
Sat in a comfy armchair is how she decides to wait for him, her eyes scanning the space around her while her thoughts swirl in uneasiness. All she wants to do is lose herself in his arms, diving into the warmth of his embrace but- How can she do that if there's already a woman he's chosen to hold like this!? I have to ask him! What I'll do with the answer- Well, it depends on the answer! "I'm back, sorry to keep you waiting yet again", his apology falls on deaf ears when she raises her gaze towards him.
How can someone's appearance be so simple and so flawless at the same time...?
This man... He's utter perfection.
Clearing her throat to compose herself, she rises from her seat before he gets the chance to approach her. "It's fine. Actually, I have something I want to ask you", she manages to keep her tone steady and serious despite being overwhelmed by dread. Taking a step closer to her, he envelopes her hands in his, looking directly into her eyes; his gaze so intense it feels like it can pierce right through her. "You can ask me anything, sweetheart", he says in a voice so low it almost resembles a purr. In an attempt to ignore the goosebumps that immediately spread on her body and the fastened beating of her heart, she focuses on uttering her question. "I-I... I wanted to a-ask you... if you... Um", she stumbles through her words unable to tear her gaze off of him. Her fidgety state distracts her from noticing the way Taehyung starts leaning towards her. Wait, is he going to ki-! "Was that woman earlier your wife!?", she ends up almost shrieking at his face with her eyes shut fearfully. She didn't want to phrase it so bluntly but what's done is done. All that's left now is his next words and whether they're going to leave her relieved or broken...

Lee Je Hoon's Chief Detective 1958 starts today. Can't wait to watch! I enjoyed him in Taxi Driver and really want to watch through his filmography eventually.
Lovely Runner is knocking my socks off! Byeon Wook Seok and Kim Hye Yoon are killing both the comedy and the drama. Wook Seok is the cutest loser in love! The mystery and unexpected twists are fun and interesting. I hope this quality storytelling continues. I'm on the edge of my seat.
I only have 3 episodes left of Love Me Love My Voice which has been wonderful and heartwarming. I love the main romance but the friendships and secondary romances have been given ample time to shine as well. I'm always here a good found family. I really like how the dramatic readings and song perfomances have been carefully woven into the story to further the character development. Definitely recommend.
Now we come to our debrief on The Smile Has Left Your Eyes. Whoa, what a rollercoaster. The first half was interesting with many characters' selfish and dark intentions mixed with a little mystery were set up in contrast to our optimistic, self-sacrificing female lead. However, the second half drowned in major events happening and then being dismissed as if they never happened, multiple secret keepers refusing to tell the secret multiple times an episodes even when asked point blank when the answers could stop so many bad things from happening, and the existential dread I felt about what the big reveal was going to be only for it to completely dismissed. (FYI I found out what I thought was going to be the big reveal IS the actual reveal in the darker Japanese version it's based on.) After episode 14, I wasn't sure I could continue watching the show. But after a night of uneasy sleep, I decided to finish it the next morning on double speed to get through it. I did watch the last 10 minutes at regular speed. While there were some well done things about their relationship in the second half, it couldn't save the show for me even though I went in knowing this was not an HEA. Overall, I was just left feeling angry and exhausted. As a Seo In Guk fan, this was a show I had long wanted to see, just to find out what my opinion on it would be. I'm sad that the SIG fanmeet has been post-poned, hopefully I will be able to make the next date. But this means I feel okay to stop my SIG show binging so I will not be watching Hello Monster anytime soon. I'm actually impressed with how much of SIG's filmography I've already seen (7 shows as a ML, 4 shows as a cameo, and 1 movie). I'm pretty sure it's more than I've seen any other kdrama actor or actress.
After a bad experience at the new dentist yesterday, where the hygienist manhandled my teeth and they tried to upsell me on services, I was in need of a comfort rewatch. I've been thinking alot about Lee Jun Young lately and decided to break out the first thing I ever saw him in, Imitation. I was only going to watch a few favorite parts from an episode or two and ended up binging my favorite parts of most of the series. lol I really hope his upcoming Cinderella romcom with Pyo Ye Jin is going to be good.
I slowly picked Vigilante back up again this week and was excited to see Lee Joon Hyuk's character finally emerge to add a boost of energy and chaos to the story.
Now that I've got some time and the second half of the series has finally dropped, I will continue watching Chae Jong Hyeop's Eye Love You.

a month ago, I had an idea about an Omori AU that I created and it's only now that I FINALLY have written more or less concrete notes.
Faraway Town
The main characters are between 16 and 20 years old. 4 years ago, despite the stress, Mari and Sunny took part in their first recital together; it was a success. After that, Sunny says he wants to quit violin, which Mari accepts and congratulates him for at least trying and taking the initiative to quit.
After a tragic event, the group of friends has become more fragile and broken.
Hero tries to be optimistic but hides a certain sadness..
Aubrey is nervous and goes to church often, avoiding her old group of friends - has potentially befriended Kim, Vance, Mikhael, Charlie and Angel
Kel seems bitter and distant - maybe befriended the Hooligans too (?)
Mari hardly goes out - she's been trying to decipher her brother's diary lately
Basil is the only one left and tries to pick up the pieces
Sunny is missing/lost
Enchanted
Wonderful world imagined by Sunny and Kel, the atmosphere is initially heroic fantasy but over time, Kel sees a darkened and abandoned world, becoming dark fantasy.
At first Kel sees himself as a child before gradually becoming what he is in the present. The child becomes a character in its own right, Kel is annoyed in his presence.
Hector is a fox spirit who guides Kel through this new world - he also helps him revisit childhood memories, mostly memories where he and Sunny were the founders.
Notes
Initially, when Kel is a child, his main mission is to find Mari with Sunny. Except that this time he will meet Hector who will become his new teammate.
Mewo is a cat-dragon in Enchanted.
Sunny is occasionally spotted in this world, but Kel never manages to reach him in time - he's often seen sleeping as well.
Mari is very invested in Sunny's diary where he put notes and drawings from Enchanted - she hopes to find answers there

BANANA DIVISION : CHARACTER CREATION.
Tumblr media
In Banana Division, Minkyu's character is a 24-year-old office worker named Kim Junhwan. Junhwan was born in 1999 and had a difficult childhood due to his broken family. He grew up with a single mother who worked hard to raise him and his younger brother, Junkyu, after their father left when he was only two. He had a difficult childhood where he struggled with self-esteem and often felt like an outsider.
His schoolmates were unkind to him, and his mother, wanting to protect him from the harsh realities of the world, often sugarcoated the truth. Junhwan's past has shaped him into the person he is today, with a guarded demeanour and a surprisingly cheerful disposition. He graduated from college with a degree in communications and has been an integral part of the office for over a year.
Personality-wise, Junhwan is an extroverted person who loves to meet new people and socialise with those around him. He also goes out of his way to make plans for the group he's currently in and tries to be the leader even though, as everyone in his office knows, he's not. Junhwan is said to be one of the friendliest people in the office and is strangely optimistic when given any circumstance, even when it's a bad outcome, or he's meant to be stressed over something. Somehow everything's just more fun when Junhwan is around.
Junhwan has a deep sense of loyalty towards his friends and would go to great lengths to support them in times of need. He loves to explore the city's nightlife scene, socialise with friends at bars, always dresses to impress, and enjoys a good game of soccer to distract himself from the daily life in the office.
It's believed that he has an insatiable thirst for novelty and excitement, which drives him to constantly seek out new challenges and adventures. Some speculate that this drive is so strong that he even finds ways to inject excitement into everyday tasks, such as pranking his colleagues or sneaking around the office like a spy. He has the quirk of creating a new catchphrase every week, and he enjoys congratulating his boss by giving them a high-five whenever they do something impressive.
Additionally, he tends to imitate people's voices, especially when he wants to get under their skin.

The Treasury Department is holding up the implementation of a law to catch crypto tax evaders, endangering billions of dollars in federal revenue and upsetting members of the president's own party. In order to implement a 2021 law in time for the current tax year, the agency first missed its deadline. After more delays, it might now be almost too late for the tax year 2024. It was anticipated that closing a loophole that may make it simpler for cryptocurrency investors to evade taxes would earn $28 billion over a ten-year period, but falling cryptocurrency values could have changed that estimate. The administration's strategy to force cryptocurrency investors to follow the same standards as everyone else includes the tax regulations. Currently, the Biden administration is being urged to act quickly by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Massachusetts) and three other senators. When President Biden signed them into law in 2021, these new regulations were desperately needed. In a letter to Treasury officials this week, Warren, Bob Casey (D., Pa.), Richard Blumenthal (D., Conn.), and Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) stated that the urgency has only grown over the previous two years. Given the chance, tax evaders and the cryptocurrency intermediaries ready to assist them will continue to manipulate the system, take advantage of weaknesses, and steal billions of dollars from the U.S. government each year. Don't give them the opportunity. Brokers won't be required to report any information until the administration produces final rules addressing issues like the definition of a broker, according to statements made by the Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service in December. After more than seven months, Treasury still hasn't made the initial official move of submitting a proposal, which would start a months- or years-long process before those final rules are completed. According to Treasury spokeswoman Kristin Lynch, the department is working hard to publish these crucial and intricate regulations soon. James Creech, a tax attorney at the San Francisco-based accounting firm Baker Tilly, claimed that we're almost at the stage where the delay is overshadowing the regulations themselves. Given the reporting systems that brokers will need to create and verify, he indicated that 2024 would be an optimistic start date for implementation. The crypto industry campaigned vehemently against the tax regulations when Congress included them in an infrastructure package in 2021. The definition of a crypto broker in the statute, according to some lobbyists, is excessively ambiguous. According to Ji Kim, head of global policy at the lobbying organization Crypto Council for Innovation, a broad definition of broker might result in liability for cryptocurrency businesses that can't comply, like software developers, crypto miners, and wallet providers. A group of legislators, led by Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, tried to change the statute to make the definition more specific, but their efforts failed. Once the regulations are put into place, they will provide the IRS with more details about the profits achieved by cryptocurrency investors and let those investors know that the IRS is aware of their gains. Clear standards may also help the business mature and become more standardized, according to tax lawyer Creech. It will also make tax compliance easier for cryptocurrency investors who wish to meet their commitments. He said it would be beneficial for both the industry and the taxpayer who wants to comply if those who trade cryptocurrency received the same 1099-B form as those who trade in Schwab accounts. A larger lobbying campaign by the crypto business includes the argument over the postponed tax regulation. Crypto companies and the venture capital firms that support them claim that digital currencies like bitcoin and ether, as well as the blockchain technology that powers them, are groundbreaking breakthroughs that should be treated differently from the rest of finance.
They have spent tens of millions of dollars supporting political causes and pleading with Congress to pass unique legislation to support their businesses. The development of cryptocurrency has presented difficulties for tax officials, who initially found it difficult to classify it. According to the IRS, crypto is property rather than currency, thus any earnings from sales are subject to capital gains tax. Regarding enforcement, the IRS has made an effort to break through the concealment that is a key component of cryptocurrencies' appeal. The Biden administration has suggested more modifications to cryptocurrency tax regulations, including prohibitions on so-called wash sales, in which investors sell property, realize a loss, and then promptly acquire it back. These ideas would have raised more than $31 billion, but they haven't made any headway in Congress. Source link

my opinions on 3x04 that no one asked for
Tumblr media
KJ as Fred
They really did a great job making KJ look like young Luke. Having said that... I don’t buy him as young Fred. I just can’t see this being the ensemble of a kid who drives a shitty VW van and has a band he named after himself. However, I really do dig the cuffed jeans and socks. I just need my Fred in flannel and a t-shirt. The hair is way too neat for my taste.
Tumblr media
Cole as FP
He just... still looks like Jughead to me. Sorry. He looks like someone took away his beanie and Archie let him borrow his jacket. Sure, Cole looks enough like Skeet to pass as his son, but to pass as him? Mmmm. Sticking him in a white t-shirt doesn’t give me young Skeet vibes at all. Sorry.
Tumblr media
Lili as Alice
I was so ready to be really critical young Alice, but I love this look. I hate how much I love this look! The outfit, the make up, the hair... This came right out of my head. However, I just know they’re going to make Alice do stuff I don’t like in this episode. I do have an issue with Alice wearing her serpent jacket to school because, you know, no school would ever allow students to wear gang attire in school. But this is Riverdale so I don’t know why I expect that to be an issue.
Tumblr media
Camila as Hermione
I’m confused. Cami looks adorable in the uniform and glasses, but what’s happening here? Did Hermione just transfer to Riverdale High from Catholic school? Why does she have on a uniform at all? Is she still a mean girl, because it looks like they’re trying to dress her as a nerd.  I love the straighten hair, because it’s a very Hermione feel. But then there’s this newer still (not sure the source but i got it from @inthemoodforchaos) of her with Hiram where she’s actually looking very Veronica-esque and I don’t know how to feel. She ditched the glasses and the uniform and there is Hiram putting pearls on her. I’m just very confused what is going on here.
Tumblr media
Michael as Hiram
I can talk about that Thermos for hours, I swear I can. But holy shit, this is so perfect. Getting Mark’s son to play young Hiram is the best thing about this episode. Possibly the only good thing about this episode. Since he doesn’t play a kid on the show already, he’s the one person who won’t have to worry about everyone confusing him with his child counterpart. Also... can we talk about how that jacket is too big for him? I’m going to die, it’s so cute.
Tumblr media
Madelaine as Penelope
We’ve been blessed. The idea of Penelope dressed like Cheryl had me cringing. I had no idea what they would do to her, but this is amazing. Nerdy Penelope! I swear, I couldn’t breath when I first saw these pictures. The glasses, the denim jumper, the yellow blazer. My heart stopped. I can really look at this picture and forget about Cheryl. I want to protect this girl with my whole heart. Just please, don’t make Mads and Trevor kiss because that will ick me out so hard.
Also, never forget that Mads is just playing Penelope, not Mary.
Tumblr media
Ashleigh as Sierra
I was really afraid they’d try to make Sierra look like Josie when I always really wanted her to be like Robin’s character in Head of the Class. And damn, I get such strong Darlene vibes from her outfit and hair! I love. I have so many questions about the fortune teller though. Is it part of the game or was Sierra just that girl who went around telling people’s fortunes? Are they typically called fortune tellers or is that a regional thing? What do other people call them? How is she so adorable?
Tumblr media
Casey as Tom
No. Just... no. This is just Kevin having a bad hair day. Fuck, that is an shirt Kevin would probably wear. I don’t dig this. At the very least they could have lightened Casey’s hair a little. Maybe thrown glasses on him. I just can’t unsee Kevin here. They need to Tom him up a bit.
Tumblr media
Trevor as Clifford
Look... Trevor doesn’t look a goddamn thing like Barclay. Like at all. But I am so desperate for him to be on this show, I will allow this. Trevor is so slim and Barclay’s a broad guy, but I don’t really expect them to bulk him up or anything. This is all very strange, but my only real complaint is I hate the idea of Clifford being the same age as the rest of the parents. How did no one know about Claudius in that case? Barclay is like 15 years older than Nat in real life. I’m really hoping he’s just... visiting Penelope in school? I don’t know what I’m hoping. All I know is Trevor better have some fucking lines.
Tumblr media
Charles as Marty
We know fuck all about Rick and Marty yet, but I adore everything about this look. This is a Reggie look if Reggie went to school in the 90s. A denim jacket with only one sleeve rolled up over a jersey. The dayglo backpack. The chain. The sunglasses. All he’s missing is a thick sweatband. This is amazing. I don’t care if this is his only scene and he doesn’t look like a thing like the guy who plays adult Marty. I love this. Like I had no interest in him even being in this episode, but this is just too fucking good to not love.
??? as Hal
??? as Mary
Don’t even get me started on these two. Ugh.
Overall, I am actually pleasantly surprised with a lot of the looks. Maybe I’m just being very forgiving because this episode has already let me down more than any of you can understand. The aesthetics are the only thing I have to look forward to now, so I guess I’ll take them.

types of enhypen kisses
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
이희승、LEE HEESEUNG
heeseung - the neck. heeseung is the type to wrap his arm around you after a long days and kiss your neck as a sign of security. his lips graze your neck, while making small noises to show his pleasure of doing it. in the process, a million things run through his mind but the main thing was the confusion on how someone as beautiful and amazing as you could be with him.
“i dont deserve you, y/n”
박제이 、PARK JONGSONG
jay - the forehead. in jay’s mind you are perfect to him, most optimistic, and can do no wrong, so when you have a tough day. he knows the one thing that will calm you down, his kisses. jay brings his head down, while slightly grabbing the sides of yours and lean down to give you a long peck on your forehead after pulling away he’ll mutter sweet nothings with praises.
“my pretty girl”
심재윤 、SIM JAEYUN
jake - the lips. although it’s a traditional way of kissing, jake’s kisses are anything but traditonal. no matter where you both are, jake will instantly grab your waist pulling you into a deep and passionate kiss. he’ll grasp the back of your neck pulling you in deeper while his free hand is holding your waist trying to pull you even closer.
‘‘baby, youre so precious’‘
박성훈 、PARK SUNGHOON
sunghoon - the hands. because of hoonie’s shyness his kisses are somewhat limited especially in front of his members. hoon will grab your hand and softly place multiple kisses on it while saying quick compliments after each smooch.
‘‘i love you, sweeetheart’‘
김순우 、KIM SUNOO
sunoo - the nose. sunoo knows the most perfect way to make you fell good and happy after a tiring day and its through his nose kisses. you never complain about your day to sunoo because you don’t want to bring his spirits down but today was different. you broke down in front of him crying hysterically which broke his heart. he picked you up placing you on your kitchen counter and rapidly pecked you nose.
‘‘stop crying princess, it will get better’‘
양정원 、YANG JUNGWON
jungwon - the cheek. when this leader falls in love he falls hard which show cases the kisses that you both partake in. obliviously, he is a little appheasive about kissing so he make up for it with kissing your cheek. in his words ‘you're a princess should be kissed on the cheek at all times a day,’ which is what he does for a very long time.
“one kiss please’‘
니시무라 리키 、NISHIMURA RIKI
niki - the corners of the mouth. the maknae in no way, shape or form has every been relationship so he is very shy with his kisses. he first started with pecking your cheek but now he tries hard to kiss you in a more loving way with out going out of his comfort zone so he begins to kiss the corners of your mouth almost as if it was a smooch on your lips, just a simple middle.
“y/n stop moving around, i want a peck before i go”

‘Let’s go girls.’
Hearing that sentence alone could make you throw a bus. There was something about some good ol’ Shania that really got you going. And this exact song was exactly what you needed to hear while getting ready to go out that night.
“Do you think they’d play this if I asked?” you absentmindedly asked your members as you tried to fix your eyeliner.
“I don’t think anyone else in the club would really like the song as much as you and Mari,” Jieun chuckled as she pressed her false eyelashes into her real ones.
“I’ll pay them any amount of money.”
“Don’t tell them that,” Eunji warned. “They’ll get you to.”
Your members were happy to see you were finally feeling at least a little better. You were hiding away in your room less, which was improvement. So they decided to take advantage of your more optimistic state to go out for the night. But this time, they decided to go out to one of those clubs that was specifically for ‘celebrities’ or whatever. It wasn’t so much that they didn’t want to be noticed or have anything put on the internet, but they were more so concerned for you. They figured the less stress, the better for your mental health.
As the twelve of you finished getting ready, you sang along softly to the music -- as opposed to Mira who was full-on belting the lyrics, pausing in between touching up her blush to use her brush as a microphone.
When the song was over, you paused your makeup to look over to Mira, saying, “I think we need to listen to that again.”
She smirked with a nod as she grabbed her phone, “I like the way you think. Pregame, anyone?”
-
Pregaming would’ve been a good call, had Soey’s boyfriend and his group not shown up. It wasn’t that you didn’t like them -- you adored them, actually -- it was just that they were being a little too...generous.
Back during your trainee days, it was relatively common to run into senior groups. Soey just so happened to end up sneaking around with a certain Kim Taehyung because he was worried people would think he was taking advantage of a trainee with his senior status. When your group formed, you and the rest of the girls had a pretty big suspicion, but neither of them would admit it until about a month into your debut. They were still hidden to the public, but their respective social circles were aware that they were an item.
So seeing your groups together, Namjoon took it upon himself to order a round of shots. You’d already done 3 back at the dorms, but one more wouldn’t hurt, right?
But then Taehyung declared another round, announcing, “For ______ to get over her situationship!”
Of course Taehyung knew all about you and Vernon. Soey told him everything. But that didn’t really mean that he told all of his members. He didn’t have much reason to bring up you or Hansol, so he kept those details to himself.
“What happened?” Jimin frowned upon hearing this.
You were already feeling the affects of the alcohol, so you leaned against the bar and rolled your eyes, launching yourself into this big schpiel about what had happened between you and Seventeen’s Vernon. And the members listened diligently -- even Yoongi, who seemed more preoccupied sipping his whiskey and staring down at his glass, but still kept his ears trained on your voice.
And that was the beginning of your drunken downfall, because now all of them felt bad and wanted you to have your fantastic ‘getting over him’ night. Taehyung bought a round of shots, Jimin bought you a cocktail, and then Hoseok bought you another when your first was gone. And because of their connections and them introducing you to other people, they were buying you free shots and drinks as well, just as a friendly way to say ‘nice to meet you’.
One of those people was, of course, Jackson Wang. Namjoon had introduced him as an ‘avid partier’, to which you had made a joke about liking to party, as well. So you two naturally gravitated toward each other -- though were you more sober, you probably wouldn’t have gotten that far. You had too much alcohol in you for the amount of confidence you had, and your stupid ego just kept getting more and more inflated with each stupid pick-up line Jackson threw at you with his sweet smile and twinkling eyes. He might’ve just been trying to sleep with you, or maybe he was genuinely flirting, or maybe he was just trying to be nice but the alcohol was making him a little too bold. Either way, your growing god complex was obsessed with it and wanted more.
“Can I ask you something?” Jackson said out of the blue as the two of you sat on one of those fancy leather couches where you’d typically see VIP people sitting and ordering drinks with their entourages.
“Yeah, what’s up?”
“Since you said you like to party so much,” he began with a smirk, “can I ask what your favorite song to party to is? I’m friends with the DJ so I figured maybe I could play it for you.”
He probably assumed you’d say some trashy 2000′s song that you could grind against him to. He probably thought playing a song you liked would lead to something a little hotter than what the reality was.
Because a gasp left your mouth as your eyes went wide, and a dumb, wide smile spread across your face as you asked, “Y’know Shania Twain?”

ENHYPEN says 'i love you' for the first time
genre: fluff
pairing(s): enhypen x fem!reader
warnings:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
༉‧₊˚✧ LEE HEESEUNG
heeseung was never one to feel any shame in saying "i love you"
i mean, if he cares for you, he'll want to let you know!
words of affirmation are def his love language
it happens for the first time early on in your relationship
he barely thinks anything of it, muttering "i love you" before he leaves the house
you stop in your tracks, a little shocked he can say it so casually for the first time
"have you...ever said that before?" you ask, trying to hide the evident blush on your face
"hm, i guess i haven't" he says, shrugging it off "well, i love you"
still in shock, you mumble a small "i love you too" in response, making him chuckle a bit
when he leaves for work, he leaves as if nothing happened
not knowing you were smiling like an idiot the rest of the day
it becomes a pretty regular occurrence after that
rest of the members under the cut !
༉‧₊˚✧ PARK JONGSEONG
feelings have always confused him a bit
what he feels? how he feels? when he feels it?
yeah, not his thing
but when he started dating you, it felt like everything fell into place
you were like a little ray of sunshine in his life, he wanted to hold you and never let go
one day, you're sitting together at a café, as he listens to you rant about some new show you're watching
he's not really listening, but you look pretty damn cute
realization washes over him like a wave, and suddenly, he knows exactly what he's feeling, how he feels it, and it's all happening right now.
"hey, i love you."
he suddenly says, catching you off guard for a second
"w- what?"
he chuckles at your reaction, simply shaking it off and smiling fondly
༉‧₊˚✧ SIM JAEYUN
jake falls in love hard and fast
and so, even though he knows how he feels already, he's unsure if you're ready to hear it
he doesn't wanna rush you into anything, especially because he wants to get things right with you
so instead, he says it very subtly
he says it when you're not around to hear, right after he leaves for work, or when you hang up the phone.
he says it when he sees a photo of you on his phone, or when you bring him food as a surprise
he says it in his head every time he sees you
and so, when he says it to your face for the first time, it feels so right
"i love you every day you're here, and every day you're not. i fall in love with you all over again every time i look into your eyes, and i'll love you until i no longer can."
and he'll say it again, he'll say it as many times as you want him too
༉‧₊˚✧ PARK SUNGHOON
sunghoon is a hopeless romantic who's been hurt before
he doesn't open up his heart to just anyone, he's tried that
so when you come strutting into his life, he's absolutely and utterly terrified
he's scared he's met someone who can potentially break through his icy walls, much like the others did
it's bitterly alarming at first, but you just have to show him you aren't like that
and so you do just that, you tell him you'll wait for him, and you understand that he's still healing
it's such a breath of fresh air for sunghoon, to have someone like you around
the L word, that he had previously thought could only bring him pain
but he just had misconceptions of it
because this is love, what he has with you
and so he says it quietly and calmly
no fireworks, no loud audience, just you and him
"god, i'm in love with you."
༉‧₊˚✧ KIM SUNOO
despite his warm exterior, sunoo isn't as optimistic as you'd expect
he's a miserable pessimist, as well as an amorous idealist
(a horrible combination, if you were to ask him)
he's got this idea in his head of the perfect person to fall in love with, but he's sure they don't exist
at this point, he's absolutely given up on love, unless his ideal type magically walks through the door
which could never happen, right?
now imagine his surprise when a starry-eyed, messy haired, goofball of a student strolls into his class?
you aren't his type, you're the opposite, in fact.
but he's so drawn to you, he can't explain it
he's staring at you in class one day, when you suddenly turn around to face him
"i love you."
it comes out in a hiccup, and he hasn't even realized he said it until you're staring at him like a madman
"i just asked for a pencil"
he's embarrassingly flustered, muttering what you assume are apologies
maybe sunoo's found his match
༉‧₊˚✧ YANG JUNGWON
jungwon has always liked things going according to plan
he liked order, and he got rather upset when they strayed
and falling in love was definitely not on his itinerary
that's why you piss him off so much
you're so perfect, you make him disregard all of his rules and plans
and even though he'll deny it a million times, yang jungwon was miserably in love with you
he can barely wrap his head around the idea, that he could ever fall in love
i mean, how could he be so irresponsible?
but something about you makes yang jungwon feel like it's okay to break the rules
"why are you so uptight all the time? you should let go, just say what's on your mind"
what's on his mind? alright
"i think i'm in love with you"
"...what?"
༉‧₊˚✧ NISHIMURA RIKI
riki's never really known what it's like to fall in love
he'd heard stories about it, watched movies and television, but he doubted something like that could ever happen to him
yeah he'd had a crush on you since primary school, but it couldn't be anything serious, right?
wrong.
every day he sees you, he fears he falls more in love with you than the last
he's so irrevocably in love with you he doesn't know how to deal with it
and that didn't change when you started dating either
he always thought it felt like a dream, being with you
and maybe that movie theatre love can be for him, too
no complications, he knows what he feels now.
"y/n..."
"yeah?"
"you know what, i love you. i really do"

Kim Hongjoong doesn’t like the word ‘cult.’ He prefers ‘sect.’ pairing: ateez x fem reader genre: cult au, thriller, angst check warnings on AO3

Tumblr media
The question of escape pulls heavily on your mind as the next few hours drag along.
Mingi had returned with your lunch and informed you that Wooyoung would swing by later to start your training, but ‘later’ has yet to come and you have been left alone with your thoughts for entirely too long. What your training will entail, you have no idea, but you can imagine that it couldn’t be much worse than ruminating on the circumstances of your situation.
Escape. You really need to come up with an idea, but you can genuinely think of nothing. There are too many factors and too many components to account for. A minute slippage in detail could completely ruin your chances, which is not something that you want to risk. You have no idea what the punishment for trying to escape would be, and you honestly do not want to put your imagination to it. There’s any number of things that could happen, none of them kind. However… Hongjoong had said something about favoring you… and Seonghwa clearly respects Hongjoong’s opinion (even if he disagrees—which he’s made clear enough)... so they probably wouldn’t hurt you… right?
Maybe that’s too optimistic. You know for sure that you shouldn’t count on it. Afterall, what the hell have you done for Hongjoong to have such an opinion of you? What’s keeping him from deciding that you’re more trouble than you’re worth to keep alive? Nothing that you know of. And you sure as hell don’t want to find out where the line is.
That all being said, you still must escape. You can’t let any sense of complacency fill your mind or your body. You can’t allow yourself to become comfortable for even a second. There’s the lingering possibility that you wouldn’t be able to pull yourself out from that mindset, no matter how strong-willed you would like to think you are. That’s how things like this operate. They get you comfortable and make you question why you would even want to leave in the first place. You forget the comforts of your old life and decide that the hassle isn’t worth it; that you’re perfectly fine right where you are. You will not allow yourself to fall into that trap.
If not for yourself, then for Mingi.
While Mingi is your priority, you realize that you will have to get out before you will be able to retrieve him. From the conversations that you’ve had with him, its clear to you that he would not willingly leave with you. You’ll have to leave him behind in the short-term to help him in the long-term. Of course, this was what you had thought the first time that you tried to leave, when you actually still thought that it would be relatively easy. But the logic still holds true. You shouldn’t waste your time or energy trying to convince Mingi to leave with you, especially when there is the risk that he could tell someone else. Not that you think he would ever do something to purposefully harm you, of course, but, well… you saw him the last time.
Putting all of that aside, you still have absolutely no plan at all. Half of you says to wait it out a little bit, to let the water settle around you before trying anything. The other half wants to run like hell and not wait a single second longer.
Honestly, what’s stopping you from getting up right now and walking out? Telling Nayeon that you’re on your way to meet Wooyoung and instead running down the drive?
You let the thought entertain your mind for only a few seconds before shaking your head to clear it. That would be so idiotic that you can’t even allow yourself to daydream about it. It’s the middle of the day, people are out and about. You would be caught before you could even reach the cornfields 50 feet away. And then what would happen to you?
You shudder to think. Again, you have no idea what you’re safe from; how far Hongjoong’s curiosity can save you. Quite frankly, you have no desire to find out. It’ll be better to wait and think of a coherent plan. You’ll likely only get one shot at escape, or at least only one in the foreseeable future. You assume that any failed attempt would lead to being put under watch so, if you failed, it would be quite a while before you could make another attempt. But, Christ, you can’t wait here for months. No way, no how. The longer that you’re here, the more risks are run-up. The risk that you would become comfortable, the risk that you would be harmed, the risk that you could become attached to some of these people. None of these are things that you want to happen. None of them can happen.
While you acknowledge the need to be smart about your escape, there is also the impending sense of dread screaming at you to get out as soon as possible. To take your first opportunity and not look back until you have the local law enforcement with you. Something in you almost thinks that it would be better to die trying to escape than remain in this place, but it is very quickly shut down by your need to protect Mingi. Without you, there’s no hope of him ever getting out of this place. Sure, Hongjoong would probably eventually be found out and the cult would be dissolved, but would Mingi survive until then? Would he be too far gone? Is he already?
It hurts your heart to consider the possibilities. The time that the two of you had been apart is enough for your lifetimes. You couldn’t leave him here. You won’t.
At least until it’s time for you to make your escape, then you’ll have to make a minor exception to this rule. But you’ll cross that bridge when you get there.
“(Y/n)?” Your name is spoken as a question from the door to the infirmary.
You snap out of your thoughts and turn to face the owner of the familiar voice, Wooyoung. He’s awkwardly standing half-way in and half-way out of the door frame, his hands bracing himself on either side of the frame. “Are you ready to go? You seem pretty deep in thought.”
“Oh,” you start, throwing the covers off of your lower half. Thankfully, Mingi had brought you some fresh clothes that you were able to change into earlier. They were the plain, simple clothes worn by everyone else, adorned with the hourglass on the collar. You had tried to pry it off, but the damn pin wouldn’t budge. “Yeah, sorry, I’m ready.”
You hop out of the hospital bed and make your way to Wooyoung’s side. “Good,” he starts, pushing himself off of the door frame once you reach his side, “I’m eager to have another person helping! Do you have any experience with food prep?”
You two make your way down the hall, passing Nayeon (who wishes you good luck) and heading toward a door. “I’m- or was, sorry, I was a barista.” It’s at this moment that you truly have no idea where you are. You hadn’t been conscious when you were brought to the infirmary, so you have no way of really knowing where you are in relation to anything else.
“Really?! I was too, before!” Wooyoung’s voice gets higher as he gets excited. “I will be honest, though, not many of those skills are applicable in our kitchen. We do a lot of meat preparation and stuff like that. Did you ever really cook for yourself? Do you know how to gut or skin?” He opens the door once the two of you reach it, and you are surprised to find that it opens to the outdoors. Good to know, you suppose.
Pondering Wooyoung’s questions leaves you at a dead end. You never really cooked for yourself, no, and you absolutely have never gutted or skinned an animal in your life. Frankly, the prospect makes you a little sick to your stomach. “I mostly ate out, and I’ve definitely never done any meat preparation.” You frown to yourself at the thought.
Wooyoung leads you across the lawn and you’re able to get your bearings straight. The chapel looms to your right while the large main building is directly across the way. You turn to observe the building you had just exited, but it seems like it must be much too large to only house the infirmary. What else might exist there, you honestly don’t know.
“Well, that’s okay!” Wooyoung reassures you, smiling as you make your way to the main building. “We all start somewhere. If I’m being honest with you, I threw up the first time Jongho attempted to teach me gutting, but I got through it! You seem more head-strong than myself,” Wooyoung laughs, “so you’ll probably be fine!”
“Uh-huh,” you agree, not at all sure of that statement. “What about actual food preparation, can I do that?”
You two reach the entrance of the main building and Wooyoung pulls the door open for you as he responds, “Oh, yeah, definitely! I just don’t want you to go in blind like I did.”
You awkwardly thank him as you two continue through the building. Wooyoung takes you to the cafeteria and points out a set of doors in the far left corner, “Those lead us to the kitchens.”
You approach the door together and he, once again, pushes it open for you. You’re greeted by the hot air that always seems to accompany industrial kitchens wafting over your face. You flinch back from the door slightly, but Wooyoung presses onward. You follow after him as he goes deeper into the room before stopping and turning to face you. He opens his arms, gesturing around your surroundings, “This is it! The kitchen! I’ll give you a tour first!”
Before you can respond, he’s turned back around and set off. You pass by many things that he points out, things like ovens and stove-tops and grill-tops and counters specifically for cutting meat and the like. Everything is made of piercing stainless steel, shined well enough to leave an afterimage of reflected light in your eyesight. They seem to have every possible kitchen appliance available, not that you would really know.
Once you reach the far wall, Wooyoung starts pointing out the various doors and where they lead. There’s a pantry for dry goods, multiple storage cabinets, a walk-in refrigerator, a walk-in freezer (which Wooyoung makes a point to tell you is impossible to get locked in), and a meat locker.
“Isn’t a freezer the same thing as a meat locker?” You ask as he points out the side-by-side rooms.
Wooyoung pauses, “I guess, now that you mention it. But we have a lot of meat, which is why there’s a separate room for it.”
“Where does it all come from?” You wonder how they can possibly have so much meat that it warrants having a separate walk-in freezer.
Wooyoung looks at you in confusion before bursting into laughter, “You’re funny, (Y/n), you saw all of the livestock, didn’t you?”
“Well, yes,” you start, “but it doesn’t seem like there’s enough, I guess.”
Wooyoung nods. “Jongho does outsource sometimes, normally before the winter, like now. We can’t very well be slaughtering in the winter!” He says this like it’s the most obvious thing in the world.
You simply nod along with him, not really knowing how to reply. He continues to show you where more inconspicuous things are, like the silverware and dishware (they’re in an obscure cabinet that you never would’ve guessed). He points to an enormous knife rack hanging over one of the cutting stations that must hold over twenty different blades. “Be careful with those, please. The last thing I want is for you to lose a finger in my kitchen! Nayeon might kill me.” He laughs after his statement, but only for a moment. “For real, though, those things are dangerous without proper form. Please don’t use them if I’m not around, for the time being.”
“Noted,” you attempt to calm his nerves. You probably wouldn’t trust yourself to wield one of those knives, either.
Right as you’re about to start wondering why the kitchen is completely devoid of people other than yourself and Wooyoung, people begin to trickle in. “We start preparing dinner around 3:45, since we serve at 5:30. It depends on the meal, though. We have a monthly calendar on the bulletin board.” He explains to you before calling out to the group that has entered the kitchen. “Everyone! Please look here!” He waits for the attention of the majority. “As you all know, (Y/n) was Chosen! And Hongjoong has placed her on our staff. Please welcome her and assist her as needed!”
The group is just a bit too large for Wooyoung to point out each individual that works in the kitchen, and you imagine that the shifts must rotate some depending on the day. You still make an attempt to wave and press a cordial smile to your face. Everyone you lock eyes with is already grinning at you, nodding with Wooyoung’s request. You wonder how often new people are brought into the group, as everyone you’ve met is acting like you’ve been sent from God himself.
Which, you guess, is exactly what they think you are.
“We’re serving a casserole tonight, so everyone get to chopping!” Wooyoung claps his hands together with that, and the group dissipates across the kitchen.
Isn’t the whole point of a casserole the lack of prep? You’re not able to ponder the question for very long before Wooyoung whisks you away to show you how to preheat the ovens.
.・。.・゜✭ ⧖ ・.・ ⧖ ✫・゜・。.
The next hour or so flys by quite fast with the preparation of dinner. It turns out that making casserole for nearly 50 people does take quite a lot of prep, despite the fact that it’s, well, casserole. The dinner bell rings across the building right as the multiple pans begin coming out of the ovens, and you’re surprised by the sheer perfection of the timing. They must have quite the system in place.
Noise begins to bleed into the kitchen from the cafeteria as it seems that the main crowd is making their way to dinner. You wait with Wooyoung, waiting for him to make the next move. As you remember from the one dinner that you had in this cafeteria, Hongjoong is gonna make some little speech before the food is served. You only wonder if your group in the kitchen is supposed to join them in the cafeteria to listen to Hongjoong, or if you all just stay in the kitchen.
Your question is all but answered when Seonghwa bursts through the doors into the kitchen, nearly making you jump out of your skin. He stops in front of you, holding his hand out. “Come on.”
“Wha-” you start, but when it takes you more than one millisecond to react to his demand, Seonghwa huffs, gripping your upper arm and beginning to drag you back to the doors.
“Hongjoong wants you present with him, princess.”
Well God damn it. Here you were hoping that you wouldn’t have to spend that much time in the same room as the man. Apparently you should know better than to think that he would let that happen by this point, though.
Once you’re through the doors with Seonghwa, Hongjoong is already standing in front of the group, though it doesn’t seem like he’s said anything yet. He turns to watch as Seonghwa pulls you to his side, you glaring at him all the while. Seonghwa walks you directly to Hongjoong’s side, leaning in to whisper some threat about not leaving Hongjoong’s side.
Seonghwa quickly excuses himself and stands far off to the side. Something tells you that he doesn’t much like standing in front of the entire crowd of people, and, honestly, you can see where that comes from. You stare out across the cafeteria, searching for Mingi in order to avoid the wide eyes of the others watching you.
He’s not hard to miss with his bright red hair, him throwing up a shy wave once he sees that you’ve spotted him. You feel a breath of relief knowing that he’s there, not that you expected that he wouldn’t be.
Your relief is short lived, however, as Hongjoong soon wraps his arm around your waist and jerks you closer to his side in one motion. You stumble at the sudden movement and nearly trip over your own feet, having to catch yourself by placing a hand on his chest. You quickly remove your hand and try to squirm his arm off of you, but to no avail.
He doesn’t seem to care all too much as he starts speaking. “Everyone, truly, we have been blessed. (Y/n) has been Chosen and has begun her work today. As you all know, the more people we have, the stronger we are. The better it is for our Clones. We are very lucky that (Y/n) was Chosen for us and that she was of the proper character, as decided by our God.” Hongjoong grips your waist a bit tighter. “She is a part of us now, for certain. I expect that each and every one of you will treat her with the kindness and respect you treat each other with.” You think you imagine the glance that Hongjoong seems to glance at Seonghwa due to the speed at which its over. Hongjoong quickly turns his attention completely to you, using his grip on your waist to hold you in place as he spins to face you directly.
“(Y/n), thank you, sincerely. Your help will be immeasurable and none of us will ever be able to thank you properly. You being Chosen is proof that this was the fate created for you. I sincerely hope that you will respect and honor God’s decision for you.” Hongjoong gives you a knowing smile that probably seems completely inconspicuous to the crowd.
He doesn’t wait for any sort of answer before he turns back and addresses the crowd once more. He prattles on about the farms and about winter and other things that couldn’t interest you less. Hongjoong finishes soon after and allows the food to be served; though he doesn’t release his hold on you as the noise grows once more in the cafeteria.
“So well behaved, thank you, (Y/n).” He squeezes you closer in order to start pulling you back to Seonghwa, who remains in his spot off to the side. You want to swat his hand away. His touch is just as burning hot as you remember it being, each of his fingertips feeling like matches digging into your side.
You reach Seonghwa’s side and, thankfully, Hongjoong releases his grip on you. “What do you want me to do with her now?” Seonghwa asks Hongjoong while simultaneously staring daggers at you.
Hongjoong shrugs. “Let her eat her dinner.”
“And then?”
“She can do whatever she wants until curfew, I don’t care.”
Seonghwa’s eyes narrow at this, but you know that he wouldn’t dare question something that Hongjoong says. You yourself are a bit taken aback by the statement, considering you haven’t been let out of someone’s sight for barely more than 10 minutes the entire time that you’ve been here (excluding your coma, probably, but still). You’re also not exactly a fan of the way that the two men are talking about you as if you aren’t there, but it’s also almost a blessing to have the attention of neither of them.
Alas, spoken to soon. Hongjoong turns his attention to you, “Thank you for cooperating. It wasn’t that hard, was it?” He smiles, taking a step closer to you. You would lean away, but that would mean running into Seonghwa, which is equally as unwelcome. “We are already having so much fun, aren’t we? And it’s just starting. Enjoy your dinner.” He swoops in closer and presses a kiss to your cheek, so quickly that you don’t have time to dodge it at all.
With that, Hongjoong walks away and joins the crowd, presumably looking for his meal. You pull your sleeve over your hand to wipe the spot on your cheek where he had just kissed, rubbing the rough material repeatedly over your face.
“You are so dramatic, do you know that?” Seonghwa asks from behind you, reminding you of his presence.
You roll your eyes, repressing the urge to make a comment back at him. Seonghwa simply takes off after Hongjoong, purposefully hitting your shoulder as he walks by. What a dick.
You look around the room once he’s far enough away, trying to find Mingi’s hair once again. You easily spot him at a table with Yunho, grabbing your serving before joining the two of them.
As soon as you arrive, Yunho is quick to start speaking. “What’s up with you and Hongjoong, (Y/n)? Seriously, he’s all over you.” Yunho giggles as you slide into the seat on Mingi’s right. “Good for you, it’s just kind of weird to see him like that with someone other than Seonghwa.”
You frown at his question. “Isn’t he like that with everyone?”
The look that both Yunho and Mingi return indicates that no, he is not like that with everyone.
Why you? Like, for real, why? What had you done to deserve this? Hongjoong literally doesn’t even know you, so why the hell is he treating you like this? Why is he so amused with you? This shit is not fair.
Mingi senses your discomfort and changes the topic to your first day at work, asking how you liked it.
You think on it for a moment, “It wasn’t too bad. I liked helping, I guess. Wooyoung made me a little nervous when he mentioned meat preparation, though. So I’m not looking forward to that.”
Yunho and Mingi nod their heads in almost perfect unison. “I could never do that, yuck.”
“Yuck? Those are the animals that we raise from birth; it’s sad, not gross!” Mingi frowns.
“It’s gross and sad.” Yunho counters.
The two go on arguing about the ethics of raising livestock while you eat your casserole. Honestly, it’s not all that bad.
.・。.・゜✭ ⧖ ・.・ ⧖ ✫・゜・。.
After dinner, the three of you had lounged around in the cafeteria until the curfew bell rang out. On your way out, Wooyoung let you know that you would only be working dinner again tomorrow, meaning that you wouldn’t have to wake up at 5:30 to prepare breakfast.
Mingi had offered to escort you to your room, but you remembered where it was and managed to get there on your own.
And here you are, back in the room that you had spent so much time locked in. It’s kind of funny that they had you keep the same room, no? It’s just about as you remember it, with the exception of your clothes being gone. Or, rather, your entire bag of stuff being gone. You just about turn the room upside down looking for any shred of evidence of your outside life, but there is none to be found.
You look inside the drawers of the dresser and are not surprised to find plenty of the simple pieces you’ve grown used to seeing. You find a pair of what seem to be pajamas in the top drawer and quickly change out of the clothes that you had been wearing. After being in the kitchen, they have the lingering smell of browned meat and potatoes. Frankly, you probably do, too, but you can’t be bothered to shower tonight.
Instead, you flop into bed, quite a bit more tired that you had thought you were. While you would normally want to devote some time to scheming your way out of this place, you can hardly focus on a topic in your head.
The bed is too comfortable and the pillow is at the perfect angle. You fall asleep the easiest you have since perhaps your first night at the farm.
.・。.・゜✭ ⧖ ・.・ ⧖ ✫・゜・。.
The next few days go by quite like your first day of ‘freedom,’ if that’s what you want to call it. Seonghwa and Hongjoong mostly keep their distance, which you greatly appreciate. You learn more about the kitchens and the operation of the schedules, as well as get closer to Wooyoung and some of the other kitchen staff.
Lucky for you, you get quite a lot of free time, meaning you have quite a lot of time to simply… think. Mainly about your plans for escape, which have come together quite cleanly in these last few days.
You’ve been trying to observe the general pattern of things, trying to understand when and how you should make your move. You quickly realized that there is absolutely no one monitoring you at night. While you expected that someone might be sitting outside of your door, even if its unlocked, that hasn’t been the case. Last night, you had made a quick trip down the stairs to simply see if it was possible, and you hadn’t seen a single other person.
Standing in front of the door had been incredibly tempting. There was no one. No one would have known.
But there were still too many unknowns, so you held off. Whether or not you would come to regret that decision… you don’t want to ponder.
Focusing on the present and the future only is how you will be able to move forward. Another consideration you had tested was whether or not there is an inventory system in the kitchen. You stole a whisk by sticking it in your pant leg one night, expecting Wooyoung to realize when the night was up that they were missing one piece of equipment.
But the time never came, and you returned the whisk with no issues.
You suppose that it’s possible that Wooyoung did notice and just didn’t care about a single whisk, but you’re choosing to believe that that’s not what happened.
You’ve also done some exploring of the grounds, looking for one thing in particular: your car. That’s really been the only real failure of your experiments. No matter where you looked, your car was absolutely nowhere to be found. You have no idea where they could have taken it other than somewhere in town, so the car is out of the question. While searching, you did run into Yeosang and managed to (hopefully) inconspicuously ask him about the vehicles on the property. He had told you that they had a couple pick-up trucks for going into town, but they were it for personal vehicles (“Otherwise, it’s only tractors and harvesters. Have you ever driven a combine?”).
While you don’t want to be reckless with your escape, you also do not want to prolong your time here any longer than you must. It’s pretty clear to you by this point that no one is coming for you. Somehow, no one has become concerned by your disappearance. You have to take matters into your own hands, and this is becoming clearer by the second.
The plan is formulating easily in your head. So easily that you briefly wonder if this is a trap laid out for you, and if you’re perfectly taking the bait… no. Definitely not. You can’t let yourself even consider the miniscule possibility that you’re perfectly playing into someone’s hands.
… That being said, this all seems almost a bit too easy. Perhaps the most important factor when it comes to your escape is whether or not other people will be around to stop you, and it seems too convenient that they’ve already stopped monitoring you. Especially considering the fact that you haven’t exactly kept your opinions of this place to yourself. You would think that they would still have someone watching you at all times, but it genuinely doesn’t seem like they do.
Of course, there are many periods of time where you are under some sort of supervision; like when you’re in the kitchens, the cafeteria, chapel… the like. Really anytime you leave your bedroom during the day, there will be someone that will see you.
Night time however… nothing. It almost seems like an oversight. Maybe Hongjoong had told someone to watch you and they simply forgot? How could it be possible that they would let you be completely alone during what would be the simplest time to escape? Unless they have some sort of hall-monitoring system that you’ve yet to become aware of, there is no one watching at night.
Again, it seems like an oversight. It really feels a bit too convenient for your liking, but you’ll take what you can get.
Besides that whole worry, there is really only one other thing to consider: the distance. You’re pretty sure that you would be able to find your way to the main road, and from there to the town. However, the sheer distance of the trek is daunting. You can’t exactly remember where the last town was or how far away it had been, but it must be an upwards of five miles. Sure, you could walk that in a few hours… but this feels more like a running situation.
There are people that run five miles for fun. So, logically, it’s possible. But you are not one of those people.
Five miles is your optimistic guess, and it’s probably a few more than that, making escape all that more intimidating.
So, while there are upsides there are also downsides. You wish that there was a way that you could head down the road just a little bit in order to orientate yourself, but you highly doubt that anyone would let that happen.
The only way you could see that happening would be if you were allowed as a passenger in a harvester… which simply wouldn’t make any sense and would be too long of a wait.
With so many unknowns that will probably never have an answer, you’ve resolved that you will simply have to bite the bullet and run with the uncertainties.
So that’s what you’ll do. Tonight. After curfew.
Your decision is not one that you take lightly. You know what this could mean, but the pros clearly outweigh the cons. Every second that you allow yourself to be comfortable is another second lulling you into complacency. Again, you would almost rather get free and die trying rather than remain at the farm for the rest of your life.
“(Y/n), did you need help finding the carrots?” Wooyoung questions, gently placing a hand on your shoulder. You start at the action, a sense of guilt swirling in your stomach at your thoughts. Obviously, Wooyoung can’t read minds and you don’t feel guilty about wanting to escape, but there is still a feeling of shame that comes along with your thoughts. “Oh! Sorry! I didn’t mean to startle you.” Wooyoung reacts to your small jump.
You shake your head, “No, no, it’s okay, Wooyoung. Honestly, uh, yeah, if you could show me where they would be, that would be great.”
Wooyoung gives you a smile and nods, turning and motioning for you to follow him. He leads you to the walk-in refrigerator, opening the door and motioning to the right. “All of the vegetables are kept here. Do you remember the chopping techniques I showed you alright?”
You walk to the shelf, grabbing the carrots at random. “Yeah, I think so. Thanks, Wooyoung.”
He nods once again, holding the door open for you as you exit. You bring your carrots to the chopping station you had been at when Wooyoung had interrupted your thoughts and get to chopping. Honestly, you had been so zoned out at the thought of your plans that you hadn’t even heard him say what the meal would be, nor had you even heard your assignment.
The knife you’ve selected is heavy in your hand as you curl your fingers on the carrots. Do you take it now, or take it later?
Thinking it over, taking it later seems to be the better option. While that does mean that you would have to sneak into the kitchen and risk getting caught, it would probably be much easier than trying to get it out of the kitchen with all of the others surrounding you. You would have to hold onto it for the entirety of dinner, which would be near impossible considering the lack of methods for concealment you have. Someone would definitely notice, and the jig would be up before it even began.
So, later it is.
Frankly, that was the last decision you had to make before you could set your plan into motion. Now, all there is left to do is… wait.
.・。.・゜✭ ⧖ ・.・ ⧖ ✫・゜・。.
And wait you do. The rest of the night leading up to curfew absolutely drags on. Hongjoong felt the need to start dinner with a twenty minute speech on the importance of togetherness and somehow tied it into the fact that not enough people are helping Yeosang prepare the vehicles (apparently, he still hasn’t been able to fix the engine he had been working on the first day you met him).
It’s like Hongjoong knows. Throughout his little sermon, he gives the occasional glance your way, as if to check that you’re paying attention. After he allowed dinner to begin, he had come and said hello to yourself and Mingi… and then simply left.
Not that you’re going to complain about Hongjoong leaving you alone, but that is quite out of character for him. This is the man that takes every opportunity to make you uncomfortable, and yet… he didn’t. What would the purpose of that be? Why would he just say hello?
Probably to make you squirm, which is exactly what you had done. The encounter left you with a sinking feeling that something was going to happen.
But the shoe has yet to drop, and it’s now 10:00. One hour past curfew. Time to return to the kitchen.
You ease yourself out of the desk chair you’ve been sitting in for the past couple hours, your heart thudding as you make your way to your door.
You put your hand on the knob, half expecting it to catch and find it to be locked. You twist, however, and the door cracks right open. You carefully pull it open, praying that the hinges don’t creak.
A tiny squeak escapes from the door, and it’s almost enough to get you to shut it again. There is absolutely nothing stopping you from simply staying, right?
Ahaha, yeah, no. Not going to happen. You poke your head out of your room, scanning the hallway to the left and the right of you. The coast is entirely clear.
With a deep breath, you step out into the hallway, repeating the painfully slow process of shutting the door behind you. The beat of your heart is so loud in your ears that you hardly believe you would be able to hear a sound from the door anyhow, but you’re still pleased when you aren’t able to hear any squeal of the hinges.
Once the door is shut, you head towards the stairs in a sort of half-run, half-tiptoe fashion. You make it easily enough, but the stairs themselves present a new challenge.
You’re not sure how old the building is, but it’s old enough for the stairs to be creaky. The idea that it could be by design briefly pops into your head, but you dismiss it for now. If you’re lucky, you’ll never have to step foot on these stairs again. If you’re unlucky… it’s also a possibility.
But, no, you really cannot afford thoughts like that right now. You slowly creep down the stairs, gripping the railing and putting as little weight as possible into each of your steps. You think that you manage to make it down soundlessly, and your last real challenge is making it to the kitchen.
You’ve yet to see anyone, so it seems really unlikely that you will at this point. If you were to have seen anyone, it would’ve been on the residential floors where someone may have been leaving their room to use the restroom; the main floor should be completely void of people.
The key word in that sentence is should. There is the possibility that maybe a… higher ranking member could be out and about, but you want to believe that that would be highly unlikely to happen.
Then again, what is it that Hongjoong does all night? Certainly he doesn’t go to bed at nine p.m., right? You think back to the night that Seonghwa had dragged you to the temple to speak to Hongjoong. That had been way past curfew. What if they’re out there right now, telling some other poor soul some crushing blow?
The thought puts a bit more spring into your step. Better to get the knife and get the fuck out of here while they’re preoccupied. You hurry down the hall to the cafeteria, trying to focus on the objective of your jaunt. The knife. Escape.
When you reach the cafeteria, all of the lights are off. You know that the room is huge, but the darkness gives you a sense of vertigo that could nearly fool you into thinking that you’re staring into a closet. You fumble at the wall next to the entrance for the light switches, weighing the risk in your mind. You need a light in order to find the door to the kitchen and not run into any tables, but turning all of the lights on might be a bad idea.
When your hand splays onto the board of switches, you pick one at random and flick it upward. One of the far left sets of lights turns on, giving you enough light to navigate to the kitchen.
Once inside the kitchen, you do not consider any risks for turning the lights on. You know where the switches are by now and swipe your hand across the panel, lighting the kitchen.
Almost tripping over your feet in your rush to get deeper into the kitchen, your eyes land on your target: the knife collection. You walk towards it, careful to not run into any of the metal equipment that could echo if it were hit.
You rip a dish towel off of a stove handle as you walk past, not caring to be gentle. The stove doors are so heavy that you can hardly open them when you’re trying, let alone with one swoop of your hand.
When you reach the rack of knives, you select the one that you had been using earlier. It’s about the most basic knife that you can imagine, except for the fact that it’s huge. Eyeballing it, the thing must be at least eight inches long, and you are well aware of how dangerous it could be with all of the warnings that Wooyoung has given you. Your palms are sweaty as you grip the knife with your dominant hand, considering all of the ways this could go south.
You quickly wrap the knife in the dish towel, making a small attempt to conceal it and also keep yourself safe. You’ll be damned if you accidentally hurt yourself with the thing.
Once the knife is securely wrapped multiple times in the towel, you shove it in the back of your pants (simply for the convenience of having your hands free). You then exit the kitchen, shutting the lights off behind you before entering the cafeteria again.
Your stomach falls to your ass and your heart thunders in your chest as you lay eyes on a figure in the doorway to the cafeteria.
For a brief second, you think you might be able to back into the kitchen undetected, but the person looks up too quickly.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. FUCK.
Fuck. For real. Fuck this. You quickly decide that the only way out of the situation is through.
You set off to the door at a brisk pace, keeping your eyes trained on the figure until their face comes into clearer view.
It’s quite a surprise to you when you realize that it’s Yunho standing in the doorway, looking just as confused as you would imagine. “(Y/n)?” He asks as you approach, head tilting slightly. “What are you doing up?”
You press the biggest, fakest smile you can muster onto your face. “Just forgot something down here earlier, that’s all. I’ve really gotta get to bed now, though. See you tomorrow!”
You squeeze past Yunho, not even looking at him as you explain yourself.
This was not part of the plan, damn it.

Tumblr media
"I get why you like him Y/N," Sohee swallowed the rest of her sandwich before finishing her sentence, "He's so hot. People say he's interested in you too, y'know?"
Sohee visibly tried to get food out from the back of her mouth using her tongue, and it made you chuckle at the sight. "I don't think he does." You sighed, resting your chin in your palm.
You were both situated at the table in the inner corner of the cafeteria, with a full view of who walks in the door, and sometimes you swore you could see Sohee drool when attractive guys walked in that exact door.
"Hello, of course, he does! Even his friend Jimin told Kang Seulgi from Class 1, who told Go Euntaek in class 3, who eventually told his girlfriend Baek Ho-rang who ran to me to tell me the great news." Sohee gasped for air after rambling, and you rolled your eyes,
"Stories change when that many links contribute." You scoffed, sitting back in your chair and reaching for your juice box on the table, taking a huge slurp, which you knew would annoy Sohee.
"You don't believe me? Guess we gotta ask a link closer to the source then." Sohee stood up from her chair, and you looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Park Jimin, get your ass over here will ya?" She nearly shouted across the cafeteria, and now all looks were pointed at you two, and you felt the urge to just slip down the cracks of the floor tiles and hide there forever grow stronger for each nanosecond.
You sunk further down on your tacky, orange chair, but you could still see Jimin's black locks sway a little over the crowd as he walked over to the table you were sitting at.
"What's up sugar?" Jimin smirked at Sohee, and Sohee didn't even budge, and you had no idea how she did it. He was stupidly attractive and could make any girl drop her pants with a comment like that.
"Jimin my dearest, a little birdie told me that Taehyung likes my sweet Y/N, could you confirm?" She batted her long lashes and smiled prettily at Jimin.
He looked to the left, sucked his teeth, and said, "I can't, I'm sorry." You realized you had grown a little too hopeful, and your heart sunk quite a bit when he spoke.
"Does he think I'm pretty at least?" You spoke up, eyes shining when you looked up towards the standing Jimin, the harsh lights in the cafeteria reflecting in them.
"He hasn't mentioned you much, to be quite honest." He shrugged, walking back to his table, where Taehyung and the rest of his friends sat.
Your heart thumped when he met your eyes, and you looked away in panic. The rest of lunch was just Sohee apologizing and you avoiding eye contact with any of the students at the nearby tables.
Jimin mentioned you and Sohee's name several times, he was a loud speaker, and you were so scared of what he was saying you could probably die right then and there.
Saved by the bell, you picked up your stuff and got ready to start running to your classroom, praying you wouldn't meet any of Taehyung's friends, and especially not Taehyung as you ran Usain Bolt style.
You looked down while running, not thinking twice about leaving your best friend behind, you suddenly fell to the ground with a thud. This was surely not one of your glory days.
When you looked up, you wanted to cry. It was none other than Kim Taehyung, and he didn't look pleased. You gathered your things and muttered "Sorry." under your breath probably about 10 times, and he just watched, disappointingly.
"You're a klutz. Why were you running?" He spoke, and your knees turned into jelly when you tried to stand up, you nearly fell and dropped all your stuff again, but he caught you by the arm, straightening you up like it was nothing.
"Uh... Uhm... Err..." you mumbled, and he rolled his eyes, and not in a joking manner. "Fuck that, why are you going around telling people I like you?"
Your breath hitched, and he stared at you coldly. "I didn't! Gosh, my friend Sohee told me someone had told her that you liked me, and- uh... We asked Jimin, and-" He put his hand over your mouth, making you shut up.
"I don't want you two to go around making up baseless rumors about me, it's incredibly annoying for me to go around correcting people who assume shit just because your little friend speaks louder than a bunch of hyenas at a tea party." Taehyung nearly spat, and you took a step back.
You noticed that people were listening in, their stares burning holes in your back. He was livid, and you didn't understand why, you just smiled, praying to god that this would end soon.
"I just thought you liked me-" You began, and he interrupted you, "You thought I was gonna like someone like you? Get over yourself and enter the real world."
The hallway went silent, your lips trembled as hot tears raced down your face, and like the track star you were, you fled the scene and passed the finish line into the bathrooms.
You stayed till the school day ended, not knowing what was unraveling outside the four walls of the stall.
Sohee 💜: 01:12 pm

Tumblr media
Sohee always knew when to leave you alone, so she did, partially. You usually shut off your phone when you're upset, but she still sends you texts to update you whenever you turn it back on.
This time, it was quite dramatic, and you rushed out of the icky stall and ran (again) to reach Sohee to get the full story, and as you expected, it was interesting.
"Basically, Doyoung punched Taehyung and Taehyung was a little too OP, so he failed to initiate a fight, so it just turned into Taehyung being an ass to Doyoung for defending you." She shrugged, adjusting the straps of her leather backpack as you walked home.
"Taehyung's rep is so tainted right now, I don't know how he's gonna fix this my dear Y/N, so I guess he got his karma. He's an idiot and I'm glad other people are starting to see."
You nodded yes, pushing out a fake chuckle, while silently you prayed that everything would soon be back to normal and that Taehyung would forgive you for the mess you caused.
Being in love with Taehyung for a year had taken a toll on you, and your best friend since freshman year had noticed too. You were different.
You used to be so independent and optimistic, but now you would strive for validation, and you had turned into one of the most insecure people Sohee had ever met.
Sohee tried to pull you away from him, but to her demise, it only got worse when you tried to meet other guys. She figured that the only way for you to disconnect from him was if you had your go with him, or if he treated you like a complete idiot.
You waved goodbye to Sohee as you entered your house, kicking off your shoes and throwing yourself down on the couch. You wanted to scream, but you saw your brother's and another guy's shoes in your hallway, so you kept it inside.
After having watched an episode of Seinfeld, you could hear the floorboards creak, and your gaze found its way to the hallway, where your brother, Yoongi stood, peeking out from his door.
"Ah, Y/N, you're the one who's home?" He smiled brightly, eyes turning into small crescents, which made you awe at the sight.
"Yuppers." You said and sat back again, pressing play to start the next episode. "Who's your guest?" And as you uttered your last word, another head peeked out from the door, and you couldn't help but feel the happiness brew inside you.
It was Kim Seokjin in all his glory, and this time, he looked even hotter. It had been about two years since you last saw him because he moved to Germany to study medicine.
Seokjin had been your neighbor since you were born, and you pretty much grew up with two older brothers who always took care of you.
No one dared to mess with you, because Seokjin and Yoongi always got to them first. That way, you grew up without a care in the world, protected from all evil.
You had no idea when you fell in love with him. It was somewhere during puberty, where your interest in Brad Pitt and Kim Soohyun from Dream High had grown stronger.
You remember Seokjin was scouted for modeling, acting, and even idol groups all through your childhood. He did a few ads, photoshoots, a popular teenage drama called Double Trouble, and even managed to get his own Wikipedia page.
There was no doubt that Seokjin was an attractive man, and in the two years he had been gone, his face fat was completely gone, and he had defined cheekbones, a slimmer and tighter figure, and you thought he couldn't be any more perfect.
"None other than God himself," Seokjin said smugly, opening his arms to greet you with a hug, and you threw your blanket you were covered into the side as you bolted into Seokjin's arms, legs wrapped around his waist.
He slowly put you down so your feet touched the parquet, and you felt a kind of euphoria as he smiled at you again, the same smile he had flashed you as long as you could remember.
Everything about Seokjin had matured and changed, but his smile remained the same. "What are you doing back?" You sniffled, holding back the happy tears that were forming in your eyes.
"Hey, don't get me wrong, I love Germany, but it's a little bland. I miss ahjumnas complimenting me on the subway and the bomb ass food here in SK." Seokjin grinned as he wiped a tear that fell down your face.
Yoongi was leaning against the door frame, smiling at the grand reunion. You knew he liked seeing you two together, and you had a small suspicion about him shipping you guys.
"Please don't ever leave again." You gripped onto his shirt, digging your face down in his chest, and he said, "I swear to god if you're wearing makeup right now-"
You laughed as you pushed him away, placing your hands below your chin and batting your eyelashes dramatically, "I'm all-natural."
"Naturally pretty." Seokjin leaned forward and whispered in your ear, and your heart did a little somersault.
Seokjin's always been a charmer.
Tumblr media
You woke up in your room, pink sheets draped over your half-naked body as tons of messages poured in on your phone, vibrating so much it nearly fell off the edge of your nightstand.
You grab it while rubbing your eyes, and you're shocked to see the messages that had exploded on your lock screen.
Unknown: 08:39 am
Hey, it's Kim Taehyung.
Look, I'm sorry for the shit I said to you and I would love to make it up to you in some kind of way.

Okay. Meet me at Nori Table at 6 pm. Don't make me wait.
Your heart was palpitating, and when you pressed your phone up to your chest, you could feel your body heat up from your scalp to your toes.
Maybe Kim Taehyung had no interest in you right now, but he sure would after tonight. You were gonna make him love you, soon enough,
Running to the shower a few hours of Seinfeld later, you scrubbed with all your might with your newest strawberry scrub, did your makeup, curled your hair, and sat down on the couch, outfit draped over the armrest of the chair.
It was an hour till you were leaving, so for the time being you sat with hair rollers in your hair, dressed in pink sweats. Seokjin and Yoongi had been awake all night, you had heard them laugh and play Mario Cart all night, it reminded you of old times.
Old times where you went to bed crying because Yoongi and Seokjin's bedtime was later than yours at sleepovers. Thinking back, your parents made a pretty rational decision, but you resented them for it.
When Seokjin left for school in Germany, during your Sophomore year you cried again. You thought it was so unfair that you had to be two years younger, why couldn't you come with him?
You were painfully in love with him, and you had been probably since you were. A few months after he moved, your feelings faded. You were love-free, only to fall stupidly in love again with Taehyung just a year later.
You were forced to snap out of your train of thought because you heard the floorboards creak again. When you looked over at the dark hallway, you saw a tired, yet familiar face smile at you.
Seokjin looked quite disoriented, hair ruffled and eyes puffy, yet he looked like a Greek god. Sculpted to perfection, he smiled at you like he did yesterday and all the times before.
"Morning." He grunted out, his morning voice prominent. You chuckled when you looked at the time, feeling kind of bad for Seokjin who had slept away the majority of his day, which you knew he didn't like.
"It's 5 pm, cutie. Mom said you guys could order takeout, cause she's working late." You stood up, and Seokjin gave you a good look up and down, and then diverted his gaze to the lavender ruffle skirt and white long-sleeve blouse you had neatly hung over the armchair.
"What's the occasion?" He nodded over at the clothes and then your hair rollers and full-face makeup-covered face. He threw a few walnuts from the little bowl on the coffee table into his mouth.
"It's none of your business, but I have a date tonight," you said smugly, and a walnut flew out of Seokjin's mouth in shock.
"A date? Like a real one?" He frantically asked, and you nodded as you walked away with your outfit in hand.
You came back out minutes later, and Seokjin had to hold his mouth shut so it wouldn't drop to the floor. You had matured so well, a white blouse adorning your waist, and the lavender skirt hugged your curves nicely.
You had decorated your neck and ears with golden jewelry, and you had a pair of Air forces dangling from your left hand. You were beautiful, hair let free from the hair rollers, curls swaying as you did a twirl.
"It's alright, I guess." He pretended not to care, and your proud grin morphed into a frown pretty quickly, and he noticed.
He stood up and walked towards you, standing very close. His tall figure was hovering over you. Seokjin leaned forward towards your ear, not whispering this time,
"You're gorgeous." He pushed your curls behind your shoulder, adjusting your golden necklace as he returned to Yoongi's bedroom.
You were screwed.
Tumblr media
The time on your phone showed 6:06 pm. You recall him saying ‘don’t be late’. What a hypocrite. It had started to pour down, so you were squeezed up against the brick wall of the restaurant so the ledge above you would shield you from the rain.
You were shaking from the cold, legs exposed because of your skirt. Sighing deeply, you reached down into your purse to text Taehyung, but when you looked up, you saw him running over to you.
He was holding a bouquet of pink delphinium and peonies. You’d always been interested in flowers, and this small gesture made you all fuzzy inside.
“I apologize for my late arrival m’lady. The flower shop was about to close down for the day, and I had to beg the cashier to let me in, promising to buy a huge bouquet if she did.” He smiled as he stood in front of you.
“No worries sir, I haven’t been waiting for long.” You chuckled, as you accepted the bouquet. His eyes scanned every inch of your body, and he said, “You’re shivering. Let’s go inside.”
This was a side of Taehyung you had barely seen before, caring and warm. This was also the side of him that initially made you fall for him.
The memories of him reading stories for children at the hospital was heartwarming. Whenever you went to visit your brother, who has now passed, you would see him read stories for all the unlucky kids.
Your brother, who was only 7 years old talked about Taehyung like a superhero, and it seemed as if Taehyung’s stories were the highlight of his days at the hospital.
Daejung wasn’t a kid you would pity. In his last months in the hospital he never once cried. You believed that Taehyung was a big part of the reason.
That’s why you fell in love with him. He hadn’t been a superhero in the form of saving lives, but he definitely made a whole lot of sick kids happier.
How could you ever repay him?
Taehyung rested a hand on your shoulder and lead you inside the door, and there stood a beautiful tall woman, black hair to her waist, almond-shaped eyes, and full lips.
She was beautiful. You looked up to see Taehyung’s reaction, and he wasn’t looking at her, he was looking at you. His eyes met yours, and you could’ve sword the whole world stopped.
“Excuse me?” An unfamiliar voice spoke up, and it kicked you right back into reality. It was the pretty woman speaking, an even prettier voice to match her.
“Do you have a reservation?” She questioned, smiling so genuinely from ear to ear. “Yes. It’s on Kim.” Taehyung spoke so confidently.
“Ah, for two. I’ll be your server tonight.” She waved for you to follow her, and before she turned around, you saw her name tag.
Bae Eunmi. A pretty name for a pretty person. Of course, she had to be pretty. Your confidence sunk even lower, and your insecurities grew.
“I’m not interested in her, by the way. I’ve talked to her before. She’s all beauty and no brains. Not for me.” Taehyung whispered into your ear, possibly to reassure you.
You sat down at the table and ordered a huge plate of different types of sushi, maki, nigiri, uramaki, and even sashimi.
This restaurant was fancy, nearly too fancy for your liking. It was huge and flashy, and it made you doubt your outfit choice completely.
The restaurant fell silent since there weren’t many guests here this early. The silence wasn’t awkward between you guys. It was just, too silent, and you decided to break it.
“Do you still write stories?” Taehyung’s face froze. How did you know about the stories he wrote? Had you been stalking him? Was this when everyone would find out how weak he truly is?
“How did you find out... About them?” He asked hesitantly, fidgeting with a small woven basket with bread placed on your table.
“When sun and moon met, moon felt bad. When the moon was alone at night, he cried, because he wanted to shine just like the sun.” You quote his story word by word, it was your favorite paragraph.
He looked at you with a confused look and his eyes told you that he wondered why you knew the story so well.
Before he could speak up, you said, “My brother's name was Daejung. He looked up to you and constantly told me about how he wanted to be like you when he grew up.” You placed your hands on top of his over the table.
Taehyung was speechless. He sat there, body completely frozen as he processed what you just said. The little boy he had mourned for many months was the same flesh and blood as you.
“Daejung told me how he wanted me to marry you because he thought no one else deserved me.” Letting go of his hands, he continued sitting completely still.
First, he felt disappointed in himself. Disappointed of the way he had treated you, how sad Daejung would be if he knew.
Second, he could see him in your traits. Your button nose matched his completely, and your eyes sparkled just the way his eyes did.
Third, he realized he had to take care of you. Fall in love with you, for Daejung. Taehyung had promised the little boy to take care of his friends and family when he has at his worst.
His expression completely changed. It softened, and his eyes looked at you like you were godsent. He believed you were too. It was fate.
