I DID IT!!!! I FINALLY FINISHED THE POCAHONTAS CROSS STITCH!!!!
IT HAS BEEN TWELVE YEARS!!!!
Not because is was hard or anything (actually it was on the easy side), but because I kept getting distracted by bigger more intricate projects. Then I lost it. When I found it again this summer, I resolved on finally finishing it and did! (amid many musings on the stitching choices of my younger self).
It is far from a flawless piece, and far far from my best, but I love it all the same. Now to find a frame!

Pattern: Pocahontas ‘Friends of the Forest’ by Leisure Arts for Disney
Approx. Size: 10” x 11 3/4”. Stitched on 14 count aida with 35 colors.

That's Right#lackadaisy#WHICH i have been reading since at least '07 when i was thirteen my god b/c this animation is based on the ongoing webcomic#like does its influence show up Directly in some Discrete way i can point to in my art? not very easily probably. 🎶 And here I stand in the light of day…🎶
Finally! I picked this up for a ‘quick and easy’ Frozen-themed project. It was neither of those things 😆. This pattern definitely falls into the harder/than-it-looks category: tons of blends (ugh I hate blends…), tons of color changes in small areas (ugh I hate those), and because I’m a glutton for crafty punishment I incorporated blending filament (blending filament is the worse, but Elsa’s magic MUST sparkle so…yeah).
Really happy with the end result though!

Stitched on 18 count Aida; 23 DMC colors; subbed in one strand of Kreinik blending filament for one strand of DMC B2500 for Elsa's magic (because ✨sparkle✨); pattern 'Princess Silhouette 6' from MandarinsShop on Etsy.

Garak saying "I know when to walk away" is so funny with the context of A Stitch in Time because like. yeah he does know when to walk away. and then he never does
