Because hear me out. In a wonderlandiful world everyone is turning literal. Apple turns into an apple, Faybelle turns into a bell with wings, Raven into a raven, etc etc.

And instead of turning into a log of wood cedar turns into a real girl. Because of the truth curse placed on her it kick starts that magic.

And daring + Dexter turn into beasts. I’d say maybe it’s destiny magic turning them into beasts but Dexter too?

That seems like it’s family oriented. Almost as if it’s a family curse

So when the jabberwocky uses its magic it does the same thing to Dexter & Daring that it does to cedar

Also like think about it. Why would the snow king curse daring to gradually turn into a beast?! Like not even a penguin or snow related animal. And everytime the snow king got mad he turned his servants immediately.

So his magic must have affected the family curse.

#rambles alert #this year has not been a productive year for me as an artist tbh #normally no matter the circumstances I create at least about one hundred pieces a year #but now as it’s closer and closer to the end of the year it’s not even reached fifty yet #which worries me a little #but honestly i feel every piece I’ve made this year is all quite out of my comfort zone so that might explain the unproductivity #for instance the first pic. if Riz does indeed come out in junior year, and he says, “I’m ace” or “I’m asexual” when referring specifically to his lack of romantic attraction, aromantic people are allowed to be upset about it.

#because yes of course some people irl say ace to mean both bc that’s how they personally identify #but in fictional media the distinction is necessary. especially with how few canonically aromantic characters even exist in ANY mainstream/#popular media.#I assure you I’m not invalidating anyone who is ace and they mean that to include lack of romantic attraction.#But to look at this from a MEDIA PERSPECTIVE its irresponsible to do this w/out clarification that they also know the word aromantic exists #because otherwise that’s just a conflation of asexual and aromantic without any nuance #and an erasure of aromantic people who are not asexual.#Plus—name a single fucking time a character in mainstream/popular media has said the word aromantic.#Because I can name several instances where they say asexual. i’m not a transandrophobia truther in the slightest don’t get me wrong, but i think some people on here really need to realize and comprehend the fact that cis women, way WAY more often than not, hold extremely significant social and political power over trans men the vast majority of the time in our day to day lives

#sorry not to get on this bullshit i just saw a related post when i opened this app lmao #and by some people i don’t mean anyone in particular im not vagueing anyone or any specific post #and i especially don’t mean any transfem calling out transmisogynistic transmascs either #but yeah i see a lot of implication that trans men are like. somehow significantly privileged over cis women #and ofc i don’t mean that transmascs are incapable of being misogynistic to cis women bc that’s far from the case #but i need someone to name a transmasc with significant political or social or financial power that’s working to set back women’s rights #versus the amount of cis women with any of the aforementioned privileges working to take away the rights of trans people #bc i can think of 4 of the latter just off the top of my head without trying really hard #and the only day to day instance i can think of where trans men would hold significant power over a cis woman is like..#a workplace environment where he completely passes as cis and absolutely no one knows he’s trans at all or even suspects it #but then again most if not all of that privilege would be stripped away the second anyone there found out he was trans #but yeah i really do think some people need to grapple with how they conceptualize gendered privilege and their own power in these dynamics #and how that’s reflected in the way they think about/interact with transmascs #are you disgusted with this random transmasc on tumblr because he’s a man (or vaguely adjacent) or because he’s trans. ykwim #and again i hate the whole transandrophobia thing i think it’s stupid as shit and redundant to put it lightly and briefly but #idk why transmascs that believe in it have become the new face of anti-feminism and MRA movements #and not like. the cis men who started both of those things and contribute to the vast majority of that type of rhetoric in every way #and also hold enough power to leverage those beliefs over both women and also transmascs tbh #i think some people are just repulsed by the idea of anyone willingly wanting to be a man bc they see it as the same as becoming a cis man #in terms of privilege. when in reality by being trans you’re knocked down in terms of power and privilege from all cis people anyways #but also. some people also need to realize that transmascs can also have trauma and complicated feelings about being a man and patriarchy #and more often than not we ARE traumatized by the way cis men (and women!!) have treated us #and grapple with our place in the world as a result. it’s not just as simple as becoming a cis man over night tbh!!#and again i’m not talking about transfems with any of this because the vast Vast majority of transfems understand this more than anyone #i’m mostly talking about cis women both irl and also just in the terminally online leftist sphere #and i also think i should be allowed to vent my grievances with the power cis women often do wield over me without being accused of being a #raging misogynist or MRA or whatever

No content, just something I thought upon when thinking of the movie (something that is on my mind so very often.)

Just, thinking of Leo, when he’s separated from everyone and everything, being completely silent. Even being so horrifically beaten as he was, even being in a true nightmare scenario, he is silent in his suffering. Smiles through it, even.

At the moment where it would have been more than justified to make any noise, he stays silent.

Im about to make a whole osp style video on the importance of pacing and spacing in relation to whump or an authors decision to seriously harm a character

#kipspeak #long story short I wholeheartedly believe if you space it out wrong you will disengage your audience #and as a general rule of thumb you have a maximum of THREE instances across micro and macro story beats individually #Which both rest on a sliding scale of importance from minor to major and the spacing and groupage depends on what it is #three is also a guideline- I’ve seen characters hurt in unsatisfactory or overblown ways with only two; and I’ve seen it done #very well with four pushing five major focus points #setting also matters. Everything matters. But the conclusion is this #You are always on a balance beam with making your blorbo miserable. be aware of your major ‘chapter’ breaks (reset points)#… I have thoughts about things that I think have done it wrong and it is entirely about the pacing/spacing and not about the actual event o #the whump.#ahve I mentioned I hate that word yet. whump. I’m going to use it though because I need to get a point across #AND MIND YOU THIS IS FOR STORYTELLING WITH THE GENERAL PUBLIC AS AN AUDIENCE MOSTLY #of course that falls under genre and medium exceptions…#brb. it kind of bothers me that witcher fans don’t really unite under sapkowski’s name like other fans of fantasy authors do (e.g. “tolkien fans”).

in practically any other fandom of fantasy books, save for the particularly rancid authors known for their disappointing and shameful behavior or views (e.g. jk r*wling), it’s just regular business to say the author’s name. but sapkowski’s name is treated like a dirty word in the witcher fandom, for really no good reason…

it must be asked — what is stopping us from doing so?! why don’t we call ourselves sapkowski fans. it would be much easier than saying “i’m a fan of the witcher, but only the books, i don’t consider the various adaptations canon, etc. etc.” … “half a hundred words, when three are enough!!”
