Um, well, lets start with the fact that this is actually a fan-oc based on my friend's universe. In short, there are dudes with geometric figures instead of heads. Ketr is an abbreviation of his figure Triquetra (however, in this ref I simplified his head a little).

Triquetra has always been used for religious purposes. And surprisingly, Ketr is also a religious founder of his own triangular religion!

However, if he seems like an obedient dandelion, then no, not at all. Instead, he does all sorts of absolutely illegal things that contradict any faith. That is, after prayer he can leave the temple and, having gotten drunk, yell obscenities in all languages until the morning, wandering around the city on all fours. Or suddenly lose modesty and start flirting not only with womans. blackmail? date with gays? accidentally kill? fight? smoke???? He demonstrates all this without embarrassment, and then justifies himself with his religion. Ketr is based on real people who, after doing unacceptable things, still dare to say that they believe in God, etc.

God in Ketr's religion is a yellow one-eyed triangle like Bill Cipher. that's why its main attribute is yellow triangle

This is precisely why Ketr's above actions create a bad opinion of him, bcoz his book was literally rewritten to fit the usual standard. moral is quite clear: even despite all ur belonging, u will still lack something.

gray's return in the show and how it defines gray as a truly morally gray character

i just gotta ramble more abt this scene, with it being one of my favorite scenes in the show. but really i just wanna talk abt how this scene encapsulates gray's ... grayness... of the moral variety

especially since it is done so effectively since, like i mentioned in other posts, our screen time with actual gray and not graham or whatever is limited.

this scene sees the return of gray in the plot, picking up directly where we leave off from all the way back in episode 2

as i stated previously on other posts, because of the silly brainwashing plot, much of graham scenes can be thrown out. in a sense, it's the writers' way to put a big old pause on his character

and these are only one of the two conversations carmen and gray have in current day as themselves -- with no mind wiping or brainwashing (not including flashback cuz the actual issues of the relationship that need to be addressed havent been established yet)

so resuming directly right where we left off with gray trying to kill carmen, we return back to gray trying to kill carmen :D

but this time he did recongize carmen's name, alluding to his change ... even tho he is waving his electric stick around -- mirroring their last encounter in paris

side tangent: something i, additionally, love about this scene is just how it is blunt and honest. much of carmen sandiego's drama/conflict is built of misunderstanding and misdirection and mistrust of the characters. Which while, yes, i am eating up, but unfortuntely can cause many characters relationships to be burdened with a lot of things that can be easily cleared up with a talk. gray for once just bluntly takes a stance.

something that i do like is that in their only two scenes with each other as themselves, carmen (the pilot flashbacks) and gray (this scene) open up so fast with one another. there's never any miscommunication between them during these scenes .... well until vile barges into the conversation....

ANYWAY here we get revealed gray's full perception of himself and his goals very explicitly, especially since his memories and alliances was the biggest question over the viewers' head for most of the show

here gray explains that he believes that he is not a good person, someone incapable of change.

from his perspective, the only way he was able to be a "good" person was when he was brainwashed. and he had just had however long with his chats with maelstrom emphasizing that he has always been a bad person by nature. with the knowledge vile will forever have full control over him -- either as a vile operative or as a mindwiped civillian -- gray essentially accepts his fate as a bad person, because at the very least he is himself.

carmen may have gotten away from vile, but he is told by maelstrom it is due to her being a naturally good person. because his own perception of himself is as somebody who is incapable of good, he will never be able to leave vile now

and carmen is right there in front of him. it was his hesistance that landed him into this debacle, and with maelstrom and bellum both just past the door and carmen alone, gray has every chance to right his wrong.

but he doesnt. because he realizes that the very least he can make the choice of is never hurting carmen. as i stated in other posts, gray's main motive is to be free from any standard that could get in between him and his success. but his want for this freedom ironically got him trapped within following vile's orders. he had been so caught up in following vile that he had lost sight of himself and what he cares about.

so now he explains to carmen his absolute refusal to hurt her again, begging her to give up in stopping vile

selfish and selfless

But I'm begging you, give up trying to stop us, because I don't ever want to be put in a position to hurt you again.

gray's plea to carmen here is so perfectly two-sided

he is acting out selflessly in not allowing his alliances against carmen blind him. i mean that is what he fucked up last time in the train, where it was clear gray wanted to spare carmen - with giving her time to share her side of the story and providing the offer - put unwilling to stand against his mission. like an actual human being, gray acknowledges his mistake and is trying to amend it by stating clearly that he cares abt carmen.

he, in essence, is apologizing for trying to harm carmen by expressing his major regret. moreover, he acknowledges their chat in the pilot, accepting carmen will not return to vile. it stems likely from the ink blot scene earlier, where maelstrom speaks about nature, making a distinction between vile, and by extension, gray's, and carmen's morals. he is finally reconciling that he and carmen will not be on the same side, no matter how much he wants it to be otherwise.

it can also be viewed as a sense of wanting to protect carmen. because he feels so small compared to vile, he barely can ponder how anyone can actually succeed in going against them. i mean they brainwashed him and easily gave and took away his civilian life. in his eyes, carmen staying far from vile is the only way she could be safe

however, viewing it from another perspective shows gray's selfishness in his plea. when he speaks about never wanting to be put in a position to hurt carmen again, he kinda places such a responsibility on carmen, not recongizing he himself is capable of changing that.

Essentially saying "hey quit while you're ahead so you don't gotta make me feel guilty when doing crime" while ignoring that he is making the choice join vile

It kinda stems from his lack of faith in carmen or his own cowardice against vile or a combination of both. What may just be the only way he can protect to protect carmen comes off in his own lack of faith in her ability. as i mentioned earlier, this practically is his own resignation to his fate that vile cannot be fought against. he took his own defeat as the only way to be safe, refusing to believe carmen can successfully fight them.

while he was able to get past the hurdle of accepting carmen changing and no longer standing alongside him, he cant seem to understand his own responsibilty in this.

he's being selfish by demanding a change in carmen's behavior while he continue along with his own desires. While yes, i did just detail the various factors that led to him to such a conclusion, the window was LITERALLY OPEN for him to leave

following carmen blowing up the facility and rejecting gray's demand -- SHE IS SO REAL FOR THAT I LOVE HER SM IN THIS EP -- the wall LITERALLY IS OPEN FOR TO LEAVE CARMEN WITH

Goodbye, Gray

Idk how intentional this is, but the framing shows carmen literally, by her own will, forcing an opening for herself out of vile (both figuratively in the past and literally right now lol) while gray watches on idly, too scared to leave the grasp of vile but just watching on.

and his cowardice is followed through in the finale, with after months of idly watching carmen slip deeper into evil by the brainwashing, he actually takes actions against vile by actively choosing to work with acme, abandoning tigress, and being the one to land the memory recovery thing on her.

it is what makes gray such a stand out character in this show, admist his frustrating back-and-forth and selfishness and sometimes wasted writing. he keeps making a mistake but proceeds to fix it right after. his growth into a better person requires him to make these mistakes, because unlike carmen and most people in the show on the side of good, gray doesn't work on any moral compass. he is not actively evil and wishing to inflict harm and conflict like paper star or vile facilty, nor is he driven by morals such as team red and julia. he is driven by whatever he selfishly cares abt. and from what we see of him both in the pilot and this ep, he makes as many mistakes as he does have slivers of good actions

basically gray is an interesting character cuz he literally fucks up his personal goals, but he makes an earnest attempt to make it better lol

He and his coworkers have probably made jokes in regards to the mushrooms in people's stomachs (with such a grim job, there'd be a grim sense of humor to go with it to keep from going insane with the job.)

Krow is a clever birdy, so it's not outside the realm of possibility for him to figure out it's Dove, ESPECIALLY if Dove leaves behind clues for Krow only to pick up.

Again assuming that these aren't people he particularly... cares about. He wouldn't really say anything. He'd let Dove reveal themselves in their own time. (:

See in 4K how she destroys her own body to keep the only thing she knows gives her worth, the only thing that makes people find her worth talking to— her body!” My mother suffers from chronic migraines so yes, the amount of flashing lights in it can be a bit jarring (so warning for anyone who is prone to seizures or is light sensitive). But to me it doesn’t feel like it’s too overdone, like many horror films tend to do with flashing lights— it makes sense why those sequences are there, it makes sense why they choose the lighting, to me: it makes sense and seems to align with the story

Women have been told that all their worth is dependent on their bodies, their beauty- but The Substance truly shows just how much that shit can affect us, shows how much it can hurt your mental health- which will, in turn, affect your physical health!

You've mentioned he was also selfish with his motivations and knew about William's activities. Did Henry actively destroy evidence to cover up the crimes? Or did he just do the sweet talk press release kind of cover up companies do to distract from scandals?

What other kinds of sketchy or morally grey things has Henry done in order to further his own interests? And does anyone know about the things he's done?

Also, if Henry and William are split up in your interpretation, how did the two of them meet in the first place?

Did Charlie come from different past relationships or were they adopted? And if the latter, did she know? (Also the same for the Afton kids, are they from a previous relationship or adopted?)

What role did Henry originally play in the upstart of the company? If he's heavily motivated by his own personal goals, was Fazbear's always the end game for him? Or was it part of a larger ambitious career goal? Does Charlie's death impact his goals at all?

i'd say henry probably didn't destroy much evidence, since william was pretty meticulous for the most part. however i think he probably would have destroyed camera footage, so all that's really left is eye-witness accounts. and if he were to notice stray bloodstains left anywhere, he would clean those up too. he usually let william do the sweet talking but since william was no longer part of the company he had to do it himself, and he did decently enough. but in the end both he and william were suspects (bc of how henry is describe to react in the books, although my henry is. significantly more chill about it because he already knows what happened. he's just a bit nervous (he did help cover it up after all), accidentally contradicts himself a few times, also perceived to be lying because he can't make eye contact(AUTISM!!!)), but both of them got off for lack of evidence. mentioned it b4 but he's covering for william because "if william wants to ruin everything they ever worked for FINE but he is NOT taking henry with him!!!"

henry covers up accidents at the pizzeria a LOT to keep the brand safe. its kind of the last thing he has left for himself after charlie's death (+ his wife is either dead or divorced him, still deciding). i would presume he probably does some shady tax stuff too. no one really knows about what he's done, and he's honestly kind of elusive to the public eye, so there generally isnt much information that gets out to the public. the only people who would know are william and probably his wife.

i am very much a henry and william met in college truther (its fun). william flying from britain to utah to get away from an abusive home and henry just uhh. just having lived in hurricane all his life, raised by a pretty standard christian family. by miracle they end up at the same college. and they were roommates. oh my god they were roommates /ref

william and henry started the company together not expecting to go much further than fredbear's but after they became a huge success they pretty quickly started planning new locations. work on the fnaf 1 animatronics started before the bite of 83 so they were partially done before fredbear's had to shut down but never used yet. sorry i went off topic anyways yeah henry is pretty motivated by his own personal goals, he wants to be super successful + improve on his technology + entertain people and show them how cool animatronics are. im not sure i'm interpreting the part about fazbear's being the end game for him correctly but i guess i'd say yes to that? charlie's death hits him super hard and for a few days he cant really bring himself to do anything. but then he just starts throwing himself into his work to cope with her death. i think charlie's death didnt get really any coverage at all so most people dont even know it happened (+ the bite of 83 would have been quite recent at that point and would have way more of an impact on the brand as they struggle to cover it up)

i was wondering if i could ask your opinion, as much as you can offer it to a stranger from the internet.... i know its not easy to give meaningful advice on complicated matters to total strangers.

im 29, i have a very good degree and a decent job, i am not more insane or annoying than an average person and i look just fine. i do however have a problem finding a long term partner. ive been working very hard at uni/later as an intern so it didnt leave much time for a rich social life and lot of dating. i also had the misfortune of spending several years in a very unhealthy relationship when i was about 20, young and stupid. several years of determined singleness followed immediatelly after that.

so now that im old and less stupid, ive tried dating apps, ive tried going out for drinks with acquaintances but never more than 2 or 3 times with the same guy. i do have high standards... and im a smart independent woman which im told is not extremely popular with men. anyway.

i recently met a guy 1 year younger than me who works in the same profession but is only just starting, in contrast to me being a bit of a bitter old veteran. ive been kind to him as one is to new people, and hes been slightly smitten with me as a result, if i dare guess so. we went out for drinks a few times, he seems sweet, kind and doesnt harbor any extremist political beliefs (its important to me not to date fascist-sympathisers). thats all very nice but unfortunately he doesnt exactly look very attractive to me. i feel good around him bc he is kind and lovely but i think i have too much edge and that he couldnt handle my darker sides (lots of cynism, LOTS) bc he is sich a sweet summer child. and i also feel that i havent yet lived wildly and slept around and experienced all the instant gratification options life has to offer, definitelly not enough to just drop everything and consider a serious relationship with someone who doesnt feel like ive won the dating lottery (its bc of certain personal problems hes told me of having, and its bc of the looks. im an impossibly visually-oriented person. and shallow.)

You can casually date as many people as you would like until you mutually decide to be exclusive with someone. Think of dating as a networking experience: It's a chance to meet and connect with various types of people. They can become (business or pleasure, in this case) partners, friends, acquaintances, or connectors to others who will soon become members of your close inner circle (maybe even a further partner or spouse – who knows!).

You can decide to date different people for different reasons. Sometimes, you just want good conversation and decide later that you're better off as friends. Exploring the emotional intimacy aspect of a relationship with someone of the gender you're attracted to can teach you a lot about yourself and the type of partner you ultimately want to end up with – even if you don't ever kiss, let alone sleep together. Just make sure, in this case, to share that you only have a platonic connection with him before he gets too invested. Being selfish when dating is essential, but never be cruel and lead people on.

Suppose you want to see where this connection goes, without commitment. In that case, you can always indulge in casual sex with others you are physically attracted to and only go on dates with this man in a more casual dating/companionship way.

I don't think it is shallow to not want to date someone you're not physically/sexually attracted to. Unfortunately, in our current society, you wouldn't even need to question this if you were a man. There are plenty of people we really like and are emotionally attracted to in this life but have no sexual feelings towards – we call them friends.

While it could take some time to find a partner with who you're compatible in every major area, consider how much longer this process would take if you settle with men you have no true interest in before you inevitably break up with them because you're unhappy in the relationship? Staying single until your values align and mutually want rip each others' clothes off every time you see each other in the beginning stages of dating is the best strategy – in my opinion at least. It is better to be technically alone than lonely in a committed relationship. You deserve nothing but the best. Never settle for less. Keep your standards high to maintain your most valuable assets: Your happiness, success, and peace of mind.

10.) if your story is titled, why did you choose that title?

my wip is titled "To Turn Sand Back To Stone" and i thought about it a bit too much. when time is compared to a physical object, sand and stone are very common among them. sands of time, for example, meaning the ever-flowing, ever-changing passage of time. written in stone, meaning that something being fixed and unchanging, even as time passes. so already, i wanted to have a title that included stone and sand somewhere in there, a little dichotomy between changing with time and staying the same despite time.

sand is also just a bunch of very very very little rocks, while stone is stone. a stone, through the process of erosion, or through someone that really wants to break a rock, will eventually become sand. sand, however, doesnt become stone as easily. i mean it does become stone eventually, but its like,,much more complicated than just being worn down or bludgeoned repeatedly with a hammer.

the story follows two opposing ideologies. the beliefs of papillon, that time should be altered according to how anyone sees fit, that it should flow ever-changingly, like sand. and the beliefs of galan, that time should never be altered, that no one should control how the world unfolds, that the passage of time be fixed, like stone. the story begins with papillons beliefs being held by the majority of people, with time travel and constant alterations to history being the norm, and it follows the rising opposition to that.

"To Turn Sand Back To Stone," in other words, "to make an ever-changing timeline fixed again" or "the difficult task of undoing the norm."

After losing everything at the start of the Great Depression, a salesman by the name Cecil Martins commits suicide. He awakes at The End Of Time, in the headquarters of the Standard Time Timeline Management Agency, where he meets Papillon. Papillon introduces himself as the creator of time travel and the first man to achieve godhood, and he offers Cecil a position at the agency, promising power and control over time in exchange for his services. Cecil decides to join.

Though it's a difficult adjustment at first, Cecil eventually finds his place at the agency. He becomes complicit in the abuse of people from the past and turns his mind away from any moral objections to his own actions and the actions of his colleagues. But it's fine, no? His colleagues are like a family to him, and he had always wanted power and control, long before he was aware of the agency.

It's not fine.

On a mission, he meets a stranger. The stranger introduces himself as Galan, and that he's been watching Cecil for quite some time. Galan bluntly declares that time travel is an affront to the universe and must be eliminated by any means necessary, and that Cecil can either join him in this endeavor or be woefully unprepared for the True Timeline. Cecil declines and tells him that he's insane.

But Cecil's colleagues are slowly beginning to be drawn to Galan's ideas. Perhaps time shouldn't be altered in hindsight. Perhaps I don't need power. Perhaps this is wrong. And as they leave him and the agency to join this revolution, one by one, it becomes apparent that they've been hiding so much from him too.

ok trying to sort out where kurt enters the picture on the polycule. i think he's good friends with logan and is very excited to see him and he+rogue+logan are all hanging out in a little trio right from the beginning. logan's pretty overwhelmed by his life so when he starts getting feelings for rogue, kurt sortve takes the role of supportive friend and ignores his own feelings for logan, even knowing that logan's in an open poly relationship, because he doesnt want to change their relationship or put too much on logan's plate(and also as a catholic he's trying to sort out how he feels about poly for his own personal relationships. he accepts other people doing it ofc but he's not sure what HE wants). he also kind of figures he's logan's platonic bestie and doesnt want to make things awkward! then a Lot happens, and all these kids get symbiotes, and the other x-men are Really Mad About This, and kurt ends up being a sort of liason between the polycule+symbiotes and the x-men. he's sort of in the middle about whether or not this is a good idea. adding a bunch of babies with loose morals who want to eat people to a group of hormonal wild teenagers who are grappling with right and wrong seems like a recipe for disaster! but also the symbiotes deserve to live and life safely and happily, and the teens are happy to have them, and clearly its possible to safely host a symbiote because one is and has been bonded to laura without issue and they dont eat people

sidebar, i imagine 1) laura is more resistant to the symbiote eating her organs and phenethylamine because of her healing factor, but also 2) she's eating a lot more chocolate and also is buying or having hank mccoy synthesize a pill that's pure phenethylamine that she ingests every night just to keep the symbiote healthy without eating away at her, WITHOUT having to eat human heads. Sleeper doesn't love this arrangement because eating heads is fun by symbiote standards and also she's the most willing to kill people on the x-team, but they cant have the x-men Eating People! so sleeper has to live with it. if she does kill someone she sometimes lets sleeper have the head as a treat. AND i imagine the other symbiote children follow her lead, phenethylamine pills and chocolate and that keeps their needs in check!

anyway, he's popping over to the house fairly frequently, both as a friend and as a quasi-diplomat, because he's the one most willing to hear out both sides and least likely to start a big argument. and as he's seeing logan more, they start having more Moments between them, especially now that things are a little settled. they're falling into something of a routine, as much as a chaotic household of anywhere from 7~22 depending on how you count it*, and its really nice. kurt has decided he would be willing to give polyamory a try, and that he'd be happy just to have time with logan, though he isnt sure he'd want to be involved with anyone else there. but he's still not saying anything because he doesnt want to mess things up

and then maybe logan is the one to make the first move, kisses him right on the couch while the house is mostly empty, and kissing turns to something more heated, and he's pushing kurt onto his back and crawling on top, and kurt has to ask if this is a casual hookup or something more because he's willing to do either but he just has to /know/. and logan says "its as much or as little as you want it to be. you know i always want you around, elf. as much as you're willing to give me." and kurt's just melting and saying "everything. i'd give you everything."

and so kurt has joined the little family, and he gets along with most of them but is especially close with logan, who truly does Not have time for another boyfriend but he reeeaaallllyyy likes kurt he cant help himself. if he agreed to one date a month with each partner he'd have a full calendar every single day of the year. drowning in bitches

Tenshii (the blue haired one) is determined to do whatever he can to save as many supernatural creatures from tragic fates as possible~ he died and was brought back wrong and we decided he can just have litterally any problem you want to project on him and thats what he came back wrong as <3 its very fun <3 he suffers <3 hes trying desprately to pretend hes okay and he took on this angelic persona to help rpevent his friend snad loved ones from worrying about him and one day he will collapse if someone doesnt stop him <3 he wants to be perfect and okay no matter what and its hard on him! The girl has no name yet but shes a vampire and a video game developer and she will usually be fairly kind for a vampire but if you say no when she asks nicely if she can feed on you shes just going to hunt you anyways its really a mtater of do you want to do this the easy way or the hard way, she cant really afford the energy to not hunt a human once shes caught them. She does however have standards for what is and isint acceptable to do to a human shes hunting. She isint really very morally sound despite this. Shew ill absolutely psychologically play with someone making up some elaborate cafe meet cute slow burn romance with someone just to drink their blood and run. She and Tenshi bond both over their shared love of video games and he thinks he can fix her. theyre meant to be unhealthy- The idea of this art peice is "pov you were just about to be hunted for food but this fricking weird guy named Tenshii just showed up and interupted it and the cute vampire you were talking to is going to throw a tantrum"
