Feelings about KR Saber till ep10 (without spoilers)
I’m happy to have waited till ep10 to vent why I’m truly enjoying KR Saber more than prev series. Saber is delivering exactly where prev series failed. So just let me throw it all:
-THEME: Books! There is something magical about books, libraries, books stores. I just love it. And the take of children books in the gimmick is a really win for me in a KIDS SHOW. I love POPUPS books, in fact I did one for my graduation project, I know how difficult is to make them. So watching a POPUP in Saber was just so exciting for me.
-PROTAGONIST: There is a lot to say about our protagonist, Kamiyama Touma! There is something magical about Touma, starting with his wardrobe, personality and his book store. His book store seems like a magical place for children, with an awesome big model in center, plushies around, childrenbooks, pictures. Have a big heartwarming feeling for me that I almost cry in the first ep. It was like: I could have loved a place like that when kid, I could have loved an adult like Touma when kid. In fact, Saber first ep made me feel like a kid again, something that no Kamen Rider series had done… not in the first ep at least.
-PROMISES: I think this was the first and most interesting Touma’s traits that I payed attention since his description. The first BIG deception that a kid will probably have is about promises. Adults don’t compromise with promises, they lie, they always lie and us as kids learn that quite fast. Touma taking promises at heart being an adult is probably something unrealistic, but it has a big and good message that I love.
-STORY: till ep10 we don’t know exactly Touma’s backstory. But it’s obvious since the preview of the series, that Touma’s memory is important, in fact, all Saber plot revolves around Touma’s memory. We can say that Saber story is Touma’s story. There’s a PROMISE that in some point we will know. And if till ep10 we don’t know all, is because they are building things, for make us emotional, for hit us when the time comes (exactly what Build did), and ep10 is like a taste of what will become so… is exciting. There is a feeling of RUSH in the show’s pace, but I feel is because the toys. Toei/Bandai needs to sell toys so all the gimmicks and upgrades and stuff get a lot of attention and time on the episodes, but till now I feel they have done a good job trying to tell a story and sell toys at the same time. In fact, Saber have WORLD BUILDING, and it’s quite awesome how they have managed to tell us about it while selling toys. They still have a lot of things to tell about the story, about the world of Saber… but with 10 eps… this is only the beginning.
-CHARACTERS: I have already talked about Touma, but Saber offers a varied cast, that seriously put a smile in my face. Rintaro is one of the most heartwarming second rider that exist, Mei is a so extroverted and happy going heroine that feels unreal but makes you smile every time she is in screen; she is like a little girl. Kento, Ren, Ogami san, Sophia, Daishinji san, the villains: Storius and company, Calibur, Desast, the narrator Tessel, even if we don’t know exactly much about them… their characters and roles are so well stablished in the story and they interact. Saber have characters for move around and that’s good (can be a double edge sword but that… only time will decide).
-SUITS: I wasn’t a fan of Saber suits at first. But I loved the visual with the Pop Up book in the background. Saber suits are heavy with a lot of things and details and bright colors… but when you watch them in movement… they are graceful and beautiful. Hands down to suits actors, action directors and suit designers. Now I’m really loving the suits, they are truly made for move with swords. And yeah here comes the comment: the suits feel SENTAI like with the bright colors and even with the red, blue and yellow for the main riders. But… really? Visually… there is no way that a Sentai could look like that; they have more simple designs. Also there this stigma that because the riders in Saber works as a team… they are Sentai like. TEAM WORK is not only exclusive of Sentai. Team work is how jobs works, and here in Saber world… being a Kamen Rider is like a job. Sword of Logos is the organization where they work and the other Riders are comrades. Im quite loving how they work together, it’s heartwarming. TTvTT
-MUSIC: For some reason I love the OP, I keep listen to it… is slow but peaceful and warming, the visuals put a smile in my face with the main characters following Touma’s lead in a Pop Up like background. The dancing ending… another thing that people say that is SENTAI LIKE, but really? that dancing is no way a child dace… the steps are difficult and I feel it’s perfect for the show. Also love the background music that feels like a medieval epic.
-3D BACKGROUNDS: Saber is a series to enjoy in HD, have alot of 3D backgrounds and bright colors...some people could not like it (in fact i think most of people hate it). But i seriously think it’s good, it adds a magical feeling to all the series aesthetic. In fact i feel the 3D in Saber is better than prev series.
-PHRASE: “I determine how this story end” I love how in this ep10 was changed to “We determine how his story ends”. Be it I or WE, the phrase it self have the feeling of resolve and positivity.
Loving the series so far, it’s magical, lighthearted, it have books, knights, friendship, cool suits and sword fights, characters that interact and have the heartwarming feeling of human touch.
I don’t know if Saber will end being a good series… but have a lot to deliver… and I hope it does till the end.
I think i will do this again by ep20 to see how the series is progressing.

I love your Nie brothers content, all of it, but there is so little written about the friendship between Nie Huaisang and Wei Wuxian! We know they were friends in Cloud Recesses, but it's never explored how these genius guys, even if one is focused on magical inovations and the other on strategy and politics, got on. Something which shows how well they got each other would be great
1
Wei Wuxian’s fist trembled. How dare he – worthless peacock – my shijie..!
But before he could throw a punch, he saw a swirl of white – Lan Wangji, sweeping forward with a face like a graveyard, and Nie Huaisang cringing in his shadow – and suddenly he realized that he didn’t need to punch Jin Zixuan.
Speaking of others behind their backs is forbidden.
Sneering without reason is forbidden.
Arrogance is forbidden.
Do not be haughty and complacent.
Do not praise yourself and slander others.
Do not make assumptions about others.
Do not insult people.
Do not take your words lightly.
Wei Wuxian grinned with teeth. “Hey, Lan Zhan!” he sang out, and Jin Zixuan blanched. “Perfect timing!”
Later, after he’d laughed himself sick at Jin Zixuan’s punishment – humiliatingly perfect – and making his appreciation very clear to Lan Wangji, he went to go find Nie Huaisang.
“When did you go get Lan Zhan?” he asked, honestly curious. He hadn’t known he was going to get into a fight until he was there and it was happening, but Nie Huaisang, of all people, had apparently figured out what was going to happen before it happened and took steps to fix it.
“The second they started talking about girls,” Nie Huaisang said promptly. “It’s fairly obvious that Jin Zixuan is resentful of his parents managing his life and he’s lashing out at everything, including specifically your shijie, so a nasty comment was inevitable.”
Wei Wuxian blinked, derailed from his original line of questioning. “He – what? Wait, that’s why he’s so rude about my shijie?”
“Of course,” Nie Huaisang said, blinking back at him. “What did you think? That he just didn’t like her? He’s barely even met her.”
Wei Wuxian hadn’t thought about that way, but it made a certain amount of sense. “When did you get so good at reading people?” he asked, bemused. “I didn’t…uh…”
“Think I have any skills?”
Wei Wuxian coughed.
“I don’t!” Nie Huaisang beamed, clearly very proud of it. “But I do have a lot of expensive hobbies, and that means I need pocket money.”
Wei Wuxian wasn’t sure he understood the connection, and said as much.
Nie Huaisang laughed at him. “The Nie sect believes in self-sufficiency,” he explained. “My brother gives me a certain amount of money to spend, sure, but we’re not the Jin sect; I can’t just buy everything that I lay my eyes on and send the bill back home – my brother would break my legs! I’m expected to find a way to increase the money I get until it’s enough to cover both my needs and wants, necessities and luxuries both, and if I can’t, then I have to do without luxuries.”
Nie Huaisang has never, not once, in the entire few months Wei Wuxian spent in his company, done without luxuries.
“So,” Wei Wuxian said, feeling oddly unnerved and unsure why, “you learned how to read people because you want to act like…a merchant?”
Nie Huaisang lightly tapped his head with his fan, rolling his eyes at him. “Stop being such a landed gentry young master, Wei-xiong. There’s nothing wrong with trade! How much of your sect’s money comes from merchants interested in keeping their trade routes free of resentful energy?”
Wei Wuxian wrinkled his nose a little. “That’s cheapening it a bit, don’t you think? As cultivators, it’s our duty to stand up as heroes, to defend the innocent and defeat evil, to purify –”
“Right, right. Remind me again how the Jiang sect pays for all that pretty purple?”
“Well…I mean…”
Technically, yes, there were all the dye sellers and the fabric merchants, but…
Nie Huaisang was laughing at him.
“Don’t worry about it, Wei-xiong,” he said, wiping his eyes. “You stick to doing your own thing. If you ever need to sell anything, come to me.”
“Of course,” Wei Wuxian said, privately thinking to himself that he’d rather farm for crops than become a seller hawking his goods in the marketplace. “Hey, wait, what is it that you sell, anyway?”
Nie Huaisang sniggered and refused to tell him.
2
It was porn.
Also barbeque and liquor, although in that case Nie Huaisang mostly played the middleman between the vendors of Caiyi Town and the students stuck eating Lan vegetables.
Sometimes he could even be convinced to tug on his contacts for other things, too.
“You’re a true friend,” Wei Wuxian said, clutching the bottle of chili sauce to his chest. “A true and wonderful friend.”
“You still have to pay,” Nie Huaisang said, his eyes curving up behind his fan. “No discounts.”
“A ruthless, vicious, cut-throat friend…”
“I lend you the porn for free, don’t I?
“Wonderful! Wonderful friend!”
3
No matter what Jiang Cheng said, Wei Wuxian was trying to keep his head down during their time at the indoctrination camp. He was taking this whole thing very seriously: he wasn’t making a fuss (too much), he wasn’t being insulting (too much), he wasn’t even socializing (too much).
Lan Wangji didn’t count, anyway; after what had happened to him, he needed someone bothering him.
But Wei Wuxian was being good and keeping back from the rest!
Well, he was, except then he saw Nie Huaisang and just had to go over to say hello. It was only polite, and had nothing to do with the fact that during the months he spent at the Cloud Recesses, he’d learned that Nie Huaisang could sell anyone on anything.
“I don’t suppose you have contacts that will sell you barbeque here,” Wei Wuxian said as a greeting, because the food they’d received was frankly disgusting in a way that made him wistful for the Lan sect like it had been a gourmet restaurant.
“Well,” Nie Huaisang hedged, and Wei Wuxian’s eyebrows shot up. “Don’t get too excited, it’s not barbeque…”
It was meat, though, chunks of that had probably been roasted as skewers at one point, and Wei Wuxian didn’t even care that it was cold as he scarfed it down, immediately feeling ten times better than he’d been before.
“Where?” he asked. “How?”
“There’ll be a surprise inspection tomorrow morning,” Nie Huaisang said instead. “Keep your head down, they’re looking to make an example out of somebody.”
“How do you know that?”
Nie Huaisang shrugged. “I brought art.”
“To the indoctrination camp?”
“Wen soldiers get lonely and bored too, Wei-xiong.”
“You’re trading for information using porn?”
“Don’t be silly. I’m trading porn for meat, and getting the information while we’re chatting. A large number of the Wen sect cultivators used to be their own sects, you know, before they were absorbed, and not all of them are happy about what’s going on here. You just have to figure out who the loyalists are, avoid them, and focus on the rest, and it’s easy.”
“I still can’t believe you brought porn to the Wen sect,” Wei Wuxian said, shaking his head. “What’ll you do if your brother finds out?”
“You’re joking, right? He helped me pack it.”
Wei Wuxian will never understand the Nie sect.
4
Wei Wuxian stared wordlessly at his bowl.
There was a single slice of radish in it.
“Is this a joke?” he asked Wen Qing, because it might be, and she glared at him, meaning that no, it was not. “Don’t we have anything else?”
“With what money, Wen-gongzi? Do you think it comes from thin air?”
“I had a friend once who could make it come out of thin air,” he grumbled, looking down at his bowl. He’d practiced inedia, he didn’t need it, except for the fact that he really, really did. Not having a golden core made things hard. “He could’ve sold fish to fishermen, except he mostly just sold porn.”
Wen Qing rolled her eyes at him. “Wonderful story, Wei-gongzi. Positively heartwarming. But unless your old erotic art dealer is going to come to Yiling to help us sell some radishes, I don’t care.”
Naturally, that was impossible. Wei Wuxian was a villain now, his name blackened, the whole cultivation world against him –
Actually, as far as he could tell, the Nie sect didn’t seem to give a damn about him one way or another. From all the stories Nie Huaisang had told about his brother and from everything he’d seen in the war, Nie Mingjue wasn’t the sort of person to let evil sit around on a mountain while he was busy with other things – if he objected, he’d be there the next day with his saber, ready to put him in his place.
He hadn’t, obviously.
His hatred of the Wen sect was pretty well-known, but he’d taken no action at all to invade Yiling and demand that Wei Wuxian hand them over, and Wei Wuxian was mostly sure that it wasn’t because he was scared of what Wei Wuxian could do with the Stygian Tiger Seal.
…it was probably just the hunger getting to him and making him think crazy things. Not caring enough to go against him was pretty far from supporting him, after all.
But, hey, he wouldn’t be risking anything if he just wrote a tiny little letter asking Nie Huaisang for some advice on selling things, right?
I never thought I’d see the day my Wei-xiong finally became a merchant, the return letter said. I’ll be there in three days. I expect to see liquor.
Wei Wuxian took Wen Ning down the mountain and stood on his shoulders in order to emancipate a jar from the local tavern, but by the time Nie Huaisang arrived, there was, in fact, liquor.
Even Wen Qing – who had opposed the entire outing once she had heard about it upon their return – suddenly thought it was a perfectly reasonable sort of theft when Nie Huaisang offered to trade a giant crate full of meat for it.
“We had some leftovers from a boar hunt,” Nie Huaisang said mournfully, accepting the liquor and a bowl of radishes. “I need variety, Wei-gongzi, it’s terrible. You have to help me get rid of it; I can’t stand to look at it any longer.”
“You’re not supposed to be here,” Wei Wuxian reminded him in between glorious bites of pork. He was going to be a very good friend and do his best to ensure that Nie Huaisang’s request was fulfilled, even if it meant taking seconds and possibly thirds. “I asked for advice, not a visit.”
“You can’t expect me to put my good name on what could be inferior goods,” Nie Huaisang sniffed.
“Your good name? The one known for porn, you mean?”
Nie Huaisang rolled his eyes at him. “So show me what you have to sell.”
“It’s mostly just the radishes,” Wei Wuxian said. “I tried to tell Wen Qing that we should plant potatoes, but –”
“Forget the radishes,” Nie Huaisang said. “What’s this I hear about you designing a compass that pinpoints resentful energy?”
“Oh, that?” Wei Wuxian said, blinking. “Yeah, I made one of those – the Burial Mounds is the biggest source of resentful energy around, and it’s easier to have a compass that points home instead of north, you know? But what does that have to do with selling radishes?”
“Wei-xiong, you’re hopeless. Leave it all to me, and you’ll have your sect up and running in no time.”
“Yeah, that would be – wait, sect? What sect?”
“Actually,” Nie Huaisang said, tapping his fan against his cheek. He was just plain old ignoring Wei Wuxian now, which, hey! “I take it back – before you leave everything to me, show me what other ideas you’ve been cooking up. What about those talismans you used during the war? The spirit-drawing ones?”
“Spirit summoning,” Wei Wuxian corrected.
“Yes, those. Have you improved on those at all?”
“Uh, I mean, I guess…”
“Good. Show me everything.”
5
“So I have a sect now,” Wei Wuxian told Lan Wangji, who had come to visit. “We sell things to support it. Apparently.”
Lan Wangji nodded, apparently already aware of this. “The clan elders have agreed that using your flags to draw fierce corpses and other creatures away from areas with innocent human lives is an acceptable use.”
“Even the Lan sect?” Wei Wuxian marveled. “No wonder we’re making so much money.”
Then he sighed.
Lan Wangji looked questioningly at him.
“Well, I have a sect now,” Wei Wuxian said. “Everyone’s expecting me to – you know. Form the core of the sect.”
“Marry,” Lan Wangji concluded. Possibly advised? No, that didn’t sound like he was urging him to go ahead, which made a total of one person. “You do not have to if you do not wish. You already have an heir.”
“A-Yuan’s too young to be a proper heir,” Wei Wuxian objected, though he was secretly gleeful that people were generally accepting him as one. “And obviously I can’t just pick anyone; how will I know if they’re a spy? Or if they’ll secretly dislike A-Yuan?” He sighed again. “The worst part is, I think Nie Huaisang is plotting against me, too.”
“Plotting?”
“Yeah! He’s encouraging people to ask me about marriage, when clearly it’s better for me to stay off the market…what about you, Lan Zhan? Are you planning on marrying?”
“No,” Lan Wangji said.
“We’ll be a bunch of old bachelors, then,” Wei Wuxian said. “You should come more often, A-Yuan loves you…hey! I have a great idea! Why don’t we get married? Then no one will bother us ever again!”
“Mm,” Lan Wangji said.
“Mm? What does that mean?”
“It means I will need to send Nie Huaisang his payment in the morning,” Lan Wangji said, and moved to sit next to Wei Wuxian.
“Payment? You bought something from him? What did you want to –”
Lan Wangji silenced him pretty effectively, no spell necessary, and by the time Wei Wuxian retained enough ability to think through what exactly the purchase must have been, he’d already been converted to thinking that it was a very intelligent purchase to make.
Nie Huaisang really could sell anything.

Hospital Playlist : Season 1
So, I recently re-watched season 1 of Hospital Playlist in preparation of season 2 that’s going to be released on the 17th of June, and I have a couple of thoughts that I want to share. Warning: It’s going to be filled with spoilers, so for those looking to avoid that, please don’t read more. Also, this is a looooonnnnggg one :)
“Hospital Playlist” is a Korean Drama that follows five doctors in their 40s who have been best friends since adolescence as they form a band together. While the log-line appears simple, the depth in the script and acting will enchant any audience. The narrative is free-spirited and quirky, reverberating friendships forged by love and time in a heart-warming style.
This slice of life drama realistically tackles what occurs within the white walls of the hospital. From ungrateful patients to the long wait for donors, it has it all. This drama covered plenty of cases, each of them as sad as the next. I recall when Yang Seok Hyeong, an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynaecology, had a patient who delivered a baby with anencephaly. He was considerate enough to not allow the mother to hear the baby’s cries by playing loud music in the delivery room and quickly escorting the baby away from the mother. I teared up during that scene, and I still tear up just thinking about that. I watched it as a case in a K-Drama, but it is many people’s gruesome reality, and all I can offer are my sympathies.
Despite zoning out during the technical aspects and elucidation of medical terminologies, I could feel the gravity of an operation and the burden of Atlas resting on the doctors when they held the scalpel. I liked the fact that there wasn’t any hospital politics. Rather, the show focused on the doctors, as they tried their best to save their patients. I mourned during the losses of life and celebrated with the characters after a successful surgery.
The ensemble cast for “Hospital Playlist” was flawless. The sincerity of the actors and the efforts they had put into studying and understanding their roles were clear as day. The chemistry between them was organic and the banters, natural. While they didn’t verbalise every emotion, the viewers could feel their familiarity, like they were real-life friends on screen. I was on an emotional rollercoaster as I watched this, rooting for them through hardships and cheering whenever they laughed.
“I wondered why my life was getting so difficult. It was really tough. But all of a sudden, one day, I realised how much time I was wasting. Wasting my life away like this because of what she did to me was doing a disservice to myself.”
Jo Jung-Suk did a flawless job portraying Lee Ik-Jun. This was my second time witnessing a drama with Jo Jung Suk, and while I wouldn’t applaud his performance in “Oh, My Ghostess!” (But in his defence, I found that script to be problematic) I absolutely loved him in “Hospital Playlist”. Lee Ik-Jun is an assistant professor of general surgery. He’s funny, sociable, laid-back, charming, and a dotting, single father to his son, Woo Joo.
The first time I, as the viewer, was introduced to him was gold. Naughty little Woo Joo had managed to put a blotch of super glue to a Darth Vader helmet, which was later worn by his father. During an emergency at the hospital, Ik Jun showed up decked in Darth Vader gear and bravely holding a light saber, demanding that the helmet was unglued from his head. He got his wish, but only after performing surgery while wearing the helmet.
Watching Ik-Jun and his son together is heartwarming, to say the least. You can tell how much he loves his son, as seen by the way he prepared meatballs from scratch, including the ketchup, excitedly for his son, only for the latter to claim he wanted meatballs, causing the former to trip on his way to the kitchen. I also adore how most of the bonding scenes we see between them happens over sandwiches. I find that very precious.
Ik Jun is also very friendly to everyone. He warmly welcomes the medical students, greets his colleagues with a smile, and most notably, plays as a matchmaker between Jeong-won and Jang Gyeo-wool, even if it is so the latter could assist him on more surgeries. His relationship with his sister is also beautiful. I love how authentic they are, from their bickering and the hidden ways they care for each other.
Ik Jun provides comic relief plenty of times— I nearly fell off my chair laughing when he mimicked a train, and also upon seeing how adamant he was to eavesdrop on a private phone conversation of Kim Jun-wan.
“I don’t deserve to be a doctor. I can’t control my emotions. I empathise too easily.”
I must admit, Ahn Jeong Won has a soft spot in my heart and is my favourite from the group of friends. An assistant professor of pediatric surgery, Jeong Won gets overly attached to patients and takes every loss personally. Due to his sensitive nature, he’s detailed in everything he does, earning the teasing nickname of “Buddha” from his colleagues.
Hardworking but overemotional, there have been many instances when Jeong Won swears to quit being a doctor after a patient has unfortunately succumbed, and it’s only through the insistence of his oldest brother does he continue his job. He’s immensely religious and has a close relationship with God, and considered being a priest until the season finale.
His interactions with his young patients tug on all my heartstrings. From the gentle way he gets the permission of small children to check their vitals, to the dedication with which he treats his patients and dissolves their fears.
One of my favourite quotes of this drama was said by him, “Do you know why doctors only give vague answers such as ‘We can’t be sure yet,’ ‘We don’t know yet,’ and ‘We need to observe a bit more?’ Doctors must take responsibility for their words, so we must be careful. There’s only one thing we, as doctors, can tell our patients with certainty. ‘We will do our best.’”
Despite being born from a wealthy family, Jeong Won is nearly broke, spending all his fortune anonymously covering the hospital fees of poor patients.
Chae Song Hwa summarised Jeong Won’s personality neatly in episode 12 when she said, “Lastly, there’s you (Jeong Won). Seeing others enjoy good food makes you happier than when you are eating it yourself.”
“If the doctor gives up on the patient, he isn’t a doctor anymore.”
At first glance, Kim Jun Wan appears cold and scary, but there are so many dimensions to his character. He’s blunt, assertive and has a reputation for telling his patients what they need to hear, not that they want to hear.
However, he’s possibly the most caring person, having allowed Jeong Won to, in his own words, “mooch” of him for years now. He was also always nagging and hovering over his friends, keeping a stash of chocolates for them. He stepped up as the Chief of the cardiothoracic surgery department multiple times, whether it was to act as a shield to his mentee or to reprimand his juniors about the importance of (a patient’s) life and how every single decision taken by a doctor has to be thoughtful and absolute because there’s no way to reverse such things.
A great example of his outer versus inner personality is when he’s questioned by a medical student on why he chose to be a cardiothoracic surgeon. While he claimed that he became a surgeon after asking his professor which job would allow him to get the most money, with a glimpse of a flashback scene, it was revealed that when back as a student, Jun Wan was given the opportunity to witness a surgery and then, to touch a beating human heart, and felt life, that solidified his decision to choose cardiology as his field. Recalling that scene gives me goosebumps even now. That was magical.
Jun Wan is also a huge foodie, his only competition being Song-Hwa.
“What have you done for yourself lately?”
Chae Song Hwa is an associate professor of neurosurgery. Discerning without being too critical, she is intelligent and is often the mother hen of the group. Respected by her juniors, she has also been fondly dubbed the ‘ghost’ due to her busy schedule that has left several of her colleagues wondering whether she has time to eat or sleep. She was everywhere and knew everything, which allowed her to quietly look after the residents of the hospital and the patients.
Despite being buried under piles of work, she still made the time to grade her juniors papers, and I’m reminded of one of the first instances the viewers were given of her, which was when she comforted a patient in the elevators of a hospital. The only female professor in neurosurgery, she is kind to her patients.
I adore how decisive she is, being extremely clear about what she wants, drawing boundaries while still being friendly and radiating professionalism to those around her, despite the hardships she might be going through. She routinely goes camping during the weekend and is the embodiment of positive self-love.
Some of my favourite moments in this drama was literally just Song Hwa and Jun Wan aggressively eating like they’ve been hungry since the dawn of time. Song Hwa might have claimed that the reason she ate so rapidly, so full of zeal was because of growing up with older brothers, but Ik Jun was quick to shoot her down and note that they all looked boney.
“My time is too precious for that. I want to live doing the things I like. And the things I want to do right now.”
Probably the most under-appreciated character, Yang Seok Hyeong is a treasure. My first opinion of him was ‘mama’s boy’ and while I was correct, wow, I had not expected the reason why. In his youth, Seok Hyeong was not close to his mother at all, and we could even see him ignoring her phone calls. But after everything that happened with his dad, he grew closer to his mother, developed a new sense of protectiveness and appreciation for her, and I adore that.
He was also the reason the band reunited in the first place, making that his condition for working at the Yulje Medical Center. Despite seeming aloof, he was an open book to his friends. He didn’t like to bother or intrude on people and usually kept to himself, gaining a reputation for being a loner whenever he was not around his four friends.
Throughout the season, he was trapped in a whirlwind of turmoil, from the news of his unexpected brother to his father’s death and his surprise succession to the company he wants no ties with. He maintains a calm exterior and braces through the troubles.
Seok Hyeong lives up to the sensitivity his job demands from him, softly informing expecting mothers about the risks of their pregnancies while encouraging and empathising with them when things get hard.
He prefers to stay in the shadows and allow people the opportunity to sort their messes out themselves, after reminding them that he’s only a call away if they need him. He’s an excellent confident booster and appreciates those who are responsible.
These characters stayed not only in my mind but also in my heart. Each of them has such vivid personalities I can’t entirely capture in words. Their insecurities, struggles, and feelings were so real and incredibly relatable and easy to empathise with.
As conveyed by the title, music plays an important part in this T.V. serial, by allowing the characters to reminisce their college days and also allowing them a breather from their stressful life. There are thousands of words in the English language, and yet, I can’t string together enough of them to express how I felt when Jo Jung Seok sang Aloha.
The doctors use music not only as an outlet to release their frustrations, but also to express their thoughts and feelings. To heal. Listening to the songs and the covers made by the band lightened my heart. The labour they put into practising the songs made the moments more precious.
Through the music sessions in this T.V. serial, I found my affection for each character increasing. I found myself surprised to recognise some of the songs considering they are quite old, but I hummed along and felt the air around me thrum with glee as they sang.
I also found it rather ironic that Chae Song Hwa is considered to be a bad singer (her pre-routine of gulping down raw eggs fascinated me on an odd level) although the actress who plays her, Jeon Mi Do is a talented singer.
Therapeutic and well-written, I marvel at the writer’s ability to weave together arrays of mundane subplots into endearing bliss, leaving lingering positivity after every episode along with a yearning to watch more.
I’m a huge fan of writer Lee Woo-Jung’s Reply series and was hesitant to start this drama, afraid that it would fall short of expectations. But having watched it, I can safely say that those concerns were unnecessary, and whatever expectations I had were only exceeded. I couldn’t recognise any leading plotline of this drama. To me, it simply showcased the daily life of five doctors.
As it is character-driven, there is a slow progression of the drama, which needs some time getting adapted to. It was also a little hard trying to keep track of the multiple characters initially introduced, but within three episodes, I was able to get a hang of things. The dialogues were witty, impactful and sharp, capturing my attention from the beginning to the end. However, despite containing a plethora of humorous moments throughout this serial, there was a subdued layer that focused more on the community than the plot.
I must admit, however, that I found the first episode to be subtly chaotic and slow-paced. I couldn’t grasp the concepts or connect with the characters until the second episode, after which I had no qualms.
I loved the character arcs in this story. It was a pleasure to observe their journeys and diligence as various storylines diverged or amalgamated, how they grew as individuals while maintaining their core values. The flashback scenes were fascinating to watch and compare how they are now to how they used to be.
The cinematography was stunning. I was in awe at how different shades and tones of light could impact not only the setting of the scene but also the mood of the viewers.
I recommend “Hospital Playlist” to anyone who likes to watch T.V. serials possessing the perfect amount of drama, laughter, angst, warmth and love. This serial is a truly rare gem in a basket of rocks where the storylines are solid without being too predictable.

Changes - Inquis!Cal Kestis x Jedi!Reader: part one
Cal has always been successful at his job for the Empire, getting accurate intel from credible sources... Jedi. However, when he’s told to capture the rebel who has made a new appearance across the galaxy, will his reputation be upheld as an inquisitor or will she slip through his fingers as something else than the enemy?
Warnings: None, just spoilers.
Notes: in this, Cal is (obviously) an inquisitor and the female reader is the Jedi (duh) in this. The reader follows Cal’s storyline in the video game, and Cal follows what is the second sisters storyline (kinda). I tried to keep some dialogue from the game.
POV: Narrator’s. eventually will switch to Cal’s or the Reader’s.
Tumblr media
“What do you mean she got away?” The leather-gloved fists smashed into an elevator’s control panel, shrapnel flew and a low buzz followed the small burst of electricity. “I sent two purge stormtroopers after this rebel and they both end up dead? How have any of you got anything done this far along!” Strips of ginger hair fell into his face as his head dropped down.
The stormtrooper stumbled over his words, “sh-she just killed them like it was no problem. Sir, she has had training in the force and with her lightsaber more than we expected.” The two men in glossy white armor fixed their stances as the Second Brother looked back up.
He took a deep breath and pulled his hair back into its original position out of his eyes, “where is she heading?”
“We have reason to believe she is heading back to Zeffo, Brother.”
He nodded and a slow smile rose on his face, “set course for Zeffo, get my ship ready.”
“Right away.”
-On the Mantis-
“I’m glad that you believe in what we’re trying to accomplish.” Cere spoke to the Jedi as they proceeded down the catwalk from the Mantis.
“You know i do, without restoring The Order, there’d be no peace, no freedom.” The woman replied, her boots clanking with each step she took. “I just hope that we can accomplish it.”
Cere gave her a heartwarming smile, “with you, a Jedi, fighting the Empire, we can accomplish anything. Now go find that tomb, Y/N.” She nodded in replied and lightly tapped Cere’s shoulder as she headed towards the hanger.
The faint rain coated her face and dark poncho in moisture, her boots splashing water with each foot going forward. Fallen stormtroopers marked her path, all the way from the hanger near the Mantis to the Ice Caves. “Stop, Jedi!” A stormtrooper pointed before being stricken by a lightsaber.
“Stop, Jedi!” She playfully mocked as she made her way into an Imperial building, what she presumed to be where the excavations were being originated at. “Why is it so quiet?” Y/N asked herself, making slow careful steps along an empty hallway.
She looked down and dropped of the landing into some dirt, when she looked up, a masked inquisitor stood right in front of her. “It’s about time we met. Do you know the headaches you’ve given me?”
The Jedi quickly looked around and examined her surroundings, trying to find some sort of exit or upper ground she could give herself in order to not be killed by her experienced opponent. “That’d make one of us. If you were aiming to kill me,” she paused and looked up and down at herself. “you might have failed.”
An obvious scrunch of the leather gloves tightening the grip of the lightsaber sent her nerves aflame, almost as enflamed as the inquisitor’s attitude. “I can see you’re as much of an ass as you’ve been a pain in.” Cal took a few large steps forward, shortening the distance between the two slowly and smoothly. “I’ve realized that purge troopers are just as useless when it comes to the average, expendable stormtrooper, thanks to you. I’ve also realized that if you want something done, like a dead Jedi, per se, you need to do it yourself.”
With the ignition of the red imperial lightsaber and a swing towards her, Y/N exposed her blue saber and parried the inquisitor’s blow. She tried to strike back but he quickly evaded her strike, knock her off center balance. As he dodged to the side, Cal swiped his saber along the Jedi’s side, a scream of pain releasing from her.
Under his helmet, the Second Brother smiled, but reconsidered his next move. Should I kill her? she might have some good intel. The Jedi regained balance and tried to go for Cal’s chestpiece but he struck his lightsaber against hers, knocking it out of her grasp.
Y/N tried to use the Force to bring it back into her hand, but Cal caught it before her. “Oh, Jedi. Now what? Without your lightsaber you have nothing.” He teased the fallen girl, she looked up to him with wide eyes. “You’re weak. You failed your master, if only he could see you now.”
Anger filled the pit of her stomach, along with sadness. “You have no right to talk about him,” she cried, trying to get up but falling once more, from her injuries sustained on her side. “You find pride in murder, in genocide, there is no room in you to call me a failure.”
“You think i care about them? You think i care about enforcing order? Don’t make me laugh.” Cal stepped towards her, towering over Y/N. He ignited his red saber once more, lining it up to her throat. “Murder comes with life, murder comes with order, and your death is a one-way ticket to that.”
Y/N looked behind the inquisitor and saw a loose bar, she glanced back at the masked figure and realized it was now or never. She quickly lifted her hand and pulled, the solid metal column came crashing down onto the Second Brother. He was pulled and pinned down under the bar, a groan of pain briefly emitting from him before he pushed the bar off of him.
The Jedi ran as fast as she could away from the inquisitor, grabbing her lightsaber as he chased behind her, about to strike her once more. She dived through a doorway and watched as he stopped, interrupted by the red barrier lighting up, thanks to BD-1 quickly overcharging it. “Look at you, finally making a right move.” he scoffed.
Y/N picked herself and BD up before running towards the steps, not caring about getting the final word in. “Y/N!” Cal called, she stopped in her tracks before turning to face him. He removed his mask and smiled grimly, “say hi to Cere for me.”

Fate/hollow ataraxia Part 4 - Hooray to Maid Outfits and Swimsuits! (Phase 4)
Tumblr media
Awww, Rin flew all the way back from London just because she "supposedly" got an SOS message from Shirou, that's so sweet of her. Whoever sent it probably needs her to be back to settle things with the war but hmmm~ Now that Tohsaka is back, I remember why I love her so much, I just think her banter with Shirou is so amusing and natural haha. It was sooo cuteee when Shirou said he would follow Tohsaka anywhere, I love them🥰 Lmao at Shirou and Tohsaka imagining Saber and them in maid outfits. Saber's looks like cosplay, Sakura feels so at home with it and omggg Rider looks like such an awesome maid hahaha. Honestly, Rider looks the best in the maid outfit but u can't deny how much I love how bright and wonderful Rin looks in it. HAHAHA, I love how Rin burst out laughing when it came to imagining Taiga in a maid outfit loll. Anyway, damn, that bath scene with Rider was something I didn't know I needed. Honestly, Rider is definitely a best girl for me and I love her, but that scene made me love the idea of her and Shirou so much more. They would be so fun but so hot at the same time lmao. I found Rider being able to control her hair kinda funny, I guess she is Medusa but lmaoo at the thought of her wriggling around with Shirou trying to catch them all hahahah. It was cool seeing Rider's backstory of how she died but LMAO at her nightmare that led to her losing to Perseus and being beheaded. It's like she was Cinderella, being bullied by her sisters LOL. On the other hand, now I can better understand why she said once upon a time why she didn't like how tall she was and how it's better to be small and petite like Saber or something, she's been brainwashed by her sisters into thinking that being "big" is ugly and no one will like her. That's so sad because dang, Rider has always been the character I fell in love with the most in FSN (in terms of looks) because I absolutely love her design and everything. Poor Rider! At least it seems that despite everything, Rider still loved and enjoyed her time with her sisters, and feels sad that she can never see them again...
Tumblr media
Saber enjoying her meat bun was so adorableeee and wholesome, she looked so happy about it lol. On the other hand, I couldn't stop laughing at how easily Saber and Rider mended their differences just through Rider giving Saber obanyaki and then buying her even more food lmaooo, I nearly died because they were so silly hahahah. Anyway, Saber eats so much, I don't know how everyone isn't poor yet lmao. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention how much I liked how Shirou and Shinji talked over coffee at Shirou's place. Honestly, Shinji is still the biggest shit for what he did to Sakura etc, and I won't ever forgive him for that, but if we go with the "redeemed" him in this game, I found it kinda heartwarming to finally see how Shirou and Shinji became friends, because it just felt like such a Shinji thing to do, talk crap about Shirou but still staying with him lol. It's actually pretty sad how Shinji ended up being the one to ruin things (as always) after the archery stuff. HAHAHA, Ilya giving Rin and them that drink that ended up making Rin keep saying nyaa in all her words was hilarious. I never realised that cats were Rin's favourite animal. Lmaooo when Saber went gaooo like a lion😂😂😂
Tumblr media
Okay, Rin being shy to show Shirou her swimsuit was so cuteee, it was so crazy how forward Shirou was though, he literally told her so many times that he really wants to see her in a swimsuit and that they're here at the water park because he wants to see it, omggg so brave but cuteee. As expected, Rin looks great in her swimsuit, but I think if I had to choose who looked best, Sakura probably looked the best in hers. Rin definitely has the best CG in the water park though like danggg, she looks beautiful. I found it funny how Rin was like the condition to see her swimsuit was that Shirou has to obey all her demands for the day but he already does that anyway😂 LMAO when Rider just randomly interrupted Rin and Shirou's relaxing time, but OMG Rider is breathtaking in that swimsuit and without her glasses. And omggg her smile!! Definitely to die for. Okay, lmao I died when Shirou said Rider looked perfect in her swimsuit, I can imagine Rin killing him soon😂😂 Oh wait, Rin teasing Shirou about staring at Rider is even more fun than her getting mad, it's so good😂 Shirou is so blunt, I love him. It was so cute how Rin was sulking because Rider was so perfect, and Shirou started telling her how he admires Rider's looks, but the swimsuit that made him happy and excited was Rin's, like omggg he's so honest hahahaha! Rider is 57kg?! I'm suddenly feeling super obese right now.... Anyway lmao at Rin and Rider talking about split ends and then thinking about whether Assassin (Sasaki Kojirou) has split ends with that long hair😂 The thought of Assassin maintaining his hair because he has nothing to do is hilarious hahahaha.
Tumblr media
Lmaoo when Shirou is looking at movies and there's "Tiger Dojo - The Movie". I would honestly love to watch that. Seeing Shirou run so desperately to Rin's house to check that she's all right was very heartwarming, and the princess carry to her bed~ Rin's various expressions eating the oatmeal he made was so cute. Rin's satisfied and happy smile over Shirou's awkward goodnight kiss was so cuteee. LOL when Saber and Rin tried to find Shirou's porn stash, and then when they found something but it was Shinji's and Rin got mad that Shirou made her see what Shinji's tastes are😂😂 LMAO at Caster's perspective on what Issei is like when he's critiquing her ability on housewife duties, and lmaoo how he always compares her to how Shirou would be like😂😂 I wonder how much of it is true hahahah. Lmao when Rider and Caster ganged up on Saber calling her a freeloader😂 Lmaoo at Rin jumping down from the ceiling or something to announce that she would join Illya and Shirou and them to the pool, and then everyone starts showing up too😂 It's so funny how they literally reserved the whole water park loll, and omggg I didn't expect Sella to have long thin hair like that! Anyway, I agree with Rin that all the girls have their own charms and they all look good in their respective swimsuits, but lmaooo when Rin turned into a statue seeing Sakura in her bikini😂 LOLL when Sakura absolutely destroyed Rin by basically saying her bust size was insignificant and that it's all right to be hopeless in one area, she's so ruthless, I died😂😂 HAHAHA, I love how Sakura started thinking she'd be the winner today, and then Liz shows up, her purple bikini looks really good though, and I love her short hair😂 LOL at Sakura and Rin (the two losers😂) sulking by the poolside with a random dead ducky in the water hahahah. Omggg I was wondering what Illya would look like in her swimsuit and she's super adorableeee! I love it.
Tumblr media
That Momotaro sequel play was very... interesting lmao, I loved how Rin was the last boss/villain. Now we finally know that the silver haired girl is called Caren and is actually some sort of observer over Shirou and the weird things happening because of the grail popping up again or whatever. I wonder if we're finally getting into the actual plot now since the next phase is the last phase? Or the second last anyway. Nothing much to say about this phase besides yayyy to water park scenarios! Banzai! LOL. I loved how we got to everyone in swimsuits and how much fun it was to have everyone just enjoy it and play around together, I thought it felt very nice and sweet, especially since even Illya’s maids came hahaha.

Worth It // Anakin Skywalker
XFEMALE!READER
Summary: You are sent on a mission from the Council by yourself to the Outer Rim planet, Raxus. There, you encounter unexpected enemy forces. There are fears you won’t make it home alive.
TW: Lightsaber fights, love confessions, taunting, mentions of a hospital setting, near-death experience.
Like for Obi-Wan, I’m still getting used to writing for other characters, so bear with me! I’m also really sorry for not posting very often, school is quite a challenge to work around.
You were called to meet with the Council in order to get your new assignment. The young Nautolan Padawan sent to fetch you was rather excited to be able to deliver the news from Master Windu. His green tendrils were decorated with leather and his Padawan beads. Hol, his name was. Hol walked alongside you on your way to the Temple. Every now and then the pressure built up from holding in questions would burst, and one would sprout from his mouth.
“Is it true that Master Skywalker is going to take on a Padawan?”
“I’m sure he will in the near future, young one. He has a lot of knowledge to pass down.” You smiled down to the young Jedi. He was training under Master Yoda, an impressive achievement.
The door to the Council came into view. Once you and Hol had gotten closer, the doors opened, letting you through to see the Council, as well as Obi-Wan and Anakin. Making your way through the doors, you stood in the middle of the room as Hol went to stand to the left of Yoda.
“Master Y/N, we have an assignment for you,” began Windu. “You are to travel to the Outer Rim planet, Raxus. We’ve heard of Separatist activity happening on the planet surface, and we need you to bring back a report.”
“Yes, Master Windu.” Your voice carried strong. “Who will be accompanying me?”
Windu sighed. “We can’t spare anymore Jedi, I’m sorry Y/N. You will have to do this one alone.”
Both the voices of Anakin and Hol spoke up.
“No, you can’t-”
“I’ll go with her-”
They were both cut off with a wave of Yoda’s hand. “No, my young apprentice. With her on this mission you cannot go.” His gaze moved to Anakin. “Young Skywalker, needed here on Coruscant you are. Much larger than you know, this war is.”
The two boys sighed in defeat. Master Yoda was right. You would have to go this one alone.
“A ship is waiting for you, along with an R6 unit. May the Force be with you, Y/N.” Windu’s voice cut through the air.
“May the Force be with you,” you bowed. Turning to leave, you shot a friendly wink to Hol, reassuring him that you will succeed. As you exited the Temple and made your way to the hanger bay, you heard footsteps follow you.
Anakin.
You’d recognise those foot falls anywhere. Turning to face him, you shot him a grin. “Have you come to see me off?”
He sighed, shaking his head with a smile. “Of course I have. Be careful out there, it could be dangerous. I don’t like that you’re going alone.” He rubbed the back of his neck.
“I appreciate your concern, Ani, but I’ll be fine! You and I trained together, and I remember beating you more times than I can count. You have nothing to worry about.” You rested your hand on his shoulder as you stood beside your starship, the R6 unit already in the front.
“I know, it’s just,” he sighed, “I don’t want you to get hurt.”
You smiled slightly, heart beating fast as you tried to regulate how you felt about Anakin so he didn’t pick up on it. “I’ll be okay, I promise.” The R6 unit beeped. You sighed. “I have to go, I’ll see you soon, yeah?”
Anakin nodded, moving out of the way so you could enter your ship. “I’ll see you soon, Y/N.” He watched with slight sadness in his heart as your ship shot out of the hanger. He had a bad feeling about this.
Turns out Anakin’s concern was well placed. Your mission had gone south, and fast. The Separatists you were trailing for days had spotted you, and sent their droid army on your trail. The number of droids they had sent was usually never a problem for someone with your skill set, but Grievous was amongst them. He was going to provide a bit more of a challenge then you were able to take on.
Taking down battle droids from all directions had begun to tire you out, regardless of how easy it was to kill them. They seemed to come in endless waves.
Finally, the last wave had begun to descend upon you. Swinging your lightsaber, you decapitated  quite the number, slicing others in half. The ones that weren’t damaged by your saber, you pushed them off the edge of the bridge you were on, attempting to get back to your ship. You needed to get out of there.
As the last one fell, you looked around. The mist made it hard to see, but you couldn’t hear the loud clanking of metal feet against the surface beneath your feet. Checking one last time, you turned and started sprinting towards the starship you had arrived in.
You stopped in your tracks, seeing a certain pair of yellow eyes stare back at you. Grievous’ hulking body stood between you and your escape.
“You cannot escape, Jedi.” He spat the last word like it was poison in his mouth. “You are alone. I will kill you, and you will become nothing but another relic to add to my ever growing collection.”
You scowled at him, igniting your lightsaber once more. The light illuminated the mist around the two of you.
“Tell me, Jedi. Are you afraid to die?”
Your eyes narrowed. Now or never.
The giant cyborg sprinted towards you. You could feel the bridge beneath you shake with every foot he landed on the ground. His arms folded outward, and with them his four lightsabers ignited. The blue and green hues spun like rotors in an attempt to distract you as he charged closer. You leapt to the side as he slashed at you with three sabers, one still spinning. You brought your saber up to meet his, instantly feeling the heat eminate from the weapons near your face.
He brought his free weapon down to slash at you from the side, hoping to sever you in half. Pushing off the ground, you flipped backwards and landed in a crouch with your saber in front of your body protectively.
“You’re weak, Jedi. You will not make it off this planet alive.” The coughing after he finished his taunt would have concerned you, had you actually cared about him. “You will see death before you see your precious Order once more.”
You started running towards him, your legs pumping to carry you as fast as they could. There was no way around him. You were going to have to jump. Forcing yourself to run even harder, you pushed off the ground and launched yourself over the large droid.
While you were in the air, you brought your saber up just as he did. You sliced up his back plate enough for him to stumble. A searing pain tore through your side as a blue lightsaber stabbed through it. You landed in a painful roll, a silent scream tearing from your mouth. You looked back and saw him prepare to rush you again. Turning to face your starship, you grabbed your side and started moving as fast as you could. You were only a few meters away when the sound of Grievous catching up rang in your ears. Using your last bit of strength, you used the Force to propel you painfully into the pilots seat. The hatch closed and the R6 unit got the craft into the air, the sound of Grievous shouting and cackling falling behind as you left the planet surface.
“Hey, R6?”
The little droid beeped in response.
“Patch me through to the Council, I have a message for them.” Another beep.
The hologram pad in front of you buzzed to life with the image of Mace Windu and Obi-Wan.
“Y/N? Is everything alright?” Obi-Wan’s voice was soothing.
You chuckled, and winced as your wound bled more. “I’m on my way home, but I was hit. There were too many, and Grievous was there.”
The two men noticed your discomfort, as did the rest of the Council present.
“Are you alright, Y/N?” Anakin rushed into view. The worry on his face would have been heartwarming had you had enough blood in your system to feel anything other than slightly cold.
“Not really, he got me good. R6 is flying us home now, as fast as we can. As soon as we’re able to, we’ll go into hyperdrive.”
A wheezing breath forced its way out of your lungs. You were getting worse a lot quicker than Anakin liked. His heart clenched in his chest, seeing you like this. His eyes widened as you pulled your hand away from your wound. Even through the hologram he could see the amount of blood on your hand, and still pouring from your side. You never should have been sent on this mission alone.
“Ani?” You were starting to feel a little colder. There was a chance you weren’t going to make it, and you knew it. The lightsaber had done a lot of damage, and you were losing blood.
“Yeah?” His voice cracked. The rest of the Council members looked on in sadness at the interaction between the two of you. They knew how much you meant to each other.
“I’ll be okay, yeah? Please tell me I’m going to be okay,” you spoke. The words were hard to force past the tears and lump in your throat.
A tear dribbled down Anakin’s cheek. “Yeah, Buttercup. You’ll be okay.”
Buttercup. You hadn’t heard that since you were both Padawan. A smile crept onto your face.
“Thank you, Ani.” You looked over to the screen on the side. “We’re about to enter hyperspace, I’ll see you on the other si-”
Your hologram disappeared when you sped off, R6 no longer able to keep the connection going. Anakin yelled out in protest as your weakening figure faded from the hologram pad. Obi-Wan walked over to place a hand on Anakin’s shoulder.
“I’m sorry, Anakin. I’m sure she’ll make it here in one piece.”
Anakin sighed. His fists clenched. “Thank you, Master. I’m going to wait for her in the hangar.”
Only two hours later did R6 land your ship in the middle of the hangar. Anakin and a few other people ran over. Anakin waved his hand and the hatch flew off, landing with a thunk on the ground. Inside, you were laying in the pilot seat, motionless. The only way Anakin could tell you were alive or not was through the very slight rise and fall of your chest as you shuddered through shallow breaths, and the faint presence the Force had around you. He rushed over and climbed up the starship to get to the pilots seat. His hands found their way under your shoulders and he hauled you out. “Help me! Get a medical droid!”
Not a second later did three medical droids arrive, carrying a stretcher between two of them. Anakin handed you over to them, watching as your lifeless body was placed on the stretcher. His heart felt like it was caving in on itself, seeing the condition you were in. As the droids started wheeling you away, Anakin was quick to follow. Wheeling you closer and closer to the medical wing, Anakin ran to keep pace the whole way. The droids asked him to wait outside until you were in a more stable condition.
Waiting felt like an eternity for Anakin, so as soon as he saw a droid make their way towards where he was pacing, he stopped immediately and met them halfway, as well as Obi-Wan who had joined him an hour earlier, worried for his former Padawan.
“Is she okay? Can I see her? What’s happened?” The words fell from his mouth before he would stop them. Obi-Wan’s hand came up to rest on Anakin’s shoulder, calming him slightly.
The tuned voice of the medical droid spoke, “She’s stable. We applied some bacta spray and dressed her wound. She has been asking for you, Master Skywalker.” The droid bowed and wheeled its way back into the medical unit.
Anakin turned to face Obi-Wan. “Master, I-” He cut himself off.
Obi-Wan smiled. “Go,” he said softly.
Nodding, Anakin turned and started running to see you. He didn’t have to ask for directions, he could sense you. Your Force signature was much stronger than it was just hours ago. As he rounded the corner, he moved faster seeing the door to your room. He stopped himself just before he barrelled through the door. Anakin sighed, and shook out his nerves.
He walked through the door.
Inside, you laid on the bed provided. A bandage poked out from underneath your hospital gown, and a dull ache resided in the space just under your ribs. Seeing Anakin, the ache was pushed to the back of your mind.
“Ani,” you breathed.
“Hey, Buttercup.” A teary smile. Anakin walked over to the side of your bed and sat next to your blanket covered legs. “How are you feeling?”
“Much better now that you’re here,” you stared at him. Realising what you had said, you blushed and looked away. That wasn’t supposed to come out.
Anakin smiled so warmly you felt it in your bones. “I’m glad you’re okay, Y/N.” HIs hand reached forward to hold onto yours, your fingers lacing together. “I don’t know what I would do without you.”
There was a small beat of silence between the two of you.
“Anakin, I-”
“Y/N, I need to-”
You both laughed. “You first,” you encouraged him.
He grinned again. “Thank you.” Anakin’s grip on your hand tightened slightly. “Y/N, I think…”
You looked at him supportively.
“I think I love you. I know it goes against the Code, and that as Jedi we can’t have attachments, but I can’t help the way I feel about you-”
“Ani,”
“-and I know you probably don’t feel the same way as I do, and that’s okay-”
“Anakin,”
“-but I just wanted you to know because I don’t think I could hide it from you any longer, and-”
“Anakin!” you laughed. “Let me speak,”
He looked shown sheepishly.
“I love you too, Ani.”
The words registered right away. Anakin’s eyes rose to meet yours, and a beautiful wonder filled them. It was like he was seeing you for the first time. Seeing that small scar above your eyebrow from when you ran into a door frame when he chased you after training, the small pock mark on your cheek from acne that used to make you so insecure, but you didn’t realise how much he loved it because it was you. It was all you. And you’re so beautiful. Then and now. He was drinking you in like a man who spent the last week roaming a desert in search for sweet sweet water.
“We’ll have to hide it from everyone,” you spoke softly. “But I don’t mind, as long as I’m with you.”
Anakin leant forward and laid his lips gently over yours. They were soft, gentle. Your lips met with his, interlocking so serenely. A hand raised to cradle your cheek and softly stroke your jaw. This man was melting your heart and he wasn’t even trying.
The two of you broke apart as you heard running footsteps approach. As Anakin stood, Hol came bounding around the corner.
“Master Y/N!” The young boy’s excitement was radiating off him. “I’m so glad you’re okay. I saw your message, and I was so worried!” he cried as he wrapped his arms around you, his eyes becoming glassier than normal.
“Hol,” you laughed. “It’s so good to see you, young one.”
As you pressed a small kiss onto the top of his head, three other people entered the room. Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Windu. Obi-Wan looked knowingly between you and Anakin, causing the two of you to blush and glance at each other slightly.
Obi-Wan was someone you could trust to keep your secret.
Anakin kept looking at you as you interacted with the three Masters and the Padawan. It was going to be a tough secret to hide, but in his eyes, you were more than worth it.

~~~
It was another one of those rare mornings where he woke up before you.
You were surprised that you were able to get to sleep at all the night prior.
Today was the day.
Today, you and your lover were to face him.
The Emperor.
You felt nervous, yet calm at the same time as you got up and dressed that morning. Watching yourself change in the full-length mirror, your mind was able to wander in the silence between you and Vee.
You believed what you told him before. You believed that there wasn’t anything the two of you couldn’t do while together. You believed that with all your heart. But, it didn’t negate the fact that the Emperor was a powerful man, and who knows how powerful he is now. Yes, your husband is a powerful man himself, but he hadn’t fought in years. Alongside this, he was still weakened from his first encounter with the Emperor, all those years ago on Endor.
Endor…
Stripping your shirt off of your torso, your eyes were met with the circular scar that freshly adorned your stomach. Your lips tightening into a line, you slowly and gingerly traced your fingers over the disturbed flesh, ignoring how cold you were in just your pants, belt, boots, and bra.
You remembered back to when you didn’t have that scar. Coming to terms that it was now a permanent part of your body was… bittersweet.
You got it for a good cause. You got to see your grandson…
You just wished it went differently.
Sensing your emotions, Vee turned to you from across the room. Finishing up clipping his saber to his belt, he made his way over to you. Watching him in the mirror, a sad smile formed itself on your face as you watched his wrap his strong arms around your waist, his chest pressed against your back and his armored head rested on your shoulder. Instinctively, you rested your smaller arms upon his, tracing circles on the leather with your fingertips.
Letting out a sigh through your nose, your voice came soon after. It was soft, small, just enough for him to hear.
You sounded… tired.
“Is it bad…” you asked, “That I’m not mad at him for it?”
You lifted up one of your arms to touch your scar again. Vader noticed in the mirror how your sad smile had not faltered, a somewhat haunted look in your eyes.
He disliked it.
He never wanted for you to have more trauma.
Was trauma the right word? He didn’t know.
No matter what, he didn't like it.
He only wanted the best for you.
Yet, he understood what you were trying to say.
“No, darling.” He responded to you, softly pressing the mouthpiece of his mask to your hair as his version of a kiss, “Not at all.”
Another smile pressed itself into your face. It was still sad, yet happier than before.
“I hope we get a chance to start over.” you said, “After all of this is done. I… I really want to meet him. Actually meet him.”
Vader nuzzled the cheek of his mask against your shoulder.
“We will, darling. I have no doubts that he will return.”
Letting out a shallow breath through your nose, you turned your head to press a soft kiss against his mask.
“You always know what to say, Vee.”
“Of course, my dear. I have known you for many years.”
You let out a chuckle, “I love you, Anakin Skywalker, you dork.”
He let out a satisfied rumble, “And I love you far more than words, (F/N) (L/N).”
~~~
The air around the resistance base was tense, yet determined.
Stepping out of your quarters into the outside, you were greeted with the sight of many rebels running back and forth frantically. A large number of them were saying their goodbyes and good lucks to one another, while the rest were packing their things and prepping their ships. You and your love were to go with Rey on the falcon, but pushing through and maneuvering through the rebels made the two of you late.
When you eventually got there, you were greeted with the sight of Finn and Poe helping to load the Falcon whilst Rey was talking with Leia. From the distance you were at, you weren’t able to make out what they were saying. What you could make out, however, was Leia giving over her lightsaber to Rey.
A heartwarming sight, really. It almost made you feel bad about intruding on the conversation.
Hand-in-hand with Vee, you walked up to the two women, a small yet somewhat pained smile on your face.
“Looks like we have a new Jedi.” you said to the brunette young woman, making her smile.
“Definitely.” Leia chimed in, “She’s earned it.”
You turned to your daughter-in-law, “Are you sure you can’t come with us? We’ll really miss you out there…”
“I can’t.” she responded, “I have to make sure everyone stays on course. Besides, I’m too old for that kinda stuff anymore.”
You let out a chuckle, hugging on to Vee’s arm, “You’re old? How do you think that makes us feel?”
With a rumble from your love and a chuckle from Leia, your daughter-in-law turned to her father, a small smile adorning her face. Your love tilted his head down to meet her gaze. Despite him having no outward control of his facial movements, you were able to read him like a damn book.
He was worried, scared even.
He didn’t want this to be the last time he saw his only remaining child.
Leia was able to pick up on it too.
“Dad, it’s okay.” she said, “I’ll see you later tonight.”
You watched as your love’s back stiffened at her words. Letting go of your hand, Vader stepped closer to his daughter, slowly and carefully resting his gloved hands on her shoulders as he addressed her.
“How are you so certain, daughter?”
Leia shrugged, despite the weight on her shoulders, “I just know.”
Left speechless, Vader pulled his daughter in for a hug, one which she reciprocated happily.
You couldn’t stop the smile that formed on your face.
You hoped that Leia was right.
~~~
The trip to the emperor was largely silent, except for the dull whirr of ship engines in the background.
You recently learned that the planet you were going to was far out in the outer rim; nothing you had ever heard before. Exegol was what it was called. Sounds fun.
Your love’s red saber clipped to your belt, you stood with your arms crossed across your chest, looking out the window side-by side with your lover. The two of you watched in silence as blue streaks of hyperdrive filled the window.
No words were needed between the two of you.
The thick haze of anticipation in the air was enough.
~~~
When the falcon eventually fell out of hyperdrive, you were up in the cockpit of the falcon.
The sight before you left a pit in your stomach.
Littering the dull, grey sky were a vast plethora of x-wings on one side, and all the more Star Destroyers on the other. Streaks of lightning rolled across the sky in ribbons, illuminating the grey of the heavens in flashes of blue. On the ground was almost completely nothing, except for one large, completely black rectangle below.
Your eyes were wide, your hands clammy. You had never seen so many damn Star Destroyers in your life, and you fucking worked for the empire.
It was unbelievable.
Almost immediately, you saw the rebel x-wings begin their attack, streaks of their blasters littering the expanse of the sky.
“Holy shit.” Poe breathed out under his breath, looking up at the sky above.
“You can say that again…” you mumbled back, your eyes still locked on the sight above you.
From the other chair of the falcon, Rey shifted her gaze from the sky above to the controls before her, her lips parting as her dark eyes went wide. Noticing her movements, you shifted your gaze to her.
“What is it?” you asked, your tone louder than before so that she could hear you.
“I-It’s…” she began, darting her tongue across her lips, “It’s him. He knows we’re here already…”
“Well we shouldn’t keep him waiting then.” you responded, quickly turning on your heel and exiting the cockpit of the Falcon. Your boots clanking down the hallway, you eventually were inside the main room of the Falcon, your eyes being greeted with your lover still staring out the window from before.
“Vee.” you called out to him, tightening up your boots and your gloves, “It’s time to go. He knows we’re here.”
Your love stared out the window for a moment longer in silence, assuming no special position as he eventually responded to you.
“I am aware, darling.” he said plainly, his voice as deep as ever.
Making sure his old red saber was clipped to your belt, you watched him as he slowly turned around to face you, his mask pointed right at your face.
A small smile adorned your face, your hand finding a resting position on your hip.
“Are you ready?” You asked him.
It took him a moment to respond.
“No.”
You let out a soft, quick laugh.
“Good. I’m not either.”
~~~
Poe had lowered the falcon so that you, Vee, and Rey could be dropped off at the front door of the fortress. Sabers in hand, the three of you steadily approached the door.
You couldn't help but watch the lightning above. It made you veer of course a couple of times, but your love was quick to call out your name, making you focus again.
The land of Exegol was desolate, grey even. There was absolutely nothing in sight, apart from the large, black box a few hundred feet away from the trio of you. You had thought this originally, but, as you drew nearer to the fortress, you were proven wrong.
There, not too far from the door, was one long, pointed TIE fighter.
Ben’s TIE fighter.
Realization washing over the three of you, you and Vader watched as Rey ran ahead into the fortress, calling out Ben’s name in hopes that he would hear. Not too long after, you listened as she went silent, only the sound of lightning and ship engines filling the air.
A sense of worry coming over you, you gave a quick look to Vader before rushing into the fortress yourself, your boots kicking up dust with the stroke of your run.
Expecting to see the worst from within, your eyes went soft as a surprising sight filled your vision. Your chest heaving up and down with your heavy breaths, your run skirted to a stop, your boots digging in the ground below.
There, upon the floor only a handful of feet away from you, was him.
Your grandson.
He had longsince abandoned his normal robes, instead wearing a simple pair of pants and shorts, his hair a mess as he held a blaster. He was knelt down, and holding onto Rey in a tight hug, one of which she seemed to be happily reciprocating. Ben’s face was buried in her shoulder, but it didn’t take him long to lift up his head again. As he did so, you watched as his expression changed as he saw your form.
Was it a dream? A vision?
He didn’t know.
He was sure he…
He swallowed the forming lump in his throat before speaking.
“G… Grandmother.” he said softly, making Rey turn in his grasp to face you as well.
Hearing that word to him sounded so… foreign. It made your breathing return to normal as you processed the word, your head tilting slightly to the side.
You should hate him.
You should smack him for what he did, scold him at least.
Were you going to?
No.
You weren’t.
You didn’t hate him.
You weren’t angry.
Even as you felt a buzz upon your scar.
Even as his words echoed in your mind.
Even as you remembered the cold feeling of the water.
Putting all those unpleasant memories aside, you let yourself be faced with the truth.
Your grandson was finally here.
You felt a smile form on your face, your arms crossing across your chest.
“Took you long enough, Ben.” you said to him, a hint of playfulness in your tone.
You watched as Ben’s lips parted at your words, and continued to watch as he searched for the right words to say.
Seeing the gears turn in his head, you knew what he meant before he even said it.
“Grandmother, I…” he eventually began, finding it hard to look at you, “I… I’m so, so sorry. Please… I hope you can forgive me.”
As much as you tried to fight against it, a chuckle escaped your lips.
“I know, Ben. I know.”
As if on cue, your love made his way to your side again, his cape fluttering behind him as his respirator filled the room.
Your smile broadened, your eyes shooting up a quick glance up to your love before returning to Ben.
“I don’t think I’m the most pissed off one about it.” you said to your grandson, your tone playful but sincere.
Giving you one last look, Ben shifted his gaze over to your side, swallowing before addressing your love.
“Gr-Grandfather, I…” he began, struggling again to find the right words, “I...I don’t-”
Vader stopped Ben’s ramblings before he could continue.
“Did you apologize to your grandmother, Ben?” he asked, his tone deathly serious.
Your grandson nodded his head quickly, quicker than you’ve ever seen anyone do so before.
“Good.” your love continued, placing his large hands on his belt, “I expect you to treat her with respect from now on.”
“Right,” Rey cut in, helping Ben stand up as she did so herself, “Now that we have one more, me and Ben will make a distraction for the Emperor. Once he’s off guard, the two of you will go in for the kill. Is that a plan?”
“Sounds like a plan to me.” you responded, looking up to the former sith lord by your side, “If it sounds like one to you, love.”
He gave you a nod in response.
~~~
The journey through the fortress was nerve-wracking to say the least.
After stepping over the bodies of what was now the former Knights of Ren (slain by your grandson), the four of you stepped deeper into the fortress. You were surprised that no one else jumped out of the dark to try and kill the four of you, yet also scared at the same time. Did this mean that no one else but the Emperor was here? Most likely.
Perhaps that was enough.
With one last ascension into the fortress, the four of you were met with the sight of what looked to be a doorway, except the doors were pulled back in seeming anticipation. Beyond the doors, you were just able to make out the sight of what looked to be a large throne, accompanied by the occasional streak of lightning.
Menacing.
Rey and Ben turned around to you and your love, the former being the one to speak.
“Right then,” she said, taking her saber off of her belt and gripping it tightly, “We’ll go in first. You two wait out here, and come in when it’s right.”
You gave her a nod, “Be careful, you two.”
“The force shall be with you, young Jedi.” your love chimed in, addressing both Rey and Ben.
With one last look, the younger couple headed into the throne room before them, a low rumble resounding off of the walls. Watching them step into the throne room, they soon disappeared as they got far enough away, making you cross your arms over your chest. After a moment of silence, you turned up your head to Vee.
“How long do you think they’ll last?” you asked him, your eyes still fixated on the sight before you.
Suddenly, and without warning, your eyes picked up on quite the peculiar sight. Heading towards you at a highly rapid pace was a large, tall figure, seemingly holding something in it's arms. As it got closer, you were able to make out that it was Ben, holding a limp, somewhat lifeless Rey in his arms. Realizing this, you let out a gasp, running forward to meet your grandson halfway.
“Not long.” Vader responded from behind you.
“Ben!” you exclaimed, ignoring your lover’s comment, “What happened in there?!”
“She-She tried her best,” he said, concern heavy in his voice as he lowered the girl to lay on the ground, “But it was too much. I tried helping her, but-”
“It is quite alright, son.” Vader rumbled out, stepping up close to his grandson and resting a hand on his shoulder, “Stay here and make sure she is well. We shall take it from here.”
After the initial shock of his grandfather touching him, Ben nodded his head in agreement, turning his attention back to Rey.
Taking his hand off of Ben’s shoulder, your love turned to you, his armored head tilted slightly to the side.
“Shall we, darling?” he asked.
You felt a tightness in your chest in place of what should have been your answer. You did want to go. You did want to be there for your love, like you promised you would be. But, after seeing how quickly Rey and Ben were taken out…
It scared you. Terrified you, even.
They both were much stronger than you… Hell, you were definitely the weakest one there…
You feared for you life.
You wanted to run and hide, but instead, you closed your eyes and took a deep breath.
You repeated in your head what you believed.
There is nothing we can’t do, when the two of us are together.
Opening your eyes again to see your lover, you gave him a firm nod in affirmation.
“Let’s go kick some ass, love.” you said, a determined smile adorning your face.
Assuming a position next to you, Vader began to walk into the throne room of the fortress, picking up your pace to match his own. Walking next to him, you remarked about how calm he seemed, while you were there nearly shitting your pants. You wanted to ask him about it, but figured it was too late.
It was game time now.
Waking deeper and deeper into the room, you were met with the sight of what you had suspected before: a large, spiky, black throne, surrounded by utter darkness.
You felt a twinge of fear crawl through you. It made you unclip the saber off of your belt and ignite it, a glow of red illuminating your side with a low humm.
Stopping a couple hundred feet away from the throne, you felt your hands start to become sweaty, making you wipe off the moisture on your pants and then regrip your saber.
Seeing your actions from the corner of his masked eye and sensing your fear, your love pointed his mask down to you, the sound of his respirator filling your ears.
“Darling.” he spoke out, making you shoot your gaze up to him.
“It is alright. Stay close to me, you shall be safe.” he continued.
His words giving you a sense of comfort, you allowed yourself to give him a smile, your eyes shining with love and pride.
You felt…
You…
...
You couldn’t breathe.
Your eyes widening in fear and your smile quickly fading, you tried again and again to take a breath, but to no avail.
Vader was quick to notice this.
“Darling?” he questioned, a layer of concern lacing his voice.
Your hand shooting up to your throat, you tried again and again to gasp in a breath, only to be met with nothing. Your body starting to grow weak and stiff, you shot your other hand up to your throat, your saber dropping to the ground and unigniting. Your legs now too weak to keep you standing, you fell to the ashy ground with a thud, still trying to take in a breath as Vader knelt next to you.
“Darling,” he echoed, panic starting to set in between the two of you, “Breathe, darling.”
A voice came out from behind the shadows as you continued to wheeze and sputter.
“How unfortunate.”
Vader recognized the voice instantly. It took you a moment to realize.
It was him.
Stepping out of the shadows, in such evil glory, was him.
The Emperor.
He looked just the same as Vader remembered.
“My old apprentice…” the emperor croaked out, his voice seeming to echo off of the walls, “You had no need to lie to her. You knew she was to die here, yet you let her come anyhow.”
Vader stood up from his kneeling position, turning to face his former master with clenched fists.
Your lover’s voice was far deeper than you had ever heard before.
He unclipped his saber from his belt, igniting it and washing him in a blue light.
“Let her go.”
The Emperor simply laughed, you sputtering on the ground all the while.
“As you wish.” he eventually said. A moment after, you felt a rush of cool, refreshing air enter your lungs, making you cough and sputter on the ground as you held onto your throat.
You wanted to stand up again, but your muscles felt so weak.
It made you want to cry. Not even ten minutes, and you were already beat.
You refused to cry.
You had to stay strong. You would stay strong.
As you continued to breathe and cough on the ground, hoping to regain your strength, the Emperor spoke again, his old frame making it's way to be seated upon the throne.
“I am disappointed in you, Lord Vader.” the emperor said, “You have allowed this girl to make you forget your purpose, your destiny as my successor.”
Vader clenched his grip upon his saber, “No. (F/N) allowed me to see the truth. That is something that you never told me.”
The emperor sneered, “I saw your future. You were to rule the galaxy, yet you gave it all up for such trivial matters. You could be so much stronger without her in the way. Just look at who you became without Padme Amidala.”
There was that name again.
Padme Amidala.
You did know about her, and you knew that she came before you.
You shook the bad thoughts out of your head.
No.
Now was not the time for them.
You and him were in love, despite the past.
Vader tilted his head to the side, “You may have taken her from me, but I shall not allow you to take (F/N) as well.”
You love now gripping his saber with both of his hands.
“It is time for me to finish what I started.”
The emperor let out another sneer, raising up his hands.
“And it is time for you to die.”
Raising up your head, you saw a blue glow start to emit out of the Emperor’s fingertips.
You knew what was going to come.
Acting out of instinct, you quickly picked up your saber t, screaming out a NO as you ignited it. As you ran over to your love, you watched as streaks of lightning came from the emperor’s fingertips, dangerously close to making contact with you lover. Igniting your saber, you crossed the blade over your body, putting a shield of you before Vee as your crimson saber absorbed the lighting.
The force of the lightning pushed you back, the toes of your boots leaving lines in the ground. Your arms straining against the force, you bared your teeth with the sheer strength it took to keep the lighting off of your lover, your heart beating a mile a minute.
Realizing this, the Emperor formed another sneer on his face. Summoning up all the power in him, he sent out a great, powerful pulse of lightning. Once it made contact with your saber, a large blast of blue light filled your vision, sending both you and your love flying backwards with the sheer force of it.
Landing on the ground a few dozen feet away with a loud thud and hearing your saber unignite, you coughed again as the air was knocked out of you. A wave of pain washing over your back, you found it hard to stand up again.
Rolling over onto your side, you saw your love on the ground as well, not moving all the much.
Never in your life had you felt so powerless.
You tried your best to protect your love, and look where he is now.
Who were you to think you could pull off something so daring?
You barely had saber training before.
You rolled back onto your back, staring up at the sky above you.
You hadn’t noticed that there was no roof to this place until then.
Looking up at the grey sky above, you saw the rebels fighting for their lives in their ships. You saw that there were a few ships you didn’t recognize too.
The signal must have worked.
Other people did come.
You felt a sinking feeling inside of you.
Those poor souls…
They didn’t know it was all in vain now.
You had failed.
Closing your eyes, you were ready to die. You were ready to slip into a sleep you would never wake up from.
A voice coming from seemingly nowhere kept you from it.
“Oh dear,” the voice said, “This is quite the mess, if I do say so myself.”
You squinted open your eyes.
You recognized that voice, from your hospital room.
Opening your eyes fully, you noticed now the ships above were moving much, much more slowly, as if time were slowed just for you.
You were perplexed.
You sat up as best you could, finding that it took a long while to do.
You couldn’t believe your eyes.
There, standing before you, was three other people. One man and two women.
Even if you had never met them before, you knew exactly who they were.
You had heard countless stories about them.
The man: Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The togruta: Ahsoka Tano.
The human woman: Padme Amidala.
All three of them were looking directly at you as you sat on the ground. You would have been embarrassed about your disheveled appearance if it weren’t for how amazed you were.
Darting your gaze between the three ghosts, you found it hard to speak.
“Wh-What… I… I don’t..” you were able to croak out eventually.
“It’s nice to meet you too, (F/N).” Ahsoka said with a small smile, cutting you off of your ramblings.
You swallowed, “Why… Why are you all here?”
“We came for a visit.” Obi-Wan said, his hand rested on his bearded chin, “It seems like you’re in quite the mess, Miss (F/N).”
Your gaze dropped down briefly, “Yeah, but… shouldn’t you be visiting him instead? You know him better than I know you…”
“That may be so,” Obi-Wan responded, “But I’m afraid Shmi wanted some time alone with her son.”
You ears perked up at that name.
Shmi Skywalker…
His mom.
You wondered what she was saying to him.
Ahsoka stepped forward and knelt down next to you, placing her glowing blue hand on your shoulder, “(F/N), you can’t give up now. The entire galaxy is depending on you.”
You stared into her eyes for a moment before frowning.
She was right, but…
“I...I can’t.” you breathed out, a lump forming in your throat, “I’m too damn weak to do anything. I just tried to protect him, but look where we are now. Even if he tries alone, he can’t withstand the lightning. It’s a lost cause…”
“Oh, come now.” Obi-Wan chimed in, “You know that isn’t true. Do you remember what you told him? What you believe?”
You picked up your gaze to look at the Jedi Master.
“There’s nothing we can’t do,” you said, “when the two of us are together.”
“Truer words have never been spoken, (F/N).” the senator from Naboo said to you, a smile on her face, “We’ve all seen what you have accomplished with him. This is what it has all led up to.”
You moved your gaze over to Padme, a certain look entering your eyes, “Miss Amidala, I… I hope you’re no-”
She cut you off with a giggle, “I’m not mad with you, (F/N). I’m glad he found you.”
Staring at her a moment longer, you let your gaze drop to the floor again, another frown on your face.
“How?” you asked, “How in the galaxy am I supposed to do this?”
“Together.” Ahsoka said to you, standing back up again, “You do it together.”
You felt the ground shake below you. Looking up to the ships above, you noticed how they were slowly starting to regain their normal speed.
“It seems we’re running out of time.” Obi-Wan commented after a moment, noticing the shift in time himself.
“What?” you asked, “N-No, wait, I-”
“We can’t keep you here forever, (F/N).” Obi-Wan said to you, cutting you off from rambling, “You have to face what is ahead. You know what to do from here.”
“Thousands of generations now live inside the two of you,” Ahsoka said, “And they’re all counting on you.”
Your eyes darting between the three of them, you were at a loss of what to say.
Feeling another rumble, Obi-Wan spoke again, “It seems our time is up. Take care, (F/N), and may the force be with you. I am glad we got to meet.”
Watching as the three of them started to turn and walk away, you held out your hand to them.
“W-Wait!” you called out, causing them to pause, turn, and look at you.
“How can… how can I thank you?”
The three of them exchanged a few looks before responding.
Padme was the one to break the silence, a small smile on her face.
“Love him for us.” she said, “Because our time, it was cut short.”
And with that, they were gone.
~~~
Opening your eyes with a gasp, you felt the surface of the ground beneath you. Realizing that you were still lying down, you turned on your side. Sure enough, you love was still there, and still not moving all the much.
Looking over to the Emperor, you saw that he was sending many, many streaks of lightning up into the sky. Shifting your gaze to the sky, you noticed how the rebel ships were being fried and electrocuted, making their engines and guns fail.
No.
Quickly looking back to the ground, you found your saber again and scooped it into your grasp. Making sure that it was secure, you slowly crawled over to your love as best you could, your muscles aching and screaming in protest. Once close enough to him, you leaned over him with your free hand on his chest, gently shaking him as you looked into the eyes of his mask.
“Vee.” you croaked out, your breath coming out him pants, “V-Vee, wake up. Come on, we gotta go. H-He’s still going. We gotta stop him. We…”
You trailed off was you watched him stir, the breaths of his respirator coming out in wheezes.
“(F/N)...” he rasped out, the eyes of his mask pointed at you.
“Yes, love, it’s me.” you said to him, shaking him some more, “Come on, we gotta get up, we gotta-”
“I saw her.” he rumbled out to you, “Darling, I saw...I saw my…”
“I know, love, I know. I saw your friends, love.” you said to him, “I saw them. They told me… told me we have to keep going, Ani. We have to finish the job. For them, for Luke and Leia. We have to.”
“Darling, I know… I know...but-”
“No.” you said to him, your tone firm, “No, love, no buts. Do you remember what I said to you? Do you remember?”
“There is nothing…” he begun.
“The two of us can’t do…” you continued.
“When we are together.” he finished.
You nodded your head quickly, “Do you still believe me, dear? When I say that?”
“Yes, darling, I… I do.”
“Then come, Ani. We have to stop him. We can go home afterwards, knowing that no one will ever be afraid again.”
With that, you shifted yourself off of your love so that he could stand up.
Together, you helped each other stand again.
Together, you dusted each other off.
Together, you regripped your sabers.
Together, you ignited them.
Together, you stepped forward again, making the emperor cease his lightning brigade.
“No.” he said, “You were supposed to die.”
“Never.” you hissed out, positioning your saber in a defensive stance, “Not while you’re still alive.”
Another scowl appeared on the emperor’s ugly face.
“So be it.”
Lifting up his hands again, the Emperor was quick to shoot out another wave of lightning to you and Vader. Reacting quickly, you crossed your saber behind your love’s, deflecting all the lightning as flashes of blue, red, and purple washed over the pair of you.
You could feel the energy on your skin.
You should hear both you and Vader’s heartbeat beating in time.
This was the moment.
The moment you were destined to do together.
The moment the force kept the two of you alive for.
You were not going to let it go to waste.
Looking over your shoulder to your love, you beckoned him to look at you with your eyes. Once he did so, the two of you shared a long, silent look between the two of you.
Nothing was said.
Nothing needed to be.
All you gave each other was one, simple nod.
Returning your gazes back to the emperor, the two of you pushed your saber’s forward. As a result, the flurry of lightning was now directed back to it’s source, making it yell out in pain. Continuing the barrage, you and your love stood strong in your stances, watching as he  became more and more burnt and scarred.
The ultimate payback.
For years of torture.
Enslavement.
Fear.
Loss.
And darkness.
No more.
There would be no more.
In one last final act of strength, the emperor lifted up his head to the two of you, lightning still pouring out of his fingertips.
“You will never destroy me.” he croaked out, “I am all the sith.”
You took in a breath before speaking.
“And we…” you began.
“Are all the Jedi.” Ani finished.
With one last battle cry from you and and last push of your sabers, you and Vader shot back the remaining bits of lightning. With a loud cry, the Emperor was consumed in a large ball of blue light, and you watched as it built up it’s own tension then went away in a quick, loud flash and bang.
The release off al the built up tension made you fall to your knees, with your love following suit not too long after. Your sabers unigiting, you breathed heavily whilst staring at the ground for a good while.
Did you do it?
You were scared to look.
Your body acting on it’s own, you looked up to the throne.
Empty.
Was it true?
You looked up to the sky above.
The Star Destroyers and TIEs were dropping from the sky.
Could it be?
You sat back on your knees.
“Is he…” you breathed out, pausing so that you could pant softly, “Is he gone?”
You looked over to your love, on his knees next to you as he looked to the sky.
It took him a moment to respond.
“Yes, darling… He is.”
Your lover looked to you, watching as your lips parted.
You didn’t know what to say.
You felt a lump forming in your throat.
Instead of tamping it down, you allowed it to come.
You allowed it to contort your face to tears.
You allowed it to make your body fling into his, feeling his arms wrap around you and his mask buried in your shoulder.
You did it.
You did it, together.
Crying there, in the expanse of nothingness that surrounded the two of you, you were happy.
For the first time in decades…
The two of you were free.
Everyone was free.
Your words echoed in both of your heads.
There is absolutely nothing…
The two of us cannot do…
When we are…
Together.
All The Reassurance
A Shay Cormac x Reader One-Shot
Word Count: 1,824 Warnings: Explicit Language, Slightly Mature Themes
Author’s Note: This is the one fic I’ve actually managed to brain in the past few days, and I am super happy about it! Enjoy! -Thorne
“Where in God’s name is she!” His hiss could’ve been heard all the way down the street as he looked around for her. The man beside him resisted the urge to chuckle, opting for,
           “Relax, Master Kenway. She probably got caught up in a fight.” Haytham grunted, crossing his arms over his chest.
           “A barfight no less.” He looked at the other man. “Shay, did you see her before you left?” The other shook his head, matching Haytham’s stance, resting his back against the gate.
           “No sir. She was gone ‘fore I woke up this morning.” An eyebrow arched on the Grandmaster’s face.
           “I do believe that’s the first time you’ve ever been open about your relationship with her.” Shay shrugged, coffee eyes staring off down the street.
           “She told me you knew. I don’t see a reason to hide it anymore.” He cleared his throat, quietly inquiring, “Do you approve?” Haytham regarded the new templar carefully, asking,
           “Why should I?” Shay eyed him.
           “You two are close like siblings. As much as I’m asking for your professional approval, it’s also personal.”
           “Do people truly assume we act like siblings?” The Irishman snorted, countering,
           “I think it’s actually that people assume you’re in a relationship together.”
A Few Months Ago:
           He watched as she wrenched her saber free, grunting as she stumbled backwards. She stood straight, letting out a huff. “God, what I wouldn’t give for one mission where I don’t have to take out my weapons.” Wiping her brow, she looked over at him, flashing him a smile that made his heart hammer in his chest. “You okay?” For a moment, he didn’t respond, and the smile began to falter as she took a step towards him. “Shay? Are you injured?” Immediately, he shook his head, giving a rather unconvincing laugh.
           “No, I’m not injured. I’m fine.” She arched an eyebrow but sheathed her sword.
           “Alright. But if you aren’t, we really should get to a doctor.” He nodded, responding,
           “Really, I’m alright (Y/N). No wounds.” She cleared her throat, eyes directing to the sun setting across the water.
           “Well…since we’ve taken care of the gang here, why don’t we go and get a drink at the tavern? I could certainly use one.” Shay nodded almost too eagerly, holstering his pistols.
           “That sounds wonderful. A few pints would do us good.” (Y/N) chuckled and started walking, him following beside her.
           “A man after my own heart.” Her words gave him pause, and he wanted to ask, but couldn’t piece together the right questions. By the time he did, they’d already arrived at the tavern, (Y/N) holding the door for them. He frowned, raising a hand over her head to grip the door.
           “Ladies first.” She flashed him another heartwarming smile, quipping,
           “Such a gentleman.” He gave her a smirk of his own, countering,
           “Only for you lass.” (Y/N) gave a laugh that made him think of tinkling bells, and they moved to the bar, taking seats next to each other.
Pint after pint, they knocked them back, sharing stories and laughter, and for once since he’d started his journey with the templars, he felt at peace. (Y/N) hummed as she set her tankard down, wiping her mouth with the napkin the bartender had given her with her food. “Looking at you now, I can’t even begin to imagine you like that.” Shay chuckled, taking a sip from his beer.
           “Believe it or not I was rather a mess when I first started out in the assassins.” She huffed, grinning widely.
           “That I can believe, but messing up on a Leap of Faith and getting stuck on a church spire by your under…by your-” (Y/N) cut herself off she was laughing so hard, and as much as Shay enjoyed her laughter, he felt his cheeks warm.
           “Oh, laugh it up why don’t you.” She reached up, wiping tears from her eyes.
           “I will, thank you.” When she calmed, he asked,
           “Alright, I’ve told you an embarrassing story of mine. Tell me one of yours.” (Y/N) hummed softly, eyes diverting to the wooden bar as she thought back, then she smiled.
           “When Haytham and I first got over to the colonies, he went off with Lee and I started on gathering information on the city. I didn’t get very far because I found a litter of puppies and I dropped my ass in the dirt and played with them for a few hours until Haytham found me.” She brought a hand up to muffle her laughter. “God, you should’ve seen his face when he found me. I mean, it was no different from his normal face, but lemme tell you, I could see the exasperation in his eyes.” While she seemed to enjoy the recount, Shay felt his mood darken at the mention of their Grandmaster, especially from how happy she seemed when she talked about him. A hand rested on his thigh and his head shot up, wide eyed as he stared at her, her own face filled with concern. “Shay? Are you sure you’re feeling alright? You look unhappy.” He shook his head, clearing his throat as he replied,
           “No…just thinking…” (Y/N) nodded, seeming to understand, offering,
           “Are you thinking about George?” She squeezed his thigh. “I know he meant a lot to you…my own heart is heavy with his loss. He was a good templar, but an even better man.” Shay swallowed, gently removing her hand from his thigh to rest on the bar, but he didn’t let go, brushing his thumb over her armored knuckles.
           “He was a good man.” (Y/N) squeezed the fingers that were in hers.
           “And I’m sure he’s very proud of you Shay. Not just what you’ve done for the cause, but for what you’ve done for the people.” She looked around, seeing the happy patrons. “Shay, what you’ve done for New York and for the other cities?” She shook her head, admiring, “It’s nothing short of amazing.” (Y/N) bent down, catching his eyes as she assured, “You…are amazing. And a good man.” Before he knew what he was doing, his free hand had risen and cupped her cheek. He leaned forward and softly pressed his lips to hers. She didn’t pull away, raising her own hand to cover his. When they did pull away, she smiled at him and it sent his heart soaring, but it was short lived as he suddenly remembered something. He jerked away from her, apologizing,
           “I am so sorry.” (Y/N)’s face fell, and she seemed to recoil as well.
           “No, it’s-I’m sorry. I just thought-I thought we were-” Struggling to find the words, she forced out, “Affirming something here.” Shay sighed, reaching up to run a hand through is hair.
           “It’s not that I don’t want to, it’s just…Master Haytham.” (Y/N)’s cocked an eyebrow, questioning,
           “Haytham? What about him?” Before he could speak, she added, “I mean if you’re worried about him finding out about a relationship, it’s not that big a deal. I mean, it is, he’s our boss. Well, he’s your boss, not exactly mine, but he’s not going to bar us from seeing each other.” Shay pulled a confused look, his voice just as puzzled as he asked,
           “Wait, but aren’t you two-” He crossed two of his fingers together and said, “You know, together?” She put a finger to her chest.
           “Me and him?” He nodded and she made an exaggerated retching sound. “Oh god no! Ew! Gross! No!” Shay tipped his head down.
           “So, you two aren’t together.”
           “Absolutely not. We might seem like we are, but no, we’re not together.”
           “But…you’re so close?” (Y/N) nodded.
           “I’m the only person from Haytham’s past that knows all about his life. We’ve been close since we were kids.” She reached over, taking his hand again. “Obviously you like me, and I like you, so lemme clear this up. Haytham Kenway and I are not in a relationship, we’re just best friends.” Shay felt all the tension in his muscles fade, and he remarked,
           “You have no idea how reassuring that is.” (Y/N)’s face turned downright evil as she smirked,
           “It’ll be a lot more reassuring after we get back to the captain’s cabin.” Something shifted in the air and he growled,
           “You’re playing with fire lass.” She slid a sack of coins on the bar, rising from her seat, challenging,
           “I love fire.” Before he could respond, she took off for the door, listening as his chair scratched against the floor as he followed her.
Present:
           “And that’s pretty much what happened.” Haytham grunted, shifting his footing.
           “I could’ve done without learning what happened after the tavern visit.” Shay snorted, placing a hand on the hilt of his rapier.
           “Just figured you should know it all.” The Grandmaster glared at the hunter.
           “My god, you’re just like her.” Before he could respond, a voice sounded from beside them.
           “No! Go on! Go home! I don’t have anymore treats!” The two bent forward, eyes directing down the street to see (Y/N) being followed by a pack of dogs, all jumping around for her attention. The two let out sighs as she walked up to them and exclaimed, “I stop and feed one dog and this is what happens!” Shay reached over, scratching the chin of the kitten that had perched itself up on her shoulder.
           “He come along too?” (Y/N) hummed, scratching the kitten’s ears.
           “Little guy was all alone on the side of the street.”
           “And so you picked him up?” She looked at Haytham, pulling a pout at his exasperation.
           “But Haytham he was all alone!” Her friend turned away, stalking off down the street, but they could still hear him as he sighed,
           “Can’t take either of you anywhere.” (Y/N) giggled as he walked off and she glanced at Shay who was petting the dogs.
           “See, you get it darling.” He stood upright, meeting her gaze.
           “I do, but we really need to get going.” She pulled the kitten off her shoulder, pressing it to her cheek as she begged,
           “But Shay~”
           “No. We’re not keeping a cat.” (Y/N) took a step forward, shoving the kitten in his face, pulling the best pout she could, going as far to stick her bottom lip out.
           “But look how cute he is! He’s just a baby, Shay! He’ll get hurt if we leave him!” The Irishman looked between the kitten and his lover before sighing, but it turned into a groan as he conceded.
           “Alright! You can keep the cat!” She smiled evilly, moving past him.
           “Works every time.”
           “You’re a witch, you know that don’t you?” (Y/N) nodded happily.
           “Of course I do. How do you think I’ve gotten this far in life?” Shay chuckled, and when they’d caught up with Haytham, he asked,
           “So, what’s its name?” She snorted and quipped,
           “Haytham.” The two men simply shouted in unison, one in offense, the other in shock.
Cuando hiciste las votaciones para saber que fic volver a publicar me enteré que tenías varios trabajos que habías publicado previamente y decidiste borrar (ahora ya entiendo la reputación que te has ganado por aquí 🤣) Es muy loco porque cuando te conocí lo único que recuerdo que tenías publicado para esa fecha era WAHNO (esto todavía me duele 😪) y TW.
Mi pregunta es la siguiente, ¿TW fue uno de los primeros fics que publicaste? ¿O lo publicaste cuando ya eras conocida en este fandom? Otra cosa que me gustaría saber es si ¿Alguna imaginaste que TW tendría tanto éxito? Cuando estabas planeando tus ideas sobre la trama y empezaste a escribir, ¿Pensaste que tendría tanta gente detrás que se enamoraría de tu historia?
Y no te preocupes, puedes contestarme en Inglés sin problemas, yo entiendo y leo el idioma a la perfección pero no me siento muy segura cuando escribo o lo hablo 😅
Yeah, I really deserve the reputation I have for deleting stuff. 😅 The Wolf wasn’t one of the first I published though, it was maybe... The fifth? I’m not sure. I had WAHNOLA, Pendulum, About a Girl, which was a very short-lived one, and maybe the Android AU when I published The Wolf. But I wasn’t well known in fandom at all (am I well known now? 🤣 I honestly don’t think I am lol), my fics were really not that popular. The Wolf was kind of a crazy exception, and it remains so this day. Like, I don’t know if I’m a writer people recognize in general of if I just have this one crazy one hit wonder. The Wolf 1 still has more daily hits than any other story I have, including The Wolf 2. I was just the other day checking the KC tag on AO3 and The Wolf is #2 in hits, #3 in kudos and #1 in comments. Like, it is already one of the most popular KC fics ever on AO3. I know that’s nothing compared to the golden age of fandom on FF.net, where the truly most popular fics of all times are, but for me it’s still kind of totally insane, especially if you consider that fics nowadays don’t get anywhere near as much attention as they used to four or six years ago. I was SHOOKETH when I saw that.
If I ever thought it would get this popular? 🤣 Dude, this is a rewriting of The Originals that keeps all of the shows major plot points, including the magical baby. It’s everything this fandom abhors the most. There isn’t a day that goes by without some incensed anti-TO, anti-pregnancy plot crossing my dashboard, sometimes people feel very strongly about telling me that directly. So did I think this would be a popular fic? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I thought I was gonna get yelled at, called every name under the sun and shunned forever for writing this. I have no idea what happened there, but I am still incredibly baffled by how popular it became and the sheer amount of support it got. I’m so, so grateful to everyone who read all 300k words of that, especially the people who let me know they were reading while I was going some major confidence crisis when I first started it and who kept checking in here on tumblr. It changed my fandom experience completely and it was so heartwarming. The amount of comments I got from people who hated the premise of the story but decided to give it a chance and ended up enjoying it was crazy. It’s the nicest thing ever.
When I posted TW1, it was because Luiza (@itsnotacrimetoloveyou, who’s unfortunately not part of fandom anymore) told me to. I wasn’t going to. In fact, I had just deleted about everything I had, with the exception of NOLA, and I was about to drop out of fandom for good. She read the first chapter and insisted that I should post it and I got so many nice comments that I changed my mind about leaving and instead decided to keep writing it. So if anyone out there wish I wasn’t here anymore, you can thank Luiza and The Wolf for that. 🤣
Roseate lashes fluttered against porcelain cheeks as malachite apertures slowly came into focus. Where am I this time? It took a while, but she had been able to stand up on her own. The current area that she had been summoned to, at least that’s what she hoped had happened, seemed vaguely familiar, as if she had spent a childhood summer frolicking through the streets without a care in the world. The brisk air nipping at through her rose tainted tresses and whatever bare skin had been shown indicated that it was autumn, perhaps turning over to winter very soon.
Kazehana Kazumi. That was her name, and it would continue to be her name no matter where she was nor what era she was sent to. It would be her name for the rest of her life, and she made sure that whoever had sent her here knew that. Speaking of which, where and when am I? Walking around, Kazumi found herself amidst the crowd. From what she could tell, this era had to be a more modern era than the previous one she had been to. It wouldn’t be that hard to maneuver. Melding into the crowd, Kazumi fatefully walked by a store where the television broadcasted the latest news.
It was Fuyuki 2004. There have been strange happenings around town, things that couldn’t be explained by science or logic. Kazumi could sense the massive amount of mana that resided in this city, and frankly, it worried her. She had remembered hearing about the Fuyuki Holy Grail Wars. All five of them. The mage remembered living with her parents in the comfort of their home in Venice, Italy. If the year was 2004, then the fifth Holy Grail War should be soon. Clicking her tongue, the woman slipped away from the crowd, instead looking for an optimal space where she could summon a Heroic Spirit.
“It would be best to summon her during the night,” the pinkette muttered to herself, a hand ghosting over the silver necklace that hung around her porcelain neck. Perhaps she could— no, she shouldn’t. After all, if she was here, he was bound to be here at someplace as well, or about to be. No, it would be best to summon someone else, and she knew exactly who. The one Heroic Spirit who had been by her side since she had been a child. Her hand immediately went to her side, feeling for the sword she had concealed underneath the all encompassing vast jacket she wore. Good, I can summon her.
Under the cover of the quintessential eventide, Kazumi had been able to find a rather desolate place to commit the summoning ritual. Though, it wasn’t like she had the necessary means to actually summon a Spirit yet. Clicking her tongue, the Mage ventured out to get exactly what she needed. If this had been my hometown, I could easily go back to the house and summon her, no problem! Such an inconvenience, one that she must trudge through in order to save this era. With the materials she needed bundled in her arms, Kazumi began to mark the floor in the pattern of the summoning circle. The intricate patterns always interested her, finding them to be quite hypnotic. “That should do it.”
Once all necessary materials and the relic were in place, Kazumi began to recite the incantation from memory. After all, being from a prominent magus family, she had to learn and memorize the summoning chant from a young age. Never knew when she would have to summon a Servant either for the Holy Grail War or for other purposes.
“Silver and iron to the origin.
Gem and the archduke of contracts to the cornerstone.
The ancestors are my great masters, Kazue and Luciana.
The alighted wind becomes a wall.
The gates in the four directions close, coming from the crown, the three — forked road that leads to the kingdom circulate.
Shut (fill).
Shut (fill).
Shut (fill).
Shut (fill).
Shut (fill).
Repeat every five times.
Simply, shatter once filled.
————— I announce.
Your self is under me, my fate (doom) is in your sword.
In accordance with the approach of the Holy Grail, if you abide by this feeling, this reason, then answer.
Here is my oath.
I am the one who becomes all good of the world of the dead, I am the one who lays out all the evil of the world of the dead.
You, seven heavens clad in three words of power, arrive from the ring of deterrence
O keeper of the balance ————— !”
Malachite apertures watched with anticipation as the smoke soon cleared, the materialization of her servant taking place. A humanoid form took shape, filling out into the female body, ample curves in all the right places. The Spirit’s hand grasped the hilt of the sword used to summon her, the weapon’s blade swinging about through the smoke that accompanied the summoned woman. Kazumi’s right hand burned slightly as the command seals became more vivid against her skin, signaling her to thrust her hand out to the figure.
“I summon thee, Sword of the Shadows!”
At last, the figure materialized completely. The woman donned a head of beautiful violaceous — argentate locks, her body covered in the finest amaranthine and opalescent silk dress hemmed with gossamer sterling threads. She was undoubtedly beautiful, an angelic wing like halo about her head. Though, the woman was anything but angelic, her life of being a charlatan evident of that, coupled with the impish chatoyance in her vivid perse oculars. “Servant: Saber. At your service.”
Kazumi’s frontispiece broke out in a heartwarming grin, the rosette leaped towards the newly summoned Servant. “Sia nee — san!” The childhood nickname the Mage used on her beloved Servant stuck well into her life, never wanting to call her anything else except when facing other Master — Servant pairs. “It’s good to see you!” The Saber, on the other hand, could only wrap her arms around her Master, gently patting her head affectionately while the latter squeezed her with all her love.
“Kazu? It’s good to see you too! But if you’re here in this time period, that means — ”
With a solemn nod, Kazumi detangled herself from her Servant, now an austere contortion daubing her countenance. “Yeah…” Facing the city, the Mage let her hands clasp behind her back, a soft yet somber smile perching on her labrums.
“Let’s see what’s wrong with the world this time.”
just watched TROS and i have NO WORDS... (except i also have many). what was that
at about half of the movie one guy stood up, put on his jacket and left...I don’t think he was wrong
spoilers below (the bad and the good - however little that might be). please come to talk if you’ve seen the movie
first of all...WHAT THE FUCK. what the fuck...i sat through the movie and i had to laugh at times because whatever was happening was so absurd shit i couldn’t even imagine. at other times i just sat with my mouth open and could not believe they really went there...it was that bad. how in the world is this the end of star wars
the way the movie started... in the title sequence...”THE DEAD SPEAK” lol. palpantine’s return or whatever shit announced immediatly (which i didn’t expect would happen); then the first scene of kylo ren in slo-mo killing some random people (literally who was that) in some woods and then finding palpantine’s cave or something where palps told him “hurr hurr i created snoke...i was every voice in your head...kill the girl” - sir how are you even alive. i literally don’t remember if this was explained in the movie and i don’t think so
rey - jesus christ. girl. i don’t know what they did to her character. but anyway. in the beginning of the movie leia did some jedi training with rey and i loved that...especially when rey adressed leia with “master”! but in the start of that scene rey was flying in the air while doing some meditation and that was absurd imo / i laughed lol. then kylo ren showed up because of that force bond shit and rey messed up her training which sucked
nice scene: finn and poe returning from some mission and meeting/reuniting with rey on the rebellion’s home base - rey and poe bickered a bit, rey and finn hugged...i liked that
rey finn and poe and chewie went to a desert planet where some party was going on. nice scene: rey talked to an alien being there and it was a cute, nice interaction that would have been heartwarming
lando shows up, points them to some cave, where a big snake or something was which had an injury lol...rey gave it some life power through the force  and healed it. LOL: foreshadowing...
kylo ren and the knights of ren (lol who are they even) show up on that planet. while the others try to make a ship ready to leave, rey (why...) goes and stands in the middle of the desert waiting for kyle ron to show up or whatever. he does of course and races at her with his ship, she does that jump from the trailer and cuts his ship in half. it crashes and explodes. no, kylo somehow doesn’t die from that. meanwhile poe and finn told chewie to get rey bc they have to leave (knights of ren approaching), but while rey is busy doing whatever the fuck that was, chewie gets captured by some stormtroopers and is led on their transport ship. it takes off. finn screams to rey “they have chewie” and rey uses the force to try and drag that ship back to the ground...kylo emerges and also uses the force on that ship, and they have a force battle until rey does palpantine style force lightning on that ship. it completely explodes. everyone thinks chewie is dead. i was really horrified, not gonna lie, like rey...
but lol. SOMEHOW chewie was on another transport ship (lol???? where was that) and is alive after all. they go to rescue him. while they fly to the stardestroyer where chewie is being kept prisoner, rey says that “yada yada people say they know me but nobody does” to finn and it is awful... arrived on the star destroyer, finn and poe want to free chewie, while rey fucks off to do her own thing and go to kylo’s quarters. force bond kylo appears, they fight blabla, he tells her...
“oh you wanted to take my hand, i kNoW YoU you’re a palpatine, he was your grandfather” ................................................ i read the spoilers so i knew this was gonna come, but seriously???? what a crack fucking theory. REY PALPANTINE!  I QUIT!!!
flashback to rey’s parents who look like nice people who tried to protect her by leaving her on jakku. palps killed them after they didn’t tell him where rey was
meanwhile finn poe and chewie are captured, stormtrooppers are going to execute them. then hux steps in hilariously, kills the stormtroopers, and is like “i’m the spy for the rebellion.” i laughed
who is zorii...or whatever her name was.
the trio gang goes to that planet where the remains of the death star are...they meet a group of horse riders, one of them jannah. i loved her! i really did. she was one of the bright spots for me in that shitshow. her and finn talk, she also used to be a stormtrooper and has the same story as finn
also Finn was shown very clearly to be force sensitive! loved that
rey does another solo trip and goes to the remains of the death star...where she meets dark!rey which was hilarious and absurd. they fight and at one point dark!rey hissed and bared her teeth at rey - i actually scream laughed
well then kylo ron came to that planet, the water fight scene happened, and actually rey fucking killed him!!! he died! cut to leia. she says “ben” and then somehow just actually dies too. seriously. just like that. FROM WHAT???
anyway rey feels that leia has died and lol idk she’s like oh know and resurrects kylo with the force. yeah. lol. she’s then like “yeah i did want to take your hand...ben’s hand” and cries and leaves
really...who is ben. why do you care. what
on the rebellion base people are gathered around leia’s dead body and i don’t remember her name, but lupita nyongos character say “farewell, dear princess” and that almost made me cry
back to kylo. he’s looking at the ocean in contemplation. suddenly a voice behind him says “hey, kid”. he turns around and it’s han fucking solo. LOL
they basically play out the same scene as in tfa just before kylo killed han except this time he doesn’t. han says kylo ron died and kylo yeets his lightsaber into the water.
ok, another hilarious absurd scene: rey goes to luke’s exile planet and sets kylo’s ship (which she took to fly there) on fire. she’s throwing the lightsaber in the flames but oh! a hand yeets out of the flames! it’s force ghost luke who caught the saber and is like oh you should be more careful with a jedi’s weapon.
luke then shows her LEIA’S LIGHTSABER and there’s a flashback scene of LEIA AND LUKE DOING JEDI TRAINING !!!! a good part of the movie
rey takes both lightsabers and flies to palpantine’s planet. she meets him in his cave. palps does he’s usual unimaginable power shit...”i want you to kill me...then my soul will go over to you and all the siths that have ever been will live in you”. whatever
“ben” also shows up of course, he kills the kights of ren with the lightsaber that was magically teleported to him by rey i guess
rey and “ben” face palps together. he is like oh your bond is so strong, let me take all your energy...very reminiscent of dementor’s in harry potter movies sucking out their souls lol. they drop to the ground, unconscious. palps lifts “ben” up and yeets him into a big abyss.
there was a nice scene in between of poe grieving for leia and saying he doesn’t know what to do/how they can make it, but then lando shows up and they talk about how lando and the old trio back in the day didn’t know how to make it either, but they still tried etc. and made it
ok another nice scene: while palps is doing super force lightning to destroy the rebel fleet or whatever, rey is on the ground gatherig strength and she hears the voices of old jedi masters...obi wan! anakin i’m pretty sure also!
then there’s a nice shot of her standing up and facing the emperor with lightsaber in hand.
she kills him, but dies doing it.
but wait lol...”ben” somehow crawls back out of that abyss to cry over her dead body. he also revives her with force power. they look at each other sappily and kiss.......no words. they fucking really went there
actually when that happened the people in the cinema made a lot of sounds, some said ew lmao others just laughed
then “ben” dies for good lol. people scream laughed
in the end there was a nice rebellion victory celebration scene, i always like scenes like that
rey goes to tattoine and buries the lightsabers of luke and leia who show up via force ghost. somehow rey then has a yellow lightsaber in her hand. some old woman comes along and asks who are you? rey says...i’m rey.....skywalker and then watches the sunset. the end.
in spoilers i read it was said that rey says she feels incomplete without kylo and goes to live on tattoine alone for the rest of her life. maybe i blacked out and didn’t get that, but i did not see it. it did not happen, right?
when the movie ended some people in the cinema actually started clapping.
lol. i don’t know what that was...yeah it had some good moments, but it really was the worts star wars movie of all times for me. it was wild and absurd and stupid as fuck and i am so, so disappointed. TFA i loved, there was so much potential there...but then tlj happened and somehow tros eneded up even worse than that. i don’t know what the worst part for me was, rey palpantine, leia’s death in that manner, reylo... it was a mess. it actually makes me really sad. bye felicia
Transformers: Superlink References I Noticed
Most Trans-fans watch Transformers: Armada and Energon and see them as a completely different universe with little to no G1 references (and some Star Trek, Star Wars, and Pokémon references peppered into the trilogy), besides seeing them as some of the worst Transformers media; I saw Transformers: Micron Legend and Superlink that have a lot of G1 references, as well as being some of the most underrated and underappreciated Transformers media.
Superlink, especially, have many references from The Transformers: The Movie (1986) as well as parts of the original series, including Season 3, and a few callbacks from its predecessor, Micron Legend (Superlink is its sequel, after all).
The following G1 movie references I saw from Superlink include:
- The show brought back original characters from Micron Legend (including Ironhide, Sandstorm, and Shockwave), and then killed them off before even half-way into the series
- Megatron comes back as Galvatron; with not only a new body (which is a huge callout from the 1986 movie), but a different voice actor/seiyuu, as well
- Some of the original characters (especially Sandstorm, Ironhide, and Shockwave) were reformatted via Unicron’s power into completely different characters that are not as memorable
- Rodimus Prime (called Rodimus Convoy) makes an appearance, even though this Rodimus was not originally Hot Rod
- Springer (called Sprung in Superlink; which means the same thing) also makes an appearance
- A few scenes featuring Rodimus and Galvatron fighting each other is quite a big reference to the final battle in the 1986 film
- My least favorite Transformer: A Quintesson (Alpha Q)
- The animation is different than it was in Micron Legend; much like how the animation for The Transformers (1984-1987) was animated by Toei Animation, while the 1986 movie was animated by AKOM (and its style is a little different, as well)
- A completely different soundtrack specifically for the anime is used without reusing the Micron Legend soundtrack
- While songs like “The Touch,” “Dare,” and “Instruments Of Destruction” played at least once in The Transformers: The Movie, the intro and outro songs (“Taiyo no Transform” and “Calling You,” respectively) featured during certain episodes, especially in epic moments featuring fight scenes
- Not only is Kicker Jones a reference to Daniel Witwicky (a young tagalong human who is friends with the Autobots), he is also a composite character with G1 Hot Rod by behavior/attitude (he is quite impulsive, and wants his friends to not give up and fight for what is right)
- The female Transformer, Ariel, is a reference to G1 Arcee, since there was already an Arcee in Micron Legend
- There is a really fast Autobot; for Generation One, it is Blurr, and not only does he go fast, he even talks fast, as well; for Superlink, it is Wing Saber, who is quite an energetic Transformer to begin with (Episodes 26, 28, and the TV special are some well-known examples displaying his speed)
- Unicron looks a little more like his G1 counterpart than he did in Micron Legend
- Both the 1986 film and Superlink have their dark and silly moments, including beloved characters being killed off and Unicron causing destruction, and some slapstick moments regarding the Transformers
There are also some references from the original G1 TV show, as well:
- In both the G1 show and Superlink, an Autobot was killed off, and was reformatted into another, yet very similar, Autobot that is more well-known to many Trans-fans; respectively, they are Orion Pax (now Optimus Prime) and Wing Dagger (now Wing Saber); coincidently, both of their voice actors also voiced Ironhide (both Optimus Prime and Ironhide were voice by Peter Cullen in Generation One; Wing Saber and Ironhide were voiced by Koji Yusa in the original Unicron Trilogy)
- The G1 transformation sound effect is in the show!
- Many Transformers are based on their G1 counterparts, including Inferno, Wheeljack, Skyfire (almost), Omega Supreme, and Lazerwave (his G1 counterpart is called Shockwave, but since there is already a Shockwave in the Unicron Trilogy, the Decepticon’s name is Lazerwave, much like his Japanese version)
- Although they are not the same character, Superlink’s Red Alert and G1 Mirage share a very similar alt-mode, which is a blue Formula One race car
- The Shadowhawk Terrocons almost resemble G1 Lazerbeak; the Command Jaguar Terrocons resemble G1 Ravage; and the therapod Terrocons are called Dinobots (although, some may say they are a reference to Beast Wars’ Dinobot)
- The combiners made appearances in the show, including Buildron (a reference to G1 Devastator, but since there was already a Devastator in Micron Legend, the Decepticon combiner is called Buildron), Bruticus (whose individual combiners even kept their G1 names), and Superion (an Autobot combiner); there are also a few moments with Superion and Omega Supreme, as well, much like in Generation One
- One word: Energon (except, in G1, it is Energon Cubes; Superlink has Energon Stars)
However, being a Mecha anime show, Superlink also has references to other Mecha shows, including Voltron (as well as Beast King Golion and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV, due to the Grand Force (Prime Force) serving as Optimus Prime’s (or Grand Convoy) arms and legs), Gundam, and even the Brave Saga (including Brave Police J-Decker, in which I am also watching).  The Brave Saga, in particular, are referenced in Superlink, including the following:
- Once the Transformers Superlinked (combined) with one another, we see close-ups of their combining sequence, they call out their forms, strike a pose, and then the battle begins; special mention goes to Optimus Prime/Grand Convoy, with his Super Mode/Hyper Mode (with the Grand Force), Wing Convoy mode (with Wing Saber), and Omega Convoy mode (with Omega Supreme)
- While the Transformers shout, “TRANSFORM!” the Brave robots shout, “CHANGE!” once they transform into their vehicle mode or robot mode
- Both the Transformers and the Brave robots are emotive, and have had many humanized moments, as well
- Since the Transformers and the Brave robots are sentient and can talk, they also have different personalities that makes them what they are as characters
- Both Transformers and the Brave robots have a human companion who fights alongside them
- Both franchises have their awesome, funny, heartwarming, terrifying, and heartbreaking moments that makes their target audiences attached to their works
I could list more references and callbacks that I noticed in Transformers: Superlink, but I will leave it at that, and maybe you can also find references in the show, as well.
Also, as I have mentioned, I am currently watching Brave Police J-Decker, and I have completed 12 episodes, so far; the robots are very similar to Transformers, it has their awesome, funny and heartbreaking moments that motivate me even more to continue the series until the grand finale, and I already got a favorite character since Episode 1, Deckerd, the main Brave Police robot, and the main human character’s companion; and a really cool vehicle mode (also, I discovered another really underrated seiyuu, Toru Furusawa; he also made a brief appearance in Transformers, but he is mostly well-known in the Brave Saga; in fact, he is so underrated that DeviantArt does not have a single stamp or fan art based on him (at least not yet); so, for any anime and seiyuu fans, I would suggest giving this voice actor more recognition, as well).
That is all I will be saying for now.  Stay tuned for more posts.
Things that I liked about TROS
I decided to make this list so that I could watch the whole trilogy without feeling sad inside because there were so many disappointing things about Episode IX for me (and I wish that more fans who hated TLJ would have at least tried to do that and be mature?)
FinnPoe’s banter makes me smile
TROS has my favourite Rey outfit
The Festival of Ancestors is pretty and heartwarming
The new ‘trooper technology is pretty sick
Speeder chase wheeee
Chewie carrying BB-8 up the rocks like a smol child
Babu Frik reintroducing himself to C3PO after the memory wipe makes me die
Poe gets a bit of backstory (more would have been better but still)
Jodie Comer cameo
Kylo Ren’s swagger and parrying Rey’s attacks like a badass
Minor exploration of Dark Rey and the double-bladed lightsaber
Kylo Ren breaking a wayfinder with his hand
Kylo Ren dodging like a badass
Force Jumps wheeee
Rey killing Kylo Ren with the crossguard saber to bring back Ben and healing his scars when she does so because symbolism
Hobbit in spaceeeee
Luke lifting the X-Wing from the water was fun
Rey finally piloting an X-Wing and getting to wear one of the helmets that she plays with on Jakku
The music that plays when Rey lands on Exegol gives me feels (reminds me of playing games set in the Old Republic where you’re in temples on Korriban)
The massive Sith statues are sick
Sith throne? sick
Ben Solo (That’s it. That’s the bullet point)
The Jedi force voice cameos give me feels (I wish they’d been ghosts but meh)
It’s the Skywalker legacy lightsaber that ultimately destroys Palpatine (and in a way that’s defensive rather than aggressive)
Pryde go boom
I feel like I heard Ben mumbling Rey’s name when he’s pulling her into his lap and that would mean his last word wasn’t “ow”?
Ben Solo smiling is #THEBEST
It kind of makes me die that Rey’s hair barely looks disturbed by all the shit that went down
It also makes me die that Tatooine lady patiently stands there waiting for Rey to answer her question while Rey is staring off into the distance for ages at force ghosts
It’s okay if you disagree with any of the things on this list, they’re just what redeem the film for me or make me smile personally.
NMJ's flashback in the novel has a lot of interesting differences from the show!
LXC is the one to advise Meng Yao to get in his father's good graces. NMJ agrees and writes him a letter of recommendation. You know what, you two are idiots and brought it all down on yourselves. Self-damning stupidity score: NMJ 1 : LXC 1.
The scene where NMJ catches MY red-handed is actually even more damning. MY's face is calm instead of vengeful, he lures away and kills a whole bunch of his allies by himself (in the TV show, I got the impression that at least some of the rest were Xue Yang's work). And most importantly, he figns a suicide to attack and disable NMJ.
NMJ tells everything to the LXC... And LXC says "Ah, it's probably fine". Alright, I concede, at least book!LXC is stupid. Score: NMJ 1 : LXC 2.
In the Wen palace scene in the novel, the insult that prompts MY to kill one of the captured cultivators and attack NMJ is "Wen-dog". Thus, his excuse makes sense: he cannot bear an insult to the Wen clan while Wen Ruohan is watching him. In the TV show, only the first cultivator's insult is directed at the Wen like in the book; the second cultivator and NMJ say "Lackey!", insulting MY himself. As a consequence, his retaliation is clearly an act of personal revenge, and MY's later attempt to pass it up as necessary to maintain his cover is unconvincing.
The sequence of events leading up to NMJ's death is completely different!
JGY learns Clarity and volunteers to play it for NMJ. (There's a heartwarming scene where JGY defends NHS and his interests before NMJ.) Clarity works as is should.
NMJ confronts JGY about Xue Yang. At first, the scene goes almost exactly as in the TV show: they have an argument, JGY states he's better than other people, NMJ kicks him down the stairs and insults his mother. The only difference is that the altercation is witnessed by servants and disciples, unlike the TV show, where the entire palace is mysteriously empty and JGY calmly commits murder in one of the most public places in the world (out of all thearticalities in the show, this one breaks my suspension of disbelief the most). Then, LXC comes out and talks down NMJ who's ready to kill JGY on the spot. NMJ DOES NOT actually relay JGY's words to LXC. Score: NMJ 2 : LXC 2.
There's a great (and rage-inducing) scene where NHS refuses to train with the saber, NMJ burns all of his collected treasures, and JGY acts as a mediator. (Maybe this is adapted in Fatal Journey? Haven't seen it yet.) Then JGY plays Clarity again, but its effects are not descibed.
NMJ overhears LXC and JGY talking about him. JGY makes some complaints that are entirely fair. NMJ flies into a rage and draws the saber, but suddenly everyone around him looks like JGY. This actually matches the description of his death I know from the show, that he started attacking people indiscriminately -- in the show, he slashed at thin air a bit and then pointed his blade at two people one of whom was his murderer. So, the book version makes more sense. The last thing NMJ sees is the real JGY, "two streams of tears pouring from his eyes".
Just watched Lost Butterfly
It's... INTENSE. FUCK. INTENSE.
The way Sakura looks at Rin..... *Clutch chest*
They focus a lot on Sakura’s eyes. Pls don’t do this to me you know I’m weak to her eyes....
Berserker vs Saber Alter literally snatches my anything away. It's beYOND THIS WORLD.
Not kidding I've been having a stomachache for the whole week but for just that moment I didn't feel pain at all.
I was like, wait is this the climax? This is such a climax worthy fight tho? If this is not the climax then what is?
Berserker, u DA MAN.
Saber Alter doing that exact same pose as Saber in VN..... I sad.
Ilya-Archer little moments are precious and heartwarming
Ilya breaks my fucking heart even though it's still part II and I don't have one anymore.
On the other hand, the Rin/Archer is STRONK.
ARCHER CARESSING RIN'S HAIR AND FACE WITH SUCH TENDERNESS is what I'm WAITING FOR.
Yes that's actually the number 1 thing I am excited for in HF trilogy.
Sakura's first smug, condescending smirk on screen had me oooohh.
Really sad Ilya's Die Lorelei scene and song don't make it to the anime. I know screen time is limited but I was really looking forward to it for reasons I might probably post later
Holy shit I didn't know that princess theme is an actual scene from the movie.
*Sakura parading with the dolls* What kind of Madoka Magica shit is this *Switch to Sakura ignoring drowning dolls and gleefully blasting the others for candies* Ooooh brilliant allusions! *Suddenly cut to the actual event* OH MY GOD.
Gil is just here for being a literal eye candy.
SHIROU DONT CRY AAAAAAAAAAAAAA I want to cry too.....
Shinji Matou is the fucking worst but Hiroshi Kamiya is the fucking best.
All the slow motions in this movie are just, mmh, fucking good dramatic food.
Rin hiding an uncontrollably happy grin when Sakura calls her “Nee-san”... my heart...
Shirou and Sakura’s romance is just pdvwoonvdweifwgaoj i rlly am sad
*Prostrate in front of Rider because she is so perfect I have no other word*
Zouken Matou FUCK OFF. And I do NOT appreciate close up penis worms.
The shadow: *swirling ominuously in the sky* Sakura: O_O The shadow: *plops* u real evil now.
Kajiura OST + MAGIC by ufotable = Tell my parents I died happily
Aimer playing on the theater sound system is still an unbelievable sensation
I’ve never seen a climax leaving me this far off the edge since Infinity War.
SPRRRIIIINGGGG SOOOOONGGG WHEEEEEENNNNNN
Thoughts on Kamen Rider: Kabuto Episode 4
The episode starts with Tendou in his base form (dont remember if that is the Masked Rider form or not) fighting a Worm. This one has the capability to fly, so it escaped fairly easily.
We then see somebody running, with brief shots of a baseball in a fire? That will possibly be important later.
Kagami gets a delivery of fish, and Tendou's little sister comes to pick it up. I like her already! She hits the nail on the head, Tendou is rather arrogant, ah, she reminds me of myself. On second thought that may not be a good thing. Ohohoho, little sister fishing for information on her older brother? Kagami is not very good at deflecting, is he? Kagami has a younger brother, or had, as that may be his motivation to hunt down the worms. Kagami, dude, slow tf down, the food isnt going anywhere. Awwww, She's so wholesome, and Tendou is being a tsundere. And there is a memory of Kagami with his little brother, and then it turns sad. Poor Kagami. So, Ryou is there, but I am kinda suspicious, because this is a show where the main enemies disguise themselves as people to move undetected.
Hyori and Tendou are talking in the restaurant. Tendou seems intent on figuring out how to make his match up to hers. And now he is doing the dishes. So, we now know that he dissapeared two years ago, which means it wasnt a recent thing, and yet, Ryou looks the same as he did in the memory. Which, to be fair, this is a live action show, so the scenes were filmed at around the same time, but still. So, Ryou has no idea what the worms are, which, to be fair, are not known about by the general populous, I think. He also has the charred baseball, and Kagami is staring at it in what might be surprise.
So, back in the restaurant, Tendou and Hiyori are still doing the dishes when Kagami comes in. Tendou is suspicious, and rightly so. I dont blame kagami for being happy is brother is back, but exercise some caution buddy.
So, the boss, boss lady, and Kagami are discussing Ryou. "Its highly likely he is a worm mimic" more like certain at this point, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt. Wow, Kagami is not happy. And we finally get Kagami's motivation explained. Also, apparently Kagami can throw a decent punch, at least decent enough to be acknowledged by tendou, which is nice.
So now Kagami and Ryou are at the baseball field. We get some cute dialogue about promises and such, and Kagami explaining that an important part of him had gone missing along with his brother. Also apparently their father is still alive? Thats news, most Kamen Rider characters dont have a decent father, though, Sora in Kamen Rider: Saber is very lucky in that aspect. And we see that Ryou really is a worm. Poor Kagami, he was so relieved to have his brother finally back. Kagami is indecisive. If he kills the worm imitating Ryou, all traces of his brother will be gone, but if he leaves him alive, he will be betraying his organization. And now, Tendou is here, espousing his grandmothers words. And we get our transformation! Apparently all it takes to destroy lesser worms is a few strikes, which is fair. And now we see Tendou taking blows to make Kagami choose. Do we finally get to see Kagami transform??? And now the worm is conducting psycological warfare on Kagami, which slightly backfired, as he asked Tendou to destroy the worm.
And so we get our epic fight scene. No transformation from Kagami yet, but I hold out hope. And to be fair, it is only episode 4, so early days. The scene in the rain where Kagami says he will surpass Tendou is heartwarming, and heartbreaking in equal measure. Kagami's only link to his brother now is a charred baseball, but I like to think that whatever was left of Ryou in there dropped it on purpose, so Kagami had something to remember him by. And for our final scene, we see Misaka stalking tendou.
