Based on a Makotron gag about Skybound Optimus upgrading into other forms after using Megatron’s arm as a replacement. One of the forms was him using Trypticon’s body…

And I thought it’d be funny to turn it into an actual Combiner in Energon, where Trypticon is an ancient Autobot part of the same faction as Omega Supreme. (My logic is based on Laserbeak being an Autobot in Armada, and Leviamon, a Dark Digimon, being part of the heroic DigiMemory Knights in Digimon Fusion.)

Design wise, this form is just a modified version of what Mako did, but designed to combine similarly to Omega Supreme. It also takes some cues from a few Daigunder and DragoBurst Combiner Modes and Shoutmon X2.

I drew some Sketches of Armada Starscream, and Slight Redesign Sketches of Superlink (Energon) Hot Shot. Quite pleased with the result. and of course the Hot Shot would lead to another photo I had planned as well.

Energon had a few scenarios that called out the Decepticons’ bull about their inability to work together and value things other than power, and this leans in that direction.

In this version of the Unicron Trilogy, the Heathers AU kids are part of the crew, with Veronica seemingly dying in an Energon processing plant explosion by escaped prisoner Decepticons. While it’s revealed in the events of Galaxy Force Vector Prime saves Veronica, Optimus is pretty shaken up about loosing a valued ally and friend as much as JD and Braverman are, with Optimus doing his best to protect the other teens.

The planet they’re on is meant to be Pastel, Scorponok’s home planet in WFC.
