The wig had a lot more structure when I first made it, down to little pseudo-curls on the sides, but through multiple moves to college and back and to my current house it has...deflated. i used to freehand comics all the time as a child and since the part i liked was the drawing part i would just draw panel after panel because i didn't want to stop drawing to think about icky icky words, plus the story TOTALLY still made perfect sense! to me! and noone else, but 'whoooo caaaaares omgggg its not like comics and sequantial art are a communicative meeediummmm lmaoooooo'. i spent my entire childhood telling myself stuff like "oh pfft I know this story by heart- ill SIMPLY remember the dialogue and write it later" ...and. I can't help but admire baby maiora's (call that a minora ba tm tsk) fucking audacity? hubris? confident wrongness? kid couldn't even remember to finish the comics in the first place? INCREDIBLE levels of unearned self assurance, wish that were me, genuinely- what an icon!!! anyway i think i have forever cursed myself

in my head and in my heart, i know for a fact that all 3 todoroki children have really unfavorable habits that they got from endeavor.

fuyumi is mean. just honest to god mean. she doesn't even mean it most of them time. just being everyone's emotional support all the time causes her to suppress her meaner emotions and when someone pushes, it all comes out. but there is nothing in the world sharper than fuyumi's tongue on a bad day.

natsuo, ever the middle child. always there and always forgotten. natsuo is quick to get physically aggressive. never on people, god no. but he'll punch through walls like it's nothing. he's had his fingers broken and set more times than he can remember. he hates this part of himself. he already looks so much like enji, does he need to have his father's destructive rage too?

shouto... where to even begin with shouto. the child kept under enji's thumb the longest. shouto is more like enji than he would like to admit. he eats his food the way enji eats his food, greens first then everything else. he does his morning routine a near copy of his father's. this is what happens when you spend every waking moment of the first 15 years of your life with your abuser. that being said, shouto, ignoring the ever present constant thrum of anger that hides just below his skin, shouts a lot when he's angry. it comes from the chest, booming and seething. it scares people. he knows this and he hates that he cannot stop himself.

they don't like thinking about but when it happens all of them can't help but think i'm just like dad.

I'm doing a reading for a class that I withdrew from. It's an excerpt from a book about teaching, and the excerpt itself is about the refusal to learn. The author goes into detail about the difference between refusal to learn and failure to learn, and about why refusal to learn is a concept with its own merit. The price of refusal and its reward are pretty intertwined - you don't get to participate as fully with people who do learn, which can be a wanted or unwanted thing; you are set apart in status from those who learn, which again can be wanted/unwanted; you don't have your mindset changed, etc. etc.

I found it a very fascinating excerpt, though I haven't finished it yet.

Ashford: 2/10

Ashford does not want your cuddles. He does not need your cuddles. He gets plenty of touch, thanks for asking, and if you're looking for affection, he is completely clueless about how to provide. He scores two points on the cuddle scale for the following weaknesses:

He will get handsy if he's thinking about round two and on occasion the other party has mistaken this for affection and fallen asleep on him. He'll acquiesce as long as they don't get any ideas.

He is doomed to fall in love because I said so, but only very slowly, and as he does he gradually becomes more open to cuddling. What it looks like is creating space and letting them come to him. Being the bigger guy unlocks a protective urge in him but he channels that more passively into little things like running a finger through their hair. The more cuddly he gets, the more he's trying to avoid verbalising some feeling, this is something Kaidan learns.

Otto: 8/10

Otto was like, born with too many electrons. They're some sort of unstable compound that is constantly seeking contact with other people and then bouncing off of them. They like to throw their legs over yours, poke and prod, maybe wrestle a bit. They take full advantage of being short and small and will end up in your lap in no time if you let them. Could be platonic, could be romantic, they flirt with everyone. The downside is they don't sit still for long.
