So uh... anyone else think Leif’s paralogue is some bullshit? The snipers using ballistae are just RIDICULOUSLY strong. I don’t have a single unit that can withstand two attacks in a row (including my freaking GENERAL) so the wrong placement by itself could be deadly, and literally ALL of my healers would die if they’re in range of just one of them! Plus they’re bulky enough that no one is able to kill them from afar with Lyn’s Astra Storm. It doesn’t seem like engaging Ike reduces damage from ballistae either.
As if that weren’t bad enough the computer goes full Cheating Bastard on you and the enemy mages have WAY more range on their staves, so they can silence or freeze or break you from miles away.
IMO the recommended level for this is WAY too low. I have three other maps of the same level to do (two other paralogues & the next story chapter) and I’ll STILL be scared to return to it.
#fire emblem#fe17#fire emblem engage#i'm playing on hard if that makes a difference#i haven't played leif's game so i have to wonder if the map was that bad originally#i only exaggerated slightly. the snipers COULD tag-team and kill jade#if i had used louis he would have (barely) survived#i'm pretty confident in my assumption no one would be able to OHKO them using lyn's engage though#MAYBE panette but she's the only one. and she'd have to be way too close for them to be worth it#i was really hoping yunaka could do it. but alas#i'm not lying about the healers though#half my options are just immediately out because they're flyers. and my other healers are all much squishier#jean and celine and framme and citrinne would DEFINITELY die. pandreo would have either died or lived with like. 1 HP#either way i think i've had enough Engage for one night. that chapter was NOT fun and i'm burned out

Kappa stands in your way.
Kappa has Gigantamaxed due to the explosion of the Wishing Star. The Accident of 15 years ago is happening again.
Will you help Nema take down this monster, and prevent another massacre?
[Event details below. Event ends Dec 15th.]
[Gmax Kappa's ref.]
Event time! After watching the vote be somewhat evenly split for a while, I've decided to do a short sort of mini-event! (Making it short and sweet so it doesn't clash too badly with the other two events happening in the community rn lol)
The name of the game is this: Whittle down Kappa's health!
Create art or short written pieces of your muses from your Pokeask blogs attacking Kappa! One move or many moves, elaborate or quick posts, it doesn't matter! Kappa's health needs to be taken down!
When you make your post, @ this blog and tag the post with #aisfinale so I can find it! I will reblog your post with Kappa's reactions to your attacks and how much damage she took.
This is a very "anything goes" type of battle. Go nuts!
Some Rules:
No OHKOing or immediately defeating Kappa. I have plans for how this will end...
Remember, use characters from your own Pokeask blogs! No crossover blogs, please. (Fakemon are a-ok.)
As painful as it might be, Don't try to heal Nema! She'll figure her stuff out. Focus entirely on fighting Kappa!
I'm aiming for at least one post from everyone who wanted to participate, but if you want to attack multiple times, that's okay! Go for it!
If you would like your characters actions to be non-canon to your blog, let me know! So I don't come in with an ask about it later down the line. ^^'
A small hint, for those who want to do big damage: Aim for her headgear. ;)
If you have any questions at all, don't be afraid to message me! Here or on Discord! (sourdoughdw)
The event starts today! It will run from December 3rd to December 15th! Short, but hopefully just enough time for you!
Have fun!! I'm so excited to see your OC's in action!
#kappa samurott#pokeask#pokeask blog#ask-impatient-samurott#arc3#aisfinale#weeeee im so excited!!!#again feel free to message me about absolutely anything :>

I don't know if Rhealeth is fully your thing, but like what are your thoughts
I eat Rhealeth for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I think they're neat. Being able to let go of a fantasy and truly see the person who was always there for you.
Also the meme potential... Jeralt tells Byleth to be careful of Rhea and Byleth completely ignores that and invites her to tea and yeeted gifts at her.
Or Byleth seeing Rhea reveal her true form and immediately going to help her when they see she is in trouble. They deadass do not care about what she looks like. Imagine them running down that hill while they're internally going "HOLY FUCK THATS HOT"
Or how Byleth is so fucking concerned for Rhea in SS (and VW) and just wants to find her. They're running around Fodlan looking under rocks and climbing in trees to find her you just know.
Oh and Byleth not escaping when Rhea blasts the nukes at Shambhala when they could absolutely do that. They're worried for their dragon pope...
Also Byleth running over to Rhea's unconscious form and holding them like that "you good?" "no" meme.
And before the battle they just look so sad when Seteth tells them they gotta ohko Rhea. They dont wanna do that damn ittt.
And then the final cutscene. Byleth deadass ran ALL THE WAY to the cathedral while SOMEHOW keeping up with this big fuck off dragon. They were determined to get to her in time. And then they hold her as she flatlines from peak fiction.
#grey borb#Rhealeth#as for the implications#i dont really care#Byleth isnt Sothis so thats not the issue its more that Rhea got their dead mom in her basement#it adds some s p i c e#some d r a m a

tagging @thydungeongal since you're the one who got me thinking on it.
the post regarding severity of HP and hits and depth of damage on the body in ttrpgs has got me thinking about airships again (what doesnt)
SO
on a watership, there are a few layers of differing severity for an attack to land on: below the waterline, above the waterline, the masts, and the powder room. here, ive outlined how immediately fucked you are based on what gets hit. - mast, whatever, steering is screwed (also goes for the rudder, youre not done for but your steering is.) the bottom part specifically is highlighted because thats the part most likely to hit the deck and deal additional damage when it does - above the waterline, way worse as that is a hole in the ship itself. structural integrity is down but overall, it's not the end of the world and you can limp without really limping until you get to port to fix it, and things might collapse from above but youre still in good shape - below the waterline is... obvious. while it can be patched, someone has to be there to do so within a few minutes or youre going to sink where you are, and the larger the hole, the less time you have. a badly wounded ship means fewer fighters as you need to dedicate the bodies to fix the issue before everyone goes under - powder room. if you've got cannons you have a powder room which means an entire central spot full of explosives <3 one hit here and you're looking at a catastrophic event. best case scenario, you lose half the ship in a kaboom.
now, of course, not a lot of people are going to be aiming for the powder room, as a captured ship is a solid 40k in your pocket, 20k after repairs, and since most crews dont even number a hundred, thats a hefty sum in your pocket post-sale, or you can increase your own sea strength for higher payloads along the way. worth it to box the crew and save the boat.
airships, on the other hand, seem to have that in reverse, in which the hull itself is mostly expendable as long as you have the mode of locomotion and standing room. the integrity of an airship comes down to how it floats and how it propels. traditionally on that front, there are balloon types and sail types with engines. - with balloons, popping that balloon will result in the entire airship sinking. the balloon is "below the waterline." - with a sail-and-engine, the engine is akin to the powder room, a OHKO spot
THEREFORE
to roll this well, the dice master in question would need to roll a die per cannon. if the ship being attacked takes up 10 squares and you have 5 cannons, each cannon would have a chance of dealing damage. the cannonballs should be able to pierce about 50 feet, so the closer you are the further the cannonball can go. then you have to consider if the cannons are on the gunwhales or gundeck for the elevation, and the further they are away, the more likely theyll hit the next layer down, though the power is also reduced.
rambly
nat 20 roll on the cannon that's facing the powder room will cause an explosion. anything less won't as it's difficult to ignite powder with a lump of iron.
so basically: roll for each cannon involved, calculate based on map distance, account for any armor that the ship may have (plate the sides), and you can make the ships themselves into players in a battle, and each table player can handle a part of it, from steering to loading and firing, etc.
grappling and boarding are also a part of this, but i havent gotten to that yet. itd shrink the focus lens from the ships (environmental) to the decks (stage) though

Every electrical creature (dowatt, vaumora ect) now starts dying immediately if it touches water and ohko’s everything around it like a toaster in a bathtub. This also includes the use of water breath in which both attacker and defendant immediately die
You get the achievement “Sparkling Water” if you can take out 10 people at once using this method
Electrical creatures can also use lightning breath to supercharge mech creatures which either boosts every stat by 50% or just permanently paralyse it. If done while the mech creature is underwater, the entire server crashes. If you make the whole server crash you get an achievement called “Fork In An Outlet.” However, as the server crashes to obtain it, it is unobtainable. Because the server crashed.
this is fucking hilarious, i am SO on board

A thought that isn't really an ask but made me giggle. An AU of our Saw AU where Ms. Yamada meets the Twst boys and they instantly stop trapping people lol. (She gives them the 🤨 look.)
OH. MY GOD. That is so perfect. Friend. I love your brain. Alrighty, let's talk about another AU of our AU!!
(for those confused, feel free to check out our Twisted Wonderland Saw AU in the pinned post here, and our multi-universe Bar AU on AO3 here)
Mrs. Yamada gives the boys One (1) disapproving look and their reactions are as follows:
Heartslaybul
Riddle - in tears because he has sorely disappointed the sweetest elderly lady he's ever met and he is So Ashamed. He needs a hug and a sweet treat.
Cater - is definitely ashamed but tries to laugh it off a little. He is totally caught by surprise when she gives him a hug and pats his head (he needed it though).
Ace and Deuce - on their knees begging forgiveness
Bonus, Trey, who does not participate in traps - he is baking in her kitchen and giving every single one of the others an "I Told You So" look :D (he does get a little scolded for not stopping them though)
Savanaclaw
Leona - he definitely gets a little pouty, like a child that knows he's been caught doing something he's not supposed to
Ruggie - Mrs. Yamada's look is a OHKO. How could he justify disappointing this sweet granny, who reminds him of his own?
Jack - ears down and tail between his legs while he apologizes
Octavinelle
Azul - he definitely tries to convince her a little bit, but Mrs. Yamada is having None of it. He is quickly defeated. And she makes him take a vacation because goddammit Azul you work too much.
Jade - he's surprised at himself, at how easily he wants to go along with what this elderly woman is asking of him. He needs 3-5 business days to reflect on this feeling and process it (it's guilt. the feeling is guilt.)
Floyd - Mrs. Yamada says "no more murders" and Floyd goes "Kayyy!😊😊😊" and proceeds to sit on her couch and munch on the cookies she gives him
Scarabia
Kalim - Kalim is instantly on-board. He has tea with Mrs. Yamada regularly. They discuss how to help Jamil be less vindictive.
Jamil - he's reluctant to stop but she convinces him and then Mrs. Yamada makes him sit on the couch and relax while her and Kalim cook something for him and at first he's all tense, but then when it's not a disaster he finally lets himself get some much-needed rest.
Pomefiore
Vil - would not dare turn down a request from such a sweet, kindhearted woman who dresses so nicely and speaks so eloquently. He would much rather have tea with her than do a trap anyway.
Rook - initially, he is a bit uncertain because he thinks there *is* some art to the traps (this is Rook, he finds beauty everywhere) but he does consider Mrs. Yamada's outlook to be rather beautiful too, so he does agree and he joins Vil and her for tea.
Epel - part of him wants to fight back (verbally) because he has Issues with Authority, but he also knows better than to defy an elderly lady when she gives him a disapproving look. And, he can show Mrs. Yamada his favourite apple pie recipe. :D
Ignihyde
Idia - at first, Idia pulls his typical Idia-move and mutters something under his breath about "annoying old ladies" but Mrs. Yamada has Excellent Hearing. She whacks him with her umbrella. He immediately repents (and he and Renji can bond over it later lol)
Ortho - he's on board if Idia is. In fact, he loves Mrs. Yamada. He sits with her and listens to all her stories about how life was for her growing up and he goes through photo albums with her and watches her do embroidery.
Diasomnia
Malleus - he does his best to impress upon Mrs. Yamada the importance of creating a better world for Yuu. Mrs. Yamada counters that there are other and better ways to protect someone. He can't exactly argue. That is that.
Lilia - Listen, Lilia knows a Powerful Entity when he sees one. Sorry, John, but he's not going up against Mrs. Yamada. Not today.
Silver - he follows Malleus and Lilia's lead, of course. He does make a very formal and proper apology to Mrs. Yamada.
Sebek - he argues initially, because who is this human lady to tell Lord Malleus what to do???? But he relents after (several) whacks from her umbrella. Then, since she bested him in a duel, she has his utmost respect and he praises her almost as much as he does Lilia and Malleus. lol.
Those are my thoughts! Please add yours, I'd love to see where we can go with this little thought exercise hehehe!💜💜💜

In Touhoumon Asteria, all* Mythicals and Legendaries will have mechanics associated with their fights, and can't be caught until they are reduced to 1 HP, similar to how raid battles work in modern generation games.
All Mythicals and Legendaries will have boosted HP to indicate that it is a boss fight. They will also have innate resistances, stuff to make the fights not so easy to cheese (Such as with OHKO moves or Self-KO moves, the inability to transform, no PP reduction, status prevention, etc.) There will still be avenues to explore.
This particular one is for Ayakashi, who's battle revolves around the concept of being drawn to death which in this case is blacking out. The player has 4 turns to defeat Ayakashi, otherwise the battle ends in a blackout immediately. Every time the player deals active damage to Ayakashi, the turn count will reset back to 4, but Ayakashi's evasion will be raised by 1, making it harder to land hits every time. There are ways to get around this, but they may take up additional turns, or they may require you to run moves you wouldn't otherwise run. But, there will always be ways to deal with it.
For example, Ayakashi has specific immunity to sleep and attraction, so you can't prevent it from attacking that way. And with the raising evasion, hits get harder to land. So, in this case, you may find it prudent to run Haze to reset all stats, or maybe you'd be more interested in inflicting Burn or Poison to slowly chip away its health. Maybe using guaranteed hit moves- sure they'll be low power, but combined with burn or poison it could really assist in chipping down its health.
There'll be several other battles like this throughout Asteria. I can't wait to show you all what I have cooking behind the scenes.

yet another au: 'deep cut'. you'll see why the quotes are there in a second, and the reason is worse than you think.
small warning: big fan of body horror and horror stuff, so body horror and horror stuff will be present in this post.
basically, mr. grizz suckered deep cut into being on his side during RotM (which took place over, what, ~2 1/2 weeks in this au) with the promise of treasure. this isn't me trying to make deep cut look stupid btw. considering the demeanor of the actual mr grizz, i think he's just a Master Manipulator who took advantage of good people.
anyway, after deep cut joins his side, he gets them to come to a location hidden deep within alterna, then gets armed fuzzy octolings to ambush them. shiver somehow manages to fight them off, but is left weakened and on the floor.
she catches a glimpse of the actual mr grizz (just his eyes) and immediately tries to crawl away, but one claw swipe takes her out. they end up in his super secret science lab (which exists TO ME) and the results are...not pleasant. instead of fighting deep cut, agent 3 has to fight the following.
Eel It In: Eelthing
eelthing is Frye fused with her eels. not just combined, fused. together. frye isn't frye anymore.
eelthing's arena is like frye's, but the dome's screens are glitchy, the giant TVs are smashed, the graffiti/stickers on the ground are
torn, and everything is either gray or yellow.
stunning eelthing is just like stunning frye—just hit the masked eels. when that's done, the eels will explode into, uh...ink? and that ink that isn't really ink will recombine and form eelthing. it's like yellow devil but worse.
during phase 1, eelthing will separate into mutated eels, and those eels will perform eel downpour. the attack basically is eel downpour, just freakier.
during phase 2, eelthing will transform into a cylinder of eels that will spin rapidly and move around the arena. it's armor-breaking on contact, too. the move from phase 1 is there too
during phase 3, eelthing will actually stay in 'inkling' form for more than 3 seconds for once. this isnt good though, as when they stay in inkling form for this long, they will sprint straight towards you. when they get fast enough, they're invincible, and they create a path of ink as they run, but hitting the edge of the arena (which they do almost every time if you dodge correctly) stuns them. hit them when they're stunned out of every move, and you're golden.-
when defeating eelthing, they literally just...melt. and thats it.
2. The Fishy Foe: Sharkthing
sharkthing was supposed to be like eelthing, with shiver being fused with master mega, but something went horribly wrong. while sharkthing is fighting you, shiver is fully concious and aware of everything, but they can't do anything to stop it. all they can do is watch.
sharkthing's arena is like the octomaw's arena combined with shiver's regular arena. the water around the arena is murky, with giant rusted metal pipes in the background. the cage that covers the arena is also rusted and broken at the top. also, the entire arena starts out covered in sharkthing’s ink
for phase 1, sharkthing will dive into a puddle of ink, swim around, then swim up, attempting to bite the player. if you’re unlucky enough to get hit by it, it’s a OHKO. however, you can hit the puddle or throw a bomb on it and stun them.
for phase 2, a pillar of ink will form in a random part of the stage (read: wherever you’re standing) and sharkthing will leap onto it. they’ll spit globs of ink that explode booyah bomb style (but smaller) when they hit the ground. like master mega, when they do this enough, they’ll be left in a position where you can throw a bomb into their mouth
for phase 3, sharkthing gains 2 more attacks: summoning an inkstrike at your current position that looks like the pillar from phase 2, and diving into ink and reefsliding towards your current position and exploding when they reach it. they stun themselves after performing the second attack, giving you a chance to hit them.
when sharkthing is defeated, they collapse onto the ground. they do not get up.
3. Lean, Mean, Fuzzy Manta Machine: Fuzzball
fuzzball is just big man and fuzzy ooze. he looks like big man covered in fuzz, with the ooze part dripping from the bottom of his fins. he has glowing eyes (like someone we know) and his little hat is replaced with a tiny grizzco hat. specifically that one from splatoon 2
his arena is inside a mechanical dome, like the boss domes in splatoon 1, except it’s decorated to look like the inside of a spaceship.
fuzzball still dives into the ground like big man in phase 1, but will sometimes pop out of the ground and fall back down, spreading a good amount of ink in the surrounding area. if he falls on you, then your armor gets broken.
in phase 2, he swims around faster, and the arena suddenly sprouts walls that fuzzball can swim along. he will start to throw various bombs (fizzy bombs, torpedoes, splat bombs, n suction bombs) on top of popping out of the ground or off the wall if you're trying to swim on.
in phase 3, the arena kind of falls apart. five circles of the arena raise, like phase 3 of big man's fight, but the rest of the ground sinks, revealing a pool of fuzzy ooze. while fuzzball is more visible in the pool, you obviously can't go in it like he does. he still throws bombs, but when he's in the pool, he'll dive under and throw bombs from there, then resurface. there's also a new move for the third phase, of course, which involves him collecting a substantial amount of fuzzy ooze from the pool and tossing it at your current location. he also gets to throw another bomb: burst bombs. they don't do as much damage as regular burst bombs and aren't thrown as much, but when they are, they're thrown three times in a row.
when defeating fuzzball, he becomes extra fuzzified, then explodes, showering the arena in fuzz.
#splatoon#splatoon 2#splatoon 3#splatoon 3 spoilers#mr grizz#deep cut#shiver splatoon#frye splatoon#big man splatoon#new agent 3#au#splatoon au#i was thinking of having an extra boss before mr grizz that was all of them somehow combined but 1.#dont feel like writing all that. i spent like 4 days writing this#and 2.#that's not even possible#tw body horror

I remember reading about you saying something about the lack of IVs and EVs in Nexomon but now I can't find the post;;
Would you say it's a bad or a good thing?
That's correct! Nexomon does not have EVs or IVs or natures. Essentially, two of the same species of Nexomon at the same level have the same stats and access to the same moves. They are functionally identical. Whether that's good or bad depends on your stance on things. I'll go over it bit by bit under the cut:
In Pokemon, if you pick your Bulbasaur starter, you have to immediately contend with both a nature and the set IVs in each stat. Depending on what's rolled, your Bulbasaur may perform better or worse throughout the run. Those starting factors can have an impact on how it operates. Having this variance means no two playthroughs are exactly the same, because your stats are going to change how well certain options will work.
By contrast, if you pick Petril in Nexomon 1, it is the same every time. You know exactly what you picked, and every playthrough you use it, it will perform the same. There's no variance. This could be seen as kinda limiting to replayability, depending on your stance on its importance. It also means there's no reason not to just trade out something you have for a later catch at a higher level if it's the same species. Which can make it less about cherishing your specific monsters, in a way.
But on the other hand, depending on the Pokemon, variance is a huge problem. Bulbasaur can kinda get away with deciding between Adamant or Modest, you know what I mean? Hell, it can operate with Bold or Impish, or even Timid or Jolly. Flatlined stats worked in its favor. But something like Abra? Roll an Adamant and experience something that's just objectively worse for no reason. IVs are similar. Very little in the games really necessitates 31s in each stat, but rolling 0s? I had a Platinum run with a Piplup that had 0 in both offenses and speed. It was constantly outsped, and couldn't OHKO a Geodude two levels below it at the start of the game with Bubble.
While you never strictly need to concern yourself with the factors involved in Pokemon, I personally argue that most of them exist to be more of a burden than a boon, especially as new generations introduce more and more min-maxing of base stats. IVs only hinder when they roll too low. Natures effectively have four beneficial options, and at least eight that are devastating. Statistically, things are more likely to go badly for the player than positively.
I think there's something to be said for standardization. You don't even have to consider things beyond catching what you want to catch. It does mean that there's no way to power up weaker options that way...at least in the first game. Extinction has cores, which can be used to increase stats, and those are pretty flexible to use with whoever. They're percentage-based, so it's kind of a "rich get richer" situation like Z-moves were, but I didn't encounter much in Extinction that felt like...unusable, you know? That's a whole other post, but your moveset is just what you learn naturally, and as a result, type matchup is wildly more significant, and every tool operates well if you're using it where it can function. In comparison to Pokemon, where movepool bloat through TMs and egg moves have resulted in it being borderline impossible to work a type resistance in your favor.
Anyway, the short answer is I prefer it. It makes the game a lot more streamlined for me. But I'm also a lunatic who resets for Pokeon natures I want regardless of the game's difficulty.

[an audio file, a recording from a radio show!
GOOOOOD Afternoon Hoenn and whoever listens in! Back with battles, back with tension, this is 99.9 FM Battleradio Hoenn! We are waiting for our Reporters to come in from Fortree City where a tournament is held for the Fireleaf Festival!
That’s right! We are here waiting for the very first battle to begin for the “Battles under the Big Tree” Tournament! My name is Thomas Lorraine and Melanie Shuckle is here with me reporting LIVE from the event! The first round is about to start and we see two almost monotype-teams already on the field!
Thanks Tom! Yes, indeed a Monotype Flying Team from Camper Terrell who is here, defending the Fortree City Gyms honour against Trainer Tix, a foreign trainer coming here all the way from Unova! They even participated in the Bake of yesterday and won 2nd prize! And now they try their skill in the tournament with an ALMOST mono-poison type team! Only their Rotom is the odd one out!
Now, Mel, lets summarize the matchup before the fight begins! Since you already mentioned the Rotom, let’s complete Tix team: We have: Toxicroak, Toxtricity, Clodsire, Crobat and Scolipede! I think it’s worth mentioning that Rotom is in its Heat-Form! Maybe even possessing Tix own oven?
Tom you clown! Anyways, Terrell is bringing his well-known Taillow and Swellow into the fight who are his aces in the gym! But he’s got them well supported by Skarmory, Dodrio, Fearow and a Noivern! Tom, what do you think about this matchup?
Well, Monotype Teams are usually easier to assess, and i think that’s the case here! While Flying and Poison Type usually have a neutral matchup, i think Tix has clearly the upper hand here! TWO electric types are already a HUGE boost for them and the fact that Rotom is in its Heat-Form will give another edge, especially against Skarmory who is immune to the Poison-STAB-moves. On the other hand, i do not see many type-based advantages on Terrells side!
Tom, i think i can’t actually add a lot to this! Let’s hope Terrell won’t be shut down too hard by this unfortunate Matchup! Oh- We are not bad with our timing, they are recalling their Pokémon and the referee is counting down to begin the battle!
There we go Mel! The Lead we are seeing is certainly interesting! I’m not sure if Tix meant to send out Toxicroak first, but Skarmory was an expected lead from Terrell!
Well, if Skarmory is trying to set up Entry-Hazards, Toxicroak might become a dangerous opponent, and we have no knowledge of his moveset yet! Oh and Tix is bold and just goes for the Swords Dance! Will they be punished or is Terrell going for the obvious Spikes?
NO Mel, he is not! An offensive Brave Bird Attack immediately OHKO’s Toxicroak that is NOT a good first round for Tix! But if i’m honest i didn’t expect Toxicroak to do much in this matchup anyways! What will we see now?
An interesting move from Tix to say the least! That is Crobat! What do they hope to do against Skarmory with Crobat Tom?
I have no idea Melanie, but what will Skarmory do against Crobat either? NOTHING it would seem! Terrell switches out! That is… Dodrio! Dodrio is coming in! AND WHAT IS THIS? Crobat uses Tailwind, very clever! You see, Terrells Team is very fast while Tix has barely any fast threats! And while we see Dodrio set up a Swords Dance just like Toxicroak, Tix switches again! This time Toxtricity comes in!
Tom, i think the battle is turning quickly! Toxtricity is VERY fast now and those Electric Type Moves will do a LOT of work here!
Yes Mel, i think Terrell just lost his composure! He is Staring in disbelief, his Dodrio just got absolutely DESTROYED by that Toxtricity! That was an Overdrive and Tix just drove over Terrells plans i think!
Tom, please don’t make any more puns today. Anyways, Terrell wouldn’t be a Gym Trainer if that would be the end of the battle already! He sends in his Noivern! Yes, i think that’s the only viable play here since it is not vulnerable to the Overdrive like the others.
MELANIE did you see that? Toxtricity does not care at all! She is just standing there, MENACINGLY! Playing Music, and breaking into a solo to release another Overdrive! And it is simply too much for Noivern, Terrell is in real trouble right now! His Noivern went down so fast!
Tom, it’s not looking good for the Fortree Gym here! Terrell sends out his Fearow, but i’m not sure what his plan is!
Mel, i have to say i think he’s not sure either! Because we are seeing a real quick battle here! Fearow comes out of her ball and immediately drops down as well! Terrell has only three Pokémon left, and all three are not well equipped to deal with Toxtricity!
Yes, yes you are right! His next choice is Swellow it seems! Or is it Taillow? No! No, it is Swellow!
Yes, that is Swellow indeed, but it seems Crobats Tailwind from earlier has subsided and Toxtricity has lost a bit of her speed! At least, ouch my ears! That was a Boomburst from Swellow. I think Toxtricity felt that too, but it is NOT enough to knock her out! instead, that’s it for Swellow, fainting from one more Overdrive!
There it is! That is Taillow now! I think Terrell has accepted that he will be defeated? Maybe? I’m not sure, that Taillow has trouble a few Gym challengers in the past!
Yes Mel, and Terrell has not given up yet it seems! Taillow is quick on the move and that is a very quick move by the little bird! Is that a Brave Bird? Or was it a Façade, i can’t quite tell!
It does not matter Tom, it was not enough to take out Toxtricity, and there goes Taillow! Oh my arc, a sweep to open the Tournament like that!
Don’t say that yet Mel, Terrell still has his Skarmory and he is sending it out right- OH MY ARC MEL! NEVERMIND THAT, THIS OVERDRIVE WAS SO FAST! AND IT KNOCKED SKARMORY CLEAN OUTTA THE SKY! WE HAVE OUR FIRST WINNER!
YES! YES WE DO! IT IS TRAINER TIX FROM UNOVA! WHAT CAN BE SAID TO-

Alright, here's the team. There are some Pokemon on here that are found only through Friend Safari, so I hope that's okay. Idk exactly how Tumblr's formatting works, so if the formatting is broken, just let me know and I'll do an alternative.
I haven't finished writing the full definitive strategy yet (six pages...and I'm not even done with half of it) but I'll do a basic rundown:
Whimsicott - main speed control Pokemon. Also packs moves for disrupting Owen's tactics. While you can win without her, keeping her alive can allow you to stay ahead at critical moments.
Sylveon - anti-Gothitelle. Even without Gothitelle on the field, Hyper Voice is good for pressure.
Ninetales - two words: Aurora Veil. Two more words: anti-Amoonguss. After an initial Aurora Veil, Ninetales can spam Blizzard (perhaps alongside Blastoise) to have Amoonguss suffer from "my friends are dying around me" syndrome. The fact that only two of Owen's Pokemon naturally resist Blizzard (Politoed is irrelevant as it most likely would have taken a lot of damage by the time Ninetales enters the field for the first time) helps.
Clefairy - good support. In addition to protecting/assisting allies, there's also some handy speed control.
Annihilape - this is a pretty huge one. Anti-Archaludon! Anti-Incineroar! Incineroar is dead if it enters the field at any point Annihilape is active. Thanks to Defiant, one Drain Punch is enough to OHKO it. If for any reason Archaludon is being too difficult to take down, a single Final Gambit can take it out...assuming you don't get duped.
Blastoise - pair him with any ally if the situation sees fit. Whimsicott for speed boost. Ninetales to spam Blizzard with. Clefairy in case Serperior is on the field. While not exactly the fastest, Blastoise does outspeed Gothitelle and Incineroar, so Blastoise can go for a Fake Out to stop their Fake Out.
This team is mainly tailored towards beating Owen's team and staying one step ahead of him, so I'm not sure if it's any good against other opponents. If the opponent's team suffers from similar drawbacks (namely the lack of speed control), it may have a chance.
I'll be working on the full strategy for the time being. Hope you find this helpful!

So I was looking through this website for a store that sells clothes and jewellery that's based off of famous artists' works as I cried in broke :'(
And now I have a visceral need to go on a cute artsy date with rise!Mikey whilst wearing a Michelangelo outfit
congrats anon, on your ohko
i literally fell over when i read this
i found a site immediately (not the same site you were on unfortunately, but if you send that site to me my christmas list will thank you lol), and well it would have to be this one wouldn't it
mikey's not normally a jealous or possessive turtle, but he does love seeing his name on you. it soothes some urge in his hind brain, the one that has him constantly giving you hickies
he thinks you are the Cutest, and walks around the art museum you're at with your hand held tightly in his, smirking at everyone who compliments you on your outfit because obviously you're the best dressed person there
he's so proud that you're on his arm, he can't contain himself, all "yes, my partner has the best taste" to anyone and everyone he can
the unfortunate side effect of the hand holding is that whenever something catches his attention, he drags you off in his very excited wake
'he's lucky he's cute' you have to think to yourself as you trip after him
then you go to an art meetup at a nearby cafe, and you find yourself unable to concentrate on your artwork, too busy staring at him. he's so focused, and you think he's the most beautiful person you've ever seen
when he finishes and shows you that he's drawn you, in your outfit staring up at some of Michelangelo's work at the museum, well you fall in love with him all over again
(shameless plug: if you would like to read a fic of you and rise!mikey going on a cute artsy date, i wrote it here. it's a first date. the chapters are related but pretty contained, so you don't need to read the rest of it if you don't want to)
there's a pic of the dress i linked to underneath the cut, in case the listing gets removed
#rise mikey#rise michelangelo#tmnt#rise mikey x reader#this turtle takes you on the best dates#as someone who is into art history and fashion history#this scratched a happy place in my brain#i did have to stop myself from getting distracted by all the van gogh pieces on that website and drooling all over my computer#the sunflower cardigan! the bedroom shirt! i need them immediately!!#anyway#no You should have been sleeping three hours ago#i Had to do something with this before i exploded with feels#(and then my cat wanted to snuggle in my good arm and my elbow still hurts and this took forever for a tiny amount of content whoops)#talking tag#theory tag

I had an insane battle in Pokémon Black 2's Battle Institute
First of all, this guy had the same name as one of my friends; I have never met anyone else with that name.
He then leads with Articuno and Registeel. I was using a mono-electric team of Zapdos, Electivire, Eelektross, and Stunfisk. Articuno went for Mind Reader right off the bat meaning it was the fucking 100% accuracy Sheer Cold one. Zapdos and Electivire thankfully knocked itvout before it could OHKO anyone, but I was scared for my life.
He then sends out Thundurus, who, with some help from Registeel, immediately knocked out Electivire. I'm pretty sure that thing outsped despite me having Tailwind active on my side.
I sent out Eelektross who I then accidentally paralyzed with Discharge. At one point, Eelektross still managed to land a hit despite having both Paralysis and Confusion active.
I ended up switching it into Stunfisk instead only for Thundurus to go for Sky Drop. That move is banned!!! Why can he use it, but I can’t???
Anyways, I finally took down Registeel with a Heat Wave from Zapdos. Thundurus used U-Turn to switch to Regigigas before just reappearing on the other side of the field.
Regigigas decided to spam Wide Guard which completely walled Zapdos who only had Tailwind, Light Screen, Heatwave, and Discharge.
I eventually swapped Zapdos for Eelektross and also put Toxic on the Regi via Stunfisk. Eelektross finally defeated Thundurus, then the two of them waited while Regigigas slowly died to Toxic.
#I got all of the stars for that set of battles#mono-electric for the win#Some turns were omitted from the story#Sky Drop Thundurus was fucking wild though#My team was Zapdos with Discharge Heat Wave Light Screen and Tailwind#Electivire with Earthquake Rock Slide Quick Attack and Fire Punch#my party Eelektross with Giga Drain Thunderbolt Crunch and Brick Break#and Stunfisk with Pain Split Toxic Earth Power and Protect#Pokemon#Pokémon#BW2Unova#Battle Institute#Regigigas#Articuno#Registeel#Sky Drop
