detention // remus lupin.
professor!lupin x fem!reader
plot: on your last day of sixth year, you get detention with professor lupin, developing a huge crush on him since then. two years later, you graduated from hogwarts and were invited to join the order of phoenix by the weasley twins, so you arrive at the black family house where you've been provided with a place to stay by the order after recently being kicked out of your home. is then when you discovered that you would have to live under the same roof not only with sirius, but also with your big crush from years ago, remus lupin.
tw: professor x ex-student, nothing inappropriate happened when y/n was a minor, like a huge age gap (reader is 19, almost 20), mostly romance/fluff i guess, a little angst, mentions of the reader being a slytherin, reader is friends with the twins but she's older than them by a year, mentions of smoking, sirius black being sirius black it's his own warning, low caps on purpose.
notes: english is not my first language, thank you for the support on the other one-shots!!! ALSO HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! âĄâĄ xoxo.
ps: i wrote this listening to speak now (the whole album) by taylor swift and it was an INTENSE experience.
it was your last day of sixth year and you couldn't believe that your last hours before dinner and taking the train were going to be spent on remus lupin office. now you really regretted following the twin's ideas for once.
in your eyes it was an innocent last-day-of-school prank, but it ended up with you three accidentally setting the whopping willow aflame for like twenty seconds before the three of you managed to stop the fire. yet, professor snape was the one to see the whole sequence of events, meaning he was completely livid and not so forgiving as others professors could be so he sent you and the twins straight to detention.
and that's how you ended up in professor lupin empty classroom, in detention, for three hours. of course snape separated you from the twins, so not only you were going to be sitting in one of the classroom benches for a long time, you were also alone.
remus was finishing getting some papers in order as he supervised you, and you sat quietly in the front row, completely bored as you looked at what he was doing to entertain yourself. in one moment, his eyes went to you, noticing your clearly irritated face.
the moment snape appeared in his door grabbing you and made him take care of your detention time (only to put more work on him last minute, he believed) you made him remember the times he used to do the same stupid shit with sirius, james and peter.
so, for the sake of the old times and the fact this was the last day of school, he decided to make your detention a little bit more entertaining.
âmiss (l/n).â he called you, his voice calm as always.
âprofessor lupin.â you answered, still irritated but with the energy to speak ironically.
âwhat were you trying to do with the twins?â remus asked you, a subtle smile on his lips. he was looking at his work while he talked to you.
âwhen?â you answered smiling, trying to play dumb because the fact that the prank went terribly wrong embarrassed the hell out of you.
remus stopped organizing his paperwork as he raised his eyes from his work to give you a serious âdon't pretend you don't understandâ look, making you sigh in redemption.
âokay, im sorry professor, stop looking at me like that. it frightens me a bit.â you admitted as you rolled your eyes. âwe were trying to set fireworks that were meant to activate when everyone went outside to take the carriages.â
his eyes relaxed when he got and answer and he continued with his work. he seemed to be just minutes away to finishing with his paperwork, though.
âyou know, when i was your age i did the same kind of things with my friends.â remus said, chuckling a bit.
âno way.â you answered, clearly in disbelief. remus looked at you smiling softly for a moment.
âi swearâ he added, and you instantly laughed.
âfor merlin's sake!â you exclaimed, enjoying his confession and now feeling less alone than before. âthe mysterious and innocent looking professor lupin ended up being a troublemaker, who could have guessed it?â you said, laughing.
he smiled as you laughed, still working on his papers.
âmysterious?â remus asked, an eyebrow raising in curiosity.
ây'know, what the other girls always say about you.â you added, trying to reference the constant things you heard from your classmates. âthat you're mysterious because of your-... y'know.â you pointed at your face to reference his scars with all the delicacy you had. being a slytherin didn't helped a lot with having much tact, but for remus you tried. remus on the other hand, was usually uncomfortable with his scars but it warmed his heart a little that his students didn't think his face was completely unpleasant, as he did.
âthey also say that you appear to be sweet and kindâ you kept enlisting what you always heard, things that you also thought. things, that you firmly believed he didn't needed to know you thought. âand of course what i consider a classic at this point: that you're beautiful.â you ended up, a little smile on your lips.
remus stayed silent for a second before answering. a yawn scaped your lips as you were really tired. the whole thing with snape scolding you and the twins into oblivion had left you exahusted, yet you guessed remus wouldn't let you sleep on detention.
âthose are all the things they say about me?â he asked, calmly. his apparently soft lips giving you a warm smile. somehow inside your chest you knew he wasn't as pure as he appeared.
in your eyes, remus had the look of a wounded man who couldn't afford to be innocent because he was already rotting since long ago, his soul marked with the kiss of something beautiful enough to torture a man.
there had to be a reason for the way this man was always looking like he knew something you didn't.
âyes. i think all the girls have a crush on you.â you said, answering his question like if your mind wasn't lingering on the way his fingers moved while manipulating every paper in his desk. that's what finally made you realize that in some point you were included in the affirmation you said, because remus lupin was too kind with everything and everyone for you to not end up completely mesmerized.
yet, you thought it was natural for you to develop a crush when this man guided your hand with his in class and whispered sweet instructions in your ear when he picked you to make a demonstration. i mean, who would not feel butterflies around him was the right question.
âi never noticed.â he lied, because in fact he did noticed, but it was fun to have someone gossiping with him about the class rumours. not that remus specifically enjoyed them though, but sometimes he felt like a gossip when discussing with, for example, minerva about all the things other students commented about him.
and right now, you were the one making him feel like a gossip. he honestly believed that you were his funniest student but also the most oblivious one.
oblivious, because you truly believed he didn't noticed you were one of the girls crushing on him too.
you smiled at remus, looking at him for a moment. you were aware that he probably lied about not noticing what the girls commented of him. he had this delicate demeanor in his face features that you couldn't fully explain, even if his skin was full of scars.
and every single one of those scars felt like a whole mistery waiting for you to solve. what you didn't knew yet, was that his scars were a prophecy of his damnation.
âi thought every teacher noticed.â you stated, smiling tiredly at him. as your thoughts became a little cloudy, you could notice that you were about to fall asleep, so you felt like you had to ask remus if you could rest a moment, or at least warn him. âprofessor lupinâ you called him.
âyes, (y/n)?â remus answered, using your name. a chuckle settled in his lips as he used the same ironic tone you used earlier when he called your name.
maybe it was the fact that you were sixteen at the time, and your hormones were crazy or the way you suddenly started struggling to stay awake, but something in the way your name came out of his lips made you feel like you had a cloud of furious butterflies inside your body, eager to come out of you. his voice made your name sound so elegant that every letter curled in your guts and twisted your heart like a siren call straight from the deepest ocean.
a subtle blush settled on your cheeks, and you took a deep breath as you noticed how his smell was all over the classroom: chocolate, parchment, coffee, old book pages. autumn.
being in sixth grade meant that the amortentia was on your class program, and after some time alone with professor lupin, you quickly connected the dots of what was exactly the scent you smelt that one time snape put a calderon full of amortentia in front of your class and asked what was it.
yet you were getting too sleepy to deal with the huge crush you just realized you had with remus lupin in that moment. « i'll handle it next year » you thought, like if he wasn't in your amortentia scent, before finally answering him.
ânothing, i was just going to ask if it would be possible for me to take a quick nap hereâ you asked him, smiling clearly tired. âplease professor lupin, snape exahusted the hell out of me.â you added, as if the plea would do something to help your case.
remus looked at you clearly trying not to laugh at the things you said. if you only knew he detested him just as you did, and that he always got exahusted from dealing with severus too.
he let out a deep breath before answering.
âgo ahead. you do seem tired.â he said, having a little mercy on you. âi'll wake you when detention it's over.â remus added, now having finished with his paperwork and opening a book he had in his desk. it was the last day of school, and he felt like you deserved a little of good will from him.
you rested your head on your arms against the bench, closing your eyes softly.
âthank you professor, that's why you're my favourite.â you said, finally letting the sleep trap you in his arms.
remus watched over your dreams with the affection only him could possess. the sweetness he lacked as a wolf, he had it as a human.
so, when you had sleep over almost all your detention time, remus stood up from his desk chair and walked over you to finally woke you from your well deserved nap, fifteen minutes before dinner.
ây/nâ he said, calmly. ây/nâ he repeated.
you opened your eyes, moved your head a bit and looked up at him, standing up in front of you.
âgood evening, professor.â your answer came out sleepy, pieces of your dreams lingering on your body.
âgood evening, y/n.â he smiled at you from above. âhere, take this.â remus said, placing a piece of chocolate in your bench, next to your head. âit'll wake you up a little.â
you didn't answer, as you were still trying to keep your eyes open.
âi need to get all these papers to my office, please leave the classroom door closed when you go to the great hallâ he added, ruffling your hair with kindness before grabbing a pile of papers on his desk and leaving you alone in the classroom with the piece of chocolate as his only remain.
when you were awake enough, in the solitude of the classroom, you ate the chocolate piece and left, too excited and flustered with what just happened to remember that you had to leave the class door closed.
after that day you went home, spent your vacations there until your seventh year started, and when you got to hogwarts and dumbledore announced that your new professor of defense against dark arts was going to be alastor moody, your stomach dropped to your feet in deception.
that was the exact moment you damned your sleepy ass and how you thought you could do something about your crush «next year». you couldn't. you wouldn't.
and the worst part is that you knew that even if remus were there, nothing would have ever happen. he was a good man, and you were just a stupid girl thinking you stood a single chance with him. or maybe not, but still you wanted to see him every day again if it was possible.
the first night of your seventh year you cried like a heartbroken girl in your bed because you thought you wouldn't see remus again, and none of your dorm mates knew what happened to you or how they could help.
the only ones who knew what was happening to you were fred and george, because they were your best friends, and even if they did everything to make you feel better you were still crying for weeks like if someone had died.
and, being aware that harry potter surely would know what happened with lupin, the twins borderline interrogated him for days until he spilled out what he knew. so fred and george came back to you with the whole story: lupin was a werewolf and he had to quit because snape sniched on him with the students parents. obviously, you scolded them because harry had enough to think about with someone slipping his name into the goblet of fire but you were extremely grateful, and now you had an excuse to murder snape.
yet, you also had an answer to all the questions you had about remus. why his face was full of scars, why he looked so emotionally wounded, why he always seemed to know something you didn't, why he disappeared once per month. he was a werewolf.
so, settling with the fact that you would probably never hear of him again you kept your broken heart and your silly little crush in a box, graduated from hogwarts and went home. until one day, an owl with a letter woke you up early in the morning crashing into your window. you recognized fred's messy calligraphy.
« dear (y/n):
well that sounded awful. anyways, how is it going? be kind enough to write us a letter one of these days, we've been missing you.
since you're sooo good doing crazy shit with your wand (almost like us) me and george fred george recommended you to our parents for a little organization that's starting to rise again. we cannot explain more since y'know, the ministry is intercepting owls like crazy.
please come on september 9th at night to 12 grimmauld place. don't use flu. or maybe just come to our house first and we can take you there. yes, that's it, come to our home and we'll go together to grimmauld place.
we expect a letter to confirm your answer. or maybe just a letter telling us about you. please write us we're desperate!! and we miss you!!
ps: lupin will be there ;) SO SAY YES!!
sincerely yours,
fred george george and fred fred and george weasley »
you laughed at the whole letter, and when you read about remus being there, you decided to do what they asked you. you quickly wrote an answer and sent the owl back to them saying yes, but your parents ended up finding their letter.
your parents weren't the most tolerant people, being wizards with an opulent life and purist ideas just like the malfoys, so of course they weren't happy about you receiving a letter not from one but two weasleys. and for once you stood up to fight them back, confessing you planned to go with your friends.
that was the last straw, and days before of what fred and george stated, you were in their front door because your parents kicked you out of home with promises of disinherit you. you were a blood traitor on their eyes now.
the weasleys kindly received you and finally explained for what organization they were trying to recruit you: the order of the phoenix.
you agreed to join gladly, out of rage for your parents ideals and out of impotence because you openly believed what harry said: voldemort was back.
and, just as fred and george promised, on september 9th everyone went to grimmauld place, you included. it was a shiny full moon night and when you and the weasleys stood in front of the door, for a second you wondered if remus was okay. if his transformations were painful, if he was going to be comforted after.
when you got inside the house, the weasleys revealed to you that the plan was for you to stay at grimmauld place, and keep sirius black (who you recently found out that was an innocent) company the most part of the year. you were told that everyone would pass from time to time and that remus was probably going to be staying there the most of the time too.
so, you met sirius, who guided you to his deseaced mother's room and told you to leave your things there since you were going to be living there full time. you settled up and after a lovely dinner that molly prepared, you officially joined the order.
it almost felt like a fever dream, days ago you were at your parents house, and now you were joining a resistance and just hours away from seeing remus lupin again. a part of you was excited and other was scared of falling in love with him, heartbeat going crazy just at the idea of sharing a home with him.
you went to bed in the middle of a haze, the sheets embraced you with tenderness as you closed your eyes and the fatigue of all the events clouding your life catched up with you. you had a dreamless sleep until a scream suddenly waked you.
you didn't found time to change as you got out of bed almost running, worried that something had happened. yet, the moment you went down the stairs you saw arthur, sirius, moody and molly (who was clearly agitated and you guessed she was also the one who screamed) looking at someone laying in the sofa of the living room.
it was late for you to go back unnoticed, as sirius instantly saw you.
â(y/n)â he said, tenderly. âi apologize if we woke you.â
you didn't answered because in the exact moment he talked to you, arthur moved from his place and you saw the face you never thought you would ever see again.
remus layed on the sofa, his face was extremely pale and full of scraches, he had a nasty wound on his chest and in general, he looked sick. molly was helping to treat the deep cut on his chest and you quickly realized that was probably what made her scream.
you looked at sirius, your expression soaked in concern for remus state. it was almost unrealistic seeing him like this but you finally understood the violence involved in being cursed by the moon.
it was the first time you saw him in two years but your eyes couldn't fully believe what they were seeing. the one you adored so much in deep secret, was injured and almost unconscious.
a part of you knew you didn't had to seem extremely worried if you intended to keep your secret, but it was hard for you to restrain your feelings.
âis he-...â you doubted before the words escaped your lips. âis he going to be alright?â
no one but sirius payed attention to your presence as they were focused on remus. he looked at you with reassurance as you stood on the doorframe.
âyes, yes. do not worry, he has been worse.â sirius answered, giving you a calm smile. âgo back to sleep, tomorrow it's going to be a long day and we'll have a meeting.â he added, as his attention went back to remus.
your feet refused to move for a couple of seconds and just when you were about to turn back and go to bed, remus eyes met yours. his gaze subtly widened and you felt like a deer in lights, provoking you to almost run upstairs just the way you did a couple minutes ago.
but as you left, remus felt ashamed of himself. after not seeing you for so long, suddenly now you knew what he was, who he was. what the beast inside of him provoked every full moon.
at the same time everyone treated his wounds, trying to make him feel better, in his mind he cursed his lycanthropy. remus couldn't help but feel like a constant burden, a beast who had to be kept captive.
as a couple of days went by, you didn't saw remus at all. molly insisted on him resting some days in bed since he was injured and his transformation had been quite violent so you only heard the news that she or sirius brought back of remus state when they went to check on him.
until one night you couldn't sleep, and you decided to go downstairs for a cup of tea. you tried to be silent as you got out of your room in your pajamas and went to the kitchen.
but oblivious as you always were, you didn't noticed that as you prepared your tea, your back facing the doorframe, someone else was also getting into the kitchen but with the intention to get a coffee.
âgood evening, miss (l/n)â you jumped back as the teasing voice of remus lupin scared you, making you drop a bit of tea over the counter.
âshit-... prof- sorry-...â you said, surprised and nervous. the words struggled to find an order while coming out of your lips but you realized in time that remus wasn't you professor anymore and that he was probably joking.
the way he said your last name scratched your brain in a oddly specific way. or well, everything he said had that effect on you.
âim sorry, i didn't meant to-...â remus started to say but you interrupted his words, turning to face him.
âdon't worry it's okay, i didn't thought someone else would be awake.â you answered, smiling at him.
the moment you looked at him you noticed that remus had the same loving and sweet gaze he had two years ago. all this time you believed that you may had been delusional about your crush over him, that maybe you had set a extremely high standard or that this was all a product of the idealized remus you had on your brain, but no.
as you saw him standing there, a comfortable brown sweater on his body and his now healed scratches on his face you realized that the man you've been crushing on was as wounded and broken as you once remembered. the same tender look on his eyes being a constant reminder of the cruelty of his destiny at the hands of the moonlight.
âyou can call me remus, by the way.â he clarified, smiling at you and you nodded.
âremus... sounds good. better than professor lupin.â your answer was a little bold but you felt relief when he chuckled. âso, what are you doing here this late?â you asked as the cup of tea went to your lips and you took a sip, testing the temperature.
âi could ask you the same, you know?â remus smiled as he walked closer to the counter, meaning he was closer to you too. âi was craving coffee, and since the days after the full moon i can never sleep, a night coffee it seemed like a good idea.â he added, as he started preparing one. âalso this is the only place in the house where molly allows me to smoke.â he said whispering playful like if he was telling you a secret.
then you gave a quick look at the ceiling and noticed that had some stains. stains caused by the cigarette smoke, you guessed.
you smiled at him and took another sip of your tea.
âare you feeling better, then?â you finally asked him, curious and nervous. the question had been repressed in your chest for a couple of days.
âwell, sirius and molly took good care of me.â remus said, still preparing his coffee. âi feel a little numb this time, though. it was more intense than usually.â
âi was a bit worried.â you admitted, looking at his hot coffee on the counter, and then directing your eyes to his.
âi know, i saw you. and i heard you.â he answered, now grabbing a cigarette he had tucked behind his ear. âi thought you were scared of me, by the way you ran upstairs when i looked at you.â remus smiled a bit while speaking, but it became a melancholic smile when he said those last sentences. then he put he cigarette on his lips like a tender death kiss.
you realized how he was probably insecure about his nature. for him, a death omen. but for you, it felt like the moon loved him so much she needed to have him for herself once a month. but it was a exhausting love, the kind of love that consumes you to the core of your being and hurts your soul.
yet you wondered what kind of love remus had to offer, and if he indeed had feelings for someone inside his chest, who would be the one blessed with remus love.
when remus lighted the cigarette, he took a deep drag and released the smoke with a certain elegance that you couldn't explain.
âno, i could never-...â you stopped yourself from saying something you would probably regret. âi wasn't scared, i was embarrassed. i thought i was being intrusive. it was one hell of a entrance after not seeing you for two years, though.â
he smiled at you, more relaxed than before as he leant against the kitchen counter. the hand that didn't held the cigarette was now grabbing his coffee and your eyes quickly made their way to his fingers against the cup. you felt like you were sixteen again, looking at his hands.
when he answered your gaze found his again.
âyou're right, it's been a long time.â remus took a sip of his coffee. âi hope you didn't got in much trouble after i left.â
âi became a bit worse.â you admitted. then your lips kept moving, saying things you didn't thought you would ever admit. âi used to have a crush on you, back in hogwarts. i was sad when you left.â
remus smirked, the cigarette separating from his lips before he responded.
âi know, the twins told me some weeks ago, before one of the meetings.â he confessed, a soft laugh escaping his lips. âthey said you cried.â
a deep blush crept into your cheeks, and a intense feeling of embarrassment settled in your stomach. you left the tea on the counter, and covered your face.
âoh for merlin's sake, i can't believe they told you.â your hands left your face and you stared at the floor for a second.
âif it makes you feel better, i already knew.â remus said, finishing his cigarette.
you stared at him in disbelief.
âsince when?â you asked, feeling like you could die of embarrassment.
âsince the day you had detention with me.â he answered, calmly. âit is true? you cried?â remus curiosity won over him.
you sighed, defeated.
âyes, i cried.â your words were shy, but then you became a little confident. âfred and george told me snape was the one that made you quit, so he became my pranks target and i got a lot of detention time.â
remus laughed, and that made you blush even more and your heartbeat raised to the ceiling. he finished his coffee and spoke.
âi pity him, i wouldn't dare to provoke the rage of a young woman.â remus answered. âeven less yours.â
âwhy-...?â you were about to grab your cup of tea again as you responded but his hand moved to the kitchen counter counter in that exact moment, meeting your hand with his.
when your hands touched, it felt like a shock of electricity running through your whole body. you instantly pulled back from his contact, looking at the floor.
feeling like you had your heart stuck in your throat, an inevitable realization came to you like a rush of adrenaline. you were too far gone for this to be only a crush. you've spent two years loving him endlessly, and now that you were with him you could only wonder if you would've kept loving remus like this if the twins hadn't recruited you, and he weren't beside you in this exact moment.
the typical boldness that layed on your chest had left you for a moment and you needed to take a deep breath. when the words came to you, they were far more brave that you could ever imagine.
âwhat if this crush never faded?â your voice trembled for a second. âwhat if it became worse?â
remus sighed and took his hand to your chin and forced you to look a him in the eyes in a sweet gesture.
âwe can't, i'm too old for you.â he said, almost in a whisper.
âi never cared about that.â you answered in a heartbeat.
âwell, i do care. it's not only the age, it's-...â he made a brief pause. âi'm dangerous, (y/n). im not good for you at all.â
âi don't care, remus. i'm not scared of you.â you moved closer, you could be in front of him.
remus was taller than you, a detail that never failed to make you weak before him. you looked up at his eyes.
âyou don't even know me properly.â his voice sounded a bit shaky.
âi never thought i did, yet i always had the desire to do so.â everything he had to said, you've already had thought an argument ages ago thinking of all the things he could say if this situation happened.
and you never thought it would, but luckily the gods or whatever above heard the constant plea of your heart.
âi can't keep a job because i'm a werewolf, (y/n) please think of what you're saying for a second-...â you interrupted him.
âyou could say your face will turn green every night and i wouldn't care. please, just give me one chance.â you said, almost in a whisper. a sweet plea for him to spare your heart.
remus thought you were a beautiful woman, brave, ambitious and oddly astute. an intelligence made for chaos and not exactly for books, but he knew better than to ruin you and in his eyes just even trying to date you would feel like setting on fire to your promising life.
he was a monster, fearful that his lycanthropy could hurt you or affect you forever, not to mention he was frightened that his children could end up being cursed like him.
but then he looked at you, so willing to have him, so in love and he felt his heart melting.
maybe you could try, right? just a try.
âi-...â remus began to say. âi think we can try.â
you sighed in relief as you got closer to him, your chest almost touching his.
his smell clouded your mind the same way it did years ago and you knew in your insides that if you someone put amortentia in fron of you, you would feel his scent as you once did: chocolate, parchment, coffee, old book pages. the smell of autumn itself.
his eyes, his voice, his smell, all of him provoked your chest to feel like it was about to explode, enchanting your mind like if some sort of love spell was being casted on your soul.
and now, he was yours. all yours.
one of your wildest dreams came true, and you knew your heart needed to seal the moment the best way you could. there was a gift, an offering to be made at the altar of your love.
there was something you never dared to give anyone else before, because no man was like him.
âyou know, i saved something special for a moment like this.â the confession came out of your lips as you grabbed his face to lure him like a beautiful nymph and make him lean into your direction.
and even if he didn't say anything. your words hit remus straight on the face, twisting his guts and he just couldn't believe how nervous he was.
when his eyes looked at you as you grabbed his face and got closer, to him you looked divine just as a superior being could be.
in the moment you kissed him, it was a sweet kiss that made remus shiver from head to toe and take his hands to your waist almost like if you were made of glass.
the first time you kissed someone and it was him. it felt like you were putting a blessing on his soul, fixing even if it was just fo a second, the damage of his eternal curse.
remus wondered if he was the one who would fell in love deeper, noticing the control you had over him just with a kiss, how he suddenly could fall to his knees if you asked.
the soft exchange between your lips ended when a voice interrupted you both.
âfor merlin's beard, moony.â sirius voice spoke from the doorframe. as remus avoided his look ashamed, you looked at him a bit irritated for interrupting. âdon't look at me like that, (y/n). i didn't expected to find people kissing inside my kitchen when i came here to drink water.â he smirked, mocking you both
after a couple of seconds you laughed at his words, and remus followed you. the first fifteen minutes into this uncommon thing you had and you were already laughing at sirius together.
remus felt relieved and for a moment he believed that any difficulties you could have, you'll both be able to work it out together.
maybe it didn't matter if he was a werewolf or if you were this younger, or if he was frightened to hurt you.
because maybe remus wasn't as cursed as he thought.
i hope you enjoyed this, i spent DAYS writing it and im glad i got to release it for halloween!!! xoxo.

I like to think that because Snape rarely shows skin aside from his hands and face, that to everyone else every little sliver of Bare Sneepâą seems outrageously scandalous and lewd. Severus Snape has no idea whatsoever that the tiniest slip of his sleeve to expose the tiniest bit of his wrist gets the entire wizarding population scandalized and flustered, like a bunch of Victorian fools seeing a woman's ankle for the first time.

The air in the Hogwarts greenhouse was thick with the scent of soil and herbs as Y/N moved gently through the rows of plants. She had always found comfort here, among the vibrant greenery and the soft hum of magical growth. Herbology was her sanctuary, and each day she poured her heart into tending to the rare plants and teaching her students how to care for them with the same tenderness.
It was peaceful, or at least, it had been until recently.
As of late, her tranquility had been invaded by a certain new presence at the schoolâGilderoy Lockhart, the newly appointed Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. His arrival had caused quite the stir, especially among the female students and even some of the staff, but for Y/N, his constant attention was becoming more than a little uncomfortable.
At first, she had thought it was just harmless friendliness. Lockhart had swept into her greenhouse on the first week of term, his toothy smile gleaming as brightly as the medals on his robes.
"My dear Professor Y/N!" he had exclaimed, clasping his hands together in a gesture that was all too theatrical. "I must say, you have the most enchanting little space here! Itâs no wonder the students speak so highly of you."
Y/N had blushed, embarrassed by the attention, and murmured something about the plants deserving the praise, not her. Lockhart, however, had waved away her modesty with a laugh that echoed too loudly in the intimate confines of the greenhouse.
"Nonsense, nonsense! I can see that you put as much care into your work as I do into my own," he said, leaning in just a little too close. "You and I, we have much in common, I think."
She had smiled politely, trying not to shrink under his overly familiar presence. She wasnât used to people being so forward with her. It wasnât that she was obliviousâY/N had noticed Lockhartâs flirtationsâbut she simply didnât know how to respond. Confrontation wasnât in her nature, and she didnât want to create awkwardness among the staff. So, she had smiled, and tried to extricate herself from his attention as gracefully as she could.
But it didnât stop there.
Lockhartâs visits to the greenhouse became more frequent. He would find reasons to come by during her lessons, interrupting her with flamboyant anecdotes about his supposed adventures. The students would giggle or roll their eyes, but Y/N found herself growing more and more uneasy. His compliments had become more pointed, more personal, always accompanied by a lingering touch on her arm or a too-familiar smile.
"Professor Y/N," Lockhart had said one afternoon, as he appeared at her greenhouse once more, his robes billowing dramatically behind him. "I was just telling the Headmaster how much we make the perfect team, you and I. Perhaps we should write a book together! Herbs and Heroics, donât you think? It would sell like that." He snapped his fingers, leaning toward her again.
Y/Nâs discomfort had risen, her hands twisting nervously around a sprig of dittany. "IâIâm really not a writer, Professor Lockhart. I donât thinkâ"
"Nonsense!" he interrupted, his tone dripping with charm. "With your knowledge of plants and my experience, weâd make quite the pair. Donât you think?"
His hand brushed her shoulder as he spoke, and Y/N stiffened slightly. She gave a weak smile, hoping heâd take the hint, but once again, she found herself trapped by her own politeness. She didnât want to upset him, didnât want to cause a scene, but Merlin, how she wished he would leave her alone.
Across the castle, in the dimly lit Potions classroom, Severus Snape stood over a cauldron, stirring the mixture with precise movements, though his mind was far from the task at hand.
For weeks now, he had been watching. Watching as Lockhart fawned over Y/N, as he invaded her personal space with that nauseating smile and those absurd stories. It was infuriating. Severus had always been protective of Y/Nâmore than he would ever admit. They had worked together for years now, and though their relationship had never ventured beyond professional, he had long harbored feelings for her that he kept buried deep inside.
He had always told himself that Y/N deserved better than him, better than someone as broken and cold as he was. She was kind, too kind for the likes of him. So, he had never acted on his feelings, content to watch from the sidelines, to enjoy the small moments when they shared quiet conversations about rare herbs or discussed the latest potions ingredients she had gathered for him.
But now, with Lockhart constantly hovering around her, Severus found his resolve crumbling.
At first, he had tried to ignore it. Lockhart was a buffoon, and surely Y/N would see through his ridiculous posturing soon enough. But day after day, Severus watched as Lockhart showered her with attention, and worst of all, Y/N didnât reject him. She didnât push him away. She didnât seem to be upset by his advances.
And that was what hurt the most.
Perhaps, Severus thought bitterly, she liked Lockhartâs attention. Perhaps she enjoyed the compliments, the flirtation. Why wouldnât she? Lockhart was everything Severus wasnâtâcharming, outgoing, and confident. And while Severus could see through the manâs facade, perhaps Y/N couldnât.
Perhaps she was falling for him.
The thought sent a cold wave of pain through Severus, and he found himself withdrawing from Y/N more and more. It was easier that way. Easier to distance himself before he had to watch her fall into Lockhartâs arms. He started avoiding her, no longer lingering in the staffroom when she entered, no longer stopping by her greenhouse to ask for ingredients. He couldnât bear it. Couldnât bear to watch her be swept away by someone so unworthy of her, and yet⊠someone she seemed to be accepting.
Y/N had noticed the change almost immediately.
Severus was avoiding her.
For weeks now, he had been cold, distant, and she couldnât understand why. She had always admired Severus, despite his stern demeanor and cutting remarks. There was something about him that intrigued her, something deeper, and over the years, she had come to value the rare moments when he let his guard down, even if just for a second.
But now, it was as if he had built a wall between them. She couldnât even catch his eye in the hallways, and whenever she tried to speak to him, he dismissed her with a curt nod or a sharp word. It hurt more than she cared to admit. She missed him, missed their quiet conversations and the way he would surprise her with his vast knowledge of plants and potions.
At first, she thought she had done something to upset him, but no matter how many times she went over their last conversations, she couldnât find anything wrong. It wasnât until she saw the way Severusâs eyes flickered with something close to anger when he caught her speaking with Lockhart that she began to piece it together.
Could it be⊠jealousy?
The thought was almost too much to believe. Severus, jealous of Lockhart? The idea seemed absurd, and yet, the more she thought about it, the more sense it made. She had seen the way his expression darkened when Lockhart was near, the way his jaw clenched whenever the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor tried to engage her in conversation.
But if Severus was upset, he wasnât going to tell her. He was too stubborn for that.
So, after weeks of being brushed aside, Y/N decided she needed to confront him. She couldnât take the cold distance anymore, and if he was angry with her, she needed to know why.
One evening, after a particularly long day in the greenhouse, Y/N made her way down to the dungeons. She had seen Severus slip out of the Great Hall after dinner, his usual shadowy presence retreating into the depths of the castle. She followed him, her heart pounding in her chest with nerves, but she was determined to get answers.
She found him in his office, sitting behind his desk, a quill in hand as he scrawled something into a large, leather-bound book. He didnât look up when she knocked softly on the doorframe.
"Severus," she said quietly, stepping into the room.
He didnât respond at first, his eyes remaining fixed on the parchment before him.
"Severus," she repeated, a little more firmly.
With a sigh of irritation, he finally glanced up, his dark eyes cold and unreadable. "What do you want, Y/N?"
Y/N hesitated, her fingers twisting nervously together. "I⊠I need to know why youâve been avoiding me."
Severusâs expression didnât change. He set his quill down, leaning back in his chair with a look of cool indifference. "I donât know what youâre talking about."
"Yes, you do," Y/N pressed, stepping closer to his desk. "Youâve been avoiding me for weeks now, and I donât understand why. Did I do something to upset you?"
He let out a harsh laugh, though there was no humor in it. "Upset me? No, Y/N, you didnât upset me. I simply have no interest in wasting my time with someone like you."
The words hit her like a physical blow, and she took a step back, her eyes widening in hurt and confusion. "Someone like me? What does that mean?"
Severusâs gaze was sharp, his voice colder than she had ever heard it. "You know exactly what it means. Iâve seen the way you prance around with Lockhart, letting him fawn over you like some lovesick puppy. Clearly, you enjoy the attention."
Y/Nâs heart clenched painfully in her chest. "IâSeverus, itâs not like that. I donâtâ"
But he cut her off, his words laced with bitterness. "Donât insult my intelligence, Y/N. Iâve seen how you let him flirt with you, how you blush and smile like a schoolgirl..I donât have time for someone like you. If you enjoy Lockhartâs company so much, then by all means, continue. But donât expect me to waste my time on someone who canât even see past his ridiculous charm."
Y/N felt tears prick at the corners of her eyes, the weight of his cruel words crushing her. She had never seen Severus like this, so angry, so hurt. She opened her mouth to speak, to defend herself, but the words wouldnât come. All she could do was stand there, frozen in place, as Severusâs cold gaze bore into her.
When she finally found her voice, it was barely a whisper. "I never wanted his attention, Severus. Iâve only everâ"
"Enough," Severus snapped, standing abruptly and turning away from her. "I donât want to hear it. If you wish to continue entertaining that fool, thatâs your business. But I will not be part of it."
With that, he stormed out of the room, leaving Y/N standing there, her heart shattered and tears spilling down her cheeks. She had come for answers, but all she had found was pain.
The following days were a blur for Y/N. She avoided the staffroom, avoided Severus, and kept to herself in the greenhouse. She couldnât stop replaying their conversation in her head, his harsh words echoing painfully in her mind. I simply have no interest in wasting my time with someone like you.
She hadnât known it was possible to feel this hurt, this rejected. For the first time, she found herself dreading the start of each day, dreading the possibility of seeing Severus in the halls. The spark of happiness that usually came with her work had dimmed, replaced by a hollow sadness that seemed to follow her everywhere she went.
Even her students noticed the change in her demeanor, though they were too polite to mention it. She tried to hide her feelings, tried to put on a brave face, but it was difficult. Every time she passed Severus in the corridors, her heart ached with the memory of his words, and every time Lockhart made his usual visits to the greenhouse, she felt a wave of nausea rise in her throat.
It didnât take long for Minerva McGonagall to notice.
One afternoon, as Y/N was tending to a bed of mandrakes, Minerva appeared at the door of the greenhouse, her sharp eyes studying Y/N with a knowing look.
"Y/N," she said softly, stepping into the room. "May I have a word?"
Y/N looked up, startled, and quickly wiped her hands on her apron. "Of course, Minerva."
Minerva approached her, her expression softening as she saw the sadness in Y/Nâs eyes. "Youâve been rather quiet lately, my dear. Is everything all right?"
Y/N forced a smile, though it didnât reach her eyes. "Iâm fine, just⊠busy."
Minerva didnât seem convinced. She took a seat on one of the nearby benches, folding her hands in her lap as she spoke. "Youâve been avoiding the staffroom, and I canât help but notice that you havenât been your usual self. Is there something going on? Does it have to do with Severus?"
The mention of his name sent a sharp pang through Y/Nâs chest, and she looked away, her hands trembling slightly as she fussed with the dirt on her fingertips.
"I⊠I donât know," she admitted quietly. "I thought we were friends, but lately⊠I think Iâve upset him. He wonât talk to me anymore."
Minervaâs brow furrowed, concern flashing across her features. "I see. Severus can be⊠difficult, at times. But I know he holds you in high regard. Itâs unlike him to act this way without reason."
Y/N let out a soft sigh, her voice tinged with sadness. "I donât know what I did wrong. He said I was wasting his time, that he didnât want to deal with me anymore. And now⊠now he wonât even look at me."
Minervaâs eyes softened, and she reached out to place a comforting hand on Y/Nâs arm. "I donât believe thatâs true, my dear. Severus may not always show it, but he cares deeply for the people in his life. Whatever has caused this rift between you, I donât believe itâs something youâve done."
Y/N shook her head, her throat tightening with the weight of her emotions. "But heâs so angry with me. He thinks⊠he thinks I like Lockhart."
At the mention of Lockhartâs name, Minervaâs expression shifted into something closer to exasperation. "Lockhart? Merlin, that man has been more of a nuisance than I expected. But Severus should know better than to assume that you have any interest in him. Heâs clearly projecting his own insecurities onto you."
Y/N blinked, surprised by Minervaâs words. "You think⊠you think Severus is jealous?"
Minerva smiled faintly, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "I do, Y/N. Itâs quite obvious to those of us who know him well. Severus may not be the most forthcoming when it comes to his feelings, but itâs clear that he has feelings for you. Heâs just too proudâand too afraidâto admit it."
Y/Nâs heart skipped a beat at Minervaâs words. Could it be true? Could Severusâs coldness and bitterness be a result of jealousy?
Minerva gave her a knowing look, standing up from the bench. "I suggest you talk to him, Y/N. Really talk to him. He may not make it easy, but I think youâll find that he cares more than he lets on."
Severus paced his chambers, his mind a storm of conflicting emotions. He had hurt herâhe knew that much. The look in her eyes when he had spoken those cruel words haunted him, and yet, he couldnât stop the bitterness that had fueled his anger.
It was easier this way, he told himself. Easier to push her away before she had the chance to reject him. Easier to convince himself that she wanted someone elseâsomeone like Lockhartâthan to face the truth of his own feelings.
But the truth was becoming harder and harder to ignore.
There was a knock at the door, and Severusâs heart leapt into his throat when he saw Y/N standing there, her eyes red-rimmed but determined.
"Severus," she said, her voice soft but steady. "We need to talk."
He turned away from her, trying to compose himself, but the sight of her standing there, vulnerable and hurt, made his resolve crumble.
"Y/N, Iâ" He paused, his throat tightening with guilt. "Iâm sorry."
She stepped inside, closing the door behind her. "I donât understand, Severus. Why are you pushing me away? Why are you so angry with me?"
Severus closed his eyes, exhaling slowly. He couldnât keep lying to herânot anymore.
"Iâm not angry with you," he said finally, his voice low. "Iâm angry with myself."
Y/N frowned, stepping closer. "What does that mean?"
Severus hesitated, his fingers curling into fists at his sides. He hated thisâhated being vulnerable, hated exposing the raw, aching feelings that he had spent so long trying to bury. But he owed her the truth.
"I saw the way Lockhart was⊠pursuing you," Severus began, his voice tight. "And I thought⊠I thought you were enjoying it. That you wanted his attention. It hurt, Y/N. It hurt to think that you could fall for someone like him whenâŠ" He trailed off, unable to finish the sentence.
Y/Nâs eyes softened with understanding. "When what, Severus?"
He met her gaze, his dark eyes filled with something raw and unspoken. "When Iâve been in love with you for years."
The words hung in the air between them, heavy and vulnerable. Y/Nâs breath caught in her throat, her heart pounding in her chest.
"I never wanted his attention, Severus," she said softly, her voice trembling. "I never wanted anyoneâs attention but yours."
Severus stared at her, stunned by her words. For a moment, he couldnât speak, couldnât move. And then, slowly, he closed the distance between them, his hand trembling slightly as he reached out to cup her cheek.
"Iâm sorry," he whispered again, his voice thick with emotion. "Iâm sorry for pushing you away. Iâm sorry for hurting you."
Y/N smiled through her tears, leaning into his touch. "I forgive you, Severus."
And for the first time in what felt like forever, Severus allowed himself to hope.

Tbh I love that Snape is almost always either unusually soft spoken or screaming in the books. Most voice headcanons for him seem to come from the movies but I'm here for Snape who is diminutive except for when he's losing his fucking marbles.
#pro snape#severus snape#tbh i also dont imagine him havimg a very deep voice either#thanks to reading like 5 of the books before even seeing one movie

Accidentally deleted this post but it feels impossible to find a harry potter fic thatâs actually a harry potter character fic(ESPECIALLY harry) Itâs all either straight up smut or some random OC or background character from other fanfics. Feels like all the magic has literally just been sapped out of fan fiction. Why am i seeing Matteo and Lorenzo on another characters tag itâs so annoying.
I shouldnât have to scroll 10 times just to find a fic of the character that iâm looking for because itâs filled of smut of a character from another persons story.
It feels like people are only in it for hot men, especially when all they care about is fan casts. Whereâs the passion!!!? Whereâs the appreciation towards the actual actors?!
also marauders fans nobody likes it when you use snape tags in your fics.

I was rewatching harry potter and my god, I was just getting this feeling of really wanting to write for these menđ©
summary - you are theirs.

18+ only please, the gif I use isnât mine, divider by @newlips (deactivated)
It felt so wrong, but so right at the same time. How he pushed you against the forgotten closet door, gripping your chin between his gloved hand. Your chest moves up and down as he glares down at you. âMr Malfoy!â You gasp out, your heart beating like crazy.
Lucius grips your chin tighter, tilting your head upwards. âShh, little one. You donât want anyone to catch us, now do you?â You quickly shake your head, a soft gasp escaping past your lips as he places his slack covered knee between your thighs. âWhat a good little girl you are. Shall I say ten points to Slytherin?â His voice raspy as he whispers.
He smirks as he watches you grind down on his knee. Your eyes roll to the back of your head, this was possibly the most reckless yet thrilling thing youâve ever done. You wouldâve never expected to be screwing around with your friendâs dad, especially a married man.
Your eyes focus on him as he squeezes your chin. âPay attention, little one.â Lucius unsheathes his wand from his cane and places it against your throat, pressing it in. He watches as excitement fills your eyes. âAre you going to be our good girl?â
Your brows furrow, confused. âOur? But, Mr Malfoy there is only⊠What?â You stumble on your words, his knee pressing into your clit causing your mind to become fuzzy.
Severus steps into the light, having been watching from the shadows. âYou are correct, Miss L/n. Our girl.â You clench around nothing, watching as he stalks closer until their scent fills your mind.
Your fantasy was finally coming true.
thank you for reading!

Yan!Severus Snape vs Yan!Sirius Black w/Slytherin!Reader (platonic/romantic)
(Based off this concept)
Part 1: Severus Snape
There wasnât a single soul that Severus truly cared for other than Lily and he couldnât fathom anyone even coming close to her in his mind. But he had a change of heart when you came into his life.
In the beginning you had just been another face in the crowd at Hogwarts, but you were in the same house as him, he knew that much. Other than that he didnât give you much mind, he was too caught up with Lily after all. It hadnât been till after his fallout with her that he genuinely remembers any interaction with you. It had been during one of the many times James and his idiotic friends had seeked him out and made a fool out of him that he remembers truly noticing you.
You had come to his defense, or rather his rescue really but heâd never admit it even to this day. You threw a few jinxes their way and had them running for the hills, he couldnât remember ever laughing as much as he had when remembering that moment, if ever. Not only did you humiliate them like they had done to him countless times but the things you said about them after they ran off were just too good to forget.
Of course he had waited until he was all alone before allowing himself a fit of laughter and a small half smile at the events that heâd witnessed. You didnât look like much, heâd be honest, but you really gave James and Sirius especially a good jinxing. Since that day, Severus had made much more of an effort to pay attention to you.
After everything, you hadnât mentioned anything from that day. You hadnât even really interacted with Severus again. He was grateful of that but a small part of him wished or rather hoped that you would have talked to him, even just a measly âhelloâ. But it was for the best, at least thatâs what he told himself at first.
Eventually, Severus had started unconsciously scouring the common room for you, it if wasnât the common room then it was the sea of students making their ways through the halls. It went on a while before he actually caught himself doing it. By the time he had, Severus had already taken to walking closer to you when going to classes or even sitting nearer to you in the dining hall. He never strayed too close for comfort or for you to notice but close enough for him. The more he did it and the longer he got away with it, the bolder he got. Soon enough it became routine following you around, whether it was the library or quidditch practice, Severus was always around wherever you were. It was pretty easy given being part of the same house. It would have been even easier if you two were in the same dorm as well but he didnât mind just waiting for you in the common room.
Heâs completely thrown for a loop when one day you confront him about his behavior. He was under the impression that he had been very subtle in his endeavors, that was his mistake. You deserved much more credit then he first thought, you were a fellow snake after all. Severus did have every intention of talking to you eventually but he wanted to get a feel for who you were before he did invest himself fully into being more than mere housemates or even acquaintances. He wanted to know what you were all about, what he would be getting himself into before taking the plunge. That was reasonable, wasnât it? He canât really put his finger on the exact reason why he was acting the way he was. He had only recently caught himself doing it at all but he supposed there had to have been an answer, he just didnât know what it was yet.
Honestly, Severus would be completely taken aback once heâs realized what heâs been doing all this time, finally settling in exactly how long heâs been sticking just a little too close to you. Why was he acting like this? This certainly wasnât the norm for him, at least not regarding someone who wasnât Lily. Was that it? Was he just using you as a replacement for Lily? Or was it something more than that? Did he genuinely want a, dare he say, friendship with you? Was he really willing to open himself up to someone else like that? Well, it had to be something like that otherwise why would he bother doing everything that he was. Even if it was âunconsciouslyâ.
From then, Severus and you had become more openly acquainted with one another. He wasnât quite ready to call you a friend yet, hell he probably never would, at least not vocally and out in the open. But in his mind thatâs exactly what you were. You were his friend, a real friend. You werenât like the other Slytherins, your interactions werenât based off appearances, status, or anything of that sort. It was easy for him to be around you, unlike everyone else. He didnât have to pretend or put in any unnecessary effort, something he was quite appreciative of. You didnât ask anything of him, you didnât expect anything of him and it was nice.
He wasnât exactly the talkative type early on and even later he still wasnât but he talked more in your company than he ever did with anyone else and that was definitely saying something. Even with Lily. And he could speak about whatever when he was with you, even if you didnât necessarily agree with him, but you didnât have to and thatâs one of the biggest things he found himself enjoying in your friendship acquaintanceship. Neither of you had to agree with the other to be friends, you didnât have to exactly be on the same page to still be around one another.
After getting to be around you more openly, Severus had truly grown accustomed to it. It became more of a discomfort and oddity for him not to be near your side on the rare occasions he wasnât. And he despised it. It made him feel vulnerable and left out in the open. But he could tolerate it, for a time. But the second he was able to reclaim his place near you again he was back to feeling content. It hadnât really been made apparent to him just how much he detested other people around you; talking to you, having your attention on them. Even if they were merely standing or sitting near you without so much as taking up any of your time or energy. He didnât know why, he didnât even really know how long that had become an issue in the first place but it very much so was and now he was well aware of it.
Severus especially had a hard time when it came to students from other houses taking up your time and attention. He could be tolerable towards his fellow Slytherins (to an extent) but when it came to anyone, especially the Gryffindors, something deep inside him would make itself known. Particularly regarding a certain few, especially a certain pureblood mutt.
Severus couldnât believe how long it had taken him to pick up on it but it was right there in front of him. It seemed as though that fateful day you had defended him and garnered his attention, you also piqued the attention of someone else. Someone much more annoying and infuriatingly stubborn.

I drew this when I was in a deep state of sadness and depression. It raises a big question: does creating sad art help in dealing with negative emotions? On one hand, this kind of creativity allows me to pay attention to my feelings, to experience them, and to dedicate time to them without rejecting them. On the other hand, creating such a piece is a lengthy process, and at that time I was just learning to use a graphics tablet. I remember that it was really hard for me to finish this workâI had almost no energy left by the end. Take care of yourselves!

Sex Pollen || Severus Snape
Synopsis - You come across some sex pollen in the herbology greenhouse. Not knowing what it is, you take it to your colleague, Severus Snape, to inspect.
Warnings - NSFW.
Note - Reader is 18+!
Word Count - 2.3k.
[Caffeinate Me]
You were a Professor at Hogwarts, newly graduated yourself and ready to teach the students all you had learnt at your time at the school for young witches and wizards. You were helping Pomona Sprout clean up the Herbology Greenhouses one day after a particularly messy class of first years when you stumbled across a vial of something you had never come across before. You turned to Pomona and looked at her quizzically, âwhatâs this?â you asked.Â
Pomona looked as confused as you were as you held the vial up to the light pouring through the Greenhouse windows. âIâm⊠not quite sure,â she replied. âBe a dear and take it to Severus, see if he knows what it is?â
You nodded, gulping slightly. You see, you had developed a sort of âcrushâ on your old potions Professor and that felt strange to you, especially since you were now his colleague. âIâll be right back,â you announced before turning around on your heel and slowly walking to the dungeons where you knew Severus would be. On your way, you took several deep breaths trying your hardest to collect your thoughts and keep your feelings in check.Â
Eventually, you arrived at the dungeons. Standing outside the potions classroom, you took your final deep breath before knocking on the door. As soon as you knocked, you wanted to run away, but you grasped the vial in your hand tightly and remained still. âEnter,â came his gruff voice from behind the door. You expected to see a classroom full of children, but instead you were greeted with just Severus, sitting down behind his desk. He looked up at you and nodded in acknowledgement as you entered before looking down at the parchment on his desk. Slowly, you made your way into the dimly lit room taking in the faint aroma of potions that had been brewed recently. When you reached the desk, you shakily placed the vial of unknown contents in front of Severus and smiled down at him awkwardly.Â
âPomona and I donât know what this is,â you said, voice wavering slightly. âWe were hoping youâd be able to enlighten us.â
Severus looked at the bottle before picking it up to inspect it closer. He looked puzzled as his eyes scrunched to look closer at the contents of the liquid. It was clear in colour and could have been a number of things. Severus placed the bottle on the edge of the desk and simply shrugged. âCould be a few things,â he drawled.Â
You nodded, taking in his words. âCould you find out what it is?â You asked, tilting your head to the side.Â
âOf course I could find out what it is,â Severus said, his tone hinting offence. âBut it will take some time.âÂ
âI have time,â you replied with a shrug, looking down at the potions Professor. Your heart picked up its pace as Severus looked you up and down before turning his attention away from the parchment and back to the mysterious vial on his desk. He pushed his chair away from the desk and stood up, towering over you. Your breath hitched in your throat lightly as he brushed past you and made his way over to the cauldron in the middle of the room, mysterious vial in his hand. As he opened up the vial, ready to pour some of the clear liquid into the cauldron, a cloud of what appeared to be pollen sprung up from the contents hitting Severus square in the face. He quickly closed his eyes as the pollen hit him in the face before they widened when he realised what it was. âWhat is that?â You asked, disgust lacing your voice as Severus quickly placed the lid back on the vial.Â
âSex pollen,â Severus replied, eyes still wide.Â
âIâm sorry, what?â You asked with a slight stutter.Â
âSex pollen,â he repeated, gritting his teeth. He turned to put the vial on a shelf before turning back to grip the cauldron with his hands, knuckles turning white with the amount of pressure he was gripping with.
âSeverus, are you okay?â You asked, slightly concerned.Â
âYou need to leave,â he snapped to you, eyes still closed as he grasped the cauldron harder.Â
âIâm not leaving until I know youâre okay,â you said stubbornly, folding your arms across your chest.Â
âIâm fine,â he snapped again, a slight moan tumbling from his lips as he spoke.Â
âYouâre clearly not fine,â you said.Â
You walked over to Severus and placed your hand on his shoulder, turning him around to face you. When he turned, his eyes opened and you saw his pupils had dilated a crazy amount, his orbs holding an emotion you had never seen from your old potions Professor before. Lust. You looked him up and down, noticing the slight twitching in his body as he moved.Â
âLeave!â He yelled at you, pointing towards the closed classroom door with a long, slender finger.Â
âNo,â you replied. âI have to help you⊠Somehow,â you muttered to yourself.Â
âThereâs no helping the situation right now,â Severus groaned, his eyes rolling into the back of his head slightly as he spoke. âThe effects will pass in a few hours and everything will be fine. Just go back to Pomona and tell her that I will be keeping the vial for further inspection.âÂ
âBut you already know what it is-â You started.Â
âAnd I cannot allow you to return back to the Greenhouses with it,â he snapped. His voice was strained, a hint of desperation evident.Â
âIâm not leaving you right now,â you said. âI have to help you, maybe thereâs some kind of potion I can create to counter the effectsâŠâ
Severus shook his head. âThereâs only one known cure for this pollen.â
âGreat! I can make it and youâll be fine,â you said, a smile gracing your lips. Your eyes held a spark of determination as you spoke.Â
âItâs a natural remedy,â Severus replied, his eyes gazing up and down your body. He was checking you out. Â
âWell what is it?â You asked, raising an eyebrow.Â
âFuck me,â he spat out, his eyes widening as soon as the words left his lips.Â
Your own eyes widened. âExcuse me?âÂ
Severus grasped your shoulders and looked directly into your eyes, forcing a pale blush to sneak onto your cheeks. âI said fuck me.â Without another second of silence, or a wait for your reply, Severus smashed his lips against your own. You let out a squeal of confusion as you stumbled back against his desk as Severusâ hands began to roam your body desperately. You wanted to fight him off, but this was a dream come true. You quickly melted into the kiss, kissing back with as much vigour as he was. Your hands wrapped around his neck and your fingers intertwined themselves with his black hair, tugging slightly. A moan fell from Severusâ lips as he bucked his hips against yours roughly. It was then that you felt his erection straining against his trousers, twitching at the thought of you underneath him. A hand trailed up your shirt and made its way to your breasts, squeezing them roughly and forcing a moan to fall from your own lips.Â
âSeverus,â you whimpered as his hands fell from underneath your shirt and began to tug at the buttons, basically ripping your shirt off of your torso. When your shirt was off, Severusâ lips trailed down to your neck biting down at the sensitive flesh leaving a trail of wet kisses to your shoulder. The pleasure was consuming him, his body was hot to the touch and it was overwhelming. Severus Snape had never felt anything like this before. His fingertips trailed your soft body as he continued kissing at your shoulder, hands stopping at the waistband of your long skirt. In one swift motion, your skirt was pooling around your ankles leaving you in nothing but your underwear in front of your old potions Professor. Severus took a step back, taking in your beauty as he unzipped his trousers, not bothering to remove his clothes. He was speechless. His mind was spinning. All he could think about right now was the release that he was aching for.Â
You watched with wide eyes as Severus pumped his cock, pre-cum drooling from the slit. You bit your lip as anticipation filled your body. âTurn around,â he groaned, grasping your hair tightly between his fingers and forcing you to turn around facing his desk. You let out a soft whimper as your body was moved to rest against the desk, bending over it. Severus fingers danced along the waistband of your underwear before he ripped them off your body, the ripped lace fabric falling to the floor in two parts. You gasped as the cool dungeon air hit your core and shivered as your body adjusted to the temperature change. You didnât even get a chance to process what was happening before Severus thrust himself inside of you in one motion.Â
âOh Gods,â you whimpered, grasping the edge of the desk as Severus fully bottomed out inside of you. His hips immediately began moving against yours with sharp, hard thrusts. Gasps emitted from your mouth with each harsh movement Severus made, his hips snapping against yours viciously as he desperately sought after his release.Â
âYouâre so tight,â Severus growled into your ear, his grasp on your hair tightening as his movements sped up. âFuck it feels so good.âÂ
You couldnât reply with words. Instead you just nodded your head as Severusâ free hand worked its way to your throat, squeezing lightly. The sounds of your squelching wetness echoed through the classroom and it was only turning you on more as you gripped the edge of the desk with all you had. His hips stuttered slightly as you pressed your backside against him harder, silently begging for more. Your senses were overwhelmed with pleasure as you felt your release edge closer, a hand falling from the edge of the desk to your clit as your fingers began to play with the bundle of nerves between your legs. âSeverus,â you gasped, eyes widening. âIâm going to cum!â
Severus just grunted in response, his hips never faltering their movements as your walls clenched around his cock, squeezing him tightly. It all happened so fast and before you knew it, you were cumming around his member, walls fluttering with pleasure as your eyelids began to flutter from the pleasure. âShit,â Severus growled, his hand fell from your hair and your throat as he grasped your hips tightly and continued to pound against you. He was desperately chasing his release, his mind not even focused on your pleasure. He just wanted to cum, needed to cum. His cock twitched inside of you as your velvety walls continued to spasm around him from your release as moans tumbled from your lips. They bounced off the walls and it seemed to push Severus over the edge. âFuck Iâm cumming,â he whined, hips stuttering once more as his cum spurted from the head of his cock and deep inside of you. A string of loud, erotic moans left his lips as he came, his body shaking violently as he continued to fuck his load into your womb. Your eyes widened as load after load was spilled inside of you.Â
When he had finally finished cumming, Severus pulled out of you slowly with a popping sound and groan from his lips. He looked down at you as the lust subsided, guilt and shame taking over his mind and body. âIâm⊠Sorry,â he whispered, tucking his still erect cock back into his trousers.Â
You were confused as you turned to look at him, both of you were panting and trying to catch your breath in the awkward silence. âWhy are you sorry?â You asked, picking your skirt up from around your ankles and shirt off the floor.Â
âI didnât mean for that to happen,â Severus replied, turning his face away from you. His cheeks were flushed red from his release and from embarrassment.Â
âYou couldnât help it,â you said, trying your best to make him feel better. âIâm just glad I was able to help you at least.â You smiled at him softly and put your shirt on before walking up to him and placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. He flinched at the contact and looked into your eyes. When his eyes met yours he was immediately filled with feelings he hadnât felt in so long. Comfort. Longing. Love. Whether it was the endorphins from the aftermath of the sex or real feelings, he was unsure, only time would tell.Â
Severus paused for a moment, thinking of what to say. âThank you,â he eventually said, voice hoarse.Â
âDonât mention it,â you whispered back to him, a smile still plastered on your lips.Â
âYou should head back to Pomona. Tell her Iâll be doing some tests on the vial to figure out what it is. Meanwhile, Iâll dispose of the pollen properly,â Severus said as he straightened up his posture, demeanour returning to his stern, stoic one. You nodded in understanding as you smoothed your hair out, hoping to make yourself look presentable before you headed back to the Greenhouses. You turned on your heels as you walked towards the classroom door but was stopped by Severus once more. âY/N?âÂ
âYes?â You asked, turning around to face him.Â
âDonât mention this to anybody,â he said, eyebrows narrowing.Â
âWouldnât dream of it, Professor,â you said with a sly grin before making your way out of the potions classroom. You slowly made your way back to the Greenhouses, Severusâ cum trickling down your thighs as you walked. You wondered where this left the two of you and how awkward your meetings would be from now on. After all, you were colleagues now. Only time would tell what would happen next, but you were both nervous and excited to find out. When you arrived back at the Greenhouses, you told Pomona that Severus would be doing some tests on the vial to figure out what the clear liquid was and to that, she just nodded and thanked you for all your help. You were dismissed for the day and made your way back to your quarters to process all that had happened.

I feel like no one ever talks about the fact that Snape canonically has a cute nickname, like he is literally called âSevâ by his best friend. We donât even need to come up with our own nicknames for him in fanfics because itâs already canon. He got called Sev for at least 6-7 years of his life by his best friend, how cute is that??
#like thatâs acc adorable#just imagine rereading the first hp book and knowing that professor snape was nicknamed ââsevââ#love that the snapedom doesnât even need to come up with a universally accepted nickname for snape bc WE ALREADY HAVE ONE#funnily enough i realised this while talking to a snape anti#we were discussing the marauders fandom and they were calling the marauders by their actual names and i was just there calling snape ââsevââ#severus snape#pro snape#pro severus snape#snape#snape fandom#harry potter#hp

---
Professor Y/N L/N loved the quiet, the calm of the Hogwarts greenhouse. The smell of damp earth and the soft rustle of leaves were her comfort. It was a sanctuary, a place where she could lose herself in the careful tending of magical plants, and a place where she could allow her thoughts to wander â especially to him.
Severus Snape.
She didnât quite know when it had happened, or how it had grown so deeply rooted in her heart, but somewhere between the late-night faculty meetings, the shared glances in the staff room, and the way his voice lingered just a bit longer than necessary when addressing her, Y/N had found herself hopelessly in love with him.
It was ridiculous, really. She, the soft-spoken Herbology professor, with her love for nature and her quiet kindness, had fallen for the cold, brooding Potions Master. He was a man of sharp words, dark eyes, and a demeanor so cold it could freeze the very air around him. His silences spoke volumes, and his gaze could pierce you, if you werenât careful.
Yet despite the distance, despite his icy exterior, she had tried. Tried, again and again, to show him that she was different. That she could be something more. That she cared. But he didn't seem to notice.... Or at least pretended not to....
--
It was a Tuesday morning, and Y/N was working diligently in the greenhouse, tending to the mandrakes. The plants had been quite active lately, and their cries were always a challenge. She hummed softly as she carefully repotted one of the mandrakes, the soft clink of her trowel against the ceramic pot soothing in the otherwise quiet room.
She hadnât heard him approach.
"Professor L/N," came his voice, low and familiar.
Y/Nâs heart stuttered. She straightened quickly, wiping her hands on her apron, trying to hide the flutter of nervousness in her chest.
"Professor Snape," she said, smiling a little too brightly. "I didnât hear you come in. How can I help you?"
His black robes swished around him as he stepped into the greenhouse, his eyes narrowing slightly as they scanned the plants. His gaze flicked over the mandrakes, the fanged geraniums, the bubotubers. He was a master of his craft, of course, but the world of Herbology wasnât one he usually paid attention to. Y/N couldnât help but feel a rush of warmth when he stood so close.
"Iâm just inspecting your work," he said, his tone sharp but not unkind. "Youâve been⊠diligent."
She nodded eagerly, pleased by his praise, though she wasnât sure if it was meant as one. "Iâm always happy to share what I know, Professor Snape. Perhaps I could show you some of the moreâ"
"No need." His voice was clipped, dismissive. "You are doing fine. Just make sure the plants donât become too⊠unruly."
She bit her lip, her smile faltering, but she kept her voice steady. "Of course. Iâll keep an eye on them. Would you like to join me for a cup of tea after your rounds? Iâve been experimenting with a new blend of chamomile and valerian root. Itâs quite calming."
The words hung in the air between them like a delicate thread, fragile and vulnerable.
Severus Snape didnât respond immediately. His eyes flicked over her face, as if searching for something in her expression. His lips were thin, his brow furrowed slightly.
"I do not have time for tea, miss Y/L/N." His tone softened, but it was still cold. "I suggest you spend more time with your plants than offering tea to your colleagues."
She blinked, feeling a pang of hurt pierce her chest, though she quickly masked it with a polite nod. "Of course. I understand. Maybe some other time, then."
He didnât say anything more. He simply turned and walked away, his black robes sweeping behind him like a shadow.
Y/N stood in the middle of the greenhouse, staring after him, her heart sinking. It had been the same every time.
A week had passed since that encounter in the greenhouse. The morning had been busy with classes, and now Y/N found herself in the staff room, going through some notes and preparing for the afternoon lesson. It was always the same. She would prepare, she would smile, and yet the reactions from Severus were always cold.
Her thoughts were interrupted when the door opened, and Severus stepped into the room. His black eyes flickered over her, but he didnât speak. He didnât need to. They both knew why he was here â the weekly staff meeting was starting soon.
Y/N straightened and greeted him with a polite smile, as always. "Good afternoon, Severu. How was your morning?"
He gave her a curt nod. "Uneventful."
The silence stretched between them, thick and uncomfortable. Y/N had tried to fill it once with a conversation about a rare plant she had recently discovered, but he had barely acknowledged it. His eyes were always distant, always elsewhere.
She didnât know why she kept trying. Why she kept hoping that one day, he might see her. That he might realize that she wasnât just another colleague, another face in the crowd. She didnât know why she thought her kindness might be enough to break through the fortress heâd built around himself.
But despite it all, she kept trying.
As the staff meeting started, she sat across from him, her attention on the various discussions about upcoming events, but her thoughts were elsewhere â on him. Always on him. His sharp profile, the way his fingers drummed on the armrest of his chair, the occasional glance in her direction.
She could feel his eyes on her at times, though she couldnât be sure if it was just her imagination. She didnât have the courage to look up and meet his gaze, but she always felt the weight of it, a silent pressure.
A few days later, after another failed attempt to make him notice her â a carefully chosen compliment, a smile, a lingering look â Y/N had had enough. She had poured her heart into her attempts, trying to show him that she wasnât like the others. That she could understand him, if only he would let her. But he wouldnât.
He wouldnât let anyone in.
It was a quiet night in the castle, and Y/N found herself walking through the hallways toward her quarters. She had spent the entire day in the greenhouse, putting in extra hours, hoping to take her mind off the frustration of the past few weeks.
The door to her room creaked as she entered, and the warmth of the fire that crackled in the hearth greeted her. She closed the door softly behind her, leaning against it for a moment, her heart heavy.
She had tried. She had been so kind, so patient, so open. But Severus would never look at her the way she had hoped.
Tears stung her eyes, though she didnât let them fall. She wiped her face quickly, determined not to let the hurt consume her. She wasnât going to chase someone who couldnât even acknowledge her efforts.
No more trying.
The next day, Y/N was different. She kept to herself more than usual, focusing entirely on her work, her plants, the students. She had stopped making any attempt to speak with Severus, stopped offering him tea or trying to catch his eye.
And it didnât take long for Severus to notice.
He wasnât sure when it started. At first, he thought it was a fleeting thing, just another mood, another oddity in her usual demeanor. But when the days stretched into a week, and he saw her pulling away from him more and more, it began to gnaw at him.
He didnât understand it.
Why did her absence bother him so much? Why did the sight of her avoiding him, walking past him without so much as a glance, make something in his chest tighten in a way he couldnât explain?
He found himself watching her from afar, noting the way she no longer lingered in the staff room, no longer made small talk, no longer gave him those tentative smiles. The warmth that had always seemed to radiate from her was gone.
It bothered him more than he cared to admit.
Severus sat alone in his office late one night, the flickering candlelight casting long shadows across the stone walls. His mind was racing, and for once, the calm, measured pace of his thoughts seemed to have been interrupted by something⊠something unexpected.
Y/N.
Her absence.
Why did it matter? Why did it hurt?
He had spent years perfecting the art of indifference, of never allowing himself to feel anything that could be used against him. And yet, here he was, unable to focus, unable to keep his mind from wandering back to her.
The way her eyes sparkled when she spoke about her plants. The soft way she laughed. The way she cared for things. For him, in ways he couldnât understand.
It was then, in the quiet solitude of his office, that Severus Snape realized something that terrified him.
He missed her.
And he had no idea how to fix it.
Severus Snape sat in his darkened office, staring into the flickering flames of the hearth, his mind a turbulent sea. The realization that he had been ignoring Y/Nâs feelings â that he had pushed her away in his usual cold, dismissive manner â had only just hit him, and the weight of it was suffocating. He had been too absorbed in his own self-imposed isolation, too locked away in his fortress of bitterness and skepticism, to notice what had been so painfully clear to everyone else.
Y/N was gone.
Her warmth had disappeared from the corridors, from the staff room, from the greenhouse. And the coldness in his heart, which he had always managed to keep at bay, now gnawed at him like a hungry animal.
But he didnât know how to fix it.
The door to his office creaked open, and Severus was momentarily startled from his thoughts. He raised his eyes, expecting to see the usual ghostly figure of one of the students needing a late-night potion or a missing assignment. Instead, it was Minerva McGonagall, her stern features softened by concern.
"Severus," she said, her tone unusually gentle, "I thought I might find you here."
"Minerva," he replied with a slight nod, though his voice was edged with weariness. "I trust there's a reason for this unannounced visit?"
Minerva didnât immediately respond. She stepped inside and closed the door behind her, her movements deliberate, and her gaze sharp as always. She had been his colleague for years, and over that time, she had come to understand him more than most. But there was something different about her today, something perceptive in the way her eyes followed his every movement, as if weighing something heavy.
"I need to speak with you, Severus," she said, her voice quieter now. "And I believe you need to hear me out."
Severus tilted his head, his interest piqued. "Iâm listening."
Minerva took a deep breath before sitting down opposite him. Her hands folded neatly in her lap as she began, carefully choosing her words.
"I've noticed the way things have been between you and Y/N lately," she started, her gaze steady but soft. "And Iâm sure youâve noticed, too. Sheâs been⊠distant not only to you but to everyone."
Severus stiffened, his chest tightening. "I hadnât noticed," he replied, though even to his own ears, the words sounded hollow. He had noticed of course. How could he not? The absence of her smile, the quiet that surrounded her every time they crossed paths â it was impossible to ignore. He had simply been too afraid to confront it.
Minervaâs gaze softened with an almost imperceptible sigh. "Of course you noticed, Severus. But I donât think you understand why sheâs been avoiding you."
He frowned, his brows knitting together. "She has her reasons, no doubt. But if itâs something about my behavior, then itâs none of your concern."
Minerva leaned forward slightly, her voice dropping to a quieter, more direct tone. "Maybe not but it is your concern, Severus. Y/N has been avoiding you because sheâs finally given up. She cares about you more than you realize â more than youâve ever given her credit for. Sheâs been trying to show you that for months."
Severus recoiled slightly, as if struck. "What are you talking about?"
Minervaâs eyes softened, though there was an unmistakable firmness to her words. "Y/N is not the kind of person to wear her heart on her sleeve. But sheâs a kind woman, a generous soul, and sheâs been trying, in her own quiet way, to get your attention. Sheâs been patient, thoughtful, and kind, always offering you small gestures â a smile, an invitation, a word of encouragement â things she knew you needed, even if you didnât ask for them. But you never noticed. Youâve always been so consumed by your own⊠distance, your own walls, that you failed to see how much she cared for you."
Severus felt something twist inside of him, sharp and painful. He thought of all the times he had dismissed her, all the times he had pushed her away. The little moments, the fleeting glances, the kindness she had shown him without asking for anything in return. The realization hit him like a jolt of electricity â he had been blind. Completely blind.
"Sheâs given up, Severus," Minerva continued, her voice full of quiet understanding. "Sheâs stopped trying. And that⊠that is what youâre feeling now. The absence of something you took for granted. But you need to realize something â itâs not too late. If you want her to stay, if you want her to know how much you care⊠then you need to show her. You need to show her before she walks away completely."
Her words hung in the air between them, heavy and undeniable. Severusâs mind was whirling, and his stomach churned with regret. He couldnât let her go. Not like this. Not when he was finally starting to understand the depth of his own feelings.
Minerva stood up and placed a hand on his shoulder, her touch surprisingly gentle. "Donât waste any more time, Severus. Iâve seen the way you look at her when you think no oneâs watching. Youâre not as good at hiding it as you think. She deserves to know how you feel. If you donât tell her now, you may never get the chance again."
Severus nodded, his face grim but determined. He had no more excuses. He needed to act.
It was late in the evening when Severus finally made his way to the greenhouse. He had spent hours pacing his office, turning Minervaâs words over in his mind, until he had worked up the courage to do what he should have done weeks ago.
Y/N was there, as always, amidst the plants that seemed to bloom brighter in her presence. She was kneeling beside a potted plant, carefully tending to its roots, her back turned to the door.
For a moment, Severus hesitated. His heart was pounding in his chest, and for the first time in a long while, he felt vulnerable. His pride had kept him distant for so long, but now, standing in front of her, it felt like he had nothing left but the raw truth of his feelings.
"Professor L/N," he said, his voice low but steady.
Y/Nâs head snapped up in surprise. She looked at him for a long moment, her face unreadable. "Professor Snape," she replied quietly, her voice just as cold as it had been the past few weeks. "I wasnât expecting you."
He swallowed hard, forcing himself to step closer, the sound of his boots on the stone floor loud in the silence. "I owe you an apology, Y/N."
Her eyebrows furrowed slightly, and she stood, brushing her hands on her apron. "You owe me nothing, Professor."
Severus shook his head, the words rushing out before he could stop them. "No. I do owe you something. Iâve been⊠blind. Iâve ignored you, pushed you away, and Iâve been foolish. Iâve taken your kindness for granted and never once thought to reciprocate it. I never realized how much you⊠how much you meant to me." He paused, swallowing against the tightness in his throat. "You were trying, werenât you? Trying to tell me how you felt, trying to show me you cared. And Iâ"
Y/Nâs expression softened, though there was still a hint of sadness in her eyes. "Severus, you donât have to do this," she said quietly, her voice trembling slightly. "Itâs too late."
"No," he said, his voice more insistent now. "Itâs not too late. I was a fool, and Iâm sorry. I donât expect forgiveness, but I canât stand the thought of you walking away because I didnât see what was right in front of me. Please. Iâ"
Y/N took a step closer, her eyes searching his face, and for the first time in what felt like an eternity, Severus saw something in her eyes that wasnât guarded. Something warm. Vulnerable.
"You donât have to apologize," she said, her voice soft but steady. "I didnât think youâd ever see me like that. I gave up, Severus. I thought you didnât want me around."
Severus reached out, his hand hovering just in front of her as if afraid to touch her. "I was wrong. I was so wrong."
For a long moment, neither of them spoke. The only sound in the greenhouse was the soft rustling of leaves, the distant hum of magic in the air. Then, with a gentle but firm motion, Severus reached out and took her hand in his. His heart raced, and for the first time, he allowed himself to be vulnerable â to let her see what had been hidden behind the icy walls he had built for so long.
Y/Nâs gaze softened, and she squeezed his hand, her lips parting slightly as if to speak, but instead, she just looked at him â with warmth, with understanding.
And for once, Severus didnât feel alone.

Meeting with the Order of the Phoenix had always a tiresome day for Severus. While he dreaded spending the day in the home of his childhood bully and long-time enemy, Sirius Black, he was grateful for the time he was able to spend with the one woman who brought a smile to his face.
Y/N had been seeing Severus for a few months now, though they had never actually made anything official. They agreed to a casual relationship at first, but they both knew there was more to it than that. Her feelings for the wizard only grew with each passing day, but still Severus refused to admit he felt anything other than lust for the young woman.
Still, she revelled in the nights they spent together, however fleeting they seemed. It was hard for them to gain any alone time together given her less than ideal living situation with his childhood enemy coupled with the fact he refused to invite her into his home. Still, they managed to steal a few moments together here and there.
Todayâs meeting was particularly agonising for Severus, nothing of note being said that he didnât already know. Mad Eyeâs voice faded into a singular drone, as Severus leaned back lazily in his chair. His thoughts on nothing but the woman across from him. It had been too long since he had felt her hands on his body; the softness of her skin intertwining with his rough calloused hands, he missed the sweetness of her mouth on his, the sound of her gasps when his hand found its way between her legs, but he especially missed the drooling mess she became when he fucked her hard and rough, his hand covering her mouth to ensure they wouldnât make a sound.
Y/N tried hard not to look in Severusâ direction to avoid suspicion, regardless she could still feel the way his gaze raked over her body, his mind wandering to places they should not go at a time like this. A red-hot flush crept its way up her neck, the thought of Severus checking her out so publicly sent a rush straight to her core. She cleared her throat and sat up straighter, attempting to dissuade Severusâ glances. He did not take the hint.
Idly pacing around the room like a hyperactive dog, Severus couldnât help but feel irritated by the mere presence of Sirius Black in his own home, though when the man turned his attention on Y/N his blood began to boil.
Sliding up behind her, Black placed a hot mug of tea in front of Y/N; in innocent gesture from any other, but Snape knew Black always had a motive. The young witch flashed his rival a sweet smile, thanking him for her beverage. Confirming his suspicions, Sirius lingered behind Y/N resting a heavy hand on each of her shoulders, gently massaging. Severus had to hold back his primal instincts, forcing himself not to curse the man for even thinking he can touch what is his. Sirius didnât move his hands for the remainder of the meeting, neither did Severusâ gaze on them.
The meeting continued for a further forty-five minutes before its members were finally free. However, Molly Weasley had insisted she make everyone a meal before they left, so the house was particularly more crowded than normal.
Y/N shot Severus a look, telling him to meet her upstairs while everyone else seemed preoccupied with chatter. The Potionâs Master wasted no time hesitating, moving the second she gave the order, stealthily disappearing up to her bedroom.
Y/N was not so lucky in her escape. Sirius watched on closely as she swiftly exited the room.
âOh, thank God.â Y/n gasped at the sight of Snape standing in the middle of her bedroom. Closing the door she hurried towards him, throwing her hands over his head and pulling her body close to his. Instinctively Severus hands fell to her hips, though quickly began to roam when her lips met his.
Balancing on her tiptoes to match his height, she moaned into his mouth.
âGod, Iâve missed you.â
âItâs been too long.â His words were muffled by her neck as he kissed his way down to her collar bone, nipping the skin with his teeth once or twice.
She let out a single sharp gasp; the kind he loved so much and he found himself dreaming of regularly.
âHow much time do we have?â Severus rasped, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear that had gone awry.
âNot long. Molly said dinner will be out shortly.â
âWeâll have to be quick then.â
Y/N groaned at the prospect. They were forever having to rush their time together, just once she wanted to be able to savour her time with him, maybe then he would actually stick around after sex and she might have the chance to discuss their feelings for each other. As it were, the couple were resigned to hot and heavy meet ups in secret, providing Severus with the perfect excuse to keep her at armâs length.
âDonât you think we should just tell people? Iâm tired of sneaking around behind everyoneâs back.â
Severus nuzzled into the crook of her neck, sucking softly on her skin.
âWeâre not telling anyone, because there is nothing to tell. No one needs to know that weâre sleeping together, Y/N.â
She pulled away from him to look him in the eye.
âBut what if it becomes more?â
âIt wonât.â He stated firmly.
âBut ââ
âWeâve spoke about this Y/N.â
Her heart dropped despite expecting nothing less; Severus had always made his intentions with her very clear; it was foolish of Y/N to hope otherwise.
Snape made to unbuckle his belt, just as there came a knock at the door.
The pair exchanged a panicked glance.
âY/N.â Sirius called from the other side of the door. âAre you alright?â
âFine, thanks. I just came up to look for my wand.â She attempted to dissuade him.
âDo you need any help looking?â The door handle twitched under his grip.
âNo, thanks! Iâll be down in a minute.â
The door, thankfully, remained closed. Sirius footsteps faded as he made his way back down the stairs.
Severus was on her in an instant, his hands raking through her tangled mess of hair, capturing her mouth in an aggressive kiss.
Y/N moaned once more, savouring the way his tongue dominated her mouth.
âI have to go.â She sighed, reluctantly. Sirius would be expecting her back down any second, if she didnât show, he was sure to come up again.
It was Severusâ turn to groan; the tightness of his trousers had become almost too much to bear. It had been so long since their last session, and now who knows when they would next get a moment together.
âIâm sorry. Stay for dinner, I might be able to escape after that.â
Reluctantly, Severus agreed to her offer. Promising to follow shortly behind once she left.
Unsurprisingly, the kitchen was swarmed with people. Countless Weasleyâs and numerous other Order members took up the majority of seats around the table. Y/N and Sirius opted to stand on the outskirts of the table, knowing there would be plenty of left overs for them to have once everyone left. Which allowed Severus to slip into the remaining seat practically unnoticed.
Severus sat straight in his chair, arms crossed, eyes laser focused on the couple huddled on the other side of the room. Y/N and Sirius leaned against the kitchen cabinets, giggling together like a couple of school children. Snape watched as Sirius leaned into his friend, brushing aside the loose strand of hair, and whispering something in her ear. Y/N threw her head back and cackled to the sky. It occurred to Snape you had never laughed so hard at anything he had said before, sending a burning feeling of jealousy to his gut. He watched on as Y/N placed her had on the centre of Sirius chest, an attempt to steady herself from her bout of hysteria. Severus jaw clenched.
Finally able to calm herself down, Y/N stalked the length of the table, checking out the food on offer. Severus eyes followed the woman intensely until she came to a stop directly behind him.
âSomething bothering you?â She whispered in his ear, noticing the tension coursing through his body.
Severus remained silent, already wary that by standing next to each other they were exposing themselves. She could tell her relationship with Sirius pissed Severus off, but he would never admit it. If he did, he would have to tell her why it bothered him so much. And she knew he was not ready to admit to anything yet. Y/N stole a forkful of carrots from his plate and continued her round of the table.
Sirius joined the woman in her hunt for scraps, the two of them lurking around like a couple of vultures. While, Y/N was simply focused on stuffing as much food into her mouth as possible, Siriusâ attention remained solely on her. When she bent to stick her fork into a bowl of roast potatoes, Sirius rested a hand on the small of her back, keeping it there to draw her closer to him. Severus watched on furiously, his nostrils flaring at the sight. Y/N bit into a large roast potato and moaned appreciatively. Severus mind wandered to an inappropriate place and it was clear Siriusâ did the same.
âMy God, Molly, those potatoes are amazing. What did you put in them?â
Severus went deaf to the world as Y/N held her forkful of potato out for Sirius to take a bite from. He took hold of her wrist, bringing her hand up to his mouth, and made intense eye contact while he slipped the potato from its tines.
Severusâ hands balled into fists and his teeth ground together. It was everything he could do to stop himself from lashing out at the man he already despised.
Either this woman was deliberately trying to drive him mad or she truly saw nothing wrong with her actions; either option was maddening to him.
Severus almost hit his breaking point was when Sirius used his thumb to swipe a drop of gravy from the corner of Y/Nâs mouth, bringing it back to her lips to lick.
All idle chatter stopped at the sound of Snapeâs chair screeching across the hardwood floors. At risk of exposing their casual relationship, Severus stormed out of the kitchen.
Y/N wasnât shocked by his reaction. In fact, she was so close to breaking him it almost made her giddy. There was no hiding his feelings for her when this was how he reacted.
After dinner, Y/N helped Molly clear up while everyone else retired to the Livingroom. No one dared speak a word to the brooding Potionâs Master who sat stewing in a single armchair by the fire. To be honest everyone was shocked he was still here, but no one was brave enough to question it; Except Sirius.
âStill here, Snivellus? Thought youâd have slithered off back to that hovel of yours.â
âAt least Iâm able to slither anywhere, Black. You set one foot outside, and itâs straight back to Azkaban. Tell me, whoâs a better roommate? Y/N or the dementors.â
âI wouldnât say Iâm that bad, Severus.â Y/N scoffed at his comparison, shooting him a stern glare as she returned from the kitchen.
âI wasnât meaning like that.â He sighed to himself.
âDonât worry about it. Sirius and I have a good thing going here, letâs hope he wonât be returning to Azkaban any time soon, shall we?â
Severus said nothing. He hated the fact you lived with his worst enemy, but he what he hated even more was you defending Sirius over him. The sly grin on the other manâs face showed he had won this round.
Y/N perched on the arm of the chair next to Sirius, finding every other chair occupied.
âHere. Take my seat.â Severus jumped up from his spot on the armchair.
âNo need, Snivellus.â Sirius stopped Y/N in her tracks. âThereâs plenty of room for her right here.â He budged up a few inches, patting the space next to him. His gaze remained fixed on Snapes, a challenge that said whoeverâs offer you took would be the victor. Â
Eyes flicking between the two men Y/N had a choice to make. While she didnât like to see Severus defeated by childhood bully, the obvious answer was to sit with Sirius. Not only would everyone get a seat, but doing so would further rile Snape up, maybe then he would be ready to admit to his feelings for her.
âSit back down, Severus. Iâll be fine here.â She slipped into the edge of the couch; her thighs pushed right up against her friendâs.
Siriusâ grin grew wider at the second small victory. He placed his arm around Y/Nâs shoulders, pulling her into his chest.
Severusâ jaw clenched once more. The sight of Sirius resting his arm on her so confidently had him seeing red.
âHas it ever occurred to you, Black, that the woman might not want your grubby paws all over her.â He spat.
âThat woman has a name, and a voice too come to think of it. Iâm sure if Y/N felt in any way uncomfortable around me she would say as much.â
âPerhaps she is just being polite.â He said through gritted teeth.
âAre you jealous, Snape?â Sirius laughed, realisation hitting him. âAre you jealous that a girl like Y/N is not repulsed by the thought of me touching her, as she would you.â Sirius placed an arm on Y/Nâs knee to drive home his point.
âI wouldnât be so sure of that.â Snape scoffed.
âWhat is that supposed to mean?â
Severus fought back the urge to lash out at him, standing slowly from his chair once again.
âIt seems I have overstayed my welcome.â His tone was eerily calm. Â
Sirius smirked, basking in his victory.
âYou always have been all bark, Severus. Next time youâre here remember your place in this house; you are not wanted.â
âThe next time Iâm here, Black.â Severus sneered. âIâll be laughing at your pathetic attempts to win Y/N over, Then Iâll take her upstairs and fuck her until the only thing she knows how to say is my name. MY name Black, not yours.â
The room fell silent at the Professorâs words, everyoneâs attention focusing in on him and Sirius.
Molly threw a hand over her mouth in shock, quickly trying to usher her children from the room. Â
Sirius stood from his seat, pointing his wand in the direction of the Potionâs Master.
âWhat the fuck did you just say?â
âI said; Iâm going to fuck her in your house, while sheâs screaming my name and begging for more because she loves the feel of my cock so much.â
A .. flash of light shot from the end of Siriusâ wand, an electric pulse buzzing through the air. Snape deflected it with ease.
The room quickly emptied, leaving only Severus, Sirius and Y/N remaining.
Sirius waited for Snape to take it shot, but it never came. This only angered Sirius more, causing him to send another handful of spells flying his way. Severus deflected each one with a simple movement of his hand.
âYou think Iâm lying?â Severus taunted. âAsk her yourself.â
Sirius gaze flicked over to Y/N for no more than a second before he continued raging spells in Snapeâs direction.
Y/N finally shook herself from her frozen state.
âSirius stop!â She yelled, watching him send endless curses Snapeâs way.
Her friend took no notice of her, continuing to his battle with her lover.
Bored of remaining on defence, Severus finally threw a spell at Sirius. The marauder managed to deflect but stumbled back from the sheer force of the curse.
In an instant there were spells flying back and forth between the men while Y/N watched on helplessly from the side lines.
Seeing Sirius weaken against Severusâ power, had Y/N panicking that someone was truly about to be hurt. Knowing the two shared a sordid history, it was unlikely that either wizard would accept defeat before the other was forced to submit.
âSeverus, please stop this.â She ran at him, pulling roughly on his robes to get his attention. âStop!â
Distracted that Y/N might get caught in the crossfires of the duel, Severus attempted to push her behind him and out of the line of fire. But to no avail, the witch fought against his arm, refusing to surrender to his protection.
Y/N rounded on Severus, pushing roughly at his chest in a last-ditch effort to end the fight.
Despite being unable to hold off Snapeâs spells for much longer, Sirius refused to give up without a fight; his spells coming in faster with each passing second.
Losing focus on the battle, Severusâ attention was taken over by trying to keep Y/N safe. Abandoning his wand, he gripped the woman by her wrists and dragged her to the side. Foolishly Snape did not consider that Black would not have the same concern for her safety and another spell headed in their direction. Snape pulled Y/N tight to his chest, covering her with as much of his body as he possible.
Severus winced as pain lashed across his arm. His now cut up sleeve becoming wet with blood.
âSeverus.â Y/N yelped, grabbing onto his hand. âAre you hurt, let me see it.â
She took Snapeâs arm in his examining the severity of his wounds. They were deep and showed no signs of clotting.
Sirius watched on from the other side of the room, panting breathlessly with exertion. Y/N spun on him, furiously.
âWhat the hell did you do?â
Sirius remained speechless.
âYou shouldnât have gotten in the way.â Snape snapped, regaining her attention.
âI was trying to stop you from hurting each other.â
âThat worked out well, didnât it?â He glared down at her.
âStop it, Severus.â She warned, knowing he was trying to deflect from the fact he was hurt.
âIâm sorry.â He admitted, stroking her cheek with his good hand.
âHe was telling the truth?â Sirius finally huffed, watching the scene unfold between the two.
âSirius, Iâm sorry. I wanted to tell you but-â
âAre you together?â
Severus and Y/N exchanged a hesitant glance.
âNo.â
âYes.â Y/N turned to Severus in shock.
âBut Severus you said-â
âForget what I said. Iâve spent all night watching what it looks like to have another man flirting with you because he thinks youâre single. I refuse to spend another moment watching that. Youâre mine, Y/N, in every way that counts. And I want everyone to know it.â
âDo you mean it?â She looked up at him hopefully.
Severus nodded firmly, tucking that one rouge piece of hair behind her ear before bringing his mouth to hers.
âThen letâs go tell everyone. And maybe heal your arm while weâre at it?â
âWhatever you want.â He smiled.
Sirius may have gotten the upper hand in the duel, but ultimately it was Severus who was victorious in this battle.
