I don't listen to people that haven't played a new Kingdom Hearts game since 2006. Yes yes kh2 we all love it yes kh2fm is amazing yeah yeah we've all see kh2. Play more kh games, that is literally game number 3 in a series that's like 15 games ongoing. "It's confusing" it's just long as fuck so its a lot of information to take in and that's okay. People literally take so much time and care to explain the series and lore to people who are lost. Like just say you enjoy kh2's gameplay and move on, if you really cared about the series AS A SERIES you'd be paying attention to it as a whole. "Dream drop distance what a stupid title!!!" that is the LEAST stupid thing that has happened in this series. "It's on too many consoles" watch a cutscene movie. Read a wiki page! I'm prefacing this with a while it's not impossible to ship with Chishiya, it IS very difficult. As much as I DO enjoy ships, this is something important with Chishiya that i'm not going to compromise his characterization for. This is mostly due in part to the fact that there's really only a certain type of personality he's going to be inclined towards. Like I've said in past headcanons, romance & sex just aren't things Chishiya's inherently interested in. It's never been a goal in his head nor something he's had interest in exploring. But, of course, this can change for someone who does catch his interest. It's also definitely not likely to be the healthiest (not to say it can't IMPROVE) but lets be real, you already knew that.

Chishiya ISN'T someone who responds well to overt kindness other than to use and manipulate. It's alienating when it comes to him. Chishiya needs someone who can keep up with him. It doesn't have to be the same style of intelligence per se - but Chishiya needs someone who can see at least closer to his level rather than him looking down on. ( Which...opens a whole other can of worms and danger but shh. ) Someone smart, or at least observant and clever in a resourceful way. Someone who can handle the way Chishiya will be cryptic or sassy or otherwise elusive - or observant enough to call him out on his bullshit. Chishiya's extremely good at redirecting, so being able to pin him down both pisses him off and earns his interest.

He needs someone who can CHALLENGE him in various forms whether he likes it or not. Because here's the thing. Chishiya's very much a 'CONTROL THE SITUATION' type. Control is everything in some degree. Having someone challenge that is aggravating BUT NECESSARY for a more authentic side to tend to star to appear. As much as he likes his control, and clings onto it with an iron grip, they need to be able to challenge that control. Otherwise Chishiya's just puppeteering everything. And i do mean this in a variety of contexts. Battle of wits or trying to intimidate. Chishiya tends to find it more amusing than anything, but if you're observant too it'll catch his attention. He hates it but he likes it as well, trying to challenge and outdo and see who has control. Like i said. Not the healthiest but I mean if you wanna pull a weapon he's probably not going to be too bothered. Whether that's a pro or con up to you.

Chishiya also tends to be an INSTIGATOR. He likes to initiate or bother, but often tends to respond and proceed based on how reactive someone else is. So a character that tends to be very responsive is more likely to be someone he has fun messing with. Which is a general statement to be honest, but you'll probably have to initiate when it comes to something physical with him. At least in the beginning. He's not looking for sweet, it's more the pursuit of feeling ALIVE, danger and all.

With time, inevitably he tends to start to very slowly open up more or be more welcoming to certain things. He'll still mock and taunt you because it's Chishiya, but there will be newer layers that slowly start to reveal themselves. It can change for the better or for the worse depending on how the muses go. Or both, sometimes better and sometimes worse. I promise it'll be fascinating but also know that won't save you, esp if they're in the borerlands.
