Something abt Willow defying the narrative itself to bring Buffy back. It’s so selfish, and thoughtless, and also the ultimate act of devotion.
She defies the laws of nature, she rips apart the fabric of reality, but she also defies the show itself. Buffy’s ending was always going to be a tragedy, she was always going to die young. Everyone knows this: Buffy, Giles, the showrunners, the audience. And that almost was the ending! The show was supposed to end in season 5, and obv external reasons led to it being continued, but in universe it’s willow forcibly continuing the story.
Willow was the only one who refused to accept that Buffy dying young was her ending. She defies the damn narrative to bring Buffy home bc that is her best friend!!! And yes it’s also abt her own power and showing that she can, but it’s also abt Buffy spending five seasons desperate to be more than just the slayer, and that Willow’s greatest kindness is refusing to let her die the way the narrative wants. Willow refuses to let Buffy suffer the destiny she’s tried to shirk from the beginning!! It’s abt Willow being physically unable to imagine a life without Buffy; a story without her best friend. They make me want to eat rocks.

DP x DC Prompt: Delayed Reactions
Danny's powers didn't activate all at once after going into the Ghost Portal, in fact they hadn't even fully realized what happened for months. They assumed the change in appearance was just their eyes adjusting to the flashing because of how quickly it appeared then vanished again. But, as more things started happening to Danny and started changing, Danny couldn't help but wonder if maybe his accident had resulted in more than a permanent star that ran up his left arm to his heart.
He didn't tell Sam or Tucker though, after all Meta-Humans were so rare that there was no way they would believe him! Plus, if he told them then it would only be a matter of time before more people knew. So, he kept it to himself.
Which worked until Summer Break when Danny went to Gotham with his parents and Jazz for a Ghost Hunting Exp. Danny had no interest in 'Ghost Hunting' (though he had begun to do more of it after he realized that he could kind of sense and see the ghosts), so instead of listening to the expo he was going around learning more and more about the city. Gotham had some amazing other exhibits, an observatory, museums with huge space displays, and more interesting things than Ghosts.
Plus, it had the highest population of heroes!
Danny didn't expect that his second day in Gotham would end up so differently from the first one. It all started with a little girl about nine who had been crossing the street when chaos broke loose. An explosion on the next block rocked the entire city, causing Danny's skin to crawl, but what mad him sick was the fact that the explosion had thrown a car directly towards the little girl and a crowd of people.
Everybody else scattered, including the woman the girl had been walking with who seemed to forget her in an instant as they got out of the way of the car. But the little girl didn't move, just started terrified at the approaching car.
"Get out of the way!" People shouted to the girl, but unlike the rest of them Danny's instincts were screaming one thing.
Protect.
Danny ran forward as quickly as his legs could manage as he tried to beat gravity itself. Danny made it to the girl without a second to spare, wrapping her into a hug.
"Please work, please work, please work!" Danny thought, struggling to get his powers to work as he felt himself turn intangible with the girl turning intangible with him.
No sooner did his powers kick in did the car slam into the ground where they were standing before it bounced and rolled down the street, leaving a dent around the two of them but leaving both Danny and the girl untouched.
Danny let his power drop, as the girl looked at him for a second before she burst into tears and hugged him. Danny's vision swam as he hugged her back, fixing her hair.
"I gotcha, you're okay..." Danny told her, then let her go as the woman who had left her in the street called her.
The girl sniffled, then ran to the woman as Danny tried to stand. He could hear people talking, cheering and some were even applauding but it all sounded really far away. He could also hear another car approaching, but as his vision faded and his body felt as though it was filled with led nothing felt important anymore.
---
The Bats had tried to race to get to the civilians before the car hit them and had failed. Thankfully, the majority of people had managed to get out of the way to a safe distance but there was a little girl still in the road. None of them wanted to see the girl die, but they knew realistically they couldn't make it to her.
But somebody did.
No sooner did the stranger save the girl and let her go did they collapse into the middle of the street.
Suddenly it was no longer 'save civilians from a car that got partially blown up in Penguins newest scheme' but 'get the unknown Meta out of the street before his face was exposed to every media outlet throughout the city'.

one of the reasons star trek is so good is because of its representation- like, you have incredibly diverse (racially, gender/sexuality etc) human characters fully accepted in the show and it’s very comforting. these characters (in relation to identity) aren’t put through the hell that the society when that particular st series would require of a groundbreakingly diverse character because this is the future, and groups that weren’t accepted in their time WILL be accepted and loved in the future, and it ends up kind of feeling like the writers giving you a nice hug & telling you everything will be okay. social issues are, of course, addressed in st at length- but it’s always through alien races or other allegorical means. st effectively criticizes oppression against marginalized groups while promoting diversity of all kinds, separately, making watchers (especially those represented) so hopeful for the future and the good of humanity while also being aware & critical of shitty stuff going in our present time… which is so nice to me

Like namely just cavendishes reaction to doofenshmirtz being "heinz doofenshmirtz: your leader" instead of professor time

do you ever think about how close todd and charlie must have gotten after neil’s death? todd probably spent most of his days in charlie’s room - sneaking out of his own - talking, crying, laughing. remembering. they told each other stories. talked about their memories with neil. charlie would talk about the shenanigans they were up to when they were much younger and innocent. like that one time neil stayed at charlie's and he fell from the swing. mr. dalton took care of him, he cleaned his scraped knees and gave him a consolatory popsicle. neil's eyes lit up, his dad would've never done that. charlie knew; he regrets not helping him more, not being by his side when he needed it most. todd would talk about the first few weeks they spent together. the deep talks they would get into. well, neil would start them, opening up with some random thought but once todd started adding to the conversation his own reflections, that's when neil stopped talking. he just listened to todd and his rants, even when they didn't make sense and he'd stop mid sentence to giggle at himself. neil was always listening. he was there for him. just like todd was there for him. but it wasn't enough. charlie and todd both loved neil and now, neil gave them a mission. they had to take care of each other. years went by, todd and charlie kept retelling each other the same old stories, keeping his memory alive in their minds. neil also wanted them to keep on experiencing life. todd and charlie lived. they lived together, apart, for as long as they could. they lived for neil too... so isn't anyone else thinking about them or is it just me?

Thinking about how in otherside picnic, because the horror elements symbolise trauma (randomly showing up during almost all of Sorawo's happy moments and whenever she starts to open up her heart a bit more to toriko) the scene where they are camping in the otherside has so much more meaning.
They are cuddling and sleeping together, and they get interrupted by noises from outside. Instead of having to confront it or run away from it, they manage to let it pass by and return to their happiness. They will not allow the trauma to stop their relationship anymore.

I just saw someone say that Mike isn’t the heart because “what did he do to keep the party together”.
Did people actually watch the show? From season 1 we see his caring and compassionate side. He was willing to help El get out of the storm, and we see how he cares for Will even when he’s gone. He’s the one who noticed when something was wrong with Will and checked up on him. The Party fell apart in season 3 when he wasn’t at his best, but we see him improve a bit more towards the end of the season, thus making the Party reconcile. He unfortunately falls back apart in season 4, and we see the effects on the Party immediately. Will has a whole monologue about how Mike makes him feel better about himself.
He is literally the heart. When he falters, the whole Party does.
It’s even worse because Bylers were saying this. I don’t get how you can be a Byler and misunderstand Mike’s character so much.

It’s all whiney subs this whiney subs that. NO. I want to fuck a grumpy and broody, angsty love interest in a romance novel, dark and stormy country boy, tortured old ass man type dude. I want him to grunt and groan and shit. Like yeah, whiney subs are great, love whiney subs, but also love to see those fuckers who complain about their knees in a dad tone while sucking the strap.

Call-out Post To Creatives
it has to be bad before it can be good. it has to be bad before it can be good. let me say that again: it has to BE BAD BEFORE IT CAN BE GOOD.
nothing can be great if you deny it the chance to exist in the first place
literally nothing is stopping you from making bad art except yourself. Art does not have to be good, it just has to be. good is so subjective anyway. give yourself permission to be bad at things.

Obviously Terry fell for Daniel the moment he met him, and Daniel probably fell for him sometime during their honeymoon. But when was the first time they actually told the other that they loved them? If they ever do?
Nonnie, I don't know. I still stand by the idea that Daniel got a terribly unpleasant bug one day, and burning with fever, sobbed out: "Do you even love me?" against Terry's chest. (As if someone who didn't love you would hold you like that when you were sick and snotty and miserable). And I said then that Terry followed that up every day since with: "Have I told you that I love you today?" But I don't know. If he ever did during their marriage, I feel that Daniel very angrily will have shut that down after the rape. If that's love he doesn't want it. It's so fraught. They say all endearments but that, unless when they're fighting, "I love you, you idiot!" My sweet, my love, my dear, mo cuishle, sweetheart, my Alpha, my Terry, they show and show and show but don't say because of how they began and what they've been through together.

Ok ok ok, Tachibana spends the entire series trying to be good, but he mixes up Good with Doing As He Is Told. Tachibana is the most lawful character. He needs to be told what to do and when to do it, he craves structure and safety and being told he's done a good job. You can see it from the very start, and then every time he runs off to an authority figure. Karasuma was the President of Board. Kiryuu was his senpai. Hirose Senior was a researcher. Tachibana needed them, he needed to follow their lead, he needed them to tell him what to do. Even if it was against Kenzaki, even if it was against what the others thought was right, even if as an audience member or made NO SENSE, if an authority figure told him anything he had to follow them. Because they would know, right?? Because he's desperate for structure. The man was so riddled with anxiety he manifested psychosomatic symptoms, he TOLD A WOMAN HE ATE A PUZZLE PIECE as a totem of protection for her. (and she accepted that, she accepted that, she knew, she understood, she took care of him, they could have been so happy) This made sense to him! He was manifesting order in a chaotic time, or tried to, while he was a hurricane rapidly spinning out of control! When left to his own devices he moved into what looked like an abandoned building! He swiped food when no one was around and ate bad spaghetti! He was falling apart and could not listen to help no matter who it was coming from, and hitched his wagon to anyone who could just give him something to do.
I loved him! I loved him so much, the big dumb desperate lug!

Yeah I'm a pink pony girl
(a fem trans masc who is just trying to be himself but it seems to always result in someone disappointed. My true honest self will always cause someone discomfort. They don't understand, they can't understand. I'm not trying to hurt anyone, im just chasing after a version of me that I recognize in the mirror)
