of course!! <3 sorry this took a literal day to answer, i got busy and #17... 🤧 let's just say i like talking about my WIP. also sorry this is like novel length, rivalfic is my baby

22. How organized are you with your writing? Describe to me your organization method, if it exists.

usually, cough. not very. but with my current WIP (the f1 AU) that couldn't be more different, mostly due to the nature of this fic. i unfortunately had the marvelous idea to write it just before classes started last year, which meant that while i have pretty much the whole of the first part (there will be two, each covering one season of f1) planned, i had little to no time to actually write it down. so i needed meticulous planning, not only to give me a good road map when i did get time to write, but also to motivate me to keep going.

i do a lot of writing on paper before typing it up (thank god im good at touch typing. i learned when i was 8 and have blasted many a coworker out of the water on the occasion that a typing competition is used as an icebreaker.) most of the time, if dialogue or a fake tumblr post or headline comes to mind, i can just add it to a document i have for that purpose. different pages are set up for different races. if you've read every point a pressure point, i don't go into detail for every race. i have just chosen the ones that i think are most important to the story, and will let the fake posts, headlines, and/or classifications speak for the rest.

speaking of the classifications, uh. this is probably the silliest part by far so bear with me and don't laugh.

this past term i finally learned to use a programming language other than html, and obviously with great power comes great responsibility, so i decided to visualize the standings using python. i've already decided the racing characters' classifications and point totals from the beginning and they've been sitting in a google sheet for a while, so this past weekend when finals were finally over, i just downloaded it as a CSV file and read it with the DictReader class in the CSV module and then visualized the data into plots using matplotlib (i'm sorry if my terminology isn't correct i just do things that i learned in class and look up the stuff that was out of the scope of that course lol)

so this is the result (warning for mild spoilers ahead i guess):

now that i've actually visualized the data i now realize that i may have to tweak some of the classifications (it is entirely possible that i have made ilya and linda score too many points for how high i want caledonian to finish in the constructor's championship) and also ignore the 0.5s on the x-axes i need to figure out if i can even get rid of those. i somewhat tried to model the teams' performances on historical precedent but i feel like i got a little too subjective on the points scoring. linda should probably have scored a bit less than how she is now, and ilya a little bit more. anywhey,,, i dont really know what im doing lol these are kind of just vibes

so yeah! i spend way too much time thinking about this WIP as you can see, it's a wonder ppl have indulged me this far tbh. i promise i think about other things

17. Talk to me about the minutiae of your current WIP. Tell me about the lore, the history, the detail, the things that won’t make it in the text.

bestie not to make an already long reply longer but.

i plan to write two (longfic) parts in this universe, i think i've said this already: one covers therlinda rookie season (every point a pressure point) and the other their sophomore season (every point a surer step).

a lot of the parts of this universe are based on historical precedent, though it takes place in the quasi-present. any timings stated in the fic are directly pulled from real timing sheets specific to a track/race. in my head, the cars look like how they did in 2021: example below. so in essence the rear wing still looks like That, front still looks like that, no covers for the wheels like 2022 spec.

the calendar is based off the 2018/2019 f1 race calendar, with 21 rounds, and everything takes place in chronological order. mcn's performance difference from part 1 to part 2 is sort of based on a team that's currently on the grid (though doesn't follow its history very closely). but mcn in part 1 is definitely a backmarker team for reasons that i kind of still have to fully set and iron out. (bc i don't have the aerodynamic knowledge for that yet.) i imply that caledonian's performance equivalent/championship rival is alpha tauri, but i consider caledonian to be a true midfield team. the ultimate goal is for both theresa and linda to make it to bigger teams; ferrari and alpine (renault) specifically. this is in a universe where the title battle is between ferrari and alpine.

that being said, the two central conflicts in the every point a pressure point universe are not based on anyone in particular in the present, or any historic rivalry between competitors; it was literally borne out of me lying awake on vacation last year going from 'wow why do i approach theresa & douglas / linda & herc so similarly' to 'maybe they have parallels somewhere' to 'what if they were racers' to 'what if they hated each other and then banged' to 'what if this was intergenerational' to 'what if i wrote a fic about this' to 'god i know nothing about any of this, time to research'

i'm a relatively new fan to f1, so i don't think any of my opinions would be very welcome; i'm not looking to make any big statements about the sport either or moralize. i'm a firm believer of shutting the fuck up if you don't know enough about a specific thing/topic/issue and don't have the capacity at the moment to learn more about it. there are others whom i really respect who do have the time to go through and learn about the minutiae of the (MANY) issues of this sport but i do not have the time to do it, ergo, i leave the big statement-making to those good folks. yea, i mean, some of the characters' opinions are a little bit my own, but i don't really think they're that seismic: i think generally people would agree with it.

that being said, i think there's a really big takeaway (other than pleasure/enjoyment) that i want for anyone who reads through either of the two parts of this story; what i want to say, if you want to put it that way, is that life's too short to be petty, really. more than anything, we need each other, even those diametrically opposed. not everything is worth vitriol. as i said: i don't vocalize my opinions about the sport so often. i'm not vaguing anyone, really. i just believe very firmly that we need one another to survive. there's not enough room in our very full lives for hostility. also, like, heal your wounds before it's too late. it affects more people than you think.

yea not to get really too deep about any of this haha but as i said above rivalfic is kind of my baby and i really enjoy writing it; i know people find it weird and the universe comes totally out of left field and i feel like i'm diverging really far from the source material but then again theresa and linda never interacted in canon anyway so sorry tito juan 😩

I literally love minor characters purely because you can make up as many headcanons as you want and no one can tell you you’re wrong omfg it’s time ti rantttt

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say you probably sent this after reading this post just because you mentioned Orville and I have literally never seen anyone else mention Orville in my entire life so this first one’s basically a repeat but shhhh we’re gonna pretend it’s not

- Dr. Diminutive does more evil than any other evil scientist at LOVEMUFFIN. Heinz and Rodney are all about the show, but Diminutive keeps his ideas to himself so he can get away with a lot more without OWCA asking questions. He would have been a much better leader for LOVEMUFFIN had he not been dismissed for his height. 

- Dennis the Rabbit used to be OWCA’s best agent. He was even better than Perry, and they’d worked a few cases together back in the day because they were the best OWCA had. 

- I don’t know if Monty counts as a minor character, but I headcanon that he and Vanessa only broke up because he was too busy with work, and that not long after the summer ended, he started traveling a lot for OWCA. 

- Again, Lawrence isn’t too much of a minor character but tbh he doesn’t get as much screen time as he deserves so we’re gonna go with it. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Lawrence absolutely knows Perry is a secret agent. He never mentions it for the same reason he never mentions the boys’ inventions: he doesn’t think anything of it. 

- Roger is such a hit with the American people that they get rid of the rule that you have to be born in America to be president just so he can be president. They almost revoke the two-term limit too, but the rest of the government has to step in for that one.

- I will admit that I didn’t think of this one myself but Lyla was totally raised by animals, but, unlike Heinz, she actually sees herself as an animal more than she sees herself as a human.

- Mama Ocelot didn’t really like Heinz, but the baby ocelots loved him. They saw him as one of them, but they also knew he was different, too, and that made him really cool. 

- Charlene is a really nice, really successful woman. She was decently wealthy growing up, but earned most of her fortune herself through hard work. Part of the reason she liked Heinz was that he was never after her money, and he didn’t treat her any differently when he found out that she was on the road to riches. Even now that she’s stuck paying alimony, she doesn’t mind because even though Heinz should get a job and god knows there are some he’d be really good at if he’d just try, he’s clearly a good person and he clearly cares about Vanessa. Also, she finds Norm very weird but she still thinks he’s cool.

- Unpopular opinion but I think Heinz’s dad was worse than his mom, but we don’t see him enough to know that.

- That one Scottish cousin Ferb has that we literally see for like two seconds is actually Ferb’s favorite cousin and the feeling is mutual. The Scottish cousin is always trying to convince his parents to let him visit Ferb, partially because he wants to see Ferb again in person for the first time in ages but mostly because he’s never met the Flynn-Fletchers and he really wants to meet Phineas and Perry in person.

- This is another one I’ve mentioned before but 2D Candace and Perryborg were basically mortal enemies, and even once 2D Doof is locked up again, they have a very strained relationship because they both remember that they’ve hurt each other a lot and neither of them are quick to trust the other (and one day I will write a fanfic about this but I gotta finish one of my WIPs first)

- Jerry the Platypus was so fucked up that he didn’t disappear with the rest of the Perry clones. He showed up again in something, and I totally didn’t just stop what I was doing to google it but yeah, he showed up in the preview for Meap Me In Saint Louis (ya know, the third Meap episode) and even though none of the preview scenes are used at all like they look like they will be, this one is because Jerry is alive and he is adorable and no one can take that from me!

- Steve the no-longer-giant chameleon is also absolutely fine and probably living his best life with Jerry. 

And off the top of my head, that’s about all I got! I hope you cringed a little while reading, and if not, I didn’t do a good enough job 🙃

Hhh I know that should be the logical conclusion but I’m always nervous that it’ll somehow escalate into Arrogance or something like that but I’m Trying... Anyways, I feel like, when Dazai is left with Nothing to do but his work, he’s just like: shocked Pikachu meme. Kyouka is very smug about it. As for Kunikida and Lucy!!! There isn’t anything Specifically, it’s mostly just a feeling, but I feel like he and Lucy would being on friendly terms at the least? (Nyanon, 2/6)

Like, he’s no nonsense, and he tells you exactly what he wants, and if nothing else I think Lucy would appreciate that after coming from a home life like hers. Also I feel like she’s always up for a bitching session and Kunikida derives great enjoyment from bitching about Dazai. I don’t know, they would be as close as like, Dazai and Kunikida or Atsushi and Lucy, but they’d be friendly at least, I think? Does that make sense? Hopefully it does. That aside, YES. Also I relate, I don’t wear skirts but I wouldn’t wanna flash anyone if I did. And YES Atsushi learning how to text is very cute??? Kyouka and Dazai end up needing to help him the most, haha. I want them to be late to sleep while they keep saying I love you to each other because they both wanna be the last one to say it to their boyfriend for the night. I wanna see them swinging each other around on a date or in the kitchen or even when they get married. My awful sappiness aside, onto the next Scenario Concept: Four wall breaks. Typical, perhaps, but imagine it happening all the time, throughout the entire story. Something bad happens and Dazai looks into the camera like he’s on the office. Atsushi enviously remarking on how much money a book he’s in makes. Stuff like that. (Nyanon, 6/6)

for me i just assume everybody hates me so i go around with my day!! it sounds weird but i can easily turn off my head so it’s just Static or i get very distracted by something else and okay wow you SOLD me with lucy and kunikida i totally get it. i feel like lucy would also be strict with work cause she believes in “work first, reward later” which kunikida greatly appreciates, i also bet she would be the one to drag kunikida out for stuff and the reason he cant say No is because “well she is someone i very much respect .”

Snippet of the ‘Gemini Coven’

Man, never thought i’d make it back to this blog to post but lookie me here I am. This has been a WIP for a little over a year now and this is just a snippet of what i have been working on to show yall. I took inspo from season 6 of TVD bc i LOVE Kai Parker and the whole Gemini Coven thing was my absolute fav. So, Here are our babies in their own Gemini Coven.

“Awhh.” The older wizard let out, patting his partner’s hand in an attempt at reassurance. “Matato… Are you jealous?” he teased. 

The tone in Matteo’s voice rose at least two octaves. “Jealous? No way! She is so bent on making my life hell. There’s nothing to be jealous of when she is just going to die soon.” 

“Oh.” Altair gasped. “So this is about the merge” 

Matteo choked up, his throat unconsciously closing causing him to gag. It had nothing to do with the merge. Well, it actually had everything to do with it but he wouldn’t admit it entirely. It made him look weak. “No.. well. Maybe!  We go last! and I don't know if I'll be ready for when..” he stopped. Thinking about the constellation’s merge brought on way too many fears and sleepless nights more than his own. He had no idea who would win, and he prayed to the gods that Altair would make it. 

Altair sighed, he figured that's what part of the issue was about. “When it's time for me and Vega to go? Well!” He nudged his shoulder into his boyfriend's neck, “don't you worry. We aren't going to participate. We refuse to live in a world where we have to live without the other. Especially when it's because of one of us.” 

“That's not how it works Altair.. you can't just, out beat the merge. If you refuse, you both die, then the whole coven dies. Mason dies, whoever wins the Mcatee merge dies, I'll die. It's not worth the risk of killing everyone.” Matteo gruffed out. How could his boyfriend be so stupid? They've known about the merge since they were kids, they knew there was no way to beat it. It was something that was going to happen and they had to face it. “You can't fight the inevitable”. Matteo couldn't accept it himself, the fact that one day, him and Mason would have to fight each other to live. To absorb each other's power and watch the other die in front of their eyes, by their hands. He refused to lose, but he also refused to kill Mason. It was a constant battle, literally and figuratively.

Altair was insulted. Why was Matteo being aggressive about it? All he wanted to give the boy was reassurance but he was blowing it out of proportion. His meltdowns were different from Vega’s. Matteo’s were insult driven, hell bent on making sure other’s feelings were hurt in the process.  “Sure that's true but there's always another way! There has to be another way. We are peaceful, lovers not fighters if you will. You wouldn't understand, you're nothing like your twin. Only thing you have in common is the womb you shared.” Matteo pulled himself up and out of that chair so quickly Altair just rolled into the crevice that was formally Matteo's body as he watched the other boy start  for the table across the room, then back towards him, then over to the book shelf. Matteo was starting to pace and needed to think. Think about what he wanted to say, how he wanted to come across. How not to strangle Altair right then and there.  Bad thoughts, bad thoughts. The freckled face boy pulled his sleeves over his hands and turned around to face the other. He needed to stop his hands from the ‘boi point’. 

“I'm sorry, but what? Another way? ANOTHER WAY? Generations of people died LONG before us and they never had another way. There were theories about how different twins in the same bloodline could merge but they both end up dying. DYING Altair.” Matteo didn't mean to be yelling near the end, he's just getting worked up. Too worked up. He needed Mason, or Estelle, or Altair when they're not having this argument anymore. The only way to not have it, was to not be there and right now though, he needed to go. Leave this whole situation and come back to it never. He was losing himself in his racing mind and the pacing started back up again.

“Hey! Hey! No! no! no!” Altair called out to the boy, clapping his hands as well. He stood up from the beanbag chair. “come back to earth. Come here.” He called out in a stern voice then pointed to the spot in front of him. 

Matteo snapped out of his thoughts of finding ways out and looked across to Altair, crossing his arms and raising his brow at the other. “what?” He scoffed then bit his lip, why did the other have to be so hot without even knowing? His cluelessness? such a cute attribute.  Altair was distracting him from the important topic at hand, though.  He started to turn back around but was stopped in his tracks. Arms were bound tight against his body; the same spell Celestina used.  His head turned towards Altair, ready to snap at him but the other boy had a hand outstretched and was chanting something Matteo had heard from moments earlier. 

Altair flicked his wrist up and sent Matteo sliding across the room without a chance to react. His hand flew back to his side when the other boy was in front of him again.  Now they could talk to him face to face. “No one is going to die Mayo. We have 6 years to figure out how to make it happen. You just have to believe that we will find a way” Altair reassured him in a calm soothing voice now as he started to wrap his arms above Matteo’s shoulders to hug him. If he could bring him close, maybe he could calm him down long enough to get a truth sigil on him, and help Matteo cleanse his mind of what was really bothering him. With his arms around the other, Altair lightly drew his three-symbolled sigil on the back of Matteo’s neck giving him a big squeeze and pulling away. 

Matteo wasn't digging the whole ‘getting dragged across the room’ situation and was ready to pop off but Altair cut him off way before he could get a word in. Before he could even comment on Altair's new comment he was getting dragged into a hug and having his neck tickled by the boy. He shook it off and when they pulled away he looked at him funny, something was off about Altair.  “You look weird. Too chipper for a boy who is currently in an argument with his…. Whatever you think we are. ” He said out loud, not meaning to at all. 

Altair ignored his comment about their status, thinking only of how awesome it was getting an honest answer from Matteo, for the first time ever. He needed to soak this up for however long he could before Matteo smudged the sigil. There were so many questions to ask, Altair didn't know where to start. He can't start with the obvious ones, otherwise Matteo would catch onto him more. “We’re in an argument? What about?” he asked, playing dumb to gauge how truthful he would be. 

Matteo scoffed and rolled his eyes unintentionally, sarcasm and annoyance controlling his voice as he spoke. “Really Altair? You're never as dumb as you look but today you really have been proving yourself. We were arguing about you really thinking you and Vega can out beat the merge by not participating when what will actually happen is you'’ll both end up dead.” As soon as it came out Matteo covered his mouth, eyes widening as he looked across at the other boy. Shaking his head he spoke through his hands. “that was not supposed to come out.” 

Well that hurt. A part of Altair was glad to know the mark worked but the other part, his most sensitive part, was very hurt. He knew he put it on himself, marking an asshole by making him tell the truth but dang.. He nodded his head then rubbed his face, pulling an eyelid down with him. “I’m sure it wasn't but Jesus Matteo, you're a fucking asshole sometimes.” 

The boy's curls started to flop around as he shook his head. He tried stopping the next words to come out of his mouth but he couldn’t. It was like he was cursed with honesty. “I may be an asshole but at least im not delusional like you are.” He gasped when it came out, he didn’t mean to say that. Well, he did, but only in his head not out loud. Matteo didn't know why he said that, why was he being honest right now? What was wrong with him? He felt stupid-no he was stupid- and he could feel himself starting to spiral but he couldn’t stop himself from saying what was on his mind. “At Least I know that when I go against Mason I’m going to lose but you won't even try to fight for the coven and you’ll risk all of our lives just to keep your ‘make love not war’ trope you have for yourself to stay true. It’s stupid to fight it Altair. You really want to die without even letting me put up a fight? That’s selfish, no, its actually fucking stupid.” Pink cheeks flushed against his freckles as Matteo started for the other boy, taking their hands into his as he spoke again.  “I..I didn’t mean that I’m sorry.  Please don’t leave me, Altair. I don’t want you to stop loving me, if you even do love me, I don't know what you feel, honestly since you won't even kiss me half the time.” Fuck! He needed to stop talking but he couldn’t. His brain wouldn't shut the fuck up. 

 With that Altair’s heart started to break as he released his hands from Matteo’s and backed away from him. Now he was the one who needed to leave this conversation. It went too far too quick and was starting to upset him. So with that he pulled Matteo in for another hug. Hand going to the back of his neck to rub the sigil off before he pulled away to look into his eyes. “You need to clean this place up before they come up here.” He told the other before pulling himself completely off the boy and walking towards the elevator to leave Matteo with the mess he made. He didn't look back either when he stepped between the elevator doors and they closed, but from the noise he heard coming from the other boy before the doors shut  Altair could tell he was heartbroken. He knew Matteo would be fine though. Tomorrow he will come back to school and have completely forgotten about this whole interaction. Things would go back to normal and it would be just another bump in their road. 

Except that isnt what happened.

"Night terror," Yuki said tightly. He was too close but it almost didn't matter. "Not much you can do besides wait."
