So I just got done playing the demo a few times and I really like the premise but I was a bit confused.

Is our MC supposed to be relatively street smart from being on the run and effectively living ‘in the hood’ for years? I know I just assumed they’d be street smart but they came off as rather clueless.

I don’t know if having them behave that way is your intention so you can move the story along quicker but it just seemed a little off.

For instance they wandered into the dark apartment despite having suspicions about why it was like that. I know they had a sheltered upbringing but those habits I figured would be broken for the most part.

What killed me though was when MC started naming the characters in the group they do know and asking why they’re there, but not like in a ‘who sent you’ way. Instead it was more like ‘hey I know you’ and it came off as very naïve. (This is before the skill checks) I couldn’t help but laugh. Again I don’t know if that’s what you’re going for but it seemed a little out there.

MC effectively lives in the hood, makes money by ‘delivering packages’ for super shady people. While on the run from a dystopian government agency that killed their family. So people hiding in MCs dark apartment doesn’t seem like it should be very surprising to them.

In that same train of thought; there’s only two or three reasons why there are people hiding in the dark in MC’s apartment and neither of them are good and each would likely spring to mind pretty quickly. One criminals, two police for technically being involved in crime(package delivery) or three the Organization has found them.

Sorry for the super long ask, I have way too many thoughts and not enough places to put them.

Tldr is our MC supposed to be street smart or are they just plot required to be clueless at certain points?

As I've stated before, due to my unhappiness with how the current demo is, I'm in the process of rewriting. Some of what you have pointed out were things I was already aware of, such as the awkwardness with the confrontation at MC's apartment. That scene had to be rewritten a few times due to my work being deleted so I lost a lot of motivation around that time.

To answer your overall question, MC isn't meant to be entirely street smart or clueless. They (as you did actually say) had a very sheltered upbringing with very different circumstances that I've gone into a little more in the rewrite already, then they get suddenly thrust into this new life and they've no idea how to navigate it. So even with their few years of experience, they aren't going to ever be used to this life in the same way as someone who was raised that way, as they spent their formative years isolated and protected.

I'm not entirely sure how I could make MC seem more street-smart while maintaining plausible naivety so if you (or anyone else reading this) have any ideas I'm open to hearing them.

How can Israel be allowed to exist after citizens literally rioted over the fact that IDF soldiers might be punished for raping a prisoner? And after government officials defended that rape? Not to mention those who repeatedly blocked aid going into Gaza with no punishment.

Firstly, thanks for actually posing this as a question rather than just hurling abuse at me.

So, having extremists in a country - both civilians and in government - does not mean that a country has no right to exist. We literally have had fascist riots in the UK (caused by the English Defence League) the past few days based around misinformation which have targeted mosques and these are horrific but do not mean the UK should be dissolved. Expecting a country which does things that are bad, or has horrific fascists in government to be dissolved as punishment is not only nonsensical but also never going to happen. It's an ideological purity position which does nothing to help anyone.

Additionally, you never see anyone saying Iran should be dissolved for torturing women to death for wearing the hijab incorrectly, or hanging people who say things the regime doesn't like; you don't see people say the USA should be dissolved because lawmakers tried to stop aid going to Ukraine and ICE were putting children in cages and tormenting asylum seekers and immigrants. You cannot hold Israel to a higher standard than other countries.

In terms of what I've seen about the rape of prisoners, it's fucking horrific. It's unconscionable and must be condemned unequivocally - no ifs, no buts. This is a especially important topic to me personally as a man who has been sexually assaulted. The government ministers protecting them are far right extremists. They are awful people and I hope one day, soon, they will face severe consequences for their actions. The same goes for the civilians who tried to protect the perpetrators.

Those blocking aid should be punished for it. The aid situation is actually really quite complicated despite what a lot of online sources they to portray it as. The Standing Together food convoys being blocked was pretty much a manufactured issue by ST refusing to comply with rules about declaring and clearing aid so it could be sent in. They knew it would be blocked and they did it anyway. (There is a post about this from an ex member of ST which is around somewhere and I'll link back here if I find it).

The nationalist extremist citizens blocking aid are despicable however if they are saying "no aid in until our hostages come out" do you understand why they might take that viewpoint? I do not agree with it but I certainly can see why people might get to that position. I appreciate the whole of Gaza is in crisis however I can understand why people may see this as their only way to protest and try and force Hamas to release hostages (unfortunately it seems like Hamas cares even less about the lives of the average Palestinian than they do about the average Israeli.)

The fact that Hamas also steels aid, there are literal videos of this happening and Hamas attacking starving Gazans trying to get the food, and this goes ignored by so many people does not help. Now I would say that if 90% of the aid is stolen by Hamas, at least 10% gets through and that's better than nothing in my opinion but at the same time, if no one is condemning the aid being stolen and in some cases sold back to Gazans at huge prices to make more money for Hamas, then whats the point in trying to have a civil conversation.

If someone refuses to see that there are Terrible People on both sides, people who really showcase how low humanity can sink, then how can sustainable peace ever be achieved for Israelis and Palestinians.

warring nations have feeble peace treaty cinched with marriage except sabo's sister the bride-to-be to the crown prince dies on their journey to the kingdom, leaving sabo as the only accessible heir and therefore the eventual replacement

meanwhile ace's father's health takes a turn for the worse and he ends up being crowned king just before the arrival of his arranged spouse. he's juggling a million and one tasks he had not quite been prepared to be in charge of at this point in his life and to top it off, the person sent to marry him ends up being a man.

sabo is also in over his head because he'd been traveling as escort really but now he's forced to take the place of his late sister and stay permanently, and also the crown prince she'd been supposed to marry is now the acting king so it's all a giant mess.

arrives at the palace and leaves the carriage when his sister's arrival is announced, then has to explain to the waiting party that no he's not the same person but he can explain and no it isn't a trick or going back on the treaty, so since his traveling party has an audience with the crown why don't they all just go over so he'll only have to explain this once?

ace isn't happy but he's too stressed to see this fall through so he allows sabo to stay. makes a remark about everything for the wedding being thrown out the window so they postpone it for now. lets sabo stay in his chambers for the night bc only a certain amount of rooms had been prepped in advance and obviously none had been for his fiancee.

tentative never met to suddenly married and living in close quarters (shared room etc) relationship.
