I just want to make it clear that Hamas shot and mutilated and burnt alive 38 children on October 7th including seven children under the age of six. They also kidnapped 42 more. Hamas shot and killed one of the child hostages, a 12 year old autistic girl, and her grandma, a few hours after kidnapping them, presumably because they decided that keeping them as hostages would be too much of a hassle because of the girl's disability. They burnt an entire family, including a two year old toddler and twin five year old girls, alive. They shot a different nine month year old baby than the one who is being mourned today in the head. Another 12 year old girl was burnt alive that day along with 13 other civilians who were kidnapped, and her body was so mutilated it took a month to identify her remains. What happened to the Bibas children is not an anomaly. This is the organization that people around the world have chosen to celebrate and the organization that student groups at elite universities globally are choosing to very bluntly support and champion as #resistance against imperialism or colonization or whatever the justification for child murder is today. They are antisemitic terrorists and absolutely nobody has the right to act like what they have done is a shock. They announce over and over that this, Jewish civilian death, is their goal, and they repeatedly attain it because the entire world enables them and celebrates it when they kill Jewish kids.

Because if you, a trans man, don't have male privilege, that must mean that trans women do, because we all live in opposite to eachother, even though the framework of male privilege is something made by and for cis people. If trans women are suffering, that must mean that you aren't.

You can't talk about your own life or struggles or else you're indirectly talking about trans women, and cis men, and cis women, and everyone else except you.

(And fuck non-binary and intersex people and whatever they have going on with their identities that shits just not important to our oppositional viewpoint, right? ok so the pro-palestinian org at my university is getting confused and upset because people aren't showing up to protests anymore and wondering why.

idk, maybe it's because before you were organising informal research talks from university academics and running drumming classes, but now when we arrive at the protests you're all yelling that the only solution is intifada revolution and chanting stuff in arabic that, upon googling, literally translates to "from water to water, palestine is arab". no i'm not even talking about the "palestine will be free" one, they were literally chanting "falastin arabiya".

like can someone please explain to me when this shifted from being about innocent people dying in gaza and calling for a ceasefire to being about promoting ethnostates and violence?

I just don't understand why:

-the Irish president felt the ideal time to talk about Gaza was at the Holocaust Remembrance Day ceremony, especially after the local population of jews begged him not to attend in the first place.

-when someone talks about Elon's seig heil and how diaspora jews have been sounding the alarm for over a year now, some self-important fingerwagger has to kool-aid man themselves into the convo to talk about "thousands of dead palestinians" then doubles, no, TRIPLES DOWN that actually YOU brought up I/P even though in reality neither you nor anyone else did (amazing how they slink away in shame without ever truly learning anything, but we remember... oh, we remember.)

-when I see that once again, pro-pali protestors decide protesting anything remotely jewish/jew-adjacent ("adjewcent", as I sometimes say) is vastly more impactful than, say, oh, I dunno, protesting the white house? I mean, I think for "media complicity in genocide", you'd go to Twitter's HQ, or FOX, or MSNBC, or literally any other place than a fucking film festival in Utah -- and then I read an article where Trump says some shit about "clearing out Gaza", and it's like the warning bulb that had been illuminated this whole time knowing this was always around the corner, now started flashing -- oh no, that means when Trump inevitably attempts to enact this ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, non-jews in the US are NOT going to protest him; they're going to go after the easy targets like they have been for the last year and a half: RANDOM DIASPORA JEWS.

Foolishly, I attempted to share this thought process with husband, who IMMEDIATELY pivoted to talking instead about how Trump will harm so, so many Gazans, and I just fucking lost it.

For over a year now, every single attempt to talk about anything that specifically is impactful to the jewish people, no matter how much it is prefaced with care and concern for the palestinian population, is automatically dismissed as unimportant and insulting compared what the poor palestinians are going through... so you would think...
