Sometimes my friends ask me how i throw myself at risk and dont give up. And for a long time my depression was really bad, it was hard to hang on, every day was like a fight. And ill be honest, a lot of times i wanted to give up, just not face anything, and it was just so exhausting, i hated every single moment i was awake. It was like this for many years. What changed?

I just got very good at fighting. And i decided i liked fighting. People think change is something that happens to you, but i completely disagree, in my experience change is something you choose. You choose every day to be what you are, and if you want to be different youll decide to be different. I never let fear rule me, because i decided i wanted to be brave. So im brave. The fear still hits me, i want to die all the time, i still am depressed and sad inside, thatll never go away. But i am stronger than how i feel, because thats how i want to be. I want to be strong, so i am.

Sure theres times its all too much, and all i can do is back off and let it go, but im still here. Im still standing. You cant win every fight. But ill still fight to the end. Because i want to be a fighter. I choose to be a fighter. Ill never be normal or happy or anything approaching sweet, but ill always be the one who doesnt back down. Ever.
