i genuinely think it’s so interesting how ivan’s love for till is rooted in acceptance, whereas till’s love for mizi is rooted in denial. ivan fully accepted the fact that till will never love him, which is what lead him to his actions during round 6. till has NEVER accepted the fact that mizi doesn’t love him, which is why he is actively trying to pursue her. i don’t think till loves mizi as herself, but moreso the idea of mizi? in all the flashbacks till has of her (particularly, the hallucination he sees of her in round 6), she’s still a child. he’s in love with the idealized version of her he created when he was a kid — not necessarily mizi herself. ivan loved and accepted till unabashedly, for his flawed, reckless, and imperfect self. till loves mizi, but can’t accept the fact that mizi will never love him
