The tma oc is actually an au version of 'Pai Rite' (he/she)! He's player character i made while co-DMing a Call of Cthulhu campaign. He's originally from 1982 Chicago and about 28 years old. Her og lore and backstory and what played out in the campaign is rather complicated so imma leave it out. (tho i'd happy to rant about it lol-)

For the tma version: She uses her full name more often than just her nickname/chosen name; Joshua 'Pyrite' Kerr (he/she). She was born in 1978 in LA, moved to England in 1997, and died 2010 at age 32.

She is marked by both The Vast and The Spiral! (in the same way Martin is a mix of The Eye and The Lonely)

Pyrite has a rocky relationship with his parents from the start, his father was killed/taken by The Vast when Pyrite was only 17. His mother was killed by The Spiral, which triggered Pyrites leave to England to study mathematics at the King's Collage in London.

(Idk if it would really work all that well in canon but I've taken The Vast in a less 'real' direction? Like making it less of a place of endless mist or whatever but making it more like a concept?) Pyrite's father was a mathematician and investigating/trying to figure out more of the pi number. The horror of the uncomprehendable powered my the Fear drove him to insanity and eventually suicide, leaving his family suddenly and without a word.

Her mother, turning even more hyper religious than before, turned to pseudoscience as a way to cope with the grief (buying crystals and crafted religious symbols/spells to protect her, and doing other low-key paranoid superstitious stuff).

She eventually got her hands on some colorful (sea)glass shards which she hung by the windows to catch the light and "ward off evil".

The glass is an artifact of The Spiral! It slowly multiplies in numbers in the given location, and starts changing colors/patterns of objects within it's line of sight (though the owner is the only one who can see it's effects).

The longer the artifact is a set location and affecting it's victim, the more intense the distortions get (pottery/dishes "melting" or changing shape, entire rooms becoming mirrored, objects switching places with each other, glass clinking sounds being heard from every room, ...). Eventually it moves from inanimate objects to people in the victims life.

Pyrite's hair got turned a purple/pink as a cause of the artifact. Panicked, Pyrite's mother took a hammer to the glass, breaking it untill there was nothing left but dust. Pyrite found her body later that day as it was being taken away by paramedics. He moved away after that, taking a single glass shard as a keepsake to remember her by, having no idea of it's effects.

He went on to study mathematics in London and found his fathers research notes, going down the same cursed rabbit hole he did.

She did become an avatar for The Spiral later on as the artifact went on to distort any research notes Pyrite made/found beyond recognition, essentially 'winning' and making her a Spiral avatar. Pyrite died in 2010 after Gertrude and Michael stopped the great twisting. Died mad and dazed and out of breath, trying to keep her grip on the only thing that was left of her mother, the destruction of the ritual making her take her own life.

“Behave.” He scolds with no heat behind it.

“Mhm, yessir.” Buck purrs, his lips moving across Tommy’s bare shoulder. 

“Fuck.” Tommy breathes out and completely stills, and Buck can’t really see his face but he knows his boyfriend closed his eyes and is trying to calm down – which can’t be easy with Buck still plastered against his back. “This food is gonna burn if you keep this up. And we have guests to feed.” He adds, and as if to make a point, he flips a slightly overdone burger, Buck hindering his movements just a little bit.

Before he can respond, he hears another voice get through the chatter and music and reach his ears.

“Buck!” Chimney calls, and Buck looks over his shoulder to find everyone’s eyes on him, amused expressions on their faces. “Don’t distract our cook, we’re starving!”

“I’m just scolding him for taking his shirt off.” Buck says easily, then adds a little louder, to Tommy but making sure everyone hears, “Babe, you’re gonna burn yourself, you’re a firefighter, you should know better.” He shakes his head, and Tommy looks back at him with a raised eyebrow.

“Oh, you’re gonna pretend like you don’t approve?”

“Oh, I so don’t, Tommy, at all.” Buck tries to keep a straight face, but a chuckle bubbles out of him anyway. “You’re such a distraction, this is dangerous for everyone here.”

“I think you’re the only one with that problem, Buckaroo.” Hen laughs, and only then Buck remembers everyone’s still paying attention to them. It’s so easy to get lost in Tommy, to feel like it’s just them, even in a crowd of people. So distracting. It’s a hazard, really. He should keep Tommy away from everyone, preferably locked in the bedroom with him, for everyone’s safety.

new oc!!!! Meet Odilia Elodie Lucinenne Abreo

Info on her down here (still a w.i.p will be updated as i go(im lazy ok and over excited to show her off even if shes underdeveloped))

Backstory(kinda): Odilia is the youngest of 4, daughter of to earl Guillaume Abreo, having grown up in a loving household she was lucky enough to have an identical education as her brothers quickly excelling in math, science and gaining a huge fascination for astronomy, a field which was rather under developed in rhodolite. While yes her education was identical to her brothers, being a lady meant along with her tutor she had a governess teaching her of the more lady like things, the extra hours of learning were exhausting but she gained a love for the arts, and learned how to paint as well. At a young age she had managed to succour a position in an academy in the capital, her family residing closer to the border with bentonite, moving to the capital expecting only to stay for a few years, before moving back home to be married so she throw herself into her studies, she viewed these as her only years of freedome not being pressured to marry or debut in society, at the academy she started learning more literature and philosophy but her passions still lied in math and astronomy, she was surprised when she was given the opportunity to continue her studies in astronomy in rhodolites palace, she quickly accepted this opportunity thinking it would never happen again and seeing this as a way out of any possible arranged marriages. Living in the palace meant access to the library a place where she'd like to spend most of her time, but having only ever heard rumors of prince Chevalier she wasnt particularly enthusiastic to bump into him, but living in the palace makes it impossible to fully avoid the princes's. Even though she came to the palace for an education and an opportunity to start her research she quite enjoys the balls and social evwnts happening st the palace, realising that being a lady of science doesnt mean giving up being a lady of status as well, she will put her status of being a lady above her status of being a scholar, that doesnt mean she takes being a scholar any less seriously infact she takes it much more seriously for that reason, she needs to work less to be seen as a lady as she does a scholar.

Her relationship with leon: i honestly have no idea how they'd get together or why, i need to finish Leon's route :P

personality: shes a very headstrong, determind and confident woman, shes focused and goal oriented, curious and quite hardworking. she's social but not overly talkative, polite, perceptive and opinionated.

@annasghosts I didn't want to pile on that post any more lol but I wanted to reply to this because it's interesting.

To me headcanon always implied something that could feasibly be canon. Like, to me it means "in my head, this is basically canon". So presumably something that you think would fit believably into existing canon but just hasn't been confirmed. So a headcanon would be "I think Vernon Dursley is a chelsea supporter", like u can't just go "I headcanon that the avengers came to hogwarts and were sorted into a secret fifth house".

It does seem like it's been warped over time. In some ways I think this is okay, such as saying "my headcanon is that Sirius was gay" even though iirc jkr said he wasn't*. Because even though it's not true in terms of the author's intent, it also doesn't contradict canon in any significant way. There's no concrete information either way in the actual text and it doesnt (or shouldn't lol. anyway...) change anything about the character or the story.

however since most of the fandom has Pretending There Is No Info About the Marauders disease, this just leads people to use 'headcanon' to mean "any random thing I made up on the spot which I personally would like to be true" to the point it has no meaning lol. Since the fanon Marauders are basically just OCs at this point, their "headcanon" are just character traits that they've given to their original characters. Which is kind of funny.

*edit: apparently jkr did not say that and I misremembered/was misinformed. BUt I do think it's likely that he wasn't intended to be gay, so I think my point stands anyway.

a character design idea for a pokemon whos from the dark future and knew emerald & leaf personally

my current working lore is that emerald & leaf's parents got fucking stranded in the dark future since they tagged along with an injured celebi, who brought them here by accident

thanks to primal dialga Existing, they could get in the timeline but couldn't get out. also their first adventure when they got in was running the fuck away from primal dialga. this umbreon was one of those trainers' pokemon, and was 1 of the few pokemon who helped raise emerald and leaf

Kinda a robosona, kinda an OC. Somewhere in between. They are the person I become when I am In The Zone (kitchen). It's too hot to make curry, but I can't stop thinking about it...

I went with the concept of a humanitarian aid robot (who goes to disaster zones and makes tons of food for the affected) who runs a cooking blog in their off time. The bell pepper shield is meant to double as a cutting board/serving plate (it's the future, I'm sure they've figured out how to make surfaces that automatically clean themselves, lol)

Colors wise, they are literally curry and rice. Plus red/orange/yellow bell pepper, spinach, and carrot (the belt embellishment is meant to read as one of those decorative gems megaman loves so much, but also it's totally a slice of carrot)

I couldn't resist giving them a bowl hat (no actual curry in it tho, it's just colored that way)

Man, new pokemon game coming out in 2025 is a legends game meaning some sort of time travel is involved, rather it be the past or the future, my queer ass is not ready for this my guy i already had to deal with volo in the past and in my canon i just jump from game to game, timeline to timeline, as if i never existed i just got settled down and felt safe enough to befriend a whole group of people in paldea, i felt safe enough to get in a relationship with two people (we poly up in this bitch) and now i'm having the dawning realization that it was all for nothing again because in my canon ARCEUS JUST REALLY LIKES ME AND THROWS ME INTO EVERY STORY HE CAN i can not catch a break i am not well. i hate being the favorite i just want to rest, i've been doing this since pokemon yellow i can't deal with this no more.

design points: kazuma, as a child, has chubbier cheeks than his father at the same age, and he gets his silkier hair from his mother. genshin's hair is drawn almost entirely with sharp angles. his ears stick out more. he, his own father, and half sister have vertical pupils like snakes might have. genshin's sister's hairstyle is meant to resemble a chonmage, minus the shaved part. she usually wears masculine clothing outside of formal occasions and around the house.

headcanons: genshin is his father's illegitimate child. he was brought to the house before he can remember; his mother left him with his father because she could not take care of a growing child (lives and works in the pleasure district). after his wife passed away, genshin's father decided to raise his then only child (miwa) as a man so that she could inherit the clan one day. this afforded her with privileges a girl normally wouldn't have in this time period, and she took much pride in living up to her father's expectations. this changed when genshin, a boy, arrived, and the resemblance to his father could not be ignored. miwa now finds her newfound privileges threatened by a mere child, so their relationship is naturally tense. she is one of the few people to encourage genshin to study overseas; it's unclear whether it's entirely for her own motivations to get him out of the way or if somewhere deep down, a small part of her wants to support her brother's goals. important to note that genshin isn't even interested in the clan beyond training his own disciples, so she's fighting this battle all by herself.
