After setting aside her tablet, Guel lays his red suit over her like a quilt and lifts her onto his arms.

Suletta reaches around his neck instinctively, curling closer like a baby. “Welcome home, Mr. Guel…”

“Thanks.” Guel cocks his brow at her. “You were just waiting for me to carry you to bed, werenʼt you?”

Suletta smiles sleepily, looking content. “Mr. Guel always comes for me, after all.”

An update from after writing this: oh this. Got. This one got away from me?? I think I started this at 4 minutes past the hour. It is now 43 minutes past the hour. shitt.

Update; it is now 17 minutes after the NEXT hour. 26 minutes after th last update. I have seen god in the past hour and she shook in fear of both my power and audacity. I have lunch with my family scheduled in like 6 hours and I have not yet slept. This wasn’t meant to be as long as it is but I was possessed and this is the result. I may edit it and make it smoother later but I’ll make that a separate post, I want this sleep-deprived chunk of words to be here as like a monument to the fact that I could have been playing stardew valley during this time but I chose to do this instead

TLDR: long ass story ahead written by a sleep-deprived and hyperfixation-driven author. Who is now going the fuck to BED

“We can’t just keep it! What if it has a tracking device? It won’t let us fucking touch it so there’s no way of knowing it has one unless it leads them right to us!”

“Ok, I hear you but think. That hasn’t happened yet. It’s been about what, three days? and that hasn’t happened, and they haven’t been violent towards any of us at all. They haven’t tried to go back either, so there’s no risk of them telling or leading Showfall where we are.”

“Why do you keep calling it ‘they’?”

“Well they can’t be an “it” now can it? …wait.”

“Ok can we figure out the gender of the thing in the other room after we figure out if it’s a threat to us or not. It’s not even a fucking person, you remember what those things did to you back there, don’t you?”

“Those people were not themselves, they were just doing what he wanted them to do—“

“They’re not fucking people! Those things are all part of Showfall, just like Hetch was! It’s just waiting for the right time to turn us in, or pull some shit on one of us like they did before.”

“They weren’t… they weren’t in control.”

“Yeah like fuck they weren’t, I saw it fucking happen!”

“You can’t just… Ok. Sneeg. Stop. You don’t speak for me, the one who, oh I don’t know, was the one that shit happened to? They were being controlled just like us—“

“No, no, not like us. We were wandering around and not knowing what the fuck was happening. None of us knew what was happening. We just went along blindly. Those things—on purpose—dragged you to that stupid wall and sewed wires into your hands—“

“Shut up, Sneeg—“

“No you shut up! You didn’t see it fucking happen! I saw them and Bitchface literally hold you down until you passed out! They were fucking choking you, they fucking—they nearly fucking killed you with just their hands, that’s not a little suggestion in the back of your brain, that’s on purpose! That is fucking deliberate, that is a thing those machines chose to do! You don’t remember, you weren’t conscious when they fucking stapled you to the wall and strapped your head in—“

Sneeg glanced at Ranboo for a moment in-between pacing as he ranted, and the far away look in their sibling’s eyes shut them up immediately. Ranboo was still present, thank fuck, but they were looking at their brother like he was holding up a knife to their throat.

“Fuck, Ran, okay, okay—I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have… shit. Do you need Charlie?”

“You don’t know when to shut the fuck up.”

“…okay. Okay. I’m sorry. Do you need me to get Charlie?”

“No, I’m fucking fine.” It did not sound like he meant that at all. His voice was less steady than before. “I don’t want him to worry about our… hitchhiker. He’s worrying enough about… well, everything.”

“The fact that it’s here, so close to us is the reason I’m trying to get you to see, Ran. What if it turns on him? What if it does that shit to him when we aren’t there?”

“We will be there.”

“And when it tries anything, we can kill it?”

“Sneeg!”

“You wouldn’t kill it, even if it hurt our fucking brother?”

“Of course we wouldn’t keep them around if they did that, could we at least just… just leave it behind? …wait, no, they couldn’t take care of themselves. If we had to leave it behind, maybe we should…”

Silence lingered for a bit too long.

“We should what, Ran?”

“…Sneeg, I was about to say that killing it would be a mercy.” The Hero laughed. “Doesn’t that sound familiar?”

The Taken didn’t reply.

“We have to help them. I don’t… I don’t want to be on the other end of a mercy killing. I don’t want to hurt anyone anymore.”

“Okay. I’m—are you okay?”

“…m fine. It’s fine. Just. Can you stop acting like they’re any different from us? Please.”

“What do you want me to think then?” His voice was softer than it had been a few minutes before.

“Just assume that they… that they were someone. Just like we were before. And they didn’t… they didn’t do anything on their own, it was all Showfall.”

“Okay. Fine. Let’s assume they were controlled, they didn’t mean to, so on and so forth. Why haven’t they talked yet.”

“I don’t think any of the drones even could talk. Wait, should we really be calling them a drone—“

“Shut the fuck up, Ranboo, we have got to figure out what to do with it. It probably doesn’t even know what is happening, what the fuck does it matter what we call it.”

“It matters to me! Do you want me to call you by your title? Do you want to call me by mine? …No? Then why are we treating them like all they are is what Showfall made them? We had lives before, we were someone, so they must have been too. They might not realize it, or… or act like it, but they used to be someone. They are a whole person, Sneeg. We have to help them, we can’t just leave them behind because that would mean we are giving up on someone just like us, and we cannot give up on each other. They… they would have hurt us by now if they were going to. And Showfall hasn’t found us since… you know, which means there aren’t any more trackers.

…okay, Sneeg?”

“…okay. If it,” he sighed at the look Ran gave them, “if they try anything, we have to leave them behind. I’m not letting a dumbass puppet be the reason we get taken back.”

“If they—ok, whatever, you’re not understanding. You can’t say one of us somehow wanted to be controlled, and they’re a ‘puppet’ but those rules don’t apply to the rest of us—“

“There is not an ‘us,’ Ran! That thing isn’t like us!”

“Guys?”

A sleepy voice shut the two of them up instantly. They had a split-second conversation with their eyes before looking to their brother. ‘We aren’t done talking about this’ ‘You’e absolutely right, so later?’ ‘Later.’ ‘We’re telling Charlie nothing happened?’ ‘Of course.’ ‘Ok good plan.’

“Why are you two fighting? I’m tired, can we please go back to sleep?”

“We weren’t fighting, we were…”

“…talking about plans for tomorrow. And you can go back to sleep.”

“I don’t want to be by myself.” Charlie looked at Sneeg pointedly, who sighed to Ranboo with a playfully annoyed expression.

“Well I guess I gotta go be a teddy bear again.”

“Have fun”

“Absolutely not.”

Charlie punched Sneeg in the shoulder lightly for that, who just giggled in response and led his little brother back to their room.

Which left Ran by themselves.

Some nights, he would join them, but some nights Charlie couldn’t stand to be anywhere near Ran, and the three of them had made a silent mutual agreement that Charlie trusted Sneeg more than he did Ranboo.

…Ranboo was okay with this. He wasn’t hurt by it. He didn’t cry on the nights he slept by himself.

He didn’t wish he could be the one Sneeg comforted sometimes. They were just fine.

They were fine, which is why they went to the living room where their… well. Their hitchhiker? They weren’t exactly a brother, or a sibling, more like a fourth wheel on a tricycle. Or a flyaway hair. Okay, maybe Ranboo needed to get tbr fuck to sleep, alone or not.

But he found himself in the living room, where their hitchhiker slept. Or, didn’t sleep, as they seemed to not need to. They would sit on the couch and stare idly at the tv. That was what had started the whole conversation with Sneeg in the first place; Ran wanted to leave some kind of entertainment for the fourth person so they wouldn’t be made to sit in the dark for hours. Sneeg took this remark as a perfect opportunity to explain all the reasons why the former drone should be abandoned, but Ranboo would have fucking none of it. Maybe the couch potato (shit, he really needed to come up with a name for them—) didn’t seem to sleep, barely ate, and stayed still unless actually verbally told to move, but they were still a person. Ranboo was sure of it.

Their hand wandered up to the fresh scabs where their mask had been. The fourth person had a mask, one that hadn’t been touched. Despite usually staying still, the person—(Ranboo thinks they might just call this person Couch for now. Maybe it’s not accurate, and they’re tired, but it’s something. C, for short.)

C would back away any time the others would try to get near them. And they did in fact try, but despite how creative or sneaky they got, C always ducked away. It reminded Ranboo of the drone who had followed them with a camera, always one step away and never letting the Hero get too close.

The mask turned to Ranboo, who stared back quietly. C hadn’t talked at all, so Ranboo didn’t expect them to suddenly start now. He wasn’t even sure if they understood what was said to them, but Ranboo wanted to try anyways. Better to be polite.

“Do you like the show that’s on? I think it’s called Lucy, or something. I don’t know, Sneeg said it was funny. And it didn’t seem, uh- scary or anything.”

The mask didn’t speak.

“If you want to change it, the remote’s right there, um, I showed you how to use it before. And there’s like, instructions drawn on there. You can thank Charlie for that one.”

…

“I think I’m going to head to bed.”

…

“Fuck it, can I stay here?”

The mask still didn’t speak, but the head hidden behind it tilted a bit at the sudden change in tone. Ranboo took this as an absolute win.

“So I just. I don’t want to be by myself. And I don’t think you sleep, I mean if you just sleep when everyone else is asleep that’s cool, but also if so how do you even? function? on that much sleep? It really isn’t that much but to be fair you don’t do much so maybe you don’t need it. …do you sleep sitting up? And just somehow wake up when we get close? I know, um. Sorry about that, again, we were just worried your mask had a tracker like mine used to.”

Ran laughed nervously. “I think I did convince them that it doesn’t, so that should stop now. If um. If we make you uncomfortable you still don’t have to be touched, it’s, it’s fine.”

Other than the head tilt before, there wasn’t a reply.

“Okay, since. You can’t talk, I’m just gonna… I’ll sit down beside you. On the couch. And if you don’t want me to be that close you can uh- you can leave. Or like, get up, and then I’ll leave. This is the only room with a tv, so I’ll let you stay here, but I can’t tell if you want me to be here or not, so. Okay, sorry, I’m rambling. Just… move if you want me to leave, okay?”

Ranboo waited for a response that didn’t come, then sighed. “Okay.” He kept his hands up and open while sitting down, waiting for a few moments before tucking his feet under himself to get more comfortable. “I’m just gonna stay here, okay? Like I said, just move if you want me to leave.”

The mask had tracked them to where they sat now, but the person—C—didn’t make a move to leave. Ranboo turned their attention to the tv, keeping an eye on their couch partner in their peripheral vision. During a moment of audience laughter in the show—I Love Lucy, they remembered—C turned their head back to the television as they had been before Ranboo walked in.

Seeing as how C (they needed a better name than that—) didn’t speak, this was the closest Ranboo could get to being told “you can stay here.” So they did. A few episodes later, his head was on the arm of the couch and his eyes were closed.

Five turned its attention to the Hero, who was now asleep. He had said it was a person, which was almost hilarious. And the Taken and the Hero seemed to think it couldn’t talk? They had to know it needed to be given permission first: any handler of a Drone or Prop knew that basic rule. It would wait until permission was given: it knew how to obey. It wasn’t meant to speak to a superior unless it was told it was allowed. It would wait.

…in the meantime, it studied its handler, the Hero. The other Actors, their two other handlers, called him ‘Ranboo’ but Five knew that wasn’t his actual label. The Hero was his character in the last show, and so that is who he was. Five didn’t know if Actors had a number, but he had been called the Hero in the script, and so the Hero he will be until the script changes.

It hoped to get new instructions, a new script for itself, something, soon. It was tired of simply watching the Actors go about their incredibly off-script show. It was sometimes told to participate, and since no other superiors were nearby, it had to obey its current handlers. But it was told to participate, to stir eggs, to help clean the kitchen, to attack small webs in corners with a stick with soft spikes on the end. Those sorts of things weren’t it’s usual directive, and so it found itself…

It didn’t resent its handlers. They were doing their best, and they at least knew that they were meant to give it orders. It simply wished they were familiar orders. It wished the Hero had told it to play dead, or play chase, or play camera, or caught, or prop. It would even listen if it was told to power down until needed. At least then it wouldn’t have to be conscious in this boring and unfamiliar set.

And yeah Five only uses “he” for glran. That is intentional. It’ll be talked about and shit later. Something about being put into a role, something about showfall being transphobic, something something I want to go to bed

Powering down = “sleeping” for a drone. Different but similar. I’ll explain how it works later?, anyway The others hav e told Five to “sleep” but it doesn’t understand because it is only ever told to “power down” so it’s like error.sleep_not_found and it stares at them like “bitch you said the wrong. Thing. You’re supposed to know how to control me so you don’t want me to power down I fucking guess” and it’s gonna be really funny after that miscommunication is taken care of.

Lewis smiled watching you playing with Lily and Bryson who you two were currently watching while her parents were out on a date tonight. This was often a weekly occurrence for you to be watching either of them since Lily was one of the kids in your class at work and you had a great relationship with her parents. 

Lewis do you think I could come to another race this season?" Bryson asked climbing onto the couch where Lewis and Roscoe were laying.

Lewis smiled at Bryson question, much like their babysitter Bryson and Lily loved coming to the races and watching them. So with some of the races taking place in America, they were able to attend with you and their parents. 

"We'll have to talk with your parents first, but I don't see why not. You finally gone cheer for me now that im going to be driving for Ferrari?" He asked. 

"Hmm maybe." Bryson said with a shrug making Lewis smile. 

Bryson is a huge Ferrari fan and loves Charles dearly so ever since it was announced that Lewis would be driving for Ferrari, he always teased Bryson about cheering for him now that he was apart of his favorite team.

"Come on Lil-lil you got it." You said coming into the living room helping Lily walk. 

Lily looked up at you and smiled as she took a couple of steps, while watching you two Lewis once again though about how he couldn't wait to have children with you one day because he knew you would be a great mother based on how he's seen you interact with the kids at your job and with these two. 

"Good job mama's, I'm so proud of you!" You said as she took a seat on the ground. 

It was a few hours later, Bryson was dead asleep in the guest room and you had Lily who was blabbing about something on your hip as you poured yourself a drink. Sometimes Lewis would have to do a double take because you and Lily could pass for mother-daughter, and he honestly couldn't wait for the day you guys had a daughter, and he began thinking about if she would look like you or him. 

"Uh Lew you alright there?" You asked him as he snapped out of his thoughts seeing you and Lily looking at him. 

"I wanna have kids with you." He blurted out.

Your eyes widen and he wondered if he made a mistake by saying anything until you finally spoke. 

"You wanna have kids with me?" You asked readjusting Lily in your arms.

"Who else I am gonna have them sweets?"He asked with a smile.

"Right.And what prompted you to come to this realization?" You asked him. 

"I've been thinking about for a while watching you with the kids at work, with these two especially with this cutie has been getting me thinking about what it be like to have children with you." He said. 

"You are so wrong for bringing this up while they are here especially while I've got here in my arms." You said glaring at him. 

"So is that something you want as well sweets?" He asked with a smirk.

"We can start as soon as they leave." Is all you say before leaving him in the kitchen.

First Concert

Pairing: Keyboardist!Charles Leclerc x Reader, Singer!Lewis Hamilton x Reader, Bassist!Carlos Sainz x Reader, Drummer!Max Verstappen x Reader, Lead Guitarist!Lando Norris x Reader

Summary: Y/N goes to her first “Just An Inchident” concert and surprisingly gains the attention of the band, every girl’s dream come true

A/N: let me know if you want Y/N to date ALL OF THEM or date one band member and be friends with the rest of the band.

Y/N was on Ticketmaster and so was her friend, Penelope, on her computer.

“Any luck?” Y/N asked.

“Nada.” Penelope replied.

“Come on, we’re literally number 741 on the queue, they’re going to be sold out by the time we get through.” Y/N said.

“Okay, I’m 384.” Penelope said and Y/N shuts her laptop, moving closer to Penelope. “Get me my credit card.”

“On it.” Y/N goes to look in her purse. “What number are we now?”

“193.” Penelope said.

“We are so close.” Y/N said, bringing Penelope the card she wanted.

“I’m in!!! What seat do you want?” Penelope asked.

“Whats the closest and most affordable?” Y/N asked.

“You think we can afford floor seats?” Penelope asked. “There’s a few available.”

“Yes! Get it, get it, get it! I’ll pay you back, work extra shifts!” Y/N exclaimed.

“Alright, chill, I put them in my cart. Ticket insurance?” Penelope asked and Y/N nodded. “I got it! It’s done! We are going to see Just An Inchident this October!”

“Ah, Im so excited!!” Y/N said. “You are the best bestie ever.” She hugs Penelope

“I know. Should we recreate an outfit from their music videos?” Penelope asked.

“Which music video? It could be from ‘daydream’, that’s a great song.”

“You just like it because Charles sings it.”

“I mean yes but it’s a really good song, you had it on repeat when it first came out.” Y/N said.

“I know, I know. But I wonder what made them decide to finally do a North American tour.” Penelope said.

“Well they’ve been together for 5 years, they’ve been doing European tours all the time, maybe they finally realized they had American fans.” Y/N suggested.

It is October, the band is doing a sound check

“You think we’ll be playing more American venues?” Lando asked.

“If this tour goes well, I freaking hope so.” Max said.

“We’re playing Madison Square Garden, I still can’t believe it.” Lewis said.

“Actually we sold out Madison Square Garden if you wanted to get technical.” Max explained.

“Mate, you really need to stop maxplaining.” Carlos said.

“When do the doors open again?” Charles asked.

“At 7, we still have time for everything. With what song do you want to open with?” Lewis asked.

“I think a good opener needs to be a crowd favorite but a little nostalgic, you know?” Lando said.

“How about ‘Preacher Man’ (the driver era), it is one of our songs that was number one of the billboard 100 for a few weeks, that’s a definite American crowd favorite.” Charles commented,

“Lando sings that song though.” Lewis said.

“Well we can’t open up with ‘Meddle About’ (Chase Atlantic) now Can we?” Charles asked.

“You’re right.” Lewis said.

“Great, now that that’s settled, let’s go over the rest of the setlist.” Max says.

Y/N and Penelope are waiting outside of Madison Square Garden with outfits inspired by their favorite’s red carpet look

“Ah, It’s almost time!” Penelope said excitedly

“I know!! I wonder what they’ll sing first.” Y/N said. “Do we have enough money to buy merch when we get in?”

“Yeah of course.” Penelope responded. The security guard opened the door to Madison square garden and everyone started walking in, opening their bags for security, they went to the merch table to see what’s available and bought matching t-shirts. They went to their seats.

“Oh my gosh, we are so close to the stage.” Y/N said.

“Ugh, I know, it’s insane.” Penelope said. Half an hour later, the lights went out and everyone started screaming once they heard Max on the drums.

“It’s happening!” Y/N screamed.

Spotlight hit Max who was on the drums, hen another spotlight landed on Lando as he plays guitar, another on Carlos as he plays bass, then Charles on his keyboard, altogether playing the music of ‘Preacher Man’, lastly Lewis is lifted on a platform (think of the Hannah Montana movie), the music stops.

“Whats up, New York City!” Lewis said and the crowd goes wild. “We are ‘Just an Inchident’, thank you for coming! It’s always been my dream to perform in Madison Square Garden and now I’m living it.”

“We are very grateful for our American fans, it means so much to us that you like our music.” Lando said.

“We hope we’ll keep coming back here and performing for you guys.” Charles said.

“We hope you enjoy the show!” Max says.

“I guarantee you it’s worth the money.” Carlos said, Lewis picked up another rhythmic guitar while Lando stepped closer to the mic stand so he could sing.

“Hey, Mr. Preacher Man, I've been playing with a heart like a violin, I've been stumbling through the door after 6:00 a.m., fix my soul so I don't lose a love again” Lando sang into the mic. The crowd was loving it, 45 minutes in, there’s a little intermission where the band talks to the crowd

“You guys enjoying yourselves?” Lewis asked, the crowd cheered. “Okay, where them girls at?” The women cheered loudly. “Alright, who came here with their boyfriend?” Women cheered less. “Who’s single?” Women cheered loudly again. “Now one of you lucky single ladies, if you came with your boyfriend, I am so sorry, are going to be selected to pick our next song.” The camera connected to the screens chose Y/N. The boys looked at the screen behind them, she was beautiful. “Alright darling, come closer to the stage.

“Oh my god, go.” Penelope pushed Y/N lightly because she stood frozen. Y/N walked slowly to the stage, Lewis kneeled down so he could get closer to Y/N, he admired her beauty up close.

“Whats your name, sweetheart?” Lewis asked, handing her the microphone.

“Y/N.” She replied

“That’s a beautiful name, what song would you like us to perform?” Lewis asked.

“Well my favorite song is Daydream but Friends would be great.” Y/N replied.

“Well I’ll tell you what, Y/N, we’ll perform both.” Lewis winked at her before getting back up. “How does that sound?” The crowd cheered, Y/N walked back to her seat. “Thanks for participating darling.” The concert continued, as promised, Charles sung Daydreams, Lewis sung Friends, an hour and a half later, the concert finished, Penelope and Y/N were going to leave but they were stopped by security.

“Ladies, you need to come with me.” The guard said and Penelope immediately put her hands up

“I swear I did not do anything.” Penelope said and Y/N elbowed her.

“We’re not getting arrested, right?” Y/N asked, looking at the guard.

“Of course you’re not, just follow me.” The guard said and the girls were escorted backstage and met the band, a fan’s dream come true.

"Oh my gosh, this is insane." Penelope said.

"Hey girls, what did you think of the concert?" Charles asked.

"It was absolutely amazing, the light changes to macth the aesthetic of the song, the way you sung Daydreams is also amazing, i never knew how great that song sounds live." Y/N said and Charles smiled at her.

"How about you, darling? What was your favorite part of the concert?" Lando asked Penelope.

"You singing When You Need A Man, my all time favorite song." Penelope answered.

"Before you girls leave, we should take photos." Carlos spoke up.

"Great! Heres my phone." Y/N unlocked her phone and went to the camera, asking the secuirty guard if he could take the photo, which he did, then they took individual selfies, and the girls left, saying goodbye.

"She seems nice." Max said.

"Yeah, she's beautiful too, my favorite venue we played by far." Lewis said.

"When do we leave New York?" Carlos asked.

"We're staying a few days to go on 'Good Morning America', but i am beat, I just want a pizza." Lando said.

"Yeah, we'll get a pizza and head over to my apartment." Lewis said.

"Great, lets go." Charles said.

Y/N and Penelope got to their apartment and both girls posted their concert photos, the meet and greet, and clips of them performing their favorite songs, tagging the band and the individual members on Instagram. The next day, Y/N woke up with notifications that Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, Carlos Sainz, and Max Verstappen have followed her on Instagram. Y/N was smiling and Penelope was making breakfast for them.

"What's got you all smiley?" Penelope asked.

"No, nothing, what are we having?" Y/N asked

Y/n, a TV interviewer does not like this but she does seem fond of Leiws and he gets maddddd. He decides to change for her and please make the ending cute <3 (ITS GONNA BE A TWO PART)

Y/n tightened her grip on the microphone, trying to maintain her composure during the interview with the Fernando Alonso. His cocky demeanor had been evident from the beginning, but it seemed to intensify as the questions progressed. They had met back during Fernando's first season in F1 as she was lucky enough to grab an internship. While he at first seemed lovely and polite, his true colours had come when Y/n returned to the paddock the season after Fenrnado won his first championship. He had completely changed. "Do you think you could win the championship a third time, or do you think you've moved past your prime?" Y/n asked, before moving the microphone towards Fernando for him to answer her question.

Fernando flashed a smirk at his interviewer. "Well, you see, I'm just that good, I don't think my prime has even come yet." Y/n clenched her jaw at the first part of his answer. "Of course I think I can win it this year." Y/n rolled her eyes, masking her irritation as best as she could. "Well you have won it twice in an immensely talented grid, I believe you could." Fernando smirked. "Well it's so lovely you agree with me. It seems fairly rare nowadays." He winked. "Thank you for the interview, Fernando. Good luck." She quickly said, her relief palpable. Fernabdo blew her kiss, annoying her as ever. "That's all the media for you today, Fernando. You can-" Fernando stopped listening to his media manager once he heard the unfamiliar sound of Y/n laughing. His head snapped around quickly, only to see his new teammate smiling and laughing with Y/n. She never smiled when she was interviewing him, what made Lewis so special? Their animated conversation and laughter stoked a pang of jealousy in Fernando.

Later on in the evening, Fernando sat in the McLaren hospitality, eating his dinner when he looked out the window to see Lewis and Y/n walking together once again laughing. Lewis stood at the door whilst Y/n simply spoke to him. Fernando looked around to see if there was a camera just on the off-chance that this was for a TV bit, but not a camera was jn sight. Fernando nudged his personal trainer, gaining his attention. "What's the deal with Y/n and Hamilton?" He asked, an edge to his voice. His trainer looked out before responding. "Ive heard they've been going on dates for a few months now. Seems like she's quite taken with him."

Fernando's jaw tightened. "I think so too." Fernando mumbled. His trainer arched a brow at the spaniard. "What?" Fernando shrugged. "Don't tell me you're jealous." Fernando scoffed. "Of course not. It's just-" He paused and nodded towards Lewis. "Him? I'd say she could do better." He laughed, eating a fork full of food. "Whatever puts your mind at ease, Nando." Fernando looked back over to the pair at the door and watched as they hugged. He slapped his fork down on the table and stood up. "Im going to the garage." Fernando announced, marching towards the door. The doors slid open and the cameras began flashing with the sudden departure of Fernando. Y/n didn't even look at him and that only irked him more. He walked straight into his side of the garage and lay against the back wall, looking out onto the pit-lane.

How was he this jealous of Lewis? He was a rookie. And besides, it wasn't like he actually had feelings for Y/n. She was just a journalist. He thought to himself for a moment and closed his eyes in defeat, cursing under his breath. He did like her. Now what?

Look I can disparage DTS as much as the next guy for being inaccurate and stirring up drama, but thats basically all the f1 youtubers I watch too. Its good entertainment about my special interest, so without further adieu, here are some of the episodes I think would make if I was producing season 7:

Episode 1: Scarlett Fever

The season opener. Starts with many many social media tweets about the lewis to ferrari rumours, have a talking head that says most rumours in f1 are nothing, even if they're true they take weeks to come to fruition, Im picturing this as Will Buxton. Cut To: LEWIS HAMILTON TO FERRARI FOR 2025. Have Lewis do a talking head maybe idk. Next Carlos going I was never going to keep it against the 7x world champ. Jeddah. open on some stock footage of the formula 2 quali to set the seen vaguely mention ollie on pole. Carlos has a talking head basically saying every race from now on is him auditioning for a new seat, Except..... he gets appendicitis, what will ferrari do??? enter Ollie to the talking head zone, he introduces himself as ferrari junior and reserve for both ferrari and haas. Ollie does well, hurrah. allude to seeing more of him later. We then get to Australia where they focus on Carlos's return. He says something like how he's still aiming for the podium regardless of his surgery last race. the assumption is max will win hence aiming for a podium. cut to the race and max breaking down, now carlos wins!!! excellent, idk wrap this up with some kind of cliffhanger.

Episode 2: The China Shop

This is basically the episode where nothing goes right for Red Bull. apparently someone has already confirmed it will partially cover the horner situation. I don't want to get into that here but assume that its also happening in this episode. Max wins the initial races but has a couple things happen in aus/miami, it becomes clear this won't be their 2023 season repeated. Checo is underperforming but holding out hope. People are talking about Daniel into Redbull as an option to replace Checo. The car is also slipping away from them, don't spoil the winners of the races for later in the season but show where Max and Checo are placing. They go on about how its fixable and they have an excellent design and engineering team. Cut to the breaking graphic of:ADRIAN NEWEY TO DEPART REDBULL. Another team principal, I want Toto but it's probably Zak, mocks them like "They're acting like a Redbull in a china shop" Horner comes in as if his allegations never happened and goes Checo just need the confidence of security, new contract for Checo, again wrap it up in a satisfying/cliffhangery way.

Episode 3: Anything Can Happen

This is where I have to acknowledge the fact that they absolutely aren't doing the 2/3 Mclaren/Ferrari episodes they need. In a ideal world, there would be a Mclaren boys both get their first wins episode before the big lando championship fight episode and Ferrari/Charles would get his Monaco and Monza episode, then at the end there would be one last episode about the constructors battle between them. They won't do this, and even I can't justify giving one team three whole episodes, we're only working with ten here.

Instead, Miami, Monaco, Silverstone, and Hungary are going to be one episode. I KNOW. It's too many, I don't care. This episode is basically that one edit to Anything Can Happen. It opens with some discussion about Lewis, Charles, and Lando, and their various curses with winning. Charles can't win monaco, Lewis can't win since he lost 2021, Lando can't win. you then have three basically mini episodes like 15 minutes each covering them each getting the win they want. You then have Will Buxton probably come in and mention that with Max, Carlos and George as well, we've now had 6 different winners in the first half of the season, last year we had 3 total yadayadayada. Cut to: Hungary Oscar leading the race and then Mclaren does the undercut. Radio drama ensues. They swap. Oscar gets his maiden win in only his second season, we have a 7th winner but not without controversy. Nobody seems happy, the episode ends with the promise of more drama at mclaren later in the season.

Episode 4: Red, White, and Argentinian Blue

less proud of this title but thats fine.Williams time.

It's basically a Logans greatest failures compilation (sorry bro I actually like you but this is TV drama), also includes Alex's great aussie crash and him getting logan's car anyway. You have something from logan at the beginning about improving on last year, and having another chance to show what he can do, just to twist the knife.

Have James Vowles then come in and explain that they tried to give Logan a chance they really did it's just not working out (whether anyone believes him on this is another matter entirely). While saying all this he also praises Carlos and talks about how they're dating and he's pregnant with Carlos's child or whatever went on there.

Alex says something sad about having been in Logan's position back at Redbull.

Logan gets fired, if possible I want behind the scenes of this conversation but that feels unlikely. Instead, we get the discussion of his replacement. Names thrown out include: Liam Lawson, Mick Schumacher, Kimi Antonelli, Whoever the actual williams reserve was, but James only has eyes for Franco. The junior team is his baby and Ollie doing so well at Jeddah gives him an excuse to take that chance. He talks about his hope for the younger generation after such a dry spell of good rookies between 2020 and 2024. this james making a diss at basically everyone but Oscar that's joined since the 2019 rookies, including those still racing like yuki and zhou.

We then get the Franco announcement and a summary of his first couple races, very simple, mostly just the baku double points. maybe also his singapore lap 1 nosedive. We end the episode thinking he's the next max verstappen, we get no further mention of williams crashes and failures. key implications being there are no spots for him at williams.

Episode 5: Haasta la Vista

nope that's even worse.

Gunther is gone. That's the episode.

No actually, theres some discussion of Gunther leaving and Ayao arriving but it's also clear from near the beginning of the episode that neither Nico or Kevin will be staying with Haas next season. Starting at testing the Haas car is shit everyone expects them to be last. Maybe highlight Ollie being their reserve as well as Ferraris and do one of those small flashbacks to Jeddah. Kevin is crashing and racking up penalty points, Nico is forcing the Haas into positions no one expected at testing. Ollie is announced as driver, followed quickly by Esteban.

This episode is basically Haas being successful when no one expected them to be. Kevin gets his one race ban, Ollie replaces him for baku, show Ollie beating Nico with basically no context of the crash or the race up til that point just that Ollie beat Nico.

Nico talks about being excited for sauber/audi, Kevin talks about seeing his kids grow up. They talk about each other too. In my dreams there is a big romantic haasbands compilation edit. It's actually just a oh yeah we used to not like eachother but now we're friends. This is actually one of the more wholesome episodes somehow.

Episode 6: Family Values

Look I need to preface this with the knowledge that the Netflix cameras weren't actually there for this first part, but I'm writing it anyway.

Open on Toto's house. Idk whether Susie was there at the time but we'll say yes because I love her. In the kitchen Toto and family are having breakfast, talking, laughing, hold on, laugh we recognise, pan over, sitting next to Jack on the breakfast bar stools is George, having a sleepover with Toto??? for some reason??? anyway have them discuss the upcoming season over breakfast, say how they're excited for the cars development, working with lewis, etc. etc. George goes to say goodbye and then once he's left, Toto gets a call from Lewis, he answers and greets him. His face drops.

Brief mention that merc is getting better but they dont know why, literal 30 second montage of their first 3 wins since we already covered Silverstone and the other too are just unfortunately not as relevant to the rest of the season.

Time jumped a bit now we get the debate of Lewis's replacement. Toto mentions trying to get Max. He's never getting Max. That's fine, he has his own little prodigy he's making skip years of junior series. Very brief discussion of sticking someone else like carlos in the merc for a year or two and letting kimi develop at williams first, considering his f2 performance, maybe they did drag him up too quickly. Nah it'll be fine... Ollie did fine.

Quick explaination from one of the journalists about Prema generally being considered the best team in f2 eg. charles, oscar, pierre. but then mention the new regulations they've struggled to get on top of. Then show how Ollie performed in Jeddah and Kimi outperforming Ollie in the standings

Toto mentions how he signed Kimi at 12 and seeing him now at 18 getting an f1 seat makes him so proud. Mercedes weird family dynamic continues with Toto comparing Kimi and George to being like his bonus sons, and when asked whether he thinks they'll fight says some bullshit about how all siblings fight but at the end of the day they do what's best for the family-uh-no-i-mean-team. We're all a little weirded out by this.

Talk about how George is ready to step up as team leader, he's learnt a lot from Lewis. Also show him being unbothered (definitely bothered) by Toto having a cool new prodigy.

Kimi crashes Georges car in fp1 at monza the day before the announcement. This worsens the tension (whether it actually exists or not). George makes a semi condescending comment about Kimi that's definitely taken out of context. everybody takes this as truth upon viewing it and hates on George once again. Kimi has a more successful fp1 at mexico. Kimi has a tiny interview about how he's excited to be an f1 driver.

This is one of the shorter episodes, it just looks long because I got too invested in breakfast at Totos.

Episode 7: Papaya Rules

If they don't call the Mclaren episode Papaya Rules, I will eat my hat.

This carries on from the set up of Anything Can Happen. Lando and Oscar have both won one race each but Lando is ahead in the standings and had to give up hungary to Oscar. Drive to Survive will make this a bigger drama than it is, the two will seem like they hate eachother. This is the closest they'll get to replicating season 1 maxiel invented drama.

I find this episode the hardest to write despite it having the clearest storylines I think. The only options seem to be make either Lando or Oscar the villain and I don't want to do that so I simply won't. In my version of Drive to Survive, the papaya rules episode is just a half hour long clip of them work shopping the name "papaya rules" in a meeting. followed by Oscar's overtake of Lando in Monza, a 5 minute montage of all the criticism of Mclaren and their team orders will they won't they attitude, Lando getting knocked out of Baku qualifying, Oscar winning Baku. Then the Brazil sprint swap followed immediately another 20 minutes of meetings in which Lando tries to tell the team that if he has the opportunity he will give Oscar back the sprint win. The team tell him not to do it. This is followed by the Qatar sprint swap, radios and all. Oscar and Lando have more beef with Mclaren strategy team than they do each other.

Episode 8: The dramatic irony Daniel-uh-I-Mean-VCARB episode

Contrary I think to popular opinion, I think Liam has to be a sympathetic character in this episode and therefore I think it starts with Liam. He's talking about how hard it was not racing this season after he got a shot last year. Mentions how last year he was in another series, this year he's only riding on the good will of his 2023 races. Meanwhile, you have Daniel, Yuki, and Checo fighting it out for the Red Bull seat. This part is very quick because it's already been covered in The China Shop but it's basically Checo's performance struggling while Daniel and Yuki are doing betterish. This episode then focuses more on Daniel's perspective than Checo's like the other episode did. You have someone saying something stupid about Daniel being the only person to beat Max in equal machinery back in 2016-18. How he beat Sebastian Vettel in a Red Bull. Something about how Daniel is a "lost world champion" swallowed up by the dominance of Mercedes during his prime (3rd in both 2014 and 2016 to Lewis and Nico). It's all very compelling, unfortunately, Daniel Now, just isn't cutting it.

For a brief moment post-spa it looks like the switch is happening anyway (P.S. if Netflix got the actual record of what happened here they can have my soul because I'm convinced Daniel genuinly had the seat for all of 3 days before money came in to change that), however Checo's contract is extended and now Red Bull has Daniel Ricciardo problem. Someone comments that you shouldn't have a senior driver in a junior team. Daniel was brought in to replace Checo and that's not happening anymore. meanwhile Yuki is out performing Daniel and the whole thing flips on him very quickly. Liam is looking at other teams but isn't allowed to proceed with them without Red Bull's permission until september, he's getting frustrated because seats are filling up fast and again, he thinks this is his last shot. VCARB have to make the drastic switch.

Singapore comes and Daniel is surrounded by rumours, he knows it doesn't look good. He says if I'm going out, I want to go out on a high note. He get's his fastest lap to help Max. He gets a fairwell from his pit crew even if Red Bull were too cowardly to do it themselves. We get a greatest hits compilation of Daniel on Drive to Survive (I don't care this is unrealistic). Mention somewhere Liam is replacing him for the rest of the season but has no guarantees for next season. He sits down in front of the Camera to say his goodbyes, he mentions never getting that world championship, but enjoying the journey anyway. Mentions Max, Mentions Yuki, We see him saying goodbye to people like Lando and others as his voice over plays. He says he didn't blame Oscar last time and he doesn't blame Liam now, it's not their fault they were all in a shitty situation. Daniel exits the singapore paddock at 2 am for the last time.

I don't care how self indulgent this section is, Daniel was literally the first person we ever saw on screen in season 1 episode 1, if anyone gets a sappy goodbye it's him.

Episode 9: Normandy Boys

The inevitable Alpine episode.

We already know that Esteban is going to Haas at the end of the season so this episode is dealing with the fall out from that, Brazil, and then Pierre at Abu Dhabi. Probably should throw in the Oli Oakes appointment somewhere in there too.

This episode starts by re-asserting Pierre and Esteban, Do Not Like Each Other. We see their crash at Monaco as part of a flashback. Esteban comes and tells us why he is leaving Alpine after all these years. He also says that the team was already pushing him out. "they've decided they can only have one, me or Pierre, and they chose Pierre.

You get a brief, 'here's Oli Oakes' bit, I still don't really know what his deal is so I guess I'd like to find out.

A bit more of Pierre and Esteban squabbling. Alpine is doing terribly. then: Brazil. Esteban qualifies 4th. Pierre is 15th, bumped to 13th. Race happens, you guys know how it goes, it's a fairytale. 2-3 for the team. Esteban gets his highest finish since his win. the team move from 9th to 6th in the standings, everyone is overjoyed.

Esteban and Pierre both talk about what this means for them, two boys from the same area of Normandy realising their dreams together despite their differences. They say nice things about each other it's cute.

We then get the final bomb that Esteban will not be racing in Abu Dhabi, Jack will. It's a big mess.

Will Buxton probably, again, says that it must be painful, "you know Esteban Ocon got this team it's only win under their new name, he was the only one who lasted through 2022, with Fernando Alonso and Oscar Piastri leaving the team so controversially, He was the first French Driver to win for the team since Alain Prost. Esteban Ocon, Was Alpine."

Esteban says, yeah, it hurts, to be pushed out like this. But he's looking forward to next season with his new team and teammate to take under his wing.

Oh yeah and somewhere in there mention Flavio Briatore, I just don't know where.

Episode 10: Giants

Mention that Max won the drivers championship back in Vegas, I don't care if you think Lando had a big shot at it so it has to be a storyline, Nope. Max won, it caused drama at Mclaren, we don't need a whole episode of Max v. Lando. What we do need, is Mclaren v. Ferrari. The two longest running teams in F1 history someone calls them the giants of the sport. Have each of the four drivers weigh in at the beginning of the episode. Charles says something vaguely religious about Ferrari, Lando says how it would be a great consolation since he lost the drivers-again, out of context quote people will hate him for anyway, Oscar says something about only being in his second season and being in a championship fight and how they didn't expect this last year, Carlos says something about how winning would be the best parting gift for the team. Fuck it, have Lewis weigh in too. Instead of saying Mercedes AMG Petrona-whatever, his title card reads "2008 World Driver's Champion with Mclaren, 2025 Ferrari Driver". This whole thing is probably lasting too long but they get Zak and Fred in on it too obviously.

You then get a very basic rehash of quali and the race, which really only amounts to Lando Oscar P1 P2, Carlos somewhere, Charles 19th. Championship over. But!!!: we forgot to account for Max Verstappen. Race start and max send Oscar straight to the back. Outrage at Mclaren garage. meanwhile, Charles has made up 11(???) places in one lap, championship fight is back on. show Charles/Oscar climbing back up the order, Charles to 3rd, Oscar only to 10th. The championship relies on Lando keeping the lead. Nervous shots of both garages. Lando almost makes a mistake and saves it. Carlos can't overtake. Lando and Mclaren win!! huzzah. We see some poor Ferrari intern/social media person hiding away the box containing the championship shirts that were definitely made just in case.

Oscar and Lando and Zak and Andrea give happy interviews. Charles and Carlos give sad ones. We think the episode is almost done but then we start getting shots of donuts and hugs and cheers' and then we hear short messages from Valtteri, Zhou, Kevin, and Checo, we've already had Logan and Daniel earlier. Franco also has a hope I'll be back message in there but it's before Checo's. Wait Checo saying Goodbye for now?? he had an extension? Liam replacement announcement comes in and then you have Liam sitting down wearing a Red Bull shirt instead of VCARB, the text replacement thing happens to switch his teams and he says:

"I'm Liam Lawson" then we hear "I'm Ollie Bearman", I'm Andrea Kimi Antonelli", "I'm Jack Doohan", "I'm Gabriel Bortoleto", "I'm Isack Hadjar", "I race for Oracle Red Bull Racing", "I race for Moneygram Haas F1 Team" "I race for Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team" "I race for BWT Alpine F1 Team" "I race for Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber" "I race for Visa Cash App Racing Bulls" and then in unison. "And I'm a 2025 Formula One driver."

Black.

Text on screen says "2025 will have 6 drivers entering their first complete season in f1, the most since *insert year here*" like they did at the end of season 1 with the youngest grid for 2019.

Sorry, no Sauber or Aston Martin Episode, they simply didn't do enough this season to warrant an episode amongst the chaos in my version. if this disappoints you I'm sure Netflix will pull through and give us the unnecessary episodes that take time away from the real drama.

Also if it seems like Ollie Bearman is mentioned too much, A. he's one of my favourites and this is my post, and B. I genuinely think we wouldn't have 6 rookies-ish on the grid this year if Ollie hadn't done so well across his first 2 races and then survived Brazil.

''I don't know what you're doing out here, there aren't any courts around.'' 

Oh, you have to be fucking kidding me. 

Y/N glanced up from her phone, being met with the smiling face of Sebastian- a sight she had been able to ignore the ongoing weekend. 

''The courts don't need me today.'' Her words came out more passive aggressive than she had meant to, but the German driver's sudden appearance caught her off guard. ''Don't you think I should be asking you what you're doing here? I'm afraid you're in the wrong garage.'' She plastered a fake smile on her face, something Sebastian noticed in an instant. 

''Yeah, I, uh, wanted to talk to Lewis.'' He explained, leaning his arm on the wall. 

The Frenchwoman looked to where her partner was standing, deep in conversation with Bono and Angela. ''He's a little busy right now.'' 

''It seems so,'' he didn't glance over Lewis, his eyes staying on her, ''it's been a while since I've seen you.'' Sebastian stated, resting his head against his arm. 

Y/N nodded. ''Yeah, that's true. My schedule hasn't been working out too well with all the races this year.'' Her tennis tournaments and Lewis' races had been coinciding rather too much in her opinion. She felt guilty that she couldn't be there to support her boyfriend as much as he had been there for her. 

''That's too bad, but you've been doing really well this year.'' He told her, unconsciously admitting that he had been keeping tabs on her season. 

The tennis player raised her eyebrow, a little surprised at the unexpected compliment. ''Well, I appreciate that,'' she thanked him, ''although, I hope you're not stalking me.'' Despite the sarcastic tone in her voice, there was a truth to her words. 

''I've always been a fan, you know that.'' The Aston Martin driver retorted. 

Y/N let out a sigh. ''You're not here to see Lewis, are you, Sebastian?'' He got goosebumps as his name left her lips, lots of time had passed since the last time that happened. 

''The word was going around that you were here, wanted to see it with my own eyes.'' Sebastian revealed his real reason for his appearance at the Mercedes garage. 

The woman in front of him had an unimpressed look on her face. ''That's the kinda gossip everyone discusses here? It really gets more boring with each year that goes by.'' If her attendance was the biggest topic of the day, she didn't have very high hopes for the other ''gossips'' that went around the paddock. 

''I mean- you've always been the talk of the town here, haven't you?'' The comment made her cringe, a hard time controlling her facial expressions. ''And normally you make these grand entrances so people weren't too sure whether you were actually here or not.'' 

''I'm here for Lewis.'' Y/N stated, a bigger meaning behind her words than seemed on the surface. 

Sebastian let out a weird mix between a scoff and a chuckle, momentarily glimpsing at the ground. ''I don't doubt that you're here for Lewis, Y/N.'' 

He lied, he did doubt it. Many events had transpired between the pair for him to doubt her intentions and support for his longtime rival and eventually turned friend. Or in other words, Sebastian was convinced he had every right to raise his suspicions over Y/N and Lewis' relationship. 

''Can we not do this now?'' She didn't have the energy or interest to engage in a conversation with Sebastian about the obvious elephant in the room. 

The German had an answer ready, but was interrupted by a curious Brit approaching them. ''Hey, Seb! How are you, man?'' Lewis greeted him, holding out his fist. 

Sebastian quickly dropped the agitated expression on his face, wearing a soft smile instead. ''I'm good, and you?'' 

''Yeah, I'm good- feeling ready for today.'' Lewis was blissfully unaware of the tension in the air, happily grinning while putting an arm around his girlfriend's waist. ''Good conditions, I think it's going to be a nice race.'' 

''I think so too, looked really good out there.'' The younger man confirmed his words, glancing in-between the couple. 

Lewis nodded to what he was saying. ''Where are you starting again?'' The Mercedes driver asked, forgetting where his friend had ended up in qualifying. 

''Oh, P12.'' Sebastian quickly answered. 

''Well, I know you're gonna do great, man.'' Lewis had felt bad for the man, going from a top team to one that could barely make it into Q2. However, he knew Seb and that he would extract everything he could from his car. 

An appreciative smile appeared on the driver's face. ''Thank you, Lewis.'' 

''So, uh, what were you guys talking about?'' 

How his ''friend'' is here to see me and not you. 

A small panic flashed through Sebastian's eyes as he looked at Y/N who seemed more calm about her boyfriend's curiosity. ''Apparently, my attendance today has been the talk of the paddock so far.'' She chuckled, her eyes on Lewis. 

The 7x World Champion giggled at her answer, squeezing her hip. ''Really? That sounds like my girl.'' 

Sebastian observed the way they were wrapped up in each other, an ugly feeling resting in his stomach. He hated how natural it looked for them, how easy it was for them to show affection. Above all, Sebastian secretly despised the way she had her eyes set on her partner. She looked enthralled by Lewis as if he was the only person in the world at that moment. 

He despised it, because that is how the woman's eyes used to stare at him.  

The best word to describe Sebastian and Y/N's history was complicated, and even that term didn't do their relationship justice. 

They first met in 2008 at the Italian Grand Prix where Sebastian took his first ever Formula 1 race win. She had been invited by his French teammate to the Toro Rosso garage, ultimately bumping into the 21 year-old German. 

It didn't take them too long to become close friends; they share a birth year, both are incredibly passionate about their sport and the two of them have a special talent in pushing other people's buttons in a charming way. 

It almost seemed like a cheesy rom com where the two protagonists meet and despite their different careers, they fall in love and live happily ever after. 

However, there is a huge emphasis on the word 'almost', because in a traditional rom com the male protagonist doesn't have a long term girlfriend who he swore he was going to marry someday. In an ideal world, that's where their story should have ended. 

But this isn't an ideal world. 

''He's here for you,'' she pointed from Sebastian to Lewis, ''so I'll leave you two.'' Sebastian wanted to protest, suggesting to leave himself, but she was already making her way to Tiffany who was standing on the opposite side of the garage. 

Sebastian's eyes followed her steps, swiftly turning his head once Lewis started speaking. ''What's up, man?'' 

''Nothing, I just, uh, wanted to, uh,'' the German figured he should have come up with at least a probable excuse to talk to Lewis before coming to the Mercedes camp, ''there's, uh, this new project I'm working on and I would love to talk to you about it, but maybe we can do it another time, I think we, uh, have to get ready.'' He rambled on, simply wanting to go back to his own team. 

''Yeah, that's alright. I can't wait to hear what you've been developing!'' The Brit knew that whatever his friend had been planning, would be a great success and he felt touched that Seb wanted to share his ideas with him. 

Sebastian put up a happy facade to hide his discomfort, ''Thanks,'' guilt crept up on him at the sight of Lewis' genuine excitement over the mere talk about something he had been working on, ''I have to go now, but I'll see you out on track.'' 

They shared a small hug, patting each other on the back. ''Yeah, good luck, man.'' They bid each other goodbye, each resuming their own pre-race routine. 

Y/N has subtly observed the conversation between the two world champions, trying hard not to show her satisfaction at the visible nerves on Sebastian's face and the awkwardness in his behaviour. 

''By the way, I really like your outfit today. It looks great on you.'' Tiffany complimented her, shifting the athlete's focus from Lewis to the Australian cyclist. ''Thank you, I absolutely love your dress! Black really suits you.'' Y/N returned the favour, scanning the woman's dress. 

''Thank you so much, I wasn't too sure about-'' 

''Sorry, Tiff! Can I borrow her for a second?'' Lewis interrupted her, his arms instinctively finding their way around her. 

Tiffany pretended to be offended, but excused them. ''I'll go find my own man.'' She winked, walking over to where Valtteri was getting ready for the race. 

''Seb said that he wanted to talk about some project he had been working on, and I was thinking that maybe we could go and have drinks with him later tonight? Maybe invite Val and Tiffany as well? I don't know, what do you think?'' 

Y/N took in his words, pretending to deeply think about it while already knowing she would not let that happen. ''A project? Did he say what it is about?'' She asked him, attempting to stretch the time she had to think about how she could politely tell Lewis she did not want to get drinks with the Aston Martin driver. 

''He didn't tell me, he said he would tell me after the race.'' Her partner answered, a slight pout on his face. 

Probably something about his bees. 

The younger woman nodded, a bit confused on why Sebastian wouldn't just tell Lewis. ''That's, uh, too bad.'' She noted. 

''So what do you think? You think it's a good idea?'' Lewis asked once again, looking her in the eyes, wanting her validation that it was a great suggestion. 

Y/N shrugged her shoulders. ''Yeah, it's been a while since we've done something with Val and Tiff alone.'' She realised she had to consider Lewis' feelings and if he wanted to get drinks with his friend, he should be able to, even if she didn't like it. 

''I'll suggest it to him when we're done here today,'' he pulled her closer, kissing her temple, ''I have to get ready now. I love you, darling.'' A peck on the lips and Lewis approached Angela who was keeping hold of his gear. 

The race itself wasn't that eventful beside a podium for Lewis. She proudly watched him with the rest of the Mercedes team as he stood on the second top step, sending him a wink and a flying kiss. 

Afterwards, they met up with each other in his driver's room. ''Mon chéri!'' Y/N embraced him, a strong hold on him. ''I know it's not the result you were hoping for, but I'm proud of you either way.'' She cupped his cheeks, hating the disappointment in his eyes. 

''Thank you, love.'' Lewis gave her a quick peck, knowing she isn't a fan of his sweaty form after his races. ''I still have the debrief with the team, but after that we can go and have those drinks.'' 

''Have you, uh, invited them yet?'' She referred to Sebastian, Valtteri and Tiffany. 

He shook his head. ''No, but I'm gonna ask Val now and I'll ask Seb afterwards.'' 

''That's great.'' She said through gritted teeth. Y/N had a small hope that Lewis had been able to ask Sebastian already, and that the German had cancelled or had come up with a believable excuse as to not having to go. 

Lewis pointed to his changing area. ''I'm gonna get out of this and then I'm on my way, darling.'' His champagne covered racing suit started to give him claustrophobia. 

''Okay,'' she smiled at him, ''you know what? I'm going to take a little walk around the paddock, cause I saw Mark earlier and I didn't have the chance to say hi.'' Y/N used to be a Red Bull athlete for almost ten years, making her an old regular of the Red Bull Racing garage. That's also the place where she became great friends with the Australian driver. 

''That's lovely, I'll text you as soon as I'm done, alright?'' Lewis grinned, delighted to hear she wasn't just going to sit and wait around for him. ''Say hi to Mark from me, darling.'' He winked before disappearing and changing into his Mercedes team wear. 

Y/N swiftly freshened herself up, Lewis and his champagne-smelling sweat still lingering on her body. She grabbed her vintage handbag and was out of the hospitality. 

She definitely underestimated how hard it would be to find Mark Webber in a Formula One paddock. Normally, he was quite easy to find or maybe he was always at the right places at the right time. 

The Frenchwoman grabbed her phone from her bag and searched for the Australian's contact, not planning to look like an idiot while searching for him. 

He didn't make her wait for too long, picking up the call after two rings. ''Hello, you cunt.'' Mark warmly greeted, a teasing tone present in his voice. 

''Where the fuck are you? I've been trying to find you for like the past 10 minutes, did you turn into a ghost or something?'' 

''Oh, you would love for me to haunt you, don't you, Y/N?'' She could hear the smirk on his face. 

Y/N almost snorted at his answer. She would have given him a witty comeback if it wasn't for the German man suddenly blocking her way. ''Uh, Markus, I'll call you right back.'' 

''Why?'' 

''There's a hazard in front of me and I don't know how long it's gonna take before it's fixed.'' She answered with an attitude, looking Sebastian right in the eye. 

The ''hazard'' let out a scoff, her straightforwardness seemed to have grown even more over the years. However, he was impressed by the accuracy of his new nickname. 

Mark chuckled on the other side. ''Alright- well, I'm by the paddock club with David so I'll wait here for you, mate.'' He said his goodbye, seemingly understanding that she was being held up by someone she wasn’t a huge fan of. 

Y/N hung up the phone, placing it in her bag again. She wanted nothing more than to cross her arms and roll her eyes at the man in front of her, but they were in public and she was painfully aware of the eyes on them.

The urge to roll his own eyes had never been bigger. ''I'm really happy to see you too, Miss Y/L.'' 

''I really don't have time for this,'' she sighed, ''what can I tell you that's going to make you leave me alone?'' Her bluntness didn't surprise him, she had never been the one to beat around the bush. 

''I just saw you walking by and thought I might join you, you looked a bit lonely.'' He explained himself, his eyes focusing on hers. 

She momentarily frowned, quickly fixing her micro-expressions. ''We both know that's not a good idea, Sebastian.'' His name rolled off her lips with ease. 

''Why's that?'' He played dumb, he was aware why it wasn't a good idea. 

''You really want to go that route?'' She sarcastically chuckled, a taunting smile on her face. ''Okay. Because us talking to each other like this will bring everything up again and I don't want to open those old wounds again, and I don't think you want that either.'' Y/N spoke calmly, but there was a fire behind her words. 

The driver scratched his voice. ''Y/N, people are much more interested in your relationship with Lewis than they are in anything that has to do with me.'' A lot of time had passed, and Sebastian wanted to be able to talk to his old ''friend'' without being scared of what other people thought of it. 

She was disappointed by his response. ''You really don't get it, do you?'' The athlete shook her head. ''Like I said earlier, I don't have time for this. Now, if you will excuse me- I have somewhere to be.'' 

Y/N moved past him, remembered something. ''Oh, and if Lewis asks you to get drinks with us, you say no. Have a nice evening, Vettel.'' 

Just as in the Mercedes garage, Sebastian watched her leave- not minding that he looked like a lost puppy whose owner left them alone at home. 

''Too bad that Seb couldn't go.'' Lewis said, his eyes on the road and his right hand on her thigh. 

Y/N nodded to his words. ''Yeah… did he, uh, explain what his project was?'' She too had been curious about what the German had been working on. 

''Yeah, yeah! He's, uh, gonna do this t-shirt project to spread awareness about certain topics. For example, LGBTQ+, women in motorsport and all that stuff.'' Lewis summarised, echoing what his friend had explained to him. 

His girlfriend continued her nodding along. ''That's very interesting.'' 

''I know. I love how Seb is coming out of his shell these days- like since last year, he's been really stepping up and taking a stance against injustices. He would have never done this 10-12 years ago when he was with Red Bull.'' The Mercedes driver had always admired Sebastian, but ever since he took the knee with him the previous year in regards to the Black Lives Matter movement, Lewis had found a new level of appreciation for his rival. 

''That's really great, Lu. You seem very happy about it.'' No matter how complicated her and Sebastian's relationship was, she was relieved her partner had someone to stand beside him in the matters that he cared about. 

Lewis smiled at her words. ''I really am, darling.'' 

Upon seeing the genuine thankfulness on his face, guilt spread through her body. Y/N had never explained the true nature of her history with Sebastian to her significant other. Of course there were rumours about it back in the day that Lewis was aware of, but to him they seemed obviously overdramatised. 

She was keen on keeping everything that happened between her and Sebastian in his Red Bull days, in the past- Lewis didn't need to know about it. That was about the only thing both her and the German could agree on at the moment. 

The vibration of her phone barged in on her clouded mind.

Y/N had blocked and deleted his phone number years ago, but the 4x World Champion always appeared to always find a way back to her. 

''You're good over there?'' Lewis noticed her instant silence, quite uncharacteristic for her. 

Her head shot towards him. ''Yeah, sorry- something about Wimbledon.'' She mumbled, unsure of what to tell him. 

''Make sure you're there until the second week so I can come and see you play.'' He smirked, taking a glance at her reaction. 

She rolled her eyes at him, making him giggle. ''Great, now I actually have motivation to make it to the second week, not the fact that I have a title to defend.'' Y/N sarcastically thanked him. 

The tennis player had won the tournament three years in a row now, the 2020 edition being cancelled due to the covid pandemic. There was a lot of pressure on her to win the championship again, being one of the top players. 

''I know you're gonna win.'' Lewis stated, matter-of-factly. 

Y/N sighed. ''Don't say that, you know unpredictable these tournaments are, especially on grass.'' She appreciated her partner's confidence in her, but her own over-confidence had bitten her in the ass a few times in the past. 

''I'm sorry, darling. You know you're my number one, you're always the winner to me.'' He squeezed her thigh, caressing it right after. 

The side of her head rested against her chair, an appreciative look in her eyes. ''Merci, mon cher.'' She gave him a slow wink, one that her boyfriend imitated. ''You're welcome, love.'' 

''It doesn't happen that often that I replace Serena as number one, you know? So I'm gonna enjoy this moment.'' She teased, resulting in a pinch to her side from Lewis. 

''Don't you dare tell her, she'll kill me.''

final personal race recap of 2024 time!

first of all before everything flew off, what the Fuck was qualifying. hamilton out in q1, leclerc out in q2 with a 10 PLACE GRID PENALTY, bottas starting p9 in a freaking sauber and hulkenberg qualifying p4 (but he got penalized and dropped 3 places)......and wdym leclerc had FOOD POISONING TOO....does this man's bad luck never cease 😭😭

● when they're all lining up and during the formation lap a bunch of drivers leaving the grid like colapinto and bottas are already saying their goodbyes and im like oh my god i dont go here but this is Emotional (and especially so given that later on....)

● anyways right from lap 1 on turn ONE verstappen goes right into piastri?? both get booted down the ranks and perez immediately spins out and retires right after that mess where kmag and leclerc both somehow jump up like a whole bunch of places.

● piastri hits colapinto! and it turns out that bottas also hit perez previously and all 3 plus verstappen for hitting piastri get penalties Whoops. i heard leclerc shrieking "WOOOOH" on the radio 😂 after leaping up to p8 from p19 which mad respect and then he goes and gains another place right after that!

● albon and zhou both get noted for false starts, and speaking of which tsunoda had a NASTY start with no clutch and the car clearly having issues starting, dropping him way down the grid. on the other end leclerc and hamilton and rapidly going up the ranks with a few midfielders pitting almost as soon as the window is open.

● pits! and alpine decided to pit pierre gasly when he's near the top?? questions but sure alright if that works 😭 he went from mediums to hards like almost everyone else except hamilton who started on hards and soon they all start pitting except vcarb who stick it out and hear one of the most anguished "why?!" i have ever heard from tsunoda.

● it doesn't end there for that team though after they finally pit, lawson says "the wheels aren't on!" which had me squinting at my screen trying to figure out what the hell he meant by that (like. is a wheel gonna end up in the middle of the track??) and he's gotta pit again, leclerc overtakes and is up to p3 in the pit lane, and colapinto is out?? i assumed he had sustained damage from earlier but they say it's a power issue which. okay fair enough because the car is running on $5, duct tape and the dreams of james vowles. 😭😭 that poor garage!

● verstappen and piastri both serve their respective penalties in the pits and oh my god bottas goes right into kmag?? whole bunch of debris on the track (that hamilton calls for a safety car or some action for) and bottas is out?? that is 2 cars out of their final race in formula 1 (though admittedly, colapinto could fight to return from f2) which is honestly really sad....

● the gap between norris and sainz (who has managed to cling onto p2 until now) kept on growing and growing with hamilton leaping tf up to p5 behind russell while the 2 penalty servers have to make up a whole bunch of places 😭😭

● haas puts magnussen on softs after the collision with bottas? i think they're scrapping for points in the bottom half of the constructors' but i'm not sure how close the gap there is. sainz says he ran over some debris (perhaps from said collision?) and i can see the mechanics coming out but they go back in and he continues. (i feel like it's not a race without the ferrari mechanics coming out and going back in without a pit stop)

● the mercedes radio told hamilton "you can do it" after he's told he has a 14s gap with his teammate and to he honest, i thought this was pure delusion because we almost had only 10 laps left but the madman DID IT?! in the split seconds i took to look at the top 3 passing the checkered flag, he miraculously managed to pass russell after fighting for quite a while at the end.

• speaking of radios the gaps between the top 3 are Nasty with sainz 7s behind norris and leclerc a whole 21s behind his teammate which, when leclerc asks and is told about the 7s gap, he simply lets out one f-bomb. valid considering ferrari would have clinched the wcc with just a 1-3 finish (assuming piastri did not finish in the pts at this time)

● final lap!! and lawson's car is stopped out on the track?? yellow flags are hence brought out but too late as the leaders cross the checkered flag! that's a constructors' for mclaren, a 2nd in the wdc and a win for norris, a final p2 for sainz in ferrari who have a 2nd in the wcc, plus a p3 and a 3rd in the wdc for leclerc. (and also a 3rd in wcc for red bull but i honestly forgot about that.)

● p6 for gasly and alpine! they suddenly woke tf up in the last few races

two different works that annoyed me: Emily Hamilton's The Stars Too Fondly. my first clue should have been that this is my least favorite poem, bc ppl would quote it to me smugly after my mom died. im sure they thought they were being so super comforting to a budding astronomer, but, much like how i can no longer eat lasagna bc ppl gave us Twenty! Party! Size! Platters! Of! Lasagna! after my mom died (they would just Appear on our front porch, frozen), too much of this poem really soured me.

i had this book on hold Forever and then delayed delivery twice bc i have not felt like reading lately. here's the publisher's description:

should be catnip for me, right? wrong. starts out as a chat fic, which i hate.

i had a lot of trouble finishing the first chapter, which also has an extended third-person omniscient narrator flashback in italics, a thing i also hate. i KNOW you can figure out how to integrate this information into the book in a better way instead of dumping it in my lap.

i think part of why this is not hitting like i wanted is the tone, because i think this veers more new adult than i was really hoping for. i think introducing a big group all at once is very hard to do effectively. i do not like a series of character introductions that feel like they are trying to sell me action figures. or perhaps blind-bag figures. i do not like a six-deep list of cheesy puns about someone's name. i do not have the patience to see if this debut novel finds its footing a little later on, though i am glad a sapphic ghost in the machine romance exists in this world.

i also read dean motter's mister x (both the original late eighties through early nineties run and the 2008 follow-on).

the art in this comic book is really and truly stunning. everyone was firing on all cylinders. beautiful retrofuturistic advertisement vibes, very fun play with panels and word balloons while still being readable, there are airships, you know how it is. looooooooove a hardboiled noir.

the Concept of mister x, this horrible awful futuristic city that grinds its citizenry up and spits them out? both figuratively and sometimes literally? love it!!! love a great wounded beast of a city as a character!!!

unforch the "who is mister x" subplot does not resolve in a satisfying way, imo. there's a lot of flip-flopping, there's a lot of options, he ends up being (maybe?) someone he was very definitively proven NOT to be in an earlier issue, and it really soured me on the whole experience. and also i don't believe it! that specific person makes no fucking sense! who mister x is, is by far the least interesting part of the series. tell me more about how he's fixing the city. show me more of the city. shut up and dance, robot artists

X-Men: Apocalypse (2016, dir. Singer). this movie did not need to be two and a half hours long. appreciated the EXTREMELY divorced energy from charles & erik though, quicksilver rescuing the school scene was also very fun. my bestie's husband has informed me we are NOT watching Dark Phoenix, i'm not sure if we're going to loop back and watch the ??? number of wolverine films or if we're going to see how i feel about deadpool. bc i find this character insufferable through clips only.

there is a feature in the video game genshin impact to turn your World Level (TM) down in order to make overworld enemies a little easier. i am at seven out of nine bc i genuinely can't finish the boss to unlock world level 9, and i am finding some of the overworld enemies too hard at 8 and want to finish the achievements in a more relaxed fashion.

saturday morning/saturday evening. plants? repotted. porch and stairs? swept. old wasp nests? knocked down. different mirror on the porch to go out to the curb when i have the energy? yes. also a giant slab of engineered stone from the top of a dresser but that's out of frame.

speaking of the giant broken dresser that was in my apartment when i moved in just over a year ago, i ripped it apart with a crowbar and threw it in the dumpster. put my pretty zebrawood desk in the empty space and started thinking about what to hang on that wall. the wall across from it is maps, bc i think a cozy office should have lots of maps and it makes a good video conference background. maybe this will be the dedicated cowboy nonsense wall. i did so much dusting and vacuuming and mopping and the girls can't even hang out in here bc the orange boy is in the office bathroom. big sigh.

also a lot of driving around and emailing and calling thirty shelters and rescues figuring out how to get this orange man a home. please take this orange man off my hands.

im so scared i showered for like a straight hour and doused myself in perfume immediately after
