One character I really love in Yellowjackets is Akilah. She tries so hard to fight against the wilderness, but doesn't realize it's already toying with her. Where others see things as 'signs' or outright ignore those things because they simply don't believe in it, Akilah tries to reject the wilderness, but she can't. She plays with Nugget, who to both her and us, the audience, is alive and well, but to everyone else it's already a dead, decaying corpse. And her reaction to Tai pointing out it's dead is so important: she believes it. From that moment on, she, too, realizes it's dead. Similarly, later, she can't bring herself to eat it, which would almost parallel Shauna eating Jackie's ear. But she can't. Because she doesn't believe in the wilderness. Just like she wants to save Javi when he's drowning. Because deep down, she rejects the wilderness.

almost like tsams monty, took it upon himself to just come out. Went out rebranding himself, and since fazbear is cheap (we know this), roxy just modified themselves which works in this universe cause robots and like. its mostly paint and buffering (HE REALLY WANTED PANTS) He's winning basically.

As much as i love Dungeon Meshi, i do think that given Ryoko Kui's attention to realistic worldbuilding there ought to be a companion series called Dishes Meshi where they spend 2hrs washing and drying and packing away. Alll the goddamnfuck dishes they just made

this is definitely an intersection of my aromanticism and my pedantic nature, but i do enjoy it so much when it's emphasised that it wasn't (usually romantic) love that "fixed" someone or made them "complete", nor was it love that they were missing, but instead comfort, or safety, or a sense of purpose, or simply an opportunity to stop and rest for a while. when far more basic, animal desires take precedence, and are acknowledged to be no less meaningful or worthwhile to pursue. and perhaps love was there, and perhaps it helped to facilitate their fulfilment, but it was never a necessary condition, and its recipients wouldn't have been any less deserving of having their needs met if they weren't loved.
