♇ i believe this post and theory needs an introduction, you have to read this very carefully because my time here has proven to me that a lot of people here lack media literacy, so i am here to say that this post was inspired by Alyssa Sharpe and i dove into the matter with my own research and i'm here to say that 99.5% of my own specific research for this topic was correct.

♇ if you have watched one of alyssa sharpe's videos, especially the future spouse videos on her tiktok, she said moon, juno or groom can convey and inform someone about their future spouse, but they're not strong enough, thus, the only thing that can talk about the wife and the husband is jupiter.

♇ there's many arguments that jupiter is only about the husband and the wife is venus, or that jupiter is not the sole indicator for the husband or future spouse, and i respect their perspectives, but this one specifically is my own, which is influenced by alyssa sharpe.

♇ i have gone through mostly 30+ couples, specifically celebrity couples and i have been able to identify that jupiter had almost correlated with all of their future spouse's big 6; and if their jupiter sign did not correlate within the signs in their spouse's big six, then it had meant that it likely connected with their ascendant, sun, moon or jupiter, specifically with conjunct aspects.

if anybody wants to do some casual "Putting MCC VODs On Archive Dot Org" here is a little wishlist

- technoblade! so far I have only found techno's mcc highlight videos saved on archive (in a large cache of all his videos); because of that there are no techno mcc vods on archive that I've found. he has 11 vods that need to go up (0/11)

- in general, because youtube streams appear less volatile than twitch vods, they tend to be saved to archive less. i would love someone to upload smallishbeans (3/26), ryguyrocky (6/15), and mcc pride 2021 (3/25) vods in particular, but any youtube stream is helpful

- the simmers are in pretty dire straits, probably because they're more on the outskirts of the mcyt community: vixella (0/9), kryticzeuz (2/19), james turner (0/8), drgluon (0/14)

- the captain himself has a very reliable vods channel but I'm a big believer in backups. he's currently at 7/32 - most of the needed vods are seasons 1 and 2

- niki nihachu has only 3/12 right now and she deserves better imo

- fwhip is sitting at a pretty 1/11 vods and could use a little help

- the admin stream is the single POV with the most vods! while im now uploading each new admin POV to archive, there's still two seasons' worth of noxcrew streams to put up there (6/37)

btw im not trying to force anybody to upload vods, this is more of a "hey if you want to do this, as of august 12 2023 there are 676 vods and 96 highlights videos that should be backed up to archive and heres a few places to start".

so im 99.999999% certain this is bullshit but i just came across an app called calmara which markets itself as a sexual wellness tool for women where you can send in a photo of your partner's genitals as a "peen check" to see if they have STIs.

im not sure if it only works on penises, but it apparently uses kind of AI algorithm to check for the STIs. apparently the algorithm can identify more than 10 STIs in 60 seconds with an accuracy of 96%.

again, 99.99999% that claim holds the same amount of water as a bone dry desert but im not a sex witch so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

the app itself has ethical issues abound but im curious as to whether theres anything to that claim.

here's the thing:

even if we overlook that it's extremely weird for an app to ask for pictures of people's dicks and that that's just a shitshow re: privacy

and even if accept that this app can, somehow, successfully identify visible symptoms of sexually transmitted infections without being fooled by normal variations in genital appearance

we're still left with the fact that even low estimates hold that around half of all people with STIs have no symptoms, and that the genitals are not the only place that can be infected by many STIs. several common infections can be transmitted by having oral sex with someone with an infection in their mouth and/or throat. it sounds like this all is only going to catch the most egregiously visible genital warts or herpes sores, which you could likely notice yourself anyway.

so, you know. wildly incomplete information, certainly not useful enough to justify how dodgy to be collecting pictures of people's junk.

one of the really interesting implications of the showcase '96 brainiac and legion story that im only just wrapping my head around is the true extent of colu's relationship to tech stagnation. obviously a lot of this is spelled out with brainiac possessing coluan tech that querl recognizes from his own time:

slightly more subtle is the way the passage of the time itself seems to be affected:

the specific naming of 700 years is what gave me pause here--the sleepnet was not created in the 27th century as querl says, it must predate that by at least the 7 centuries it takes to get back to the 20th century setting of the showcase. i believe the implication here, then, is that there was more than just a technological stagnation but a time stagnation: colu literally stops keeping track of the passage of time, seals itself up in amber and pretends its still exactly where it was when this happened, the 20th century. that 700 years date can even stay intact, only in real time it refers to the 17th century (ie 300 years past from colu's current tech development, which stops in the 20th, querl is doing correct math but assuming that 'current' means the 30th).

colu is therefore a place out of time, staying the same as things pass by around it. querl is taken out of colu, placed back into normal time, not only becomes a time researcher at the time institute but a time traveler as a legionnaire. ultimately the place he goes back to in time is identical to the one he was taken out of, a colu at standstill. he says that 'only a time traveler would know about the sleepnet', but somewhat ironically, only a time traveler would know that colu has not been counting the years; querl only gets to know it because he is one and sees the mismatch between what time actually passed (1000 years) and what time passed for colu (none).

hi ! Im soo happy that you're enjoying them, theyre fun kids ! I ended up writing more than expected so please see under the cut <3

So the knights are a bit of a dynasty in terms of ohl teams. They've actually only won the memorial cup (best team out if all teams in the canadian hockey league) twice but if you look at the team awards. They were a bit of a powerhouse last year and swept a couple of their playoff series which is crazy. They're known for their player development and have produced a ridiculous amount of nhl players.

The sheer amount of nhlers that come from the knights is crazy, just the leafs for example have four currently on their roster in john tavares, mitch marner, max domi, anthony stolarz. The leafs president brendan shanahan is also an alumni. Other notable active alumni include nazem kadri (cgy), matthew tkachuk (cats), nikita zadorov (bos), bo horvat (nyi) and others but genuinely there are too many to list.

I am obviously leafs brained so if you want to talk about the mitch marner easton cowan parallel then welcome to the club! Cowboy first of all is beloved, drafted 28th overall by the leafs and largely considered to be a flop pick by the media, went on to put up a 96 point in 56 game season, as well as a 36 game point streak setting a new franchise record and winning ohl mvp. He then went on to score 34 points in their 18 game playoff run winning mvp for the playoffs as well. He is the first player to win both regular season and playoff mvp in the same season since mitch marner. He is an alternate captain this year, and made canadas world juniors team last year, and I love him.

Other notable players (TO ME) include:

Denver barkey: drafted in the 2nd round by the flyers 2023. NEWLY MINTED CAPTAIN 🫡, darling boy with the face of a doll. Was selected to be part of a collaboration with snoopdog and nhl enforcers??? has he ever won a fight? No.

Oliver bonk: drafted 22nd overall by the flyers 2023, assistant captain, and part of the 2024 canadian world juniors team. His dad played In the nhl for 14 years ! Noted worst aux on the team but seemingly unaware. Just seems very sweet and I like him :)

Sam Dickenson (number three london knights): drafted in the first round by the sharks but bc they also got mack this year he was kind of overshadowed. They also don't have anything linking them like a team usually would push for, probably bc of the fwd/defence divide and also bc mack already got a government issued boy best friend in will smith. I love him though, he was their baby last year and he's a brat bc of it. heart and soul of the teams social media

ive seen your posts, and saying that radfems believe literally every single man ever is Wicked and Not Oppressed In Any Way (and therefore we completely disregard any other axis of oppression such as race, sexuality and class) is quite the strawman.

i have met some pretty dreadful women and girls and relatively decent boys. radfems do not believe men are intrinsically evil or other sex essentialist bs.. there is nuance in oppression as sex is not the only way to be oppressed, but even rich (in the few cases where its the women own money and not her husband/father/male relatives) western, white, straight, feminine women experience misogyny; in fact its literally the only way a woman so privileged can experience oppression, in the form rape (96% of rapists are men including men who rape men), domestic abuse, wage gap, glass ceiling, harassment at work, etc... all problems faced by women disportionately/solely, and who even the most oppressed man alive would not face, and when men face violence, it is mostly carried out onto them by men.

I’m not mischaracterizing radical feminism at all, I’m afraid. The essentialism comes down to “all women victims, all men oppressors” whether it’s ever meant to or not. We see irl white women weaponize their sex and their race to oppress black men(who are seen as predators for being black and for being men).

The mere fact there is no framework and minimal sources and support group for the reformation of men is what currently makes it difficult-er to move forward. As bell hooks succinctly put it “in order to have loving men, we must love men.”

When we forget that the enemy is the patriarchy(the framework that puts men and women into seperate, distinct categories with rigid gender roles) and instead believe the root(as radical is meant to be used as in the terms of Radical Feminism) is men. We forget, brush over, ignore how women add into the patriarchal landscape by making patriarchal men and women.Yes, this is our work to do as well, even as females, as social women. To unpack and recognize how we may be contributing to this system of oppression. Misogyny is not solely a male problem, and it is everyone’s job to learn and teach how to unpack it.

Hellooo! Hope ur doing well :) I wanted to ask some recommendations on how I shld build my cyno as I recently got him.. 😵‍💫

hi anon! im so happy that you asked me hehe 💕💕 i have a whole guide for you! (more under the cut!)

so starting off with 5* weapons, i really recommend his bis/sotss (staff of the scarlet sands)! the 2nd stat for it’s crit rate and cyno gains 52% of his em as a bonus atk. i personally love this weapon and i recently got it for him :D it’s really good for him <3 

next, i heard that staff of homa is also good on him! it gives crit dmg and this weapon provides an atk bonus based on 0.8% of his max hp! 

but i personally like primordial jade winged-spear because i like my crit rate! for this weapon, every time cyno hits an opponent, his atk increases by 3.2% for 6 seconds. (this stacks 7 times i think) and if he gets the max stacks, his dmg will increase by 12%. 

(those are the best 5* weapons on him but if you have any other ones, feel free to spoil him with them!) 

now, for the others/f2p/4*! i won’t go in-depth because i don’t know much about them! 

deathmatch (bp/paid) - 2nd stat : crit rate. i bought this just for cyno when i got him last year (polearms and polearm users hate me so i didn’t have a good polearm) and it’s really good! the only downside is that it’s locked behind money and the base atk is rather low :( 

white tassel (chests) - 2nd stat : crit rate. a good choice, 48% dmg boost makes a large difference, especially if players are playing cyno in an aggravate team comp.

blackcliff pole (shop/paimon’s bargains) - 2nd stat : crit dmg. a fully refined blackcliff pole with a full-stack can perform as well as an r1 primordial jade winged-spear! good for cyno, but again, i really like my crit rate. (deathmatch >>> blackcliff pole imo) 

missive windspear (event) - 2nd stat : atk. within 10s after an elemental reaction is triggered, atk is increased by 24% and em is increased by 96 at r5! the em increase is really good too!

kitain cross spear (forgeable) -  2nd stat : em. this weapon will increase his elemental skill damage by 6%. it has an em sub-stat, which is really good if you’re using cyno in an elemental reaction team.

prototype starglitter (forgeable) -  2nd stat : er. it has an er sub-stat, which is great at helping cyno recover his elemental burst energy.

(i ranked all of them in order!)

moving onto artifacts!

i’m currently running a 4p thundering fury set on my cyno! it’s said to be the best set for him, it “increases dmg caused by overloaded, electro-charged, superconduct, and hyperbloom by 40%, and the dmg bonus conferred by aggravate is increased by 20%. when quicken or the aforementioned elemental reactions are triggered, elemental skill cd is decreased by 1s. can only occur once every 0.8s.” tl;dr:  the dmg increase via electro reactions really helps and the elemental skill cd makes his skill more spam-able during his ult!

i’m currently farming gilded dreams because i got told tat his bis/sotss is better with the set (i still use thundering fury tho!) i can’t explain gilded dreams to you because i don’t use it but it definitely has something to do with em! 4p is best when running hyperblume or aggravate!! 

4p gladiator’s finale is something i’ve seen many many people use! i’ve never tried it (maybe this is a sign i should?) but it does seem really strong!  “if the wielder of this artifact set uses a sword, claymore or polearm, increases their normal attack dmg by 35%.” to sum it up, 4p gladiator’s finale increases cyno’s normal attack dmg by 35%, even in his ult/burst!

some other things i’ve seen are 2p gilded dreams + 2p thundering fury, 2p gladiator finale + 2p shimenawa reminiscence, 2p thundering fury + 2p shimenawa reminiscence/gladiator’s finale, etc! feel free to mix and match them <3

lastly, artifact stats! 

main stats - for the sands, i suggest atk or em! (it usually depends on the set. i use an em sands because i use thundering fury and not gilded dreams!) for goblet,it would be suggested to use an electro dmg bonus goblet, and circlet a crit rate/dmg recommended. (circlet also depends on the weapon. eg, crit rate weapon usually would be paired with a crit dmg circlet, and so on.) 

sub stats - crit rate/dmg, elemental mastery, atk% i say cyno’s ideal em range would be 200 - 400! (i have around 300 right now!)

(to sum the artifacts up, it all depends on what comp you want to use him in/how you want to use him! i personally think thundering fury is more viable due to the strong box. i farm gilded dreams, then take all the bad ones to thundering fury’s strong box.)

here’s my cyno incase you want a reference (it’s really not the best &lt;/3)

tl;dr - staff of the scarlet sands, primordial jade winged-spear, and staff of homa are all really good on him! if you don’t have any 5 stars, white tassel, missive windspear, deathmatch and blackcliff pole are good replacements. his artifact sets are thundering fury or gilded dreams and em is a really good stat!

“Hello!” Beatrice calls once she enters Hard Deck by the employee’s entrance, popping out her airpods to slide them inside her bag shoulder, “I’m not late, am I?” she calls to Penny who’s currently fixing the tables ahead of her.

“No, you are just on time!” she calls, her voice a bit muffled since Bea put her bag inside the little closet area for employees. She checked her appearance before going out on the mirror hanging on the wooden wall, pulling her dark brown hair up in a bun and fixing her Led Zeppelin shirt, wiping the dust off her jeans before finally walking out. Once she gets out, Penny is turning the lights on in the back area of the bar that leads to the beach. 

Meanwhile Beatrice grabs one of the bags of ice, carrying it to the ice machine behind the bar, plopping the cold cubes down the container, crumpling the plastic bag once it was empty to toss in the recycler. “I’m here, babes!” a voice calls, then a blonde head of hair shows up, “Hope you two didn’t do everything with me gone!”

“Just waiting for your presence,Michelle!” Penny calls, looking over her shoulder to press a kiss to her niece’s cheek, when she hugs her “Hi, honey, Bea is already here.”

“Bumblebea!” Bea smiles when the blonde comes over to the employees closet as well, removing her denim jacket to expose the low cut red tank top and jeans. “Need help?” Bea nods, pointing to the other bags of ice in the corner, “Friday night, tonight will be a long night huh?”

“Sure will.” Bea noted, the two of them dumping the rest of the ice “How was your date though? With the policeman?” the brunette asked, chuckling when the blonde girl rolled her eyes with a sigh.

“I swear, police officers are the clingiest guys.” Shells said, grabbing the empty bags from Bea’s hand to shove down the recycler, “He didn’t want to leave! I kept saying, ‘hey i gotta go to work,’ and he asked where I worked and I told him he didn’t need to worry about that.”

 The two of them then marched to the storage room area where Shells grabbed a box of handkerchiefs. “Then he said ‘oh it’s not a problem, I can take you’ and–and! Then he said ‘I like you a lot.’ Like!! We’ve only hooked up twice!...” she shakes her head, “I just told him it’d be better if we didn’t contact each other anymore and it was fun while it lasted.”

“He accepted that?”

“Course not, called me a bitch all the way out, I think I saw tears in his eyes before he left.” Shells shrugs, waiting on Bea to grab the recycled straws from the upper shelf, then turns off the light once her friend walks out “I swear, I’ll give up on Tinder like you did. It’s insane!”

Bea chuckles, opening the bag of straws to put them inside a glass, “I mean, you know my sister found her husband on Tinder.”

“Um, yeah, but he’s a handsome doctor from London with the body of a god and deep bronze skin. He’s like a beautiful statue!”

“I shouldn’t have never shown you their wedding picture.” Bea laughs, shaking her head with amusement. “and to think I just wanted to show you how pretty the location was.” the two of them looked at the clock, seeing they had little time before the bar opened for the public, so they had to finish everything up quickly.

Once they did and the bar opened, it exploded with people, the voices getting louder the more people entered. Music floated on the air, much to Bea’s delight as she hummed to herself with the songs. 

To think, just a few months ago she was looking for a job to help her with the bills and if it wasn’t for Shells and Penny, she’d never get it.

Beatrice is from a tight, traditional Italian family. While they are progressive in certain areas, most of her family doesn’t think women…should do much. If they have a job it should be a useful job, like banking or something like that, not Liberal arts. Which was what she always wanted to do, being a creative person since she was a child, she just wanted to work with what she liked.

But being the youngest of six siblings, the literal baby that had to stay home while her older siblings went out to live their lives out of state or even out of the country she had very little control in certain choices. Maybe it was the empty nest syndrome, with all her siblings gone from the house, her parents only had herself to… take care of in a way. It took years for her to actually go to her choice in college,juggling between work and long study hours, choosing to leave her job once she had enough money saved up to help herself once she got her place.

During college was when she met Michelle, or Shells, who took her to the Hard Deck a few times. It was distant from her job and her parents’ house and Beatrice loved it. She loved the atmosphere, she felt welcome by Penny and even if this was a Naval bar she didn’t feel like she was intruding in some way.

When Shells mentioned they needed one more person at the bar, Bea said yes immediately. Her parents weren’t happy with her choice, but they couldn’t stop her, especially since her own siblings supported it. So now she was here, working, happy, focusing on how she’d continue her career as an artist.

The bell rang, drinks were served, people were dancing. It was a nice night so far. Bea was washing one of the glasses when she heard a cacophony of voices that she heard a few times and her body heats up. She couldn’t help but just stare at him, he stood out of his group like a beautiful floral patterned thumb. With her eyes following him until they all sat down on their usual spot, Bea couldn’t help but bite her lower lip, feeling her cheeks warm up even more when he laughed at something.

“Ohhhhh, cock-a-doodle-doo huh?” Shells’ teasing voice snapped her out of her staring, Bea’s green eyes wide as saucers, seeing her friend’s teasing grin, “How long until you finally make a move?”

“I…I don’t know what you mean.” she continued washing the same glass, the squeaking sound of the sponge rubbing against it giving her some of a distraction.

“Bea, please,” Shells took the glass from her hand, then tilted her head, “You look at that man like he hangs up the moon every time he comes by.” but her friend then turned to the opposite side, focusing on checking the liquor bottles. Shells sighed, coming to her friend’s side and crossing her arms, the brunette trying too hard to keep her eyes on the label.

“This is a 1975, right?”

“Bea.”

“I can’t really see, the label is a bit faded–” the bottle disappears from her hand, Beatrice snapping her gaze to Shells, who holds the liquor under her crossed arms, her eyebrows going up to her hairline. Beatrice sighs defeatedly, “I…I don’t know what you want me to say.” she shrugs “He’s so…” she groans, covering her face with her hands, “He’s so…so hot,Shells. and he sings! and-and he’s funny and…he’s everything I’ve always wanted in a guy.”

“One more reason to go to him.” Shells whispers, “He’s single and handsome. You are single and gorgeous.” the blonde held her fingers up in a V position, before joining the two with a kissing sound, “Perfect match.”

Bea frowned, “It’s not that simple.” she murmured “I…I mean…look at me Shells.” she spread her arms to emphasize. But her friend just frowned, “Oh come on, like…look at me I’m not the type of girl who gets guys like that.”

She was a curvy gal, always had been. Normally, she wouldn’t mind it, but when it comes to guys, more especially when it comes to Rooster she just lost a good amount of confidence. He was literally adonis personified, just the most beautiful man she had ever seen. and she felt less than pretty when she remembered the type of girls that surrounded him or worked with him. 

“You know that’s not true.” Shells said with her voice low, a kind smile on her face, “You have as much chance as any girl out there.” Bea however scoffed, “You gotta believe in yourself Bea. You are gorgeous, any guy would be lucky to have you.”

The brunette’s eyes stung with unshed tears, the same eyes she clenched shut in hopes to hold them in. Memories of past relationships flooding her brain, bringing memories she wished to forget “Can we not talk about this anymore?” Shells is about to say something else but a customer calls for a refill, which Bea thanks every powerful being for, slapping on a smiling mask, “Coming right up!”

Shells only watches her friend go to the opposite side to serve one of the guys there, laughing when he says something to her - clearly drunk -  before walking away. Shells’ stare broke when she heard the bell ring, turning on to face the person. 

She immediately smiled wider, “Hi Bob.”

She likes Bob, she thought he not only was sweet he was also so smart. He knew he had a hard time with the group, especially Jake, but he was getting there. She leaned on her elbows, giving him a sweet smile, “What can I get you?”

The way his cheeks flushed and his eyes tried to look anywhere but the cleavage she put on display was so cute, “Oh, uh, just more beer?”

“Sure! Should I put it in your tab?”

“Yes,please.”

Shells went to the fridge to grab the beers, then paused, sending a look to where Beatrice was currently talking to two female customers. She then looked over her shoulder to Bob, who smiled at her, then past Bob to where his group was…a devilish thought showed up in her brain, “Why don’t you wait with the others? I’ll bring it to you.” 

“Oh, okay! I’ll be there then.”

With the beers on top of a tray, she sent one last look to her friend who was still busy, then sped her step maneuvering through the crowd until she reached them. “There you go, more fuel for the pilots.” she teased, making them laugh while switching the empty bottles with the full ones, throwing some quick looks to her brunette friend, “So,” she rested the empty tray on her hip, “What else can I get you?”

“Your number would be nice, sweetheart.” Jake was quick to say, sending her a wink with the bottle to his lips.

Shells chuckled, “I meant something achievable,Hangman.”

“I think we are all fine.” Phoenix says, “Thanks Shells.”

“Hey, not a problem. Oh, just letting you guys know, I’ll go on a break in a few minutes so if you guys need anything else, you can ask Bea.” She kept an eye on everyone, but especially Rooster. The way his eyes just snapped to her friend made her insides flip in triumph, the little smirk on her face hidden by her biting the inside her cheek, “She’ll gladly serve you.”

Rooster’s eyes finally left the brunette at the bar counter, meeting Shell’s knowing blue gaze only to clear his throat and look away again, “Well” she drawled, walking backwards, sending them a salute, “Enjoy the night!”

The moment Shells approached the bar, she ran to her aunt, whispering something in her ear. Both Penny and Shells looked in Beatrice’s direction, who was leaning down to pick something behind the bar, unaware of the scheming happening behind her back.

Once the time came for Shells to have her break, Penny kept an eye on Beatrice. It took just a few seconds for a known pilot to approach the bar, the bell rang and Beatrice turned around with a wide smile, a smile that faltered for a quick second before returning - albeit a lot milder than before - “Hi!” her voice was higher, so she cleared her throat, “Um,hi.”

“Hey.” Rooster replied, leaning his elbows over the counter, which made Bea suck in a hard breath once she saw the curve of his pecs underneath the white tank top, “Can you believe I came here to get more beer? Just three this time though.”

She couldn’t help but huff out a chuckle, covering her mouth with her hands then “Well, it is a bar.” she adds, “I would be surprised if you came here for groceries.”

When he laughed at her joke she almost felt like fainting, biting her lower lip hard with her head dipped, “I-I’ll go get it.” practically power walking towards the freezer where she stood for a few minutes, letting the cool air hit her cheeks as she tried to calm herself. She shook her head for a quick moment, grabbing the beers between her fingers and turning back around, almost letting out a yelp of surprise to see he was still looking at her “There you go.”

“Thanks.” but he didn’t leave, pointing his index finger at her “Bea, right?” she nods with a small smile, “It’s weird, I’ve seen you for a while and never got your name.”

Maybe because she chickened out every time he seemed to want something, ending up telling Shells to do it, “Oh, well,” she only gave him a weak shrug, then felt like her arms were too exposed, quickly lacing her hands behind her back to hide them the best she could, “I haven’t been here long.”

He hummed, a tiny smile on his face, “I’m Rooster.”

“I know,” she blinks when his eyebrows raise in amusement, “I-I mean, I heard Penny and Shells talking about you and heard your name being called around.” her face was so warm she felt like she was boiling. She hoped the light above her head hid her blush from his view. “I…is there anything else I can get you?”

“I don’t think so, no.” he looks back at his friends, seeing they are still chatting amongst each other. Then his eyes travel to the splotches of ink on her upper arms, the parts that weren’t hidden behind her. However before he could ask her about them, she snaps her head ahead when she sees someone on the table lifting their glass.

‘Sorry I–” she moves her own finger over his shoulder, “I gotta go get this.”

“Oh, oh no no, yeah, go ahead.” he smiled and her knees almost buckled just like that, “I’ll go back then.”

“Okay.”

“Okay.”

They stood there for a bit longer, until Rooster shook his head, picking the beers with one of his hands “I’l see you around then,Bea.” he smiles then turns on his heel back to the other pilots. Bea just stood there, face flaming and eyes wide, then she cleared her throat walking out from behind the bar to the table.

Penny, who watched the entire ordeal, just smiled, sending Shells a quick text once no one was looking:

“It’s on.”

my current running theory is that the ice floes will interfere in phos's transformation in some way

i get that that sounds far-fetched, since i feel like the ice floes have kind of a comedic reputation (mainly because of baby phos's hijinks) but i really do think they're going to have an important role in the end of the story

especially with this ominous note in the lorebook

i went and compiled some manga panels that stood out to me,, i dont know if all of them are relevant to future chapters, but i figured it couldn't hurt to mention them

note: gonna contain spoilers for essentially all of the manga, specifically the end will talk about chapter 96 (it does have a little warning thingy though so... theres that)

gonna break chronological order real quick: i believe that kongo's brother has a connection to the ice floes.. i am not sure if they are the only entity controlling them, but i think that theyre at least a part of the floes.

the hnk wiki states this as fact, but the translation i read was very vague as to whether the ice floes referred to the humans that died in the impact, or if it meant kongos brother. after all, the admirabilis come from the sea... regardless i do think the hnk wiki is correct: his broken "eye" is present in both the destruction-of-kongo's-brother panel and ocean panel. (i think it being an eye is important, what with kongos eye and all -- however im not sure if thatll be relevant)

im gonna call them icebox for now since that's less of a mouthful than kongos brother .

starting in chronological order: while he seems surprised at first, kongo skirts around the question of whether or not it's normal for phos to clearly hear the ice floes. either way, we know that phos is capable of understanding them

i think the implication that antarc knows the truth of the machines is also potentially worth noting. antarc says that they can't make out the ice floes speech, however, if sensei--potentially the only person who knows aside from icebox and the lunarians--didn't tell them, then... well, combined with the ominous ice floe panel, and the amount of time that antarc has presumably spent in the ice fields, i feel like there's just one option. it doesn't hurt that antarc looks slightly nervous when sensei and phos discuss the floes

one contradiction that stood out to me is the question of the ice floes' intelligence. kongo says that the ice floes are merely reflections of one's own insecurities, and nothing more. however, in these panels, they are acknowledged as beings who are capable of bribery and seem to have their own ambitions. not only that, but beings that seem omnipotent enough to know of how important phos was to aechma's plans--he doesn't say that they took phos's arms to bribe kongo, he implies that the ice floes explicitly did that to bribe the lunarians

however, i dont think we should write off the ice floes ability to reflect emotions as just a kongo coverup... mainly because i cant see kongo lying directly but also because i think that's going to be thematically significant in the future

i've always been kind of curious as to what icebox was designed for... kongo was explicitly designed to act as a prayer machine, but his creation seems like the aftermath of his brother's actions. im really not sure of this one, so i'd love to see if you guys have any ideas

either way, i think their two 'functions' (kongo's ability to help people find peace & his brother's/the ice floe's ability to reflect the despair of others) are thematically relevant. especially when it comes to the idea of change. for example, sensei's function fundamentally defies change -- in a way, thats what a peaceful passing means. he's also vaguely resistant to change in his actions throughout the series: he molds the gems to look just like humans, not just in terms of appearance but also how they see labor. when the lunarians attack the gems, he does nothing to change this--simply trying to retain the status quo. the lunarian's main complaint about him is that no matter their methods, he refuses to change in response.

meanwhile, the ice floes' most narratively important scene involves them coercing phos to finally make a change. and, technically, they do get their way. not only do they get their way, but the aftermath causes the first drastic change we see in phos. not only this, but you could argue that icebox caused the greatest change in the entire series through causing the impact. their power to reflect someone's emotions is a tool to force change, regardless of whether that change would be a wise or healthy decision.

⚠️ attention: chapter 96 spoilers below

gonna get my more absurd theory out of the way first: i dont think ichikawa had aechma mention the disappearance of admirabilis souls without a reason, and if i'm correct and the ice floes do end up being a big part of future chapters, i feel like it would flow (tehee) much smoother if they were involved somehow... so my more absurd theory is that the creation of admirabilis involved the sinners in the ice floes in some way--and when they die they return to that limbo. i don't necessarily 100% believe this myself, and i'd probably go with the "admirabilis don't turn into lunarians because they're the flesh of humanity" theory if it hadn't been brought up in-story.

anyway if you guys are still with me after that one: when talking about phos, aechma specifically brings up that it could be dangerous to interfere in phos's transformation/constant state of change... this feels like a sort of chekhovs gun set-up to me, especially since i don't expect phos transformation to simply go smoothly throughout the entirety of those 10,000 years

however... i don't expect either the lunarians or the lustrous to interfere, and aechma specifically mentions taking the remaining earth admirabilis to the moon. as euclase put it, phos is the only one left... except for the ice floes

if i'm right, and the ice floes are kongo's brother, this could get even more complicated if phos inherits any of kongo's memories... and moreso if phos starts to believe that they are kongo

i'd love to see other people's theories when it comes to this, i feel like ive only hit the tip of the iceberg here (Sorry ❤)
