so, after not having access to my PC or time to draw for several days i had a cool idea i wanted to try but of course it didnt work out

so im posting the one screenshot i made and how far i got (its not very far and i got desperate at the end just spinnign around the colors in hopes it would solve whatever issue is blocking me from drawing properly..)

idea was to show just how scary it would be to encounter demise randomly in the land, hes really big in my story and its rarely clear bc in what i have drawn so far hes mostly only next to hylia and with her being taller than him they look rather reasonably sized

The assumptions people are making on Veilguard bc ALL decisions won’t carry over are insane to me “OH so morrigan won’t mention her ONLY SON!! or her roMANCE??”. We have no idea what context or capacity she’s going to be in the game? In skyhold, she stayed at skyhold for a while, so it made sense to chat her up and ask about her life. Also Kieran was THERE bc he was TEN. Kieran is now in his twenties and most likely living his own life. If we’re saving the world and fighting darkspawn WHY would her grown ass son come up? Esp when she doesn’t even know Rook?? Like i would understand if we had veilguard in our hands and people were complaining bc Morrigan actually had dialogue invalidating their canon but for fuck’s sake the game isn’t even out yet. They’re saying it doesn’t matter as in it’s not gonna come up bc Rook is busy doing other shit, rather than quizzing characters who aren’t companions on their lives. “What about Varric”. Varric seems to have a pre-established relationship with Rook which means you can headcanon that they already had the talk about Varric’s life story considering he called them his “second in command”. Like cancel your preorders, preorder, do whatever you want no one on the internet is the boss of you. But oh my fucking god complaining about something you don’t even fully know about is already getting so old. Best case scenario, you’re right and i guess your bitching is validated yay for you ig. Worst case, you’re wrong and like wasted so much time and energy bitching for nothing. Like I completely understand being upset the choices don’t carry over, it IS disappointing! But we don’t even KNOW what it’s going to affect if anything at all. It’s just so funny how everyone was like “it’s not about the Inquisitor” and now that the focus is confirmed to be pretty much entirely on Rook and the inquistor’s choices barely seem to matter in game and half of everybody has lost the plot bc of it and we don’t even actually know how this will affect the game like ????

im in the boat that f*ddlest*n (and f*dda*thor, but this is about the first ship) is just like billf*rd— better with intense stan bro tension. and stancest. but not in a fiddleford and stan are both projecting ford onto the other kind of way. i mean, fiddleford definitely is, he can't NOT do that when the guy has ford's face even as much as he tries not to see him and see stan for himself. but going off with how much stan visibly dislikes fiddleford in the show, i love f*ddlest*n in a scenario where stan is crazy jealous and bitter about the relationship fiddleford had with ford.

not of their romantic relationship either, he couldn't care less about that, what he and ford had wasn't normal for brothers anyway, and in any other case stan would be glad both him and ford can move on (cough).

no, what stan hates about fiddleford is how for a long time stan wasn't ford's best friend. fiddleford was. fiddleford was there for ford in college. fiddleford was smart and matched fords genius. fiddleford didnt see ford at all for his sixth finger, he loved ford for ford just like stan did, but he didn't hold ford back or "rode on his coattails". and stan knowing all that while he had nothing and no one? while stan was living in his car yearning for ford to forgive him, call him, offer they sail away together again? when stan misses his brother and could think of nothing but him, and wanted nothing more than to just see him for even a minute, while fiddleford had four years of living in the same room, laughing at the same jokes, be the brother in fords arms instead of his actual brother?

that hurts.

and stan only feels this way about fiddleford. even after finding out about b*llf*rd, he doesnt view bill as some sort of a threat when bill had to copy stan's own mannerisms to get ford on his side. bill is a manipulator, a conman, just like stan— fiddleford is genuine. whatever ford loved and saw in him was real. and ford willingly gave him the time that couldve gone to stan if he hadnt broken fords machine.

that makes it worse.

so in some scenario he and fiddleford get to meet and get together... like fiddleford is one of his "clients" or an au where they work together to get ford back, or a mystery trio, and stan realizes fiddleford feels some sort of way about him?

stan jumps on it, not to project ford onto fiddleford or anything. but just to unload all his bitterness onto him. he's not even jealous of the guy— he's just such a stark reminder of how much stan fucked everything up. he hates himself, but if fiddleford likes it then he can fucking have it.

of course it doesnt work, he never gets over that bitterness. and when ford, who is jealous and possesive about stan as a lover finds out about it? yeah, best believe that poor little hillbilly is gonna need another wave of memory wipes

I hear ringing…

Shen Jiu jolted upright to the feeling of movement and subtle rocking. 

He was…..being carried?

Shen Jiu blinked and tried to get his vision to focus. His heart was pounding. 

When he woke up after a qi deviation he was sure was lethal, he noticed something wrong right away. He was proven correct a second after when he lifted a hand and what came into view was a white paw. He had been turned into a cat. 

What the hell?

The second thing he noticed that was off was the surroundings he was in. He was in some sort of cage, though the sides of the box were made of some weird material that had a shiny, slippery smooth texture. Only the exit to the cage was made of some metal. 

“Oh curse the heavens.” he sneered as he pawed and clawed at the door until a human's face came into view.

A face that looked strikingly familiar to him. 

It wasn’t a direct one to one copy but the human had his sharp eyes and narrow mouth, his high cheekbones and pointy nose. The human wore clear glasses around his eyes. The human’s clothes looked strange and underdressed. 

What was going on? He was sure he never had any family.

He hissed, his fur puffing up in suspicion. 

“Ansty aren’t we? Let's get you out now.” The human frowned and unlocked the door to his cage.

Shen Jiu jumped out the second the lock sprung free and took a glance at his surroundings. There was a huge mat that covered the entire floor and multiple soft looking pillows that surrounded the corners of the room. When he turned to look at the human, he was talking to another person. When the other human in the room looked down, Shen Jiu was struck by his face.

That was the face of a traitor. Shen Jiu seethed. 

He hissed and the fur on his back raised in agitation. The man looked rather shocked by his reaction.

“Oh dang, I guess he really doesn’t like me huh bro?”

“Of course, you look stupid.” The four eyes smirked. 

“Awe dudeeeee-”. Bemoaned the ratty looking man. 

“We have a lot of animals to unload here, get to work or I'm not paying you.” 

“We own the cafe together wha-”

The traitor lookalike was cut off by four eyes when he turned and put a finger to his lips in a shushing motion. Four eyes then brought out a cage, which was carefully lowered to the ground. He seemed to be holding his breath. 

From what Shen Jiu could see, the interior of the cage contained a lot of hay and padding. The man set that cage in front of a wall and unlocked the door to it. 

“Be quiet, this little guy is very skittish.” the visually impaired one whispered to his companion. 

One moment there was absolute stillness. The next was whatever that was inside that cage bolted out, nearly crashing into the man’s leg. 

“aCK-” four eyes yelped as he tried to grab the bolting white blurb.

It was quite unseemly and humorous to watch the two fumbling humans try to catch the creature that was performing nearly impressive acrobatics to evade grabbing hands. 

“HE’S VERY SKITTISH FOR SURE-”, the traitor look alike said as he dived right into the carpet whilst trying to apprehend what Shen Jiu could now see was a bunny. 

When the two animals locked gazes, Shen Jiu knew immediately who it was.

Liu Qingge, Baizhan peak lord, Cang Qiong Mountain’s War God, had been reborn as a bunny. 

Shen Jiun was going to ascend to the heavens by laughing himself stupid. 

It seemed like Liu Qingge was very puzzled by this change of events and his momentary distraction allowed the traitor look alike to scoop him up and wrap his arms around Liu Qingge’s struggling form. 

This day couldn’t get better, Shen Jiu thought amusedly

One would think that Liu Qingge would have been reincarnated as a cat like him or some bigger predatory creature due to his hot and volatile personality and hunting prowess. Shen Jiu could almost appreciate the irony of this scene.

im alive!!!! yeah I've been away for a while. it, ah... has not been a grrrreat time to be a military historian or a Big Fan of military propaganda pieces like Top Gun for the last year or so...

lmfao I just saw that the second trump admin plans to haul up all the commanders in charge of the Afghanistan withdrawal (which HE negotiated btw) in front of congress with the plan to charge them all with TREASON per the UCMJ (good fucking luck dude)

but um in my timeline... that includes navy secretary 2021-2022 tom iceman kazansky, bro... so in case you're wondering what these characters are up to in the present day apparently the answer is "getting investigated for treason." sorry to bring down the mood. my happy ending's a little sour now.

mostly I've been insanely busy. I graduate university in may & have to have a journalism capstone, an English research thesis (my paper on military commanding officers in fiction inspired by my top gun fics tbh) and a creative writing capstone (novel) done by march. plus job applications, work for the place where im currently freelancing, apartment hunting... so im a wee bit crunched lately.

some minor updates for anyone who still cares: I am, extremely slowly, still editing WWGATTAI & the other stories. I've finished a complete overhaul of the Carole-dies chapter, chapter 7, but have yet to post it because I'd like to sync a logistical change in the story across the other pieces. and I'm mostly done with a COMPLETE overhaul of chapter 6 (aka "the nineties" chapter where ice & mav move in together & build their family) which goes into much more detail about how... emotionally and logistically... they could pull that off. + a lot more baseball stuff + the Clinton sex scandal. which leaves just chapter 10 left to do. ugh, my least favorite, which is why im putting it off... and then debriefing etc. which won't take as long because I don't honestly care about debriefing at all and I just have very minor changes to make to it. slider doesn't need editing and idgaf about the other pieces.

once I finish with the edits, which will happen eventually I swear because more than anything I just want to hold the updated edited final thing in my hands the way I did with the first draft, I'll upload my pdf (with meta analysis and notes that go back to mid-2022) for u guys to do with as you wish

also for the m:i doubleheaders I am planning on editing my m:i fic pre-m:i8 next year and pending ilsa life status will write much much more
