Her mom has definitely kept so much of her baby stuff because she can't get herself to get rid of them. They definitely ran into all that when they were moving to Crimson Beech and went down memory lane. Ripley wanted to keep all of it because she could use it as hand-me-downs for her own future kids.

She definitely has a few childhood plushies but hasn't slept with a stuffed toy since she was around 12, I think she just kinda dislikes having anything on her bed in general (like extra pillows and stuff). She does always hold onto Cas and Gabe like they're teddybears tho lol.

She really likes when guys have long hair, dyed hair, when they wear make-up and/or nailpolish, tattoo's, alternative clothing styles, soft features and femininity and androgyny in men. Or just guys who aren't afraid to indulge in things that are seen as feminine. Like it's not like they Need to have all those traits (and obv Cas doesn't fit all those boxes either), but she likes it a lot u know.

And meanwhile with women theres just like a lot she likes? A lot of the stuff I listed for men she also loves in women. But her taste is a lot broader like for example she thinks female jocks r hot but doesn't rly care for male jocks.

Generally if she went out for a day she's seen tons of attractive women and maybe 1 or 2 guys she thought were cute, if at all. But at the same time if she does run into the 'right' kinda guy she's way more likely to be crushing really hard because it's so much more rare for her to even run into guys like that, if that makes sense?

I think the kinda guy that would just have her thinking about him for the rest of the week would be for example a really pretty guy who dresses in sweet lolita or something like that. Like I think it would sorta trigger some kinda magpie-instinct in her like 'I need him' LMAO.

I don't think she really cares much but she has an easier time with anything where shes on top though + just gravitates more towards that. Especially after what happened with the Creator (I always imagine he pinned her down on the ground and letting her struggle for a bit before biting into her neck) someone being on top of her is something they need to be careful with/take slow because in certain circumstances it'll make her feel panicky because it takes her back to that moment. But due to that she's also extra open to doing it to try and get over that.

I think a big thing for her is that she likes 'marking' her lovers, like hickeys, biting, scratching, bruising. I think sometimes she'll trace it with make-up just so it'll actually stay for a day because everyone's vampire healing makes it disappear too fast lol.

She loves biting in general like just separate from the whole vampire thing lol. Even when she was human she loved that vampires heal up fast and won't get infected and stuff so she can like bite them Hard.

Shes also a bit of a sadist I guess? Tho that's mostly just a thing between her and Cas, or at least she doesn't hold back much with him. For a big part it was also just curiosity about vampires and being in awe seeing it heal up so fast, like they already started doing that before getting together, while he was just telling her about vampires/bragging. It didn't seem like a big deal to Ripley because it didn't seem to hurt him v much. In the meantime she's stopped viewing him as this invulnerable being (I think when his hunting party got attacked and she thought he died, that was a turning point for her especially) so she's like a lot more sensitive towards him + insists on cleaning and patching him up afterwards n stuff (which she also just really enjoys doing). Idk I shud mb write a separate post about it sometime but I say that a lot LOL

like woobifying neal to hell and back or inventing whole new personalities for el or . i don’t even know how to describe what they do to peter

like the thing about neal is he Is a magpie he’s just a surprisingly loyal one, he flits from shiny thing to person to ideal, sure, but certain classes of ppl can fully hold his attention

peter holds his attention bc he is good as in skilled (it’s borderline canon that no one else can catch him, or even really come close), and extremely principled w a cunning streak which neal basically approaches as like. a puzzle box, bc like none of their principles line up so he’s curious how the apparent closed system rube goldberg machine of his morals work LOL

then it becomes a dedication through loyalty, in that peter sticks his neck out multiple times due to faith in neal, and neal is EXTREMELY weak to loyalty/consistency (gestures at the mess of his childhood)

and due to generally low self image (morals wise, he kind of thinks he sucks? like he’s competent and cool and charming and everything, but he also tends to consider himself a nuisance, w how he’s disruptive to ‘normal’ / ‘good’ people) that dedication can become disproportionate

we see through kate (and later, adler) that the easiest way to con neal/get him acting against his own self interest IS to cultivate that loyalty

there’s an easy archetype to it, even, in that u present him with a competent, smart individual (bonus points if they’re a conventionally attractive woman), but have her off limits in some way (uninterested, taken, stand off ish, whatever), activate his thief urge to ‘take’ what he wants, then when they are friends/partners whatever, his inadvertent guilt over like. corrupting/endangering this person/tricking them about who he ‘really’ is will loop around into VERY strong loyalty, and a commitment to being whatever they want him to be x2, bc he Cannot handle being left behind LMAO

peter simultaneously feeds into + challenges this framework, bc he clearly has the least biased opinion about who neal is, even though he’s still wrong about a lot of things. and beyond that, he REALLY likes neal, thinks he’s interesting and funny, but at the start of the show can’t deal with even 0.01% of his chaotic neutral methods

WHICH IN TURN!! actually breaks through some of Neal’s shit bc:

peter picked him out of prison before neal had changed at all

he essentially sees his role, from as early as ep 1, as tactically breaking the law where peter can’t/won’t, in ways that help them close the case faster

after peter (more or less) gives a thumbs up the first time he does this, neals puzzle box brain goes ‘oh?? morally grey bestie??? CRIME BESTIE????’ and now he’s trying to ‘solve’ peter’s moral code

this is actually almost in complete opposition to elizabeth, who is compete open and clear about her affection and friendship w him basically since they meet, and apparently has no prerequisites for it. which, again, pointing to the low self esteem, triggers the ‘oh god what have i done to deserve this i haven’t even CONNED her yet’ so he’s low key more invested in + comitted to elizabeth in a specific. 'i want to be on good terms w this person' targeted way than he initially was w peter (since their mutual obsession manifests so fucking frequently as 'what, you're gonna hit me? you're gonna hit me with that big bat? better make it hurt. better kill me in one shot!' style antagonism)

HENCE the constant check ins w their relationship, reminding peter about anniversaries and dinner times etc, though that’s also due to a general fascination he has w stability + permanence

we learn in s2 he was seriously considering proposing to kate, and that he genuinely wanted to take the ‘true love’ way out of the conman life, even though he wasn’t quite sure whether it would stick, hence we see a lot in s2 his fascination w peter + els marriage, along with june (crime aunty <3)‘s relationship w her passed husband

a lot of his dedication to peter circa s2 is, by my reckoning, explicitly because peter is so determined to stick with Neal, and doesn’t give up on him/their deal even when it would be entirely reasonable (neal admits to crimes, gets put back in prison, constantly breaks rules and goes looking for kate) which is like. neal HATES being trapped, but he also REALLY values consistency + competency

that one started, like a lot of my fics have recently, as a conversation in the payneland party discord server, though I don't remember the exact details of HOW it started-- I think we were just generally talking about, like, the idea of Charles trying to hold back and be respectful/let Edwin adjust meanwhile Edwin is just like. antsy as all hell waiting for CHARLES to be ready because he's been ready to go basically since the beginning. idk, id have to scroll back through the nsfw channel to find the convo, and it was SO long ago and pretty basic as far as details go so it would take forever to find XD. but I remember it was one of those convos where we kept just "yes, and" ing each other and after writing a whole long message that was basically a ficlet in its own right I was just like. im gonna write this actually. and then it ended up being over 8k words long.

dude I have SO MANY IDEAS for more fics in the Honey, it's Easier universe (which I have simply dubbed the Honeyverse in my DBDA fic folder) it's not even funny. I have ideas for a prequel, ideas for several sequel one shots that could condense into a single fic, either one BIG one shot or smth multi chapter... in which case it would be very funny to have the only two multi chapter fics ive ever posted both be payneland smut lmao. anyways the ideas for you:

little prequel fic, describing one of those times Edwin and Charles snogged and then Edwin left in detail. I actually have over 1000 words of this one written, but the spark to write the smutty bit has not arrived yet so it's just sitting there until it bestows itself upon me

sequel, catering to Edwin's desire to see Charles get himself off

sequel, where Charles is like "hey I didn't get to properly blow you last time can I do it again"

sequel where they just kind of luxuriate in not having to STOP anymore. featuring bitey Charles

idk if all of these ideas will get written, or if ANY of them will, as the smut writing spark appears to have dissipated somewhat. but just know I am Thinking About Them

for the director's cut question: generally when it comes to the POV of a fic, I have an idea about whose POV it'll be in right from the start? or, like, the idea itself is kind of intrinsically tied to the POV. with take me under (take me home), I knew off the bat I wanted it to be Edwin POV because the whole premise was Edwin witnessing Charles have a panic attack and calm him down from it. with Honey, it's Easier a lot of the yes, and-ing we'd been doing in the server had been about Edwin's feelings and. ahem. desire, and him showing Charles he was VERY MUCH READY and had been for a while, so it was just natural to write it from his POV. then with to watch you as you wake, the whole thing was meant to be an exploration of Charles's trauma and bone-deep devotion to Edwin.

I have noticed that in instances (at least with DBDA fic) where the idea for the fic isn't so interwoven with whose POV it'll be told in, I kind of lean towards writing Edwin POV (with Payneland works anyway)? I'm still not entirely sure why that is, but 6.5 out of my 10 posted dbda fics are Edwin POV, and even more of my current WIPs are in his POV (for instance, every one of those Honey, it's Easier companion fics so far I'm imagining writing from his POV). maybe it's because I enjoy getting in his head and writing in his super eloquent, long-winded prose? maybe it's because I'm half in love with Charles and really like writing Charles through his eyes? maybe it's because Charles's emotions hurt me to write firsthand? idk but Edwin is my little bestie and I like to write his thoughts very much. OOH OR maybe it's also because it's fun to write how fucking unhinged and horny he is internally knowing Charles is seeing him all prim and proper LMAO (in the case of smut)
