I am so sorry if i come off stupid with this ask but i’m not very educated on this topic and my english isn’t that good so pls dont take any offence but i’ve read some of ur fics (ur very skilled btw!!) and in some of them vox and alastor are depicted to be sexual at times but isn’t alastor acesexual? I used to think that ace ppl were repulsed(?) by sex and touch in general and now im a bit confused is he only comfortable with touch because they have a deep bond or is him being repulsed by touch just an act?

No worries at all, I think this is something that a lot of people get caught up on! Asexuality isn't very commonly talked about in terms of actually explanations, so a lot of folks tend to have the impression you did.

Asexuality is a spectrum that often correlates with but isn't actually inherently linked to comfort with touch! Asexual people can be sex-positive, sex-neutral, or sex-repulsed—or a combination of those three things depending on the context and their feelings at the time. I always write Alastor as aromantic and asexual, but I play around with his comfort levels regarding all those things depending on the fic or even how he feels in the moment, oscillating between sex-positive to fully touch-repulsed (or sometimes both, which causes some complicated feelings for him). (There are also demisexual and graysexual people but I'm just going to talk about asexuality here.)

I think a key point to understand is that for an asexual person to have sex, they're just going to have different reasons from an allosexual person. Alastor is never having sex in my radiostatic fics because he thinks Vox is hot and is super attracted to him (unlike Vox, whom I write as allo and who pretty consistently thinks Alastor is hot and wants to fuck him). Instead, some of the reasons he's slept with Vox in my works include: curiosity; societal pressure; nonsexual enjoyment of kink; sexual enjoyment of very specific acts (again, still not the same as "being sexually attracted to Vox"); seeking intimacy; being under the influence; etc.

If you think about it, allosexual people also have sex for reasons outside of sexual attraction. Lesbians may have sex with men out of social pressure or personal exploration; a lot of people have sex just because they're lonely and it's how they find intimacy; you can even imagine the stereotypical frat bro who has sex with a girl because he sees her as a status symbol; etc, etc. Just because someone is ace doesn't mean they can't have sex, it just means that their reason isn't going to be sexual attraction.

The relationship between my aspec identity and fictional characters (ramble under the cut)

(This is rushed and stream of consciousnessy as Hell. I'm sick and caffeinated rn and half of this is voice to text so wheeee) The thing is I think I like the idea of fictional characters but like I don't want to be in a relationship with them. Even with characters that I think objectively attractive and hot. I could never read an x reader fic for them especially anything rated above a T. Even G rated stuff can make me quite uncomfortable sometimes if it's shippy. I have tried writing some but don't enjoy writing kissing like that. I thought it was because I just didn't know how to write that stuff in second person or I was embarrassed. I looked at the Thirteenth Doctor/Reader tag (And I would say that in theory I am at least vaguely attracted to her) but I just couldn't read anything. I sort of thought that it was bc none of the fics were the exact thing I wanted but maybe I just like the idea of her. Crowley and Aziraphale, same thing. They are both very hot. And I can read about them doing all sorts of stuff if you catch my drift without being uncomfortable. But only with each other. Add "me" (The reader) into the equation in some very specific scenarios in my head? Sure. But normally I see it in 3rd person, especially if it's not something I'm into. And sometimes it's not even me in my imagination! It's just some vague, faceless OC! Maybe im aegosexual but i dont think that label quite fits, though thats probably to do with having to explain it and being asked "so you just read porn?" Or "So you're fictosexual? That's not a real thing." (Bullshit.) And so on. I definitely identify as aspec and am not attracted to real people but where on the asexual spectrum I am is a mystery to us all. I'm almost definitely aromantic too. I only ever have platonic crushes (squishes) and if I feel like I want "more" as the allos would say, I think I actually just want more physical contact with my friend or to be able to say "I love you" unironically without it being "weird". But yeah just because Peter Vincent in Fright Night (2011) makes me feel things in theory doesn't mean I actually want to date/fuck him in practice. It's just that Alastor is (a REPULSED) AroAce and there isn't much representation of it in the media, and we're scraping the bottom of the barrel for it. Some RadioApple fanart is fun, and I have read some RadioApple stuff myself. It does feel a little uncomfortable for me as I have been shipped with a friend of mine at school and we're just best bros.

I won't judge you for liking a fictional ship like this, it's OKAY. UR FINE. A lot of problems with it is aphobia of allo people trying to (for some reason) ruin representation of the fact, as the voice actor of Alastor actually said, "You don't need to fuck to be fab."

I like ships myself! Sometimes it's nice to look at characters with fun dynamics and imagine them having fun together (it doesn't have to be romantic or sexual to be interesting, and I don't really get the NEED for it to be that way. I'm not much of a shipper though). And I get the urge to like it romantically, like "Omg these characters are so fun together but hate each other but what if they were together???"

You are my friend and you're a truly good person. I know you're not aphobic (as I am AroAce, and you say you're biromantic asexual), and a lot of the things with shipping Alastor are people being aphobic about it. You don't need to feel horrible about it, and reading some things in that sort of matter isn't like destroying the community (I've read Alastor smut for the laughs myself after all). I honestly just went with the first idea that came to mind cause I wasn’t exactly sure how to make Camellia come to life exactly, so probably wasn’t the best idea to stick with-

My idea is that Paperjam was like the first ship child to exist and everyone sees him and they just bombard Ink and ask “OMGHOW U DO THAT?? WE WANT TO DO THAT TOO!!” Instead of just trying to figure it out themselves

And for Camellias case specifically, Ink just created a “puppet” basically, there was no life in it that he was able to create, it was like the base. While Dream and Swap had to supply the actually soul/life, so they had to take a bit of their souls put ‘em together and they get baby soul wooo! My thought process was that they could make Camellias soul, it just wouldn’t be able to grow up and have a body so that’s where Ink came and helped.

Honestly I made Swap and Dream confused about it cos I also had no idea what I was doing :D

so aro/ace shipping in fandom mega increased cause of alastor from hazbin. i have my own issues with how vivziepop treated his orientation, but whatever. so my issue is not that he's shipped. whatever, ship and let ship. my issue is that SO MANY ppl were using the aro/acespec folks as like excuses. as in, "oh hes actually grayrose/demirose/ect so i can ship him" like??? one, you are shipping him in a allo way, two, just change his orientation in the damn fic/artwork ffs.

I dont think arguing ppl should never ship aspecs is helpful at all. its a fandom, ppl are going to ship. we should be focusing on the ppl who are using aspec identities as an excuse. there was a post talking about this that got put on reddit, and a ton of ppl were being aphobic.

it sucks cause everyone else sees the argument as 'aspecs are saying you can never ship them ever' and just refuse to see the argument of 'ppl are using aspec identities as an excuse to ship, and are using that aspec identity as essentially an allo one' or the dreaded 'it was their one true love and that makes this ship speecial'.

this whole thing has just increased tension between non partnering aspecs and partnering aspecs. also ive seen a lot of loveless and loving(?) aspecs stuff. then again, ive kinda distanced myself from aspec tumblr so. what do i know
