With my birthday just a few days away, I decided to treat myself to a photo shoot with the amazing @petrakingphotography. I can’t wait to see the final results. I decided instead of doing my typical #mcm this week I would save it and do a #womancrushwednesday and help celebrate the #grandopening of the new storefront space for @marketsbydreamday. This market is a space where you can shop for all kinds of handcrafted goods from a ton of your favourite local vendors. So many talented ladies all in one spot. Since I was 16 years old I’ve been doing anything and everything to hide my grey hairs. Years ago I started going blonder and blonder because I found I could go longer between colourings. In my warped sense of mind, blonde hair with dark roots was much more socially acceptable than dark hair with white roots. We live in a world where age can make or break you. Youth is celebrated and aging is frowned upon. Wherever you turn you see marketing aimed at reclaiming your youthful appearance. Being a single woman who wants to appear desirable, aging gracefully was not an option. But as each year passed, having to dye my hair seemed like was a process of no return. At this point, there was no way to easily grow it out and I wasn’t going to cut my hair short. I pondered having it dyed grey so I could naturally for ages. With my birthday just a few weeks away, I finally accepted myself and the inevitable. I went to a friend that I trusted to help me embrace my grey and help move forward to my desire for more self love. It’s only been 24 hours and between my constantly admiring it in the mirror and multiple DMs from family, friends and followers, I can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner. Finally this is a truer version of who I am and who I strive to be. #tbt What you see is definitely not what you get at the @museumofillusions_toronto. The boy and I got to check out this new museum in #Toronto this past weekend and it was so cool. All the different #opticalillusions really played tricks on our minds. The one exhibit where you walk across a bridge and it looked like the tube around it was spinning totally messed with my mind. The boy loved that one so much he went through it 4 times. I felt like I was going fall over the railing.
