my dad is a famous lawyer and therefore rich. but we are from the middle east so compared to a person in europe for example, we wouldn't actually be rich because of currency exchange rates and racism.

so when i was around 18, i had a friend on this very website who was from germany. she was from a small village and her family had a farm they ran themselves. she herself called her family poor. and this was in 2019, when everyone (especially chronically online kids which we were a part of) believed that "eat the rich" meant "hate anyone who has even a little bit of money" so anytime id talk about struggling with money or not having access to healthcare, she'd shut me down and tell me i need to stop "cosplaying as poor"

my father never gave me any money. i didnt have any money to my name. he actually gave me a debit card connected to his bank account with his name on it that contained a very limited amount of money....barely enough to survive even. and he would call and ask me what i bought if i made any purchases on it, because it was connected to his bank and he tracked all my expenses. he wouldn't take me to doctors and i almost went paralyzed because of 15 cysts in my back at some point because of his negligence. whenever i did something he didnt like he'd take away my money and medication. once, during the pandamic and while i was still talking to said german friend, my dad got mad at me for not picking up his call once and drained all the money from the debit card that was there for food and groceries and refused to give me my adhd medication he had picked up from the pharmacy in my name. for a whole week, i was quite literally starving and without any medication. and still even then that "friend" made me feel horrible for just talking about the abuse i was facing at home because "my dad had money and that meant i had money"...it really didnt.

i grew up poor. i never had any money. if i wanted to go to a cafe with friends then i had to spare buying groceries for a few days and basically starve so i could afford some coffee. i went shopping maybe once or twice a year at the most. i had one pair of shoes for most of my teen life.

rich parents can be abusive as fuck. and also, eat the rich doesn't mean hate on the children of mildly rich people especially when those kids have no access to said money. eat the rich means go after the 1 percent. not some 18 year old in fucking middle east getting abused by their parents.

As a kid, when your parents are poor, you're poor. If they don't have money, that means none of you have money. But if someone's parents are rich, that doesn't necessarily mean the kid is. Sometimes rich peoples' kids aren't rich kids, they're just some rich freak's exotic pets that can talk but aren't allowed to.

She is respected for her brilliance, and her illness is acknowledged and not feared, and her genius is put toward progress and not violence. She never quite fits outside the lab- she is a Zaunite, after all, and she clings to that identity with teeth and claws- and though Jayce never quite understands, Viktor always defends her to him.

In an alternate universe, she builds Viktor braces and prosthetics and mobility aids as his condition declines, new and improved with every model. They tweak the designs together, and their witty banter as they work staves off the threat of impending mortality, just for a while. Hextech products begin to sport animal motifs, a phenomenon that neither Jayce nor Viktor feel the need to explain. Their lab is covered in graffiti, which they both complain about, but never actually discourage.

In an alternate universe, Vi finds her sister, and she is eccentric, but not broken. She is supported and cared for and hailed as the protege of the two most brilliant scientists alive. She is angry and confused and betrayed, yes- but she is not alone, and she is not afraid.

And they can work with that.

I will never stop thinking about how their paths intertwined. Meetings by chance and words you say to feel out the other person. How their power comes and goes and rocks your decisions and plans. How even the tiniest point of contact sets things into motion. How Green Phoenix, by never really managing to be fully uncaring (for Thirteen, for inserting himself between the fights of Seven and Red Tooth, for giving Seven directions to the Thousand Demon Dagger) makes Seven and Thirteen's meeting happen. How that later makes him decide for her to "betray" him. How in the end that brought him his own death but he also found sth important along the way. How the last time we ever see him (in the ED) is him smiling. It is truly unbelievable just how much these assassins feel despite their best efforts.

I will protect Michaela Stirling with my life, but I swear to god, if they fumble Francesca x John, I'm going to commit a crime. The show is a lot different from the books, as it should be, but they do not need to undermine the love Fran has for John. The literal point is that falling in love a second time does not discount the love Francesca had for John. That's beautiful. That resonates even today 20 years after the novel's release. That does not need to be changed.

I think they still could have had the 'forget my own name' thing, but with Francesca introducing herself as Francesca Bridgerton before remembering her married name. It would have been subtle without discounting the fact that Frannie literally just married the love of her life and she's thrilled.

so I’m working through the Hannibal rewatch right and it’s it’s just so crazy to see you like in the beginning how much will like either doesn’t talk about his feelings or lies to other people like alana.

in comparison to like how brutally honest he is with hannibal and to showcase how uncomfortable he is with her compared to his comfortableness with hannibal.

he has to be someone different around her in order for her to even have any sort of relationship with him. there early interactions are a bit… awkward? which makes sense, they’ve never been in a room together alone as per alana’s designs, but for all of alana’s talks about wanting to be will’s friend she rarely gives him support and space to feel safe with her.

which I feel is why hannibal snakes his way into will’s life so quickly, he very quickly asserts himself as a person of stability, safety, and support to will.

edit: theres also something to be said about the difference of alana’s “professional curiosity” vs hannibal’s “obsessive curiosity” and how it effects will and their actions towards will
