When did you get into rvb and how?

I got into it around 2013 so I think when freelancer had just finished (according to my old amino account I had to check lol). I was in middle/elementary at the time so I had already known abt rooster teeth though stuff like achievement hunter but got super into them when the first season of rwby dropped.

I think I first just watched freelancer for Monty Oum’s animation (cuz I was too impatient for new rwby eps to come out lol) but didn’t end up watching the whole series until my rwby rp friends on virtual space amino invited me to a RvB rp so I finally just watched it from the beginning to learn the lore and ended up loving the show.

4 Minutes Ep 7 Rewatch + Ep 8 Live Blogging

The very last week of this show, woah. Very curious and nervous how they'll wrap it up. By the end of KinnPorsche I was so over it but I really liked DFF ending (last 10 minutes not withstanding and even then I chose to believe in the more bleak possibility), so I hope this one ends in a good way. Not in the sense that it's a happy ending but rather a suitable ending.

Ep 7 Rewatch (Sep 12)

As usual, when I watched in last Friday, I watched the regular version that's ~2 minutes shorter + was watching it on my phone + it was on the bus with the sun shining so I couldn't see the screen properly. So here's me watching it again on my laptop full-screen.

Couldn’t watch during lunch break but I ended up going on Twitter a few times and got spoilers such as Fuaiz dying in two series lol and Fuaiz-JJay having similar endings here and DFF apparently.

My headphones are glitching so I can only watch it when holding in a certain way but at least now I downloaded the episode with data and so can also watch when on the subway

I love this actually because I was like ?? if they met in their consciousness, but also I’ve been going to art exhibitions and museums lately and have enjoyed a few of the video art rooms like this, so it feels like great timing for me bc I wouldn’t have had this experience if this show had come out a few months ago. And this art exhibit touched them so deeply and thoroughly that they internalized it for when they went through literally live and death experiences

but who is this ominous woman who did the presentation? it really as if she granted them those 4 minutes lol (though Korn went through the same thing without seeing the exhibit)

yknow there are multiple series where it feels like i’ve seen this sort of “villain ends up in hospital and instead of killing people are gleeful at them being stuck in bed and needing help for all bodily functions” and like yknow pretty much all of us will end up there someday. those who are disabled aren’t being punished

ohh maybe it’s this decision? Great turning himself in for Dome’s death. but what about that woman's death from the hit and run

pls not them faking out "oh maybe this is fake in your mind" smhh At least when DFF did the fakeout escape, it made a more compelling "oh they're actually all still stuck in that house" interpretation even though they were too cowardly to actually show that. doing the opposite where they tease a more compelling ending while the actual ending is unearned is like what...

Last episode thoughts:

I think it focused on the wrong things, specifically when it came to Great and Tyme. What was the point of Tyme's 4 minutes trip? Nothing happened except he also in his fake timeline fell in love with Great for some reason. From my tags on a post: Maybe we can convince ourselves that great was lonely and was just looking for somebody to care about him and decided to latch onto tyme in his dying moments thus his 4 minutes romance. but what was tyme's 4 minutes even about?! why did he spend all of it falling in love with great in it?!?!?! and what was the point of it fr like his timeline did nothing affected nothing. great could've just woken up when real life tyme was calling him on the hospital bed if we Needed to have tyme wake great. in Triage when the other guy was in the loop there was a very clear purpose and mission and it aligned with the story, he had to save the doctor this time. i thought us getting to see tyme go into his own timeline at the very end would lead to something like that, whether it be uncovering some mysteries, figuring out the mechanics of this phenomena, or what. But instead he just went on fakes dates with Great.

And then once they woke up, it didn't focus on their recovery or them meeting each other again or the 4-minutes phenomena at all. We didn't even really see Great wake up, we saw his alternate self wake up. Why didn't we see Great and Tyme finding each other in the real world where they have a very broken not-even-friendship and how to reconcile the real person with who they each had in their head (because it's not truly the other person in their head) - unless we were maybe supposed to think it was because of the river incident where Great drove to the river even though he didn't know it was there in his dream timeline.

Are we just assuming that the timelines are all fake and doesn't affect the real timeline, thus no explanation or discussion of it necessary? but then why are Great and Tyme's relationship not explored at all outside of their fake ones aghhh.

man, why did they not actually explore any of the things that the story started on in this finale.

I liked the Tonkla-Korn-Win showdown because it's delicious to have to confront everything at once, nowhere to hide and so many secrets come spilling out. Korn is an asshole and Tonkla should've killed him but he technically did do that because Tonkla dying lead to Korn killing himself. Win is such a dumb bitch, how did he get to just continue living life normally and continue with his job? How wasn't he investigated or in agony at what he's done (the way Tee from DFF was)? And why did we not have a conclusion to the corruption of cops and how they have impunity and get away with anything the way we had started off but now Win's just a good cop and that's that? And Tonkla died so... unceremoniously. Man :( Also despite my dislike for Korn, I think Korn/Tonkla is really compelling and it's like woah when we realize that Korn actually loved Tonkla even though his priorities were whack by the end and him persistently trying to have sex with Tonkla that one time was scary. It's like Korn might "love" Tonkla but he's still not... good at love him and he's not a kind/good person even though he maybe loved Tonkla. idkidk I enjoy a good tragedy.

Actually I also wish we got some more of Tonkla POV in this episode rather than just through Korn's eyes.

There was a post that was like this is like GMMTV ending and I agree, they went with the the easiest, most non-sensical romantic route despite it not suiting the story but gotta make it all romantic because it's BL/GL. smh.

I dont mind that Great and Tyme both woke up instead of a “Great went through this whole thing in his mind and nothing changed and he dies” because although I can enjoy a bleak/tragic ending, I don’t know necessarily that that’s the only suitable ending my for the story. like if it was even more character focused and focused mostly on Great and his character development on his deathbed, then maybe but we had many characters and like mystery and suspense with the business and Tonkla stuff so I feel like tragedy isn’t the only viable solution. so it's not that I wanted a tragic ending for them but right now... it still doesn't feel like the earlier fake-timeline eps actually did anything??? like it's not real to me. I know Sammon said in Twitter that apparently it's an alternate timeline that affects the real one but uh, not according to the show.

Overall:

It's a shame that the last episode was not very good and it didn't tie up things well or do anything meaningful with the 7 episodes that came before it because I quite enjoyed 7/8 eps of the show and even enjoyed the Tonkla portion of the story. I enjoyed the characters (and how terrible they were) and what I thought was going on. It was a good Friday watch + I liked it even more when I binge rewatched eps 1 - 6 and was anticipating the show even more. And yet, it feels like they didn't explore the themes and potential of the storylines enough, especially the whole 4 minutes thing. It's fine, I don't hate the show and really liked most of the show but it feels like the last ep took the wind out of it.

Overall: 6.5/10 - a rating that hurts me because it was one of my most anticipated and for so long too.

10 Little Details You May Not Have Noticed in Season 1 of The Mandalorian

After rewatching season one of The Mandalorian quite a few times now, there’s some little details I’ve picked up on that I wanted to share! Many of you may have already noticed these things yourselves (and they’ve been covered in a few recent asks), but I also wanted to point some out for those who might not have picked them out.

These items go in no particular order, I do not own the rights to any of the content of The Mandalorian, and—just in case you haven’t watched yet—spoilers are ahead!

1. THE MISSING PAULDRON (CHAPTER 5: THE GUNSLINGER)

At the very beginning of the episode (a minute or two after the title sequence), we see Mando landing the Crest in the hangar on Tatooine—securing the baby away while he does so. But, what you may not have noticed is that Mando’s removed his right pauldron. It’s believed that this was to make it more comfortable when he rocks the baby to sleep on his shoulder, which shows us a whole new depth to Mando’s relationship with the child after the events on Sorgan.

2. THE BABY COMFORTING AN INJURED MANDO (CHAPTER 8: REDEMPTION)

In the midst of Mando’s frantic discussion with Cara about getting the child to safety, we see the baby sitting at his feet. In reality, the baby’s holding onto his boot in a comforting way, as if he’s trying to show his father that he’s there for him. This shot happens while Mando is ripping off his Mythosaur necklace for Cara to take to the covert.

3. THE BABY WANTS CARA’S CREDITS (CHAPTER 7: THE RECKONING)

Right after Cara’s opponent in her fight drops of his credits, the baby pays his utmost attention to them. Now, this could be just because they’re shiny and—based on the metal sphere inside the Crest—we all know the baby loves shiny things, but some think it may be because the baby recognizes what a credit is and that Mando often needs them. He may be trying to claim them so Mando won’t have to do any more dangerous work to get them. (Again, all a theory.)

4. THE BOUNTY HUNTER AND ZERO (CHAPTER 3: THE SIN AND CHAPTER 6: THE PRISONER)

In Chapter 3, we see this droid amongst the bounty hunters fighting against Mando on Nevarro (just before the other Mandalorians arrive). This is the same make of droid as Zero in Chapter 6. There’s been no confirmation as to whether or not these two droids are actually the same droid, nor any reason for us to believe that, but it might be—since Zero accessed the hologram of Greef Karga on the Crest and instantly knew something was off about Mando (perhaps he began to remember what happened during his last run-in with a Mandalorian?). Probably just a coincidence, but who knows?

5. THE BABY EMULATES MANDO (CHAPTER 4: SANCTUARY)

Since this is a part that’s highlighted, it’s probably rather well known. But, since these frames happen back-to-back, it’s pretty clear that we’re meant to see how the baby is trying to copy Mando’s behavior of laying back on the wagon. It’s a really endearing moment that shows the baby’s already learning after and wanting to be like his father!

6. KUIIL IS... VIBING? (CHAPTER 7: THE RECKONING)

In the back of this first frame of Mando and Cara’s arm wrestling match, we see Kuiil holding some kind of tube and putting it up to his mouth. I, honestly, have no idea what he’s doing—maybe chewing up food for the blurrgs? I don’t know. But it’s really funny. He’s just... chilling back there.

7. MANDO’S THIGH ARMOR IS GONE (CHAPTER 8: REDEMPTION)

His piece of armor actually flew off with the explosion earlier in the episode. But, coincidentally or not, that was the last piece of armor that wasn’t forged with the beskar he earned from turning in the baby—completing the arc that the man from before meeting the baby is now completely gone.

8. MANDO IS CONFUSED BY IG-11 NOT ONCE, BUT TWICE (CHAPTER 1: THE MANDALORIAN AND CHAPTER 8: REDEMPTION)

In Chapter 1, just after taking fire, Mando asks IG-11 if his blaster hit’s all right. He reassures him that it “missed [his] central wiring harness,” to which Mando responds, “Is that good?” Similarly, after Mando’s been in the explosion and IG-11 is healing him, IG says he’s been hurt in his “central processing unit,” to which Mando replies, “You mean my brain?” I think this was a nice little parallel that tied the relationship between IG-11 and Mando together from the first episode to the last, showing us that Mando still thinks IG-11 “isn’t so bad—for a droid.”

9. THE BABY IS RELIEVED TO SEE THAT MANDO’S ALL RIGHT (CHAPTER 2: THE CHILD)

At the end of Chapter 2, we see the baby finally wake up after his use of the Force. While this is obviously something we all can see, there’s a little detail that’s important: the baby’s ears. They lift high on his head when he’s happy or observant, and in this case, it’s because the baby can finally realize that he saved Mando’s life. Since he’s been asleep ever since, he couldn’t be sure, and now he’s seeing that he’s with Mando again which means he really did save him. It’s a very adorable little detail!

10. MANDO HOLDS THE BABY’S HAND (CHAPTER 8: REDEMPTION)

While Cara is saying her goodbye to the baby, Mando’s holding him in his arm—and his gloved fingers have the baby’s tiny hand set perfectly between them. It’s a big difference between how he held the baby in Chapter 3 (by the scruff of his robes) and it shows their more intimate relationship as a clan of two!

A destiel & cockles shipper story: The origin

I was introduced to supernatural by one of my best friends 10 years ago. I was a Dean girl from the beginning and I still am. I loved the show but mostly because of Dean and I loved the fact that Cas was his best friend. I never thought much of their relationship since I wasn't too keen on the show, I was a casual watcher or whatever.

Well, until they announced that season 15 would be the one. I was sad because for 9 years I knew that no matter what, I would always have supernatural.

So, I decided to rewatch the entire series to catch up and remind myself of things I had missed since I was a casual watcher while simultaneously watching season 15 episodes. In the process of re-watching I realized that I hadn’t watched season 5 and 9.

So anyway, I was watching season 15x03 before I started my rewatch and THE SCENE came up and I was shocked, I gaped at my t.v. not understanding what was happening.  Why does it sound like Dean and Cas are breaking up? Yeah I know they are best friends but are they boyfriends too? Did I miss something from my casual watching? But I’ve never seen them kiss so it can’t be. Right? Right.

I moved on from that episode but as the show progressed things between them got curiouser and curiouser and then 15x09 happened andI knew then that they were definitely boyfriends. I mean that prayer scene was something.

To confirm my suspiscions, I googled Dean and Cas relationship and it’s like I opened a can of worms. There was so much content from reviews, fics, tumblr,porn, art, youtube videos.I used to sleep at 7AM in the morning looking at all that stuff (I know it was probably unhealthy but I wasn’t going to work and at least it kept my mind from all the chaos 2020 wasdishing out.)

Then I re-watched the show from the pilot to 15x13 and I regret nothing. It only took two months, and an extra month to rewatch season 4-14 for the second time and season 15 for the sixth time.

Then one day, one fateful day that led me here, to this cockles dumpster from which I cannot seem to escape and I saw #cockles on one of the destiel posts on IG and oh I wish I hadn’t done that. How I wish because that day, that hashtag doomed me to a life of misery and also blessedme with a life full of mirth.

I was shocked at first because from the little information I had about J2M, I knew they were married with kids, I was confused at first and then I came across all the tumblr posts and I had to create my own tumblr blog just to keep all the wonderful cockles stuff because I swear for like a month I had the hugest grin on my face from seeing all this content with love towards their spouses, kids and moose...it was wonderful. But now I am forever their prisoner but I think that’s okay because at least it’s a gay ass,in every sense of the word, prison. I love them.

I will say this however, in the processof discovering destiel & cockles I came across some awful blogs that were so hateful towards Misha, Dee & Gen as their kids and that broke my heart because I couldn’t understand why people would hate on these  two beautiful relationships. I even had a whole rant (I should probably delete that) on the same. I was new and I didn’t know some people had been dealing with the hate for years and I was catch up in my feelings. Then it hit me, there will always be nay-sayers and haters in every part of life, in every corner of the world, but that will never stop the beauty of love.

All in all I am more of a cockles shipper than a destiel one and I love every second of it because Cockles is a gift that keeps on giving and I am happy that I found them especially in this awful year.

PSA: To the amazing destiel & cockles, thank you for welcoming me to the dumpster mansion with open arms. I wear my clown outfit with pride though it scares me shitless. It’s actually quite comfortable inside this dumpster and I am not leaving. We are going down with this ship together. :*

About Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ending

I wrote a little something for the series finale last week and published it on both IG and Twitter but I realised that tumblr has been a huge factor as to how I fell so much in love with the show. Therefore I decided to share my little experience as an AoS fan over there too. Enjoy!

How do I begin to explain what Agents of SHIELD means to me ?

I stumbled upon it when I just started to get interested in Marvel and especially the MCU. I remember hearing about it first when they announced the show, probably an article about how the #CoulsonLives campaign made it happen in the summer of 2013. From then, I kept it in a corner of my mind, telling myself how I wanted to watch it once it came out. Flash forward to the very beginning of October, I was scrolling through tumblr when I saw a gifset picturing two scientists bickering. I saw from my friend's feed that it was from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. And I realised I forgot it started airing the week before. I had a feeling I was going to love these first two characters I saw. I just had no idea how much. I managed to binge the first two episodes and then I was waiting impatiently for the third. I was longing to find out more about all these characters and follow them as they solve supernatural mysteries... By FZZT, I was totally hooked and had already read and watched all the cast's and EP's interviews. In April of the next year, I was so excited about the season finale that I watched it live, in the middle of the night while I had Uni in the morning. And then I couldn't wait until the next season, with a million questions and impatient to find the character's I've fallen in love with once more. I was studying languages and watching the show in its original version and without subtitles most of the time because I couldn't wait, really allowed me to become fully bilingual. 

Through the years, I grew up as a young woman as I tried to find my professional path. It had its ups and downs but I could always count on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. every week to cheer me up and for a good time. I was enjoying watching them go to the end of the world for their missions. I've always loved travelling and so decided on a job related to tourism. Meanwhile, Fitz's struggles with changes helped me deal with my own stress and anxiety issues. Some episodes were harder than others because they sometimes hit too close for comfort but I still couldn't let go of the show. The kindness and benevolence I could feel from the entire cast and crew through social media made me feel at home when I was watching the show and the behind-the-scenes content. They were a part of my life, as well as the other fans I was talking to on tumblr or Twitter with on the daily. We developped special bonds through our love of the show. 

Another flash forward to... March, 2017. I was now working as an apprentice for an airline as well as getting my degree in tourism. I was at school when I saw C2E2 anouncing they were having Iain De Caestecker as a guest, one of my favorite actors from the show. Elizabeth Henstridge had already been announced and it promised to be such an exciting convention with my two favorites. I don't know why but then I checked my calendar and saw that I was off work and school that weekend... An insane idea was forming in my mind : one of my friends from the fandom lived in Chicago, I was off work and had great opportunites for plane tickets... I took the plunge and got them that same day. I have never travelled to the United States before but everything was decided within a few days. My craziest idea yet.

About 10 days before the departure, anxiety kicked it fully and I came very close to cancelling my trip because I was so nervous something would go wrong. I made it though. To one of the best weekends of my life. Elizabeth and Iain were the nicest and really made the jetlag and anxiety worth it. I was able to meet so many fans of the show for the first time, some I already kind of knew from social media and it was so fun to put faces on names and hang out with everyone during the weekend. This convention made me realise how I wish to meet every cast member from the show to thank them for what the show meant to me. And so everytime I was able to, I would participate in one and meet other cast members and other fans and I would have SUCH a blast. Every cast member I've met were so kind and funny and I always felt comfortable with them, even when I was rambling incoherently because of nerves or loss of words.

In a perfect world, I would also want to meet every crew member to thank them personally because without them, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. wouldn't have been the same. They were all essential in making my absolute favorite show.

I remember how every year we would campaign on social media to make sure we have one more season of our favorite tv show because we loved it so much and they deserved a good run. I was so fond of every character, they felt like family to me and I was always eager to find out more about them and see their new adventures. Jemma's resilience helped me through grief, Daisy's optimism boosted my own to always move forward whatever the obstacles, May's resistance encouraged me to develop my own, Yo-yo's faith reminded me that I should always thrive to be better. Seeing so many multi-faceted and powerful women on screen was rejuvenating.

This show reminded me every week of the importance of family and its values and how we don't necessary have to be blood-related to become one.

I don't think I've ever loved a series more than Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. As it's more than a tv show, it's family. It accompanied me during most of my adulthood and I'm going to miss it. But more than that, I'm grateful that it exists and will forever be in my life. Through the episodes I can rewatch. Through all the friends I've made thanks to the show. Through all the memories.

Thank you Maurissa, Jed and Jeff for creating the little show that could. Thank you to all the writers for fleshing out all these perfectly flawed characters. Thank you to the entire cast for portraying them with so much talent. Thank you to every crew member for doing an outstanding job and sharing your memories with us fans. Thank you all for 7 amazing years ! All the best to each and every one of you.

And last but not least thank you to every AoS fan I’ve interacted with over the years for the best experience. I am lucky to be able to call quite a few of you my friends.

Sunday, November 29th

‘-But I’m not really a popcorn person,’ Jackie sighs. ‘It’s too salty. I don’t want to have to keep stopping to drink water if I’m watching a movie too, you know? That’s, like, triple multitasking.’

Gigi laughs, grabbing the bucket of popcorn and pulling it closer to herself, taking a handful. 

‘I like it,’ she says, her mouth now half-full. ‘You can get it sweet, though.’

‘No, but that defeats the point, i’d rather just get chocolate or something.’ Jackie turns to her left and nudges Jan on the shoulder. She doesn’t look up from her phone.

‘Who are you texting?’ Nicky asks, stealing the bucket from out of Gigi’s lap. ‘They’re stealing you from us. We need your opinion on movie snacks.’

Jan smiles and her eyes light up as she locks her phone and places it on the cushion beside her. ‘Nobody,’ she replies, but the mischievous, almost childlike grin on her face says otherwise. ‘Movie snacks?’

‘We’ve been talking about this for like ten minutes,’ Gigi sighs, irritated. ‘Weren’t you listening?’

Jan grins back at her, mock offended. ‘I was totally listening!’ She gasps. Her phone vibrates, as does the cushion. Gigi looks at it in disgust, and pretends to be nonchalant as Jan’s Fleetwood Mac ringtone echoes through the room. She sits in silence, trying her best to twist her expression into something less sour.

‘ God, just answer the phone,’ Nicky laughs. ‘We can live without your input on this for once.’ Jan grabs her phone and laughs, walking out of Jackie’s living room and closing the door behind her. 

‘Who do you think it is?’ Asks Jackie, turning her head back to face the others. Gigi shrugs, grabs the popcorn back, and shoves a handful in her mouth to stop the bitter comments before they can escape.

‘She’s been talking to that Jake guy a lot,’ Nicky suggests, picking up the tv remote. ‘From biology, or something. He seems okay, I don’t really know him.’

Jackie nods, entertained, and returns the topic of conversation to the important distinction between types of M&Ms. Gigi grabs another handful of popcorn, and stays silent.

Wednesday, December 23rd

Jackie’s never one to half-ass anything, and holidays are no exception, apparently - when Gigi arrives at her house, gift box in one hand, bottle of Bailey’s in the other, she has to take a second to drink it all in. She’s hung fucking mistletoe. Christ.

They’re all sat around the dining table, Mariah Carey is playing in the background, and for a self-proclaimed Christmas hater, Gigi’s pretty content. Jackie pulls a spinner from some board game or other out and flicks it, grinning when it lands on Gigi.

‘okay, G, you go first,’ she smiles, rubbing her hands together. ‘Who’d you get?’

Gigi grabs the gift box from the floor next to her and pushes it across the table to Nicky, whose mouth drops open in surprise. ‘No way,’ she squeals. ‘You bitch, you kept that so secret!’

‘That’s the whole point,’ laughs Jan, tapping the table in excitement. ‘Go on, open it, I wanna see!’

Nicky unties the gift bow and slides the lid off the box, grabbing its contents. ‘A necklace?’ She questions, squinting at the piece of jewellery in her hands. ‘What does it say?’

‘Prettier,’ Gigi replies. the other three glance at her, confused. ‘There was one that just said pretty,’ she explains, ‘and this, and I didn’t think you’d appreciate being second best.’

They continue around the table with gifts. Nicky buys Jackie some kind of expensive perfume that would seem insincere and impersonal from anyone else, but is so quintessentially Nicky that nobody seems to mind. Jackie gives Jan some cute flower earrings and a gift card to a bakery that she loves. 

‘So you can stop hassling us for cupcakes,’ she explains, and Jan laughs in response, and it’s music to Gigi’s ears, always has been.

‘My turn, then,’ Jan smiles, pushes a gift bag across to Gigi. She pulls out sheets of lilac tissue paper to find what feels like a weirdly-shaped sack. When she lifts it out of the bag, the others’ confusion is evident.

‘It’s a cat,’ Jan clarifies, reaching over to tap one of the points on the gift that Gigi thinks, if she squints, could resemble ears.

‘Is it?’ Asks Jackie, face twisted. 

‘You sure?’ Nicky snorts and whacks her on the arm.

‘Yeah!’ Jan fake glares at them, and locks eyes with Gigi. ‘I made him for you, because you mentioned that one time that you wanted a cat but your mom’s allergic.’ 

Gigi thanks her, and the smile doesn’t leave her face all night. 

She names the cat Charlie. He sits at the foot of her bed from then on, and she can’t help but grin every time she sees him.

Sunday, March 6th

‘If we can’t agree on something, we can always just rewatch Mean Girls,’ Gigi suggests, leaning her head back against her pillow and rubbing her eyes. ‘It’s a classic for a reason.’

Nicky groans, throws a cushion across the room, laughs as it flies and hits Gigi in the head. ‘I’m so fucking bored of mean girls.’ Gigi flips her off and picks up her phone, busying herself by scrolling through the same ten instagram posts in her feed she’s seen twenty times today already.

‘We could watch Stranger Things or something?’ Jackie pipes up, scrolling through Netflix. ‘I’ve heard that’s good.’

‘Ooh, Jake said he didn’t like it, though,’ Jan replies, looking up from her phone for a whole second before glancing back down and laughing at something she sees. 

‘Ooh, Jake isn’t fucking here, ’ Gigi snaps, slamming her phone onto the couch beside her. ‘Can’t you think for yourself, or would he not like that either?’

It’s so quiet, you could hear a pin drop. Jan’s face drops, and Gigi feels a guilt unlike anything she’s ever known before at the sight of her staring blankly across the room, eyes welling up with tears. Her eyes narrow and she shakes her head, stands up, and walks out silently. The sound of the door slamming behind her echoes and hits Gigi like a bullet through the chest.

Saturday, June 11th

For Jan’s birthday, they congregate in her kitchen and take shot after shot of cheap tequila until Nicky can’t take a step without falling face-first onto the cold linoleum tiles. Jackie sighs, picks her up like it’s nothing and carries her into the living room, rolling her eyes. 

‘She’s such a mom,’ Jan comments, pulling herself up to sit on the counter, swinging her legs back and forth like a kid on a swing. If she notices her heels hitting the cabinets a bit too hard, she doesn’t say anything. Gigi laughs and jumps up beside her, grabbing onto Jan’s arm when she nearly falls, collapsing into giggles on her shoulder when she makes it up successfully.

‘Happy birthday,’ she says, holding onto Jan’s hand just a bit too tight. Jan thanks her, still laughing.

‘It’s weird to do this on a Saturday,’ Jan muses, squeezing Gigi’s hand. ‘I’m so used to Sundays with you all, it feels wrong.’

‘No!’ Gigi replies, and Jan winces at her volume. ‘You’ve had a really nice day!’

‘I have, yeah,’ she giggles, nodding.

‘What’d you get?’ Gigi asks, swings their hands back and forth. ‘From people that weren’t me.’

‘A lot of gift cards,’ Jan replies. ‘And chocolate. Pretty boring.’

‘What about Jake?’

Jan scrunches up her face and shudders. ‘He got me a fucking Forever 21 gift card.’

Gigi scoffs, lets go of Jan’s hand and places both hands on her face, turning Jan’s head to meet her eyes. ‘ Fuck him,’ she says, more force in her words than she realises. Jan smiles, but it doesn’t meet her eyes. Gigi looks at her, confused.

‘No, I didn’t mean to make you sad,’ she mumbles, shaking her head. Don’t be sad, it looks weird on you, you’re so pretty.’

Jan tilts her head up and there’s something in her eyes, soft and weird and wonderful, that makes Gigi feel like she’s floating. She swears she sees Jan glance down at her lips and lean in for a split second, but she’ll never know. 

Jackie pushes open the kitchen door and Jan springs back, pulls her hands away to fiddle with something on the other side of the counter. Jackie asks if they have any aspirin, Nicky’s complaining about a headache. Gigi hops off the counter, makes her way to the bathroom, and locks the door behind her.

Thursday, August 18th

There’s something about the way Nicky’s looking at her from across the table that scares the shit out of Gigi, but she tries her best to ignore it and grabs another slice of pizza, glancing around the restaurant. Neither of them have spoken much the whole time they’ve been out - it’s weird, for the lack of a better phrase.

‘So what, did you just feel like treating me?’ Gigi asks, laughs nervously, takes a sip of her Coke through its red-and-white striped straw. Nicky looks at her and her eyes are so full of poorly disguised pity it makes Gigi feel like a child.

‘You know I’m not one to avoid bringing shit up, right?’ Nicky replies, stirring her drink absentmindedly. Gigi nods. ‘What’s up?’

‘And it’s only coming from a place of love-’

‘Nicky.’

‘You,’ she says, slamming one hand on the table, ‘need to suck it up and get the fuck over Jan.’

Gigi’s eyes widen and she inhales too fast in shock, choking on her drink. Nicky watches, failing miserably to bite back laughter.

‘I don’t know what you’re talking about.’ Gigi takes another sip and her eyes dart around the room, trying to find something distracting to focus on.

‘Don’t bullshit me,’ Nicky laughs. ‘It’s been two months since her birthday party, and I don’t know what the fuck happened, but I haven’t seen you speak to her since, and I hate it. You’re acting as if she’s poisonous.’

She is, now, thinks Gigi. She may as well be. 

‘I don’t need to get over anyone,’ she stresses. ‘Nothing happened , we just haven’t spoken much recently.’

‘I do talk to Jackie, you know,’ Nicky replies, reaching across the table to grab Gigi’s hand. ‘I’m just saying this because I care about you. I don’t want anything between us all going sour. I love you all too much. Also, she has a boyfriend.’

Gigi smiles, but she’s sure it comes out as more of a grimace. ‘If you care so much, can you drop it? Nothing will go sour, because nothing happened.’

Nicky shoots her a knowing look, but does as she asks.

Saturday, October 1st

When Jake breaks up with Jan, she messages their group chat in floods of tears, and Gigi’s never invited them over faster. A stupid move, maybe, but for a second, as she types, she’s just Jan’s friend, and she wants to be there for her.

It was a stupid move. Definitely a stupid move.

She sits with Jan, holds her for hours on end, wipes her tears and orders the other two around to try to cheer her up as much as possible. There’s a kind of sick sadistic enjoyment in knowing she’s the only person that can make Jan feel better and she doesn’t want to acknowledge it in the fucking slightest, so she doesn’t, lets it bubble underneath the surface but keeps it contained until she can’t handle it anymore. When it gets to that point, she grabs the wine.

She lays next to Nicky making stupid Grease references and then Jan leaves and they’re alone, and her mood shatters into pieces, and all she wants to do is sweep them under the coffee table with the rest of the overpriced breakup cupcakes and leave them there.

‘What’s wrong, doll?’ Nicky grabs her hand and squeezes it comfortingly.

‘Is it bad that I’m happy about it?’ Gigi asks, tilting her head towards the door, avoiding eye contact at all cost. ‘Does that make me a bad person?’

‘What, being happy that your best friend just got dumped? Yeah, maybe?’ Nicky comments, narrowing her eyes. ‘Didn’t we talk about this? I don’t think this is the best time to let your feelings come into play, G.’

‘It’s not my feelings,’ Gigi replies, her voice quiet. ‘I just mean because he was kinda gross to her, that’s all.’ There’s not much conviction in her voice, and it seems like she’s trying to convince herself more than anything. Nicky buys it, somehow.

Sunday, October 16th

She kisses Nicky for the first time outside of a bar. It’s too early to warrant them being anywhere near drunk, and she tastes like cheap wine, and it feels rushed, and impulsive, but not wrong. She checks her phone and they’re late to meet Jan and Jackie, and she feels like she shouldn’t feel as bad about it as she does, because Nicky doesn’t seem to care at all.

They stop at a corner store on the way to Jackie’s house to pick up some snacks, and Gigi tries her best to ignore the tightness in her throat when Nicky grabs her hand as they’re walking along the street.

She turns to Gigi suddenly, grabs her other hand as she walks backwards, and almost makes her drop the plastic bag. 

‘What are we?’ She asks, her dramatic faux-old Hollywood movie accent strong. She looks at Gigi with dark, worried eyes, stays silent for a good five seconds, and then she laughs, and Gigi laughs with her, relieved she was joking, unsure of how she’d have coped if Nicky was serious. Nothing , she thinks. And I think I want to keep it that way .

Nicky kisses her again, spontaneous and odd, against the wall of an alley near Jackie’s house. Gigi feels like a kid, sneaking around in the sunset, but she thinks maybe she could get used to it. If she closes her eyes and focuses hard enough, she can almost mess up the mental picture enough to turn Nicky’s hair blonde, and her eyes blue, and her hands softer, and make everything how she wishes it was.

They get to Jackie’s, and neither of them say a word. Gigi sees Jan’s dejected eyes when they show up, and she wishes she’d gone to that stupid fucking family party after all.

Sunday, October 30th

They stick a dumb horror movie on the tv and let it play as background noise once Jackie leaves. It hits one in the morning and Gigi and Nicky are the only ones awake. It’s weird of Jan to fall asleep so early, but Gigi can’t bring herself to engage her in conversation long enough to keep her up and Nicky’s too busy shit-talking people on her instagram feed to create much of a compelling reason for her to be up, either.

Gigi looks between them and feels suddenly, overwhelmingly lost, and she wants to get up and escape, get a glass of water, clear her head, but it’s like she’s frozen in place. She doesn’t want to be around either of them right now, but lucky for her, she’s with both, and acknowledging whatever the hell’s going on with either would be equally painful. 

So she sits, eyes glued to the shitty slasher flick on the screen in front of her, and tries to focus on the plot enough to distract herself from the room she’s in. 

Nicky taps her on the shoulder and breaks her trance, beckons her over to the corner she’s in.

‘Look at this,’ she whispers, pushes her phone towards Gigi to show her some kind of gross-looking outfit picture taken by god knows who. ‘Can you believe people leave the house like that?’ Gigi laughs, but it’s more of a formality than anything else. Nicky scrolls down and finds an old favourite vine and they laugh together, genuinely this time, watch it on repeat a few times.

Nicky looks at Gigi and sighs, hooks a finger under her chin and tries to pull her closer. ‘ Stop it,’ she objects, the sternness she tries to convey masked by the last of her laughs at the joke. ‘Not with Jan here.’

‘She’s asleep, baby,’ Nicky insists. ‘It’s fine.’

Gigi shakes her head and pushes herself back across the wooden floor, leaving Nicky confused. ‘Later?’ She mouths, and Gigi gives her a half-hearted nod, pulling herself to her feet. As she walks to the kitchen, trying to ignore Jan’s heavy breathing from the couch, she wishes she could just leave, walk off into the night, and not have to talk to either of them for as long as possible.

Idk Topanga and Shawn came to mind but they don’t seem quite as unlikely on the real and maybe it would have been cool to see the main character be in an interracial relationship. Be cool the stories that might come from that. Damn... now I kinda wish that happened

Fucking Good Place is beast like let’s be real they eat PLL for breakfast (I did genuinely enjoy PLL I swear lol) and they know when to quit while they’re ahead. Even if the constant reset to Eleanor and Chidi is driving me up a goddamn WALL

1. Favorite time in a day? why? - Uh I’d probably say early morning till noon or late at night because it’s either the most peaceful or the most calming time of the day for me.

2.Favorite series? - I’m currently rewatching FMAB and it’s great and I love it and anyone who watched it needs to rewatch it too or anyone who hasn’t needs to watch it (it’s on Netflix please watch it) but besides show if you mean literally any series (books,movies,tv,etc) The Adventure Zone is a wonderful podcast series go please listen to it. Now’s a marvelous time because we’re slowly trying to find a new campaign and there are mini arcs now! And Balance is SUCH a good (it’s like 69 eps? or something like that) and it’s about an hour long each ep but it’s so good!!!

3. Any character in particular that’s stuck to you? - Taako. I’m literally kin with the fuck lmfao. He just?? Resonates with me so much and helps me feel better. I just love him so much and loving him feels like I’m loving myself too so it’s a win-win uwu*

4. What’s your aesthetic? - *sweats nervously as my aesthetic is so scattered* but aside from that it can go from edgy to pastel aesthetic to vintage aesthetic and it’s really just all over the place I’m so sorry

5. Favorite hobby? - Can doing nothing count? I’m either doing work or on tumblr or doodling lmao. And my work DOES involve art so it is now both my work and hobby lol. Sleeping could be my fave hobby bc it’s so so nice

6. If you were in a zombie apocalypse, who would you wanna get stuck with? - Uuuhh my dnd group ig? I think we’d at the very least be SOMEWHAT capable to handle ourselves :”)

7. If you were to create a game of your own, what would the gameplay be and what would it be about? -  Something like Breath of the Wild if I’m honest? But perhaps something to do with my OCs and their universe or an entirely new thing? The gameplay would be a mix between Dark Souls and BOTW I guess? Some mechanics blending together and stuff and all that (I’m not sure which specific ones but if I really spent time thinking about it I could probably pinpoint it.) As to what it would be about? Not sure. But I’d want it to be completely worth getting and probably put a twist at the end to make people be like “WHAT THE FUCK”

8. A dream you most vividly remember? - I already talked about this but it’s the dream where I had Dark Souls-esque deaths meaning I’d die then be “resurrected” and go back into the zone that killed me (idk why. I talked about this in another ask I’m sure you can find if you go into the “Hawke answers” tag awendaw

9. Any mythical creature you’d wanna meet? - Dragon. Dragon dragon dragon. I want to literally talk to a dragon or at least SEE one yknow? Cool beasts my dude.

10. If you could end any character you didn’t like in particular, who would it be? - This doesn’t count because he’s fucken in jail in canon but Sazed from TaZ. He, in my opinion, is such an asshole and I just wanna straight up punch him in the face.
