had to take a moment today to remember how I started creating content for tony & ziva during the pandemic and then I was rewatching the show with such naive and dreamy intentions (trying to remember who they were) without fully grasping the complexities of them

and now that I'm older™ and wiser™ I see them as my two older best friends (cheesy I know) but also as these huge complex characters that deserve to have a better explanation of their story in much more detail than my dreamy scenarios about them

only to say that I can't believe we're getting a spin-off and I get to experience them again. I grew up with them and will continue to analyze them always

I just wanna apologize for being inactive for about 2 months. I have a lot of going on, and i don’t really have time to sit down and write, also doesn’t help that i’ve never written fan fiction before. I have a lot of drafts, but i’m kinda insecure about them, because I think that they are ass.

I will probably post next week, don’t really know what day, but trust. Also I want to thank you for still following me even if I haven’t posted.

Death Cleric origin story for a one shot im running (@thatsmimi 's character!!)

Context: A sheperd in the their small town that's about to be attacked by raiders. Death refuses to take one person, a divine connection is forged.

"It's a normal day. The sun is just setting over the horizon and you're finishing the daily count of the animals before going back to the house to help with dinner. You didn't get a chance to react. The moment you began thinking about it, the spear was already deep in your heart. You saw darkness, and light, and something massive. Something incomprehensible, something you could feel calling to you. But somehow, you couldn't hear it, instead of being pulled you fell back down.

You woke up. You opened your eyes, still leaning over the upright staff that was jammed into the ground by your own body weight. The smell of animal guts hit your nostrils before the smell of human blood. You stood up without pulling the spear out, looking around. Half the buildings in your town were burnt away, unrecognizable from the form you swore you'd seen just moments ago. Your home is gone, and so are your memories of happiness, for now. You pull out the spear but no blood comes out. Walking through the town, still grasping the cold metal, you see only a few survivors. You can't see your family buried under the rubble of your house. You look out towards the horizon, the sun is rising. A hesitant hand touches your shoulder but when you turn you find nothing. A small necklace hangs from your staff. A spear through a heart decorates the pendant. You wear it with purpose. The sun is rising, but the warmth faded away from your skin"

This is actually because academia fucking sucks and researchers don't get grants to replicate experiments. Investors want something new and bold every time so scientific integrity goes out the window when people want to experimentally verify a paper but don't get the resources to do it. It's why one guy faking results about spider behavior results in 40 papers being redacted or corrected

Scientific fraud is the most baffling thing ever to me like do they think they're just going to make a huge breakthrough and no one will notice that it's fake by trying to replicate their results
