rather protective, soft spot for weak people regardless of the above... she postures a bit

my bg3 character, tried to be a big hero and truly both succeeded and failed... romanced Minthara and currently on the road traveling maybe even conquering the realms as wives

Balune (Lu)

udadrow storm sorcerer, studied as a wizard unsuccessfully but always bubbly, optimistic regardless (trying not to feel so bad about it)

daughter of Baeloth Barrityl and a Sshamath wizard, close to both of her parents but right now is caught in the ordeal of coming out as trans(fem) and feeling apprehensive about it

kind of sheltered when it comes to the world outside of the underground city but instantly fascinated by surface weather. wants to be a magician, with a weather show underground

thinks her city is great and could never leave it for the surface but likes being somewhere with less expectations for her for a moment

doesn't use alliteration but does use parasol

Vlonavinia (Vinnie)

udadrow cleric of Lolth, not from Sshamath too but a merchant clan in Menzoberranzan

works at Arach-Tinilith and is proud of it but not actually a mistress. currently a secretary

gentle heart but hardened personality out of hard circumstances, bullying and rivalry that defined her education years at the academy

The cishet... in love (yes) and once an affair with Sorcere master Tsabrak Xorlarrin that got cut short by his matron. she promptly freaked out and left her job for an outpost position to not displease Lolth any further

plays the lute in her free time, not great at that but enjoys it... reminds her of her love and it really does her well to have a hobby

my character for Out of the Abyss. it gets worse. but eventually it could get better...

Arauglora (might rename)

gold dwarf wizard, a "thunder twin" with an affinity for magic as many of her generation but little way of competing for the attention and apprenticeships of scant senior wizards

born in the Great Rift rather than the Deep Realm, so setting out on the surface is less unusual, she's always looked at those skies

loves history, language and the arcane arts

still a bit apprehensive because she's not a warrior but a scholar so she joins up with a caravan in the Shaar as a guard somewhat paradoxically... but a mage guard is useful!

very stubborn, determined even when the decision isn't the best... not peer reviewed and it doesn't need to be, now trust in her

currently not a tabletop character, playing crpgs with her (nwn, maybe bg3 later too)

Prue

tiefling, from a somewhat wealthy and very ambitious Chondathan human family in Zhentil Keep, dad is one of many Zhentarim wizards

lives hidden away in her family's home, she's not a good marriage match but they profess to love her so they keep her around and train her in magic. rather limited form of magic as my own take on an artificer, a magic weaver. true wizard training would be a bit too much autonomy, she is meant to be useful enough

uses arcane eye to spy for her family and to catch up on what goes on in the city as well

still working on her later story lol but she's going to narrowly survive Cyric's attack on the city, run away into the wild scared, run into a goodly hag of some sort and maybe become her apprentice. alchemist artificer

in love with Scyllua Darkhope from afar and uses all her magic (and then some!) to bring her back to life and nurse her back to health

not playing her anywhere but if I figure out how I might just do it... preferably not in 5e

Thistle

rock gnome + shield dwarf ranger, meant to study the crafts of her family but no good at it, finds peace from this frustration in nature

very outdoorsy and can take all the elements but hates being seen as dirty or sloppy, takes meticulous care of her hair, beard and stache

from somewhere in north Faerun but wants to travel the world... has probably met Glora and Isemay, to what impression I'm not sure

despite Vlatka being the most fairy tale kind of character here, Thistle takes the crown of the princess who speaks to animals and all...

alas not very developed story yet, I wanted a versatile character to play crpgs like iwd and nwn. she wants to be a sort of heroic ranger like Drizzt (not sure how she knows him but you do) just to prove her worth to everyone

she can also appear in 5e as an older, more grizzled ranger, so look how far she's come

i turn 24 today. To celebrate, I made this comic to be a spiritual successor to lead balloon, a comic in which I talked about the darkest period of my life so far.

A lot has changed since my 23rd birthday and this one. My priorities have shifted a lot, in ways that I think are mostly good. But i think the best part about today is that suicide has gone back to being a far away notion. I'm really lucky, and I'm grateful for that.

there's this borderline hysterical laugh garak breaks into a couple of times during the early seasons that is so special to me. like. this man. this man is so high (constantly) and probably drunk (frequently) and he's at all times teetering on the very brink of despair that only pure spite, immense stubbornness, and getting to gaze at julian bashir's smiling face across the lunch table once a week is holding him back from tipping over. and then he has to deal with people like skrain dukat and gul toran on top of that and you can practically hear the cracks forming as he's barely holding on to whatever remains of his sanity by the skin of his teeth

yall are about to piss me off by not having any PASSING basic knowledge of the way the u.s. military manipulates its recruits into joining by typing up one of your uninformed, unresearched, unempathetic, individualistic, unbelievably annoying posts about how 100% of the people in the military ended up there because they just Love America So Damn Much! they're extremely mature and informed at time of recruitment, they can totally leave anytime they want, they totally had tons of other avenues in life they could've taken, there was no rush at all to get income as fast as possible, and everyone in the military also totally is part of the combat divisions and personally enjoys being IN the military very much, big believers of violence. everyone in the military is shooting guns all day, that's how that works. they LOVE BLOODSHED. also I love the "amewicans haha" twang to this type of shit because you're actually TOTALLY stealing our Thing, which is turning systemic issues into Individual Issues. Instead of talking about the powers that be, it's so Personal Choice up in here. It's, "well you shouldn't have done it then. I totally wouldn't because I know better." you don't wanna talk about the military industrial complex as a whole, and you don't want to talk about recruiters, you just want to pin the blame on Specific Individual People one-by-one, as if they're responsible for the system that they're being ground up in. someone was in the military? bad person, no matter what. it's easier to believe that, I guess, than to acknowledge that Normal People (with high school educations) are manipulated and incentivized into joining a system that is Bad. at like age 18. but yeah no that 18 year old should have just been smarter lol haha anyway here are some screenshots for no particular reason

i actually really love how samantha shannon is handling trans/nonbinary characters in her roots of chaos world. they blend seamlessly into her world building, so much so that i don't always notice there's something different. non binary noble? they sure as fuck don't want to be called lord or lady! they are styled 'lade'.

someone uses they/them pronouns? cool! we're not going to waste time going through an explaining that. it's just instant, all our characters refer to the person's preferred pronouns without any second thought.

she really keeps saying, yeah? this story has dragons and witches and wyverns. and it's gonna be queernorm too. don't like it? well fuck off.

"What will you do once I pass away?" The question came out of the blue, but such strange questions were par for the course at this point. Gamigin was nuzzling to your neck when you spoke, but he wasn't phased.

"I'll revive you. Death won't be permenent in Paradise Lost for as long as I'm around to stop it." You were running a hand through his blue hair, playing with a strand of it.

"But what if you don't revive me? If you can't revive me? What will you do then?" The dragon stopped kissing up your neck and shifted so he would be at eye level with you on the bed. He looked confused and hurt which almost made you ashamed that you asked the question.

"My staff can bring anyone back from the dead."

"Ok, but I age and demons don't what about that? What if I get so old I want to die to end my mysery."

Gamigin looked even more confused by your words. He didn't quite understand why humans aged so fast. He pouted in thought and stared at the ceiling. After a while, with a stern voice he asks "How long do humans usually live for?"

You try to remember your anthropology classes and what the avarage age of death was for your country, but you just can't put your finger on it. "I don't know, 70 or something like that." "70! Only 70 years!?!" He pushed you to the bed and pinned you to it with a shocked expression. His mind was working overtime trying to calculate just how long that timespan felt like.

Finally, he turns to you and holds your hands softly kissing them both. He stares determined in your eyes. "You are going to have the most exciting life ever. I promise you. What do you wish to do before you die?"

You've never seen him so stern, but the question was one that you've many times asked yourself yet never seemed to have an answer to. Gamigin's glare was starting to intimidate you so you gently slap his face.

"Don't look at me like that! You're making me nervous! I don't know what I want to do before I die. I just kind of want to see where life takes me."

Gamigin smiles like he usually does and pins you to the bed with a hug. His staff, which he kept in one hand at all times, jiggled lively as you both collapsed on the cottage bed.

"Well then, I want to cuddle with you and rewatch the 'How to Train Your Dragon' trilogy. And then we can play blackjack and whoever wins has to wash the dishes after dinner!" Gamigin proclaimed before kissing your cheek and nuzzling into it.

"Who tought you blackjack?" It was strange hearing your usually innocent boyfriend putting forth the idea of blackjack of all things.

"My brother Buer. He also thought me the dishes strategy as well. Jokes on him, I won." His giggle was contagious and you two ended up just cuddling and watching movies for the better half of the night.

If your relationship with Gamigin thought you anything, it was that you didn't have to live through bombastic experiences to enjoy life. You were having the time of your life just being close to him.

A Batfam AU where instead of going to get Dick to be Robin again Tim uses necromancy to bring Jason back from the dead. He just leaves Jason on the Wayne doorstep with a 'do better this time' sticky note. Batman can't find out who did it and Tim stays his little latchkey self with semi ok but distant parents (cus canonical they weren't really abusive just not there which isn't good but they could be worse). His parents bring him along on trips but again they love him but they just leave him to do as he pleases. so in Paris he ends up still getting trained by Lady Shiva. This keeps going and Tim just keeps reviving batfam members, if they fake their deaths and Tim tracks them down to check on them. They still have no idea who their shadow is, they can't find him, Tim likes it this way. Bruce goes MIA and Red Robin happens just minus Tim actually being Red Robin. The JLA doorstep gets a passed-out Batman with a 'I can't believe I have to keep doing this shit' sticky note on his head.

I think I'm going to have to go with tumblr, and it's not just because we're here. Twitter and Bluesky are nice and my experiences on both are overwhelmingly positive. But tumblr has an atmosphere that encourages originality, sharing your creations and talking about things in depth.
