˖ ݁𖥔 ݁ “MY BOYFRIEND IS GONNA KICK YOUR ASS !”
PT 2: WINDBREAKER BOYS PROTECTING YOU FROM PERVS. ft. yamato endo, chika takiishi, akihiko nirei, taiga tsugeura, & choji tomiyama x f!reader
PART 1: kaji, togame, umemiya, sakura, suo, hiragi, kiryu, & sugishita x f!reader
sfw. wc: 1.7K. ohh i had sm fun w endo’s hehe <3 individual warnings are below, but f!reader: referred to as she / her.
YAMATO ENDO. ‘my girl,’ ‘angel’ & ‘pretty thing’
“Hey,” Endo’s voice cuts through the thick air like a blade, heavy arm coming to rudely rest on one of their shoulders. “What do you think you’re doing scaring her into a corner like that? Tryna get at my girl?”
On a normal day, you’d roll your eyes at the teasing tone he always uses around you— but today, it brings you nothing but relief, fresh tears threatening to spill as you choke out his name.
His presence alone is enough to silence the group of guys who had just been talking over you moments prior, the three men in front stiffening at the sight of him alone. They can hardly believe this.
You really weren’t bluffing when you said Endo would kick their asses— he’s frightening.
They exchange knowing looks when they hear you sniffle, hands coming to wipe at the tears that had begun streaming down your cheeks. They were so fucked.
“N-no! Of course not.” One of them breaks the silence.
“We had no idea she was your girl— ” another one stammers, hands coming up defensively.
“Didn’t know? You serious?”
Endo’s voice comes out sharp, eyes narrowing as he puts more weight onto his arm, grinning at the way the man’s knees start to tremble at the pressure. “My angel here doesn’t usually look at me like that, y’know,” he whispers, jutting a thumb in your direction. “So what’d you do to put that terrified look on her face?”
“Sorry— we’re really sorry.” One of them starts to apologize profusely, but your boyfriend was clearly not in his usual good mood today, and he grabs his face roughly, ignoring the way his cries of pain come out muffled against his palm.
“Asked you a question, didn’t I?”
The veins along his forearm bulge when his grip tightens, and you hear a painful crack, the man’s hands coming to desperately scratch and claw at Endo’s arms. “She likes it when i’m nice, so I’ll give you a second chance to quit spewing some fucking nonsense and answer me, yeah?”
The two men behind him exchange glances before stumbling over their words, desperately coming up with any excuse that came to their minds. One of them accidentally slips out the truth. A “we told her we’d make a mess of that pretty face if she kept turning us down” and the group falls completely silent.
“I-it’s okay!” You stammer, hands come to tug at his the back of your boyfriend’s jacket.
Unfortunately for them, your words fall on deaf ears. He lets go of the one he’s holding by the face, not sparing him a second glance as he drops to the floor with a loud thud.
“Okay, i think i get it now,” Endo says through a genuine laugh, and it sends a shiver down your spine. He’s not facing you, but you think you can picture the expression on his face pretty well. “E-Endo-”
“Fifteen.” He speaks slowly. “I’ll meet you in front of that corner store in fifteen, pretty thing.”
CHIKA TAKIISHI.
Oh— so that’s why you’re late today.
Takiishi watches from a distance as you jut your thumb towards your phone screen, your usual chirpy voice laced with anger now as you repeat yourself with a frustrated huff. “I said have a boyfriend.. see? His contact is right here. Can you leave me alone now?”
“And I said I didn’t give a fuck about your little boyfriend.” The man laughs loudly when your lips wrinkle in disgust. “I prefer the ones with an attitude.”
“What do you think he’s gonna do if he finds out, huh?” He reaches out to get a feel of your hair. “Think he can touch me?”
“Takiishi’s gonna knock your lights out cold,” you spit, slapping his hand away when it comes too close to your face. That seemed to be enough to set him off, his eyebrow twitching in anger as he takes a step towards you, looming over your figure with quick breaths.
“Don’t piss me off— I was nice when I said you’d have a good time if you came with me.”
“I’d rather eat shit-” you seethe, angry expression contorting when he grabs firmly around your wrist— “That hurts!” It makes you wince, your phone hitting the concrete with a thud.
“What do you think you’re doing?” The coldness of his voice sends a shiver down your spine.
“Ah- Takiishi—”
The man jerks his head around at the name, hand still gripping your wrist as he sizes him up. His first thought is that he’s alright. He notices the muscle definition right away, but he doesn’t look particularly heavy. There is, however, a sudden coldness in the air that he can’t quite grasp, and you look awfully relieved now that he’s here.
“So you’re the boyfriend she’s been talking about?” He says with a laugh. “You gonna let her come with me?”
“Move. Don’t waste our time.”
“Huh? Who the fuck do you think you’re talking t—”
“I said move.”
Your mind can hardly comprehend the speed, mind just barely able to register the second Takiishi’s foot connects with the man's chest, sending him crashing to the ground beside you in an instant.
He’s beside you the next second, fingers coming to fix the stray pieces of hair beside your eyes. “Did he hurt you?”
“N-no! I’m okay.”
He’s monotone, as usual, but the hint of concern makes your heart flutter anyways. He lets you latch yourself onto his bicep, lets you tighten your grip around his arm as you fume about the audacity that guy had, and most importantly, he makes sure you call him every time you’re about to leave your home alone.
TAIGA TSUGEURA. someone touches around your lower back
“My bench has blown up since i switched to bulldog grip,” Tsugeura rambles, “and my squat too. The ‘tripod foot’ cue really helps with even foot pressure.”
You nod along, always interested when he tells you about things he loves, but your attention shifts when you feel a hand press against your lower back. It’s not Taiga’s touch. It’s too unfamiliar. Too invasive. Your eyes fill with panic when you feel the hand start to roam downwards, and you can barely stammer out Tsugeura’s name, voice trembling too much for him to hear.
“I should also get new knee sleeves eventually.” He continues, and you curse his obliviousness. “The cue helps, but I would get way more bounce if I had a pair of Inzers instead of the flimsy ones I’m using now.”
“I always get stuck at the bottom of my squat, so they would help. But i know pause squats help with that, so I could also implement those—”
Your grip tightens on Tsugeura’s shirt, knuckles turning white as you try your hardest to convey your situation. He pauses mid-sentence, finally picking up on the expression you’re giving him.
“Whoa— you okay?” His voice is filled with concern when he peers down at you.
His gaze trails down, and that’s when he notices it.
You gasp at the speed of it all. In an instant, the man is slammed into the wall behind you, loud thud echoing throughout the entire train. “No way.” His voice is loud, and you hear the bystanders gasping and whispering, their attention shifting to the scene.
“That’s messed up, man.” Tsugeura’s voice comes out low, a serious glare on his face that you’ve never seen on him. The vice grip he has around the man’s wrist tightens, enough to have him yelping in pain and stammer out an apology.
“Turn yourself in at the next stop, yeah?”
CHOJI TOMIYAMA.
“Tell me— who was that?” Choji asks, latching himself around your middle to wrap you in a tight embrace, and you glance at the unconscious man sprawled on the ground beside you.
“You knocked him out cold without knowing anything?” You ask incredulously, arms coming to return his embrace regardless, and your lips curl into a small smile when he melts into your touch.
“Mhm. He was bothering you, right?” His voice comes out cheerful, but there’s a small trace of worry in his eyes when he meets your gaze.
He hates to admit it, but his body had completely moved on his own. It’s a bad habit he’s developed since meeting you, because he finds himself worrying about you— desperately wanting to put his strength to use and protect you from everything he saw as ‘bad.’ It was only after he had jump kicked the man grabbing at your arm that he had considered the slim possibility that maybe he wasn’t bothering you in the first place.
“He was.”
He lets out an exhale he didn’t know he was holding. “Then….it was okay that I kicked him in the face, right?”
He relaxes a bit more when you nod, his usual smile returning to his lips. “Thank you for saving me, Choji.”your voice comes out soft and soothing, and he feels his heart skip a beat at the praise.
AKIHIKO NIREI.
“Ah— where are we going?!” You yelp as you stumble forward, barely able to keep up as Nirei pulls you by the wrist.
The two of you were at the mall, shopping for new summer clothes when he had suddenly called you to him by name— dragging you and your bags along with him in an instant. Before you could even realize what had happened, you’re in an elevator, watching in disbelief as he fumbles to frantically click the ‘close’ button, the doors finally sliding shut after the tenth click.
“You’re safe.” He sighs. “That’s a relief.”
“You scared the shit outta me.” you fold your arms across your chest and give him a glare. “What was that for?”
“Sorry,” Nirei chuckles lightly. “There was a guy who kept looking at you. He’s bad news.”
“How can you tell?”
You feel more at ease when his fingers come to interlace with yours again, and you feel him squeeze. “I guess um…” his other hand scratches the back of his head. “I have this sort of danger sense whenever it comes to you.”
“Something like that.”

KINKTOBER DAY 5 — MASK KINK. endo yamato x f! reader ノ endo thought you were just joking about masks being hot— but if you really like them so much, he might actually consider.
contains — degradation, dirty talk, fear play, mask kink, mirror sex, pet names, praise, teasing, 1189 word count
Endo wasn’t sure if you were being serious the first time you told him he would look hot in a Ghostface mask. Just laughed it off until he saw your lips tug into an angry pout.
So naturally, he was even more confused when you settled on holding out your screen in front of his face, twisting your phone to try and picture that it was actually him wearing it— and then you fell eerily silent.
The reaction you had given him right after that was weird— wide eyes with your lips awkwardly pressing into a tight line. An obvious sign he recognizes as you getting flustered. You always used to get like that when he teased you. The chance to fluster you even further presents itself to him, and of course, he pounces on it.
And he’s glad he did.
“Are you scared?” Endo’s hand tightens around your neck, forcing your cheek to press awkwardly against the mirror. You’re barely able to stay on your toes with the way his hips push you higher into your vanity— his cock nestled just between your ass.
You can feel each twitch— feel him pulse and throb against you and you know he needs you just as bad as you need him. “‘M not… not scared.”
The heat in your face makes it hard to even speak. Hard to breathe too. You hadn’t expected him to actually take this so seriously— but a part of you wonders if telling him about this kink of yours was actually a good idea. He might be too much to handle like this. You can feel your heart hammering against your chest, and you wonder if he’s able to hear it pound too.
You’re practically panting with need. It’s embarrassing— he looks too good like this. It’s not fair. Not fair at all.
Your mouth falls open in a loud moan when he presses himself harder against you, inching you further up your table. Even with the way your face is squished into the mirror like this, you can see him clearly.
Maybe too clearly.
The mask pairs perfectly with his tattoos— and Ghostface’s character fits him all too well.
It just feels so real.
“You’re not scared, huh?” He slowly cocks his head to the side, and you suck in a sharp breath. “What a bummer. You should be, pretty girl. You’re completely exposed.” His finger playfully flicks at your nipple, and your body shudders in response.
Endo leans in until his mask bumps against the side of your head, and your eyes slam shut on instinct. He’s so close— so close that you start to smell his cologne on top of how good he looks. “I can do whatever I want to you, you know. Anything. So how about now… feeling scared?” His hands roughly latch onto your hips, and a loud yelp slips out of your mouth.
He laughs at this. It’s a mean chuckle that you’re not used to hearing, but it’s all pretend— so it’s okay.
“That’s more like it. Fuck— you’re pretty when you’re scared. Feel that? Can you tell how good you make me feel?”
“Ahh..” he continues, and you can feel him nuzzle his mask into your neck. “I just have to ruin you. But— I’ll take my sweet time with you. That’s what you’d like though, isn’t it? To be fucked by a killer? How dirty. You’re a dirty, dirty girl, aren’t you?”
He presses his knee between your thighs, and you know he feels your slick coating it from the way he tilts his head. “See?” He pushes his leg up until your cunt, and the whine that leaves your lips is pure sin.
You were hoping he wouldn’t notice the way your juices have begun to drip down your leg, but it was too late for that. “Say it. Say you’re a dirty girl, or you’re not getting what you want.”
“I will!” You stammer. “I am. I.. I am.” It’s almost pathetic how fast you cave for him, but you’re confident that anyone in your shoes would have done the same.
“Not good enough. You have to use your words.”
He gives you a warning thrust, cock easily sliding between your thighs and it rubs against your clit perfectly, ripping another moan out of you.
He’s always been such a mean tease, hasn’t he?
He pulls back, just enough to give you a second thrust and the way his tip rubs against your folds already has your thighs trembling and smacking against his own. “Y-you’re mean. I’m..” your voice trails off into a low whisper, “I’m a dirty girl.”
He stills, fat tip prodding at your hole for a few moments. “You are, aren’t you? How obedient.” His hand latches around your face, squeezing your cheeks to crane your neck and make you face yourself. He pushes his entire length inside you the next second, chuckling at the way your mouth drops open in a silent scream. “Oh, you dirty, dirty girl. You took all of me. That’s how drenched you are. Feeling full? Feeling good, huh? Even when you should be scared out of your mind. How cute.”
“A-ah—” your walls flutter desperately around his length, trying to accommodate his size, but he’s always been a big stretch. “Endo… move—”
“Ah, ah” he tsks. “You’re giving me orders? How rude.” His hand slams over your mouth as soon as he sets a brutal pace against you, and you can tell he’s smiling ear to ear when your eyes roll back into your skull. “Much better.”
Each roll of his hips brings you a little closer to your high— tightens the knot in your core a little more— and it’s harder to stay upright with how hard he’s slamming into you. You’re forced to rise higher and higher onto your toes, almost entirely off the ground— and he doesn’t slow down even then.
“Gonna make you gush all over me,” he growls, “then I’ll toss you on the bed and stuff my fingers in you. Make you squirt all over the mask you love so much. How’s that sound?”
His hand hooks under one of your legs, lifting it onto your vanity so he can reach even deeper inside you, and you gasp. “F-fuck— fuck, gonna.. gonna cum!”
“How lucky. You’re a lucky girl— I’m being nice letting you cum like this. Next time, you’d better ask, yeah?”
His grip is tight around your hips, and your hands slam against your mirror, eyes barely able to lock onto your boyfriend before he gives you a particularly hard thrust, and you’re thrown headfirst into your orgasm.
“Ah!” You scream, eyes slamming shut as you shake underneath him. It’s a violent one. Has your frame shaking and your cunt spasming around his length— and he’s kind enough to slow down for you. Just a bit. Gives you long and deep thrusts to help you ride out your high, but he’s not even close to being done with you.
He’s planning on getting good use of the mask he went out of his way to get for you.

21ST CENTURY GIRL ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 .ᐟ ENDO YAMATO X FEM!READER .ᐟ if anyone keeps insulting you, tell 'em you're my lady, go tell them. whatever other people say, whatever this world tells you, you're the best to me just the way you are.
GO TO THE EVENT MASTERLIST
Tension, concentration, only breathing and footsteps could be heard. Focused, you are focused. “Baby, on your left.” your boyfriend Endo Yamato said as he was spectating you because you were the last one alive on the team, and in fact, that was not good news. You have played the game countless times, but at moments like these, you were hella worried, looking around carefully, ready to shoot and most likely miss.
“Where are they?” you spoke into the mic as you moved across the map and heard your teammates pinning warnings, telling you to be careful. Your heart pounded as you scanned the site, eyes darting to every shadow, every possible cover where someone might be hiding. Endo’s voice cut through the silence, low and teasing. “Clutch or gay,” he snickered, trying to tease you as always.
“Oh, no,” you muttered, gripping the mouse tighter. Exhaling, you rolled your shoulders back, willing your nerves to settle. Just three opponents left. You’d handled worse odds before. The first opponent stepped out from behind a crate—bam, headshot. The victory tone chimed in your headset. You swung around, barely registering the second enemy’s movement in your peripheral vision. Another headshot. The third tried to duck behind cover, but you outmaneuvered him, and the final shot landed true and you heard Defenders win.
The big green Victory screen flashed across the monitor. You exhaled deeply, letting yourself finally feel the adrenaline coursing through your veins. "That was so stressful..." you said, taking a long breath before reaching for your water. Endo chuckled as you both closed the game and rejoined each other on Discord, turning your cameras on.
"But you did so good," he said, grinning. "You deserve a reward for that." It took you a second to notice—he wasn’t in his pajamas anymore but fully dressed, which threw you off.
"Why are you dressed? Are you going somewhere?" You wouldn’t be surprised if he was, either alone or with Takiishi. He always did whatever he wanted, and you couldn’t help but feel a little concerned. He turned off his camera briefly, saying he had to run some errands with a few delinquents. “I’ll see you soon. Don’t worry about it, doll,” he added. The call ended, and you both said “I love you” before signing off.
Delinquents, of course. Your relationship with Endo was still low-key and private; as much as you wanted to make it public, the fear of gossip and criticism held you back. But he always reassured you. Don’t ever be afraid of what people say. You’re okay. You’re perfect, worth every bit of love. You’re beautiful, and you’re mine. Those words would echo in your mind whenever doubts crept in, making you feel more confident in yourself.
Just as you were thinking of him, your phone buzzed—it was him, calling sooner than expected. He must have finished his errands quicker than usual, which meant more time together. You couldn’t help the smile that spread across your face.
“Would you mind opening the door for me, pretty girl?” he said, slightly breathless, and you wondered if he’d run all the way to your apartment. "Yamato…why are you here?" You hurried to the door, peeking through the peephole only to see him standing there with a big grin. As you opened the door, you were met with a massive plushie and a bouquet, blocking his face.
"Happy birthday to the prettiest, baddest, smartest, cutest, most amazing girlfriend in the whole wide world!" he announced, his voice bright.
My birthday? You put a hand over your mouth, a little shocked—you’d completely forgotten about your birthday with all the gaming, thoughts of him, and everyday life. “Baby, you really…you didn’t have to…” you stammered, feeling tears prickle at the corners of your eyes. No one had ever done something like this for you. You took the plushie from his hands, hugging it close as his smile grew.
“Don’t worry about anything else,” he said, gently brushing a stray tear from your cheek. “Let’s just enjoy this, okay?”
Inside, you placed the bouquet in the largest vase you could find, setting the plushie carefully on your bed. Meanwhile, Endo made himself comfortable on the couch, checking something on his phone before glancing up at you with a playful smirk. “Why aren’t you dressed?”
“For what?” you asked, confused. He rolled his eyes with a dramatic sigh, standing and taking your hand, guiding you towards your bedroom. “For your birthday, of course. I’m taking you out—and yes, in the middle of the night.”
Now in front of your wardrobe, you hesitated, glancing back at him as he relaxed on your bed, watching you and how you tried to decide what to put on in such late hours. “Wear the black dress you bought a few months ago. You never wore it, even though you promised yourself you would.” Slipping into the dress, he draped his jacket over your shoulders and you stepped outside together. Walking hand in hand with people recognized him, casting glances, but you didn’t care.
Everybody wanna love you, you thought, everybody gonna love you. You deserve to be loved. And here you were—loved, completely, by him.

Yandere! Yamato x G/N! Reader Headcanons
-.'✰'.- [a/n]: This is my first piece of fanfic content ever made (and posted). I hope it you guys like it lol
-.'✰'.- Content Warnings; yandere, stalking, kidnapping, manipulation, mentions of death (not detailed), loss of free will,
-.'✰'.- Additional Information: Minors DNI, not proofread, grammatical errors, possibly ooc(?), reader is not an esper.
I do not support the following topics in real life.
Shadowing someone who's never met or formally interacted with you may be considered a.. very unconventional activity, to say the least, but Yamato couldn't think of a better way to use his spare time as of late.
He paid close attention to your mannerisms, watching like a hawk as you fidgeted and bounced in place, periodically checking your phone.
What for? Were you waiting for something?
He didn't dwell on the thought for too long, opting to continue observing as you absentmindedly entertained yourself from where you stood.
Everything seemed perfectly fine to him.
Yamato turned away from you, just for a moment, and extracted his phone from his pocket, intending to check how much time he had left.
Glancing back to you briefly, he-
Wait.
His eyes narrow, body going rigid.
Despite being a ways away, he watched closely as you greeted a briskly approaching someone that he'd never seen before.
His grip on his phone tightened.
Who are they?
You embraced them briefly before conversing, quite expressively at that, with them.
Who is that?
Something apprehensive and wary bubbled up inside of him once the individual laid a hand on your shoulder and leaned in to say something to you.
Did you meet them recently?
They have to be new, or else he would know who they were.
What do they want from-
A raucous chortle suddenly fell from your lips before you stifled your apparent glee by placing your hand over you mouth.
Yamato heavily exhaled, his form visibly relaxing.
They must've told you a joke.
They're friendly.
It's nothing to worry about.
From where it rests in his hand, Yamato's phone vibrates.
He looks down at the device and sees a calendar alert displayed on it's screen.
He has to host an assembly meeting soon.
He sighs and moves to leave, making a mental note to run a background check on the individual talking with you later as he glanced over one more time before exiting the building.
He'll have to make his introduction to you soon.
It's best not to have any troublesome new acquaintances of yours complicating things for him.
-.'🪬'.- Yamato takes it upon himself to judge everyone who attempts to approach you. There's always more than what meets the eye.
-.'🪬'.- Certain companions and coworkers are fine, but people who intend to court you or have ulterior motives are dealt with swiftly.
-.'🪬'.- In order to minimize his chances of failing to pique your interest and keep it, he's has to know as much about you as possible while also keeping others out of the picture.
-.'🪬'.- Whether Yamato's following from somewhere close behind or receiving updates from a disguised subordinate, he almost always has eyes on you.
-.'🪬'.- Once he uses the information he's gathered to approach and reel you in, he's practically always with you in his downtime (he still has to lead the Twilight Order).
-.'🪬'.- From where he stands beside you as a relatively close friend, he can micromanage your relationships more effectively, picking and choosing who is and isn't good for you to be talking to.
-.'🪬'.- Even the friendly-looking ones cant escape his scrutinizing gaze.
-.'🪬'.- If any people that he's deemed unwelcome slip through the cracks and manage to make it to the conversation stage with you, Yamato's standing right behind you and giving that person a death stare.
-.'🪬'.- If you catch on and ask him about it, he'll look away, an artificial replica of a sheepish expression forming on his face as he explains that he's had a few bad experiences in his own life that have left him wary of everyone around him and he just wanted to make sure that you were safe.
-.'🪬'.- As you express your remorse for making him revisit such awful memories and thank him for his help, he simply smiles and assures you that it's fine.
-.'🪬'.- You trust far too easily.
-.'🪬'.- His smile wanes, just for a moment.
-.'🪬'.- Your faith in others could become a detriment.
-.'🪬'.- While he was absolutely ecstatic that you welcomed him into your life and home with open arms and let him bear witness to all of the little things that make you who you are, he couldn't help but listen to the little inkling in the back of his mind that told him that you would've let anyone in under the same pretenses.
-.'🪬'.- That someone could’ve spelt your doom.
-.'🪬'.- Taking note of his currently strained relationship with his own sister, he'll tread carefully, not wanting to make the same mistakes as last time.
-.'🪬'.- But, at this point, If he sees you at risk or in peril, especially if it’s due to another human being, he’s made up his mind.
-.'🪬'.- Naturally, you became apprehensive when Yamato told you that he decided that your safety was worth more than your autonomy, but it was nothing that the music box couldn’t quell.
-.'🪬'.- He’d take your docile body by the hand and lead you to the Twilight Order’s base, where you’d be quartered and prohibited from leaving the premises from then on.
-.'🪬'.- No amount of pleading or tears will dissuade him from his decision to keep you with him.
-.'🪬'.- If his own sister’s screams of anguish couldn’t change his mind, you have no chance of convincing him.
-.'🪬'.- He understands that you're most likely going to despise him for what he's done to you, so he's slow and methodical in his attempts to regain your affections and normalize your new life.
-.'🪬'.- His main goal is to condition you psychologically by slowly changing your interpretation of what's happening to you whilst also using your self-preservation instincts against you.
-.'🪬'.- You have more privileges and freedoms, and even Yamato himself will be nothing but cordial to you as long as you remain compliant.
-.'🪬'.- But, if you act particularly unruly, he’ll use the music box to control you, essentially trapping you in your own body and turning you into a glorified dress-up doll.
-.'🪬'.- It seems cruel, yes, but he's only doing it so you'll stop hurtling insults at him.
-.'🪬'.- He's been nothing but kind to you when you treat him with basic politeness, so why hurt both of you like this?
-.'🪬'.- Just stay agreeable. Things will be easier for both of of you.
-.'🪬'.- He hopes that, over a period of time, you'll grow to love him again. Just like you did before.
-.'🪬'.- As a precaution, he’ll test you every once in a while. These tests include keys and keycards in areas where you might come across them, just to see if you’ll take the bait and try to run.
-.'🪬'.- If you do fall for it, he’ll have people waiting for you at the exit, ready to snatch you up and take you right to him.
-.'🪬'.- As you stare at him with wide, glossy eyes while meaningless apologies spill from your lips, he's disappointed, to say the least.
-.'🪬'.- You'll start right back at square one, confined to your room again, having completely lost his trust.
-.'🪬'.- If you decide to bring the object back to him personally, he'll be over the moon with delight, taking it back with a warm smile.
-.'🪬'.- You came to him.
-.'🪬'.- You want to stay with him.
-.'🪬'.- You trust him.
-.'🪬'.- Eventually, he’ll give you just enough leeway to roam the building (with limited surveillance).
-.'🪬'.- Don’t even try to ask anyone for help. They’ll report it to Yamato so fast, it’ll give you whiplash.
-.'🪬'.- As long as he doesn’t hear anything suspicious from those watching over you, he might even let you take walks outside, with either him or one of most trusted associates, if you’re feeling restless when he’s unavailable.
-.'🪬'.- Now, if you're playing the long game and putting up a lovey-dovey front so you can gain just enough breathing room to make your getaway, you better hightail it once you step foot out of the Twilight Order's base.
-.'🪬'.- The moment Yamato receives the news that his sweet, adoring significant other left him in the dust, the second he realizes that every single smile, laugh, and whisper that ever graced his senses were products of treacherous deceit, he’s livid and frantic and having an ugly, visceral meltdown.
-.'🪬'.- How could you do this to him?
-.'🪬'.- He’s outraged at what you’ve done, but also hysterical at what could happen to you. Especially since you’re out of his sight.
-.'🪬'.- You could get horribly lost, cross paths with a Miramon, or you might misplace your trust and lose your life to an individual with nefarious intent.
-.'🪬'.- Fueled by some twisted, churning mixture of distress and fury, he’d send as many people as he could spare to hunt you down and bring you back, he himself joining the hunt.
-.'🪬'.- You would be lucky if you were caught and dragged back to base by one of his subordinates.
-.'🪬'.- If he finds you in the state that he’s currently in, he might just forget that you’re not as durable as he is, since you’re not an esper.
-.'🪬'.- All he’s really focused on is getting your hands off of your ears and your mind under the music box’s control so you can stop fighting him.
-.'🪬'.- He’s only trying to protect you. You'll understand eventually.

[IDOLiSH7] [Part 6] Chapter 9: Important Announcement
6.9.1. - The big meetup
Nanase Riku: I’m so excited for today's BackMagic Special…!
Izumi Iori: Because IDOLiSH7, TRIGGER, Re:vale-san and ŹOOḼ are all together, right.
Nanase Riku: Before we go to our greenroom, can we stop by TRIGGER’s room and greet them? I want to say hi to Tenn-nii!
Izumi Iori: Shouldn’t you be calling him “Tenn”?
Nanase Riku: Well, Tenn-nii is Tenn-nii!
Izumi Iori: Please don’t say that in public.
Nanase Riku: I know, I know!
--
Rokuya Nagi: I’ll introduce you two once more. This is Tsunashi Ryuunosuke.
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Hello. I’m Tsunashi Ryuunosuke.
Natsume Minami: He…, hello. I am Natsume Minami from ŹOOḼ.
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Your performances with Torao are always cool! You also write ŹOOḼ’s songs, right?
Natsume Minami: Uhh, yes…
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: That’s amazing. Are you close with Nagi-kun?
Natsume Minami: Saying we are close is….
Rokuya Nagi: OH…. Even though I’m the one who finally gave you the opportunity to support your oshi…
Natsume Minami: He is not my oshi!
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Hey, Nagi-kun, wait.
Rokuya Nagi: What happened?
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: I’m happy you came to say hello, but Natsume-kun has been avoiding eye contact this entire time. Did I do anything?
Rokuya Nagi: No, no! He’s just shy. He’s tsundere.
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Tsundere…
Rokuya Nagi: Natsume-shi was Haruki’s friend. Your performance in “Zero” deeply moved him, Tsunashi-shi. He sees Haruki in you so it’s like he’s in a trance.
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: So that’s how it is. I guess I can be happy about that then? Nagi-kun, how did you feel about it?
Rokuya Nagi: About what?
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: You watched “Zero”, right?
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: I got some impressions via RabbitChat, but I want to hear your opinion again. Since we also didn’t get to talk much during the barbecue.
Rokuya Nagi: Obviously, Haruki is more charming. But when you sang “Phenomenon” you were even more charming than Haruki.
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Really!? I’m so happy!!
Rokuya Nagi: OH! I have to help Natsume-shi with supporting his oshi. Alright, Natsume-shi. I’ll take a picture for you!
Natsume Minami: That’s not… I don’t need… a picture or anything…
Rokuya Nagi: Tsunashi-shi! Stand next to him!
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Is here fine? Let’s do this!
Natsume Minami: Ah, yes… Well then, Rokuya-san. You can do it with my phone.
Rokuya Nagi: OK! 3, 2, 1…
(click)
Rokuya Nagi: One more, let’s go~! 3, 2, 1…. OK! Please look at it.
Natsume Minami: Ah, there’s no problem with it. Thank you very much.
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Additional performances of “Zero” have been confirmed, so please come watch again.
--
(knock knock)
(door opening)
Nanase Riku: Good morning!
Izumi Iori: Good morning, Tsunashi-san. Rokuya-san and Natsume-san were here, too, huh.
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Riku-kun, Iori-kun! Good morning. Were you looking for Tenn?
Nanase Riku: I wanted to say hi to TRIGGER! Tsunashi-san, it’s been a while!
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: It has been! Riku-kun, haven’t you gotten a little tanned?
Nanase Riku: You, too, Tsunashi-san! I feel like you’ve also gotten more toned!
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: It’s because I’ve been training with Momo-san. Momo-san is more enthusiastic than ever!
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: He said he wants to create a legend of the invincible Re:vale!
Izumi Iori: Even though I’d rather have them be as relaxed as kings and lose focus a bit…
Natsume Minami: Indeed, Re:vale are quite strong.
Nanase Riku: Since it’s been a while I’m happy that I can see everyone today! What about Te— Kujou-san and Yaotome-san?
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Maybe they went over to greet Re:vale?
--
Yuki: Yamato-kun, I went to the advance screening of “Mikazuki Ookami”.
Nikaidou Yamato: Ah, thanks.
Yaotome Gaku: I went there, too. And ended up running into Yuki-san.
Nikaidou Yamato: Ah, really.
Yaotome Gaku: We went drinking after that, and he kept praising you.
Nikaidou Yamato: I see…
Izumi Mitsuki: Just be honest and show that you’re happy about it!
Yuki: I’m serious. It was to the point where I considered calling you, Yamato-kun.
Nikaidou Yamato: For real? I wish you’d called…
Yaotome Gaku: He thought it’d be bad if he called all of a sudden. Oh, right, I meant to send it to you afterwards, we recorded it.
Izumi Mitsuki: Recorded?
Yuki: Yes, yes. We thought we’d show you how passionate we felt after seeing the movie. Do you have the recording?
Yaotome Gaku: I do, I do. There it is.
Recording of Yaotome Gaku: Nikaidou is so good…!
Recording of Yuki: Yamato-kun is really amazing…!
Izumi Mitsuki: You were drunk.
Nikaidou Yamato: All I’m getting from this is that you were hyped up because you were drunk…
Yaotome Gaku: I’ll send it to your phone later. We recorded around three hours of it.
Nikaidou Yamato: That’s a lot of data…
Yuki: Shizuo-san’s voice is in there, too.
Nikaidou Yamato: He called!? Wait, did he actually come!?
Yuki: I mean, he has spare time right now.
Yaotome Gaku: He was super impressed when we met him.
Izumi Mitsuki: What a gorgeous drinking party…
Nikaidou Yamato: Right… But, well… Thanks. I’m relieved to hear your thoughts…
Izumi Mitsuki: Nice, right, Yamato-san? Yamato-san was super nervous about the movie’s release.
Yaotome Gaku: Why though?
Yuki: There’s no need for that.
Izumi Mitsuki: See? I told you!
Nikaidou Yamato: I suppose… Well, I did put in all the power I had. I did well…
Izumi Mitsuki: Right, right.
Nikaidou Yamato: …I did well!
Yaotome Gaku: That’s the right energy! Wanna hear the recording once more?
Recording of Yaotome Gaku: Nikaidou is so good…!
Recording of Yuki: Yamato-kun is really amazing…!
Recording of Chiba Shizuo: Yamato has come so far…!
Nikaidou Yamato: Don’t put it like that…!
Izumi Mitsuki: You should make this your alarm. It’ll boost your self-esteem.
(door opening)
Momo: Hey, Yuki~! Ah, welcome, everyone!
Inumaru Touma: Good morning. Comin’ in.
Izumi Mitsuki: Momo-san! You were with Inumaru?
Momo: Yup, yup! I just met him in the hallway earlier!
Momo: We talked about how much we practice! ŹOOḼ is training really hard!
Yuki: Heh, how admirable.
Inumaru Touma: Thanks.
Momo: I told you, this isn’t the time to call this “admirable”! Let’s take more lessons, too!
Yuki: Eh~ If I’m going to spend time with Momo, I want to eat yummy food and be lazy.
Nikaidou Yamato: You’re taking that many lessons? You seem busy, but still find the time for that, eh.
Inumaru Touma: I think we take as many as you guys? A bit less than what Re:vale said we do…? I think.
Momo: See, Yuki! We’re too arrogant!! Pride comes before a fall, you know!
Yuki: I get it, I get it. We’ll take time to train properly and do our best.
Momo: Yup! We’ll beat TRIGGER, IDOLiSH7 and ŹOOḼ without holding back!
Yuki: Right.
Izumi Mitsuki: Our senpai are scary…
Yaotome Gaku: TRIGGER won’t lose, either.
Nikaidou Yamato: We’re gonna get there this year, too. We’ll overcome you.
Izumi Mitsuki: Well said, leader!
Inumaru Touma: We won’t let you! As if we’re gonna lose against IDOLiSH7 twice.
Yuki: Right. I’ll make you cry, Yamato-kun.
Nikaidou Yamato: I won’t cry! I respect Re:vale-san and am thankful to you, but…
Nikaidou Yamato: We’ll prove that we can reach even you.

6.9.2. - Fun in the Greenroom*
Midou Torao: Well? Did you see it?
Ousaka Sougo: I did. It is really amazing that you managed to act out this action scene yourself.
Midou Torao: Ha… Well, yeah.
Ousaka Sougo: Thank you for letting me see it five times.
Midou Torao: Wanna see it once more?
Ousaka Sougo: Ah, of course…
--
Isumi Haruka: Hey, Yotsuba. Has anything happened with Acchan recently?
Yotsuba Tamaki: Uh, why?
Isumi Haruka: It’s ‘cause she’s been asking weird stuff on rabicha… If you dunno, it’s fine.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Weird stuff? What do you mean by “weird stuff”?
Isumi Haruka: No, it’s fine.
Yotsuba Tamaki: No, tell me. Did Aya tell you anything?
Isumi Haruka: … She said ”I wonder if I’m not cute enough”.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Huh… So what’d you answer, Isumin?
Isumi Haruka: What I answered?
Yotsuba Tamaki: Just so you know: I’m probably gonna get angry no matter if you told her she’s cute or not.
Isumi Haruka: You’re such an overprotective older brother! I just responded with “You’re pretty cute, though, right?” normally… That’s just a normal response, right!?
Yotsuba Tamaki: Huh…
Isumi Haruka: Something must’ve happened, right? Look, I don’t know, but maybe it’s time for her debut soon, or something.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Aya’s debut… Now that you mention it, someone also asked me for advice about Aya.
Isumi Haruka: Who?
Yotsuba Tamaki: Tenten. But that’s it, huh. Aya’s debut…
Yotsuba Tamaki: I think I get why Tenten tells Rikkun such strict things now…
Yotsuba Tamaki: Being an idol is fun, but also hard. And there’s things that will hurt you…
Yotsuba Tamaki: I wonder if Aya can manage it.
Isumi Haruka: Won’t she do better than you, Yotsuba? Acchan is pretty serious, you know.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Eeeeh—!?
(knock knock)
(door opens)
Kujou Tenn: Good morning. Ah, there he is.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Ah, Tenten! Were you looking for me maybe?
Kujou Tenn: Well, not just you, I was looking for MEZZO’’. Seems like the mood here is good. That’s relieving.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Thanks for worrying about me, Tenten.
Ousaka Sougo: Good morning, Kujou-san. Did you do anything that made him thank you?
Kujou Tenn: I didn’t. I listened to “Kizuna”. It was really good.
Ousaka Sougo: T…Thank you very much!
Kujou Tenn: Midou Torao. You did the last action scene yourself, right?
Midou Torao: Y-Yeah. Well, yeah.
Kujou Tenn: You have a lot of courage. It was impressive.
Midou Torao: …Thanks…
Kujou Tenn: Well, I’ll be going. I’m looking forward to working with you today.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Wait, Tenten! Thank you for the other day. What about the thing with Aya?
Kujou Tenn: We can’t talk about that here.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Is Aya debuting?
Kujou Tenn: Who said something like that?
Yotsuba Tamaki: Isumin did…
Isumi Haruka: I didn’t! I just asked if she was gonna debut! Isn’t it about time she does?
Yotsuba Tamaki: This job isn’t easy. You know that, right, Tenten?
Kujou Tenn: Well, that’s true.
Isumi Haruka: Since it’s Acchan, she’s gonna be fine. You two should believe in her. You’re her big brothers, right?
Yotsuba Tamaki: That’s two different things! Right, Tenten!?
Kujou Tenn: No, I… I’m trying to put a distance between myself and my younger brother and sister, as siblings, so…
Ousaka Sougo: Tamaki-kun, did anything happen to Aya-chan?
Yotsuba Tamaki: It seems like something happened, but he said we can’t talk about it here.
Kujou Tenn: I’ll go to you guys’ dorm soon.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Are you sure about it? Rikkun’s there, too… Didn’t you just say you wanna keep a distance from him?
Kujou Tenn: ….
Isumi Haruka: What’s the problem, just do it! Stop overthinking it so much.
Kujou Tenn: Ah, right…
Ousaka Sougo: Up until recently, Riku-kun was calling you “Tenn”, but now it’s Kujou-san being distant?
Ousaka Sougo: That’s twins for you. Your nature and behavior are so similar, it’s very amusing.
Kujou Tenn: ….
Yotsuba Tamaki: Sou-chan, that’s unexpected of you…
Ousaka Sougo: Eh…? Was it rude to call it amusing!? I’m very sorry…!
Kujou Tenn: No, it’s fine. Don’t worry about it.
(door opens)
Nanase Riku: I’m back… Ah, Tenn-nii…!
Kujou Tenn: Riku…
Izumi Iori: Good morning, Kujou-sa—…
Nanase Riku: Waah~! Tenn-nii you were here! I wanted to see you, so I was looking for you!
Nanase Riku: It’s been a while since we got to work together! I was excited to one day be on BackMagic together with you all this time!
Kujou Tenn: ….
Kujou Tenn: …Would it be normal to say “Me, too” right now? What do you think, Izumi Iori?
Izumi Iori: You’re asking me that while not even bothering with a greeting? I think it’s normal, though.
Kujou Tenn: I see.
Kujou Tenn: Me, too, Riku.
Nanase Riku: Yay~! Looking forward to today!
--
Anesagi Kaoru: Good work today, Takanashi-san.
Takanashi Tsumugi: Good work!
Okazaki Rinto: Finally, it’s getting announced today.
Utsugi Shirou: The “New Black or White project”... How do you think everyone will react?
Anesagi Kaoru: They’re competitive kids, of course! Their idol soul is definitely going to be burning and get them all fired up!
Okazaki Rinto: Thinking about finally being able to talk about it in the open makes me excited!
Utsugi Shirou: I won’t lose to you.
Takanashi Tsumugi: That’s my line! The winner of the first “New Black or White” is…
Takanashi Tsumugi: IDOLiSH7!
Anesagi Kaoru: TRIGGER!
Okazaki Rinto: Re:vale!
Utsugi Shirou: I’m very sorry, but it’ll be ŹOOḼ.
--
Yotsuba Tamaki: …Huh? Sounds like the managers are arguing…
Izumi Iori: They’re rivals, but I’d still like them to try keeping the exchange between agencies in this business friendly in the end.
Isumi Haruka: Embarrassing adults.

6.9.3. - Special Day
Mr. Shimooka: This week’s “Backyard MAGIC” will be brought to you as a special 3-hour live broadcast!
Izumi Mitsuki: We have some great guests lined up in the studio as well! Everyone, please enjoy “Backyard MAGIC”!
Audience: Kyaaaah…!
Momo: Let’s have a good time!
Kujou Tenn: Let’s get along well.
Nanase Riku: Let’s have some fun!
Isumi Haruka: Let’s do this today.
Mr. Shimooka: This special live broadcast will be a grand male idol special!
Mr. Shimooka: With new information about Re:vale’s new movie “Chill Out”!
Mr. Shimooka: Special advance information about TRIGGER’s new program “Treasure Café”!
Mr. Shimooka: Current videos of IDOLiSH7’s recently aired summer vacation project, “Beach paradise! Uproar during water athletics!”!
Mr. Shimooka: From the drama “BLAST” starring ŹOOḼ in the main roles, we’ll be introducing you to it and showing you some highlights!
Mr. Shimooka: And finally! There is big news that no one here knows about so far!
Audience: Kyaaah….
Izumi Mitsuki: News that we don’t even know about!?
Yuki: Is today the last episode?
Momo: Yuki! This is a program with high ratings!
Yaotome Gaku: Are we gonna suddenly be taken somewhere…?
Ousaka Sougo: Right, it was on a different show, but there was a gag like that before.
Nanase Riku: I wonder what it is!? “Big news”!
Yotsuba Tamaki: Maybe they’ll give us something! Like a watermelon or grapes!
Mr. Shimooka: Fufufu… Please look forward to it until the end!
Izumi Mitsuki: And now: based on the Tale of the Soga Brothers, the near-future SF “Chill Out”! Can you point out some highlights for us?
Izumi Mitsuki: First, Yuki-san!
Yuki: Momo’s role is a really strong person. There’s a scene where he pulls out a radio tower from the ground and that’s really cool, but also cute.
Audience: Kyaaaah…
Izumi Mitsuki: Pulling out a radio tower?! That’s kind of hard to imagine… Momo-san, which scenes do you recommend?
Momo: Maybe the big fight at the end? I think the people who know the Tale of the Soga Brothers will probably get what I mean.
Momo: From a spy-like scene, it becomes a flashy action scene with a big fight before turning into a serious tearjerker scene…
Izumi Mitsuki: There’s lots of highlights, aren’t there?
Momo: Well, Yuki’s acting is just that good!! It even made it into my dreams, I was turning in my sleep.
Audience: Kyaaaaah…
Yuki: Really?
Momo: Of course~! I woke up crying out “Brother!!”. Please watch that part carefully!
--
Passerby A: I’m super excited for “Chill Out”!
Passerby B: I’ll look into the Tale of the Soga Brothers! The theme song is great, too, so I’m really happy!
Passerby C: The costumes in the film are the coolest! I wonder if they’re gonna dance in those, too!
--
Mr. Shimooka: Here’s the early footage from TRIGGER’s new program, “Treasure Café”! Ah, is that Gaku-kun?
Yaotome Gaku: Yeah.
Mr. Shimooka: The waiter uniform suits you!
Yaotome Gaku: Haha, thanks.
Kujou Tenn: This kind of thing really suits Gaku, right.
Audience: Kyaaah…
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: It does suit him. Ever since we’ve been living together, the three of us have been cooking together a lot, too.
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: I was talking with Tenn about how, aside from his stage outfits, Gaku also looks good in an apron.
Audience: Kyaaah…
Yaotome Gaku: You said something like that, huh? That makes me happy.
Kujou Tenn: You’re happy?
Yaotome Gaku: Looking good in a suit or a kimono is one thing, but a guy who looks good in an apron is cool, too, right?
Mr. Shimooka: You’re really happy to be praised by your members, aren’t you?
Yaotome Gaku: Well, yeah.
Mr. Shimooka: Let’s look at the recorded footage then, let’s go! …Ah, you’re wiping down the counter quickly, that’s some fine skill~!
Mr. Shimooka: Have you worked in customer service before?
Yaotome Gaku: Yes. My relatives have a So— I worked in a restaurant before.
Mr. Shimooka: I see! That makes sense. Then you’re already comfortable with that kind of work.
Yaotome Gaku: Yes, thank you.
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Ah, a girl who came into the store started screaming.
Mr. Shimooka: Of course she’s screaming, she just entered a café and Yaotome Gaku was working there as a waiter!
Kujou Tenn: Gaku, what did you say when that happened?
Yaotome Gaku: “Welcome.”
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: That’s the right thing to say as a greeting!
--
Passerby D: Gaku-san is cool…! Cool yet cute…. I want him to be my boyfriend….
Passerby E: No, no, that’s impossible! We’re talking about TRIGGER here!
Passerby D: If it had been the Gaku-san from before, I’d also think it was impossible! But isn’t it kind of cute when he’s a little more careless and relaxed like this!?
Passerby F: I get that… I want him to be my boyfriend… Or at least, I want him to work at my workplace.
Passerby E: If TRIGGER were my colleagues, I’d also be super motivated at work!
Passerby F: Right~! I’d get promoted!!
--
Mr. Shimooka: I just went ahead and showed the footage from “Beach paradise! Uproar during water athletics!”. Everyone seems to be having so much fun!
Nanase Riku: We were having loads of fun! The sun wasn’t too strong, either, so Nagi was fine until the end.
Rokuya Nagi: It was the best! I’ve decided what my dream is, too!
Mr. Shimooka: Ohh, what is it?
Rokuya Nagi: Getting a house with a water athletics course in the yard!
Audience: Kyaaaah…
Izumi Mitsuki: If you say that, that means you might actually get it, aren’t you…?
Yotsuba Tamaki: Ah, this part! You gotta look at this! Me and Sou-chan had a real race!
Mr. Shimooka: It’s true! You’re surprisingly competitive! Ah, Tamaki-kun slipped when climbing the athletic course…!
Ousaka Sougo: I was able to pull ahead of him quite a lot there.
Izumi Iori: He looks so unconcerned while running. Ousaka-san doesn’t hold back during times like these, huh.
Mr. Shimooka: Wait, wait! In the back, the one relaxing on the bench and eating parfait, isn’t that Yamato-kun?
Yotsuba Tamaki: It’s true!
Ousaka Sougo: Yamato-san!?
Nikaidou Yamato: No, no. It’s not parfait, it’s cream soda.
Yotsuba Tamaki: Even though we were running around…!
Izumi Mitsuki: Well, it’s already good enough that the old man isn’t drinking beer.
Nikaidou Yamato: Exactly, exactly. Praise me, praise me.
Nanase Riku: Amazing! The world’s most yummy-looking cream soda!
Izumi Iori: That’s what you’re praising?
Nikaidou Yamato: …and its drinker Yamato-san.
Nanase Riku: Its drinker Yamato-san!
Nikaidou Yamato: Thank you! You get it, Riku~!
Izumi Iori: Isn’t that manipulation too obvious?
--
Passerby G: IDOLiSH7 is cute….! Just looking at them makes me energized!
Passerby H: This variety show was really fun, so I am glad to see the backstage parts of it! BackMagic gets it…!
Passerby G: Sougo-san was wearing a rashguard this time, too, huh?
Passerby H: Sougo-san looks good like that! Everyone’s swimsuits have been great~!
--
Izumi Mitsuki: “BLAST” ended at a crazy point! I wanna watch the movie already!
Inumaru Touma: Thank you very much.
Izumi Mitsuki: I always thought the guy Natsume plays, Nagato Kyouya, was suspicious! But I still didn’t expect that!
Natsume Minami: I’m happy you enjoyed it.
Izumi Mitsuki: The movie will deal with Shuu trying to get Shou back after he was kidnapped by the lab agent Nagato, right?
Izumi Mitsuki: He even joins forces with Hyoudou, who he always had a cat and dog type relationship with in the drama.
Inumaru Touma: Yeah, kind of like that! I know this isn’t a full review session, but how about we take a look at the next highlights?
Izumi Mitsuki: Sure. I really like Sakaki Shuu.
Inumaru Touma: For real!? I’m glad!
Izumi Mitsuki: You’re really cool in the role of the lone wolf, Inumaru! Even though in reality, you’re such a sincere person. Speaking of which, Yamato-san says he liked Hyoudou.
Midou Torao: Oh, really. Thanks a lot.
Izumi Mitsuki: Isumi has been made into a test subject at the lab. Isn’t that kinda super bad!?
Isumi Haruka: It is, right. Even though he had just opened his heart to Shuu, Shou got betrayed by Kyouya. I feel sorry for him.
Izumi Mitsuki: I want you to be saved~! Please. Don’t lose against Natsume!
Inumaru Touma: Even in private, I can’t really go up against Mina…
Audience: Kyaaah…
Natsume Minami: Fufufu.
--
Passerby I: ŹOOḼ is so cool…! I’ve been into them ever since “BLAST”, so I’m happy to see Touma-kun’s smile!
Passerby J: All of them did great with their roles! Torao-kun even did an action scene by himself!
Passerby I: I wanna see the movie already~! I wanna see more of Minami-kun’s evil face!
Passerby J: I’m really curious about what happens to Haruka-kun’s role, too…! Ah, I’m excited…!
--
Mr. Shimooka: The time to say goodbye is getting closer, but everyone, you remember it, right!?
Audience: Kyaaaah…!
Momo: Big news! Big news!
Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Does Mitsuki-kun know?
Izumi Mitsuki: I haven’t heard anything either!
Yotsuba Tamaki: What kind of surprise is it!?
Mr. Shimooka: Time for an important announcement!!
~ to be continued ~

6.9.4. - New Black or White
Mr. Shimooka: Time for an important announcement!!
Mr. Shimooka: “Black or White Music Fantasia”, the yearly national music program, will be facing a big renewal!
Nanase Riku: Black or White will…
Kujou Tenn: Get a big renewal…?
Mr. Shimooka: Right now, the embargo on the information has been lifted, and at the same time, there are announcements on various TV programs, online streams and on social media!
Mr. Shimooka: It’s called “Black or White Live Showdown”!
Mr. Shimooka: Black or White has a long history with the music world in Japan!
Mr. Shimooka: To keep up with the current era, and to create an all-connecting experience, Black or White will experience a big renewal this time!!
Mr. Shimooka: Breaking out of the confines of being a pure singing competition, “Black or White Live Showdown” will not only be about singing, but also dancing, costumes as well as adapting to the venue…
Mr. Shimooka: Several points have been added to the judging criteria in order to make it a mini live showdown!
Audience: Kyaaaaah…!
Momo: Mini live showdown!?
Inumaru Touma: Does that mean we can sing more than one song!?
Mr. Shimooka: The contestants will compete with a setlist of four songs!
Mr. Shimooka: The structure of the live, costumes, dancing and singing ability. Live performance, fanservice, the artistic quality of the set as well as stage directions!
Mr. Shimooka: Live goods and even uniforms, all of these are ways to strengthen the completeness and feeling of unity in the venue and will be part of the judging criteria!
Mr. Shimooka: How do you make the audience experience entertainment? Can you create the best live?
Mr. Shimooka: During the special time of welcoming the new year, how can the artists and the audience become one? Can you create a festival that can only be found there?
Mr. Shimooka: A Black or White that has left the living room! That’s what “Black or White Live Showdown” is!
Audience: Kyaaaah…!
--
Passerby K: Wait, wait! What does that mean!?
Passerby L: I’m not sure, but I think it means we’ll definitely get to hear a lot of songs!?
Passerby M: Ah, look, look! Even this female idol group’s show announced the same thing!
Passerby K: They’re gonna do Black or White in different locations across the country!? They’ll connect those via live broadcast, right?
Passerby L: I wonder which venue IDOLiSH7 will perform in!?
--
Mr. Shimooka: The final showdown of the male idol groups will be in Zero Arena…!!
Mr. Shimooka: Talking about the male idol group finale, the last overall winner was Re:vale! And the winner of the male idol category was IDOLiSH7!
Mr. Shimooka: Those two groups’ entry is already confirmed!
Izumi Iori: Our entry was confirmed…
Yuki: I see.
--
Okazaki Rinto: Looking forward to it, Takanashi-san!
Takanashi Tsumugi: I’m looking forward to it, too!
--
Mr. Shimooka: The remaining two entries will be determined through “JIMA” and “MOP” and so on, so it will depend on how successful you are in the music scene!
Mr. Shimooka: Will TRIGGER and ŹOOḼ, who are here right now, stand on the stage for “Black or White Live Showdown”?
Mr. Shimooka: Nobody knows what the future will bring!
--
Anesagi Kaoru: All of Japan is talking about “Zero”. If TRIGGER’s name doesn’t show up, I’ll never trust this industry again.
Utsugi Shirou: We’ll do our best, but ŹOOḼ landed a hit with “BLAST”, so there’s no way they would be excluded from the contest.
Okazaki Rinto: I think you’re right, but you should probably still be careful.
Anesagi Kaoru: I know!
Utsugi Shirou: I know.
Takanashi Tsumugi: I hope we’ll be able to compete together with everyone!
--
Mr. Shimooka: Everyone who is watching the program right now! Yes, you who is listening to my voice right now!
Mr. Shimooka: If you’re watching BackMagic, you must be a pretty big idol fan!
Mr. Shimooka: Please leave your New Year’s Eve plans open!
Audience: Kyaaah…!!
Mr. Shimooka: If you can, please get a ticket and go to the live venue!
Audience: Kyaaah…!!
Mr. Shimooka: It will be the greatest live, made up of four songs carefully picked by the artists to express their style!
Mr. Shimooka: We promise you the best experience! This is a live versus live contest!
Audience: Kyaaah…!!
Mr. Shimooka: At the end of the year, let’s get fired up and enjoy the time together!
Audience: Kyaaaaah…!!
(clapping)

Nanase Riku: A new Black or White… Such an amazing project has started! He said it’s a live showdown!
Yotsuba Tamaki: I’m super excited! Which four songs are we performing!?
Izumi Mitsuki: There’s gotta be a new song in it, of course!
Rokuya Nagi: OH! Sougo, how about taking on the challenge of composing IDOLiSH7’s new song?
Ousaka Sougo: Me…?
Nikaidou Yamato: Yeah! If your schedule isn’t too packed, why not consider it?
Nikaidou Yamato: If we, as IDOLiSH7, are going into this contest, we want to sing one of Sou’s songs, too.
Ousaka Sougo: Yamato-san…
Izumi Iori: I agree. What do you think, Ousaka-san?
Ousaka Sougo: I… I’d like to take the challenge. I don’t know if I’ll do well, though…
Ousaka Sougo: I did think I wanted to have everyone sing my songs one day, not just MEZZO’’, but…
Nanase Riku: Please let us sing it! An IDOLiSH7 song made by you, Sougo-san!
Izumi Mitsuki: That’s great! Let’s win against Re:vale with a 100% pure IDOLiSH7 song!
Ousaka Sougo: …Against Re:vale-san…
Nikaidou Yamato: I think TRIGGER and ŹOOḼ will enter, too, though.
Izumi Iori: Especially if TRIGGER enters the Black or White, too. They said Re:vale is within their reach.
Rokuya Nagi: ŹOOḼ is a very strong opponent, too. Their teamwork has steadily been getting better and they gained a lot of momentum.
Yotsuba Tamaki: It’ll be fine! Do your best, Sou-chan! I’ll do the choreography again, too!
Nanase Riku: I’m really looking forward to it…! I can’t believe we’re gonna compete with a live we all made with our own hands…!
Nanase Riku: We also have a manager who’s great at stage directions! Standing at the top is no longer a dream, is it!?
Takanashi Tsumugi: Yes, let’s work together to deliver it to the audience!
Takanashi Tsumugi: IDOLiSH7’s greatest live!
IDOLiSH7: Yeah!!
--
Woman: Ehehe… I couldn’t wait to go home to read the magazine, so I went to a café.
Woman: The “Auberge La Plage” special! That’s what I bought it for! The last episode was so good~.
Woman: The highlight of “Auberge La Plage” is how all the funny staff members turn out to be secret celebrities one by one…
Woman: Right, right. But because of that, a rival hotel tries to gain them for their business.
Woman: That’s when Tachibana Yuzuru, played by Riku-kun, together with Narumi Sei, the character played by Iori-kun, work together to figure something out. It was fun…
Woman: Aah, I’m sad it’s over… I wanna see more of IDOLiSH7. Their swimming contest was so cute, too!
Woman: I ended up remembering IDOLiSH7’s members’ full names, blood types and birthdays so quickly…
Woman: I’m not actually a fan yet, though. I didn’t join the fan club and I’ve never been to a live…
Woman: A live, huh…
Woman: I can listen to the songs on my smartphone and the dance performances are viewable on TV, so there’s not really a reason to go to a live~.
Woman: Places with lots of people are hard to deal with, and I’d feel sad if I was left behind because I couldn’t really get in the mood…
Woman: It would be a waste if I tried too hard and did something unnecessary and stopped having fun, even though I’m having fun right now.
Woman: I’ll stay like this, enjoying it casually.
Woman: …Ah, “IDOLiSH7” is trending on rabbitter.
Woman: What…? “New Black or White”? The music program at the end of every year, that Black or White?
Woman: The male idols will compete in a mini live showdown…
Woman: Eeh, what’s that? That sounds really interesting…!
Woman: Let’s look for more information on rabbitter…
Woman: “There was an announcement in BackMagic”, “I wanna go for sure!”, “Support your oshi in person and make them win!”...
Woman: Support… That makes sense, it is a live showdown after all. I can support them…
Woman: I want IDOLiSH7 to win… I want to see IDOLiSH7 before my eyes and support them…
Woman: ….
Woman: How do I get a ticket? I wonder if I can get one without joining the fanclub?
Woman: No, that’s impossible, right? It’s definitely gonna be super expensive like that, right… Eeh~, now I really wanna go…
Woman: Eh~, can I buy it? Ah, just thinking about going makes my heart pound…
Woman: If I could go, it’d be amazing for sure…. It would be amazing for me.
Woman: Because, y’know… I love just watching them, but having something so far away…
Woman: …To be close for just a moment, it’ll be as it becomes real… Something like that makes my heart pound so much, I might die.
Woman: …..
Woman: ….I’ll just apply, I’ll just try applying. If it doesn’t work, it’s fine.
Woman: Ah, I’m lying! I really wanna get it!
~ to be continued ~

TL note courtesy of Haruka-kun!
* a note on the title of this section: the original is 楽(しい部)屋 which is a pun on the fact that both the word fun (楽しい) and greenroom (楽屋) share a kanji. i’m not smart or patient enough to think about a good pun equivalent in english, so you get the title and this note

I normally don’t uh… go here. But as an OP fan I can only speak on the One Piece part because frankly it’s 2024 and this “argument” is annoying. No it’s not a mistranslation, it never was. Not in the manga and not in the anime, so it’s not like we’re taking a headcanon and running with it. We’re taking what’s been said in canon and running with it. And while I maybe could get your point about the art style, Yamato also isn’t a fetish character. Yes the OP art style has its issues we are painfully aware of this. But OP also has some of the best shounen writing, there’s a reason it’s stayed so popular.
Yamato quite literally introduces himself as “Kaido’s son.” Multiple times. The strawhats also accept that he is a man. Hell even Kaido and his subordinates accept Yamato for who he is, and Kaido is literally the worst. Most evil of evil characters.
The only difference is Sanji during the bathhouse scene but Sanji’s just a little freak and from what I remember he didn’t actually interact with Yamato during the battle of Onigashima. He only met him after and was too busy arguing with Zoro to hear Yamato say this in the panel below
Which is why during the bathhouse scene of Yamato being in the men’s bath, Sanji has his weird little freak out because he didn’t hear what Yamato said in the previous panel
Wano actually gave us two trans characters with the other one being Kiku, but she wasn’t mentioned and this post is only about Yamato. One Piece in general has quite a few canon LGTBQ+ characters in it, Melonteee on YouTube has a great video covering the subject that includes Yamato and representation.
On the subject of representation though, I don’t think it needs to be said that One Piece doesn’t take place in the most modern of worlds. They literally have snails for phones and video screens. Yamato also grew up in a country that was closed off for 20 years so yes it is safe to assume he would not and still doesn’t have access to top surgery. Also you saying he needs it does feel a bit like erasure of trans people who can’t afford or get gender affirming surgery. This is not a personal attack on the original writer of the essay by any means, just an observation. If it came across that way I am so sorry it’s 2am and I’m horribly tired.
One final thing. I don’t actually think you have taken the time to read, watch or just look at some content for OP if you think the story isn’t sophisticated enough. Which is fair it is really long and still ongoing, I literally have only been into One Piece for a little over a year. But the whole series is about freedom and found family, and it does have LGTBQ moments and characters throughout it that people have said are a good representation.
I've been waiting to respond since you made that post mocking us for wanting problematic characters banned from your polls because apparently you are not taking legitimate criticism of anime seriously. Because it is full of poor representation of minorities and lgbtq+ and you and all of your followers are laughing about it like it's nothing.
I will start with Yamato because everyone acts like one piece even though it's so full of misogyny. Having a trans character is amazing when I don't even think Yamato is actually trans. I'm pretty sure it's a translation error and everyone has latched on to it. So again that is not good representation if it's not confirmed representation and even if it was confirmed, it's not good representation. Yamato because of the one piece art style by default Yamato is full-blown a fetishization of trans people because all one piece characters if they are drawn, female presenting are drawn like sex dolls. So unless they go through an actual gender transition and not just a pronoun change. There cannot be good representation with Yamato because Yamato is a fetish, not a fully fleshed out character. I mean to boil it all down. I don't think the author is capable of having any good lgbtq+ representation one piece is just not a sophisticated enough story and the characters are just too shallow for that to be possible
Bleach did a similar thing with Yoruichi acting like it was so amazing to have a character of color and she is supposedly bisexual but she's just waifu bait and it reeks of misogyny and fetishization of BIPOC. She's a furry to top it all off. It doesn't help that the bunny chick from my hero is basically the new gen version of the same character, but at least she is disabled too. So at least they tried to do something with her character other than waifu bait
So I would like to know why every character I've seen promoted as great representation in anime for either the BIPOC or LGBTQ+ communities seem to only be horribly fetishized, useless, waifu bait. Not actually a good character.
And even when Japan is dealing with its own ethnic minorities and indigenous populations it still does a horrible job by playing into the Noble Savage stereotype Hollywood likes to play into. Have you not seen the anime Golden Kamuy? It's about Japan's own first Nations tribe and it's So disrespectful to that. I swear they could not have had a single person from Hokkaido, much less a member of the actual Ainu people involved in the creation of that anime or manga. And yet I've seen so many people brag about that anime and manga and how it's so good for diversity. When again, every single Ainu character acts like a bad native American stereotype from like a 1950s American Hollywood western. It's that bad and don't get me started on the fan service in that show. It's at a level that could be considered exploitative but it's okay. Some of the characters might be gay so it's representation. To top it all off it reinforces white colonial beauty standards because the main Ainu character is specially because she's half white and has blue eyes like her white dad and she talks about how she's going to be a new kind of better Ainu for the future because she's white passing. That show is a reductive racist dumpster fire and I can't believe anyone says otherwise.
But you said you won't ban characters unless the fandom becomes too toxic. But you really should consider looking out for the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities by not promoting toxic problematic characters and actually banning these toxic problematic characters and shows
Fandoms vs Illiteracy #1
Feel free to critique the essay but not the person nor the person's intelligence. Do not call names, degrade the person, or personally attack them in any way. The purpose of this series is to critique/analyze the arguments contained in the essays.
For those unfamiliar with the characters mentioned, here are pictures. The names are in the alt text.
And here's one of the promotional images for season 2 of Golden Kamuy
So now that everyone is a little bit more familiar with everything mentioned in the essay and knows the rules, feel free to do your own research and respond.

BETWEEN YOUR THIGHS ― IWAIZUMI, KUROO, BOKUTO, AND SUGAWARA.
✗ REQUEST: i’ve been seeing all over tiktok the whole lay between your s/o thighs trend (idk if you know the trend) but i wanted to see it with the hq boys. so could i request iwa, kuroo, bo and suga🥺.
― iwaizumi hajime, kuroo tetsurou, bokuto koutarou, sugawara koushi.
⤷ genre: fluff
⤷ warnings: suggestive content (everything i write at this point is suggestive lmao), i got lazy proof reading this but i’ll come back to it
⤷ word count: 3.1k
― a/n: i was very soft writing this hehe, also;
me to me: let’s limit this to 500 words per character
also me: almost writes 1k just on kuroo.
IWAIZUMI HAJIME
after two long weeks apart, with iwa having to travel overseas for work, he had finally come back home to you. work trips weren’t uncommon, but often left you alone, missing him more and more with each day apart.
it took everything in your power to hold yourself back from jumping on him, the moment you caught sight of his bulky figure walking out of the airport terminal.
and now the two of you were on your way home. after bickering over who would drive, iwa now sat leaned back in the driver’s seat, large hand engulfing yours on your lap and the other gripping the leather steering wheel; skillfully maneuvering your car down the snowy streets. fiddling with his long fingers entwined between your own, you bring his hand up to your mouth, pressing a kiss to the back of his hand.
glancing at you from the corner of his olive eyes, you could see his soft smile under the flickering glow of the streetlights. he gives your hand a gentle squeeze, before his focus turns back to the road.
ten minutes pass relatively quickly, with iwa shifting the gear into park outside your shared home. he trails close behind you, warm breath tickling the side of your neck and duffle bag slung over his wide shoulder, as you unlock the front door.
“welcome home.” you whisper, tilting your face up to look at him.
iwa’s quick to drop his bag, spinning you around by your hips to pull you flush against him. wrapping your arms around his neck, you giggle at the feeling of his hands dipping lower to give your ass a loving squeeze.
“i missed you, baby.” he breathes out, before leaning down to capture your lips.
the kiss is sweet and slow, you indulge yourself in the familiar feeling of his soft lips; before his tongue darts out to trace against the pout of your bottom lip, asking for permission. you moan into him as your tongues brush against each other sensually, dragging your hand from his nape to caress his jaw; you jolt away as your palm brushes against the icy cold touch of his ear.
“haji! your ears are freezing!” you hiss, both hands now tugging at his ears.
chuckling lowly, he grabs at your wrists lightly. “ah, i know...why don’t you warm them up for me?”
“huh?”
overwhelming thoughts of how exactly iwa intended for you to warm his ears up, clouded your flustered mind. in a flurry of movements, he lead you into your bedroom; freeing you from the tight denim of your high-waisted pants, and having you perched up and leaning against your fluffed up pillows. the fuzziness in your head starts to clear up at the sight of iwa stripping off his long sleeved shirt, exposing the toned muscle of his stomach and chest.
crawling towards you and parting your legs, he presses a kiss to the inner side of your knee, before he flips over and slides his read right between your legs. you blink once, then twice, watching as he grabs your thighs, wrapping them around his neck and squishing his face.
“well, this...isn’t exactly what i was expecting.” rubbing your thighs against his ears to get used to the freezing touch.
iwa hums contentedly, patting the side of your leg. “mmm, don’t worry baby, we’ll save that for a bit later okay?” heat rushes to your face as he calls you out on your thoughts. “i just wanna lay here and feel you like this for now.” you push your hands against your face, feeling how warm your cheeks are, before iwa grabs at your wrists softly, bringing them over to kiss your palms. “just lie with me, okay baby?”
with your hands caressing the sides of his face, you nod, smiling softly. “okay, haji.”
KUROO TETSUROU
working together with kuroo for japan’s volleyball association was amazing. for the most part that is. it’s how the two of you met, he’d charmed you into a first date by his second week, and it was almost three years since then.
you spent every day with your boyfriend at work, and every night together in bed. but sharing a busy week schedule filled with back-to-back meetings, interviews with athletes for potential promotional videos, and late nights in the office filing the never-ending build up of paperwork - meant weekends were very much looked forward to.
lazy sundays being your favourite.
the day usually started well into noon, both of you enjoying the extra undisturbed hours of sleep - since the blare of kuroo’s six a.m. alarm wasn’t ringing in your ears. he’d greet you with a drowsy rasp - “good morning, shorty.” - making you giggle before dragging him to share a steaming hot shower with you; . and with a towel wrapped around your head, bare legs on show underneath the hem of your boyfriend’s large shirt, you’d sway in front of the stovetop flipping pancakes while a shirtless kuroo sliced up your favourite fruits - music from his playlist playing softly in the background.
if the weather allowed it, you and kuroo would sit out on the balcony of your apartment; basking in the warmth of the sun, admiring the way his hazel eyes reflected gold. yet this sunday, a storm was raging outside.
“why is she giving a rose to that prick yamato? fuji deserves it way more than him!” kuroo calls out.
you were only half invested in the bachelorette marathon playing. rain spat against the fogged glass; heavy lidded eyes followed the trails made by the racing raindrops. you were tucked snugly into kuroo’s side, a long arm wrapped around your shoulders, and legs tangled under the softness of the new periwinkle comforter you’d bought the other day. kuroo’s laptop rested on his lap, and you jostled about as he shot an arm out to point at the screen accusingly.
“are you seeing this, y/n?! now she’s choosing sachihiro! over fuji?!”
humming half-heartedly in response, you squeeze yourself closer to kuroo; dragging your hand over his bare chest, and resting it over his heart. you could feel his heartbeat against your palm, thump-thump thump-thump, and the steady rise and fall of his chest began to lull you to sleep.
the sound of your soft snores, pulled kuroo’s attention away from the show.
“shorty, you sleepin’?”
at your lack of reply, he chuckles lowly, shifting around to put away his laptop. you were always the first to fall back asleep, especially after eating good and coming back to bed to cuddle. pulling you closer to him, he smiled at the sigh you released against him; before pressing a sweet kiss to your forehead and resting his cheek on his pillow. the smell of your strawberry shampoo wafting around him, was the last thing kuroo remembered before he joined you in the dream world.
laying on your side with half your vision obscured by the fluffy pillow under your head, you blink away the sleep as you gaze outside the window. the rain had come to a slow drizzle, with the skies still fairly bright meaning only an hour or so had passed while you were asleep.
“tetsu?” you call out.
usually the rooster head would be pressed right up against you, but you couldn’t feel or see him. attempting to twist your body around, you find your movements constricted. it was only when you tried once again to lift your leg up, that a hand slid around your knee to halt your movements.
pushing yourself up a bit, and resting on your elbow, you glance down to find your boyfriend’s head between your thighs, back of his head pushed against your pelvis. because the two of your are on your sides, the full weight of your left leg over his shoulder has his cheeks smushed together; but kuroo seems completely unbothered, in fact he’s just scrolling through instagram on his phone. when you reach a hand down to tug at his inky hair, only then does he glance up at you.
“are you alright down there?” you ask. “can you even breathe?”
“i woke up here, and i don’t plan on moving any time soon.” kuroo hums, the vibration from his throat are ticklish against your inner thighs. “i’m living my best life, wanna see my new lock screen?”
without waiting for an answer, he shows off his new lock screen - which really happened to be a live photo displaying a collection of pictures with kuroo’s face squeezed between your lush thighs. you can’t help but laugh, kuroo’s cackling joining you. slightly embarrassed at the thought of someone catching a glance at his lock screen, you pull at his hair; complaining about the possibility of being exposed.
kuroo slaps your hands away from his hair, still chuckling. “i don’t care, shorty. i look good between your thighs, don’t you think so?”
flustered, you yank on his hair again. “shut up, rooster head.”
BOKUTO KOUTAROU
while waiting for bokuto to come back home to you from his training with the msby jackals, the last thing you expected was to receive a call from his teammates. it was your day off, and as you were loading the last of you and bokuto’s laundry, your phone began to vibrate - the bright grin of a certain tangerine-haired cutie flashing across the screen.
“hello?”
“hi, bokuto-san- ah, um, i mean y/n-san!”
you chuckle lightly at hinata’s correction. ever since you announced your engagement with bokuto, the younger male had started addressing you by your fiancé’s surname. in the background you can hear atsumu yelling out to you, followed by sakusa complaining about his loud mouth. you were more than familiar with bokuto’s close friends and teammates, from the countless team dinners and nights of drinks hosted at you and bokuto’s townhouse, you shared a solid friendship with everyone.
“ah, shou-kun, everything okay?”
“um, well i just called to let you know that bokuto-san didn’t have the best time at training today.”
‘oh no, poor kou,’ you thought to yourself, heart tugging at the thought of bokuto being sad. his somber moods were a rarity these days; it had actually been almost a year since he’d been in a slump, and he usually loved his trainings, so that meant today must have been extra tough on him.
“i see, thank you for telling me shou-kun.” after listening to hinata’s retelling of the events at training, with side commentary from atsumu and sakusa; you all exchanged goodbyes before ending the call.
with the chance to avoid being unequipped for bokuto’s gloomy return home, you were grateful for hinata’s thought to warn you. it gave you an hour, from his shower to the drive back home, to prepare some of his favourite things. normally it involved inviting akaashi over, but with him out of town, it left you to your own devices. though after being with bokuto for so long, it wouldn’t be that hard.
you knew your man like the back of your hand.
he was probably starving after practice, and what better than to cook some barbecued meat for him - his favourite, with the special sauce you always made just for him. after making some side dishes and rice, you set the table for the two of you, leaving the meat to stay warm in the oven while you went for a quick shower. bokuto made it know how much he enjoys the smell of your cherry bomb body wash, yet today you opted to lather on his orange body wash. knowing the smell of him on you made him crazy, you dried yourself off and decided to wear his old shirt from high school; the baby blue of ‘the way of the ace’ shirt, with the faded black characters.
you had just finished throwing your softest blankets and fluffiest pillows onto the couch in the living room, when you caught the sound jingling keys at the front door. leaping over the back of the sofa, you ran just in time for the door to open.
“kou!” you exclaimed, leaping as soon as you see his bulky figure enter through the doorway. his gym bag landed on the wooden floors with a thud, as he caught you easily in his arms. “welcome home! i missed you so much, baby!”
bokuto’s hold on you is tight. “hi, y/n…” there’s none of the usual chirp in his voice, and you squeeze him closer to you, peppering kisses on his face.
“are you hungry? i made your favourite.”
offering him a small smile at his slight nod, you slid out of his grasp, taking his hand to lead him to the dining table. when he saw the table set, barbecued meats on display, he tugged you to a halt; staring at you with round, golden puppy eyes filled with appreciation. you sat on his lap as he ate, with your arm hooked around his neck; allowing him to feed you, as he listened to you talk about your day. and when the two of you were done, bokuto offered to finish off the dishes while you lounged on the sofa waiting for him, netflix loading on the wide screen television.
distracted by the trailer of some netflix original film, your caught by surprise when bokuto slides face first between your thighs. with his cheek pressed against your pelvis, he shifts your legs over his broad shoulders, thighs almost obscuring his face from your vision if it weren’t for the frosted tips of his hair sticking out. running your fingers through the slightly damp, silken strands; you felt you relax in your embrace, releasing a contented sigh.
“kou?” he hums in response, arms sliding around your thighs as he nuzzles his face into your smooth skin. “i know today wasn’t the best, but there’s always a tomorrow. just remember that i love you so much, and i’m here...okay baby?”
lifting his head slightly, thighs resting by his jaw, he sets his chin just below your navel. staring up at you, he takes your hands in his, slippings his fingers between yours.
“i love you, y/n.” he whispers, slightly mumbled. “thank you for everything.”
giving his hands a loving squeeze, you start explaining the new movie you want to watch. and with his interest piqued, the two of you spend the rest of the afternoon in the comfort of each other; bokuto tracings patterns on your leg, and your hands tangled in his hair.
SUGAWARA KOUSHI
it had been almost a month since you and suga’s return from your honeymoon. after spending an amazing three weeks on a tropical island with your newly wedded husband; strolling along sandy beaches, scuba diving in clear blue waters, and spending warm nights making love under the stars - it was safe to say you were missing the time away relaxing.
so when daichi called your husband during the week to make plans for the long weekend, you were more than happy for a mini getaway to tokyo with your old high school friends.
and that’s how you found yourself, guava oil spread across your skin, stretched out by the poolside, and sipping your umeshu tonic through a pink swirly straw. the boys had decided to take a dip and cool off in the pool, while you and kiyoko had taken to some sunbathing. it was a little after midday, scorching sun at its peak; and the golden rays captured the sparkle of the princess cut diamond of your engagement ring resting between two matching, diamond encrusted bands.
“you’re going to blind everyone with all those diamonds, y/n.” blinking away the daze you’d caught yourself in, you chuckle at kiyoko’s teasing.
“speak for yourself, soon-to-be-mrs-tanaka.” you shot back, nodding at the glimmering engagement ring on her own finger.
the two of you giggled like little school girls, cheeks flushed and eyes closed in mirth; only stopping when a sudden wall appeared, blocking the warm sunshine, and shadowing over you. the wall being none other tanaka, suga following behind.
“kiyo~!” tanaka coos, leaning over his fiancé. “you look hot- uh, i mean it’s pretty hot, y’know.”
kiyoko simply raises an arched brow, listening to tanaka’s rambling; which quickly turned into the latter throwing the her over his shoulder, and running back towards the pool. she hadn’t even protested at his manhandling, taking to sending you a look that said ‘what can i do?’. with the two of them gone, your full attention was set on the sight of suga.
now standing next to you, his hazel-brown eyes glanced over your laid out figure in appreciation; entranced with the way your bikini top dug into the soft flesh of your breasts, drawing attention to the deep valley of your cleavage. your own keen eyes took in the sight of his slender build; admiring the way his soaked canary trunks hung low on his hips, polyester sticking to his thighs and leaving little to your imagination. with his chest exposed, glistening under the sun as droplets of water slid down his toned stomach - it suddenly felt as if the air had become ten degrees warmer.
“hey there, this seat taken?” suga asks, tilting his head and running a hand to push back the damp, grey strands out of his face.
“oh, this seat?” you ask, gesturing to the lounge chair you were occupying.
your brow’s furrow slightly in confusion, though you gasp when he trails ticklish fingers over your thigh, before squeezing the soft flesh. “no, this one.”
chuckling, you hold your left hand up, wiggling your jewelled ring finger in front of you. “sorry sir, i’m a taken woman.”
suga just grins at you cheekily, leaning forward to press his soft lips against your own. this kiss is brief, but the lingering taste of his mango chapstick and chlorine has you a bit dazed; allowing him to part your legs and slide himself right between them. laying on his stomach, your legs rest by his sides, his fingers teasing the hem of your bikini bottoms.
“ah yes, that you are, sweetheart. and i’m the lucky man who gets to call you mine.” with his cheek is smushed against your thigh, his words come out slurred; but the dreamy look in his eyes as he stares up at you is clear.
“and i’m lucky to have you, koushi.” you whisper in return, the weight of him over you is comforting and you find yourself leaning back into the lounger; as suga nestles himself closer into you.
“mmm, i love this...laying right here between your thighs, sweetheart.”

One final fic for @kakashiswilloffire who is getting a little spoiled today but that’s ok because they deserve it 💜💜💜
Animals were facinating creatures. Everything they did needed to be documented and watched over and over again, just because it was so out if the norm.
Kakashi particularly liked Video’s of dog’s doing dumb things like struggling to walk in booties, or failing to catch a treat in their mouth. Today, however, he was enjoying a whole different kind of show.
Today, he was watching as Gai’s Tortoise Ningame struggled to maneuver himself back out of the stair bannister that he had gotten himself stuck in.
“How did he get out of Gai’s room?” Yamato asked as he stood behind Kakashi with a bowl of cereal in his hands and a perplexed look on his face. “I thought Gai left the door closed?”
“I think last nights sleep buddy left it open on their way out,” Kakashi shrugged his shoulders. “They probably won’t be coming back around after this.”
“So… are you going to message him?”
Kakashi snorted. “Of course I am. I can’t wait to see his reaction.”
Retrieving his phone from his back pocket, he opened up the camera function and snapped a quick picture.
A picture which he immediately sent off to Gai with the caption ‘Yamato after one drink’, which immediately earned him a smack to the shoulder from the man standing behind him.
“So, do we…”
“In a second.” As soon as the words left his mouth his phone dinged, alerting him to a new message. When he looked down at his screen he was amused to see a paragraph of capital letters.
Gai was screaming at him through text.
Gai was panicking, and it was delightful.
“Alright,” he chuckled as another message came through demanding he rescue Ningame from his fate while Gai dealt with the person who had failed to close the bedroom door behind them. “Come on. Let’s go outside.”
Freeing Ningame from his self made prison proved to be a little more difficult that expected, and Kakashi earned himself three barks from Pakkun in the process. Each bark a warning that he would harm ningame if he continued with how he was extracting him, forcing him to rethink his approach.
Finally, with one final wiggle from the tortoise and a gentle tug, he slipped free of his bannister prison.
“There,” Kakashi turned the tortoise around in his arms, grunting when one big leg came down against his chest. “Hey, I just saved you. Be nice!”
“Saving him is one thing,” Yamato commented behind him. “Your morning breath though. That’s unforgivable.”
Kakashi turned his head to glare at Yamato. “One of these days I’m going to get a new roommate.”
“One of these days,” Yamato agreed as he turned his back to him and made his way towards the stairs. “But for today you’re stuck with me and the angry tortoise.”

Daisuke and Miyako
Daisuke and Miyako have a very interesting relationship, given that it’s never given anything you could call front-and-center in 02, and yet is actually one of the more prominent dynamics among the 02 cast in practice. How? Well, let’s talk about it.
It’s rather common for 02 fans to endearingly call the kids “idiots” (and especially after Kizuna, where they’re not only idiots but also idiots with the terrifying power of being recognized by society as adults). They are an incredibly chaotic group, and while all six of them are guilty in some way or another, Daisuke and Miyako are probably the ringleaders of that chaos, since the other four tend to facilitate it by being enablers.
Both Daisuke and Miyako have a similar surface temperament -- they’re messy, all over the place, and not exactly the epitome of dignified, but they’re also just slightly off from each other that it does lead to some degree of friction. Daisuke, despite ostensibly seeming abrasive on the surface, is actually quite deferential and will often “deflate” when people criticize him, or at least, even if he does lash out, it’ll be more in a defensive sense that comes from him thinking he’s being made fun of or attacked. Miyako, on the other hand, is absolutely someone who will go on the aggressive, make her opinions clear and continue to aggressively put her foot down at anything she hates, is more fond of physical contact (both in an aggressive fighting manner and in an affectionate hugging manner), and will easily get much more impatient and demanding about what she wants. You can see them both in action when they bicker over a dumpling in 02 episode 37; Miyako’s the first one to jump on Daisuke for taking “her” dumpling, Daisuke lashes back at her defensively, and then Miyako starts physically manhandling him. They’re both brash, so of course it naturally leads to some friction, because they don’t really give off the appearance of being happy-happy-joy-joy with each other.
But just because they’re prone to bickering doesn’t mean they dislike each other! In fact, 02 was quite big on the concept of friends being able to do more aggressive things with each other because they trust each other so much, most infamously Yamato punching Taichi in episode 10 with full awareness that Taichi wouldn’t take it badly.
Daisuke and Miyako, in particular, come off as the type to be specifically comfortable with their exact level of bickering-and-yet-closeness. As I’ve pointed out a few times, they never used any honorifics for each other, even though Daisuke normally treats his elders with respect and Miyako uses the proper -kun for most younger boys. Miyako will even go as far as sometimes calling Daisuke with second-person anta (Japanese generally discourages second-person when it’s avoidable, and especially clipped/slang versions like this, so Miyako is effectively handling Daisuke roughly). But whenever circumstances cause one of them to start acting weirdly polite or endearing to the other, it’s made clear that the other finds it really weird.
So in other words, it seems like once the two met and started hanging out together as part of their group of Chosen Children, they unconsciously identified each other as fellow disaster children (or, at least, not worth keeping a sense of polite distance with). And really, they don’t actually “bicker” all that much as much as it’s more like bantering -- Daisuke’s an easy target for teasing but can easily deal with Miyako being so in-your-face, and conversely Miyako can take a lot of Daisuke’s lashing out without taking it too personally.
This is especially interesting when you take into account the fact that they don’t actually even pretend to dislike each other! Certainly, the way they’re prone to bantering and not necessarily even that self-aware means they probably wouldn’t be able to easily say upfront that they’re close with each other, but they also don’t really put on the air of disliking each other at all, and are perfectly happy to work together like they’re partners in crime at times. Miyako is very straightforward about recruiting Daisuke into her little scheme to force Iori and Ken to get along in episode 30, and they’re happy to cheerfully play with each other and act generally in-sync like in episode 38.
(The incident in episode 30 is also of interest because it’s also subtly reminiscent of their overall dynamic -- Miyako’s the one who actively hatches the plan that ultimately ends up in disaster, with Daisuke simply agreeing and playing along.)
In fact, I would even dare to venture saying that prior to Ken’s bonding with the group, Miyako was probably Daisuke’s closest friend (even if it’s unlikely he’d have admitted it). With Daisuke putting Hikari on a pedestal due to his crush on her, having difficulty with Takeru not really being straightforward and constantly on the defensive around him, and Iori requiring polite and distant handling in general, Miyako was the right combination of someone he could bounce off of without necessarily offending her deeply (especially because she’s a rather affectionate person and isn’t the type to really hold grudges). Daisuke, being a painfully transparent and straightforward person, plays best with other people who are clear and transparent, so even if Miyako may be a bit difficult to deal with, the fact she’s very honest and straightforward made her someone Daisuke could be comfortable around. Within the series, they never quite got to the more thoughtful and intimate level that Daisuke and Ken or Miyako and Hikari got, but they developed a very comfortable rapport around each other.
Miyako, for her part, cares a lot about Daisuke’s welfare, and is in fact quite willing to be open about it whenever she’s not bantering with him -- a good example is episode 24, when she notices Daisuke is feeling down from V-mon being unable to evolve and himself being left out of Takeru and Hikari going off together, and goes forward, affectionately grabs him, and gives him a job to do in babysitting the Punimon. At first this looks like simply a way to distract him so that Takeru and Hikari can have some space, but we’re later treated to some shots of Miyako looking at him fondly, making it clear that she was very much invested in making sure he was happy with something to do -- and she even muses that she felt he’d be perfect for the job. (And she gets bonus points for correctly catching on that Daisuke is happiest when he has some kind of purpose.)
And there are some times where Daisuke has some, well, interesting reactions when it comes to Miyako -- in regards to expressing preferences with boys, given that he has a sudden taken-aback reaction to Miyako declaring openly that she likes cute boys like Michael in episode 14 (something that really shouldn’t be surprising to everyone...), or suddenly getting invested in making a case for himself when Miyako calls Ken’s laugh cute in episode 38. Of course, the easiest explanation to beeline to is reading this as ship bait or hinting that Daisuke has a crush on Miyako, but regardless of whether you want to read it as shippy or not, I think it’s boring to just end the analysis at merely that and call it a day -- so, either way, Daisuke really does care about Miyako’s opinion of him and her approval, not entirely unlike the way he does with most elders. And given that, in Hurricane Touchdown, he lashes out at Wallace for attempting to flirt with her (to the point of it metaphorically breaking his goggles), he can get surprisingly protective of her, too!
Bring it around a whole eight years later in Kizuna, and the first time you see both of them on screen together, Daisuke of course picks up the banter with her -- cheerfully, of course.
This is later followed up by another amusing interaction in which Miyako, rather impatient with Daisuke being wishy-washy and beating around the bush talking with Yamato about what they found out about Menoa, physically grabs the phone from him (again: much more prone to intervening physically) and gets more directly to the point than he did -- leaving Daisuke to not really argue back, but pout at her irritably.
But of course, they’re still willing to be perfectly in sync at times -- during the drama CD, which takes place right before the movie, Daisuke has no qualms jumping in once she and Hikari go on a dramatic spiel about Spain misadventures.
So in other words -- they’re the same as ever.

Never Too Late For A Leap Of Faith
Part 1
(Part 2)
Five times Taichi only feels the presence of Digimons and one time he actually meets them (again).
Words: 2126 Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Tags: 5+1 Pairings: Taichi Yagami/OC, Sorato, Jyoumi
Inspired by this youtube video talking about how the end of Kizuna fits into the narrative of the Epilogue in 02, posted by TheDigiKnow. It’s in my opinion a thorough and yet personal analysis.
When there was a baby’s cry from the labour room, Taichi broke down in tears. He’d been pacing to and fro in the hall leading to it, but only after his wife Kana had dislodged some knuckles in his hand by holding it too tight during a contraction and he had to be treated for it. Afterwards he hadn’t been allowed in again because, and that was something he didn’t like to admit, he had been on the brink of fainting before Kana’s force had jerked him back to consciousness.
A nurse stuck her head out the door and smiled. “Congratulations, Yagami-shi, you have a son!”
Taichi wiped away his tears, smile a little lopsided, and entered the labour room. His wife Kana, whom he had met at a diplomatic meeting three years ago, looked pale and drained, but smiled broadly. She mopped her sweaty brow with a neckerchief, pushed her long black hair that looked a tad greasy after her exertions behind her ear and leaned forward to receive a kiss from Taichi. Then she pulled away the duvet that had been drawn over her to reveal their newborn son. He had chestnut brown hair just like Taichi but his mother’s bulbous nose and when he opened his eyes they were a startling clear blue.
“Most children have blue eyes when they’re born”, the nurse explained. “They’ll darken over the course of the first year.”
Taichi hadn’t said a word yet, he was too transfixed on this small bundle of life that he helped to produce and that he was now responsible for. That realization suddenly felt heavy on his shoulders but when he looked into Kana’s soft yet endearing black eyes, the very eyes he’d been mesmerized by from the very beginning, he felt the weight ease.
“Do you want to hold the little egg?”, Kana asked and lifted the bundle towards Taichi who’d been instinctively forming a cradle with his arms. Something at the back of his mind stirred to life, something about a green yard full of cribs with colourful eggs, the way it never had before when the word “egg” was mentioned, but Taichi didn’t give it any notice. Tears were running down his face again as he watched the miracle before him. With a scratchy voice he whispered “Hello Hotaro, welcome to the world.”
The first days were reserved just for them so the three could get to know each other. After the tiredness of being born had worn off, Hotaro was a very awake child. In every sense. He had trouble sleeping through, which caused Taichi, suddenly becoming self-conscious about his appearance, to use Kana’s concealer. She had taken a year off from work while Taichi went back to the office after three days. His colleagues welcomed him with a round of applause, a light blue greeting card, and a big stuffed and, for some reason, snow white teddy bear. As he looked the bear up and down, suddenly a cold breeze swept over him and gave him goosebumps. He immediately knew how he would name the bear.
“I am Frigimon”, he muttered under his breath.
***
Hotaro loved Frigimon. He had accepted the name without hesitation, affectionately calling him Friggi, and never going to sleep without him. Once Frigimon had entered the Yagami household, something had shifted within Taichi. Usually he was highly alert in his meetings but now he started dreaming away. Dreamt of a tram that didn’t need rails, of an island ruled by an evil bat-like looking creature, and vending machines in the middle of nowhere.
He also started dreaming away at the kitchen table when having dinner with his family. At some point he was so far gone that it needed a gentle slap on the shoulder by his wife. When he looked at her questioningly, she said “Muchomon”.
He tilted his head. “What do you mean?”
“Muchomon was my Digimon partner. He vanished when I was 24 and had just finished my degree.”
“You were a DigiDestined?” Taichi’s eyes went wide as saucers.
She nodded. “It’s been a while but since you brought Frigimon here the memories have boiled up again. You should talk to your friends again, and more than just at their birthdays and about irrelevances. I thought you’d been so close? To be a DigiDestined, and having fought numerous battles, welds together – for life.”
Taichi took a deep breath. He kneaded his hands. He hadn’t wanted all this to happen – to let the contact cool down or even freeze. It had just happened. Because. Because of life, he guessed. At some point work and his little family had become more important than his long-term friends. He didn’t even know how many children Sora and Yamato now had!
He banged his fist on the table.
“Dad!” Hotaro exclaimed frightened. He had never seen his father so agitated. Immediately, Taichi regretted his outburst. He had never wanted to scare his son, become violent around him. And now he had. Because of his own shortcoming. “I’m sorry, Hota”, he quickly said, tearing at his hair. He got up, walked around the table, and lifted his son in the air.
“It’s okay”, the four-year-old said, gently touching his father’s face. “Can you let me down, please?”
Taichi complied, a bit confused.
Hotaro took his hand and led him to his room. “Sit down, Dad. I’ve found something while playing in the attic a few days ago.” He handed him a box which Taichi instantly recognized, and his heart ached. He didn’t need to lift the dusty lid, sprinkled with little fingerprints from his son, to know what was inside. But he did it anyway. Coming to light was a round pair of goggles and a smouldered Digivice. He only noticed he was crying when the first tears hit the Digivice, just like they had done many years ago when Agumon had to say goodbye.
For good.
Or so he had thought. But Digimons were reborn. He had witnessed that many times. Maybe it just hadn’t been the right time until now.
He lifted his head to look straight into his son’s open, curious, beautiful face. When also Kana had been a DigiDestined, then maybe their child should also supposed to be one. Or no, no he shouldn’t. He should choose if he wanted to become one.
They had been thrust into this world without having been asked first. They had had to come to terms all on their when they’d been mere children and the forces who had chosen them had never offered much aid. He wanted this to go differently.
He noticed that Hotaro held up Taichi’s phone. Koushirou’s name was on the display, it was already dialling. “Call him”, Hotaro said. Taichi shook his head. That kid was much smarter than was good for him.
***
“Oh!! It’s soo good to see you all again!”, Mimi exclaimed, as excited as ever.
Taichi had to dial down the volume of his computer as the audio overmodulated. But he smiled, genuinely, because he felt just the same. Before him, the screen was split into five segments, all filled with bright smiling faces.
“Jou, come over, they’re here now!”, Mimi called, her face turned away from the camera. In the background there suddenly was the sound of glass crashing on a tiled floor, followed by a stream of swear words. “Jou, I told you not to swear in front of the kids!” She turned back to the screen. “I’ll be back in a minute.” With that, her segment got empty.
Her friends chuckled. “I see you were cleverer”, Taichi pointed out to Sora and Yamato, who were sitting together in front of the camera and holding their two children on their laps. Their son had inherited Sora’s maroon hair while their daughter was as flaxen-haired as Yamato. They were both visibly bored, wriggling about on their parents’ laps trying to grab office supplies that were clearly not toys in their vicinity.
“I’m not so sure about that”, Yamato remarked, dryly as ever, as he pulled a stapler away from his son’s hands.
“Dad, have you seen my hockey stick?”, someone called in the background of Koushirou’s screen segment.
He sighed. “I thought you put it in the cabinet beside the shoe rack. You know, where it’s supposed to go.”
“I did but it’s not there. And Yui and her mom will be here any minute to pick me up for training.” The voice grew whinier and more urgent.
Koushirou bowed apologetically to his friends. “I just have to help my daughter.”
Meanwhile, Mimi had reappeared, Jou and their two sons in tow. “Hiroshi, Sasuke, say hello to Mom and Dad’s friends.” Mimi nudged them a little forward.
The older one, taking remarkably after Jou with his blueish-black hair and the glasses, hesitated but the younger one, sporting a daring chin-long bob with a middle parting, grinned and brightly said “Hi, I’m Sasuke.”
The DigiDestined greeted him back with a laugh. “Say Sasuke”, Taichi started, “does your mom and you go to the same hairdresser?”
Sasuke looked at him in surprise. “Yeah, but how do you know?”
More friendly laughter.
“My brother’s good at guessing, is all”, Hikari remarked, absentmindedly fastening her hair-clip. She wore her hair the longest it had ever been but subconsciously she itched for a cut. But her daughter always said that she looked so nice with the long hair even though Rika couldn’t stand long hair herself. Hikari had even caught her once as she had cut her middle brown hair with kids’ scissors.
“Oh, I see”, Sasuke said, tilting his head. “But you don’t look like siblings at all.”
“Sasuke!” Jou turned red in second-hand embarrassment. “Sorry, my son can be a bit blunt sometimes.”
“I wonder whom he has that from”, Takeru mused, hand held on his chin as if he was pondering a very difficult question.
“I heard you are a writer”, Hiroshi suddenly said, nervously adjusting his glasses.
Takeru’s expression turned smug. “And a pretty successful one at that.”
“Yeah, but Dad thinks you’re exaggerating at times.”
Jou turned even redder. “That’s… that’s not what I’ve been saying!”, he sputtered. “You just sometimes spend a little too much time on one detail.”
“That’s not what you said, Dad!” Hiroshi turned to his father, affronted. “I’m not a liar!”
“Of course not, my dear”, Mimi said soothingly. Then she leaned in closer and whispered “Sometimes adults don’t like the truth very much.” Louder did she say “Why don’t you two go and get your guinea pigs to show our friends, mmh?”
“Oh yeah!” They bounded off out of the frame.
“And where’s your kid?”, Yamato asked his brother.
Takeru shrugged. “At band practice. Don’t know where he got the musical talent from but he certainly has some. And no, Yama, he hasn’t gotten it from you. Because he’s better.”
Yamato dramatically inhaled. “You didn’t say that!”
“I’ve got a round of witnesses who can confirm that I just did.”
“Sorry Takeru, my connection was a bit wobbly for a few seconds. You said something?” Taichi asked suspiciously innocent.
Takeru shook his head. “And you call yourself my friend.”
Before anyone could reply to that, Koushirou plonked himself down on his chair breathlessly. “I’m back!”
“Did you find the hockey stick?”, Sora asked, glad about the diversion. She had already feared that the mood could be slipping.
Koushirou nodded solemnly. “Yes, just in time. And it was actually me who had misplaced it because I had cleaned out the cabinet and didn’t put it back.”
“Tststs, Kou. I hope your daughter doesn’t have to put with too much.”
Koushirou shook his head. “Of course not. Being a single parent isn’t easy but we have a cleaning lady who comes in two days a week and I can bring Koyuki to my parents if need be.”
Yamato muttered something under his breath which earned him a jab in the ribs by Sora. “In this house we don’t judge”, she breathed into his ear, only audible for him.
He reluctantly nodded.
“These are Tom and Jerry”, Hiroshi and Sasuke announced, diverting the tension once again.
Taichi chuckled. “They don’t look like a mouse and a cat to me.”
“We weren’t allowed to have a cat and a mouse”, Sasuke replied.
“You wanted a mouse?” Sora could hardly hide her laughter.
“Unbelievable, right?” Jou seemed to shiver just at the thought of having a tiny and cunning rodent in the apartment. And a slightly dumb but very persistent cat chasing it.
Takeru laughed, too. “Most certainly.” Then he leaned forward. “But have we just come together to get to know your pets or is there a more pressing matter?”

I need you. Both. - A Taiorato Friendship one shot
Characters: Yamato Ishida/Matt Ishida, Taichi Yagami/Tai Kamiya, Sora Takenouchi Genre: Friendship, comfort Rating: K+ Words: 1500+
Summary: Losing a special someone will never be easy. Fortunately, we all have friends with shoulders to lean and cry on. Even when you don’t say a word, they just know they are needed.
More below, under read more! Enjoy.
A/N (feel free to not read it): For some unknown reason I found myself suddenly rewatching Digimon Kizuna (the english dub unfortunately, because I can’t find a properly version of the original with english sub - anyone who knows where to find it?) and I started wondering: what would Taichi and Yamato have done directly after losing Agumon and Gabumon? What would they say to each other? And how did they find out about Sora, who went through the same happenings on her own probably without letting anyone know... Well, here is my take on that!
Update on 27th of August 2021: So originally I wrote Sora and Yamato broken up (see fanfiction.net for the original one-shot), but after coming to terms with canon and Sorato during the past couple of months and this Kizuna meta I recently wrote, it didn’t feel right anymore. So I fixed it, Sora and Yamato are dating, but on a break (as I can totally see that happening with their personalities).
Just to be clear, one last time: this is a Taiorato friendship! Which means all these dynamics are from a platonic point of view, even the Sorato parts. Also fixed some typos :)
xxxxx
A cool breeze. Quiet after the storm. And the stabbing feeling of a loss.
He tried to fight his tears, burying his true feelings. In his one hand was the Digivice, petrified. He looked down on it, trembling, realizing what just had happened. With his other hand he brushed over the Digivice, then held his other hand preventing it from trembling too much. He needed to be strong. For himself, for the others. For Gabumon.
Gabumon.
Where would he be now? Yamato wondered. That thought freed the flow of tears he was failing to hide behind his eyelids. He wanted to scream. Shout. But what was the use? It wouldn’t bring his partner back. So he just stood there. Crying.
Mourning. The thoughts kept trying to fill the pit he felt in his stomach. As the crying died down because of those deep thoughts, he simply stared, following the flickering lights with his eyes. It being the only movement in front of him.
Movement. Life.
What was life? He knew for example life was not limited to earth only. There was a whole digital realm existing in between this world where he came from and the network where Gabumon had his roots. Was there even more? How far could he go? Space? Maybe space was where he should aim for. As far away as possible from here, from where he stood now. From the spot where his partner vanished.
“Yamato.”
He stood straight at attention upon hearing his name. It sounded vague and far away, though he knew it was close by. He turned around, letting his blue eyes meeting the brown ones now in front of him. He watched his companion scan the surroundings. His friend looked sad to him.
“No Gabumon?”
Yamato swallowed and shook his head, biting his lip to once again fight his feelings. The trembling made his Digivice almost fall out of his hand. He squeezed it tight and with that holding onto everything he knew. Not ready to fully let go yet.
Usually Yamato was the one far more calm and collected. Though this time, for once, it seemed like the guy who tracked him down was better at keeping his cool.
Taichi.
It was just Taichi, no yellow dinosaur following him. Yamato figured out Taichi must’ve gone through the same fate as him. Yamato wanted to be there for him, but he felt his feet stuck in his place. His legs were heavy, as was his heart. Any movement, except from trembling, seemed impossible. So he stood there, questionably looking for answers which he knew his friend neither had.
xxxxx
Yamato.
He just stood there, looking at him as if he had all the answers he wanted to hear. But he had to disappoint. He had one answer: both Agumon and Gabumon had vanished. With that their Digivices had turn into cold stone. Taichi figured out Yamato already knew that.
It had been one hour since it happened and he had been mourning since. But what Taichi knew too was that moping around wasn’t going to make things better. Besides, it wasn’t what Agumon would have wanted him to do, moping around.
Agumon.
Instead he had taken out his phone, the ring of light on the back vanished just like Agumon had. He was glad to see the phone still worked, though it looked like it was a little faded. Maybe he was seeing things. He had quickly updated the others in their group chat by sending them a picture of his petrified Digivice, then closed the chat. He did not want pity from his friends, from his sister, from the others. They did not understand.
In all probability, there was one other person who would come close to understand him. So Taichi tracked Yamato down through his GPS. As he found out his whereabouts, he silenced his phone and made his way to him. Without haste, because he knew Yamato wasn’t going far or fast for that matter, not even with that motorcycle of his. After all, he was mourning too, just like Taichi.
His feelings had been right as there was no sign of Gabumon. The only visible sign was the stone in Yamato’s hand. The same stone Taichi was carrying with him, in both his pocket and heart. Yamato looked completely lost in his feelings, emptiness overwhelming him.
Yamato turned his back again to him. Taichi’s hands balled into fists, at once feeling the urge to fight him just like the old days. Breathing in deep, that feelings quickly faded, replacing it with a sudden feeling of concern. He glanced to the blond, slowly walking towards him.
“I know how you feel,” Taichi said now standing beside Yamato, staring into the same direction. “It’ll be fine eventually. I promise.”
A careful smile appeared on Yamato’s face, making Taichi smile a little as well. It was a careful smile, but it was genuine, the feeling of concern growing bigger. Taichi placed a hand on the blonde’s shoulder closest to him before gently pulling Yamato to him.
An embrace.
Back in the days the physical contact between the two of them were mostly fights with fists, but right now, Taichi knew it wasn’t the kind of touch he needed. What they both needed. Comfort, Yamato needed his friend, a shoulder to lean on.
“I know,” Yamato mumbled as he untangled himself out of Tachi’s grip after a little while. “It still stings though.”
Taichi nodded, completely understanding him, all the while grabbing the phone out of his pocket and switching it on to check the messages out of habit. He quickly scrolled through the messages in the group chat, but decided not to answer and leave them be for now. He looked through his private messages.
One message from his worrying mother. A missed call from a bragging classmate. Another message from…
Taichi gasped. After a brief moment he placed his hand back on Yamato’s shoulder, making him turn to face Taichi. He held the screen to Yamato.
“We need to go. There’s someone who needs us.”
xxxxx
She had been standing near the window for what felt like days, the rain falling for hours and hours. And hours more. The tears on her face joined the crying sky, but there were no tears left. She sighed, swallowing the lump in her throat.
She turned around, briefly looking at her desk filled with both clothing and flower designs. It was loaded with things she loved, but it was empty to her all the same. Then her eyes trailed further down the room to an empty pillow in the corner, one that belonged to someone very dear to her. To someone who sadly wasn’t here anymore.
Piyomon.
The name lingered in her thoughts, making Sora want to cry, but nothing came. She felt empty, like the pillow, lonely and hollow. At the same time she was thankful. Thankful for the time she could have spent with her partner.
Would she still be here if Sora had chosen to keep fighting? Would it have made a difference? Sora wondered, feeling a sting in her heart. It had to happen eventually, so why not now... Because she knew she had to grow up, especially after that message they received from Koushiro about the glowing ring, counting down the time of her partnership. Little did she know that Taichi went through the same thing at the same time.
Somehow it was hard to imagine him growing up. Into a man. To her, he had always been her childhood friend, the one making her feel strong, young and aware. She remembered the echoing sound of the whistle earlier today, immediately connecting the sound to him. By then she knew, even after they grew apart and had barely talked to each other during the past couple of weeks or even months, he was arriving at the same place where she already was at that time.
Partnerless.
“Honey, there’s someone for you.” Sora heard her mother from the other side of the bedroom door, snapping her out of her thoughts. She walked towards the door, sliding it open and stepping into the hallway. Her head turned ninety degrees and her eyes grew wider.
Taichi.
There he was, with his back leaning against the frame of the door, her brown haired friend, as if he knew she was thinking about him. His arms folded across the chest, his head diagonally directed to the ground. Further outside she saw the silhouette of a certain blond boy she knew all too well.
Yamato.
After Taichi had sent a picture of his petrified Digivice in their group chat, she had sent him a reply through a private message. For Sora it was important that he knew and felt he wasn’t alone. But seeing Yamato standing there, leaning against the rail of the gallery, his blue eyes ice cold, she knew that Taichi already knew he wasn’t the only one.
As wasn’t she.
A few steps. Taichi looked up as Sora walked past him. Without looking she brushed over his arm and hand for reassurance, but her focus was on Yamato. It had been a little while since she saw him last. They maintained a steady relationship in the past, but with their busy lives and studies they decided to take a little break to take things slow. Very slow, distancing from each other to focus on their own paths first.
Of course she missed him, and she still cared for him. A lot. And he needed her, she could feel. She knew he did. Standing fully in front of him, she placed her hand on one of his shoulders, finally making him look her straight in the eyes. She smiled her most genuine but soft smile, then carefully hugged him around the neck, placing a small peck on his cheek. She felt his heartbeat slightly increase, so she held on to him until his heart calmed down again.
As she let go and stepped back, Yamato flashed her a painful smile. Sora had to swallow seeing him like that, shifting her gaze to the ground. The touch of a hand on her shoulder brought her attention back up. She had thought she had no tears left, but that one touch did the trick.
Sora swiftly turned around, throwing her arms around the waiste of the owner of the hand on her shoulder. She felt Taichi pulling her even closer as she heavily cried, wetting his shirt. But she knew he didn’t care, because in that moment all he cared for was her. And Yamato.
Stupid.
And they just stood there, the two of them. Until suddenly she felt a warmth behind her, another body becoming part of their embrace. And she knew that whenever she was sad or lonely or in need of a hug, they were there within a heartbeat.
“I need you,” she mumbled into Taichi’s shirt.
“Both.”

Oh good, they did more nerd stereotyping with, "oh Kou doesn't take care of himself and doesn't shower lol antisocial nerds am I right?" why, Tri...
I know this is gonna sound super negative and I might go into rant mode again, but I just... Tri!Koushirou simply doesn't feel right to me. Well, okay, a lot of Tri doesn't, but... I just think it should be worth criticizing if the original was SO good at developping these kids and Tri just went and said: "Wow, look at this nerd. I guess he was pretty close to the main character, but we don't want that anymore. He was also good for advice and comic relief, so let's make that his main role. In the background. What did you say, his arc used to be about accepting himself the way he is, learning to connect with others while functioning as a helpful mentor and adviser to the rest of the group, boys and girls alike, who all appreciated his help and made him become more confident and he could also jump into action if necessary? That is too much for one character to represent, better just put him behind his laptop mainly, make him rant to no end sometimes, doesn't even matter if the others don't listen, make him socially awkward especially towards girls, make him not pick up on social cues and emotional needs of others for the majority of the time, make him care about his apprarance in the most ridiculous way to impress others, lol, remember that scene in OWG, let's make him completely and utterly obsessed with Oolong, that's funny, make him self conscious about not knowing enough, but don't have him interact too much with the others, at least not on screen and in the forefront, please, he's an introvert nerd after all, we can't have him progress too far, even if several characters (Sora on the phone, Mimi, Jyou, Takeru in person, who also clean his messy office for him) try to reach out to him. And even if all efforts DO cause him to take care of himself eventually (eat, sleep, shower), he still has to/chooses to deal with his arc on his own, let's just give him a silent, saddening montage before the others miraculously decide to follow his plan. Oooooh and we should make him creepily crush on Mimi on a complete superficial level, let's not make that about human connection at all, about how they work as a team and would learn to get along nicely with their obvious differences, no, just, make him go apeshit when he sees her exposed legs."
That's how I see his portrayal and I don't like it, it feels so grim and lacks appreciation for him for the most part. Of course he does have nice moments where he feels like the Koushirou I adore so much... Tentomon interactions mainly, especially when he DOES get soft and hopeful towards him; the rare Koura+Taishirou bits; him telling Taichi and Yamato to stop fighting will forever be my favourite, because it feels SO natural for HIM to do that; how he shows Agumon and Gomamon photos of the past; and I DO like that he loses himself in wanting to find a solution and that eventually turns into feelings of self hatred, because it is realistic for him. Even if I'd say that he's already been there before and on his way to get better according to his 02 self, and it's nice that Tentomon was the one that pulled him out of it and drove him to see another option to take action... It just bothers me that they don't let him have the significant HUMAN interactions he once hoped he would have one day. Nobody pats him on the shoulder, nobody really reassures or, if at all, reaches through to him and that's been such a missed opportunity. The scene in which Taichi tells him "Don't push yourself too much" for example could have led to an ACTUAL conversation about insecurities, suppressed anger and just... Emotions.
To me, it always kinda seemed like Kou was a favourite among the creators of 01, 02 etc. and that's why he got so much spotlight in comparison to other characters (like Jyou), especially in combination with Taichi, but also in general. And in Tri... It simply didn't feel like that. The promo material looked SO promising, but he was so easily shafted aside there too eventually? Literally got the Jyou treatment of being put more in the background (plus, whoever thought about giving him the :/ face most of the time on promo art didn't get him either).
Okay, enough ranting for today.

Digimon Adventure: Taichi and Yamato’s Last Adventure.
A Last Evolution Kizuna Review.
----------
Let’s continue my way of reviewing with dubbing the movie’s title in a way that completely summarizes what we saw. Like Avengers: Iron Grid for Endgame or Avengers: Thanos the Movie for Infinity War or even Ms. Marvel: Grand Theft Vers.
This time its
デジモンアドベンチャー LAST EVOLUTION 絆 - Dejimon Adobenchā LAST EVOLUTION Kizuna ] Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution – Kizuna (Last Evolution – Bonds ).
I dub this movie as
[デジモンアドベンチャー : 太一 とヤマト の 最後のアドベンチャー - Dejimon adobenchā: Taichi to Yamato no saigo no adobenchā ] – Digimon Adventure: Taichi and Yamato’s Last Adventure.
TL:DR – I love this movie for its pros but I have a lot of issues with this movie. I give this a 7.5/10 rating.
----------
I guess, art style is as good as any to start the review for this animated movie. Frankly speaking, I did not like Digimon Adventure Tri’s art style. To me the art style looked like trying too hard for it to look modern with its weird angle shots and weird incorporation of rigid and angled lines.
The bolded outlines on every characters, especially during the digivolution sequences looked really jarring. It’s not deal breaking mind you, it just seemed like there was more focus on how to “modernize” the art style from the one used during Adventure 01’s first run.
Last Evolution Kizuna’s art style on the other hand was a neat blend between the 01-02 and Tri art styles with a dash of modernity and realism.
No oversized feet, head, and/or hands here folks.
Animation-wise. From what I have watched, I haven’t noticed any animation errors, like the derp face when characters are shown far from the supposed camera.
And there’s no jiggle physics.
So there’s that.
Plotwise…
Let’s see.
The movie is chuck-full of references from the first Digimon Movie, whether you saw the dubbed or original Japanese version. The very first scene we’re introduced to the Chosens was a Parrotmon appearing in the city and wreaking havoc in the immediate area.
That doesn’t mean that the ensuing battle didn’t cause destruction.
Angemon – Takeru – Angewomon – Hikari – Taichi and Agumon – Greymon – Garurumon – Yamato.
This was the order of how we were introduced to the Chosen Children and their Digimons.
This first scenes in the movie teases the viewers of what to expect in the whole movie
But…
---------
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS
under the cut.
----------
That never came to fruition.
The promotion of the movie teased the viewers of everyone’s involvement in the movie. The 02 kids being combined in one trailer, while the others having their separate trailers, implied that the 02 kids had minor roles or outright non-entities in the movie.
Here’s the worst part.
Sora doesn’t want to battle. She did literally nothing (wasn’t even put into a coma)
Joe and Mimi are busy with their jobs and occupation.
Takeru had more involvement but he shared the same fate as Hikari, getting kidnapped and going into a coma.
You’d think that they were going to have some more focus in the movie considering they were the first human characters we see on screen.
While Koushiro did go into a coma, he had more involvement in how things went through as opposed to the other members of the original eight chosen children
Really, Sora was demoted to a few cameos in the movie while the others, barring Koushirou, had glorified cameos where they get to join the fight.
Why do you think I dubbed this movie as Taichi’s and Yamato’s Last Adventure? The focus of the plot is more on the two of them, like really, they are the only characters who were given a huge amount of screen time and development.
----------
The conflict was good on paper, it had potential. But man its execution was sloppy. I get the stagnation of life as people grow into adults, especially in the Japanese workspace. (Sacrifice literally everything for the sake of work, work and more work.)
But man it was really sloppy.
Agumon’s and Gabumon’s disappearance was nothing but tragedy for tragedy’s sake.
----------
Let’s get to the positive side of things.
I love the fact that both Taichi and Yamato were doing amateur detective work, which was how the 02 peepz got involved.
I love how involved the 02 cast in the movie were. We were introduced to them on a ramen date between Ken and Daisuke and Iori. (We all know Iori’s the third wheel in this :p) In fact I loved how they were on foreign soil using the Digital Gate loophole to bypass customs and embassies.
The ramen date happened in New York if I’m not mistaken.
I also love the irony of “Justice! Do Good! Future Lawyer” Iori was the one who used Armadimon to bypass the security system.
I love the fact that while Yamato and Taichi were battling the tragic – I will save you – villain, the 02 kids were in the real world holding down the fort.
Granted that they were fighting in New York, they were still shown to fight the army of digimon, saving the younger chosen children.
I learned to love the movie despite its issues, but the issues are still there. They do hampered my enjoyment of the movie, but I learned to look at the silver lining and take what I can get.
But in media we consume, we should also look at them with a critical eye. We should critique it and not bash it.
There’s line that separates both.
With my grievances out of the way, here are my suggestions on how the movie should’ve been imo
Fair warning, that these suggestions don’t really change the plot we were given, but rather its sowing seeds for a potential sequel that could “fix”, for lack of better term, the plot threads in this movie, like the adults shouldn’t have Digimon bit
(Really all I’m remembering is Persona: Trinity Soul’s BS of Adults can’t have a Persona.)
With the warning out of the way, here are my suggestions.
The opening should’ve showed the other Chosen Children that’s not Yamato, Taichi, Takeru and Hikari fighting Digimon in their immediate areas with Koushiro guiding them. While Sora is shown doing flower arrangements.
With Hikari’s and Takeru’s kidnapping, they should’ve showed us how they were captured, while I have no problems with the reveal of their kidnapping, I think it would’ve been dramatic had we were shown how they were captured then cut to Yamato and Taichi going to their respective siblings while on the phone with Koushiro who can be seen looking at the images of Takeru and Hikari tied up on a chair.
I would even suggest that the image be on one window while his Digimon work would be shown on another window to foreshadow the things to come.
For the 02 peepz. While I don’t have a single ounce of problem with their involvement. I think it could do better.
Daisuke sees a child very close to being captured he catapulted himself and got taken instead, resulting in his loss of consciousness, which made Paildramon fade slowly but surely. (The form the Digimon takes what form they were when they disappeared.). Ken tries to rush to Daisuke’s aid but Miyako holds him back. A shockwave forces her to let go of him and rush towards Daisuke, but gets captured in the process, which resulted in him losing consciousness and Paildramon fading away.
Cue Omegamon with Taichi and Yamato vs. Paildramon, brainwashed Daisuke and Ken and Eosmon.
Then the nostalgic whistle happens.
It’s not enough to snap Daisuke and Ken (considering they don’t know its significance unlike the Original 8 chosen) but it does snap the others back to reality.
Cue Digivolving to Ultimate (Lilimon, Zudomon, Magna Angemon, AlturKabuterimon and Angewomon.) They fight Paildramon, who they fought to standstill.
Meanwhile, Hikari and Takeru work on trying to snap both Daisuke and Ken out of their brainwashed states with minimal successes.
Daisuke flickers back and forth from his state but Ken is rooted firmly in his brainwashing.
Sooner or later Hikari and Takeru became successful in snapping both Ken and Daisuke from the stupor they were in and joins the fight against Eosmon.
They made quick work of the clones but are powerless against the golden Digivolved Eosmon, reverting back to their child forms.
Cue in the new forms of Agumon and Gabumon.
Gennai has sowed this seed when he met with Taichi. The scene where Agumon and Garurumon digivolved into those new forms, the rings bars on their digivices should’ve been added. It showed that both Taichi and Yamato still had room to grow and don’t stagnate.
The scene cuts to Sora, hugging Biyomon while clutching her Digivice showing only one bar.
They won the fight.
As soon as the last of the memories were shown, we cut back to Sora crying as the last bits of Biyomon’s data disappeared.
Cut back to the fight, as Yamato and Taichi uses their digivices towards the villain, and that act subtracts the circular bars on their digivices to one bar.
The end scene happens, with Daisuke and Ken waking up from the streets, while the others wake up on their hospital beds.
The ending goes the same, but a credit scene shows an OG broken digivice glowing.
Overall, I give the movie a 7.5 rating, considering my grievances towards the movie. Don’t get me wrong, I like the movie, but there were a lot of cons that needed to be addressed, including the adults don’t have Digimon bit.
In fact, 7.5 is a little higher, its because of my love for the 02 kids that this was bumped above Endgame, solely for my bias towards Daisuke and the others.
And I reiterate, the “changes” I suggested are more on sowing the seeds for a potential sequel that still ties in the 02 epilogue.
Which is still deemed canon, considering the Ramen dates, Yamato and Taichi’s school, even Sora’s future occupation is still in place. Heck we’ve even seen the beginnings of both Koushiro’s and Joe’s 02 epilogue occupations.

Into the Future
Day 7 - Future
#noct writes taiora week 2020 [ 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 ]
@noctisfishing for Taiora/Digimon writings and more. :) @taioraweek for more Taiora love!
Setting: Adult AU (Last Evolution Kizuna-inspired) / Canon Divergent
Tags: Adventure, Romance
Other Characters: 01 Chosen Children and their Partners
Notes: I’m tagging this as a spoiler to be safe. This was inspired by the first scene of Kizuna. This fic turned out to be mostly a Sora show (something that was lacking in the actual movie) (not salty at all /s) BUT Sora deserves to be a star in my eyes, more importantly in Taichi’s. ;-;
This fic is also the longest but I wanted to end with a bang!! I hope you enjoy this. <3
~*~*~*~*~*~
"You look so grown up, Taichi."
Taichi stood in front of his mirror and had just buttoned up his dress shirt and straightened the cuffs when Agumon said those words from behind him. He had always liked to roll his sleeves towards his elbows for a more casual look, but tonight, he kept the sleeves long, and he even attempted to iron out the wrinkles of the shirt beforehand.
"I guess I do, huh?" Taichi asked in response.
The concept of growing up was so foreign to him. Even when he was on his way to graduating university, he wasn't sure if he wanted to jump into the life of an adult, in which he would work the typical five days a week, earn to make a living, and find less time to spend with his friends.
But tonight was a special occasion, after all. He needed to look the part at tonight's dinner with Sora, their Digimon, and both sets of their parents.
Kneeling down in front of his dresser, he opened the top drawer, observing his pair of goggles and his old digivice - two items from his childhood that he treasured. Then his eyes fell onto a small box in between them.
In that box was his future. Out of all the choices he had to make, inside that box represented the one that he was certain of making by the end of the night.
Suddenly, Taichi’s phone beeped on his table. Even as he stood a few feet from it, he was able to recognize Koushiro's name on the backlit screen.
Taichi already knew what Koushiro’s text message said before picking up his phone to read it:
“A Digital Gate is opening up. Need reinforcements.”
It was a group text sent to all of the Chosen. Taichi knew that Koushiro was always on alert, having his computer hardware readily available to monitor readings between the Digital World and the Real World.
But Taichi didn’t have time to think who else was available or too busy to make it; all he knew to do was to call Sora, who was probably already at the restaurant with their parents.
“Taichi,” she had answered after the first ring.
“Sora. Looks like dinner’s gonna have to wait,” he said, turning to Agumon who stood by waiting for Taichi to move.
The alarm echoed from Sora’s end. “I’ve gotta go,” she shouted over the alarm. “They’re telling everyone to find cover or leave the area. I’ll make sure our parents are safe and I’ll head out soon.”
“Okay, I love you.”
“I love you, too. Be safe.”
Once he hung up, Taichi grabbed the small box and placed it in his pocket. On his way out with Agumon, he hooked his bluetooth earpiece and pushed its button to turn on.
“Taichi,” Koushiro said from his ear piece. “You on your way?”
“It’s about damn time,” Yamato grunted.
“What?! Dinner’s not happening?” Mimi yelled from one end.
“This isn’t the time to be asking about that, Mimi!” Jou shouted.
Taichi began his sprint down the street with Agumon quickly following beside him. Even as the other Chosen were bickering in his ear, he trusted that none of them mentioned his plan out loud, especially if Sora happened to be listening in.
“Takeru and Hikari are already closest to the electromagnetic readings on the map,” Koushiro added. “Everyone else, stay alert.”
“Right!” they all said in unison.
~*~*~*~*~*~
Sora stood watch at the front of the restaurant on the street corner. A light breeze blowing against the skirt of her modest lace and chiffon dress drenched in blue. Piyomon was at her side as Sora urged her and Taichi’s parents to head into the restaurant and stay furthest from the windows. She had been listening in on the action from the others in her earpiece, and she knew that she and Piyomon would have to be ready to fight at any moment.
It was only a few blocks away from her that Okuwamon had appeared. She heard Mimi cheering for Togemon after she had jumped into the air and threw a Mach Jab against Okuwamon.
The ground rumbled slightly, and it followed with a shout from Jou - Ikkakumon had just been thrown against a few parked cars.
The Chosen worked to improve their Digimon’s fighting styles since high school, especially after the final fight with Ordinemon had caused the most damage to their city. Mainly with the help of Koushiro, the Digimon learned to maneuver through the streets while using their defensive tactics to fight against rogue Digimon that came through the Digital Gates at any given time.
Focused on the battle that she could only hear through her earpiece, Sora waited for any sign of how Taichi was doing. However, she was interrupted by a woman that grabbed either of her shoulders, screaming her head off in a panic.
“HEELLPP!” the woman cried, causing Sora to feel as though she jumped out of her skin.
“Sora!” Piyomon cried.
Sora shook off her fright immediately and grabbed hold of the woman’s arms in return.
“Ma’am, are you okay?” Sora asked, staring into the woman’s eyes to try to get her to focus and calm down.
“It’s coming! It’s coming!!”
Another rumble on the ground, more violent than before, and Sora and the women held each other to keep each other from falling. But as Sora looked up, she saw it.
The large silver insect Digimon had crashed into a building two blocks away, which Greymon had ultimately pushed him into.
“Taichi! I told you not to be so reckless!” Koushiro shouted.
“We’re trying not to be!” Taichi groaned.
Sora was torn between feeling relieved at the sound of Taichi’s voice and fighting the urge to scold him more than Koushiro had just done. But, she had to stay calm.
“Get into the restaurant,” Sora told the woman, patting her in comfort. Appearing to have calmed down, the woman nodded with tears in her eyes and ran through the doors behind Sora.
“Ah! Another gate’s opening up!” Koushiro announced. “Just down the street! We need to get it there now!”
Sora stood alert as she watched Okuwamon recover and fly up and away from Greymon. Its screech echoed into the air, and its wings made a loud buzz as it swirled before heading into a new direction. Sora reached for her smartphone in her pocket with her fingers tight around its edges.
“Wait! Where’s it going?” Takeru asked.
“Angewomon, stop him!” Hikari cried. “He’s going the wrong way!”
Okuwamon sped through the street between the tall buildings, right in Sora’s direction.
“Now, Piyomon!”
In a bright flash of white light, Piyomon glowed as she evolved into her larger bird-like form, spreading her wings with flames burning away to reveal her orange talons.
And with that, Birdramon appeared, launching toward Okuwamon to block him from going further, then she was thrusted backward in the air as Okuwamon crashed against her.
Sora ducked and held her hands over her head for cover as a huge gust of wind from the impact nearly knocked her off her feet.
“Sora!” Hikari called to her when the wind died down, running towards her as she stood up. “Are you okay?”
“Sora?” she heard Taichi in her earpiece. “Glad you could join the party. I’m sure you’re dazzling in whatever you’re wearing tonight.”
“Save the sweet talk for later,” Koushiro interjected. “We’ve got to get Okuwamon to the gate!”
Sora exchanged embarrassed smiles with Hikari before returning to face the battle, where Birdramon had released herself from Okuwamon’s grasp, making the opening for Angemon to throw his Hand of Fate against Okuwamon and further down the street.
“Awesome!” Takeru shouted.
“Your turn, Angewomon!” Hikari yelled, as Angewomon flew out of the way for Angewomon to shoot her Celestial Arrow.
“They’re heading toward the gate!” said Jou with panic in his voice.
“We’re on it!” Yamato said in response. “Taichi and I are headed that way!”
“Sora, hop on,” Birdramon told her, and Sora and Hikari jumped onto her Digimon’s back. As they followed Angewomon and Angewomon carrying Okuwamon toward the gate, Sora noticed the large flat screen monitors on the buildings turning on, all showing the local news video feed of the large ball of flashing colors in the middle of an empty street, its lights flickering and sparks flying all around it.
The Digital Gate was not too far up ahead. Sora looked beyond Okuwamon and spotted Garurumon and Greymon, and Yamato riding his motorcycle with Taichi sitting right behind him.
“You two - pin him down right when he gets there!” Taichi instructed his and Yamato’s partners, both which Sora heard growled in agreement.
Sora believed in them to finish this fight.
~*~*~*~*~*~
“The gate is closing soon!” Koushiro announced. “Try not to get too close to it!”
Taichi and Yamato jumped off of the bike as soon as they parked near the gate.
“How soon, Koushiro?” Taichi asked.
“Twenty seconds!”
Taichi looked to Yamato and exchanged a nod, but a loud buzz reached their ears. They turned toward the gate and noticed the top was glowing brighter, with sparks of light crackling faster and brighter-
“Look out!!” Yamato exclaimed, and Taichi jumped in the opposite direction from him as a bolt of lightning shattered the asphalt where they had just stood.
“That’s not supposed to happen!” Koushiro cried. “You two’d better get out of there - this gate is the most unstable one I’ve seen!”
“Taichi! Taichi!” Sora shouted. “Are you alright?”
“Sora, I’m alright-”
“Aaagghh!” Angewomon yelled as she crashed against the ground. Taichi got back on his feet and saw that Okuwamon had broken free of the angel Digimons’ grasp and was flying further away from the gate.
But not before Garurumon pounced on top of Okuwamon, pinning him down a few yards away from his final destination.
“Ten seconds!”
Okuwamon had lunged forward his attack which threw Garurumon back, but appeared caught by surprise when Angemon and Togemon double teamed him with their punches.
“Five seconds!”
They still weren’t at the gate. Greymon’s Nova Blast would easily force the rogue Digimon into the gate, but Taichi knew that they had already done enough damage to the city as it happened.
“Four!”
Garurumon was on the ground, and so was Angewomon. Ikakkumon was too far away.
“Three!”
Okuwamon was strong, pushing back against Angemon and Togemon - strong enough to force them all to fall backward against the ground.
“Two!”
A loud shriek was heard from behind him, but what happened next seemed to happen in slow motion. Like a burst of flames Birdramon flew by, with her large claws clenching into Okuwamon and flying him right into the gate. Right above Birdramon, he caught sight of Sora’s blue dress and her fiery red hair blowing against the wind. She turned around, as though she knew that he was watching, and she flashed a smile.
He had never been more ready to see what the future held for him.
At the moment Koushiro should have finished his countdown, Birdramon had released her claws and soared higher above, and the light of the Digital Gate had begun to consume Okuwamon.
But the ground began to rumble. Violently.
“Koushiro! What’s happening?” Taichi heard Yamato ask. He couldn’t see where everyone had gone, and he had fallen against the asphalt.
Taichi couldn’t get up.
“The gate is closing - but it’s creating seismic waves!”
“You mean, an earthquake?!” Jou asked.
“Take cover!”
He wasn’t sure if he hit his head, but his vision blurred, and the sound of rumbling had grown faint.
“Taichi!” he heard a growl from a far. Greymon? He wasn’t sure, but the next thing he saw was his eyesight fading, and darkness looming like a shadow casting over him.
~*~*~*~*~*~
Sora was back on the ground, covering a small child as Birdramon hovered with her wings spread out above. They heard a scream during the earthquake, where a small child was too scared to move away from a lamppost that was threatening to break loose. Birdramon has swooped down in time for Sora to embrace the child in her arms until the earthquake stopped.
“Are you alright?” Sora asked the child, who stared up at her with a frightened look in his eyes. But he nodded at her, and he seemed to cheer up after she gave him a smile.
“Akemi-kun!” came a frantic shout. A woman rushed over to her son and scooped her up in his arms, sobbing. “Thank you,” she added tearfully to Sora and Birdramon.
“Of course,” said Sora, looking up at Birdramon to share a smile.
“Sora, Sora!” she heard in her ear suddenly.
“Koushiro,” she answered, putting her finger up to adjust her earpiece.
“Get over to the gate’s location, quick! Taichi’s not responding!”
Sora gasped and looked up at the large monitors that others were already watching. The Digital Gate was no longer there, but Sora saw her friends crowding around Greymon, who had just risen from a pile of rubble. Underneath him, she could make out Taichi’s brown hair, with his hand laying back, unmoving.
She immediately turned to Birdramon, who must’ve recognized the horrified look on Sora’s face. She lowered to the ground, allowing Sora to jump onto her back, and together they flew towards the site.
Sora’s mind seemed to race as quickly as Birdramon’s speed of flying. She tried not to think about the worst, but as she thought about her life, the career path she finally decided to choose, she hoped to the gods above that Taichi was okay.
She couldn’t imagine her future without him.
As Sora had suspected from the live video feed, she and Birdramon arrived to discover that Taichi was unconscious. Sora rushed to Taichi’s side just as Greymon had devolved back into Agumon, and looked on at Taichi worriedly.
“Taichi, baka…” she began, hearing the crack in her own voice. “How many times did we tell you not to be so reckless?” She ran her fingers gently through his hair before cupping her palm on his cheek.
And then, she felt Taichi’s hand against hers, and she watched his eyes flutter open.
“Hi, there,” he said softly as his lips curled into a smile. “You really are dazzling tonight, Sora.”
“How could you be smiling at a time like this?” Sora’s eyes welled into tears. “Can you move?”
“Can I move…?” As though he was wondering aloud, Taichi carefully moved his head from side to side, and then he removed his hand from hers and rotated his wrist. She watched his other arm fidgeting next to him. “I think that’s a ‘yes’.”
“What... are you doing?” Sora couldn’t fathom why he was being so casual after the likelihood of suffering head trauma. “Taichi, are you hurt at all?”
For some reason, Taichi let out a chuckle. “Depends on your answer, Sora.”
That was when Sora noticed his fidgeting arm, with which he lifted his hand, revealing a small opened box that revealed a diamond ring.
A gasp escaped her lips.
“Taichi…”
Sora covered her mouth with her hands, finding no words to express her emotion, but she let her tears stream down her cheeks.
Taichi sat up, then got into a kneeling position. “I was going to do this in front of our parents…”
“I’m sure they’re watching right now,” Biyomon interjected, and Sora turned around with Taichi to see that the large building monitors had the two of them in the spotlight.
And behind them, the Chosen Children with their Rookie partners, all looking on in excitement.
“Well, I didn’t think I’d make a big show out of this… but, you are my star, Sora. You are the only future I’ve always been so sure about. So… will you marry me?”
Sora felt her heart swelling with happiness. Staring back into his hopeful brown eyes, she only had one answer to give:
“Yes, Taichi!”
She flung her arms around him, nearly toppling him over and crashing her lips against his. She could feel the hum of his laughter as he kissed her back. Behind them, their friends erupted into cheers. Mimi and Palmon began to sob while Gomamon and Patamon shouted with glee.
They broke off the kiss only for Taichi to slide the ring onto her ring finger. Sora noticed his tears of joy streaming down which only made her cry even more.
~*~*~*~*~*~
What happened next was no surprise to anyone: a handful of reporters arrived at the scene hoping to catch an interview with the Chosen Children. The Digimon loved posing for the cameras every single time. It became routine for Yamato, Mimi, and Taichi to handle the interviews on the scene - and sometimes, Koushiro spoke to news anchors through video conferencing - but the others, including Sora, didn’t mind answering questions whenever they asked.
This time, while Mimi chatted freely about Togemon to a few reporters, others found it most interesting to interview Sora, especially after Birdramon’s valiant efforts, but mainly because of her new ring. She spoke to them with grace and poise as she normally did, although she knew her cheeks must have been bright red with Taichi and Agumon cheering her and Piyomon on from beyond the camera.
None of the Chosen had ever thought the general public would change their tune on Digimon. Sora wanted to get used to public relations for her career, but she still had her moments of shyness in front of a live camera.
Both Sora’s and Taichi’s parents ended up meeting them at the site to congratulate them on their engagement. Feeling guilty, Sora offered for her and Taichi to join them for dinner, but all four parents urged them to go home and rest, and that they could have a proper dinner celebration another time.
The Chosen and their partners went their separate ways, and Sora asked to stay over at Taichi’s small apartment for the night. Sometimes they shared his bed, and sometimes he let Sora sleep on the mattress while he slept on the floor; but there were some nights like that night when Agumon and Piyomon fell asleep back-to-back, leaving both Taichi and Sora to get used to sleeping on the carpet.
Taichi had been wanting to move out of his studio apartment, and he knew that he had to make that want into a reality now.
Both he and Sora sat against the side of his bed, listening to the two Digimon snoring softly behind them. Sora nestled her head in the crook of his neck and he put his arm around her as she held out the back of her right hand, admiring the sparkle of the diamond. Marrying her was another want that he was ecstatic for her to accept, as much as he was relieved.
Neither Sora nor Taichi knew what was to come. They didn’t know whether a new Digital Gate would appear and where, or if another earthquake would follow. They didn’t know how long they’d be able to see their Digimon partners, given the few times they’ve had to say goodbye, each time believing that it was their last. Sora didn’t know how her career track would work out, and Taichi was still undecided.
But they knew they would always have each other, tonight, tomorrow, and into the future.

Anything but a cliché
FF.net link: Here
AO3 link: Here
Characters: Izumi Koushiro and Yagami Taichi.
Pairing: Taishiro.
Words: 1100+.
Notes: This is supposed to take place a little before 02. Also, it was originally planned as a Koukari but??? I turned it into my first Taishiro. I’M SCREAMING TOO.
I love Taishiro so much so it was about time I actually contributed to this ship. Thanks reboot for fueling my Taishiro heart.
Enjoy!
Koushiro hated clichés. If he ever found something interesting, about anything it was precisely because it fought against the ordinary. There were so many facts that broke the usual patterns, facts worth of his attention. Hence why he hated clichés.
Yet, there he was. Living one of the most used clichés in history. Would that make it a cliché-ception? How was he supposed to know, that word didn’t even exist. Living in this cliché was already making his mind have glitches. He had to get off from that reality as soon as possible.
“Koushiro?”
“Ah!”
“You’ve been in a trance for exactly two minutes and 34 seconds, I counted them to be precise and appear smart.” Koshiro looked up at Taichi, who seemed pretty scary from the angle he was in. “And you haven’t even typed anything, in your computer, are you Ok?”
“Yes, I was…” he cold feel his face go red, Taichi was precisely the last person he wanted to see in that moment. “I was just thinking, everything is perfect!”
“Where are you going? Weren’t we supposed to eat at your place today?” Koushiro was quick to put his laptop in his backpack and walk as fast as he could towards the school’s exit.
“I forgot I can’t today!” he cursed his shorter legs, compared to Taichi’s longer ones. Perhaps, if he hadn’t quit the soccer team, he would have longer legs, also.
“What? Why not? Did something happen?” Koushiro was sweating, Taichi was having a normal walk, breeze in face and everything else.
“Yes! My mom’s… plant died! She’s so sad, it would be very selfish of me to bring visitors today.”
“Oh no, I’ve noticed how much she takes care of her plants, tell her I’m sorry?” Coming from anyone else, that would’ve come out as a sarcastic comment, but Taichi was sincere, Koushiro had no doubt about it. He suddenly felt guilty for lying to Taichi, his mom really did take good care of her plants.
“I will!”
“See you tomorrow?” Koushiro didn’t reply, he ran as fast as his short legs let him. He thought his heart was pounding as hard as it had been because of the cardio, but truth is it kept pounding as hard by the time he had arrived at his place.
He wished humans were as simple as computers, whereas he could press keyboard key and it would make all go away. But humans were far more complicated, they had feelings.
“How was school? Wasn’t Taichi supposed to come have lunch with us today?” his mom was a sweetheart; he knew it more than anyone else. He felt bad for lying to her. He would have to compensate everyone he had been lying to lately, including himself.
“He had a stomachache,” he grabbed an oolong tea from the fridge before running straight to his room. “I’m not hungry, either!”
He cold very much continue to ignore everything he was feeling, he had been doing so for the past few months, he could keep doing it for a lifetime, right? His whole life didn’t have to get stuck in this cliché forever, it was against everything he believed in.
Seriously, Koushiro? Falling for your best friend?
He stared right as his laptop screen. He didn’t even know if Taichi… if by any chance Taichi even liked…. He grabbed his phone and wondered if it was any good idea to text someone, anyone, but he suddenly left it back at his desk. The most obvious person he wanted to text was Sora, she was his best friend when it came to feelings, and he was sure she wouldn’t make fun of him. But he believed she, also, had a crush on Taichi. The hairclip incident had been a little too much so it wouldn’t have been something personal.
He then thought about Jou, the oldest, the wittiest. But he wasn’t great when it came to feelings, he would probably advise him to read a book and find out the solution himself. And Yamato, his stomach shrank by the mere thought of talking to Yamato about romance.
A knock on the door knocked him off his thoughts. His door opened to find his mom… and Taichi. He wanted the floor to open and suck him in when he saw his mom holding a brand-new plant, with a gift bow, even!
“Koushiro?”
“Yes, I think we need to talk,” his mom nodded and closed the door behind her. Perhaps she knew what was going on, his mom always knew.
“You lied to me,” the brunette’s eyes appeared hurt, but also curious. Him and Taichi had been friends for the longest time, he had been friends with him longer in his life than the time he hadn’t know him. They had been inseparable ever since, never afraid to talk to him or trust him anything, even if some of the things he talked about Taichi couldn’t understand. And right there, in that moment, everything could simply disappear. He felt scared, no, terrified.
“I know I did and I’m deeply sorry.”
“I may appear as dumb sometimes, but even I have noticed you’ve been acting strange lately. I just want us to go back to normal.”
Is that even possible?
“I would really like that, it’s just…” Koushiro could’ve swore that he had never seen Taichi so focused on something that wasn’t soccer. All his attention was on his dark eyes. “I’ve been feeling really strange lately.”
“Is it the Digital World? Is something wrong with Agumon and the others?”
“No, no, they’re fine. Gennai is taking good care of everyone. It’s about you.” Taichi’s eyes opened wide, Koushiro didn’t look away.
“Did I do something stupid? Most times I don’t notice, oh Koshiro, I’m so sorry!”
“No, no. I mean, yes most times you don’t notice but it’s not like that this time. It’s about you, but it’s also about me.” Taichi blinked a couple of times, confused. “I feel like I’m damaged, and somehow, for some reason my mind has decided I no longer see you as a friend.”
“What do you mean…”
“I wish it wasn’t like that, I’ve been trying so hard to suppress these feelings, but they keep coming back every time you smile!” Koushiro’s eyes were watering, Taichi could count the times he had seen Koushiro cry during all those years with just the fingers of one hand.
“Koushiro I-“
“You don’t have to say anything, really. I know this may be stupid and you probably don’t want to see me again…” he felt Taichi’s strong hands on his sholders, he looked up to be surprised by the warm taste of his lips on his own.
“Come with me.” Koushiro felt dizzy, and Taichi dared to look completely normal, eyes bright.
“Where?”
“Does it matter?” truth was, it didn’t.
