Summary: Takeru struggles to find the inspiration to continue writing his novel. It's a warm Summer night in July 2015 and the last thing he expects is a sudden lightning strike - one which may affect him, the other Chosen Children and their future to an extent he cannot fathom yet...

‘One thing that shall never be underestimated is that there is always something unexpected to expect when Digimon are involved.’
Once he had finished that sentence – as stiff as it appeared to him –, Takeru leaned back into his chair and stretched out his arms. He had been trying to get into a habit of daily writing his novel for a while now, but today, the words simply didn’t want to flow.
After yawning loudly into the silence of his room, he let his eyes roam around. Patamon was already fast asleep, dreaming of chocolate frappuccinos on his bed as the clock on his laptop taunted him with how late it already was.
“Almost midnight…”, he mumbled to himself. The chat window had gone silent an hour and so, without much distraction, he didn’t even have an excuse for the lack of creativity that had been haunting him all night. Unfortunately, he didn’t feel like sleeping either, so the urge to just go and text the others to see if anyone was still awake was incredibly tempting…
Takeru was pretty sure that Koushirou was still up, as always. Maybe Iori was up late studying. Hikari was having a week off from kindergarten duty, so he might be lucky in trying to reach her. Maybe his brother, who currently resided in the United States for an internship, was not busy for once and could text him back?
“I shouldn’t though…”, he groaned, knowing he had to be responsible. In sheer desperation, he opened the Chosen Children app on his laptop to take a look around the map and chat options, hoping to find any news he could occupy himself with, regardless of where in the world somebody was texting. It was a shame that gate hopping wasn’t a thing anymore since the Digivices had vanished almost three years ago – and they still hadn’t figured out how to make it work with Koushirou’s technology. Still, Takeru liked checking on the app, just like he liked checking the general group chat. It was giving him a sense of serenity to see everyone interact casually, just when everything finally seemed mostly peaceful.
… Which was his last thought before he caught the glimpse of lightning striking outside from the corner of his eye.
“Woah!”
There had been a loud noise – somewhere not too far away from his apartment complex, so he had naturally jumped up from his chair.
“Wha- Takeru?”, Patamon shrieked, woken up by the rumbling as Takeru rushed to his open window. It had been a warm Summer day in the middle of July, but there was a chilliness right now that sent a shiver down his spine. His eyes sought through the night sky, trying to locate any kind of strange occurrence – and apparently, he wasn’t alone in his assumption that something about this lightning had not been ‘natural’.
“I can feel something…”, Patamon murmured, still half asleep, but alert enough to fly next to his human partner onto the window sill to join his efforts to look around.
“What do you mean? It wasn’t a digital gate, was it?”, Takeru asked, heart racing, both with worry – and excitement. Not that he had wished for a nightly Digimon attack disturbing the peace they had worked so hard to achieve. But a part of him really missed the supernatural experiences they used to encounter on a daily basis.
“I’m not sure… Something like an energy spike…? And doesn’t it look more foggy to you?”
Takeru squinted his eyes. “Yeah, it does…” Never had he missed the responsive beeping of his Digivice more than in this moment. Either way, whether or not there really was a Digimon involved, he felt validated in sending a warning into the group chat after all.
‘Just witnessed a lightning strike near my flat. Did any of you see anything? Patamon says there was an ‘energy spike’?! Will check out if there’s anything dangerous out there. I’ll keep you guys updated!’
“We should go and see if anything happened. You ready?”
“Aaaaawwwwlways!”, Patamon agreed with a yawn in between and Takeru quickly grabbed his phone. It was still odd to be able to trigger an evolution just with the “power of his belief” facilitated by the phone. But with Angemon by his side, he was confident that they’d be able to face any threat out there. And maybe gather some more writing inspiration in the process…

Lucemon watched his lover scramble around their house, grabbing the things they needed to go out.
The digimon, with how powerful he was, was in a human disguise; still similar to his true form just a lot smaller- still tall by human standards, 6'6- He wore a white turtle neck, black and gold glasses and black jeans with golden seams, as well as a black jacket and white gloves. Lucemon lacked his wings and face markings aside from lipstick and a bit of purple eye shadow. He looked rather human, simple but a bit fancy.
"Are you ready now?" He questioned with a slight smile, amused, and they rushed to his side. Their arm wrapped around his as they nodded.
Finally the two were out of the house and heading towards the sidewalk. No real plans, just out to walk, explore, chat, and most importantly spend time with each other. It was a beautiful day out, the start of Summer. The sky was a bright blue and fresh greens were all around. Simple, but beautiful.
Lucemon looked down at his lover who had started talking about whatever came to mind. He listened, admiring their looks and their voice- That voice was most comforting to him. Times like these were such an odd mix of feelings. Love and bitterness. He loved his partner, he loved their world, and he loved the digital world with all of the digimon. But he still held resentment for whoever created all of this pain and violence—
"Did you ever have a partner? Not like, ya know- Like, a fighting buddy?" His eyes grew wide, snapped out of his thoughts as the question surprised him. All of what he'd been thinking had simply disappeared now. "Oh, ehm, no, I have never."
"Why not?" His lover asked, curiosity glowing in their eyes, making him smile. "It's a long story, my love," he smiled gently down at them. They leaned more into him, "Please tell me? I want to know." They looked up, giving him pleading eyes, getting a small laugh from him. "Well, I suppose I was the top Demon lord, I'd control most of the other lords. Before that, I was the protector of the Digimon...I wanted to protect them all, but bitterness and hatred took over...So much death, pain, and fear...all of that can be fixed in my world. All of it could have changed but no one wanted it to change. So when I wasn't allowed to, I tried forcing it." He paused for a moment, sighing a bit.
"It only created hatred, bitterness and ignorance in me. It made it hard to get close to me, including all of the demon lords. I suppose I still have my walls up, making it difficult to trust someone as much as a partner. I only truly believed in myself and that I didn't need anyone." He had looked forward as he spoke, gaze turning hard and steely for a moment, before looking back at them. He studied their face, their emotions were hard to read aside from sadness and attentiveness.
"Do you think you'll ever have one?" They finally asked, their tone was sweet and caring. The digimon smiled in response, "Someday." He loved the thought of trusting his lover with his life as well as protecting them. His eyes were so loving it made his lover soft. "I do admit, I'm not sure how it happens or works," which was true, but it made his partner grin and laugh a bit.
Their smile got a small grin out of him in response. He kissed their cheek, "I love you," spoken so softly. "I love you too," they chirped as they continued their walk, talking the whole time.

Second, shes asexual as hell, so theres like no implied "romance" jokes
Third, shes FROM italy instead of going aborad. I feel like her having gone abroad is just weird to me, so i did keep her english dub name and even gave her a european last name bc an italian having a japanese last name doesnt make a lot of sense to me

25 Years [Odaiba Memorial Fic]

When I realized that this year would be the 25th Odaiba Memorial, I felt the need to write a one shot for the occasion, given that Digimon was my original fandom.
So, I wrote a story about the Digimon Adventure/02 kids celebrating their special day once again.
25 Years

August 1st, 2024. It has been twenty-five years since Taichi and his friends first travelled to the digital world. As the former chosen children grow up, it is harder each year for them to find time for their yearly celebration. Still, they will try again each year.

Did a drawing based off a dream I had where izzy and tai get stranded in a glacier alone for a number of days, also tai is concussed and Izzy’s leg was broken
Izzy figures out pretty quick that tai was concussed because he had an intense headache and couldn’t stand up without falling so izzy has to look after him while they wait to hopefully be found by the others
With Izzy’s leg being broken he can’t stand so he can really only crawl, tai doesn’t really know what’s wrong with him but he knows izzy is hurt (izzy knows his leg is broken, but refused to tell tai cus he doesn’t want him to worry and because he believes tai is in a worse condition) and tai wants to help izzy aswell but can’t because of the constant nausea and fatigue from his injury
Because of being trapped in ice they spend a good lot of the time cuddled up together to stay warm
I kinda like this idea I haven’t wrote a fic since I was 13 but I might for this cus I kinda like it

Takari Week 2024 - Day 2: Second Year

Title: Invisible [Prologue II] (Second Year)
Characters: Hikari Yagami, Takeru Takaishi, Taichi Yagami, Yamato Ishida.
Summary: It takes time to find our place. And sometimes that place isn't a place, it's someone. And even if the castle falls, we can always put the pieces back together and build it again.
Note: A collection of stories that gives us an insight into Takeru and Hikari's relationship over the years. It was really hard to put all the prompts explicitly in the story, so I tried to metaphorize some of them, in order for them to make sense at the end.
It is composed of two prologues, one for Takeru and one for Hikari, exposing events before 1999. And a final epilogue, summarizing all the feelings exposed in the previous chapters. In the intermediate chapters, we follow all the challenges that a long-term friendship has to face when it becomes a romantic relationship, and how we form solid and permanent bonds with the ones we love the most.

She waved goodbye to her classmates from the bottom of the street and continued alone to the cluster of buildings where her house was located. It was Friday, finally.
She felt exhausted. Not physically, but emotionally. I mean, physically too, but not as much as emotionally. Her legs felt heavy, but her heart was feeling even heavier. What a suffocating week.
Several trips to the doctor later, and successive hospitalizations over the years made that physical weakness something customary to her. Casual almost. She was breathing heavily. Each step felt like a different kind of torture. And the worst of all, no one could tell her if she is ever going to be perfectly recovered.
Would she ever be healthy?
All of that caused her an almost constant absence at school. Treatments, days she could barely get out of bed, leaving classes earlier because she felt dizzy, tired, exhausted. Was impossible for her to make real friends. She barely knew anyone in her class. It's not like they ignored her, but they simply had no time to create a bond with her. A real connection. It was not something that was allowed to her.
She had no idea what they liked to talk about. What kind of games they liked to play. She felt out of place. Constantly. Most of them had good intentions, they were good kids, and they cared about her. But time. Nothing pays for the time we spend creating something with someone. It is rarely spontaneous. 
Time was cruel. And ironic. Hikari felt that no amount of time would be enough to heal that wound.
“I am home. “
She tried to sound as normal as she could.
“How was school, dear?” Asked her mother as she saw her cross the hallway.
“Great!” She faked a weak smile. “I just have a lot of homework to do.”
“I see. You must catch up the rest of the class. “
“I am trying my best…”
She went to the bedroom she still shared with her older brother and closed the door. She placed her backpack on her desk and sighed. Another day has passed, and no progress has been made. She took three steps back and fell back onto the bed.
Would it ever get better?

“Hikari! I have a surprise for you!”
Taichi’s voice sounded like an alarm clock to her.
She was at the dinner table finishing some schoolwork when he approached her. He came near her and stood by her side, irradiating confidence.
It was a sweet and warm Sunday morning, and she didn't expect her brother to wake up so early. He had football training on Saturday and usually rested until lunchtime on Sunday.
Today was not the case.
Taichi had woken up early and she had heard him on the phone with someone shortly after waking up. He wasn't exactly… careful with the noise he made or the tone of voice he used, so he ended up waking her up unintentionally.
“Guess who's coming to visit!”
She blinked. No idea, she thought. Taichi had so many friends that it was impossible to predict. School friends, football mates, neighbours… unlike her, he had unbelievable social skills.
“Sora?”  She finally guessed. He loved spending time with Sora, so it sounded like a plausible possibility.
“Oh, no, not Sora. Do you have a second guess?”
“Ah… not really.” She looked back at what she was previously doing.
“Yamato!”
“Oh, I see. “She said unsurprisingly.
 Yamato was a regular visit as well; he often came to play with Taichi or do some homework. Although they had some conflicts in the past, it seems that now they have learned to be best friends and support each other in every possible conceivable way.
“…and… Takeru is coming along!” 
“Really?” She got up from the chair where she was sitting. “Is he really coming?” Her eyes were like stars, bright and clear.
“Now I captured your attention!” Taichi let out a genuine laugh of delight before continuing. “They are coming after lunch. Me and Yamato have some homework to do together, and since Takeru is in Odaiba, we thought that it would be nice for you two to see each other again.”
“I don’t see him since… “
“Yes, I know. I am glad you still remember him. And I can see your enthusiasm!”
She never told anyone about it, but Taichi knew how hard it was for her, not to be able to make friends. He knew how wonderful his sister was, and he knew how cruel life had been to her. She was kind, honest, and caring, she just needed an opportunity. She just needed to be seen for who she really was.
And how could she forget about Takeru?
Everything that happened was still fresh in her memory.
The laughter, all the tears, the fear.
The way they had to act like a team to survive. The way he did not let her down and cared for her, even though he barely knew her at the time. They clicked so naturally. It had never happened to her before. Time did not mean a thing for them. 
But did he remember her, the way she remembers him?

“So…” She said shyly “Do you want to solve a puzzle or build a castle with some blocks?” 
“Oh, I love building blocks!”
“Great, me too!”
Despite everything that happened, they were still kids. They were still nine-year-olds. Who wanted to play, to laugh together and to forget their problems that seemed bigger than them.
“So, you decided to build a castle!”
Taichi’s voice sounded loudly in the living room. He looked like he had come to get something to drink from the fridge. He was in their parent’s small home office with Yamato doing schoolwork.
“Do you want something to drink as well, or to eat? It will not take us too long to finish but you can have something now if you want.”
They shared a look.
“We can wait for you!” Takeru said.
“Yes, we can wait!” 
Taichi smiled and went inside the room again.
He felt very content. Hikari never brought a friend home to play. And he was overjoyed by that little achievement of hers. It finally seemed like she was enjoying sharing a moment with someone.
Some time had passed, and they had made a lot of progress on that castle. It was almost as tall as them.
“Oh…”
Takeru couldn't say anything more; after touching one of the blocks at the top of the castle and seeing them all fall to the ground, one by one.
He blinked nervously and looked at her in the eyes. He had screwed up, he thought.
“I… am sorry, Hikari.”
She smiled.
He couldn’t believe it, but she just smiled sincerely and started to collect the blocks again.  Wasn’t she even a little upset? After all the effort they put into building that castle.
“It’s ok.” She said after a few seconds. “The base was fragile, you see. If we want to build one that would not tremble so easily, we must focus more on the base next time!”
“Ah… sure.” He answered a little insecure. “But… It was my fault that…”
“Oh no!” She stopped him. “If anything, it was OUR fault. Because we built it together. And we can always re-build it again and again…” She continued collecting the blocks.” Until it’s perfect!”
“You are… right. We can always build it again…”
“That’s the spirit!”
Their brothers, who had heard the blocks castle falling moments before, were near the door listening to the conversation, exchanging the most genuine sights of pride.
They knew that those two kids would grow up to be wonderful adults if they maintained and cultivated that empathetic and caring attitude.
“You know what Yamato… can you please bring Takeru more often?”
“Yes… definitely I will.”

HAPPY ODAIBA DAY! I just published a new chapter of my digimon fanfic, Infinite Possibilities! Read it on AO3 or FFN!
In today's chapter, Koushiro gives Eimi background info on the relationship between the Chosen and the Bureau, and we see the lingering damage from the events of Tri. I was so interested in thinking up what happened to the 02 kids afterward, I hope I can expand those ideas into a full fic someday.
I'm so excited, because things really start to pick up next chapter, when Hikari and Miyako tell the villages of baby digimon what happened to their missing friends.
Fic Summary:
As more people meet their digimon partners, the challenges of digimon and humans coexisting on earth cannot be ignored. College student Anami Eimi begins her career in digimon research, hoping to help digimon and humans understand one another. When she discovers caged digimon in her new lab, she contacts the Japanese Chosen, setting off a chain of events that force the Chosen and their digimon to reevaluate the dynamics of their partnership.
This fic is set pre and post Kizuna, and is a mostly canon compliant expansion. It's a three phase story, the first starring OC Anami Eimi, then Izumi Koushiro, then Yagami Hikari. It explores the realities, challenges, and politics of digimon living on earth, and the nature of the Chosen/digimon partnership.
Can the Chosen and their digimon find the infinite possibilities that will sustain their partnerships into adulthood?
There are mentions of couples in this fic, but it's action/world expansion/plot driven, not a romance.

Digimon Adventure Fanfic
Hello, I'm shamelessly shilling my fanfic: Digimon Adventure: Dark Tidings. It's set post 02 following some original characters and following up on some of the plot points that 02 left hanging. It is canon complaint and sfw and uses dub terminology.
Months after the defeat of MaloMyotismon, American DigiDestined Daniel receives a message from the Digital World. Embarking on an adventure to find his missing brother in the Digital World, Daniel and his partner Blue the Dracomon will find themselves entangled in a larger plot where new threats are rising and old loyalties are questioned. If he and his new friends can't uncover the details and find the power within themselves, the fate of both worlds may come to an end.
So far 2 chapters are out and I've written up to chapter 6. Please check it out and give me some constructive criticism.
