requested by @littlestsheriff !! i'm sorry this is so late i've been swamped with finals , i sigh. ( ps if you are into arcane and are a regressor check out his stuff !! ) i think i said this last time but i love writing cg vi bc he's one of my fictional cgs so this got me excited (>///<). you know the drill by now (i hope), vi will be referred to with he/him pronouns. if you disagree with this headcanon that's perfectly fine but any hate / transphobia will be blocked. arcane masterlist here , upcoming list here

vi is so supportive of you when you come out. he's always threatening to beat up anyone who would potentially unsupportive and if he had to he would no questions asked. he's not a trans man but he is transmasc so he knows all about trans stuff and is more than happy to help you out with your t shots and with getting trans tape or a binder !

vi teaching his little brother (you !) how to do t shots, doing his with you and giving you a big smile and a high five when you're done. he's impressed with how good you are with it, telling you how much he cried his first time (his one thing is needles... bleegh).

vi mostly calls you "little man" but of course being the silly guy he is he gets in a couple silly nicknames as well like "stinky" and "squirt". you mostly call him bubba. he doesn't really like parental titles cause he's your brother not your parent !

if you're both really small then caitlyn will take care of you guys but usually he's old enough to take you on adventures himself. even if he's feeling smaller than usual he's still really proud of being your big brother. he always wants to give you your bottle, or to give you his blankie to keep you nice and warm. he's really protective of you even when he's feeling younger. "mama, can i see bubby?" "not now, silly, you've just seen him 5 minutes ago, let him have his nap."

if you're feeling fussy, vi will slip you a sweet from his secret stash. he sometimes will try to bribe you with his candy which if you're being honest always works. he's never trying to get you to do anything really naughty but maybe bribing you to not tell caitlyn on the rare occasion he has an accident or so you'll keep quiet for a little while.

vi is always bragging to his friends about you, telling them how awesome you are. he's so so proud to have you as a brother, always trying to be a good role model for you. if someone even jokingly says something at your expense he'll give them a threatening look and make a fist at them.

playfighting !! oh you guys are always playfighting or rough housing. it stops immediately if someone is hurt though, if you ever cry out he jumps back immediately going from silly to serious in a second. "i'm really sorry, did i hurt you? should i get mama? please don't cry !"

gets you two matching stuffies as a surprise. his is named after you and yours is named after him.

vi trying to give you your first gender affirming haircut. he's so proud of himself, then caitlyn comes in to find you two and gasps. okay, so the story that I had remembered was that japanese touhou fans couldn't agree on whether to use the japanese or chinese reading for 紅美鈴 until ZUN announced the correct pronunciation in an interview (and that's why the nickname "china" caught on)

this is the same story that the touhou fandom wiki tells:

okay. unless my translation is wildly off the mark, that's, pretty noticeably, not saying what wikipedia claims it is. let's look at some more actual japanese sources

the pixiv entry on the hong meiling tag quotes the same interview that wikipedia does, claiming that ZUN said "people always say 'China' and the correct themselves to 美鈴, but 'China' is fine." that's not what ZUN says in that interview, but it does seem to be what ZUN said in a Q&A on the old gensou fora (notably, nothing about the actual pronunciation of 美鈴 is mentioned)

the pixiv page goes on to say that for a while, people would call meiling all sorts of things besides her name, including "China," "Kurenai Misuzu†," and "Hon Mirin," but that nowadays this is pretty unpopular

there is also a pixiv page for the name kurenai misuzu itself, which says that the reason people use the japanes name (among a couple other nicknames) is the her correct name, hong meiling (hon meirin) will not immediately convert to the correct kanji. the niconicovideo page on hong meiling mentions something similar

I was not at all able to find any japanese references to debate on 2ch, let alone an archive of such a debate itself

When translating a manga set in China, should we transliterate the names as if they're Japanese kanji or should we assume they're the Chinese pronunciation?

Danny goes on Vacation and leaves his job to his Co-workers

So! Danny hasn't had a break from his Hero Career since the day he turned into a Ghost. He has been constantly fighting battle after battle against his worst enemies one after the other.

Even after joining the Justice League, he didn't really have a chance to take a break. He never really asked for help because it didn't seem like a big enough deal to bother them with. He just kept on working.

Until the day he accidently mentioned this to one of his Co-workers, and they practically Force him to take a Vacation.

He has been fighting Crime, nearly every single day since he was 14, with at most a day or two in between battles for all that time, and he is now entering his 20's. They are horrified that he never asked them for help, no matter how easy the job may have been.

After a while of convincing him, they eventually get him to agree to tale a Month-Long Vacation.

He actually gets really excited after he agrees, and he is planning on exploring deep space for the entire month. He is actually really looking forwards to it now, and seeing this everyone who volunteered to take over his Patrols all promise that they will absolutely not bother him until the trip is done.

So, Danny leaves for his Vacation and the other Heroes set up shop in Amity Park.

Danny left them instructions on how to deal with Ghosts, how to pacify specific Rogues, and how to sent them back to the Ghost Zone when they are done. They feel like they are fairly well prepared for their Month Long Mission, especially since Danny described it as a very easy job.

Then the first Rogue Attack happened.

The team dispatched there, made up of a few mid-level JLA Members and some JLD Members for safe measure, takes nearly an Hour to defeat the Ghost. And they barely manage it.

They are surprised at how hard it is, but are even more surprised when they find out that the "Box Ghost" is labeled as a Low-Level Nuisance.

So, they call in a few higher level members to help. They do not want to interrupt Danny's Vacation.

Then they have to call in more JLA members, and again, and again.

By the time Danny managed to get back from his Vacation, the Founding Members and all JLD have been called in.

He thanks then for the opportunity to finally have a break.

Danny: Seriously, thanks guys. This was the best break I've had in years.

JLA: *out of breath and haggard* yeah dude...no problem...let me just sit down for a minute...whew!

Danny: Oh, I can't wait for the next time I can go on vacation!
