sorry for rambling again but cannot stop thinking abt 3.0 trailer. endlessly fascinated by how excited people familiar with hi3 are with elysia and kevin and what a big deal they apparently are when before this dropped the only hi3 character id seen (aside from the main white hair girl) was someone called mobius apparently

also looked at the 13 flamebringers and went WAIT I REMEMBER LOOKING UP THIS GUY BEFORE BC I LIKED HIS DESIGN (kosma) and hes one of the 4 characters we only got a sihlouette of like. how dare you do that to me why could we not see what his expy will look like like idfk which of these he'll end up being

anyways with a bunch of people saying how much that one guy from the hsr 3.0 trailer looks like gilgamesh, im wondering again which characters will be added for the hsr x fate collab next year. like i havent seen ubw in years but isnt gil like.. barely even there. i feel like he was more prominent in /zero. illya also doesnt really have a huge role but i think its big enough + itd be weird if they skipped her and berserker with how clara and svarog are a huge nod to them. archer seems a given but my bets are on saber bc shes the face of the series, but id also like it if they chose to include cu as well

Chrysos Heirs

people who play both hi3 and hsr are WINNING rn

anyway. i've determined likely flamechaser parallels for a majority of the chrysos heirs. most of them do not actually look like their flamechaser counterparts, which makes me think they're not direct expies but merely parallels.

I also sprinkled some minor analysis of what little lore we have on these guys. Amphoreus is massively inspired by greek mythology.

Aglaea = Eden (both associated with gold)

Eden owned the Elysian Realm previously, but at that time it was called the Golden Courtyard

Eden is also called the Bearer of the Gold Signet

Aglaea is called the Goldweaver

You're not going to believe this-- Aglaea is named after the Charis called Aglaea.

The mythological Aglaea basically runs errands for Aphrodite, which would explain why HSR Aglaea bears the Coreflame of Romance.

HSR Aglaea is from the city of Okhema. In greek thought (plato I think?), Okhema is an intermediary between the body and the soul. I did as much research as I could and the best I could figure out is "it carries the soul through rebirth". SORRY IF THAT'S WRONG-

HSR Aglaea has the "divine authority of mnestia". After lots of research, I think mnestia can be loosely translated to Remembrance, so perhaps that's the Amphorean way of saying she's a pathstrider of Remembrance?

Aglaea's drip marketing references the myth of Prometheus, where Prometheus stole fire from the gods and returned/gave it to humanity.

Tribbie = Vill-V (multiple 'selves')

Tribbie is called the "three-faced messenger"

We see Tribbie adopt multiple personas in the video. She can even take multiple forms at once

Vill-V has partitioned her personality into 8 different segments

Anaxa = Su (both associated with knowledge/enlightenment)

Anaxa is said to have "enough knowledge to refute faith, and to stir up a torrent capable of slaying gods."

Su is called the Enlightened of Bodhi, Enlightened One, and other similar titles.

These two have lots of physical similarity

Anaxa's namesake has some interesting connections with Nous actually

Hyacine = Griseo (both Asleep)

In the video, when Hyacine is on-screen it says "let the sky become the slumbering cot from which she wakes".

Due to the 8th Honkai Eruption, Griseo fell into a deep sleep.

Could be named after Hyacinthus

Mydei = Kalpas (fire in battle)

In the video, Mydei is seen in a post-battle poise surrounded by fire.

Kalpas is constantly surrounded by fire during battle.

Both characters constantly seek out fighting/strife.

Mydei is likely related to the greek god Deimos

One of the unnamed people has a mask too though, but these guys are too similar in aesthetic and personality

Yeah they're both related to deliverance. They literally outright said deliverance in the video, and Kevin bears the Deliverance Signet.

Also they look EXACTLY THE SAME

In mythology, Phainon is the star of Cronus/Saturn (cuz they thought saturn was a star)

Cyrene = Elysia (...COME ON.)

They look identical and have almost the exact same personality

i have yet to figure out the two unnamed ones, Hysilens, and Cerydra. nor can i find their name origins... the closest i found, after ages of digging, is this for Hysilens

the remaining flame-chasers are Kosma, Sakura, Fu Hua, and Mobius. only one of the unknown people seems to be male ("unknown 2"), so that one's probably Kosma.

And yeah that's the culmination of me losing my mind for the past 6 hours. lucky you, you didn't have to watch me try and fail to decipher what the 12 titans might be connected to. (greek titans, 12 olympians, and HSR aeons all didn't line up easily waaaaaa)

However, the assassin retreats when seeing the lack of movement and upon hearing the Galaxy Ranger appearing. Her words are what lets the Apostle open her eyes at last.

Blood spills, but so does the Aeon of Origin’s every single day for every single living being out there. Can she truly care for the blood spilled when her beginning (her ego) will always return to the state it’s always been? She is the stasis of life, always beginning and stuck in its true essence, the ego will not be killed for it will exist perpetually: you are resilience, you survive every single hit and Mobius’ experiments make you a monster of reincarnation, death fears you and death wants you as its bride. Zarina Sokolova has long lost the humanity within, operating on the pressure of discipline and the single pristine promise she gave to a smiling and all-loving existence. Only because there is hope does she fight, wanting to keep the light of life going and to bring in fresh flowers into the gardens of Origin. 

A rough cough comes out, hard and wet as she spits out blood onto the floor. The sound of metal clanking against the floor is echoing in the room, a metal spear thrown to impale her from another place. It grazed her, cutting through the fabric of her shirt and splitting apart the porcelain (flawless) skin, spilling the droplets of scarlet onto the floor before the next bullet pierced her shoulder. The bullet’s been clean through her body, now residing within the wall behind with a splatter of red. 

A beautiful picture of murder, but the only sacrifice for this moment is the clothes she wore. The fabric is stained with red but there are no longer injuries. If anything, her skin is once again flawless when she lets her hand trace where the deep cut on her side had been as if it’s magically disappeared. As long as Ego persists, it will continue to exist and live on. This is her blessing of Origin, but what would it be for Acheron?

All blood has turned into that thin layer of ice before melting and turning into nothing. As if nothing happened. 

Do you recognize the energy, [Galaxy Ranger]? Do you remember the Heaven’s Winter Cloak blade - The Fifth, the [Frost]?

“Worry not, it’s not the first time someone wishes death upon me,” there is a hint of a smile, a hunt begins and it depends if the ranger wants in or not. “It’s a shame the concept of [end] can’t meet me yet. What about you, miss? It seems you’re lost, this place is closed to many individuals.”

one other thing anon missed about haitham expy is that haitham has peacock motifs as a design which is a dead giveaway

for context, theres a surgery in honkai called mantis surgery which basically genetically modified human with the genetic code of a honkai beast making them basically a super soldier.

the honkai beast su received is mahamayuri, its strongly implied to be a peacock. theres a term called metamorph overload, a mode mantis surgery can undergo, basically almost turning them to a honkai beast with chances of them losing awareness. su undergo this mode once when fighting mobius who went out of control after she revived from the dead. sakura then told mei she walked in and saw su in his peacock looking metamorph overload fighting mobius.

i cannot stress how people can still deny haitham is an expy when the design motif is already a dead giveaway.

I actually didn't know much about Alhaitham even at face value and had only heard from hearsays of his peacock motif *looking at model* I'm not very knowledgeable with symbolisms but the fact that Su has history with said animal makes this quite reasonable...

But Kaeya has the peacock constellation hmm I wonder if they'll even mention that symbol when Alhaitham's released. But the surgery backstory and the Mobius fight sounded really cool, thank you for informing me, anon!

We can be heroes

This episode has proven that Loki has always been his own worst enemy. We see that even at the end of the universe Lokis can escape Alioth but they still keep betraying each other. Eventually they just destroy all they built just to feel like they are the superior one. It's always "why are you the king" and "I should be a one". We can see how much show Loki changed in how little time he has for it. He’s no longer interested in being the Supreme Loki. He has to go find Sylvie and help her realise her plan.

She is the one who made him realise this is not all Lokis are destined to be. Thor said to the main MCU Loki they can change and be something more. And Mobius said they can be even someone good. But she is a walking proof of it.

A lot was said about dealing with the post-colonialism in Thor 3 and Asgardians facing their past but I haven't seen much about how Loki is the product of it's propaganda. He was told his whole life the Jotuns are evil monsters and then he learns not only that he is one but that even they didn't want him. The internalised hate and their rejection just makes him hate them more.

And it makes him want the approval of the Asgardians - the dominant civilisation - even more (he's kind of a reverse of Moses). He wants to be the best of them. And he despises all the ones they consider lesser even more than they do (including humans). So conquering humans is in a way an ultimate Asgardian move on his part. It's easier for Thor to let go of this because Thor is Asgardian no matter what but who is Loki if he doesn't observe the traditions?

Combined with feeling inferior because Thor was walking ideal of Asgardian and Odin's disappointment it all make him act out and finally boil over into full evil. Hurting people and destroying all the relationships until he was left with nothing and he told himself he liked it.

Helping Thor destroy Asgard and still being accepted as one of it's people is part of letting go of the most toxic part of that culture. Something Hela wasn't able to do but Loki could because he realised what really mattered was the people. Or at least his brother. That at least his family always thought he was one of them. They were just as bad at showing it as he was at accepting it.

He was raised primed for self-hatred but his refusal to accept any help made him narcissist who took all his frustrations on others. Show Loki already understood that all it got him was loosing his family and his people. He can't take that back but he can do better from now on and do it right for Sylvie.

Sylvie was raised different. She was told she was adopted. She didn't have the self hatred they grew up with and wanted to be a Valkyrie. I've seen people saying that her Nexus event was that she was set to become a hero and this episode made me almost certain that it was.

I was to say it last week but the post was already too long (as this is getting) and I forgot but like Old Loki says - the Loki's can turn good but TVA enforces their death then. The main MCU Loki never had a chance to fully realise this freedom once he bettered himself Thanos took him out. Sylvie was the one who got away and she became different.

I said I was pretty sure that the Nexus event Sylvie and Loki created wasn't about falling in love and this episode has pretty much confirmed that. It was show Loki believing a Loki can be a hero. And making Sylvie believe herself to be one. They basically supported each other into becoming more and better and all that Loki are not supposed to be and what TVA has been always stopping them from becoming.

I've seen people complaining that Loki is a sidekick in his own show but that is the point. He is the viewpoint character but Sylvie is the hero - she has the drive, the purpose and the ideas how to achieve it. Loki is there to help her achieve it so she doesn't do it alone. This is the whole point and the lesson he had to learn. Supporting someone in saving the world is also a glorious purpose.

This is how main MCU Loki has found his redemption - helping his brother save the day and then saving him from Thanos. I said last week I think Sylvie is an expy of Thor and this support in saving the universe and we see this mirroring in this choice again. (I also said Mobius is the - much better - expy of Odin and nothing shows how much this Loki has grown than Mobius joking that Sylvie is his favourite one and Loki not caring - he still supports them both). And the version of Loki who hid behind another illusion to survive Thanos has done it again in another big sacrifice.

I like how in the final scene when they go to face Alioth Loki stand behind Sylvie. And then makes a decision to use himself as a bait so she can achieve her goal. And then run to stand in front of her when Alioth attacks. All this is pure hero stuff. It's leaving behind the selfish glory for the real glorious purpose. So it matters when Sylvie grabs his hand so they stand together equal and share the magic to win this battle. Because heroes work together. The dictators always have to look for a knife in the back. But heroes don't stand alone. And there can be more than one.

I said it last week and I say it again. The Lokis are not destined to be evil. Their powers are coded that way but we see both Old Loki and Sylvie use their magic to save the day. Even the laugh and the glorious purpose take another meaning when it's about saving others not own glory. The heroism is in choice not in destiny. And taking away choice is what makes TVA evil.

No, not really… if anything he has more Mobius or MEI’s personality— the very smart kinda cutthroat type? Except MEI is also a huge romantic deep down and Mobius has a much more playful side to her. Not Nagamitsu either… she smiles too much…

Kevin’s personality is depression and he sometimes struggles with complex concepts (never graduated), that’s very unlike Al-Haitham. And of course Su is a empathetic, compassionate and kind guy, so a really bad fit too.

As someone who plays both games I think him being an expy is massive leaker copium tbh. The hair and eye colors are wrong for Su, the vibes and motifs are completely different, Su is meant to be chinese and Al-Haitham’s from Sumeru… and so on and so forth. I just don’t see it.

If it makes your shipper heart happy that’s fine! But like. Fact is it’s very unfounded.
