TW abuse talk
Hey, remember that era of tumblr when it was completely acceptable and social justice-y to say: let us describe our perfect gay trans nonbinary world which we were going to build, our utopia. What would we do about rapists and abusers you ask? Well we will just kill them! Easy solution!!
#this was circa 2016-2017 and it messed with me#i kept thinking 'but that's not a solution! it's just saying edgy things that make people say 'yeah!' without thinking of the details#and no btw these people weren't terfs....they didn't really like the word queer which is why i didn't use it but they were mostly trans/nb#the idea that only terfs don't like saying queer and think it's a slur is SO new on this website you don't even know#anyway the problem with this argument is people want to counteract it by talking about marginilised men and stuff#when in reality it's ethically wrong to enact this kind of implied vigilante justice on anyone#and arguing that way inadvertantly makes it seem like being assaulted by a marginilised person should affect the victim less somehow#in reality none of this is about caring for victims at all or about prison reform or harm reduction#it's because the people who wrote it can't fathom the idea that anyone who abuses can possibly be helped#btw this was right in the middle of the 'if i have bpd i can't be abusive' toxic waste era#bpd DOESN'T mean you're automtically an abuser and it's a very stigmatised label that some don't even think should be diagnosed at all#but.........there was this idea that anyone who abused is subhuman and should be killed#so it made people really really really want to downplay times when they harmed someone else....for some reason!!!#i am glad these ideas are dying down and hopefully it will encourage people to research abolitionist ideas for themselves#i know that there are serious difficulties helping people who abuse in particular in the sphere of domestic violence#but we HAVE to do better than 'idk kill em!'

Hey, if you have the time. could you write an X-Men 97 Kurt Wagner x reality warper reader who is Magneto's adopted daughter.
Bound by Reality
Kurt Wagner x fem!reader Words: 1,6K A/N: I kind of feel like this sucks, but I hope it's alright anyway
Kurt loves you. That's the most important thing. He doesn't care who your father is or what he's done or how much he himself agrees with it all. He loves you. As long as you love him, that's all that matters to him.
Your power is the most fascinating thing for Kurt. Admittedly, he was quite skeptical at first. He is an acrobat, a fighter and always had to be able to rely on his senses. Especially when you met on the battlefield and on opposite sides, he was initially very wary of you and your powers.
But now, especially after you got together, you are a true miracle for him.
Sometimes you lie together in a meadow or in your bed and you alter little things, not much and it doesn't cost you much, but each time he is thrilled anew by your abilities. He's not shy about telling you either.
Every time you give free rein to your skills, be it in battle or otherwise, his legs go weak with affection. You're powerful, you're talented and between you and me, you just look fantastic doing it. Kurt could watch you use your skills all day, he wouldn't get tired of it.
However, as wonderful as he thinks your abilities are, he sometimes curses them all the more. Using your abilities, especially on a large scale, usually has severe consequences for you. Both your mental and physical strength are stretched to the limit and it is not uncommon for him to catch you at the last moment to prevent you from hitting the ground.
Should you be that vulnerable or hurt, Kurt becomes quite protective. You are one of the most important things in his life and he will protect you with his life if he has to.
Kurt is incredibly happy when you get on well with Rogue, as you are both equally important to him. However, you both have a habit of conspiring against him and he always gets the short end of the stick.
He also gets on quite well with your adoptive siblings. Admittedly, they didn't make it easy for him at first, but Kurt was quite persistent and got all three of them on his side.
You yourself had tried to delay the meeting between Kurt and your father as much as possible, which wasn't because you were embarrassed by Kurt. You loved him more than anything and you were pretty sure that wasn't going to change any time soon. The problem was your father. You were pretty sure that he would accept Kurt in the end, but you knew your father well and knew that he could be more than a little protective, especially when it came to his children.
"Liebling,“ Kurt murmured, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind as his tail wrapped around her legs. "Calm down. You're walking a hole in our carpet." She sighed as her boyfriend spread light kisses over her neck.
"You know my father, you know how he is. He's never approved of any of my relationships and I really want him to like you." Kurt leaned forward so his mouth hovered over her ear. "Will his decision change anything about us?"
She spun around and looked up at him a little indignantly. "Of course not!" A slight smirk came to his lips and he pulled her closer to him by the waist. "Then I don't see what you're so worried about." Before she could protest, he quickly placed his lips on hers, successfully silencing her.
She didn't respond at first, but then gave in with a sigh and returned the kiss, which Kurt deepened all too briefly.
He couldn't hold her in his arms for long, however, as the doorbell rang and she broke away from him, despite his protesting whimpers. She gave him one last look, half warning, half amused, before opening the door. "Dad!"
She threw her arms around his neck and Kurt could see a warm smile on Magneto's lips as he hugged his daughter. "My love." He released himself from her arms, very gently, and stroked her cheek tenderly, a loving look in his eyes. "Am I mistaken or are you becoming more beautiful with each passing day?"
Kurt could see in his mind's eye how she blushed and smiled sheepishly.
"You're exaggerating." Father and daughter exchanged words for a few moments before his gaze wandered over to Kurt. His smile disappeared in an instant and his expression became cold and distant, his hand pressed against his daughter's back. Kurt understood at that moment why she was so worried. That look alone was enough to kill him. Still, he put on his most charming smile and stepped towards him, hand outstretched as he did his best to suppress the nervous lashing of his tail. "Dad, this is Kurt Wagner, my boyfriend. I told you about him," she pressed, and after looking at Kurt for a few moments, he squeezed his hand.
It was a firm squeeze and Kurt was sure he was trying to break his hand, but he kept smiling. "I'm really pleased to meet you, sir." Magneto let go of his hand and looked at him skeptically for a moment.
"A bit bluer and furrier than the last one, eh?" She stepped forward and wrapped a hand around Kurt's arm, a forced smile on her lips. "Well, my taste has definitely improved."
The next hour was absolute torture for everyone involved—at least, that’s how Kurt felt. As she tensely tried to spark a conversation between Kurt and her father, Magneto's piercing gaze seemed to slice through Kurt. Kurt was fairly certain that this man disliked him on principle, which was a significant problem, because Kurt was pretty much in love with his daughter and had no intention of leaving her. "Darling," Magneto suddenly spoke up, but didn't take his eyes off Kurt felt like he was shrinking into the sofa cushions under that relentless stare. "Would you do me a favor and get me another drink?" Her gaze fluttered to Kurt, who tried to subtly shake his head in protest. She stood up, nodding.
"Sure," she replied, though her voice wavered slightly, betraying her uncertainty. She glanced back at Kurt, worry evident in her eyes. "Please don't kill him while I'm gone," she added, attempting to lighten the mood with a nervous chuckle.
He didn't answer, and Kurt didn't like the look Magneto gave him. The tension in the room grew worse and colder once she left, the door closing softly behind her. As soon as she was out of earshot, Magneto leaned forward, his eyes narrowing. One of the spoons on the table flew into the air, spinning slowly between them.
"So you think you deserve my daughter," Magneto said, his voice low and menacing. Kurt's eyes were fixed on the spinning spoon, his mind racing. He knew that with enough force and speed, even the bluntest object could be lethal. He swallowed hard, trying to steady his nerves.
"I wouldn't say I deserved her," Kurt began, his voice steady despite the fear gnawing at him. "I love her and she decided to give me a chance. Something she hasn't regretted yet."
Magneto's gaze narrowed. "'Not yet?' I really hope for your sake that she won't regret it in the future." Kurt swallowed and raised his hands. "Of course not. I just meant..."
"Hurt my little little girl," Magneto interrupted, his voice dangerously low, "and I'll make sure not even your god will help you."
"I..."
"I told her to stop dating, but as usual, she didn't listen to me," Magneto continued, cutting Kurt off again. Kurt didn't know where his sudden surge of confidence came from, but he found himself speaking up. "Maybe you should learn to take a step back from your daughter's life." The air in the room seemed to crackle with tension. Magneto's eyes flashed with a mixture of surprise and anger, and for a moment, Kurt wondered if he had pushed too far. The silence stretched uncomfortably long, filled only with the soft hum of electricity from Magneto's control over the metallic objects in the room.
Magneto paused and looked at him, his face a mask of emotionlessness. "What was that?" Kurt, however, didn't let it get him down and returned his gaze with unwavering resolve. "Your daughter is an incredible woman—confident, independent, strong, intelligent. She doesn't need your permission to be in a relationship. You're her father. It's your job to support her, protect her when necessary, and be there for her. It's not your job to intrude on her happiness or make her feel bad just because you don't like me. If I ever hurt her, you can do whatever you want to me. But until then, just let us be happy and back off."
Magneto stared at him, and Kurt was pretty sure he was going to be stabbed with a teaspoon at any moment. The room was silent, Magneto's expression unreadable as he processed Kurt's words. Kurt could feel his heart pounding, each beat echoing in his ears. He had put everything on the line, knowing that one wrong move could spell disaster. Then something unexpected happened: Magneto chuckled and leaned back. "I've got to hand it to you, Elf, you know how to stand your ground."
Kurt didn't know what to say to that and just stared at him in shock. Just then, she returned with Magneto's drink, her eyes flicking between the two men. She handed it to her father and sat back down next to Kurt, her hand finding his and squeezing it reassuringly. Magneto took the drink, his gaze softening slightly as he looked at his daughter. She raised her eyebrow at that. "What did you do?" "Nothing," Magneto replied, a hint of amusement in his voice. "Kurt just proved to me that your taste has indeed improved, my dear."

Hope you’re doing great!! I’m obsessed with your writing. What do you think Bully!Tsukishima would act if someone else tries to bully his crybaby?
~ Anon ❄️
i'm good thank you!! i hope you're well too! i hope you enjoy how bully tsukki reacts <3
it never even crossed his mind that someone else might try and bully you and if it did it was fleetingly and on occasions when he heard someone laugh at something he did to you, the thought didn't bother him. in his eyes it doesn't matter, if someone did start teasing you then that's your problem, it doesn't affect him.
although it really does.
when it actually does happen properly and he realises someone is genuinely bothering you it then becomes a reality and he has to deal with it.
you never hid that someone else was upsetting you and teasing you, tsukishima would never care about it anyway. coincidentally he found you one day taking deep breaths and sniffling as you're trying to breathe correctly after being tormented by someone who has started bullying you and they were crueller than anyone you've ever met before.
tsukki never thought he'd see the day where he would see you cry and not take some amount of pleasure in it but seeing you desperately try to calm down from something he didn't know about filled him with serious dread. something he has never felt so strongly before.
he crouches down to your level to where you were sitting and you jump not realising he was there in the first place. he frowns and tilts your head up so he can look at you and wipe the tears off of your face with his thumb but the tears just keep coming. "talk to me princess," he says gruffly.
you shake your head vehemently.
tsukishima clenches his jaw at what he believes is your ridiculous behaviour. "don't be a baby, talk to me."
"you won't care," you reply quietly.
"won't care about what?" if you were anyone else he'd likely have lost interest in trying to help someone so stubborn by now but you're you. if people don't want to accept his help and keep refusing to cooperate with him the majority of the time he stops trying to help, the only real exemptions are his brother and yamaguchi but even they know better than to test tsukishima's patience on this kind of thing.
"someone's being mean to me," you say while trying to stop crying.
tsukishima scoffs. "so what?" he pauses for a second before continuing, "is this why you're in here hiding away? so what if someone is being mean taking away your pen and you cry your eyes out."
you shake your head again but meekly this time, "they're being really mean tsukishima." he doesn't say anything and just looks at you. because of his gaze on you you feel his scrutiny so you come clean completely and tell him, "they're bullying me."
tsukishima just goes completely still because no one else can treat you like that. no one else can make you cry, at least not over something so serious, not over something that really upsets and affects you. not if that person or persons are bullying you. you're his, only he is allowed to do that to you. no one should make you cry. he can accept you crying if you thought someone looked at you funny or took a belonging of yours or teased you a little because you cry all the time, but this? he's not having this.
he wets his lips and looks up, taking a deep breath and trying to stop his anger from rising to the top. he's not an angry person, no one ever would assume he was an angry person and they'd be right, he's not and he never thought he would be but the idea of someone bullying you, the idea that someone is being really mean to you, that pisses him off because its not like before when he thought you where overreacting like the crybaby you are about someone mildly teasing you on one occasion, this is serious. "who?"
"does it really matter?" you fiddle with your fingers, finally calming down a bit and having less tears flowing down your chubby cheeks.
"yes, it matters."
you tell him their name and tsukishima notes it to memory.
tsukishima kisses your forehead and lifts you up, resisting the urge to kneed your soft wide hips as you stand up. "come on, lets get you something to eat and drink." it's extremely rare that tsukishima ever is seen with you in public alone but he takes you to a vending machine outside in campus.
you think he did this because it's quieter out here so there's less people and less people to recognise the two of you together but in actuality it was the closet place from where you were and he wanted you to drink something as soon as possible with how much you were crying. he's never seen you cry that much and that's saying something, the man who gets off on seeing you and making you cry not ever able to make you cry as you just have been... (yet)
that person never bothers you again. not once. why? you don't know but you're guessing tsukishima had something to do with it.
the thing with tsukishima is that he is actually very popular and is friends with people that are also popular so one bad word about someone spreads like wildfire. there are so many rumours about him in just one day it's crazy, that's when tsukishima decides to have his own private conversation with them. "your social life is a wreck your club is thinking about kicking you off the team because of all those allegations. they might be fake but really who would they believe out of the two of us? you bother my girl again, i'll make it worse. if you even talk to her or look at her i'll make sure these rumours follow you for the rest of your life."
no one talks to your bully any more but tsukishima kept his promise to not make even more extreme rumours. after he was kicked off his basketball team he was content. he'd never done anything like this before because it's not like him at all it's not in his character. so he doubts he'll ever do it again... that is unless someone else tries to bully you. they need to learn their place after all. don't touch things that aren't yours to touch.

WTF Steve
If you're not interested in the umbrella academy and worldbuilding/continuity or you want to avoid spoilers, skip this:
So, let's list the number of things that are just plain wrong:
-Luther had the gorilla's body because he had an accident. It was unrelated to Marigold, he was super strong, the simian body was to save his life. Without the saving his life, he should get just super strong.
-The umbrella academy are just the babies that Reginald bought. There were 43 of them in total. That's why Lila, not part of the original family, also had powers, she was one of these 43 babies. They all also had Marigold. If all particles are needed, you'd need these too.
-If you make people erased from history and all timelines, by default their children will also be erased from history and all the timelines. You cannot save them if you want to be erased afterwards.
-Allison had white creepy eyes when using her powers, not yellow. Also she wasn't telekinetic, she could manipulate people so they'd do what she wanted, or maybe she was reality-bending, but then reality would need to bend, it's not telekinesis.
-Viktor had white or pale blue coloured auras and powers, not yellow.
-If 5 was trying to prevent the world ending by creating the agency, this contradicts the agency being ok with the timeline where the world ends.
-If their powers got bigger somehow, Lila's laser eyes or Klaus flying makes also no fucking sense, power-wise.
-Who fucks with the timeline and the universe is Reginald, that's the problem right there. Alternatively, 5. Or alternatively, any person that, affected by the Marigold, has learned to time-travel. So only these are needed to be removed.
-Either there's Marigold in every timeline and then you cannot just mix it in one to solve the issue, or there's only Marigold in one timeline and then the rest of timelines cannot have people with superpowers.
Things that while not wrong, made no sense:
-Klaus could use his power to make ghost physical as shown in season 2 and 3. No need for possession and he could have made the dog physical.
-Allison's power allow for most plot points to be resolved in 0.5 seconds. She only needs to rumour people so they tell what they know, they help them or similar, and that's it. I know they're not the smartest but really.
-Why was Jennifer inside a squid? Why did she mention the cleanse?
-Why Abigail didn't grab the marigold and, while pretending to be someone else, give it to Jennifer, instead of involving everyone else?
-Why mixing these two particles creates a huge disgusting monster? it should be something more like a nuclear explosion/planet-wide contamination, the monster makes no sense.
-Why in all timelines 5 and Lila were shot at and hunted? This should only apply in some timelines, in others everything is ok, the problem should be to return, but it should be possible to get out and go to places and buy stuff and rest.
-Why Diego doesn't do the cool bullet trick in the rest of moments when people are shooting at them?
-Why Jennifer had the other particles? If the particles exists outside a body, why involve her at all?
-Why Reginald sent them to the Jenniffer mission if he could have done that himself and actually went there too, if touching her could end the world?
-Why people had memories from other timelines? Shouldn't the world-ending thing in s3 be enough to delete all these previous times and memories?
-In this universe there's clearly an afterlife. So, wtf happens when you mix this with timelines? Is the afterlife part of the timeline? In s3 when everything, including apparently other timelines, except the pocket dimension ends, Luther and Klaus are chilling in there, so this is outside. Well, its clear nobody thought too hard about all this, but really?
-5 and Lila. No need for further discussion here. The reasons are abundant, some of them I may disagree with, but it's wrong in general.
-Viktor can remove Marigold, they could have done that and then throw that at Jennifer or remove her particules too.
-Time travel, in general, as 5 and Lila do so effortlessly in one of the dimensions, lets you also fix any issues really.
Things that are just ethically wrong:
-Diego is fit as shit, not fat.
-Where is Sloane in the end? Where is Sissy? Where are all the others that are more important than the fucking Handler?
-Yep, as lots of people commented, if you have trauma the best thing is to stop existing. Your rotten remains may give life to nice-looking flowers! Yay. Great message Steve.
I'm missing other thigns but I'm too mad to keep listing stuff

Somerton's misogyny and lesbophobia was fucking blatant and the fact his fans didn't care / notice until a man made a video on it is abhorrent. That IS a problem, people NEED to do better or else bigotry towards women will only continue to be accepted! Lesbians were calling this loser out for years and no one cared!
hey. as a lesbian who watched somerton's videos you have to understand that it wasn't "fucking blatant" and it was embedded between smart (stolen) points in the structure of the argument, and was given fake "evidence" to prove it --- something hbomberguy specifically shows with every example. i personally always noticed that it was weird and it was always a critical point when watching his videos (and also uh, side note but you shouldn't primarily go to cis white men for good takes about feminism and the lesbian experience anyways --- like, you should be watching a diverse intake of thought from underrepresented creators and understand that the cis/white/male perspective will always be limited because it's not universal)
to many, though, it for sure didn't register as a pattern of behavior until the instances were laid out. saying that audiences were "abhorrent" for "excusing" it just shows a complete lack of sympathy, because again: the pattern of behavior was the problem, and rhetorically each individual instance was relegated to enough plausible deniability where it slipped by most audiences who were probably watching the video in the background while they folded laundry or something. when bigotry is shrouded under the guise of fact, it takes on the affect of truth and abuses the viewer's trust in the creator. sure, media literacy is a huge problem, and i've written and researched so much into that, and yeah yeah audiences should "do better." the reality is though, putting the blame on the audience feels a little misogynistic in itself, bc you're just shifting the blame from the literal people who need to be blamed for practicing bigotry --- cis white men with a large platform.
the real thing u should be saying here is to call for a diversification of one's media intake, but no -- let's blame the audience for getting lied to, instead of uplifting female, queer, trans, poc, etc voices. the only way people "need" to do better, imo, is listening to those people instead and seeking multiple perspectives.
like y'all, let's retire this very new narrative that all james somerton fans were evil misogynists who willingly supported this and need to be destroyed. really most people who watched his content were younger queer people genuinely interested in queer media analysis, film theory, and queer history, probably excited that a long video essay was dedicated to their favorite show/movie/etc, and lets not pretend this wasn't disappointing for them as well. can everyone like chill out.
#hbomberguy#james somerton#like for me personally it was always like. yeah his view is hindered by being a cis white gay man. and when ur a lesbian noncis poc like me#u just kind of accept bigotry like that as inevitable?? fucked up but in that instance u literally just watch fem creators of color instead#DIVERSITY YOUR MEDIA OR DIE!!!!!!!!!! UPLIFT MARGINALIZED VOICES!!!!! STOP BLAMING AUDIENCES FOR BEING DUMB#LITERALLY IF U KNOW ANYTHING ABT MEDIA STUDIES RULE 1 IS AUDIENCES ARE LAZY AND WON'T FACTCHECK#IT'S UP TO CREATORS TO PRESENT THE TRUTH AND UP TO THE LISTENER TO SEEK MULTIPLE PERSPECTIVES

Alastor x Angel reader
FEATHER chapter IV
Tags: fluff (for now ) enemies to lovers, kissing, being protective, cuddles, sleeping problems, flirting, possesive reader is an angel, fem reader
As a young angel, I perceived love as something exceptionally beautiful. I believed that everyone deserves to meet their soulmate and it’s waiting for me too. With the passing decades, my enthusiasm waned. More failed relationships, disappointments. My mother said, 'That's because God has someone special for me. I sought blame in others, later in myself, and my frustration grew. I became bitter, jealous of others happiness, and desperate to kill the feeling of emptiness.
Until I gave up. I accepted loneliness, tried to love myself anew, and embraced the surrounding reality—the "Paradise" from which there was no escape. Hello?! We are in heaven; everyone is happily in love with their loved ones and families.
I found my peace but never stopped wondering if God, in the grand miracle of creation, had perhaps forgotten about my kindred soul.
Unexpectedly, the delicate lips of a sinner, a demon, brushed against mine.
Alastor stepped back, reopening my old wounds. I should only blame myself for playing with fire. When I learned that the radio demon's weakness was closeness and affection I thought getting rid of him and his quirks would be easy.
Tears rolled down my cheeks, he kissed them away, as if they were a cure for the dying.
Soon, I found myself in his arms. There was something in his touch, as if he held an incredibly precious thing, and I surrendered. Even if it's only for tonight.
Jazz music flowed from the demon's enchanted radio
"When I was a child, my mother always told me a bedtime story," Alastor said, adopting a dreamy expression. "Do you maybe like criminals, sweetheart?
It's not a very popular genre in heaven, but I guess hell has plenty of bestsellers." I replied with laughter
His grin expanded.
"Oh, let me tell you a classic. It started in high school, a young man from disgustingly rich family, didn't spare injured birds, lost dogs, and worse, cats roaming on their own paths."
Hearing about young Alastor's first murders gave me shivers and curiosity at the same time. I wanted to know every detail, every motive. To understand what hides behind that smile and piercing gaze
Alastor's POV:
She fell asleep unusually quickly. I wish I could lock her away like a feather in the radio tower, but this time I opted to carry her to bed
I sat beside her and observed with. I could never comprehend addictions until I tried angelic energy. my magic felt to return with every sip from her essence. With clawed hands, I combed through strands of her silvery-white Hair
The memory of her hands tightening on my coat. The sweet-salty taste of tears, though my lips wanted to return to another place. Fuck, I'm really on the edge of madness.
.
.
.
Pixelated smile widened on TV with complete satisfaction.
"The regret will come sooner than you think."
Sorry this chapter is much shorter but i had exams this days. I hope you enjoyed it and are ready for more.
the story is just about to start ☺️✨🔥

Doubting Her Beauty
Pairing: Shirabu Kenjirou x reader
Warning: Angst and Comfort
Note: I made this in a rush before I forget this idea so forgive me if he went out of character. I'll try to fix it tomorrow. Hope you all enjoy!
_____________________________
"Shirabu, your name has gotten famous around the campus again" I heard Reon spoke as I took a drink from my bottle after a brutal training of 8am to 6pm for the upcoming Interhigh.
"Well, Y/n mentioned his name for the third time today, didn't she?" Semi followed suit as I just sighed after hearing her name.
Katsumi Y/n, a long-time admirer of mine ever since we became classmates in our first year of junior high school.
She is a very beautiful woman, no denying that. She was always the school's contender for fashion contests and she mostly won the crown.
A woman who should have a higher standard in men, started to like me for a reason I never knew.
She just like me, that's all.
I can't even count how many times she has confessed to me with the help of her friends.
The confession that became the root of most of the school boy's hatred to me.
One of the reasons why I always hear rumors or dislikes of me.
"Semi deserves the setter position more"
"He has looks but comparing it to the school's countless heartthrob, don't you think he's too average"
"The world is too nice to him"
Those were the words I always hear but none of it really affected me unless I heard it from the person who they thought I hurted.
Semi did show how he is not happy with me taking his position, but he never bad-mouthed me like they did.
And I knew myself better than those students. So I never really cared how many bashers or haters came in my way.
In other words too, I could careless about Y/n's love for me.
Since she already knew how I felt. Love is not my thing and it's her choice if she will continue to pursue me or quit.
And she chose to try swooning my heart. It's laughable on how obvious their envy is, they think I'm turning to be a prideful person because she chose me over many men who like her.
But the truth is, the problem is never me in the first place. It was their jealousy.
One of the obvious reasons why Y/n chose to love me.
I would never stoop that low just to ruin somebody.
Her feeling was the reason why I never degraded myself for anything.
But those reasons never made me love her, but just an appreciation because she showed me too that someone can look at me the same way she did.
Someone can love a person like me.
"Shirabu"
I heard Taichi calling for me and that made me look up to him and saw him glancing at the gym doors, reminding me of the usual routine ever since she entered my life.
I nod before making my way there and saw her carrying a basket of snacks.
She was humming when I arrived before she greeted me the moment our gaze met.
She lent me the small basket along with papers I decided to read.
"I wrote down the lessons that you have missed. I just hope it's not that messy" she said followed by a chuckle as she clasped both of her hands together.
"You don't need to" I muttered before taking the things she brought for me.
"Let me, this is the only thing I thought I could help you with"
A beauty queen with a heart that is hard to read.
Including myself with one of the popular kids is quite a dangerous game to play.
I would never know whether I'm their next target or victim.
Those thoughts were created because I don't trust her.
Not even one bit. No matter how nice she is. No matter how much she shows how special I am.
Because everything feels like it's not reality when I'm talking to her.
She was too good to be true.
I was wary of her, one of the reasons why I can't return her feelings for me no matter how many men wanted me to.
I just don't know her well...
"Thank you again Y/n. I need to head back now, Break ends in a minute" I didn't prolong our conversation more and immediately closed the gym doors when I saw her nod in understanding.
"Eat well, Shirabu!"
Those were the last things I heard from her before I returned back to the bench, along with placing the small basket in the seat.
"I can't see why you can't return those feelings" Tendou exclaimed while muching on the muffins she bought for me as I sighed.
This is a question that I always need to hear everyday, worse, every hour or even minutes.
"I just can't"
"Then are you planning to reject her?"
"Already did"
"Then she is indeed persistent. Do you see yourself loving her even one bit?"
Questions after another, its never ending once begins.
Especially if Tendou is the one asking. No matter how much he enjoys seeing others in pain, that sadistic side of his only applies in the court.
Because the truth was he is the type of person who wants love and recognition from others, so maybe seeing Y/n never giving up on me seems to move his heart a little.
"Do you start to like her, even just one bit?" He repeated his question again in a different word that made me look at him.
"No"
"No?" I don't know if he's playing with me with his shock reaction or plain pure reaction from my answer which he should have expected in the first place.
"What?" I ask him so he can elaborate his reaction better, so I can at least understand what's so shocking about my answer.
"No? Not 'never'? Means there's a chance you would grow feelings for her right?"
I was taken back from his statement that made me bombarded my mind with different thoughts.
"I can't predict the future, right?" Those words left my mouth without further thinking as I heard him laugh.
Since who really know what fate lined up for me after all?
Her constant visit never stops unless she has an upcoming pageant.
Her loss of presence never bothered me much but my teammates constant loud gossiping, especially Tendou who leads those childish actions, did.
But somehow I'm thankful that he's constant nagging never fails me to remind me of her presence.
That's the only way left to show my appreciation to her for being supportive of me.
I cared, but it was never love on my part. Until that constant denying made me look at her like a sister.
Which I know is so wrong in her part when she saw me as a partner.
I sighed in annoyance after the awarding for qualifying for the interhigh tournament. My sigh caught the attention of my teammates.
"Oh someone is sad that their number one fan didn't show up?" Tendou started as I shook my head in denial.
"That's not it"
For real.
The reason why I'm so annoyed was because I'm confused of one thing.
I'm confused because I can't understand my feelings for her.
Others might think that I shouldn't think much about it since I don't love her and I already rejected her.
But damn, I really cared about other people's feelings too. Because I knew how hard it is when all their efforts go in vain.
I don't want to be the reason of someone else's tears.
It was already heavy when Semi decided to hid his from the eyes of others.
The more I think of her, the more I feel like I'm going crazy from thinking how to make it less painful.
I can't tolerate another heartbreak because I entered the picture.
But who would understand when I, myself is having a hard time.
I don't love her...
Until that night happened, a week after getting the ticket to the Nationals.
The late night that I saw her leaning on the gym walls, waiting for me.
Looking so lost like she didn't even hear me.
"Y/n? Why are you still here this late?" I didn't wait for her own greetings and just directly got to the point since the atmosphere is already cold now that the moon is shining brightly above us.
Especially when she has a home to return at, since she doesn't live in the school's dormitory like me.
"You're finally here" I barely got to hear her when she let it out in a murmur.
"Would you mind accompanying me to dinner?" She finally decided to ask me that made me glance at my wrist to look at my watch and saw it was already near 10 at night.
Dinner, at this hour?
Those were the words I wanted to ask her but decided not to and just let her lead the way to a restaurant where she wants to eat.
Walking behind her, I saw how her body, who was already thin, seems to be thinner.
I glance at the back of her head, contemplating whether to ask her or just let it be.
Since it feels like she just wants someone to accompany her right now.
We arrive at a restaurant and that's the only time she looks back at me to ask if we can be in one of the private rooms where there are tatami floors.
And again, I didn't question further.
The entire room is silent as I didn't bother speaking up first. A few minutes later, the food finally arrived and I saw how the table seemed to be almost full.
I thanked the waiter before we prayed for the food.
"Don't mind my appetite right now" she started with a small smile before I nod and just gave her some chopsticks.
I just watched her eat as I didn't bother taking food for myself since I already ate a while ago.
"Congratulations for still being the Top 2 from the pageant" I started and saw how her lips lifted in a small smile.
"Right..." She breathlessly whispered as she let down the food she was about to eat.
"That was already good enough"
"Right?"
Her question surprised me as I saw how tears build up on her eyes.
"Of course it is" that's the time I decided to put my entire attention on her.
I didn't know my voice could be softer than before. Especially when talking to a lady.
"Then why..." She trailed off as she prevented herself from letting her tears escape from her eyes.
"Why does it seem like it's not?" That's the first time she properly looks me in the eye like she is asking me.
"Why did she hate me for it? Why did it seem like I didn't even try in the first place?"
I didn't find the right words to tell her as I let her rant her feelings out.
This is the first time I would get to see who she truly was.
"Why does it feel like the whole world hates me for losing?" She sobbed out as tears finally left her eyes.
"Blessed with beauty but never fated to be with genuine people"
"Why is the world so cruel to me?"
I felt my hand move on its record as my fingers gently wiped the tears that started to stain her cheeks.
"How can you say that?" I gently asked her, my composure finally broke when the girl who boldly declared her love for me...
Is breaking in front of me.
"My mother scolded me for not winning the pageant. She told me I should have already gotten used to it because of my consecutive wins. But I messed up at this one" she exclaimed as I retrieve my hand so she can wipe her own tears.
"She told me that I focused too much on seducing you that I forgot my role in our world. Yet it's hard to say that I only do those things for you because you are letting me to" she lowered her head as her sobs never stop.
"The only person who let me express my own feelings without judging me. That person I could run to even if there's nothing between the two of us."
I silently listened to her words and can't even admit that I doubted her actions for me.
Am I wrong for it?
"You have friends. You can run to them, seek the comfort and assurance you need" My words seem to hit something on her as she just started laughing with the hint of bitterness present on it.
"Friends? You meant those people who laughed behind my back because I failed?" She focused her gaze on me and I saw the pain on it that made my chest tighten.
"The same friends who spread rumors behind my back then act like they are defending me?" She laughed before wiping her tears.
"The same people who stood beside me just to see me fail" she cried as her smile finally disappeared from her lips as I just looked at her figure.
I stood up before I decided to sit beside her so I could offer my shoulder to her which she gladly leaned on as she gazed at the moon through the window of the room.
"It is so tiring pretending to be happy" she whispered as I looked at her.
"How can I know that if someone is genuine towards me? Someone who would be happy just being with who I truly am?"
She ask while looking far away. Completely clueless on who are the true friends.
And I can't suppressed the ache in my chest seeing how she look so lost in this world.
Why didn't the world treat her right?
"When those people start to appreciate who you are, the 'you' who is already enough. Take care of you, assure you, support you, and accept you" I continued as I felt her lean more in my shoulder that made me put my hand on the side of her head so she won't fall.
"Do I deserve that?"
Her question almost broke the soft part in me that made me clench my eyes shut before letting out a sigh.
"No person should be deprived of that"
Silence surrounds both of our presence as I felt her touch my hand.
"Did you find those right ones? Where you feel like you belong?"
"I did" I told her as I remembered the volleyball team. Even though we are not close like the other teams, the team still makes me contented.
"What does Shirabu think of me" she finally asked me the question I can't answer.
Especially when I am one of the people who doubted her, judge her. The only difference between me and those people was I never treated her wrong.
But does that make me the right person to be with her right now?
"I won't blame you if you doubted my feelings" she spoke up before she decided to finally face the table, as she properly wiped her tears.
"In this world, finding a genuine person is really difficult" she lifted a small smile before turning her to look at me.
"But I really like you. At this moment, I feel like I admire you more" she took a hold of her chopstick and began playing with the food that was on her plate.
"Why?" I asked her and her smile grew more than I really saw how genuine her happiness is right now.
"Because you accompany me. Agree with my invitation without further thinking because you know I needed someone with me." Her tone was full of contentment as she looked down.
"I am glad that you are the man I fell in love with"
My heart warmed at her words and unknowingly, a small smile lifted from my lips.
Right now, being with her doesn't feel wrong at all.
Somehow, I felt glad that I was the first person she ran to. Even though there is no connection between the two of us, other than her feelings.
Right now I feel like it's okay to finally stop denying. Stop making excuses that became a hindrance to my feelings for her.
I see her more than an admirer. I see her as a woman who chose to love me, even without seeing the good side of me.
Even if I'm not giving any effort yet, she chose to cherish me.
I didn't notice the way I looked at her with a small smile on my lips as I watched her eat to her heart's desire.
I guess it's my turn to treat her right.
Because she chose to love me.
And I'm confident...
That I can treat her better than anyone else.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mark Hoffman and Peter Strahm two investigators on the same case to find and kill the Jigsaw successor to bring an end to the game.
A task that proved more difficult by the second, by the day and by the week. They had both already lost good colleagues and longtime friends to the deadly traps.
They both wanted all the more to pursue their target, which Agent Strahm knew was closer than he would have liked. Hoffman knew that his colleague and enemy would eventually find out.
But this rivalry between them had one thing in common between the taunts and suspicions. In addition to the affection, there was a woman, a young detective, who had stolen their hearts.
First employed as a young policewoman under Hoffman as his team, she was the only one to survive alongside Hoffman. Whenever she was sent to a place by her department leader, she was never hurt. Nothing had happened to her, not even a scratch.
But after he no longer had a department and she was the only one left, the two seemed to become partners. Her initial naivety turned into mistrust and fear. Emotions he wanted to see in her - he knew that her heart beat for him.
Ever since he had seen his beloved walk into the department as a beginner, he knew they were meant to be together. As the new Jigsaw, he decided on lives, so he should also decide on her life.
He knew how scared she was of the traps, everyone was scared of the traps. ,,I won't let him hurt you...I promise sugar" he had told her after he had found her dissolved in her office. She usually smiled at the nickname and had even blushed when he had approached her. But now it was different.
He saw how she had looked at the photos of her colleagues and missed them. But those sweet gentle touches were cold because she couldn't know how much he lusted after her. That when she tried to suppress her tears, she only felt more helpless and embarrassed.
But he saw that all he had to do was control her a little more, that he finally wanted her for himself. It would be his reward. ,,They-are all-" she didn't finish the sentence and hid her face in her hands. She didn't want to face reality and yet the only thing she had left was Hoffman.
But he achieved what he wanted when he leaned down and gently removed her hands from her face and their eyes met. ,,Shhh I told you I'm always with you and I always will be," he said calmly and his words hit where they should. The flip of a coin equaled this because he was always with her and always would be.
,,Mark," she sniffled and her trembling hands lay in his larger ones, her warmth meeting his cold. He stroked her hands and then wiped away her tear with his thumb. So fragile and beautiful, he would have liked to tell her, but he knew there was a problem.
She would never be completely his if there was still Agent Peter Strahm. Instead, their eyes met again, her glassy eyes meeting his obsessive ones. Instead, he ventured forward, not waiting for her, and kissed her.
Finally kissed her after such a long time he had doted on her. He had finally been able to taste her. Her lips warm and soft, her sweetness and the saltiness of her tears.
He could feel how she seemed surprised at first, not knowing what was happening before she clung to him. Pulled him closer and returned the kiss. She held on to him tightly, he was the only one she needed. He was convinced that he was the only one she needed.
It was that kiss in her office that brought them together and they seemed to go from being colleagues to partners to a couple. That's how it looked at first because it was her conscience that got in his way.
As much as she loved him, her sense of justice and after the murders were something that separated her from him. The more he approached her, the more she seemed to try to fly.
And yet at the end of the day, when she lay in her bed and heard the lock to her apartment open late at night, she always let him. Always let his soothing, manipulative, controlling words get to her.
Let him into her bedroom and let him take her again and again. His hands roaming over her body, his words of praise in her head that was clouded with lust when they slept together. She overlooked the hint of brutality when he took her down.
She started to cry when he took her and it felt so good at the same time. His voice, his gaze, the blood on her body, his body desiring hers. She would whimper when she felt the cool metal of his weapon on her lips. And yet.
And yet every time she licked the gun, she saw his excited expression and the satisfied grin when he grabbed her by the neck and pulled her towards him to kiss her again. The fact that the gun could be fired at any time was of no interest to anyone.
The only thing they needed was each other and nothing more. At least that's what they both thought. That's what they thought for a long time...until he showed up.
Special Agent Peter Strahm came into the game after more victims appeared. A man who seemed to be the other side of Mark. He wasn't necessarily direct, he was softer and not so demanding, he was what Mark didn't perceive.
While Hoffman went too far in his mind and got lost between the two sides, it was Strahm who stood up to his actual colleague. And saw all the more who was the real victim in this whole department. Hoffman's colleague, partner and, for Strahm, clearly also his lover.
A fact that everyone seems to have turned a blind eye to because Mark Hoffman the hero only cared about his partner. They didn't both stay in the station until late at night to avoid disappearing into the locker room together. Strahm hadn't trusted Hoffman one bit from day one.
And yet, despite everything, it was one thing he realized he couldn't let go of. As much as he hated Hoffman, the more he wanted to free the detective from him. He was the righteous agent and he would save her, she deserved someone better like him and not Hoffman.
Two men who in their minds thought they had a claim on a woman, a life, that she was the one who should belong to the other. She was his. But who was his?
It was only a matter of time before Hoffman could no longer be with his beloved all the time. He had been given tasks and knew that he still had to keep the games going. His tasks were time-consuming and the door to his loved one's apartment remained closed more and more often.
She was left alone and as much as she longed for Hoffman, she could feel the special agent's eyes on her. She could feel him looking at her, handing her the coffee, his fingers stroking hers. Unlike Hoffman, he seemed to represent warmth.
His smile was sincere and his eyes followed her, worried that something might happen to her. ,,You did well today, darling," said Strahm who, like Hoffman, had found a nickname for his love. He had clearly seen how she reacted to her dependence on Hoffman, which had almost trained her. Her cheeks grew hot and she turned away in embarrassment.
She didn't see his knowing smile as he stepped closer to her, not brashly like Hoffman, but carefully, wanting to make her love him of her own free will and not out of dependence like Hoffman. ,,Darling? Strahm isn't that a bit...personal?" she asked, trying to cover whatever this situation was leading up to with a sip of coffee.
,,You tell me, darling, is it...personal?" he asked back, taking the coffee away from her and pushing her a little further, but she stood firm. He wouldn't give up and so he had her. He could feel her decision as she placed her hand on his chest. His hand slowly moved up her hand and ran lightly over her body.
Saw how she dropped her gaze, how the touch reminded her of Hoffman and yet it wasn't him. ,,Darling...answer me what is it?" he asked, placing a finger under her chin and forcing her to look at him. Saw how she pulled it towards him and how he would have loved to interrogate her under other circumstances.
But then it happened, she pressed herself against him, kissed him and with a victoriously satisfied grin, Strahm returned the kiss. He pressed her lightly against the locker, felt her clinging to him, felt how needy she actually was.
That night, the door to her apartment opened again and yet it wasn't Hoffman who came to her. He went into her bedroom and laid her on the bed in his arms. Because while Hoffman was in control, it was Strahm who wanted to tease her his darling.
He wanted to show her how good she could be and how far she could go if she wanted to. He caressed her body, leaving kisses and hickeys on it. Before he started teasing her pleading noises went through the room over and over again. He wiped away her tears and only kissed her more.
She praised him for his strength. ,,So good, so incredibly good for me darling" he told her over and over again as he gave himself to her. It was not pain but pure devotion as he pushed her back onto the bed, her wrists handcuffed to the bedpost.
He knew she would like it, she was learning to love the curiosity and the unknown with him. Before she ended up kissing the red strings and he took care of her. Not like Hoffman who pulled her close she knew she was his and yet the aftercare of Strahm seemed to mean the same.
But when night fell and all three parties reappeared at the station, something lay between them. Hoffman's chains had wrapped around her and Strahm had thrown his and hit her. She was caught between them, unaware that when they all three met in the hallway, Hoffman would see it.
He would see Strahm's victorious grin meet him as she ran her gaze over them, and both men would see each other's markings on the body of their beloved. ,,She's mine" came from Hoffman and his hand slid to her hip, pulling her closer and she felt his tension.
He seemed to want to smash Strahm's skull when she saw his fisted hands. But Strahm just kept smiling as he approached the two of them and stopped next to her, turning his gaze to Mark and saying, ,,Are you sure about that?".
Before he put his finger under her chin again and she looked at him. She saw his wink before he disappeared into the interrogation room with a ,,See you...Darling". But as in every trap, every game, in the end it was clear there could only be one.
Who did she belong to, who did her love belong to in the end. Mark Hoffman, who had built everything up through manipulation and lies, but if they were lies, why did her heart beat so fast when he drew her to him?
Or was it Peter Strahm's sense of justice and him as a hero, but hadn't he tempted her? Two men who learned in a bloody game that you could lose your lover faster than one would like.
It bothers me the way people, especially in this fandom, will "simp" for villains who are clearly mirroring real life bigotry and hate (misogyny, racism, homophobia, child abuse, etc). I get going head over heels for a villain who is evil in a way that feels very cartoony and silly (ex; Stickybeard, Toiletinator, Knightbrace, Spankulot, so on) because, well, they aren't exactly hateful... Nor does their impact hurt anyone truly. But if you look at Father, after seeing him abuse children, kidnap them, brainwash them, force them into racist and misogynistic/sexist conformities, and imply that he has MURDERED people, and you say "he's hot" you're... Kind of weird. Him and Mr. Boss are probably the only two who I'd argue shouldn't be simped for yet I see it all the time.
Before I get attacked, let me back up WHY this is weird. To start, I am an abuse victim. I have seen with my very own eyes as "friends" would disregard what my abusers did to me and call them "attractive", knowing everything they had done. This phenomenon I described with Father as an example? It exists in real life. And it happens FREQUENTLY. You can find numerous cases of real life crimes being disregarded and failing to bring justice to victims simply because the perpetrator was good looking. By doing this with fictional characters, you are reinforcing to people who do it with real abusers and bigots that they're not doing anything wrong by disregarding their actions with physical looks. It's the same reason you should hate proshipping. It's not cool to simp for characters who are genuinely terrible people, and it's especially not cool to try and pretend they aren't shitty just so you can like them. It's gross, especially to abuse victims or victims of bigotry. If you try to say, "well I can tell the difference from real life/fiction" or "I don't like REAL abusers" this is a talking point of proshipping. The "fiction" excuse. There's a huge difference between getting the hots for something that is a complete figment of the human imagination and has no true real life problem parallels (aka... Toilet themed villain) and getting the hots for something that can, does, and will unfortunately happen more with frequency in real life OR parallels the real life issue (Father being abusive and bigoted for example). The fact that it's a fictional character doesn't stop the very realistic aspects of gross behavior from being there, and by "simping" for them just because they're fictional, you're sending a really nasty message to abuse victims. I should also reiterate that your content of simping for a shitty character can and will be used as justification for someone who does the same to real life abusers. Fiction affects reality, I promise. If fiction didn't affect reality, people wouldn't be so determined to see representation of minorities in media. If fiction didn't affect reality, sharks wouldn't be overhunted and endangered in the real world simply because of a work of fiction. If fiction didn't affect reality, cats wouldn't be having emergency vet visits after consuming milk due to the fictional concept of adult cats drinking primarily milk. Please be careful about this stuff.
PS; I am NOT saying you can't personally find his looks attractive. You can say he's hot. But like... Don't "simp" for him.
i do think it’s funny that the gentlebeardies who proclaim their love for the revenge crew don’t actually talk that much about or create content for the revenge crew. they don’t give a shit about the “boatful of queer poc that Izzy sold out” (LMFAO) unless they can use the crew’s diversity as some kind of moral gotcha. they care about GB because that’s the only thing that matters about the show in their eyes. and it’s so fucking unoriginal!!! just endless regurgitated post about “omg they’re soooo in love~~ and isn’t it great that love conquered all their problems~~!” it’s unoriginal derivative dreck unless they have to invent new ways to lie about how izzy deserves the death penalty.
oh anon you get me
you have no idea how much i hate the diversity of the crew being used as a literal weapon in this fandom when it comes to demonizing izzy and washing Ed and Stede of any of their wrong doings.
im frustrated by the use of the crew in season 2 only because it was so painfully obvious to me that the budget cuts really affected the ensemble. the way the Swede and Buttons were written out of the show felt rushed and like it came out of nowhere, especially as those two characters, felt the 'least' developed out of the rest of them. so giving them both this long winded set up to be written out was too clunky for me.
i miss when Frenchie was singing and strumming along on his lute. i miss when Jim was Jim, because lbr that was Vico in s2. it just felt like Jim wasn't there anymore. i can't say what happened in the writer's room at that time or what sort of material Vico was given or if it skewed more to improve, but a lot of what was established for the characters in s1 was missing for me.
the rhetoric of this being the Ed&Stede show i think did more harm than good. the assertion that the other characters are only here in service of Ed and Stede's development reduces the sense of scale and scope and also agency these characters have.
a lot of the foundational aspects of GB as a ship i think falls a bit too much into fan service. people talk about how revolutionary and groundbreaking the ship is as a cis gay couple on screen. as if it hasn't been seen before. like i didn't get the wow moment of Stede in the mermaid costume as other fans did. Stede's dream at the beginning of season 2 with him killing Izzy and then colliding with Ed in this romantic gesture of love and passion on the beach is straight up fantasy for Stede, but i think fans took the idea of Stede literally killing Izzy a bit too seriously because that is Stede's fantasy. he wanted his reunion with Ed to be simple and understandable. that it was all Izzy's fault when the reality of the situation was so much messier and complicated. like David and the writers were literally telling us that Izzy is not the enemy here because this moment on the beach was pure fantasy. and fantasies can be dangerous
and then the fans said that Izzy deserved it, should have had his second leg shot and amputated, that he deserved to die, that he's still a nuisance even in death despite the fact that he's dead. that is both a master manipulator but also a cringe fail loser incapable of doing anything right. and it's like. okay. you don't seem to understand this character either.
like a lot of the problems in this fandom have existed before and will continue to exist in other iterations. every fandom has its ship wars. every fandom has long ass call out posts about characters they don't like. but let's not pretend this is anything revolutionary
what i've noticed is that this fandom will reach a burnout period and it's probably already upon us. the constant need to be like 'we're trending!!' when all algorithms are dog shit and glitchy as hell doesn't mean anything. plus the fact that there are only two seasons, less BTS content to go around, it's all coming from the same overdrawn well and eventually it will come up empty.
it's okay to step back. it's okay to leave a fandom for a bit and come back to it years down the road. it's okay. but all of this is exhausting
Actually Terusai has kind of a fascinating element of psychological horror that I don't think most people notice.
Think about it. In a world where psychic powers are real and can be strong enough to destroy the planet, a girl is born who has two special abilities:
(Nearly) every guy immediately falls in love with her, and
The world in general bends over backwards to her will, affecting probability, the weather, and even the physics of falling droplets.
In the face of this, even Saiki's godly set of abilities are barely enough to counter her second power. And despite how much trouble Teruhashi puts him in and will continue to put him in, and despite Teruhashi's completely superficial crush on him, Saiki feels himself starting to fall in love with her too.
Is it true love? Is it Teruhashi's power eventually working its way through his natural defenses? Is it the will of God/the mangaka forcing him to be together with Teruhashi for some reason, possibly just because she wants it, or to appease an audience he knows exists out there somewhere?
How long can Saiki fight against Teruhashi's powers and God's will? How can he ever know whether his feelings are genuine?
The only way to know 100% for sure would be if Teruhashi loses interest in him and he then finds that he's also lost interest in her. Or potentially if he significantly powers up somehow and then finds that his feelings for Teruhashi aren't as strong any more.
The same problem still applies to any Teruhashi ship, of course, except that none of them would know that their feelings could potentially have been forced onto them by supernatural power, and so would live and love in ignorant bliss. 🤔 It might be possible for wlw ships to dodge this issue, except that Aiura and Imu's strong reactions to Teruhashi at first sight imply that Teruhashi's first power extends to anyone attracted to women (which would also explain Hairo's disinterest).
And if Teruhashi herself should ever realize that she was born with these powers and that her hard work isn't the source of them (as proven by the fact that she had them as a baby and also in all apocalyptic scenarios and she's gone evil, she still is loved and worshipped), she would have SUCH a breakdown, rip...
What a way to shatter a worldview! And how could she trust that ANYONE'S feelings towards her could be legitimate if she knows she has a magic power that forces the issue?? Maybe that's what tips her over the edge into cult leader in some of those AUs tbh!
You could hypothetically argue that Aiura's soulmate readings also exert control, except that Aiura's powers are only good for getting information, she's never shown any ability to affect reality. And it seems that soulmates don't necessarily always end up together for whatever reason (like geography/being in completely different areas of the world), so if Saiki wanted to ignore that prediction, there really wouldn't be anything stopping him.
He clearly didn't fall in love with Aiura at first sight (nor she with him) and no circumstances have ever evolved to force him into close contact with Aiura. Even the time Imu shoved Saiki and Aiura into the closet was in Teruhashi's favor because hearing her admit she liked Saiki was enough to prevent Saiki from carrying on his plan with Aiura. 🤷🏾
So any feelings that develop between Aiura and Saiki would be undoubtedly natural. But any feelings Saiki develops for Teruhashi would be perpetually under question...
Buzz 7.8
Nazi capes fuck off, like fucking for real
Honestly even if Kaiser deigned to tell his people that the Undersiders weren't responsible, somehow I doubt any Empire member would be inclined to treat them with much respect.
Yeah, see, this isn't about the leaks for Hookwolf. This is about the fucking beef over the dog fights.
Not a genius move from the driver, honestly. If you really want to put bullets in the villains that have good defensive capabilities, the last thing you want to do is give up the element of surprise. Stormtiger may not have been able to deflect those shots if he didn't have enough time to react.
Also, does Cricket wield kama? Like, the fucking Japanese farming tool? Are you allowed to join the Empire if you're a blatant weeaboo?
This is a really bad matchup honestly, it's tense to see how close they get to death with these fuckers
Disturbingly evocative and sadistic, but what else is to be expected from fucking Nazis, right
Clever guy
Fuck yeah, environmental takedown
Grue is fucking hardcore. Two shots to Stormtiger's legs and not even bothering to acknowledge Cricket's hostage. Dude does not fuck around when it comes to Empire, the only restraint here is that he's not killing them outright but honestly I wouldn't feel bad if he did. Just dump their bodies into the water, bing bang boom.
Well, okay, I guess Hookwolf would still be a problem, wouldn't he
This Cricket gal is bullshit honestly
So, yeah, now that we've gotten all three of the Empire capes to show their powers, I'll go ahead and say that this fight was stacked against Skitter and Grue from the jump. Hookwolf can't be fought hand-to-hand without being shredded to pieces and insects can't do much about metal flesh. Stormtiger can get bugs off himself no problem and can blast away Grue's darkness. Cricket, meanwhile, has some kinda sonic blast that lets her navigate Grue's darkness and also incapacitate Skitter's bugs.
The fact that they get out of this fight alive is a testament to remarkable intelligence and grit on their part.
This is a brutal slugfest honestly, although the fucking Nazi deserves every second of pain she's getting from it.
It's a little funny that they're having this conversation in front of Cricket. Like "oh yeah it looks bad but she's too busy being a sadist to do any real damage," "oh that sucks ass of her but I'm glad you're not too hurt" and she's laying there with a chunk of thigh missing. She should be embarrassed enough to leave town forever.
Yeah Cricket's busted, but good news is she's taken care of
It's a little funny that they're both stuck stitching each other back up after Brian cut off any romantic options. Like I've seen a lot of works where patching up someone's wounds and putting them back together would have a kind of bloodsoaked intimacy to it, but not here lmao
Also yeah you'd better appreciate Tattletale
These little punks. Love em to bits.
Okay so real quick, noticing Taylor's description of how Regent is talking, and I wonder how grounded Alec is as a baseline. Like I have to imagine that the Heartbreaker Experience doesn't do a whole lot of wonders for learning how to connect to the world around you. Is it an affectation like I've been speculating, or is that just the best he's got for engaging with reality?
I wish going straight for Purity meant killing her, but even without reading the rest of this arc I know the Undersiders don't have that kind of firepower. I can dream, though.
Teehee, parallels
Current Thoughts
I wish Grue managed to kill all three of the Empire capes but I get why he couldn't. I'll just have to hope they all die later.
Awesome that they managed to get the win over those bastards in the first place though, I don't think this is my favorite fight in terms of the beat-by-beat action but in terms of how they have to overcome the disadvantage of enemy powers it feels the best.
"What you like in fiction is what you accept/like in reality"
Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know liking shows/movies about cannibalism made you like cannibalism in real life or made you become a cannibal.
Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know liking terror shows/movies made you like people dying in a horrific way or turned you into a demon/a killer.
Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know liking shows/movies with genocide made you like/support genocide in real life or made you become a genocidal person.
Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know liking shows/movies with rape made you like/support rape in real life or made you become a rapist.
Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know liking shows/movies with a Dystopic Earth made you like Earth being destroyed or made you want to cause the end of the world.
"What you like in fiction is what you accept/like in real life" "Liking X trope means you support X trope in reality" "Shipping X and Y characters being in an abusive/toxic relationship makes you support abusive/toxic couples irl" "If you like X and Y character together that means you're an abuse apologist" "If you like X character that means you like/support what X does"
I'm really tired of these arguments. Why don't you stop with this thing already? Don't you see how wrong you are? How ilogical your arguments are? Honestly, if you think fiction is reality and reality is fiction I think you have a problem. Fiction is just that: fiction. And liking something in fiction doesn't make you like the same thing in real life.
"But fiction can affect reality!" I'm not saying fiction can't affect reality. I'm saying fiction isn't reality. And yeah, it can affect reality. But only if you let it affect reality. And that's why people should have morals. That's why people have to teach other people what's wrong and what's right. It's not writers/artists job to teach morals to people. Honestly- If you need someone in a show to tell you, for example "toxic relationships are bad"- I'm worried about your morality. Because fiction isn't supposed to teach you what's wrong and what's right. Your PARENTS are supposed to teach you what's wrong/right. Your TEACHERS are supposed to teach you what's wrong/right. Not a book, a show, a movie, or an anime. If your morality is so valuable that you need a book/show/movie/anime to tell you "this is right" "this is wrong" you need help. Seriously. Because an actual morally person who liked a book/show/movie/anime and read/saw something bad- would think "This is bad", not because the show says "this is bad" but because they KNOW that thing is bad in reality. They wouldn't think "Damn, the morals of this writer/creator are horrible and they deserve to burn in hell. They're monsters for writing a book like this/creating a show/movie/anime like this" but "I can like this book/show/movie/anime because I don't support this thing in real life and I hate real people doing the same thing as X character"
So leaving that subsection aside, as I was saying- Liking movies/shows with cannibalism doesn't make you a cannibal, as well as liking terror movies (IT, The Warren Files) doesn't make you support murder. Liking movies/shows with genocide (Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel, DC) doesn't make you support genocide, as well as liking movies with a dystopian world (Maze Runner, Divergent, The Hunger Games) doesn't make you want the end of the world. And if we agree on all of those things, then why the hell liking X abusive/toxic ship (better said: ships who are seen as "toxic/abusive" for some reason) would make you like/support toxic/abusive relationships irl? And why liking X character would make you like/accept what X does? (with X being a villain most of the times) It makes no sense!
If you think fiction is reality, and what you like in fiction is what you support in real life, your argument applies to everything. I repeat it. EVERYTHING. Everything is fictional, or everything is real. EVERYTHING you like in fiction is what you support in real life or NOTHING you like in fiction is what you support in real life. And I do not accept objections. It's an "All or nothing" question.
If you don't agree with me, come on, block me. Because I don't want to interact with someone who can't see the difference between liking something in fiction and liking something in real life.
Another rant
So, got enough sleep, heard a few commentators and specialists opinions, and talked to a motorsports engineer (my dad btw - who has worked with Indy most of his life, and worked briefly with f1 in the 2010's) about the shenanigans with yesterday's race and here's some food for thought:
ALL cars are weighted before and after they get to parc fermé (so, that's Saturday and then Sunday) so George's was good before the race. (Back in the 80's Tyrrell used to fill balloons with water before getting weighted and then dumping the water during the race - hence weighing after the race as well)
It's not uncommon to get the fuel procedure wrong, there are more than a single tank so sometimes fuel can be left on the car, (So, at least that wasn't intentional)
Here's where things get interesting:
After pits the teams try and run deg rates on their used tyres to confirm if their strategies are well regulated with reality and if going long is a possibility. (Considering Lewis's second pit was H to H, Merc had data on how the deg was on those tyres and could -should actually - be able to project how the deg was going to be all the way to the end)
Other five cars made the one stopper work without being underweight and that's mostly because that was on the tables for them since the beginning and the teams got the cars ready with added in weights.
Import point - my dad was really fixed on this one - to make that one stopper work the cars HAD to carry extra added weight from the whole race, and the extra weight also affects how the tyres degrade (and of course, the overall results)
Considering George's and Lewis's post race interviews, I'd say Mercedes hadn't prepared any of the cars for that possibility because they honestly didn't believe it'd work
The back and forth between George and his engineer to decide to stay out went for about 3 laps, and in that time the data on tyre wear and deg shoud have been analysed and considered (by the whole of the engineers)
A possible reason why Mercedes didn't think George going for a one-stopper would be detrimental to Lewis's race (at that moment p1) was probably because their calculations were wrong, and they thought his tyres would eventually drop off (Lewis would easily catch him and they could try to get their two cars on podium)
And here's where things get tricky:
There's a somewhat unwritten rule in f1 that it's okay to offset strategies between your driver if the overall team result benefits for it, sometimes even at the cost of driver's positions. The only exception being when it's a VERY clear race win you're inverting. (Mclaren last week?!)
Yes, teams have given team orders to invert positions for a number of different reasons, but a 1-2 being inverted because of a strategy decision that left the lead driver (both quali and on the race) on the dark is a big problem. (Ferrari in the early 2000's with Schumi and Barrichello got soooo much heat for it. And probably why Toto had that face, he knew they crossed a line that was going to be hard to justify)
In any way, the mood inside that garage must had been atrocious for both sides. One was pretty much blindsided (Lewis side of the garage probably only learned Russ wouldn't drop off when the whole team did) and the other got dsqed by a mid-race decision that shouldn't have been allowed (btw those calculations are not only made by a single person, exactly as to not get a car dsq for a preventable error).
Honestly, I don't blame either fans (44 and 63) for how they reacted, because both drivers were screwed up by the team. But one probably has a mathematical reasoning behind, whilst the other has a imposing principles reasoning.
Now, something I'll give my two very personal cents about is I hope both drivers learn from that, specially George, because if Lewis can be on the receiving end of a trust breaking decision after 11 years and that many race wins and titles, you guys probably know where I'm going. And for Lewis, I hope he got the idea of how things are going to be moving forward (and this is not about priority it's about trusting the people they let almost dictate their lives for about 2 hours every GP)
#ella asks#lewis hamilton#mercedes amg f1#george russell#This one got hugeee#My dad hates f1 but he's always into the team decisions because it's where “motorsports show how people are still at the core of everything#Also it's totally okay if you disagree with everything here#Just be nice about it?!
ohhh yanno...I think sometimes why I get so uncomfortable with meta and theories with GO (specifically in defense of Aziraphale) is that it really starts to resemble pro Christianity rhetoric...and I totally believe that everyone should feel free to believe/not believe in any sort of religion they choose...but it starts to get real uncomfy real fast when I'm reminded of my own christian family and their condemnations of me and the experiences I went through growing up christian and then realizing I didn't believe in any of it...
and for some people maybe that IS why they so staunchly defend Aziraphale, but for me, it's why his actions made me so mad, and why the firm "aziraphale defenders no matter what" lowkey skeeve me out...like that post you said about knowing Aziraphale in real life...yeahhhh no I'd never be friends with him, and maybe that does make me too biased for Crowley, bc I'm imagining myself in his position, bc I HAVE BEEN in that position, but idk I just can't find it in me to defend angel characters or super pro christian type thinking ones when too much of irl has been negatively affected by those types of people. and yeah fiction is not reality but when the premise of GO is a satirical look on religion idk it's just iffy to be so pro angel/heaven imo (obviously this isn't about those who view it with nuance hahaha)
I know what you mean anon, I definitely feel the same.
Seeing people fall into angel good/demon bad without even noticing is... painful, to say the least. Defending all of Aziraphale's actions because he had "good intentions" or "still has faith" or "was traumatized by heaven" is harmful and unhealthy to say the least, and it 100% looks like pro-Christianity rhetoric at times.
We're supposed to look at Aziraphale and see somehow who yes, has good intentions, but has refused to deal with his trauma and problems and ends up making incredibly bad choices as a result. He is supposed to change, so defending his actions is counter-intuitive to the message Neil and Terry want us to receive.
Aziraphale is that kid who tells you sure, it's fine to no believe in God, but you will go to hell and suffer forever, who tells you everyone just needs to "try harder" and that "poor people have mor opportunities" (I still cannot process that he canonically says and believes that), who tells you that you can be gay, but don't be it in front of the children or any people.
Aziraphale is the guy who refuses to deal with his internalized homophobia and asks his queer friends to go back into the closet because he cannot deal with seeing queer people be happy while he is stuck in self-induced misery.
There are reasons why so many people are uncomfortable with his behaviour and ideologies—and you are supposed to be.
