Okay. So. Anyone who's up to date and active on FFXIV will know that the first round of bidding for the new housing drop closed today and the results have been posted.

Well.

I GOT MY LOT.

I'm so excited. I thought it was going to be a really popular lot because it has a phenomenal view and is located right next to the travel crystal, market board, and summoning bell, and is a short walk away from the pools, but it turns out I was the only bid. I guess the Goblet isn't that popular anymore, but Ul'dah is where I started out and it's where my character is going to hang her hat.

I'm very excited to finish work and start building my forever home. First up will be the exterior-- gotta have the building before anything else, but then I gotta put in the garden plot(s).

↬ Starrk found the human world baffling, mainly because of how noisy everything seemed compared to Hueco Mundo. Car alarms, the hum of electricity, and people chatting endlessly in cafes had him constantly muttering, “Do humans ever shut up? Where is the off switch?”

↬ He had a lazy charm that worked in his favour. He would somehow manage to get free samples from the bakery down the road just by looking mildly interested. “You know, this human world isn’t so bad when they hand out food for no reason.”

↬ Teaching him to use modern appliances was a trial. He once accidentally turned the vacuum cleaner on full blast and almost blasted himself through the wall. “This thing’s alive, isn’t it?”

↬ He was a natural with animals, though. Dogs adored him, and he could walk into a park and have a pack of strays following him within minutes. You joked he was assembling a canine fracciones.

↬ He had an odd fascination with pigeons. He’d sit on park benches for hours, watching them mill about, occasionally throwing them crumbs. “They’re like tiny, less annoying Lilynettes. I like them.”

↬ Cooking became a mild obsession for him once he realised how much variety the human world offered. You caught him watching cooking tutorials on your phone. “Why do they all say, ‘easy recipe’ when this involves twenty steps and an oven I barely understand?”

↬ He was incredibly protective in the human world, though it didn’t show in dramatic ways. He’d keep you on the safe side of the pavement, steer you away from crowded areas, and shoot deadly glares at anyone who even glanced at you wrong. “Humans don’t know their place sometimes. Annoying, really.”

↬ He once tried going grocery shopping alone and came back with entirely the wrong things. You asked for bread and milk; he brought back jam and six bags of crisps.

↬ You introduced him to Netflix, and he became addicted to crime dramas. He liked to critique the criminals’ plans. You also caught him talking to your cat one afternoon, a very serious conversation about naps. “Listen, furball, if you don’t appreciate a good nap, what’s the point of life?”

↬ He was baffled by your human obsession with coffee. One morning, after trying it for the first time, he leaned back, his eyes narrowing at you. “So you willingly drink this dirt water every day?”

↬ Every time you mentioned going to work, he’d dramatically throw himself across the doorframe. “No. Stay. Your world’s already loud enough—don’t leave me to suffer alone.”

↬ Sleeping in the human world was oddly peaceful for him. He would stretch out on your sofa, claim half the bed without meaning to, and casually drape an arm over you. Just don’t let him sleep on a water bed. Worst sleep of his life.

Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez

↬ The feral kitty cat was convinced humans were weaklings until you took him to a gym. He ended up challenging some poor bloke to a weightlifting contest, won, and then complained it wasn’t a fair fight. Eventually, exercising was his idea of fun. He got addicted to the gym, showing off during pull-ups or weightlifting. “You watching? Yeah, that’s what I thought.”

↬ Adjusting to technology was a nightmare. He refused to admit he didn’t know how to use a phone and kept swiping at the screen like he was challenging it to a fight. “Why doesn’t it do what I tell it to? Stupid thing.”

↬ He got into trouble almost daily. One time, he scared a street performer by growling when they asked for a tip. You had to stop him from picking fights with random joggers. “What? They were staring too long. Looked like they wanted a challenge.”

↬ You tried teaching him how to cook, but he turned it into a battle. “Fire’s too weak. How do you even boil water in this thing?” He ended up burning toast and proudly declaring it a success.

↬ He was surprisingly good with kids, though he’d never admit it. Once, a group of kids challenged him to a game of football in the park, and he got way too into it. You had to stop him from trash-talking a ten-year-old. “What? They need to toughen up!”

↬ Animals adored him, which annoyed him to no end. Dogs would trot up to him on walks, wagging their tails. “What’s your deal? Go away!” But you caught him sneaking them pats when he thought you weren’t looking.

↬ Grimmjow got jealous easily in the human world. If anyone flirted with you, he’d casually stand behind you with his arms crossed, glaring like an angry kitty ready to pounce. “They can look somewhere else unless they want trouble.”

↬ You introduced him to video games, and he was instantly hooked. He preferred fighting games and made it his mission to beat you every time. “Don’t hold back, or I’ll make you regret it.” When he finally lost, he pouted for hours.

↬ He mocked human horror films relentlessly. “This is supposed to scare you? I’ve seen Hollows scarier than that guy with the knife.”

↬ He hated wearing human clothes at first and complained endlessly about jeans (like those skinny jeans Urahara gave him lol). “These things are like a prison for my legs!” Eventually, he settled for hoodies and track pants, which he grudgingly admitted were “not bad.”

↬ Going out to eat was chaos with him. He’d order the spiciest thing on the menu just to prove he could handle it, then spend the rest of the meal pretending his face wasn’t red. “I’m fine. This? This isn’t hot at all.”

↬ He did love human food but refused to admit it. “What’s this crap? Tastes alright, I guess.” Yet you caught him hoarding spicy crisps and chugging fizzy drinks like they were going out of style.

Ulquiorra Cifer

↬ The fourth Espada treated the human world like a scientific experiment, observing everything with quiet fascination. You once caught him staring at a vending machine for ten minutes before he asked, “How does it decide what to give you?”

↬ He doesn’t understand the need for human social practices, like small talk. When someone greeted him with, “How are you?” he replied, “That is irrelevant,” and walked away, leaving you to apologise.

↬ He had an unexpected knack for blending in. His quiet demeanour and neutral expression made him oddly suited to working in your local library. The librarian adored him for his efficiency, though he refused to smile at patrons. “They do not need my emotions to find a book.”

↬ He doesn’t understand sarcasm at all. When you joked about him being a terrible flatmate, he replied, entirely serious, “Then perhaps I should leave.” And then proceeded to depart.

↬ Was very baffled by human food. You once handed him a chocolate bar, and he stared at it like it was a piece of alien technology before taking a cautious bite. “This…is acceptable.” But no spicy food, please.

↬ He was deeply confused by human emotions. Once, you cried watching a sad film, and he frowned. “Why are you leaking from your eyes over something fictional?”

↬ He adapted to human clothes surprisingly well, favouring monochrome outfits that matched his Espada uniform. You teased him about looking like a model, and he replied, “If that is how humans perceive me, it is irrelevant.”

↬ Ulquiorra had a habit of silently appearing behind you, scaring you half to death. When you yelled at him, he tilted his head and said, “If your reaction is fear, then perhaps your spiritual awareness is lacking.”

↬ He found rain fascinating. One evening, you found him standing on the balcony, staring at the sky as water drenched him.

↬ Despite his stoic nature, he had a protective streak. Once, a stranger got too close to you, and Ulquiorra stepped in, his gaze cold. “You are intruding. Leave.” The stranger bolted without another word.

↬ He often left you cryptic compliments. When you asked if he liked spending time with you, he’d say, “Your presence is…not unpleasant. That is sufficient, is it not?”

↬ He found the human world illogical but not without value. One night, as you both watched the stars from your balcony, he quietly admitted, “You humans…are fragile, yet endure. It is strange.”

DRDT CH2 EP16 First Impressions

We’ve reached the end of the chapter! A bittersweet feeling, finally getting closure on this chapter while also ushering in a new hiatus. Still, congrats to dev for making it this far! Hope they enjoy their break, while we enjoy whatever they’ve cooked up for the ending!

Without further ado, let us enjoy peak.

MonoTV: “You got it right!” IT’S ALL OVER.

Okay wait it’s actually kinda weird to see the new David sprites outside of the Trial. Like it’s trippy idk why. That’s crazy.

Eden: “Why her of all people?” Poor Eden, at least give her an answer! Even if it’s just “it was the easiest option” man.

Whit: “I really thought that no one would repeat what happened to Xander and Min.” Is this the very first piece of anti-Whit Time Loop theory evidence? Or is he just lying? I don’t believe the theory, so I’m passing that one to the defenders.

Ace: “I killed her. And if you can’t forgive me for that, then there’s nothing I can say.”

Hey remember when Nico said they didn’t see the point of saying sorry if they wouldn’t be forgiven anyways? Yeah.

The foils are foiling :O

Both Teruko and Eden blaming themselves in their own way (Eden mentioned it in Ep10 “just like Min!” and now Teruko’s bringing “misfortune” into the conversation), man we are in for some sad times with these two. And everyone else ig.

Hu: “How could you say it’s just misfortune?” And Hu is very against this idea, interesting.

“So we can’t blame ourselves for failing to prevent something like that.” Ah, there’s the ticket. She’s trying not to feel guilty about it, which is kinda fair, Arei’s death is 99% Ace’s fault.

Eden: “The Ace I met for the first time wasn’t a murderer.” Oof, Eden hitting us with the full highlight line. She’s so great for this honestly. Everything she says afterwards is also great for her character, I love her (and I don’t need to read her lines with suspicion!!! I’m free!!!)

Veronika. And she’s still smiling. Go worst girl! /affectionate

“The only thing anyone can do in this killing game is to shatter.” We are… getting worryingly close to secret quote wording here.

Rose: “Are you saying Ace was pushed into killing because of things like almost being killed?” (Paraphrased) Oh God she’s gonna feel guilty too because she let Nico get the turpentine! Even if that doesn’t work if Ace had already chosen to kill Eden, still! How much self-blame can we have this trial?

Teruko: “No.” Yeah thank you.

Ace: “Did you all get the Veronika virus or what?” God I’m gonna miss him so much actually.

[To Levi] “Shut up for the rest of your life and kill yourself!” Holy SHIT he’s going out with a bang. {Hindsight: I didn’t realize how accurate this would be}

David: “You still have it in you to throw stones in your glass house.” Did this motherfucker correctly use the idiom Ace fucked up earlier? He’s such a piece of shit /affectionate.

Ace: “I don’t care if it made me a hypocrite!” AGH-! New sprite and the voice acting continues the hot streak of being absolutely fucking stellar! Holy hell!

[To Levi] “I just needed a reason to stay mad at you!” Ouchie!

[The whole Levi v Ace thing] This is just fucking incredible. Levi still doesn’t understand, Ace just wanted to stay mad so he could live with his betrayal, just peak character writing all around. And peak VAing, of course.

Teruko: “I need you to do a favor for me. It might just save your life.” YOOO I CALLED THIS!!! Blackened Blaze of Glory let’s fucking goooo!!!! Thanks to shinycrows for asking me that!!!

“Kill MonoTV for me.” Alright so. Not the best plan ever, but then again, it’s not like any plan against the killing game will work on CH2. Also the way she said that was great.

MonoTV: “Yeah, more murder!” Why’s it so funny for?

Teruko: “Arei died because you’re a coward, Ace!” YO why’s she going so hard right now?! This entire scene is incredible, I don’t even have any words for this much peak. The emotion in her voice, holy fuck- Oh yeah because Arei’s crying reminded her of something! In the playground! So Teruko does have a small connection with Arei so she’d feel real bad (for more reason than just death of someone she knew)! I didn’t put that together till now.

[Ace punches MonoTV] PEAAAK! Oh shit it actually broke! That was so fucking awesome! Let’s fucking go Ace!!!!! Also MonoTV is definitely just coming back, right?

That broken MonoTV sprite though!

Eden: “Finally, it’s over—“ The lack of music is making this really impactful, even though we know it won’t work. Holy shit.

MonoTV: “A fatal error has been detected” We breaking out different fonts?

MonoTV: “Now loading the default XF-Ture personality drivers.”

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

AND THE CROWD GOES FUCKING WILD!!!!

Now we have the question. Was MonoTV created by XF for the game? Or did XF just create the AI, and someone repurposed it for thre killing game?

Also what are these defaults going to be?

…Wait whose voice is this? Someone we know? Please tell me I’m bad at recognizing voices! {I think it’s still MonoTV’s VA, just doing a different act, but I’m not sure}

[MonoTV speech] Didn’t expect MonoTV of all damn characters to have a badass moment, but I guess this is the world we live in now.

“But there is no reason to punish Ace a second time.” UHHH Chat are we cooked?

The death of every participant? This is about rule 14, right? “All murderers must be held accountable”? The “everyone is responsible for Mai’s death and must be punished” theory seems to be gaining ground.

It’s also saying this is why it was created, so XF likely did have a direct hand in the killing game. Min MM not looking so implausible all of the sudden.

“I will pass the punishment…” chat we’re actually immensely cooked what.

“I will now proceed with the execution of Teruko Tawaki.” UHHH LUCK BETTER COME IN CLUTCH!!!

[Machine Gun] BRO?!?!?!

Charles: “That thing will surely kill you!” Even Charles is sounding extremely distressed here, damn! But I guess Teruko is relying on her luck maybe?

Teruko: “Killed? I doubt it. As if something so kind could happen to me.” AAAAAAH!!!! The suicidal tendencies return with a vengeance!!!

[The entire Arturo - Ace debacle] I…holy shit???? The genuine distress in Arturo’s voice when he says he can’t save Levi??? Ace clinging to the hope that he can??? Bro what the fuck??? This is insane???? I can’t- I can’t compute- This is actually insane. This is so much. Levi better not fucking die after this I swear to god-

… Okay, so. I know someone brought up this term in relation to Ace. Genius, first.

Second, that might just be one of the greatest executions I’ve even seen, if not the best. I usually don’t care much about how good executions are, but this… this is incredibly good. The music was banging. The execution method was unique. It wasn’t related to his talent, but his character, which makes it better imo.

(Also are the “unexplained illnesses” related to Xander’s family?)

And even through all this… dev showed the corpse. When they didn’t show Min’s. Why would you allow me to cope even further? You drop XF and show a corpse- holy shit. I just can’t even process anything.

And he didn’t say his quote. He never said it I don’t think. Levi better survive.

VERONIKA. Holy shit she’s actually getting more and more unhinged by the second the hell-? Yeah remember when she looked unnerved by Min’s execution?!?! She ain’t looking unnerved no more!

Hu: “The elevator is open!” We’re just- gonna ignore- Alright, I guess it’s fair. Surely Levi survives right?

Rose please tell me you looked away. I know you saw Levi so it’s not looking great either way, but still.

Teruko: “Go on without me.” Is she going to talk to David maybe? About the secret?

“Everyone was gone.” Alright no, she’s just going to mourn or something?

[Teruko reflects on her similarities to Ace and Arei] I really like this moment, it’s nice of her to say what the audience was probably already thinking.

MonoTV: “I must convince everyone that I’m the villain.” And what does this mean MonoTV? Genuinely too burnt out to think about it any harder rn.

MonoTV: “That is the fate that I have, to make others suffer.” HOW ARE WE TYING MONO FUCKING TV TO THE THEME OF FATE?!?!?!WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE HAVE TO TALK ABOUT FUCKING “TERUKO-MONOTV PARALLELS” WHAT THE FUCK?! DEV YOU SON OF A BITCH YOU DID IT AGAIN!!! /positive

[Teruko breaks down] Holy hell…

“I had known the answer…” AUGH- The character writing… it’s so good… fucking hell this is incredible…

Where do we even go from here? Teruko’s speed running the themes of trust and fate like they’re not the main themes of the series?!?! I’m going crazy.

… Are we seriously leaving it on a cliffhanger whether Levi is alive or not? Like, I know the “surviving students” thing counted him, so I’m guessing he’s alive, but… hot damn. This is an evil cliffhanger.

(Also I find it funny that David’s silhouette sprite did in fact change to what the dev said was his new default lol)

Okay, in… ascending order of crazy.

Did David just… not speak almost the entire episode? Did he even have any lines when Teruko was being executed? The fuck is going on with him? He didn’t even reveal Teruko’s secret???

Veronika was unhinged. Loved that for her. Hope she gets worse, it seems like CH3 will be a fun chapter for her (I hope that doesn’t mean she dies).

Whit officially gets his very own unhinged/breakdown sprite! We’ve completed the set! I mean, it’s not as crazy as others, but it matches Rose’s so…

Everyone endures further trauma, fun.

I even feel bad for Arturo! Poor guy did not ask for this shit! There’s fun foils here with Levi trying to protect the group as much as he can and Arturo being forced into the role…

Also. Of all ships. I did not expect Aceturo to get a dub here somehow.

I somehow called more or less predicted what Teruko was gonna do. Fun how that happened. And her little character reflection at the end was awesome, I loved it very much. Jesus fuck.

That’s gotta be the best execution I’ve ever seen, hands down. I don’t care that there wasn’t a single horse there. This is much better.

Also, no secret quote from Ace. So those are 100% not a good metric for defining who is at risk of death. Wonder if that means we’ll get a flashback with him?

XF-Ture Tech?!?!?! MonoTV character building kinda?!?!?!?! I’m going crazy?!?!?!

Levi??? This motherfucker better be alive. There’s no reason he should be dead, so I’m gonna assume he’s alive. But wow… I guess weightedblankettt was sorta right on the “final orbit” interpretation of Levi’s connection to Shoemaker-Levy 9, just… not in a way we expected. (If that meant nothing to you don’t worry about it).

And Ace… Hot damn. Just… an entire character arc at the eleventh minute, huh? How’s that for the people who were saying Ace wouldn’t be remembered, huh? Levi probably owes him his life, in a way. He broke MonoTV. He faced his thanatophobia to try to help Levi survive. Just… so fucking good. I said it in the reaction. I genuinely felt just as much grief for him as I did Min. And coming from me, that’s… a lot. Just incredible writing and voice acting and everything in between…

This cements it, btw. This is my favorite trial from anything DR related ever. It’s genuinely insane. I am going to make a more detailed, more coherent post analyzing the entirety of Part 2 of this chapter, because it deserves it. It deserves more thought than I’m able to give right now on account of feeling too many emotions. Stay tuned for that, I guess.

Props to the dev, the VAs, and anyone who might have laid a hand on this at some point. It’s genuinely incredible, this is an unforgettable experience. Holy shit.

what do the rouges think of cardinal?

Since i've yet to write in Cardinal in a scene beyond his desk work- these might change.

Cardinal acts well- like a cryptic?? It's a complete coin toss how he will behave, if he will turn the creepy to 100% and speak in tounge's (its a mix of latin and greek) But when he DOES respond its through a heavy voice modulater.

However if you want specifics?? (also some extra lore of some rouges no longer active- both due to. Cardinals interference and BECAUSE I SAID SO)

Joker- They are a menace, never once humors his schemes- he knows the moment Cardinal gets involved his fun is ruined. Therefore he hates their guts. (Cardinal is reported 10x more brutal when faced with the Joker)

Scarecrow- Self proclaimed "Arch enemy" of Cardinal since hes never once sucseeded in drugging them, and he longs to know what would make the little bird sing. (Cardinal is said to have an entire pocket dedicated to backup rebreathers, usually lets the bats take over)

Riddler- LOVES Cardinal so so much- they are like best friends (no no they are not) Cardinal seems to enjoy his puzzles and he's able to pull out ones even the Batman would struggle with. Sometimes an informant for a good game. (Cardinal will admit, out of all the rouges? He doesn't mind Riddler- just with less hostages)

Harley- Thinks they are strange, even more strange than the bats. But more than anything concerning- their behaviors raise a ton of red flags but she doubts she can convince them to therapy, though it is her goal. (Cardinal is... unsure about Harley, she's changed- but memories are hard)

Ivy- Theres a mutual respect- Though out of all the vigilantes Cardinal seems to fear her the most, the last time being hit by her pollen they freaked out enough Harley made her give over the antidote. They definently fight, but she does try and hold back some of her more underhanded stuff. (Cardinals suit got several more layers after that incident)

Mr.Freeze- Reformed villain now, as a result of Cardinal. Aka when he first did his villain monologue to them- they had spoke (for the first time to ANY rouge) and asked to see his blue prints. A few years later his suit was fortified to help him live a somewhat normal life, and his wife had been cured. They got their life back. Leaving Gotham soon after, but he still checks in on ocassion (Cardinal never responds though, but they're happy with the updates- that he was able to help)

Catwoman- Annoying, but interesting for sure. It seems no matter how elaborate her scheme they always seem to pop in and just stare or even wave. The most interesting thing though? They never stop her. Certian locations she robs they will return the item (usually museums) but have never once tried to actually take her in. If anything shes half convinced they throw the bats off her trail, its interesting. (She never steals from anyone who cant afford to replace it, and honestly her stuff goes to a good cause-)

Clayface- Never became a villain- After his accident, Dagget had been shut down long before so Matt Hageb he had no accsess to the cream. Penguin- Cardinal is a pain in their ass, not as much as Black mask but still just enough that he doesnt hold back when attacking. The ONLY saving grace from absolute hatred is Cardinal outright refuses to fight any of his birds, and will even go as far as to save some of them when the bats are too careless to notice a penguin slipping off a roof. (Cardinal wishes Penguin would stop dragging actual penguins into his shit- even with guns they're just too cute)

look i know that this is not a new revelation but i want to draw attention to the fact that at the bandstand - when crowley was screaming literal blasphemy - aziraphale was not looking up. he was not in fear of god, but in fear of whomever could be strolling around the park - taking a jog or tending the gardens - that could overhear.

granted, this was before aziraphale trying to speed-dial god and try to get her to intervene, but a good portion of his fear has always been rooted in what heaven could do. what heaven probably would do.

on the lookout, vigilant and twitchy, and whilst that may be in the interest of aziraphale's own safety at being not only seen in company with a demon conspiring to thwart said Great Plan, but also hearing it without challenge... i imagine it would be a smidge in fear of what heaven would do to that demon in the process. they're nothing to heaven, the lowest of the low and at best a means to an end. if they came to haul away aziraphale, what on god's green earth would they do to crowley without a second thought? actually, no, let's not be silly; heaven wouldn't bother - what would hell do?

he knows what: 1941 proved that. 1827 proved that. and as would be shown to him directly later that day, after the bandstand - the abduction and subsequent bathtub trial in hell proved that too.

so then take aziraphale's behaviour here (and throughout the whole segment):

im not personally of the mind that aziraphale was deliberately hurting/manipulating crowley in order to protect him. at the bandstand? maybe. maybe out of (understandable) self-preservation, but also to protect crowley. but the final fifteen? aziraphale was - to his mind - being given the opportunity to protect crowley from within, in a position where he had the confidence, or at least the optimism, that nothing could happen to him.

he had to go, had to take the chance to change heaven so they, and anyone else, could be truly free. and if he could take crowley with him? out of the reach of hell, and equally so close to him that heaven wouldn't dare? of course he would offer what he did.

in any eventuality, the very likely notion remains, from aziraphale's perspective, that there is a very real threat from heaven. it may not have been overt, it may not have even been vaguely hinted at by the metatron, but aziraphale has never lost sight that heaven is dangerous. and they are lurking in disguise in the bushes, just as they are watching from just outside the door.

Bison had no intention (in the beginning) of being with Kant just as much as Kant/Style had/have no intentions of being with Fadel/Bison. Now this is just my opinion, and in no way, am I trying to be condescending (since I’ve gotten that before when I have made analysis posts). In a general sense, if you are easily defensive, maybe reading people’s opinions is not for you. But if you want to read because you like to read other people’s thoughts, enjoy. ❤️

I am going to use *10 Things as my reference because I think it leans more people have seen that than *Taming. If you haven’t read Taming or watched 10 Things, this may help you understand what a lot of the fandom talks about. For those who have watched or read either of the references for THK we know that the story is that Kat (Fadel) is the impossible sister who will never marry, and that Bianca (Bison) is the sister that everybody wants. In order to get both of his daughter’s married, their father decides to make it a rule that the only way Bianca can get married is if Kat gets married. This leads to the plot of manipulating Kat into being “Tamed” by her love interest in the original text (the movie moves away from this and instead has Patrick love her for who she is).

Going back to Bison, his character reflects that of Bianca; the very popular, beautiful, and wanted little sister (brother). The thing that I think some people are getting wrong about Bison is that he is more of a loverboy than he actually is. In the movie adaption, Bianca has no intention of ever being with Cameron. I’d say she’s not even that into Joey either, just wants the popularity dating him brings. She uses him as a ruse to get Kat to finally date so she can date. In the beginning, she kind of sees Cameron as a cute puppy. Almost like this person that she can manipulate just because she knows they want something from her. She eventually does start to like Cameron, but there are trials that she has to go through to see that. That being said, I don’t think Bison initially wanted to be with Kant. I think much like Bianca he was trying to free himself from what he sees as a lack of freedom and free will.

It’s not that I’m saying he doesn’t want revenge for his parents (he obviously does, but that is seemingly a ruse by “mom” to keep them around). But it is more so that just like Bianca, his brother is an obstacle within itself. The issue here is that he loves his brother (just like Bianca loves Kat) but neither set of siblings truly knows the other. They fight to protect each other, but can’t even do that because how do you protect someone you don’t truly understand? The only person in the reference material who is truly a victim of the plot is Kat (Fadel) as they are the only people in their stories who have genuine feelings for Patrick (Style). At no point is any of it a joke or a game or even a ploy to get what they want. In general, neither Kat nor Fadel are that savvy and both are far too levelheaded to do anything that the other characters do. So when you look at the motivation behind Bison’s attempt at freedom, he has to be far more savvy than anyone around him.

This is because you have to keep in mind that both Bianca and Bison’s goals aren’t to trick or hurt their sibling. They are looking for someone who would love their “difficult” sibling while also getting something in return. Bison didn’t mean for Kant to hire someone to fake like his brother. Just as much as Bianca didn’t ask Cameron to hire someone to fake date her sister. They are both fiercely protective of their older sibling and that is why we constantly see Bison five steps ahead or paying attention to things that even Fadel isn’t. I think what adds to the story is that the stakes are much higher. In 10 Things you have a bunch of high schoolers dealing with pretty high school issues. But in this sense, you have people’s livelihood at stake. So I think it feels like so much more pain is being brought up than in the original media. It’s easier to find fault in Kant, Style, and Bison because we’re watching a bunch of people do pretty terrible things. But I think for this type of story, you have to kind of remove morals because all four are pretty morally gray. None of them are perfect people or, like in the movie, kids.

Transformers One has been living rent free in my brain for the last few weeks. It's definitely one of my favorite movies of the year and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it. I just wanted to ramble about some cool things that caught my attention here. Spoilers for the entire movie, and also I am pretty much completely unfamiliar with any other Transformers media apart from one or two of the live action movies, so everything in this post applies to Transformers One only.

First, the juxtaposition between Orion Pax and D-16's respective ascensions to becoming Optimus Prime and Megatron. Orion is deemed worthy by Primus, the god of the Cybertronians himself, due to his act of self sacrifice for the greater good. D-16, on the other hand, takes Megatronus Prime's cog by force, essentially deeming himself worthy. Which isn't inherently a negative thing, except his actions both before and after doing so are incredibly self-serving. He brutally kills Sentinel Prime without any semblance of trial or due process, prioritizing his own desire for revenge over rebuilding their society, even killing his own best friend who was pleading with him to consider the bigger picture. Megatron then doubles down on this when he orders the destruction of the city's infrastructure, putting innocents in harm's way and even looking like he might kill Bee and Elita, his friends, when they try to intervene. In fact, this makes him a direct parallel to Sentinel Prime, who also seized power for his own sake and whose actions were also destructive toward other Cybertronians. Like sure, tearing down every vestige of a corrupt regime might feel cathartic, but in the end it isn't constructive. It doesn't do anything to make the world better. Revolution is only as good as what it intends to install in the place of what was formerly in power.

In fact, there were already hints of where D-16 and Orion would end up in the scene after they see the truth of Sentinel Prime. Orion says he's focusing on what their next move should be, but D-16 berates him for getting them into this situation in the first place, accusing Orion of only thinking about himself. D-16 frames Orion's attitude negatively, but I would argue that this is precisely what makes Orion a good leader. Prioritizing the things that one can control, namely one's own actions and responses to external circumstances, is how we can change our future, whereas merely focusing on what happens to us or what others do to us, which we can't control, is an exercise in futility. Sure, Orion might be a little reckless at times, but his heart is always in the right place and he always takes responsibility for his own actions. He tells Darkwing that he was the one who broke protocol in the mines and he tells Sentinel that joining the race was his idea, fully expecting to be punished both times. And while doing the right thing can lead to negative consequences, especially in an oppressive system, they're clearly still worth doing. Even Elita, who got demoted because Orion broke protocol to rescue Jazz, eventually admits that saving Jazz's life was a net positive and rightfully took precedence.

That scene also showed something interesting, that D-16 might actually prefer living a comfortable lie to knowing the terrible truth of his reality. He gets angry at Orion for leading them down the path of learning the truth, despite the objective misery of their and the other miners' lives, because he was apparently advancing within the ranks of the system by following the rules and is upset that it's now revealed to have been all for nothing. He scoffs at the idea of revealing the truth to the rest of the city, claiming that no one wants to know the truth, but it's clearly just him projecting when it turns out that everyone immediately turns against Sentinel when the truth is revealed in the climax. This goes a long way to explaining why he persists in setting himself and the newly branded Decepticons against Optimus Prime at the end, despite himself acknowledging that Optimus is very much the real deal with Primus' undeniable approval in the form of the Matrix of Leadership. Megatron is so convinced of his own righteousness that he'll invent a conspiracy that doesn't exist to avoid confronting the reality that he might've been in the wrong. (Not to mention it's a little hypocritical for Megatron to go "No leader can be trusted. Except me, you should all follow me.")

I've also seen some speculation on why the High Guard didn't interfere when D-16 was challenging Starscream but tried to help Megatron fight Optimus, that maybe they just really believed in Megatron's strength or were themselves disillusioned with the "Age of Primes" as Megatron had put it. I think there's a simpler explanation: Megatron is a clear believer in their "might makes right" philosophy and was playing by their rules when he challenged Starscream. Whereas Optimus might well be mightier than Megatron, but he definitely does not subscribe to their beliefs and would not allow the High Guard to push anyone around no matter how tough they are. And it's hardly like they were knights in shining armor when they were first introduced, appearing more than a little like bullies to be quite honest. Just fighting against the bad guy Sentinel Prime doesn't necessarily make them good guys.

Honestly, Orion Pax/Optimus Prime is just so good. He's the one who goes back for Bee when the latter stumbles while they're all running from the Quintessons, he's the only one to protest when Alpha Trion tells them to leave him behind while they flee, and he never holds himself above anyone, willingly allowing Elita and D-16 to take the lead, kneeling down so he can speak to the other miners as equals after he's gained a cog and became a "transformer," and expressing his sincere gratitude to Elita and Bee for all their help and acknowledging that he'll continue to rely on them. His very first act as a Prime after defeating Megatron and the High Guard is to restore the flow of Energon and the miners' stolen cogs. He declares that "freedom and autonomy are the rights of all sentient beings," proclaiming himself a protector for all his people, no matter which faction they might've belonged to, against the Quintessons and any other external threats. Truly there could be no worthier successor to the title of "Prime."

I love this movie so much. Definitely looking forward to any sequels that might follow.

You might notice by now that I love giving some logics behind what was supposed to be pure magic, if I can. That's one of my ways to make this story concept a bit more distinct than the others, and also a way for me to fit in the original narratives. Because as far as I know, from spoilers of the webnovel/novel and game, and from the webtoon/manhwa and anime, the mechanics of healer class hunter's power is not widely explained and developed. It's like filling in the gaps/plotholes with what-ifs and all that. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. 🙏

So, let me clarify a few things about the current Reader's powers as of now (12/11/2024):

For AOE heals, buffs, and even enemies debuffs, Reader's butterflies already got that covered.

The butterflies' main power is inspired by the very nature of butterflies in real life, pollination. While they might not be as effective as bees in that regard, they still feed on flowers' nectar (enemies' lifeforce). When they do this, their bodies collect pollen (excess energy) and carry it to other plants (allies) to help produce new seeds (in the form of heals and buffs).

The reason I also choose butterflies instead of bees are for their physical appearance. Hear me out first before anyone could get mad.

I'm not saying that I chose butterflies purely because of their aesthetics, over the effectiveness of bees. What I'm trying to say is that bees' have visible stinger, butterflies don't. This fact plays part in the Reader's vibe of being beautiful but deadly. Illusions is one of the reasons we perceive something that were actually dangerous as harmless, it tricked us into thinking that something so pleasing to the eyes couldn't possible hurt us, yet reality says otherwise. As the saying goes, "Don't let the looks fool you."

Now onto the 'field of flowers' concept in what is as of currently the latest drafted chapter of my Trial Player AU.

Plants in general absorb carbondioxide (mana, or other versions of it, like the contaminated ones) and produce oxygen (lifeforce) in exchange.

Additionally, in my story, the concept applied is that living beings continuously produce their own mana while they're alive. If they're freshly dead, there will only be residue mana from being alive just moments prior, limited and will be dispersed into the atmosphere as time goes on.

To simplify: 'Lifeforce' is the essence of mana. Being alive automatically produce mana, hence taking just a small amount of 'lifeforce' sourced from living beings can be converted to an abundant amount of mana. However, while Reader can still take back a mana's essence with the flower field, the field needs to take a larger amount of mana (CO2) just to produce smaller amount of 'lifeforce' (O2) to then be used by the butterflies (conduits) in a cycle and for Reader herself.

Hence the scenes in my Trial Player AU rendition of Solo Leveling's Demon Castle Arc. The land are roaming with demons and the undeads, perfect for the flower field. Though there's a catch that I can't fully explain for now, the 'contaminated' mana of the creatures there. The current Jinwoo in the manhwa can't extract Metus' shadow for exactly that reason, and while Reader was still able to use that mana, the contamination in it will have an effect on her, as shown briefly at the end of the chapter.

Last but not least, your Samsara cycle idea.

Awesome idea actually, one I want to ask for your permission to incorporate this concept in the future since you're the one who brought it up. 🙏

As of you know now, the current Reader's power is limited. To use that idea of yours now would be to imply that Reader could've reversed wounds to heal instead of accelerating cells (or other automatic biological processes) and subsequently trigger <Decay> if too much was sped up.

The current her was already struggling with <Erode>, a spell that supposedly accelerate weathering (not an automatic process) that needs outer factors like water, air, sunlight, or the help of living organisms, in which she managed to substitue them with applying more mana, hence the cost, time, and focus she needs to use the spell.

To simplify, to reverse a wound would be to reverse the cause of that very wound, hence dominion over space is also required, not just time. To make a 'Samsara Cycle' as you described needed the same power of space and time. A limitation for the current Reader...

This has been something I’ve been thinking about for a while when it came to the other tf genres I write. Some may not know I do write MtF, animal tgs, and various other types. While I mostly focus on all things TG tfs. If this ends up taking off, I can definitely dabble in more.

While these ones aren’t usually my favs to write, MtM tfs are definitely something I could see coming around, and ALOT of people seem interested in some age transformations both AP and AR. But that’s a genre in my opinion that needs to be handled with ALOT of finesse and I’ve written them before with success but if there’s a demand I can definitely write some more.

This is a trial run. I’m keeping my one tier price cheap and you get everything I post. Down the line if I get a fair number of patrons, I definitely want to open it polls and such and make it much more interactive on what will be posted and just give me some variety and fun hahah

I love FTM but writing other genres helps FTM not get too static for me. I’ve been writing a lot lately and I would love everyone to see what else I can write. And having some interactive elements will be very good for me keeping everything fresh.

It had been a long trial, especially when facing someone you thought you had left behind after university. He was still the arrogant know-it-all that he believed he was, but you found solace at home away from the office where he often stopped by to bring coffee. You had no interest in his tactics to win you over, hoping you would go for a lighter sentence for his client.

But when a member of his client's family was murdered, leading to his client wanting to change his plea, that solace was taken from you as you went to the scene, and agreed to meet at your place to discuss a new deal now that his client was willing to fold on his employer.

Diana was sitting at the dining table when he arrived and she observed as you spoke on the sofa, paying more attention than you thought she did, and didn't like the way the man was looking at you, interrupting you to comment on your perfume or your hair. It was an amateur tactic to get you confused, but you remained focused on the case.

You left the room briefly to find a book you had been using for research and Sean arrived home minutes later, finding the man struggling to breathe due to his tie tightening around his neck, on his knees on the rug as he tried to free himself. Sean set his briefcase down calmly, taking in the scene.

"I found that book -" You dropped the book in shock, "Oh my god!" You looked at Diana whose eyes were glowing, "Diana! Stop it! Let him go!" You looked at Sean who stood with his hands in his pockets, a contemplative expression on his features. "Do something!"

You huffed when he didn't, and approached Diana, "Honey, you need to let him go."

"He wants to take you away! I won't let him take you away!"

"I'm not going anywhere." You told her. "Why would you think that?"

"I've seen the way he looks at you. He wants to take you away from daddy! Away from me!"

You looked at Sean for a further explanation, "He's attracted to you. Diana is very perceptive."

You turned to Diana, a frown on your lips, "I'm not going anywhere." You knelt down, taking hold of her hands. "Look at me," She looked away from the man who fell over, gasping for breath but you ignored it, keeping your focus on Diana. "I wouldn't leave you two for the world."

"Really?"

You nodded, "Really." You assured her. "I love you. And I might be a little annoyed with him right now," You looked over at Sean, "but I love him too." You met her gaze, "So don't ever think that, okay? I'll be here as long as you want me to be."

"Then you'll stay forever!" She hugged you tightly and you smiled softly, kissing her head when the man began to shout, drawing your attention.

"You crazy - what the hell was that? You people are crazy!" He continued to yell as he tossed his work into his briefcase and you knew he couldn't be allowed to tell anyone about Diana.

"Go to your room. I'll be through in a second."

She nodded, leaving down the hallway, and you gasped when Sean struck. You closed your eyes, opening them moments later to find the man unconscious on the floor.

"You really didn't notice he was attracted to you, did you?" His lips turned upward in amusement.

A year ago you would have run screaming, but you had adapted to the violence and the need for secrecy. Diana was powerful and although the blonde could be terrifying at times when she showed her powers, you couldn't let anyone who posed a threat walk away.

"I thought he was trying to distract me because of the case." You spoke in your defence.

"The only thing he was interested in was getting beneath that dress."

You gestured to the body in your living room when his eyes raked up and down your body. "Unconscious civilian in our living room!"

Sean dealt with it discreetly while you went to speak to Diana who was in much higher spirits. You knew that beneath all that power she was still a little girl who didn't yet know better, but you knew she was starting to understand that she couldn't use her powers on everyone she disliked - although you knew Sean told her different.

You sighed as you headed downstairs, running a hand through your hair, sucking in a breath when you nearly crashed into Sean who was coming upstairs.

"Where is Diana?"

He stepped closer so he towered over you, causing you to tilt your head up to hold his gaze. "Did you mean what you said downstairs?"

You nodded, "I know we started off casual but exclusive, but I think we're way past that now, don't you think?"

It was true. You had been on-off lovers for a few years, but in the last year, your relationship held deeper meaning. Feelings were involved although they were never discussed. Until today.

You closed your eyes when he kissed you, bringing him closer as he deepened the kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck. You bit your lower lip when he pulled away suddenly, hands resting on the nape of his neck as you met his gaze.

You knew it wasn't easy for him to discuss his feelings, hence why you agreed to a purely physical arrangement, believing it was better than nothing at all. And while you had entered knowing what you felt was doomed to be nothing more than attraction on his end, you didn't hesitate even if it meant being broken-hearted in the end.

"What you said downstairs," He wet his lips drawing your attention to them, leaning in as his gaze centered on your lips.

"About staying by your side because I love you?"

He nodded, and you repeated the motion, eyes half-lidded as he brought you closer until you pressed against him. "I want you to know that...I love you."

You leaned up, kissing him tenderly before pulling away moments later. "I knew before you did."

Sean raised an eyebrow, and you giggled when he shook his head, his nose brushing against yours. "Oh, you did, did you?"

You hummed, smiling as you ghosted your lips across his. "But I've waited a long time for you to say it. If I had known it was because of your daughter nearly killing the competition I would have paid a little more attention. Although it is rare that I see you acting jealous...and it's a good look on you, Captain."

Sean knew you were only teasing. You were like him. No one else existed, no one else registered on your mind except for each other. And neither of you planned to let go.

"You know Adalind is picking up Diana in forty minutes..."

"Are you suggesting what I think you're suggesting?" You asked.

"That depends...what do you think I'm suggesting?"

"An early night, body pressed against body, glistening with -" You smiled when he interrupted you with a kiss, placing a hand on his cheek as you leaned into him.

When you fell asleep next to him for the first time, the surprise of his presence wore off quickly as you settled next to him, not wanting to ruin the moment by asking if he was staying the night. He routinely left once you were both completely satisfied but that night he remained in your bed, and you listened to his racing heartbeat slow into calming thuds that lulled you to sleep.

Later that night, closer to the early hours of the morning, you lay in a similar position, your head on his shoulder, your palm resting on his chest, feeling the beat of his heart. He placed his arm around your shoulders and his fingers traced patterns on your arm as both your heartbeats returned to normal.

You felt him kiss your hair and turn your head to meet his gaze. You had dreamed about moments like this for weeks, and now you were living it.

"I love you."

A smile formed on your lips at his declaration, "I love you too."

Sean leaned down, capturing your lips, and you placed a hand on his neck as he rolled, hovering over you. You would never tire of seeing the raw emotion in his eyes reserved just for you. You knew that somehow, you wouldn't be left broken-hearted. And when he placed a ring on your finger he vowed never to cause you any pain, to love you until the end of days, and it was one vow he would never break.

I’m thinking about building a mini tarot community or tarot coven! Like I want us to share knowledge that others may not have, or may have a different perspective… kind of like learning from each other in a sense. Dashing out of the dressing room, I found myself wandering the mysterious building once more. Then, I heard the sounds of merrymaking.

MC: (The demons are holding a party in the hall. It's quite an unbelievable sight… I guess this really is Dreamland.)

Drunk Demon: Huh? Hey, There's a human girl here! Do you work here? You should hurry and get over here.

The drunken demons swayed as they approached. Just as I thought that I was about to be cornered…

???: Don't do that.

???: She's my butterfly. Try again elsewhere.

Drunk Demon: She's yours, Ryo? But we chose you, didn't we? You may be a lightweight, but we've yet to be satisfied with our drinks!

Ryo: I know. Give me a moment. Hey, come here.

MC: Wha- hey!

Leading me by the hand, we entered the linen room. Then, he turned around to look at me.

Ryo: Now, I don't know why you're here, but you should hide here till everything settles back down. There are a lot of unsavory people here.

Ryo: Don't just go following anyone even if they call out to you, got it? 

MC: G-Got it. Thank you.

He patted my head, making my heart skip the tiniest bit before he left the linen room.

I sat down. I could finally breathe now that I was well and truly alone.

MC: (If this is a dream… then I wonder when I'll wake up from this dream? This is getting a little tiring.)

I closed my eyes. A while later, I heard someone calling out to me. Startled, I looked up.

???: Ahaha. Oh! She's alive!

???: What are you doing in a place like this? Hide and seek? Can I join?

As I was watching the trailer I kept track of all the students shown during the trial

14. Jett

15. Damon

Toshiko was not there, and correct me if I’m wrong, but her spot in the trial circle, between Jett and Ulysses, is not shown

Assuming I didn’t just miss her, that could mean Toshiko is the first victim

I’m not sure who I think the killer is, but there are a few people I’m fairly confident it’s not based on their trial dialogue

Damon - hes the protagonist, he has privilege

Wolfgang - that kinda seems like a closing argument I think, I’m kinda on the fence with this once cause it could be him using his influence over the group to try and make them but vote for him, but I also think he’s gonna have a bigger role in the story than a ch 1 killer

Jean - I don’t think he’d have said that if he was guilty

Grace - her potential beef with Tozu seems like something the game would explore more, plus her possible dynamic with Wolfie and Damon could be pretty important

Diana - her trying to play the peacemaker or whatever seems like it could really make her start losing it later on in the game, it would help stir discord in the group, thus I think she’ll survive till a bit later

Eloise - this one works under the idea that Wolfgang’s statement is in the closing argument, if it is, she looks way to calm to be the cornered killer

Eva - cause I really don’t want it to be her /j but I still really hope it’s not

I also think it might have happened in the boiler room that shot that says CAUTION, is (I think) the way down there or some part of that area, I’m not 100% sure I didn’t go back and check the prologue

And the note to Damon?? What could that be, and would he really go to somewhere if he was called by a note?? In this situation? With this group of people? I kinda doubt he would

I wanna know what anyone else has to add, or if there’s anything about my suspicions you disagree with, I wanna hear anyone else’s thoughts and theories if you do have them, I’m kinda leaning towards Cassidy, cause of the focus she seems to have in these trailers despite not having dialogue in what we’ve seen of the trial, I’m sure she’ll talk a lot either way, she doesn’t shut up, although she also seems like she might be the protag partner, which would be fun, her dynamic with Damon would be great, I also think maybe Kai could be the killer? Idk why he just seems lowkey suspicious, and there’s that shot of him in the beginning of the trailer, really hope it’s not Damon, Grace or Eva, I think I’d actually cry

Obv this could all be deliberate to throw us off the trail, Toshiko not being shown on purpose as a red herring, a flashback to the prologue maybe showing someone that’s not actually there, this feels like just pointing out the obvious, but I’m highkey not smart enough to actually predict anything interesting, and I’m sure there are way better predictions than this, but who knows

And can we talk about the chameleon in the poster?? What does that mean?? Diana?? What’d you do girl??

Why put Jett and Cassidy on the poster? Chat do we think it’s random or deliberate?

Also there are free times !! I can’t believe anyone wants to hang out with Damon’s ass
