Okay so I just finished watching Cottbus Kopflos and Vincent is officially an Office Princess. Rogov and Wiktor are fighting to get his attention. It's great.

Now, for the episode itself... (spoilers ahead)

Well... It was quite strange. The writing is a lot less smooth than the previous ones. The way Vincent and Alex interact during the entire episode, like they're not sure how to even talk to each other? Very strange, and there's a lack of natural banter (there's some good bits though). I get that they wanted to make it look like the situation is professionally weird for them, but they're professional, they're capable adults, and it also felt like they tried to "tone them down" a little bit.

When Vincent first met Adam, who was very reluctant, it was a lot more natural and flowing. Alex is a nice person, she's positive (for what we know at least), and Vincent is also an open character. I expected them to find more things in common than what this awkward duo gave us.

I should also be used to see a previous actors from the same show in a new role in German shows, but I have to say that seeing "Lydia" was weird. And at first I really thought it was her but no. It's an entirely different character. Strange choice considering Alex and Vincent have Adam in common.

This episode still gave us some really nice shots of Vincent. Also, the ring is still there, very much in view, and still not addressed. Even less backstory in this episode.

In the end, we got more character development with Rogov, Wiktor and Marian! We got to see, even briefly, how they work together, how they get along (kind of). It was great to see Rogov and Marian be less confrontational, and even nicer to see how Rogov and Wiktor act like when it comes to Vincent. Very cute. And yes, Vincent telling Rogov he misses him (as in here) was unexpected. And very cute. The trio back at the border station should be more present on screen next!

so im not sure if anyones interested, but, i went through quite a bunch of totk critiques by people who were also very disappointed with it and thought id share my favorite videos i found (granted, i only really wachted those that youtube recommened and its mostly .. white men... things like the orientalism problem are not mentioned at all for example, maybe ill update this post if i find any more diverse voices)

i dont agree with every single point and also dont know most of the channels (aside from the big zelda theory guys) so i judged solely by what they mentioned in those videos and the quality of it (like the audio .. bc i cant listen to bad audio)

in no particular order, also they talk about or use footage of the literal ending stuff so if you arent done with the game yet, better leave these for now

(the following one is a podcast thing by multiple zelda theory guys, there some stuff you can skip at the start thats just kidna random things, but the video is marked with chapters)

(theres some mention of some things not making sense, like the sonau only being two, and ithink thats kinda bc the english translation was weirdly vague about that, in the german version its much more directly said that they all died out and only rauru and mineru were left of them;

also mentions of how unfitting it is to call the enigma stones "secret"stones in english might come from a similar thing; in german they where called "Mysterienstein" which would be translated as mystic/mysterious/enigma- stone

just wanted to mention that since the vast majority are gonna play it in english only and the stuff online is also dominated by english)

im sorry is there any straight explanation to spocks character arc in the motion picture??? or am i missing something???? he mindmelts with the machine and- as hes clinging onto kirks arm- tells him how v'ger is just a cold logical machine and it'll never understand this simple feeling (what simple feeling spock. wHATSIMPLE FEELING.) (spock has just come back from the ritual which purges vulcans of all emotion, making them only logical beings). hes so overwhelmed by this realization (hes JUST about to cry. ive never seen him teary-eyed im unwell) that at the end of the movie he decides to forego kolinahr completely. oh and this insane arc and life changing decisions are never really verbally adressed btw.

do you think the reason agatha’s trial felt weird is because she was the only one who did not actually buy into the mythos of the road since she knew the truth? like that was why no perspective change and all the other reasons why people thought it was a fake trial

dude nightheart and sunbeams entire relationship is so funny. if I felt like digging through other books id make a compilation of these moments. No, Nightheart will not be by Sunbeams side to help her through the invasion of ShadowClan. Nightheart will almost get violently executed in RiverClan, and Sunbeam will only show up after the problem resolved itself (off screen). Sunbeam doesn't even feel like grieving with him around.

this entire arc, every major problem required them to ~sadly~ separate, and then reconvene for some generic niceties after its all over. I really thought, at bare minimum, the reason that kept happening was going to accumulate in them doing SOMETHING major together in the climax of this final book, like, 'something something our relationship can survive all the plot inconveniences that kept us apart bc this event proves why we're stronger as a team blablabla'

but no girl, their asses are NOT stronger together, they are not supporting each other through anything, they are not working together to accomplish a single goal. right to the end, every one of their greatest physical/emotional trials must be done separate

like. like it's incredible. the most go girl give us nothing relationship development of all time. i cant even find it in me to be mad. they are so lame it loops around into comedy. is this a prank why did they write it like this help

i cant lie, im also beating myself up about not being able to get excited for the new game, or anything anymore it seems, while it can be fun to criticise things, some things you just dont like so badly that the frustration knowing it could be so much better but isnt and you not able to change it outweighs any fun- i dont like being a 'hater', i hate totk, but not bc i hate zelda but bc i LOVE it and want it to be better (though im starting to doubt my ability to do anything good with it too..)

and with the new game trailer (like, i still hope its better than im fearing rn) i feel similarly as when the next totk trailers dropped after the first one (which DID excite me), all of them gave me a sense of dread bc it seemed to go into a direction i wouldnt like, i tried to tone that voice down to enjoy the game, but then .. i was right

i dont want to be an annoying complainer about everything new, but maybe i am and i dont like that thought, i dont want to spoil anyones fun, i want to partake in it :(

just imagine charlie being the only other character in the hotel to understand Alastor's sayings and gripes about the modern world. She's even older than he is, those two could have so much to talk about. I'm still fairly young but I have plenty of gripes about the modern world, I just know those two old ladies could find something to share lol.

I adore Charlie and Alastor as characters, and I adore your art! All of your art is damn cute to me, it's great! I need more of charlie and alastor interacting and being silly in my life, romantic or platonic doesn't matter to me lmao.

You are just like me for real 😭 when the pilot came out I was so intrigued with Alastor and Charlie they immediately clicked for me and became my favourite pair of the show (tho now that the first season is out all of Alastor's other relationships stole my heart lmao but I still love them a lot) the "big bad villain who initially wanted to manipulate the sunshine character ends up accidently getting attached to them" trope is like one of my favourite tropes ever and they have the potential to become just that so I'm really invested in what their storyline will be I'M SO EXCITED

AND YEAH the fact that the hotel was already so has-been looking before Alastor showed up makes me think Charlie is similar to him, she's more up to date than him regarding new technologies ofc but I just know my girl loves vintage stuff ahah

(Also I want them to have a duo song in the next seasons SO BAD no offense to Heaven 2 Hell I love this song but I need something new it's been 4 years lol)
