Though i feel if wof had holidays/more than one mentioned festival Arctic would hate most of them. Honestly, like my guy cant get away from reminders of the ice kingdom for the ones that take place during the winter, and the warmer ones are just gonna be hell for him. Litteraly and figuratively.

Like easter? Eggs, a reminder of Darkstalker and Whiteout, essentially something binding him to the night kingdom. Festa junina? Takes place during the peak of summer and hed be surrounded by an event that screams nothing about his home.

The only holiday i could possibly imagine Arctic even being close to liking would be, like, Holloween, and you know what, yeah, me too.

Honestly, would the ice kingdom even have that many events or holidays? Idk something about the rankings and "Holloween isnt something someone in the first circle would do" because its not useful to their kingdom in some way.

i feel like we’re finally at the age of information transparency on the internet that studio head execs are showing their own asses in an unprecendented way. like we all knew they were bigoted old farts who hate minorities and animation as a medium BUT now we have the entire hbo max tobacle, and that’s only the most obvious.

recently two tv shows for wings of fire and phoebe and her unicorn were cancelled– the first because of netflix budget cuts and the second because “nobody wants to watch a female-led show.” as for the latter, that’s so obviously not true that it’s laughable, what with basically every disney animated show being female-led and extremely popular incl. owl house and amphibia, legend of korra being revered rightfully for its badass queer woc main, the female-led infinity train seasons being just as popular as the male-led, my little pony getting a terrifying number of fans... i don’t even have to explain this to y’all i don’t know why i am, it’s just obvious that isn’t the case. the reason i lumped it in with wings of fire though is it shows that these execs literally have their heads so far up their own asses they don’t realize that they’re literally throwing away money. both wings of fire and phoebe are EXTREMELY popular with their target demographic– i work at a library and go to bookstores like, once a week, and wings of fire is THE kids’ series right now– every library and bookstore has a dedicated shelf just for it, every kid in the us and canada reads these gay lil dragon books. i don’t know much about phoebe but i do know that i have to shelf her graphic novels every goddamn day so they’re getting checked out constantly. making these shows would give these studios an immediate HUGE audience but they don’t want it because.......... ???? honestly the only thing i can think of is bias against animation, but also i do know that while WoF is very cishet in the first few books, later books add quite a few queer dragons and that could def be a reason. 

netflix also recently told craig mccracken, creator of some of the most beloved kids shows of the 2000s, that “original content doesn’t sell anymore” and they need to do reboots and remakes instead. which is funny coming from the company that made stranger things which, while nostalgia-bait for the 80s, is an original fucking story. also the owl house and amphibia are disney’s top shows rn. the most popular kids movie right now is encanto, a completely original story. and that’s just in KIDS MEDIA, do i need to bring up the popularity around everything everywhere all at once, squid game, the knives out franchise, etc? we’re in an age of remakes and reboots yeah but original stories can still make money and gain fans if you make a good fucking product. but netflix doesn’t care about that, as evidenced by how fast they cancelled first kill and also every other show that was good.

and idk what it is but something about the state of the internet right now means that we’re all seeing this in a way we hadn’t before. we’re all seeing how fucking dumb these execs are– well, dumb or actively malicious. or even trying to commit corporate suicide for some reason. it’s just interesting to me that all this is happening now when in the past we were just kinda like. stuck with whatever we got

my dragon that I made in 2021 or 2022!! i hated painting them but i love how its so light because i made it out of armature wire wrapped in tinfoil on the meaty parts and covered it in clay, very easy to transport, its lighter than the catnessa sculpture

also funny thing is that i finished painting it (gave up and just called it a day) last year around the time as i made the croc because i gave up on painting it all in 2022, the bottom was mostly white because i didnt paint it, the eyes i gave up on, etc

its kinda like an icewing from wof with its spikes, but i just created a regular ol european dragon

and finally the dragon something pot pet (i forgot the name but we had to make one) i made in third grade 💀

dont make fun of him guys 😭😭 at least you can put water into his mouth and itll go into the pot thingy

Okay I wanted to talk about something that I've been thinking about for awhile

Okay, uhm- God I'm bad at starting these

I dont think we should ever judge someone for being a proshipper

And, I know, a few of you (maybe?? I feel like most of the people who are going to see these are going to agree but for those who dont-) are going to be like "well Echo! Its wrong! Those things are digusting!"

and, yes! The content of things in proships are disgusting, I will not fight that at all. I'm not advocating for those things or defending those things irl at all! However, that doesn't mean the people are.

Let me explain.

I used to think proshipping was terrible (which partly because I first heard about it in the wof fandom on the wiki, and they're strict af about it), but recently I met someone irl. Let's call them C for the sake of simplicity and anominity-

C is.. an interesting person. They're my friend and they're nice! But they often talk about- interesting things. they're openly a proshipper, at least to me and my friends. It really turned me off at first, but as I got to know them more I realized they were relaly, really traumatized. And I realized there is a really good chance this just a way to cope.

Now, even before this I had been fine with people who did it to cope, but was still disgusted with people who were doing it just because they found it interesting. But recently I realized that.. you can't relaly tell the difference-? Unless they tell you directly at least. If you just see their art of two characters you have no clue why they did it. And even if you ask, if they are doing it to cope you could bring up some really bad memories.

I guess what I'm getting at is that I've come to realize that we should just.. leave people alone. We don't know why they do things, or what they've been through. We shouldn't try to cancel anyone or harass them for proshipping, because they may have a reason for it. Or they don't, but you don't know that.

I mean- proshipping isn't terrible in general ig-? Idk, I just don't think about it. I've just decided I dont care about what people ship. But for people who do, who are absolutley disgusted by the thought of it, I hope this helps to sway you to just.. leave people alone. Block them, block the tags, and move on.

Hello im. Sorry to bother you but I see you on my dash as "the will wood person"(well also the tf2 person and the wof person but that doesn't pertain to this) and was thinking about listening to his stuff but idk where to start do you got any recommendations?

Okay, so recommendations. It's...really quite difficult to recommend stuff from Will because a lot of his music is quite varied and it kinda just depends on what music you've already listened to. If you've gone down the Jack Stauber, Tally Hall, or Lemon Demon path, chances are you're going to be somewhat on board with his music.

Will Wood is an experimental music artist who never exactly sticks to one sound. He said he doesn't quite like it. Self-Ish, his second album, he considers a concept album due to the fact that it's mostly grungy and rough vocals with frantic and wild instrumentals all with lyrics spouting stuff relating to a singular theme. However, if you ask me there are some things about him that stick out as being "Will Wood".

Piano. A lot of his songs have piano. In some places, what other songs would have as a guitar riff, is a piano bit. Piano (along with the baritone ukulele and also occasionally glockenspiel) is his main instrument.

Jazzy instruments. Saxophones, trumpets, all that. In his latest main album, In Case I Make It, Will forgos that sort of jazzy tunes a lot in favour of more calm and folk songs, but they still linger.

Tons and tons of lyrics. Will's lyricism is one of the main draws of his music to me. He often writes about his own experiences with his mental health and struggles in his songs. Themes of mental illness, being loved despite being human, and generally just being a person trying to get through this messy, cold world.

Yeah that's about goes for the constants.

Okay, so, depending on your music taste, I don't know how to quite recommend stuff. His newer album, In Case I Make It, is a lot more folksy and softer than his previous work. It still has that Will Wood flare, but just with less loud screaming matches between Will and an alto sax. His earliest albums (Everything is a Lot and Self-Ish) are more edgy and dark with those grungy and gravely vocals. The Normal Album is a middle ground.

I personally believe the best way to experience Will Wood is to listen to the albums, but for individual songs? Here's some ordered from softer to more intense.

Rhythm games in general. I LOVE THEM!!!!! I've been playing them since idk, maybe 2019 or something? And they're very fun. Though, if you do count gd as a rhythm game, then it would mean I've been playing rhythm games since 2014! Woah! That's very cool,,, ngl,,, my favorite rhythm game is Pump It Up, I remember playing it once in a Chuck E Cheese's from here and I replayed it again this summer. Is so fun!!!! thoughts abt darkstalker now that i am no longer ten years old

everyday i sit and think "oh yeah darkstalker went off the deep end it's his fault he's kinda racist" and then i remember that his father never seemed to love him despite being able to love his mother and sister and like did that not get to him???? no it doesn't justify shit but given that he knows abt how rigid the icewings are and his dad apparently doesn't have the capacity to love his own son (and i guess his daughter properly bc he did make the analogy that arctic sees whiteout as a necklace, you know an object) for no reason he probably thinks they're all heartless.

oh also did arctic reallllllly love foeslayer or was he just longing for an excuse to get out of his royal duties or whatever? because he's absolutely miserable in the night kingdom and makes no move to try and adjust and be happy. like i thought this is what you wanted buddy i thought you didn't want ur life being controlled. because suddenly he's soooo miserable he tries to bring whiteout back there. like god damn you are such an asshole idc if you loved your wife you sure as hell never acted like it.

oh and ALSO darkstalker wanting a redo of his family with clearsight so he can be happy? he views her as his only option to be happy and have a family with. on the one hand it's really cute how he's only willing to have her and that he literally could not cope with her death in like book ten??? (gimme a break I dropped wings of fire after they introduced the lost continent or whatever) he's literally sort of a yandere with the earrings and stuff, and listen i love my yandere men but i digress, he would have never hurt her. even in the cave he probably could have seen it coming but no he trusts her more than anything like god damn when is it my turn??? these two were so loving and healthy while it lasted, the fact that there were some futures where clearsight is his queen makes me believe that she would also do unspeakable things for him and that's what makes her decision so much more heartbreaking :( in the same way the fact that there were futures where they had their little teehee domestic life with their kids suggests darkstalker could let go of his racist ass conquest for her??? I KNOW DARKSTALKER DID WRONG BUT BY GOD HE LOVED HER. I want a love like theirs (the cute soulmate high school sweethearts part obvs)

idk what prompted this i was just thinking about how much darkstalker and clearsight were tragic (yes darkstalker's choices were bad, i meant tragic in the "a thousand different futures, a thousand different ways we can be happy together but this one still happened" sense. damn clearsight had it rough) and then i just... thought. which is a dangerous think i should not be allowed to ponder under any circumstances.

anyways about my past with wings of fire, i think the series has kind of fallen off but this shit was my childhood like this was everything to me. i read book nine in ONE DAY and i made a fanfic with OCs with my friend i was dedicated. next to percy jackson, wof was my top dog until i got into anime and video games

Alr alr he’s a Mud/Sand and basically the story kinda separates from canon at some point (before Gordon’s hand is cut off) and Gordon finds his escape out of BlackMesa but loses the Science Team in the conflict. He has a bounty on his head due to… ermmm the killing. Me and my friend have only written to the part where the bounty hunters have lost him out in the desert due to Benrey running into them. Btw Benrey is following Gordon cause he doesn’t have his passport. I’m thinking about a situation where Benrey asks the bounty hunters(who are starscream and knouckout from tfp :333 but like dragons) about their passports cause Gordon’s like “What about them!? They don’t have any passports!?”

And they pull out the passports and Gordon’s like “THEY DONT EVEN WORK AT BLACKMESA” :3333

He’s a Rainwing and hes so so so so sillay but also hes like an animus but… not. He alters the world around him(like with the passport things) without him consciously doing so. It just happens. He just causes it. I also think he’s got some orange spots and loves freaking out Gordon :333

Also the skeleton :33 appears and like i think the bounty hunters kill benrey and Gordon’s like “damn” cause this is before erm :333 Gordon hater arc and the skeleton appears, like a rainwing skeleton had to create one but it was super siper fun, anyways teehee :333

Oh also the story follows about roughly the same structure as the original hlvrai but a bit different.

Tommy, He has firescales and I think slight animus to reflect on him creating sunkist and his sticky trigger finger. Also firescales works differently. I think firescales skywing have semi control over their firescales but sometimes it burns out or burns too bright with emotion or something else. OH OH he’s also a skywing :3

Sunkist, He/She cause I confused that dogs pronouns and i love both he/him and she/her sunkist idk dog pronouns kinda cool. Anyways, I’m not sure if she is actully a golden retriever or maybe a huge ass silky/feathery wyvern(i would have them draw him to actually like convery this idea

Gman, He’s like Benrey he shifts the world around him but like… he knows what he’s doing.

Dr. Coomer, he’s an ice/hive :3333 giving him punching gloves cause idk why but like when hes drawn with boxing gloves it remidns me of the time I created Miku with punching gloves in gang beasts. I love Miku with punching gloves, literally so cool I think about her a lot.

Bubby, Ice/sand, kinda like Dr. Coomer I don’t have much on him yet ☹️

Forzen, haven’t planned on adding him yet but will be added at some point. probably and Icewing or something idk his name reminds me of frozen. Maybe an ice/night

Darnold, I think he’d be a rainwing or skywing or maybe both cause of his orange and the soda im now thinking about orange soda fukcing rotating orange soda in my mind like… yeah thhis is so so so cool, like forzen, not yet planned in the story but will be added :33

Anyways— most of what complicates/makes me doubt whether I even could be this character is the fact that. I already do selfshipping. And I have a whole universe that I’ve spent a lot of time and energy on! Part of what leads me to believe I might be him tho is this feeling of like. Personal offense? At some people’s opinions on ‘me’. And I don’t know if it comes from that self-shipping side or a kin side. Or if I’m just weirdly attached to my own view of the character.

I’ve also had the thought that maybe I am the oc I use for self-shipping but I don’t know how that could work because they were also a self insert so!
