saw a tiktok and wanted to this myself, so…

my mighty med/lab rats/elite force lgbt+ headcanons

(including all the roles i wanted to add, not just the mains)

Kaz:

- Bisexual, very open and casual about it, (Often refers to himself as gay because it comes naturally and the difference isn’t that important to him)

- Cis guy, but he also doesn’t care that much (as in he would wear a skirt or dress, he just doesn’t)

- Doesn’t come out, he just lets people figure it out (“If you don’t know I’m gay yet, that’s on you”)

- Not afraid of getting into yelling matches or fights with homophobes for himself or his friends

Oliver:

- Trans ftm (come on, you guys also watched Oliver Hatches The Eggs, right? They were trying to send us a message!)

- His mom had refused to believe him at first, but when he didn’t stop claiming he was a boy no matter how many specialists and doctors she brought him to, she just accepted it

- She went full ‘you’re a boy’ mode, and he wasn’t allowed to do anything she considered slightly girly at all, (he was just glad she didn’t hate him, but now he’s very afraid of seeming feminine because he thinks people won’t see him as a guy anymore)

- Sits the Elite Force down to come out, but he works himself up about it and is so filled with nerves that he starts crying (the others panic thinking something is seriously wrong)

- Kaz is the only one that knew from before because they’re best friends

- Bonds with Chase about being trans

- Gay with comphet (because of his mother making him believe that was his only choice)

- Because of that, he hasn’t come out as gay (because he doesn’t know he’s gay yet), and sometimes he comes off as slightly homophobic (also due to the fact that he has very fragile masculinity and thinks guys can’t be feminine)

- The others get mad at him, but he doesn’t mean anything bad, his mom just kinda sucked (and it’s hard to shake some of the things she’s told him)

- Very afraid of homophobic and transphobic people, which is why he takes so long to come out to his friends

Skylar:

- Bisexual with a preference for women or lesbian with comphet

- I like her and Oliver so I hc her as ‘Doesn’t really care because it’s not a thing on Caldera’

- Cis girl

Alan:

- Cishet

- Idk what more to say about him

Gus:

- Gender fluid

- Pan maybe? I imagine him swinging every way because he really doesn’t care about gender

Horace:

- Cishet

- Supportive, but very confused about everything (he always uses the wrong labels when talking about someone)

Jordan:

- Cis

- Aromantic (She thinks it’s gross)

Stephanie:

- Cishet (Though she does kind off have a weird thing for Gus so I’m not so sure)

- Will hang out with gay people just because they’re gay so she can seem like a good person

Tecton & Megahertz:

- They’re gay and dating (I think this ship is kinda funny so… it’s canon)

- They’re both cis

Captain Atomic:

- Cishet

- Slightly homophobic

- Also very misogynistic

Chase:

- Trans ftm (the constant joking about his height and how girly he is in lab rats? A Sign.)

- Came out when he was very young, he always knew

- Raised in a basement so you’d think he didn’t know about transphobia for a very long time, but he did, (Mr.Davenport talked to him about it and he researched it thoroughly)

- Bisexual

- Tries to avoid homophobic and transphobic people, and just ignores them, but it doesn’t always work. Sometimes he’ll just take it because he doesn’t want to fight, and it makes the other worry about him a lot

- Other times, Spike comes out and he goes crazy on them, and people leave him alone for a while after that

Bree:

- Lesbian with comp het (she thought she was straight because that’s all she knew, and then she thought she was bi because she liked girls, but then she realized she didn’t like guys)

- Cis girl

- Will verbally kill a homophobe

Adam:

- Everyone assumes he’s straight, because he never came out as anything else (he just doesn’t really care about coming out at all)

- He mentions something about a guy he likes/dated back in high school and everyone is super shocked

- “I thought you guys knew”, - “We thought you were straight!?” - “I never said that either” - “fair enough”

- Cis guy

- He’s not transphobic, and only makes those jokes about chase because he genuinely forgets chase wasn’t born a boy. (Chase thinks that makes him his biggest supporter even if the jokes sting)

- Will beat up anyone that says or does anything mean to his siblings about it

Leo:

- Straight

- He/They (idk if that counts as non binary?)

- Would start fights with homophobes and then realize he’s fucked and needs help

- Got bullied for being gay even if he isn’t, definitely came home after being picked on and trying to hide his injuries from tasha (who notices and calls the school right away)

- Will still start fights with homophobes, now knowing that he can take them

Marcus:

- He’s an android so technically not cis, but he’s a guy (he fucking hates it/its pronouns because he’s not just a machine)

- Aromantic & Asexual (he’s very indifferent to both relationships and sex)

- Doesn’t really do relationships, but if he did, it would be more like his partner in crime (real crime not pranks)

- If he did get an evil sidekick of sorts, he’d probably be gay

- Will claim to have any gender of sexuality if it’ll help him out of anything, no matter how small

- Will also accuse anyone of being homophobic if it helps him in any way (Douglas hates both of these)

- Outing someone is the one thing that he doesn’t do (Douglas is so proud of that one)

- Will start a fight with anyone at any time, and realizes beating someone up for being homophobic won’t get him in trouble sends him on a mission to find every bully at school

- He claims it’s just because he won’t get in trouble, but Douglas knows that deep down he cares (because he does get in trouble at school, just not at home)

Donald:

- I want to say cishet, but trans ftm is calling my name from afar

- Straight and borderline homophobic (he supports the people he knows and cares about, but in itself he thinks homosexuality is wrong)

- Will use his kids sexualities to look even better in media, with no regards for what they feel about it (They hate it)

- Outs people, but also tells his kids he’s proud of them no matter what and supports them, so they’re not very sure what he really thinks

- He’s just weird about it

- Will pretend he didn’t hear the homophobic or transphobic comment toward his kids if it means avoiding a conflict

Tasha:

- Cishet

- Very supportive of everyone

- Calls out homophobes and tries to inform everyone she knows about how important it is to be an ally

- Starts a group with some other moms to show support (the others think it’s a bit much, but she’s just being nice so they let her)

Douglas:

- Bisexual, but evil about it

- Strictly dated other bad guys/villains that he worked with, so most of his relationships sucked and ended badly (see; Krane and Giselle)

- Trans ftm

- Has a lot of kids, but honestly doesn’t know who any of their dads are

- I want Adam, Bree, and Chase to have the same dad, but I also kinda wanna say Adam has a different one, and that Bree and Chase are twins

- Daniel has another dad again, and Douglas realized he couldn’t raise the kid alone, so he had him adopted to keep him safe

- Will piss off a transphobe and run away from the fight

Perry:

- She/They

- Will rip a homophobe to pieces without breaking a sweat (she also knows a guy, so getting rid of any evidence is easy)

SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Tbh, I've thought about this a lot, but never wrote it down as a proper headcanon; I'd like Data to represent the minority and state that he's aromantic — he's possibly bordering on the asexuality spectrum as well. And as for his preference, he doesn't have one; not only does his programming prohibit him from discriminating between genders and withhold him from engaging in favouritism, he's also genuinely fascinated by everyone. In other words, he doesn't nurture a strong preference for a specific gender. However, since he's aromantic he's not really interested in pursuing a romantic relationship with anyone; it's primarily friendships he's after, familial or platonic.

RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Data is a single bean, just living his best life with his beloved cat.

When i was writing it i also kept think about blindfolded Hawkeye, all evidence really does point towards him loving it...

He really does get lead and pushed around so often, I'd love to see someone's take on how it contrasts with his control and responsibilities as chief surgeon. Even outside of surgery, the contrast of him being with someone and then having a nurse or doctor coming in to ask for help or giving him an update on a patient and how he can swap between both mindsets ect.

I firmly believe that Hawkeye would valiantly try to be had by all of the nurses if given the time and opportunity. And any attention is good attention is the sort of mindset that Hawkeye would take and then promptly act like a terror until he got the attention he wants. I feel like he wouldnt have to do this with bj as much as others but he does anyways just to be a problem.

Margaret's a strange one bc it would make sense considering her personality and Hawkeye's interest but like, idk. I think its too much of a contrast in my head from his refusal to show her respect as a major, their relationship in the later seasons (in my head) hinges so much on their views of each other as equals and i think the power dynamics would be a mess.

Its kind of funny how they have Hawkeye acknowledge how sexist some of his actions were when i feel like i always remember there being more women in those earlier seasons. I might be misremembering but i feel like if theyre going to do that they could at least make female characters more core. Like not every woman has to be plot relevant to be featured.

Aro Hawkeye my beloved <3<3 I get him, he loves his friends so much it hurts and also is so so horny. He deserves to be held gently and then absolutely railed and then held again.

I’d originally put your message into bits and was answering them one at a time, but then everything started being about a few of the same things, SO

trust me this all comes from your message 😂

This post: aro Hawkeye 🤝 aro Margaret and my actual dream relationship on the show (or, you’ll never guess where this meta/headcanon is going, or maybe you will, idk)

ALSO KNOWN AS: I make the argument that Hawkeye and Margaret are already in an aromantic life-partnership and so her occasionally topping him is really just a part of the benefits for both of them (but also I barely make the latter half of that argument, I’m sorry, I go all over the place with this one)

I think (and I mentioned that in another post) that Hawkeye being chief surgeon and Very Good at his high-stress job is a feature in this entire (somewhat jokey, but also haha kidding... unless... you know?) headcanon -- lots of people with those kinds of jobs want to get to shut off any decision-making/responsibilities outside of that space and we see that a lot with Hawkeye (in a non-sexual sense). He really really hates being in charge when it’s not about the job

I just rewatched Carry On, Hawkeye and I love how there’s that scene where Margaret is like “I should be in charge now” and Hawkeye basically goes “absolutely, have at it,” but because she’s so used to him being contrarian and bitchy with her, she thinks he’s arguing that she shouldn’t

and it gives us this interesting line:

and then in the same episode having just given Margaret the reports she needed, if we’re going for the “Hawkeye and strong women/Hawkeye and I’m just a little guy/Hawkeye and putting himself on the table” well...

literally.... on the table....

(Margaret if you’re in charge you have to get used to a lanky weirdo lying about on your desk, that’s just who he is)

and then of course:

S I R (mr alan alda, you cannot tell me this guy has never been topped by a woman (we leave domming out of the discussion for today kids, but youknow.. it’s Margaret, she of the riding crop and vibrator))

Anyway this takes us neatly into “Margaret and Hawkeye” territory...

1. first there’s all this stuff around sexuality and gender and romance and relationships happening between those two -- Margaret and “sir” and incorrect womanhood leading her relationships to not work and being openly sexual (and highly suggested dominating), Hawkeye and calling himself “aunt” and being a motherhen and all the being pregnant jokes, and being stepped on jokes, and “joking” about being married to men, etcetcetc --

of course the crux of which is that amazing conversation they have in “Stars and Stripes” in which it’s made textual how similar they are in their ideas about relationships. One of the main reasons I like to hc them as aro is that the way they phrase it is so... vague.... they can’t pinpoint why it never works out for them, time and time again, other than “they can’t change who they are,” and they’re looking for a “custom fit,” but at least with Hawkeye he’s been shown to “fall in love” with people very fast (Erika, Kyung Soon, Inga, etc) and (due to the nature of syndication) get over those relationships again/fall in love with someone new just as fast -- and a note on Erika is that he’s literally suggesting marriage and she’s the one to shut him down (in an also very aro way)

not to mention Carlye whom he proposes to have been in love with for years/never gotten over, but when given the chance for a do-over doesn’t leap at the chance... again because of vague “you choose your job over romantic relationships” reasons (any aromantic who can relate to that reasoning/has literally scoured for historical people who were described that way, raise your hands)

with Margaret you do get the sense that she’d wanted these relationships/that she invests in them, but that the men can never accept her as she is (which Hawkeye does -- and he doesn’t even do it on purpose, to begin with they’re scratching and clawing at each other as we all know), so you see, she’d love to be in a romantic relationship if only she were a completely different person, but alas she can’t be and so she’ll never be a correct woman (again, any aro who’s felt that connection between brokenness and incorrect gender and aroness raise your hands...) and to stretch that one even further, the imagery in “Dreams” of her in the wedding dress with those bodies of men in her bed and the miscarriage-looking blood-stain, it’s all... very evocative of that same incorrect/broken woman, who will never get those things that society promises are what brings happiness that she won’t have and maybe doesn’t even want, but what’s the alternative being offered here?

dead bodies and a lifetime of being alone?

2. I think it’s interesting that you said that because Margaret’s and Hawkeye’s later relationship hinges on them being equals that the power dynamics would be a mess, when that respect is actually the very thing that makes me think of them being perfect for each other in this scenario – there’s a lot of trust and vulnerability that goes into that, especially considering aforementioned gendered expectations and the ways they both already fuck around with them, and how well they know each other at that point. And if I’m gonna take “Inga” at face value, Hawkeye isn’t as out about his (in this headcanon) preferences as one might have thought, so being vulnerable with a stranger? Or someone who isn’t as under his skin as Margaret is?

What I do wonder about is whether later seasons Hawkeye is… all that interested in sex? Overall? Comparatively? Sure, there’s the occasional “Hawkeye has a date” or “Hawkeye does some flirting (with friends),” but – I will go more into this in my next post about women in MASH – when he talks to Marina in opening s10 about how he’s not treated women right in the past + has seen too much to ever be wide-eyed again, it is both good reasons to blow her off, and also something I definitely read at face value.

It also goes into something someone said on a post (I’m sorry I cannot remember where) about how later seasons had less sex, but also less homoeroticism hand-in-hand with that, but also that it’s just that the tone is overall – for Hawkeye more than any other character (he frequently gets The Narrative end of the stick, while everyone else is having a bit of a laugh) – less light-hearted at that point, and also it may have had to do with how they wanted to write the women who did come on the show (again, for next post). My point is that it all adds up to make him seem both Really Really Tired and Much Less Interested In Sex, and then as a consequence gives it a fun read of maybe he's less interested in sex, because he’s so damn tired?

In that scenario is he looking for an occasional fun time with his good friend Margaret Houlihan who maybe would step on him wearing heels (a thing he has canonically lamented her not doing at one point on the show) if he asked nicely and called her sir? Or is it that by the time they become good enough friends that he might trust her and she might trust him with these sexual and gender transgressions, he’s not in a place to try and make anything like this happen at all, because he’s just… tired?

But overall, I do think out of anyone at the 4077th… except for maybe Klinger (and also Sid, if we’re going beyond-but-adjacent), Margaret is the person who might be able to accommodate for Hawkeye the best, and Hawkeye might be able to give Margaret something she doesn’t entirely know how to balance with other men (the one downside is that technically Margaret would wanna be doing something like this with a guy like Trapper – bigger/more traditionally outwardly masculine, but it’s not like she doesn’t find Hawkeye attractive/I don’t think it would be a total dealbreaker – anyway, also smthinsmthin Hawkeye and Margaret are often attracted to the same kinda guy… as for women, I think Hawkeye is pretty broad, while Margaret likes Strong Women (similar to the men))

Meanwhile Margaret, it feels like, has prepared herself for this lifetime of loneliness, except she’s got this family all around her and maybe this guy who’s also not looking for normative relationship structures and is also Not Correct in vague, unspoken (queer) ways. But maybe, again, around the time where it could conceivably be going on, neither of them are in that headspace or maybe they can get each other out of the more tragedy-filled-careening-towards-the-end-of-the-narrative headspace, I can’t say for sure until I’ve finished the show

and speaking of that unknowable space...

What about after the show then?

3. So here’s some stuff I can’t know until I’ve finished it -- I don’t know where Hawkeye ends up and I don’t know where Margaret ends up (or anyone else for that matter), but I do think they’re the two characters who are the most conflicted at this point and likely will be right through to the end

Margaret has made a choice to not get into a romantic relationship with anyone unless they understand her as she is, and so to all intents and purposes has practically sworn off romantic relationships -- this is also framed as her putting her career first, although not entirely. It’s more like she’s putting herself first, but also… there’s something there that doesn’t quite fit. It’s certainly more possible for her to stick with the military than to conform to a housewife ideal, because she’s been with the military her whole life, but she also no longer idealizes what it is and stands for. I really do wonder where she’ll be by the end and I sort of assume she’ll stay with the military, but I also read that somewhat through the lens of disappointing, but expected romances.

Because she’s changed a lot. I don’t think the military really is her home, but I don’t think she knows of anywhere else to go. So I wouldn’t be surprised if she stays with it – I think it would be in character – I just think it would be bittersweet. Better than a marriage, but also not as good as she could do if she could unpack some more of those vague ideas that niggle in her brain (it’s queerness, but not just that, but this read of her is based around that aromanticism in particular).

And meanwhile Hawkeye is just a mess. Idk, I can’t see that changing. I also can’t see where I’d place him after the war, because I can’t see him as okay in that movie-lotr Frodo Baggins Can Never Go Home way. I can’t see anyone as technically “okay,” but I don’t think he has anyplace where he could go to attempt what people call “resuming a normal life.” Hell, I’m not even entirely sure I could see him continuing as a surgeon (that episode with the surgeon who completely breaks down is uh… well, it’s not there for nothing). Similar to Margaret, but with added PTSD, there’s all that Vagueness niggling at his brain, which maybe angers him, because he already knows he’s a big ol bisexual who falls for married men, so what gives? And he doesn’t even have a fallback like the army. At best he might simply be a surgeon or a general practitioner, but you know… The Horrors. I can’t see him as anything but haunted for the rest of his life

And so thinking of a dream scenario where they both somehow make it and it’s not just “trying to get by (trying to get by in the army, trying to get by back in Maine, trying to remember what “home” is supposed to be)” I’m like… what if they just moved in together and tried to deal with the Vagueness together, same as they’ve done multiple times on the show?

(And sidenote I maybe should’ve gotten into earlier, it’s so interesting that their romantic travails are shared with one another more than any other character -- Hawkeye is the person who knows the most about what was going on with her and Frank/Don/Sully, and she knows about him and Kyung Soon, and the aforementioned Big Conversation about The Revolving Heart Of Korea, which is said by Margaret, but is really the both of them)

(sidenote: Hawkeye is consistently the person who makes her smile like this the most)

(other other sidenote: “double-solitaire” ought to be codeword for queerplatonic aro partnership?????)

Margaret is the woman (maybe even the person) that Hawkeye knows best/has Hawkeye’s number and has done from very early on (but now she’s incredibly fond of that nr), Hawkeye is at least 10% of Margaret’s perfect man, it would be a great beard for the both of them, and they’d be able to draw a lot of comfort from each other.

And you know... they See Each Other and don’t expect the other person to change the core of themselves to fit, and they could challenge one another to become their most truthful selves better than anyone else could

early seasons Hawkeye would have been SO up for it, but Margaret would not + it wouldn’t have been great for either of them I think? later seasons Hawkeye may have been too depressed for sexual frolicking and Margaret was going through an identity crisis, so idk, somewhere in between all of that somewhere?

it's the way i see them and draw them, you don't have to agree! this is based on both the musical and the movie

CW: mention of suic*de and e*ting disorders (bulimia) as well as various mental illnesses

Heather Duke

• heather duke is aromantic and yes its because she wears green, have you seen her socks in the off broadway musical? /hj

• more seriously, she IS aromantic but it took some time for her to figure out. she is allo but she doesn't label her sexuality, and she was always confused and frustrated to experience sexual attraction but never romantic attraction; she had a hard time accepting this part of herself.

• post heathers: maybe she discovers about non binary identities and asks her girlfriends to test out they/them pronouns on her? idk? aro-agender duke?

• she also struggles with empathy as she is naturally apathic

• and she's putting this image of a cold mean girl because she believes she can only be that given she's aro and ND

• post musical: she had no idea mcnamara actually tried to commit suic*de and when veronica tells her she breaks down in tears and spend a few days writing an apology letter to mcnamara

• post musical: mcnamara helps her to develop her compassion, knowing it's not her fault she's incapable of empathy. she didn't have to forgive her, but they did, and it really motivates duke to become a better person and be as nice as her

• she gets bigger as part of her recovery and learns to embrace it

• they use she/they pronouns!! just because. she still identifies as a girl though

• mac is autistic of course, it's like semi canon in the musical

• since she's very tall (movie) she stims while standing like being on the tip of her toes or rocking back and forth and the others can be quite annoyed because she moves a lot but they never snap at her

• post musical: veronica finds her stimming endearing and they know it's safe to stim around her, especially since veronica stims herself

• post musical: mac hums as a stim too and you can often find macnamawyer snuggling on the floor while humming in harmonies together

• she used to mask a LOT and it played a big part in her depression. she knows they had to stop themselves from stimming when she was a heather, she had been the weird kid in middle school but now that chandler took her under her wing, she has to pretend to be NT in order to stay in the lifeboat (😭)

• she's a lesbian!! of course she is

• she knows it since she is in middle school and has been """gal pals"""" with chandler since them but she still struggles with it she has comphet yk, but still less than chandler

• chanamara definitely practiced kissing together "to be ready when we'll have to kiss boys" 👀👀👀

• chandler always had a soft spot for mac and tried to hide it by being cruel to duke

• post musical: it took mac some time to understand that duke had nothing against her personally. she was chill with them until chandler died. from that moment she had to prove herself as the new queen bee and mac was a collateral victim

• duke definetely gave her trauma though and mac is in the process of trusting her again

• mac themselves is not a cinnamon roll just yet and she still has to make up for what they've done to others

• mcnamara has nicknames like mcNcheese or macaroni (veronica came up with those)

• they're also a vegetarian and she loves yellow food

• like she ever only eats yellow food actually (autistic thing). that girl is deficient! part of why she looks that fragile and thin

• also i see mcnamara as mixed race with golden/light brown skin and they have this type of curly curly hair but she straightens it all the time so it's only just wavy (once again, to blend in with the heathers)

• her natural hair colour is actually a dark strawberry blonde? her dad is irish and he's a redhead that's why (stole this from @cam-eats-candles hehe) but she dyes it so it's lighter

• post musical: she starts wearing her natural hair!! and goes with her mom to the afro hairdresser to start to get her curls done right (cornrows mac!!)

• their parents divorced (movie) and it's for the best. mac has daddy issues and only goes to her dad to get cute jewellery for their girlfriends 💖 (he doesn't just sell engagement rings. a lot of regular expensive rings, really)

• she's not a baby, she's not weak nor completely innocent and pure!! the girl is a head cheerleader, she's strong and flexible as hell.

Heather Chandler

• heather chandler is Also a lesbian BUT she is on the ace spectrum like demisexual? so yeah she's double disgusted when she "sleeps" with men

• as a queen bee she's also convinced that the only way to exist is through male validation :(

• chandler is taller than duke and veronica but shorter than mac

• chandler's skin is like rosy and it freckles very easily. i see her with the same cloudylike hair she has in the movie, dark blonde, with the red scrunchie only holding back some of her hair

• she is Buff and is genuinely into sports (lesbian jock like regina george)

• she has a sharp hourglass shape her shoulders are broad and her legs long and strong. she could lift veronica against a wall easily. and she did

Veronica Sawyer

• ADHD!! she's been diagnosed for a while but only became medicated post musical

• bisexual!! so bisexual!! without a preference. she's always been open and proud about it and her parents are supportive

• for me veronica is brown, with thick and dark hair and dark brown eyes, midsize, average height

Martha Dunnstock

• that's canon i know, but she's fat, and not the socially acceptable-hourglass kind of fat. big arms! big tummy! double chin! (i see fanart of her just being chubby quite often and it's ANNOYING like that's a big part of her character)

• she's perfectly healthy like this as are many fat people :))

• i also like the hc that her attempt at sewer slide made her permanently disabled and that she keeps using a wheelchair! because it happens, it's important to show it, and it gives me a lot of ideas for cute kindergarten girlfriends prompts 💓💓

• of course realistically being fat AND physically disabled in the 80's was and is not an easy thing to go through but it's in my head so

• she's also a tiny bit taller than veronica

• i don't hate the outfit she wears in the off broadway show, but I like her west end outfit better!! it's a lot more 80's inspired and i totally see her in kidcore/clowncore etc, even if pastels are cool too

• i'm not comfortable with hcs that exclusively babyfy her or patronise her like a bunny rabbit just bc she's a fat outcast who likes unicorns!! she's not just cute and giggly! martha can and does swear and she Fucks, like mcnamara

So apparently this is a thing? People have creepypasta headcanons. I thought I'd try it, beggining with sexual orientations. Now these are just my opinions, take them with a grain of salt, these are just my vibes from them.

Slender: Asexual, Aeromantic, Greysexual, or like just extremely Demisexual. He would have to really know you and you'd probably have to have a few things in common with him. You'd have to know his work schedule on when you can visit or talk in his free time (not that he has much of a free time to begin with). He'd most likely want someone who could help him with office work similar to how his proxies would, as well as the other things like gifts or compliments. But he probably wouldn't pick up on it at first.

Splendor: Pansexual Demiromantic. This dude likes almost anyone, would make friends with almost anyone. But would probably want to get to know you first. Would absolutely be able to tell if you had feelings for him, and would be fine with it.

Trender: Honestly idk some people depict him as sassy and outgoing while others depict him as reserved and quiet? I'd have to say like Aerosexual or Demisexual. He'd probably like someone who's into some kind of design? Not necessarily fashion design but could be. He'd be into a lot of things you wouldn't expect.

Offender: You know this dude is Pansexual Panromantic all the way. He does not care. Would do anything with anyone or anything given the chance.

Decided to do my OC's as well? Just for context for you all?

Raphiel: Heterosexual Heteroromantic. My guy is Orthodox Catholic, so...

Radkiel: Homosexual Demiromantic, my chaotic and mental surgeon doctor

Brutus: Asexual Aromantic, hates almost everyone and everything. Will absolutely criticize you and insult you. Unless your into that.

Dimitriy: Demisexual Heteroromantic, is very cautious of others and would have to really know you before getting serious. He's also Orthodox Catholic.

Syonder: Demisexual Demiromantic. She has a lot of friends but isn't really too much of an outgoing person. Isn't necessarily interested unless she knew you for a while.

Somil: idk he could be questioning

Lucas: Homosexual Homoromantic, legit he is simping for Trender's attention.

Some Death Was A Temporary Inconvenience chapters that I've got cooking (note, cooking here means that I have actually begun writing them in the google doc)

Doctor: Probably 5, but could work with an Doctor after (and possibly including) 4. Something to do with the fact that one of the most common reasons a companion (mainly female ones) would leave is that they fell in love with someone they met on their travels and worries that sooner or later Marion is going either leave or want to leave and be unable to and later resent him. He wonders if he and Marion should fall in love so that doesn't happen. He tells a companion about this who quickly tells Marion who quickly says "he's spiraling and doesn't need to do that" Idk if this one will ever get posted because I'm worried people will get the take away that the Doctor actually has romantic feelings towards Marion or that he's directly trying to manipulate her when the side story is actually a result of me thinking about how while I don't know that I necessarily headcanon the Doctor as being aromantic, the whole "long term companion leaves after spending two (2) hours with a guy she just met and deciding she wants to stay with him and stop traveling with someone she's known for Much MUCH longer" thing feels aro-coded to me.

4. Are you romance favorable, neutral, or repulsed?

when i myself am involved i’m 100% romance repulsed, the idea of being in a romantic relationship makes me sick. certain things that have more romantic implications can also make me uncomfortable but i’m also touch adverse a lot so. when dealing with romance in media it fluctuates. i obviously enjoy shipping characters and i watch hallmark movies a lot. but it’s complicated anything could trigger me to be romance repulsed and not even be able to interact with fictional romance. i read fanfic a lot too but i tend to enjoy the build up to a relationship more then i like when they actually get together. idk. but i don’t really enjoy romance in movies. like i watch hallmark because it’s predictable and fun to make more interesting with weird headcanons and jokes but i wouldn’t watch a regular romance movie. i need romance in small doses between like friends and family and interesting plot.

16. What confuses you about typical romantic relationships?

idk. a lot of it. like i understand it in concept but i think my biggest confusion is that people hold their romantic partner above all other people in their life. people will say that they care about other kinds of relationships the same it’s just different and that romantic love isn’t more important than any other.. but at the end of the day, it doesn’t seem like people really feel that even when they say it. idk amatonormativity is confusing and the worst.

yes definitely. i didn’t understand people dating in elementary school or having crushes. i was like uh aren’t we kind of young like what does any of that mean do you even hang out outside of school? this is fourth grade? and then once middle school happened people were dating more and i still didn’t get it but i also didn’t really think about it. i was going through a lot and was in and out of doctors. also i was the kid that would be asked out as a joke or a dare so. in high school i realized i was aroace but my best friend started dating and it was just confusing. i guess you could say i’m still kind of confused. like i get it but i don’t realllly get it. love is a weird thing for me it’s just like a word i use for something or someone that means something to me i guess? like love means something to me but also it’s this mysterious thing idk

Reverse unpopular opinions: Ace headcanons!

Okay, so I’ve just realised I don’t. Actually. have? many ace headcanons of my own and I should probably unpack that at some point. Or not. Does that matter? IDK, now I’m spiralling.

A N Y W A Y.....

Obviously, Ace headcanons are great. It doesn’t detract from a canonical romantic relationship to headcanons one or more of the people involved in it is asexual -

(okay you know what? I keep writing things out with a lot of different caveats acknowledging that I understand that sex can be an important part of a relationship to people and that I very much respect that and that we need to be careful not to write over that with asexuality, and then deleting it because I’m not sure I’m wording it right, and trying again, and then deleting it again, and. I’m just giving up and just: Sex can be very important for some people and that’s very valid of them! but also, ace can be very important for some people and that’s equally valid! )

-I don’t know why I’m finding this post so difficult. Where were we? Ace Headcanons are great, right.

One of the nice thing about Ace Headcanons is that it means I can take sex out of the stuff I don’t want there to be sex in. For example: I do not want sex in my Doctor Who, ever. Therefore, as far as I am concerned, the Doctor is ace. All of them. Every single incarnation ever, but ESPECIALLY TEN. ACE, ACE, ACE. If I’m feeling especially Acey then Donna is ALSO ace and she and Ten fly around in the TARDIS being Ace Best Friends FOREVER. Not Sorry, I Do Make The Rules. (the TARDIS, incidentally, is also Ace)

If I headcanon Richard 2 as ace I’m talking about Shakespeare Richard, not Historical Richard. ....I know that might seem like a very blurry and non meaningful separation, but it makes sense in my head. Basically, it’s like: I have two Richard dolls and they’re virtually identical but they have some superficial differences (Shakespeare Richard gets to make his Usurpery, Jerk-Face cousin look like a tit in front of all the other nobles. Historical Richard is very jealous.) Anyway, if I’m playing working with a Richard doll and he’s ace, then it’s Shakespeare Richard and you can rest assured that Historical Richard is still off in the back of my mind being gloriously bi with Robert and Anne (and also, Shakespeare Richard will probably be be being gloriously bi with BBG, Aumerle and The Queen at some point in the near future too).

Do I have any evidence that Elizabeth I was ace? as much evidence that the writers of that play about Francis Walsingham had that she was secretly fucking anyone mildly attractive and in possession of a working penis, which is to say No, Bog Off, It’s My Portrayal Of Her and I’ll Do It How I Like, Thank You. As long as I’m acknowledging that it’s historical fiction and not historical fact, it’s nbd.

Finally, I just want to say- I’m doing a MA course and this semester, there is not a single text on the syllabus of either module that doesn’t involve sex in way. Last semester, I sat in a lecture room listening to my (wonderful! I love him!) Authurian Lit Professor talk about how Tennyson’s beautiful depiction of a thunderstorm in one of the Idylls was hugely suggestive of sexual intercourse taking place, and the rest of the class nodded around me and chimed in with their thoughts on the matter while I sat there going ????????????????????? and struggled to understand how the HELL they even thought about trying to get sexual suggestions out of. The Thunderstorm. (There wasn’t a single text on that module which didn’t involve sex either, which. DUH. It’s King Arthur. Lancelot and Guinevere gonna Lancelot and Guinevere.) My other module was Shakespeare. It was up and down on the sex. We were focusing strictly on leadership/management so it only came up specifically in Richard III and Anthony and Cleopatra. I don’t doubt that if it had been more generally focused, and the class had consisted of more people than uh. just me. there would have been way, way more sex talk.

And I don’t think this is a bad thing, per say. But sex seems to saturate like. 99.9% of the literature or the media that’s out there. If it’s aimed at teens upward, there’s sex in it. I read something aimed at 8 year olds the other day (the fifth book in a series I’d loved when I was 8 ,but had never gotten my hands on past #4) and I was shocked to realised how relieved and joyful it made me to be reading something that not only had ABSOLUTLEY ZERO SEX, but also only barely hinted at the idea of romance (You should all read The Princess School. And then come talk to me about how Rapunzel is clearly an aromantic genderfluid lesbian who uses She/Her or They/Them pronouns depending on their mood. Sleeping Beauty is also a lesbian and will one day be her girlfriend.) Anyway, the point is. Asexual headcanons carve out- not a safe space, exactly. I’m not sex repulsed, exactly- in fact I normally find it interesting and enjoyable to discuss/read/write* about as long as it’s between fictional** characters. ...A quiet space, perhaps? Yeah, a quiet space where for, like. However long I want to stay there I get to think about whatever the hell I want and sex doesn’t need to intrude At All and doing this is- if you will pardon the pun-

right???? i mean when i was younger i did have “crushes” but honestly, when i look back at them the ones i had in primary school was either a) a popular boy that all the girls had crushes on or b) a guy who i could potentially befriend and he was so cool i wanted to know him. at the time i didn’t even have anyone pestering me about who i liked bc i had One (1) friend at the time who didn’t care what i thought lmao but i told myself i had those crushes bc i wanted to fit in w the rest of the kids.

and yikes that sounds hard. like, honestly i really do not know if someone confessed that they had a crush on me. i’d probably be flattered on some level? but i’d also be HELLA nervous, probably decide that i’ll at least try it but eventually they’d get disheartened because i never initiated anything. (oops that sounds like how my literal one relationship happened that i never count bc we didn’t have a crush on each other at first until my friend told him that i had a crush on him when i didn’t. and he asked me out bc of it.)

honestly that’s a mood??? i feel like that’d be completely ideal, because as much as i love being on my own and i’m pretty independant, financially that’s not stable at all. i’d love to have a QPP that i can just,,, relax with. decide that i’ve had enough of being on my own and need to lay on top of someone like a cat decides to curl up with another cat. wouldn’t want to share a bed tho bc i can never sleep when sharing lol

nice! and hnkk yeah queer is deffo a good label. personally, not for me. i like calling the community the queer community instead of the lgbt+ community because it’s more inclusive that way but personally i feel like if i ever label that myself people will assume that i’m alloromantic because we live in an amatonormative society, but it’s a v good term. lol what are the odds! i’m not currently on track to receive a diagnosis of adhd just yet, it’s smth i was considering officially getting pre-covid times and then doctors are like “medical emergencies only” and so i’m just kind of,,, waiting for covid restrictions to ease before officially getting that diagnosis on the way. but like. on the down low bc even though my cousin got diagnosed w it, i’d feel like i’m attention seeking by telling my family i have it without an official diagnosis. but yeah rip it’s gonna take me forever to get it.

HARD SAME. i am. just so WEAK for family focused fics, they’re just. god i love them so much. it’s just. why does the allure of romance compell people so much when you can read about this gruff adult taking one look at this hurt child and think “time to find those adoption papers”???? like FORGET the shipping. i’m gonna get sucked into the 940th found family fic i’ve read ever.

(tho i do actually like some ship fics, they have to be well written and not involve the characters i headcanon as aromantic though, otherwise i will close out of that fic so fast. an annoyance in the mha fandom when 85% of the fandom views aizawa as gay and married to his best friend,,,, they just love to shoehorn that side note in there when it has no revelence whatsoever,,,)
