i've felt iffy about only three choices (all from inquisituon, most from a dlc) carrying over since it was released but hearing someone who got to play the game say "the appearances of certain returning characters are going to feel pretty hollow now knowing that they don't know their own past" which. yeah i knew that but worded like that it hurts a lot. we have a morrigan who doesn't know anything about the warden. who may or may not be under flemeth's control. morrigan who cannot mention her potential son.

Watching original Kamen Rider and there is something so just like innately charming about all of it. Like you could make the argument that yeah a lot in terms of creative aspects like choreography or cinematography or special effects is outdated or of poor quality but I honestly think that the way they go about using what they had at the time is really impressive. There’s a lot of genuinely really neat costuming and camera shots and use of lighting or specific effects and it lends itself to a very enjoyable experience in my eyes. Also I like Hongo's actor a lot

#things i understand and appreciate more now that im#older#also thr whispy episode is neat its a very charming episode :3 tokkori is even neat here#this is also literally the only environmental episode i think i care about. besides maybeeee the crow one idk#it feels really weird and rude to say this but god i do not care for the environmental episodes#like. this first one is okay because its the core of the episode but it doesnt smother it if that makes sense#it becomes a massive player in the second half while the first half is more subtle#and its a good way to introduce whispy#its a great way to establish how much fumu loves the environment and her planet and how she wants to protect it#and like. most of the episodes are well intentioned and i get that japanese kids media especially wanted to lean into environmentalism#bc iirc there was a big movement there around this time#the problem is that there are so many of them and all of the ones after this are soooooo boring#like theyre mostly interchangable with the first whispy episode tbh. at least from what i remember#and they have the subtlety of a brick to the face and they get so preachy about it that it takes me out of the episode#again it feels mean to dislike them bc theyre well intentioned and its a good message but they just get suffocating#as a kid i was always like ‘’oh yay ill watch this episode today- aw damn its another whispy episode’’#echoed voice#hnk liveblog

i kinda forgot how mochizuki does expressions so well that they speak more than texts in an image
esp for someone like oz who has identity crisis going on for him that he doesn't really care who he is as a person so long as it makes others happy (the way later he could care less if people see him as jack the hero rather than just oz)
but the shock in oz's expression as though he had been read so clearly by sharon's words.
also idk it never crossed my mind while i was rereading, but i love that this is just in chapter 2 -- that things would go bad if oz should ever lose sight of himself
bc that's the gist of oz's whole character arc, inching away from just being whatever people want him to be, shying away from his emotions, and accepting himself and what it means to be himself - emotions and past - alike.

scavenger reputation sure is confusing
#my posts#gameblogging#liveblogging rain world#im currently playing as rivulet and its been a blast#rivulet is so fast and jumps so high and can swim for so long#just zooming through the entire map its so fuuuuuuun#i did use a setting to make the cycles longer bc i despise short cycles#but idk i havent really interacted much with scavs this run#i just went to moon and now im trying to get through five pebbles somehow#but i keep getting progress on chieftain passage???#i did go through shaded and i gave the merchant two pearls which prob helped#but why am i getting progress when i havent seen a scavenger in like 10 cycles#but yea this campaign is interesting bc half the world is basically the same#with just more water n shit#but the other half is so very different its obvious that this is set at a different time#i can't say i love how much swimming you need to do#but like i said playing as riv is extremely fun and there's a lot of lore so yea i love it#if this ends up being really short ill prob try saint too#and then ill prob be done...

reading springfest now after everything in nagazora is making me crave more fu hua and mei interactions. i feel like thus far in my go through, i've never actually seen them interact, but it's kinda fun that the person who made the recommended reading order put springfest after nagazora (though of course this is probably in preparation for whatevers going on with senti/fu hua rn in ch 19)
but the way that the empyrea isolates herself so she doesn't have any attachment to those who she will outlive and how she winds up becoming lonely as a result threw me back to mei isolating herself in world serpent so that she can protect kiana and just... idk..... i think the two talk about that isolation would be interesting
also. i love fu hua. she's still at the top of my list for best character so i'm just a happy little guy getting more fu hua content now in the story :> yippee fu hua
