1. What OTP's in your fandom(s) do you just not get?

Gotta say Obitine. Uhh... I didn't get it when I first watched the cartoon, and I hated the implication that they gave Obi-Wan a romance to make Obi-Wan more 'human' (something I've heard other people push on the narrative.) I do like that it kind of showed the choice between being a Jedi and being in a commited relationship, but beyond that nothing. I also don't really like how most of Satine's whole story is determined by her romance to Obi-Wan. She's killed because of their relationship, most of the arcs with her surround the 'are they still in love and going to get with each other' narrative, and frankly it bores me. I am personally not into shipping in general, and I prefer more platonic and familial relationships like the Jedi-Clone and inter-Jedi relationships, so ships are kind of meh in general to me. I also didn't even see the appeal of their 'romance' tbh. They just seemed to argue a lot, and their confessions kind of came out of nowhere to me. If they did love each other, it really must have been a long time ago. I don't see it working?

Uhmmm off the top of my head are a few that I don't get, but I don't feel as strongly about. Qui-Gon x Shmi (never really understood why?), Rey x literally anyone lol (especially not our genocidal buddy kyle), Rose x Finn (not developed enough and then completely forgotten lmao, Ahsoka x Lux (ok this one is basically a notp tbh. Just... ew), and basically every Obi-Wan ship that I know (look he doesn't need fucing romance ok.) I didn't really want to go in depth with these because if we did heh yikes, we'd be here forever.

I mean Anakin cares more about his feelings to Padmè than Padmè herself, and I feel like Padmè wants the clandestine romance vibes that come with being married to a person who is meant to be a neutral party. Especially during a war. Anakin's willingness to commit genocide for his 'love' for Padmè isn't a large sweeping romantic thing. The idea that he'd do anything for his love is pretty scary and I'm pretty sure Padmè, to some degree, knew of it. The fact that she continued to stay with him and live this double life means that she doesn't care about the consequences really. Idk I just feel like this relationship brings out the worst in both parties. The fact that Padmè is willing to deny that Anakin's fallen even when Obi-Wan comes to her door and tells her that Anakin killed Jedi could be that Padmè doesn't think Anakin capable of doing such a thing, but due to the fact that she was with him for the Tusken massacre and the whole Rush Clovis shit (and probably other tcw I don't remember) makes me think otherwise. Imo, I think that had the war ended and Palps been aprehended and everything gone well, their relationship would not have worked, because a large part of it was the fact that it was a secret thing, and that Anakin was not with Padmè that much. I don't see it working without outside factors imo, but whatever.

And, similar to many things, a lot of anidala fans are not willing to confront this truth that their relationship is built on lies and deceit and therefore will not continue to hold strong. So many of them ignore how Anakin broke his oaths as a Jedi to be impartial and place others over single people, and we all know that he did not do that when it came to Padmè. I know a lot of anidala fans aren't like this, and I'm not particularly vehement about this. This notp is more me not wanting to read anidala fics or see anidala art, and I've filtered it out. But yeah, some fan's vehemence that this was the one true thing and that if Anakin had been able to love openly (like he could... he just didn't have to be a Jedi to. Dang he really wants to eat his cak and have it too) and whatever he wouldn't have fallen just makes me... cringe a lot. Also I can't really separate what their relationship caused with the relationship itself.

Oh... uhh... this one makes me nervous ahhh. Well there are a few that I don't like as much as most people do and only a couple I hate hate. I really hate our lovely boy kyle. Jango Fett too. I mean, I haven't read any of the books featuring him, but I'm gonna say it. Jango decided to enter that contract to create the army of clones. Essentially, he signed them up for the army in that contract with Dooku, so idc about your 'but he'd be such a good mand'alor and dad to the clones' bs, because he really wouldn't. He's incredibly selfish, and idk a lot of people seem to think he's the next best thing since sliced bread. I guess I should add Bo-Katan as well, because she's very hypocritical. the whole 'shouldn't you care about my sister' thing was not a good look because Bo-Katan, who helped bring the group of people there to destabalise her reign and kill her? Godddd it’s so hard to measure. Like they’re all insanely talented in their own ways. Did we literally ever see them actually acting in school plays? I’m pretty sure every school musical scene was just... a song. And then there was like, the mattress commercial or the Christmas special which was just funny and cheesy but I wouldn’t call it good acting lmao. Anyway that’s a weird place to start but there’s like the “triple threat” of acting, singing, and dancing and apparently none of them can act in universe so we’ll cross that off the list

Kurt Hummel. And it’s not just my bias for Kurt, the best character of all time. I really do think he is one of the most talented members of the club. I mean every single one of his solos is a knockout except I’ll Remember I don’t like it as much it doesn’t matter if it’s just him and his voice in front of everyone, or if he’s running around and dancing and jumping on pianos in a pair of gold pants. He can do big and bombastic and theatrical, he can do soft and subdued and dramatic. And his VOICE. He’s up there hitting notes some of these other girlies haven’t even heard of. And they didn’t let him sing in that low register as much but when he did?? Amazing. Plus I mean maybe he wasn’t the best dancer but he was trying. He did his music video recreations and was doing Single Ladies as well as the woman who literally danced back up for Beyonce to that song lmao. He took ballet lessons, he could play piano, he was very skilled at making his own fashions, he could twirl batons and sai swords, he even wrote some of his own stuff. I mean come on my boy is just talented all the way around

Mercedes Jones. For sure I have to put her on the list. Like they barely let her dance but idc. Her vocals are enough to make her the most talented member. She could blow anyone else away with just her voice. And she can do anything she wants. She can do pop, soul, r&b, showtunes, hip hop, original songs. And yes she is criminally underutilized in general, but every single song she’s in? Would not be the same without her. Also I don’t really count the acting but she totally killed it in Rocky Horror and her look and attitude and stage presence was just to die for. I just can’t make this list and not have her on it

Blaine Anderson. Okay maybe this is also my bias but idc. I mean you’re not gonna tell me he’s not talented. He’s got a great voice, great versatility, he’s just got so much good energy. I love all his upbeat poppy songs when he’s dancing around all excited, and his slower and more toned down somber songs. Also we know Darren can play literally every instrument known to man but I think we just saw Blaine on piano and a little guitar. Still, very talented. And also Darren was just about the only person who actually sang live on the show, so that’s definitely noteworthy. Blaine’s just such a charismatic and captivating performer and I love his stage presence and everything he can do. Which is good cause we got so much Blaine (:

Some honorable mentions bc the whole cast is mind blowingly talented and it feels unfair to leave so many out:

Artie. One of the absolute best male vocalists, even tho the other boys hardly gave him any competition. And like Mercedes, instantly improved every single group number he appeared in. Also a great dancer. And it’s funny that they cast one of the best dancers as a boy in a wheelchair (: But he still killed every dance performance he had

Santana. I just love her voice and all her solos. We’re tooold she’s one of the best dancers even tho she’s lacking from some dance heavy numbers but who cares. Santana still has her own moves. Also she’s literally the one we see succeeding most in the show?? In her commercial, in Kurt’s band, on BROADWAY, and featured on Mercedes’s album. Now come on now

Brittany. She might not’ve been the best vocalist but she was the best dancer by miles and miles. And every one of her numbers was a PERFORMANCE. Even I have to smile when she’s singing. The fact that they used her one whole time in a competition performance is just. electric chair for will

Rachel. Obviously I can’t leave her off. I think she has an amazing voice, I just don’t think it’s as dynamic or versatile as some of the others :/

Tina. Her voice is super underrated but so so pretty. Plus she can also dance. She was dancing to Single Ladies, she was choreographing tap numbers with Mike and she got no credit for it. She can also play piano. And her voice was really interesting and different and unfortunately I think she sounded great in every song that got interrupted (:

The hate Blackpink gets is driven by internalized misogyny and here’s why

Blackpink. Basically the biggest girl group on the planet and one of the biggest groups in general, dominating the charts worldwide. Blackpink’s comeback, “How You Like That” broke world records for most viewed video in 24 hours and debuted no.2 on the Billboard charts. I’m sure “Lovesick Girls” charted as well or the same. The first kpop group to perform at Coachella, Blackpink have collabed with too many western artists for me to name (actually, I could probably name them but I could care less about some of these western artists so I’m not going to). I mean, not really a surprise, Blackpink has been breaking records since their debut in 2016. There’s not even really a point in introducing them to you since there’s literally no way you don’t know who they are.

Now like many celebrities, the more famous you become the more hate you get. I hope everyone knows that this is just bound to happen regardless if your favorite celebrity has never done anything problematic and consistently produces bop after bop. However, BP get some of the worst hate I have seen towards a kpop group and most of it coming from kpop fans and blinks themselves. I’ve heard it from my close friends, from randos on stan twitter, and from locals. So, I have a bone to pick with y’all haters because I truly don't understand.

Let me start with saying that I’m not a blink. I’m kinda far from it. I like bp and I will definitely click on their stuff when it comes out but I am in no way shape or form an actual stan. I wouldn’t buy their stuff or cry over their achievements, though it does make me somewhat proud. But even though I’m not a blink, I find myself defending these girls whenever someone tries to start shit.

Ok, so from what I could gather from scouring the internet, harassing my friends, and looking through twitter, people hate bp for mainly these reasons: they hate Jennie, they think bp are overrated and overhyped, they “are not serving what they could serve” (yes, I quoted this from my friend), they’re basically models not idols, their fans suck, and BIG 3 privilege. There’s actually a lot more reasons that I found by looking at a “why do you hate blackpink?” quora thread but these are the easiest to tackle. I’m here to tell you that most of this hate if not all of it comes from misogyny. To be more specific, internalized misogyny because most of this hate comes from female kpop fans.

Disclaimer: I did not research which demographic hates on bp the most but from personal experience, it has always been women who share their distaste for bp. Ok, moving on.

I’m going to tackle the reasons I laid out one by one, hopefully well enough that you look back and see if the reason why you hate bp is out of just simple dislike for their music or because you hate women. There’s a big difference if you didn’t notice. If you get offended by this piece then that’s on you not me, just saying.

Ok, first reason. You hate Jennie? Is that so? May I ask why you hate her so much? What exactly has she done to you that you have such a strong hatred for her? Is it because she’s lazy? Because she’s not doing what she’s capable of? I need reasons. I really do need some reasons before I label you off as someone struggling with internalized misogyny. Jokes aside, I don’t see how you can hate someone you’ve never met. I think most of the time we forget that you literally don’t know these people. I don’t know my favorite kpop boys and you definitely don’t know my good sis Jennie. I could make a whole other piece on the fake images and personalities these idols have and how we eat them up but whatever.

Back to Jennie, you literally don’t know her. This whole Jennie is lazy argument is bs, pure shit if you ask me. You have no way of knowing what’s going on in her life. I’m pretty sure you’ve had bad days, bad weeks, maybe even bad months. You forget her job is draining, mentally and physically. She’s got dances to memorize, songs to memorize, fans to deal with and communicate with. She has a social media presence, she still has to practice and train (idols don’t just stop practicing once they debut). I know my body would not be able to withstand that no matter how long I trained; I’d drop dead immediately. The matter of fact is there are a ton of reasons why she wasn’t performing up to YOUR standards, which is a whole other can of worms since you’re probably on your bed doing nothing. It’s almost like y’all forgot sickness and fatigue is a thing.

And even if the reason wasn’t a medical reason, you can’t let my good sis be lazy for once??? The thing is everyone acts like they’ve never been lazy in their entire life. You’re telling me you’ve never not wanted to do nothing for no good reason? Lies, you’re fucking lying. Ok so what if she doesn’t feel like doing the move with that much energy. Let her live?? All I’m saying is you’d probably survive 5 days in the kpop industry with your lazy ass. And don’t try to hit me with the “but that’s her job she has to perform at 100% all the time” because I’m pretty sure you’re not supposed to be failing your classes or pretending to be sick to get out of class. It’s the hypocrisy of it all. All if you had to perform the same song for a year, I’m sure you’d get sick of it too (fuck you YG).

The reason why you hold Jennie to ridiculous standards is because of your ~ misogyny ~. Yes, it’s showing. Especially if you don’t hold male idols to the same level as Jennie. Female idols on the daily are held to ridiculous standards when it comes to their performances. One hair out of place and all of a sudden the knetz come holding their pitchforks. Gfriend slipping on the stage, something caused by literal rain, is still laughed at to this day and mocked. Jang Gyuri on Produce 48 had a voice crack that was edited and replayed to death on the show, ending in her elimination because she couldn’t recover from it. Meanwhile male idols make a mistake on stage and it’s like “Omg, a babie! Omg, that’s so funny!”. I don’t think I can think of any moment where male idols got shit because of a stage mistake. If anything he’s just babied and posted on twitter. My point is female idols are always shat on no matter what they do. Jennie is no exception.

Now the second point, bp is overrated and overhyped. Umm, so this point is a little harder to flat out say you’re wrong, mostly because it depends on your own personal taste. If bp’s music is not for you then it might be easy to say that they’re overrated since they’re literally the biggest girl group in the world. The nuances come with the reasons behind this statement. I’m not going to address if you just dislike their music, I can’t really change your opinion on that. I will however, address if the reason behind you saying they’re overrated is because their music sounds “generic” and you don’t think they’re talented, or if you don’t think they deserve their fame because of their small discography and short promotion periods.

The statement that all four of the bp members are untalented is just false. Wrong. W-R-O-N-G. Don’t mind me just spelling it out for you. Listen, to be able to debut you have to have some sort of talent. No one really debuts without any talent at all (for record yes I’m including visual as being a talent, sue me and leave hate idc). The only reason why someone with no talent would debut is if they had a HUGE fan base before debut and the company was trying to capitalize on it. I can name a few examples but I’m not trying to start shit. These fan bases could show up from predebut commercials, acting gigs, or reality shows. Blackpink had none of that, sure a few of them had appearances in other mv’s but I wouldn’t consider that abnormal in companies’ promotion tactics. Bp went through the typical trainee process. They passed the auditions, trained for a couple of years, and debuted. Now if you knew anything about the trainee process you would know that trainees have monthly evaluations. These monthly evaluations determine whether or not you can make it to debut. If you don’t show progress, then you’re getting the boot. So the fact that bp made it up to the final levels of evaluation and actually debuted indicates that these girls have talent, I’m sorry to say. Objectively, these girls can dance, sing, and rap. Maybe they’re not the best in the industry, I never said that but they are capable of doing all 3 things. Also they come from YG and as much as I hate YG, they’ve got trainees for dayssssss. YG’s status and income did not rely on these girls debuting, they could’ve picked anyone out of their 100 trainees they’ve got in the dungeon. If anything it’s way more competitive to debut in any of the Big 3 companies. It’s like picking the best of the best. If you’re saying these girls are not talented then maybe check yourself a little bit to see why you’re exactly saying that. I’m assuming you won’t be able to do anything better than them.

The other three points were that their music is generic, their discography is small and their promotions are short. Well, in that case say fuck YG? You’re really acting like these girls produce their own music, make their own choreos and schedule their own promotions. Like wtf? That’s what their companies are for? The way that everyone chooses to ignore YG and their staff and immediately put blame on the girls like they get to choose what they do is ridiculous. Now I know not everyone does this, but the amount of people I’ve seen say bp is overrated because of their discography is a lot. But y’all really out here acting like they make their own discography smh. Yell at Teddy? Yell at YG? I’ve been yelling at those mfers because they’re not giving bp what they deserve. Even the hate that they receive because they get sponsorships and ads makes no sense. You don’t want them to make coin? A huge part of what comes with being famous is brand sponsoring. Brands pay you to promote their stuff because hello, you’re famous. So the fact that you don’t want them to do this is first of all wack but also again you’re acting like these girls choose the sponsorships and choose when to go on these trips. YG. MFING YG. I don’t think y’all understand how much control these companies have over their idols. Company says drink water, you drink water. Company says stop breathing and you stop breathing. You do whatever your company says you have to do. That’s your boss.

So why don’t y’all start hating the producers, choreographers, and management instead. Why focus your hate on these four girls? I won’t spell it out for you again but I hope you get the jist. Most of the time it’s way more easy to attack the woman when she has nothing to do with anything. Society tells you to direct your complaints to the girl involved. You see a male celebrity start dating and who gets attacked? The girl. A girl gets cheated on in a movie by her boyfriend and who does she attack? The girl he cheated with. It’s internalized misogyny luv, yes I ended up spelling it out for you. For real, the girls just breathe and y’all scream at them.

Final point about the big 3 privilege and fanbase. You have every right to not stan a group because of their fanbase. What you don’t have a right to do is hate on them and leave nasty comments on their posts. First, that’s fan behavior. Second, if you’re gonna do this keep the same energy for people who want to do this with your group. I’m talking about every group because every idol group got some wack ass fans. You shouldn’t hate a group because their fanbase is annoying, they don’t get to pick and choose their fans. So, don’t be a hypocrite ok :) Now big 3 privilege. Ah big 3 privilege. Yes, it exists. There’s no denying it. Big 3 privilege doesn’t really die out in my opinion. For as long as they’re still active, bp will have big 3 privilege. But just with any other sort of privilege, if you have it might as well use it. Listen, if I was white you know I’d be eating up my white privilege I’m not gonna lie. Jokes aside, bp has worked extremely hard. Yes, they have the big 3 privilege but they still have to perform these concerts, shows, and go to these interviews and train. As much as you’d like to disagree with me, I think that it’s a very objective to say that they have worked hard.

I think it’s important to acknowledge how hard it is to get into these companies in the first place. You’re not born into it like a lot of social privileges people have. You have to audition. There are so many idols that have tried to get into these big companies but have failed. Now I’m not saying that these idols are not as talented as the ones that get into these big companies. Most of the time, these idols aren’t ready at the time of their audition and work harder on their own before trying out other companies. The big 3 get their trainees at very young age, which means these kids have to be either geniuses or show an incredible amount of promise. They’re the big 3 for a reason, they’ve been around the longest and have the most experience. They can see a future idol in the making relatively quickly. So yeah bp have big 3 privilege but they’ve worked hard, sacrificed their childhood, and get shat on just as much as your kpop idols. They’ve just got a fancy name behind them that doesn’t even make good choices promoting them anyways. It’s not a valid reason to hate them because of this, just saying.

Most of the hate bp gets is brought upon by the idea that our patriarchal society has ingrained in us. Women = bad, yell at them vs. men = good, don’t yell at them. We hate seeing women succeed. It’s as simple as that. Seeing powerful women dominate the industry they’re in scares us to our core. We don’t like it. I’m just here to bring light to it.

It did not take 10 days to type 20 words, which essentially only reworded the main narrative that has already been placed. I'm not mad at that, them keeping it cut and dry left less room for people to dig too deep.... That's press secretary 101 AKA tautology at it's finest...

However, my point is, we've gotten 6 paragraph essays in hours if a scandal breaks out, so they did not need time to process a statement they needed time to process a game plan. They also needed time to put together a fall back in case something dose go left...I know some of y'all just see it as; The boys, bang, there loving manager...but it’s more than just “family dynamics”

It took 10 days for them to wager if it was worth it to speak up or not...how much do we lose if we stay quiet and what do we gain if we speak up..you gotta remember BigHit IS A business FIRST!

The fact that it took so long, the fact that 3 big groups speak up about an hour apart, the companies delivery makes it seem forced, and like they gave into peer pressure. Let's not forget that's an actual job, someone is paid to actually monitor socials and see what the public narrative is. Why do you think BH has addressed certain things after they trend for a couple days? Because someones looking to see what's worth actually addressing!

Hmmm... Ignoring a human rights movement days before being involved in an American online virtual grad party? Yeahhh not so much!

I'm rarely on Twit because of drama but due to BLM I've been more active, and as of about Saturday? You couldn't even log onto a BTS/BH post without people spamming it about the movement and the label's silence. Let's also not pretend a huge part of the BLMM gets to change because it's BTS...what we want is for people to NOT move in silence, we want people to make their voices heard and speak up! So ppl saying "SEE I knew they were doing something behind closed doors" Is irrelevant for what the movement is asking for.

You can love someone and not literally lick their ass with everything they do or say btw...

It took 10 days to debate between morals and business...and that's where as a black fan, on the company's level it really makes me feel a type of way. Because that's ALL it came down to....any person in power when you speak up on these types of things you'll face backlash regardless. So you have to wager morals OR possible profit loss and kickback...and the fact that, that company took so long to pull the trigger makes you question there true feelings not he boys... (Also I’m not implying I think BANG is racist, I’m saying they let business cloud there judgment for longer than I think they should have as big of a company as they are at this point.)

So yes, the idols.K-rappers and r&b singers that spoke up on their own days after it happened....are still in the same boat as BTS. It doesn't matter if a couple are American born. The bulk of their money, and their company is in Korea,they still have millions of fans from Korea regardless of them being born in America. America is not the one that's keeping them afloat financially...we aren't even with BTS...we don't touch what Asia does!

I don't doubt the boys sincerity, my issue is not with the boys directly anyway, however since it came upon fans taking fire to their socials the narrative seems tainted IMO....I feel like BigHit handled this poorly as a company. Tbh because it is a sticky subject I don't think the company ever planned to speak up, UNTIL, it reached Korea and other idols and fans started asking...

Regardless of it not being a Korean “issue”, like a couple Kpop artists have said... the genre pulls so much and profits so much off black culture how is it not also their place to speak up?Would you have a rapline without black people??! NOPE

So for me...I would have preferred they just stayed quiet if they felt uncomfortable because now even though I don't question their heart, it doesn't seem genuine, the company ruined the effect for me! NOT THE BOYS, I'm not blaming the boys, tbh Joon was probably the one that said "Ya know we kinda can't keep avoiding this right!?" The minute it hit Korean news last week.... Also BTS don't have as much to lose as some smaller groups and even rookie groups that I've seen speak up, sorry but they don't. These boys have a huge Korean AND American following, they aren't rookies they have weight....when you have groups that aren't as popular, don't have that Western fall back...yet they speak up on their own..then yeah BH felt the pressure to speak up as well.

In conclusion there is no time frame on being a good human, yet, it would've been better if the statement came naturally, and came before people were "Looking" for one.

That's my point and that's just how I feel and your entitled to disagree, however I wont address THIS particular statement in regards to BTS and black lives matter anymore. But we can discuss other topics within the situation!

ALSO , IDC who the person is we need to stop giving celebrities gold starts for being good people...or just non-celebs. “At least they spoke up” I mean it’s racial inequality the US is now a big part of there world I’d hope they'd speak up at some point. As well as it’s hard for a lot of pople famous or not famous or not, not every bodies values align with there families..peers..coworkers and sometimes it dose not come out until shit goes down!

🔥 : On my indie a couple years back I was called a racist for banning KPOP fcs I didn’t ban a race I banned a fandom just like people ban Supernatural or Glee fcs both of which I ban minus a few exceptions and I do the same with KPOP fcs there are a few exceptions. But you’re immediately called racist. I explained my reasoning which quite simply is that my sister is obsessed with them so I have to listen to them constantly, see them constantly, talk about them constantly even though I’m not a fan. In group rps I’m like go ahead cause yeah group rps I feel the character I’m portraying is less something I built for mostly me but for everyone in the group so everyone is welcome idc about fc at all. But indie blogs are more personal to me like I choose these partners myself it’s more exclusive to me. So I ban them cause that blog is more just for me and an escape from everything in my personal life. Including the fandoms I just don’t want to see. Back when my sister was obsessed with Bieber and I didn’t like him (I got on board eventually but whatever) I avoiding him like the plauge too when rping cause my life was saturated with Bieber I just wanted an escape. Besides by banning them it was saving people the time of replying and not getting a response back. Cause I could have done that no one would have called me a racist if I had just gone about never responding to the KPOP fcs that responded to my starters. I think the RPC has a big problem with being super quick to drop the ‘r’ word or any sort of call out word pedophile being another one people are quick to throw out there too without actually listening or understanding the meaning of the word.

🔥: I’m always really worried to play POC characters not really being a POC myself and I feel there’s just an experience there that I wouldn’t be able to replicate or portray correctly. I would hate to portray that experience incorrectly even just a little slip up causes me anxiety and with the current sort of quick to attack vibe of the rpc i’m even more hesitant to do so.

🔥: I don’t really mind shipping fcs and such as long you’re not forceful about it and forcing your muse on someone. In rps where connections aren’t set that’s where it’s really sort of like you need to probably not do that. But in skeleton ones where characters are kind of built to have chemistry it’s okay I think but again chemistry is most important. And I mean we all do it. I mean if I’m on my Jesse muse account and I see an Andrew Garfield muse my lights go up and away. And I’m a shipping whore and a plotting whore so I’ve never had a problem with finding chemistry so it could be a person by person sort of thing but as long as you’re not pushy I don’t really see too much wrong with it.

Mini Kadi Shippers/Supporters’ Survey Result

I would like to thank everyone for taking their time to respond to this survey. Your contribution is much appreciated. Anyway, this might sound a bit formal. But as long as I deliver the message, aite?

This is a mini kd shippers/supporters survey. I asked a question and collected responses which were consisted of a statement(s). I managed to collect a total of 99 responses in a span of 10 days.

Question: i have an honest question. i’m really curious. who re u guys that ship/support kd? ks stans, ji stans, ex0-l, non-ex0-l, not even into kpop?

Next, I’ve analyzed the data using a simple coding method (use in a qualitative study). I’ve extracted a few important points from the data and divided it into two main categories - Group Stan & Bias. The subcategories were determined based on the amount of the same response

Group Stan - (1) EX0.L, (2) Non-EX0.L and (3) Not Stated Bias - (1) Jong.in, (2) Kyung.soo, (3) Jong.in & Kyung.soo and (4) Others

The unit used in the result is counted as per response [x/99].

1st Category: Group Stan

I think the highlight of this result is the Non EX0.L. Altho it's not many of them but I find it interesting that Non EX0.L take an interest in kd. These were some responses from the Non EX0.L.

º im not ex0.l anymore and if it weren't for kd i wouldn't be here (in the fandom) º just kai.soo-l. im not into kpop or ex.o anymore... i just exist here now just for kai.soo. tho i still go to ex.o concerts but just to see kai.soo. º I'm not a EX.O fan but I believe Kai.soo are dating º not really an ex0.l i literally only went to ex0.rdium to see them both c: º ...I'm a bt.s stan irl º Im an ar.my but i've been shipping kai.soo almost since the beginning :) they are The only ship that I actually believe is real

The ‘Not Stated’ subcategory is self-explanatory. I believe it doesn’t affect the result that much.

2nd Category: Bias

Ks bias and ji & ks bias share the 1st spot on the chart with a total of 33 responses, respectively. I find it quite shocking. I expected that there would be more of ks bias since I’ve only heard many kd shippers are ks bias.

It is expected from my pov that there aren’t many kd shippers that biased ji, which I also find it interesting. Perhaps this has anything to do with his popularity among ifandom? Or they are more of them that ship other otp like se.kai etc? Mybe his past dating scandal affected stans in some way? //shrug.

The least frequent answers fell under ‘Others’; consisted of those who doesn't bias ji and ks, bias all ex0 and not stated specifically.

Conclusion

As per stated in the title, the result represent kai.soo shippers and supporters. This is not a proper survey since the data are varied and I’ve only managed to extract few points when they could have been more. So take this survey as it is~ Anyway, it was a fun mini survey and I also had fun analyzing the data! Click ‘Keep reading’ to check out all of the responses.

Also, I’m not good with names, so is it cool if I just call her Olivia and nickname her Oli?

Ugh I’m so sorry that I’m no good at writing anything other than slow burn and that I always end everything with dialogue… Do you want me to write one last part and actually go on the date? (I just can’t write more than three pages at a time, that’s my problem tbh)

The shock that resonated within the car was no surprise to you as you adjusted in your seat awkwardly. Now that you’re faced with their confusion it’s not quite as amusing, especially when you feel as if someone is gonna draw on you. You clear your throat, scratching at the back of your neck.

“Sorry, I just haven’t seen- ah- Prince Noctis, or, Prompto since high school,” you explain raising your hands in surrender again, “Plus they keep saying he’s dead and I just-”

One of Prompto’s gloved hands raises to rest on your shoulder as he smiles to you reassuringly with a look that says that you were safe, trying to soothe your panic. Gladiolus and Ignis share a look, and a look of recognition passes across Noctis’ features at the same time it does Prompto’s. The blonde rubs soothing circles onto your back as he tries his best to calm you once again. A blush crosses his features as you lean against him with a sigh.

Out of all the guys, he made you feel most comfortable. He was so sweet, honestly you could see why you used to have a crush on him. Sure he was a bit socially awkward, but you were too. It was a perfect match, that and he was artistic. He could take pictures and you could use them as reference photos and all that jazz. Maybe you were a little too comfortable with him for your first interaction in years, but you still remembered the first time you had met him.

You had been on the outskirts of Insomnia with a picture of your aunt your mother had given to you. It had been when your family had just learned of her terminal illness, near the end of your senior year. Huddled up on a park bench with it clutched to your chest, sobbing as you panicked. Your aunt had been someone you always relied on, and knowing she only had a limited time to live was driving your heart crazy. The one thing you didn’t want to do was lose her.

He had stumbled out of the foliage after- well you weren’t sure too long. He hadn’t noticed you until entering the clearing, camera wrapped around his neck. He had originally travelled out to photograph the landscape, even get a few landscape photos. That’s when cries of distress, and absolute heartbreak, reached him. Prompto immediately took notice of you, curled up around yourself and alone. The blonde quickly skipped over, plopping down beside you, attention solely on you. One of his hands tapped your shoulder to gain your attention.

“Are you okay?”

You threw yourself into his arms without second thought, automatically registering the familiar face in your mind. Not completely thrown off guard he had wrapped his arms around you, hushing you and letting you know everything would be alright. He loosely recalled your name as he slowly stroked your hair, your tears falling into the crook of his neck as he focused on soothing you.

“If you want to tell me what’s wrong, I’m all ears.” Prompto promised after you pulled back, offering you a shy smile. He was blushing, since he had been discovered finally.

You only awaken when the car pulls to a stop. A blush warms your face as you open your eyes to see the flesh of a shoulder, and feel pressure lift from your head. Flustered you look to your right to see Prompto blushing down at you, a soft smile tugging at his lips when you yawn. On his right Noctis lets out a yawn, stretching before clambering out of the car. You smile slowly apologizing as you slide from the car. The blonde lets out a chipper laugh, assuring that you were fine.

“You two looked pretty cozy back there,” Gladio teases as you both regroup with the others. Another fierce blush alights your face and you look anywhere but at Prompto, whose expression mirrors yours as he side glances at you.

“I was comfortable, thanks for asking.” Noctis huffs, swatting at the big guy for excluding him so readily. Gladio chuckles, shaking his head at the raven. While you were all sleeping Ignis had pulled over so you could all camp. He knew they had offered to take you to the next outpost, but the sun was setting off in the distance, the group had no choice but to take camp.

They ushered you behind them as you all begin to jog over to the nearest haven. It wasn’t that far, but with the sun quickly setting time was of the essence. The boys were quite concerned for you, not certain of you abilities in a battle. Though it was inevitable when you all ran into a group of Sabertusks, but you couldn’t help cursing to yourself. The demons causing you to grumble in distaste as you pull your handgun from its holster. As the others charge into battle you stand back, firing from a safe distance. It all was over so quickly you barely registered the battle at all, until it was all over and Prompto rushed over to commend you on your shooting skills, boasting about his own firearm. It seemed you had more in common than you originally thought.

It had been days, but the boys had convinced you to travel with them. You were super excited to get to the Chocobo post, especially with Prompto humming the Chocobo theme song the entire drive. However, you were thoroughly disappointed when Wiz informed you all that rentals were shut down due to a particularly pesky behemoth named Deadeye. Once Noctis offered to take the monster on you were quick to duck out, not that they minded. You hadn’t much experience fighting, and they didn’t really want you to risk your life on it either.

“”Hey, wait up Oli!” Prompto exclaims jogging over. You raise an eyebrow at him, tilting your head to the side questioningly.

“Yeah?” You inquire, halfway up the steps into the trailer you were going to set up for sleeping so they could crash when they got back.

“Lets- lets go on a date when we get back.” He offers, blush on his face accompanied by a giant hopeful smile.

“A date?”

“Yeah, we can go Chocobo riding together.” His grin widens more, and you can’t help smiling as well. His happiness is contagious.

“Okay, let’s go on a date when you get back.”
