Bill eventually got everyone Ford cared about to leave, punished him when he felt he was getting too close to other people. Ok so if you clicked read more WELCOME this is a LOT of thoughts coming at you so like:

•Rankings are approximate, and not commentary on anything in terms of actual character analysis. I am not comparing the crimes, actual or social, of these characters in a serious way

•Samus was originally in the center and then I was like "no. No she's more creature than that."

•Some of the Bastard rankings are for crimes and some are vibes. Some are both!

•For example, Stan has an immense criminal record! MB tried to kill all humans.

•Meanwhile, Bill Cipher is a Bastard AND a criminal! I hate him he's great.

•Goro Akechi is a mess that needs like. A good friend and therapy and some self-discovery. He also committed crimes but I think he'd do better outside of jail.

•That Appletun is George, he's my apple son, I love him, I hold him gently, that IS my art from like 2020 don't worry about the horns it's a long story

•I know Shy Guys are villains but. No they aren't.

•Good news, I would trust like all of the men here with my drink? With a few OBVIOUS EXCEPTIONS.

Ok actually that needs an elaboration. Obvious exceptions are the two in The Pit and Ridley Metroid because I don't. No I don't trust them.

As for the rest, trust reasons: two are below the age of 16, Ren supports women's rights AND wrongs don't at me, Akechi I don't think I would ever approach because Oh No He Needs Therapy but for background and general vibes reasons I think he would fight someone trying to do anything. Zagreus gives me similar vibes to Ren even though Greek Mythology but like just I don't I don't think.

Ford is a great uncle and would also fight someone. Same with Stan, and I went back and forth on this but landed on the great uncle point but also he would just steal the drink. And that's funny.

•Adam Malkovich exists but he's a computer he can't hold anything. But he's also just Man. That's it. None of the other qualities. That's a guy.

•wait I forgot Link. Same boat as Ren but like if Link doesn't give me ace vibes. Yes I'm projecting. I can project on a lot of these guys!

Nobody ever pays attention to the fact that Hawks is literally a government drone. He has bird wings that have feathers that can listen in on conversations, and he works for the government.

Hawks works for the bourgeoisie.

That's the interesting aspect of Hawk's character since he literally fulfils the role of the perfect government spy or agent.

Hawk's has it all to fit the role perfectly. He has the quirk, the skills, the looks and the charisma. He is a beautifully built puppet that works to uphold the status quo, the same status quo that also harms people like him (hetamorphs and the less fortunate in society).

To the civillians and the hpsc Hawk's is perfect in every way possible. However, this notion of perfection is interpreted differently by both the hpsc and the civillains. To the HPSC Hawk's is the perfectly crafted puppet that was successfully produced to be everything they wanted him to be.

Hawk's to them understands the system, was raised to worship it and uphold it. He has no doubts of what he must do and does it almost as if the action of upholding the system and killing have become second nature and pure animalistic instinct to him. Those red feathers are the HPSC biggest prize. They are stained culling weapons that kill, disarm, hear and have eyes everywhere. A huanting red that must do what's necessary for the system to survive and for the government to always be on top. The colour of blood but to the hpsc it's the colour of their pride and most perfected puppet.

To the civillains Hawk's is alluring. He is handsome, young, strong, tall, muscular and he has it all. Hawk's is what the people fan over and to some who they want to be. He is a Saint to the civillains a man with good looks that ensures to keep them safe with his agility and quickness. An angle in disguise is what the civillains would think of him (yet to the villains he is more of the devil in disguise)

To the villains hawk's is the embodiment of the system and its wicked ways. Hawk's interaction with twice says it best whether that be from Hawk's not wanting to kill twice heck he tried to disarm twice he cut off twices muscles so he couldn't move and therefore disarmed him from using his quirk yet when it came to it hawk's reverted to his hpsc taught instinct and killed what he deemed a good man. OR twice completely being shattered at the betrayal and realising that hawk's is the system that he hates and has suffered from severly.

Throughout the MVA arc hori seems to draw some religious imagery of Hawk's comparing him to the fallen angle or heck even icarus (could be both 🤷‍♀️) In the MVA arc Hawk's does tell the truth about one thing and that is that he feels trapped in a cage due to the hpsc. Hawk's wanted to escape that cage, and one way he may have tried to defy the hpsc was to try and save twice, yet in the end, he never did. He was too optimistic, too quick to revet to hpsc instinct and too slow to fully stop twice so he ended up killing him and rather falling from grace of the publics eye who saw this happen on a live recording, from the eye of the hpsc who if they were still around would of quickly abandoned him and he fell as a hero.

Hawk's ambition and insiticts led to his failure.

In the end, Hawk's is a government spy that upholds the status quo and the mha civillains most of them that is were okay with the status quo so why would they care if the hpsc would send a spy in order to keep them "safe"?

(Such a shame that Hawk's never gets to change properly whether that be acknowledging his mistakes, changing by leaving the instinct embeded in him and getting to have proper intropsection looking at characters in a different light such as enji)

New Findings For Alexander Hamilton’s Artillery Company!!

Today I came across “new” (new to me, anyway--nor have I seen a Hamilton biographer or scholar mention this) Captain Hamilton information and I feel bad for the people within my vicinity inside my campus library who had to hear my shocked squeal.

Within the Henry Knox Papers of the Gilder Lehrman Collection held by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History is an “Artillery record book” which was written by Colonel Samuel Shaw for Knox’s regiment of artillery between January 12, 1777 and March 24, 1777. The book itself is only 16 pages (which includes the cover page), but it contains all sorts of troop movements, artillery inventory, and other notes.

The following (under the cut) is a chronological rundown of all the times Hamilton or his men are mentioned in the book, along with the images themselves (as unfortunately the database that the Knox Papers were digitized to, American History 1493-1945, is limited to institutional access. However, it can be found here):

First up, on page five (seen above), Colonel Shaw wrote a series of "memos," or tasks needing completion. One of these, as seen at the top of the page, included "To enquire of Capt Hamilton whether his men were entitled to the Bounty of Ten Dollars which they received of Lieut Reed 1 Jany [January] 1777 --". The start of the new year came of course on the heels of the Battle of Trenton fought on December 26, 1776, wherein Hamilton's cannons played a major role.

Next (and the most interesting to me), on page twelve (seen above) Shaw wrote a series of troop movements. Dated February 3, 1777, the colonel wrote that "Lieut [John] Bean, with 8 men of Capt Hamilton's Coy [Company] came [up?] from Bucks County and marched to join the Detachment with Genl [John] Sullivan and Capt [Sebastian] Bauman --". At this time, Hamilton was still in recovery from the illness he developed prior to Trenton, and the only other remaining officer in his company was his Third Lieutenant Thomas Thompson. This would thus mean that Hamilton and Thompson were left to watch over those that remained with the company while Bean and eight enlisted men were away.

Lastly, on the final page of the record book (seen above) a series of discharges for men in Hamilton's company were written on March 24, 1777. By that time, Alexander Hamilton had joined Washington's staff as an aide-de-camp. Colonel Shaw, and another person who has not been identified, explicitly wrote:

Morris Town March 24, 1777

This is to certify that Lieut John Bean has Received his Discharge this day Sign'd by General Knox, N B the above person Belong'd to the late Capt Hamilton's Compy [Company] of the State of N[ew] York Likewise has 24 days pay due --

March 24, 1777 Discharged Martian Laulen[,] Isaac Johnston & Will'm [William] Hackett Matross's in the Late Capt Hamilton's Compy, Rais'd in the State of New York By order of General Knox . . . .

Also had seven men of the above mentioned compy Qualifyed [Qualified] to be true to the Independent States of America --

Note: the names of the matrosses discharged were cross-referenced with the names found in Alexander Hamilton's artillery company pay book for making my above transcription.

This entire record makes me extremely happy. I have new dates and more minute details and therefore a more concrete timeline surrounding Hamilton and the men of his company, yay!! Lately I have become very interested in the company's continuing service in the American Revolution after Hamilton's departure, and this record just gave me some fascinating information that links to some other information I have found on the whereabouts of some of these men written about above. But this is daring to open a can of worms that should be saved for a later post.

Frankly, it does not surprise me that I have not read about this record previously. It is so detailed and routine that it doesn't stand out necessarily on its own in the wider scope of things. However, as regards The American Icarus (and another project I may or may not be considering tackling?), this new information is very interesting and helpful. And I hope someone else here finds it interesting too.

But in all seriousness, the difference between Reo handing off the title vs Midas handing it off is so interesting to me. Like Reo just wanted the hell out of the world port and actually had the opportunity to go back and see his brother and continue like nothing happened, he kinda gave it to Midas, didn’t care that they were a teenager, immediately pulled them, practically said “hey! This job sucks! Thanks!” And dipped

Midas however, saw Icarus was a kid and couldn’t pull them. And once they did pull Icarus they were careful with how they passed on the title, gave them the explanation they needed and have been wanting, and then when they left they were lost because there wasn’t a world for them to go back to

I know the circumstances were much different for Midas becoming Quixis vs Icarus becoming Quixis, but Midas still very much could’ve been like “get me the hell out of here,” and leave without any more conversation, but they didn’t
