Starting with the Netflix adaptation

A shame it got cancelled after the first season

I really liked the characters, and where the plot was going

It was clear these where high schoolers

The comic

Less character set up, but it got to the point and was amazing just the same

Personally I liked the route the Netflix show was taking a bit more, but the comic was amazing in a different way.

Stanley is much better in the show in my opinion, and honestly all the characters where

I think both are good in different ways, the comic is horrifying and quick, and feels so raw and helpless, just like depression, especially in high school, can feel like

The show I think would have been more optimistic, I don’t think she would have killed herself, there was so much potential and they just destroyed it

reasons why i am not okay with this is a great show:

- male-female platonic friendships !!

- actors are actually teens or young adults

- it's specifically acknowledged that they have "flaws" like pimples bc they're actual teenage characters

- stan. just like in general.

- the characters are like ... real ... and they don't feel like stock characters

- good writing that doesn't make them sound like aliens who were taught to say things they assume teenagers would say
