If you don't know what Baby Birds is, it's a collage-novel-series-thing that I'm releasing part-by-part on Tumblr; you can find the posts collected via @lactation and read it chronologically via this link. It's about lactation and love triangles and transsexuality and depersonalization. It's told through the main character's diary entries and their attempts at working out their feelings through collage.

What's different about this version? I got better at editing and made higher quality pages but didn't want to go back to edit the previous posts. The text and collages are exactly the same. So, the posts are still accessible but you can now read it with ease in PDF form, now with consistent font sizes and numbered sections.

Eddie doesn’t know where to begin. Oh, he knows what went wrong. That’s an easy question.  Everything went wrong. He can trace it back as far as he wants to, really. Everything went wrong just weeks ago, with Kim and his parents and the horrible, horrible feeling of his son being mad at him. But things also went wrong when Shannon died and he never let himself process it, when he joined a fight club, when he destroyed his room with a baseball bat and sobbed in his best friend’s arms about it and claimed he was fine just a few weeks later. Hell, if he’s being honest about it, things probably went wrong when he got his high school girlfriend pregnant, married her, and enlisted in the army all within a week of each other. He doesn’t regret Shannon. He could never regret Christopher. But that doesn’t mean he can’t acknowledge that he didn’t handle all of that very well. That he hasn’t been handling anything well since. Well. since forever, probably. He’s kind of a mess, he’s realised lately. Maybe his whole life was just a ticking time bomb and this is the explosion, covering everything near and dear to him in dirt and ash. Maybe it was more inevitable than he thought. He fucked up.
