Usually, I like to finish reading a fic before recommending it properly, but I've been sucked into about five different STAR WARS fics recently that I've gotten far enough into that I'm willing to trust my heart to them because they're scratching a very specific itch for me--namely, that I want deeper explorations of both the Jedi Order and of Anakin's character. I want fic to punch me in the feelings over both of these aspects of the story. I want fic to sometimes set Obi-Wan and Anakin aside and focus on Ahsoka for awhile, really tell her story. I want Jedi themes woven into a story. I want an exploration of Anakin's mindset that reminds me of just how much I love him and have sympathy for him. And fandom has delivered for me.

DO YOU WANT FIC TO BLACK OUT TO AND LOSE AN ENTIRE WEEKEND OVER? HAVE I GOT SOME RECS FOR YOU:

✦ Out with Lanterns by SkyeBean, ahsoka & mace & jedi & clones & cast, 312.5k     In another universe, Jedi Masters Plo Koon and Depa Billaba decide a Padawan could do Mace some good. It takes a while, but he eventually agrees. When he takes Ahsoka Tano as his Padawan, Mace knows that he's broken through a Shatterpoint and changed the course of a life. How, he doesn't know.     This fic accomplishes several things that have sent me over the moon: 1) At its heart, it's an Ahsoka fic that shows her growing up as a Padawan, going on missions, learning lessons, and having character growth. 2) It weaves in so many other characters around her, that Mace is there in almost every chapter, serious but warm in the Force, just as beautifully characterized as she is. 3) The other Jedi get their moments of excellents, Shaak taking Ahsoka on her Akul hunt was wonder to read, seeing Obi-Wan show up for a chapter had me over the moon, Adi taking care with Ahsoka was lovely, Depa was a shining star when she took Ahsoka under her wing, Fox growing used to these strange Jedi and growing into himself through Ahsoka's eyes was wonderful. 4) The writing is that kind of solid that I don't mean as mid-tier, but the kind that I feel like can bear weight on it, I can pick it up and read for 30k and barely realize any time has passed, despite that I've gotten through an entire arc of the fic. 5) It does an incredible job of balancing that feel of The Clone Wars show, without directly copying anything, that it's like these are arcs that I could have seen on the show itself, the lessons woven in, but still with enough plot moving forward and action to make it exciting. If you want more Jedi-centric fic in your life (where they don't have to be perfect! sometimes they can be less than perfect and it's okay because they're still good! ohhhh, my heart warmed at that) or you want to read a lovely Ahsoka-centric fic in a different life, but still so recognizably herself, then this is one I want to shove right in your face immediately.

✦ Take it from the top and try again by mauvera, obi-wan & anakin & qui-gon & padme & mace & dooku & cast, time travel, 116.k wip     Five years into his self imposed exile on Tattooine, Obi-Wan Kenobi is gifted the chance to go back and bring hope back to the galaxy. With hindsight on his side, he fully intends to save his master, save his padawan, make some new and old friends again, prepare the Jedi for a war they’ll hopefully never see and begin to pull apart all the many tangled threads of the Sith Lord’s plans. Should be relatively easy. Right?     I got sucked into the first fic in this series (which is complete, if you want to read it--it's not the end of the story, but it's a good stopping point and feels like it should have some solid resolution if you don't want to get into a wip) and read the first fic over the course of about three days because I was sucked in so thoroughly. I can never get enough of Obi-Wan time traveling back to the past, where he loves the Jedi and they love him, and I love this one because he has to make genuine plans for changing things--things change and I have no idea how that's going to affect Palpatine's machinations! Exciting! But it's also a lovely look at Obi-Wan's dynamics with multiple characters--I found the Obi-Wan & Padme scenes a hightlight personally, their friendship really blossomed as they both flung themselves into trying to better the galaxy, even if she doesn't know he's from the future, that he's working so hard matched a lot of her energy and I really enjoyed that--from Qui-Gon to Mace to Padme to Anakin and, as the sequel progresses, Dooku as well. It's another Jedi-positive fic, it has me invested in the plot, it's a joy to see competent!Obi-Wan, and I would love to shove it at more people.

✦ Post Order 66 Exile AU by Livsy, obi-wan & anakin, 46k (wip-esque)     After a failed order 66, in which many Jedi still died but the Sith were defeated, an exiled warrior and a boy wander a distant planet and attempt to get along.     This is probably the shortest fic on this list but I'm including it because it genuinely felt longer than that, for how dense the emotional intensity of it is. It's an AU where the Jedi barely eked out a victory, still on the edge of extinction in many ways, and Anakin deep in the pits of the dark side, so Obi-Wan takes him to a backwater planet in exile for the both of them, traveling through the countryside and just trying to make it from day to day. What punched me right in the feelings place is that this fic doesn't shy away from the hurt and the anger on both sides, that both of them are allowed to be unreliable narrators that have their own points of view on what's transpired and what lays between them. It doesn't back away from the hurt they both feel, the despair they both feel, yet there's hope here. It's ultimately a story about clawing yourself back from the dark side, and it's beautifully characterized for both of them, that unkind things are said on both of their parts, but you understand why the characters are in the place they are. It's wrapped up in a lushly written backdrop, with some lovely Japanese feudal era details woven in, but also with a Star Wars patina spread across all of it. It's not necessarily a kind fic, but if you like fic that bites down on a wound, I enjoyed this series a lot and would love to see it continued--but, honestly, what's here is already enough resolution that, looking back on it after the initial "Noooooo, I need more!" feeling has faded, I'm actually very satisfied with. ✦ Men of Power by AlabasterInk, obi-wan & anakin & mace & yoda & jedi & palpatine & cast, 86.1k wip     When an old powerful man suddenly comes in and sweeps your underage Padawan away without so much as a by your leave, that’s the time to start asking questions.     I'm only about 20k into this fic, so I can't say what shape it will take later on or how much pairings might come into it, but I still had to come running over to shove this fic at people, because it's scratching the itch I have for Jedi-positive fic that explores the idea of Anakin's trauma from his childhood as a slave, that this is a child who is wound so tight and comes from such a horrible thing having been done to him, having been owned as a person, that I understand why he stays silent on some of the things I desperately wish he could talk about or he doesn't really believe some of the things the Jedi tell him. It's a fic that takes a lot more care with Anakin's character than I think canon ever intended, weaving in a lot of the heartbreaking stuff from Legends' supplementing the canon, and is creating something that punches me right in the feelings place for him, that he's such a bright, brilliant boy, but I see why he struggled and it's not about assigning blame in any direction. It's about deeply caring people who fate has take a few steps to the left and something shifts just a little--and I appreciate that there's something very delicate feeling here, that the Jedi just don't have any real reason to be suspicious of Palpatine, his actions make sense, they genuinely can't feel any ill intention from him in the Force, they discuss why it would make sense that he'd want to support Anakin, all while we the readers can see, in hindsight, where the shadows have been creeping in. If you want Jedi-positive fic that also leaves some teeth marks over Anakin's trauma being explored in a way that is entirely sympathetic to him, then I want to shove this fic at you, too.

Did One ever say... dad to Draxum?

Nope! He's been calling him Boss from the moment he started to talk

This is actually something he picked up from the goyles! They call Draxum "boss" pretty much all the time so One started mimicking that since he started to talk

In One's mind, the goyles are pretty much his co-workers

they played a big part raising One, almost as much as Draxum, specially when he was really small and Draxum was too bussy supervising the reconstruccion of their home

But as time passed and One grew, the role of babysitter have fallen more and more, tho there are still times they are constantly checking up on what is One up to ro report back to Draxum

I don't have any specific scenarios for One getting sick as a kid, but I imagine he has gotten sick a few times. Taking care of him would be a mix of Draxum and the goyles' duty, Draxum would always call a healer is necesary too.

Draxum might seem too harsh a lot, but he had always look out for One, after all that's his experiment! Draxum needs him to be on peak health so he can perform his duties and compleate his purpose!

There's quite a few things One likes to do! He likes to play basketball and to skateboard, but he has to do those behind Draxum's back and doesn't do them often

Few things Draxum is aware of is him practicing parkour, but that helps him on missions so is ok. He also enjoys to throw knives a lot and has been perfecting his technique for years, and making up tricks to entratain himself

He's interested in the Nexus in a way, there's no yes or no answer, honestly. He doesn't like Big Mama or her "wasting" warriors on Nexus fights but a lot of that is just him parroting what Draxum has said, he enjoys watching fights but Nexus fights are kind of forbidden to him. but he likes watching old recordings of Lou Jitsu!

I do have kind of have a design for Usagi but I'm constantly chaning how I want him to look on my mind and havent drawn it out in a long time, I think a wip of it was one of the first posts I did on patreon? but thats an old design and, like I said, I keep changing it. I dont think I'm gonna finish his design until I have to draw him for the comic, and thats not gonna be any time soon

There are too many hands to count in my BB (i mean... Word did it for me and there are 98, so I'm not going to go through all of those) Here's an important handshake though from a WIP I'm thinking about picking up after the BB is finished. Obi-Wan and Anakin have been transformed back into padawans (aged 18 with none of their older selves' memories) while on a mission through the intervention of a holocron

“What is this place?” Anakin asks. “What are all these tents? And how are you supposed to contact the Council on that? Why don’t you just go back to your ship?”

“Patience,” Obi-Wan says. “Can’t you see she’s busy? We’ll find out in due time.”

Anakin beside him huffs and crosses his arms. “Is this really what you were like as a teenager?”

“What is that supposed to mean?”

“Nothing,” Anakin says lightly. “Only that apparently you’ve been an old man your entire life.”

Obi-Wan breathes in and out and does his best not to let this…this boy provoke him.

Still, Obi-Wan can feel his brow furrow in agitation. “Who are you anyway? You seem to know so much about me but I can’t say the same about you.”

This seems to take Anakin aback. His eyes go a little wide. “Right, you don’t know who I am.”

“As I said.”

Anakin opens his mouth and closes it before managing to surprise Obi-wan. He steps forward with his hand out and with a strange, small smile on his face, introduces himself. “I’m Anakin, Anakin Skywalker.”

Obi-Wan eyes the hand skeptically before taking it. “Obi-Wan Kenobi. But then, you knew that already.”

UHH super rough pmv/animatic wip i made for my nightwatcher au. i'm struggling with a few scenes so thats why some are off beat or just entirely blank. i’ve never actually finished a pmv before so if i finish this cool!! if i lose motivation and never look at it again that sucks

also watcher switched designs in some parts thats my bad lmao (if i get past lineart i'll fix that but for now he stays old)

explanation for what's going on: watcher and hunter are siblings, both created by nsh. they were first created as just messengers -- but when moon was collapsing, nsh decided to send the watcher out to save her. watcher, not wanting to be bound to a life of peril trying to save moon, ran away to live their own life. this left the mission to the much younger hunter, bitter from her brother's abandonment. nsh hardly waited for hunter to grow up, sending her out as soon as she could fend for herself.

hunter and watcher cross paths somewhere around the outer expanse. at this point, watcher has joined a colony and started a family. hunter is upset with him, and watcher defends himself and tries to apologize. hunter isn't having it and storms off.

some time after they separate, watcher wanders into the garbage wastes, finding the current leader of the scavengers, the enlightened scavenger. the enlightened scav tells him how to ascend - and watcher, curious, impulsively decides to try ascension (despite it being impossible(i'll explain this another time)). he dives into the void sea, but is rejected by the void worms. he desperately swims up, barely escaping eternal purgatory, but at the cost of his sight.

meanwhile, hunter's sickness worsens and she rots away. she doesn't become a long legs though, just eaten by the rot and permanently dies. watcher -- now named night-watcher -- and his mate, gourmand, find the corpse of hunter. remembering their last conversation, night-watcher is distraught, and regrets never reconciling with his sister.

this au is a work in progress!! its a little messy in parts but i'll have it all sorted out someday soon :))

fon's 2023 in fic

so in order to distract myself from yet another fic flopping miserably i'm gonna do the compilation of all the flops from the entire year! :'D

a big big thank you to those of you who said nice words about my stuff, who left comments on the fics, and who helped me finish surprisingly many works this year. i am truly grateful for every single lovely comment i got! 💖 that is what kept me going, what made things feel worthwhile, and what helped me through many a dark moment.

i do still have works in progress but at the same time this sort of feels like a goodbye. idk. we'll see. but I can't keep pouring from an empty chalice and the fandom clearly does not want to help me fill it so we're at an impasse :'D it feels increasingly much that exiting stage left is the right move, as much as i don't want to and as much as it hurts to let go. but I digress.

on a more positive note, I can, hand to heart, say that I am extremely pleased with pretty much everything i wrote this year :D it's got to count for something, right!

question all my doubts | E | 10k | Leon gets back home from Spain only to find none other than Jack fucking Krauser bleeding onto his living room floor. And no matter how many times Leon tries to walk away from Krauser he always ends up back to him.

(it might've been love but) it's over now | T | 1.4k | Krauser is dead and had no next of kin, so Leon goes through his scarce apartment to sort through the meager belongings left behind, while also sorting through his own mess of emotions.

(no one ever died from) wanting too much | M | 1.4k | Krauser gets injured but he can only focus on the dirty thoughts he has about Leon, while Leon tends to those injuries.

my tragedy and my desire | M | 2k |  Leon struggles through the mission to rescue the president's daughter, constantly feeling like he’s being stalked. He has no idea how right he is about that. And how bad things will end for him.

my religion my certain death my salvation my sacrilege | E | 2k | Krauser keeps Leon as his sex-slave. (sequel to my tragedy and my desire)

Piers/Leon with heavily featured Krauser or Krauser/Leon

all the tears and the fears and the lies and the cries of the past | E | 16k | Krauser kidnaps Leon on Wesker’s orders to use as bait. Piers heads out to save him, together with Chris and Jill. Things get really messy.

tear me open (and make me whole again) | M | 7.6k | Piers disappears, and soon after Leon starts receiving videos from an unknown email address. It's bad enough that Krauser is back, but watching him torture Piers to get back at Leon might just be the worst thing Leon has ever been through in his life.

haunt you like it's part of you | E | 3.7k | Krauser brands Leon as his own, ruining him for all others. For a while it seems he's won, but eventually Leon gets the happy ending he deserves.

OT3 (Chris/Leon/Piers)

never without you | T | 1.6k | Leon is tired, so tired, but Piers and Chris will not let him give up.

Some more silly Antoinetta bits for ch4, but this time Zath has just told her about their mission together. I love her, but Zath needs way more time to warm up to new people, especially chatty Initiates. (I mentioned it in the Black Hand write up, but in this AU, Silencers are well-known and expected in their assigned Sanctuaries rather than being secret like in the canon!)

“Plans’ve changed, now yer stuck with me.” Technically, I was stuck with her, but perhaps that would be too rude to say outright ... “Okay! That's fine then, it will be my chance to get to know you after all! Are we going right after my Baptism?” “Nay. Well, tomorrow or the next, probably, unless the voidsalts sicken ye.” “Wait, they can make me sick?” “If yer mental constitution’s weak, aye.” “My what?” “Yer uhh, mind … bits,” I shook my head, already feeling like she was peppering me too much. I preferred the version of her from a month ago, back when she was too intimidated to speak to anyone beyond a rushed sentence or two. “Didn't Sanctifier Vicente tell ye these things?” “Oh, he was preparing me for it this morning when he was called away quite urgently by Brother Movis. Speaking of which, is Movis alright? He wouldn't tell me exactly what happened. He seemed rather cagey about it afterwards and said you and Speaker were handling it.” “He's fine. Listen, lass, perhaps – …” I glanced around for someone else to dump a chatty Initiate on for the time being. Mathieu was still talking with Lucien and likely would be for a time longer. “ … perhaps ye should go help in the chapel, Vicente's there now. He could tell ye what to expect tonight.” “Okay, brother!” “Silencer,” I corrected. “Oops! Sorry, I’m so used to talking to Mathieu,” she laughed, embarrassed. “S’fine.” Antoinetta lingered a moment, expecting me to say something further, so I made a shooing motion. “Off ye go, then.” Off she went, and I slunk into a lonely corner. tell us about day 31 😌

lol so i guess you may have noticed that it may have perhaps resembled a Whumptober prompt? i never actually wrote/posted the last prompt i was responsible for for that month of prompts, but that doesn't mean i don't have a 5k+ word draft for it in my WIPs!!

i started and restarted on that prompt about 4 times until i landed on something i was pleased with. hopefully once i'm done with my RCSS, i can finish that prompt and all will be well with the world.

this fic borrows its premise from an old max/furiosa fic by @sacrificethemtothesquid that i am obsessed with, called Glow. basically, jyn and cassian are on a mission and Cass comes down with radiation poisoning. pain ensues.

“Was it something you ate, you think?” she postulates. He shakes his head, shoulders heaving under his coat. Her blood stops in her veins when he finally looks at her. His eyes are wide and wild, his face pale and strange-angled in the odd, bloody light of Tilo’s brilliant sunset. He looks ghostly, haunted, an animal caught in a trap. “The parts—“ he pants, something in his voice breaking in fear. “You didn’t— you didn’t go near them…?” Jyn hesitates, shakes her head. First in confusion but morphing quickly into hasty confirmation as the fear in his face takes on an edge. She had not touched the half-rusted, nearly unrecognizable pile of parts they had traded for this morning. The man who had traded with them had claimed the parts were from some ruin of an outer-rim rock, now defunct and lost to knowledge. Old Republic and rare as kyber. Or something like that… Jyn hadn’t paid much attention. Cassian had handled the whole transaction (he had more patience for and much more experience in haggling) and she had hated every minute of the exchange. The queer look in the trader’s rheumy eyes, the swiftness of his acceptance of their offer (a stack of Jilib leather and a bag of local moonshine that could strip the paint off a speeder—certainly lowball barter). Jyn had tried to protest, but Cassian had insisted: these fledgling rebel cells they were here to infiltrate traded in scrap and salvage— the more foreign the better, to attract potential collectors and the deep pockets that came with them. Cassian had assured her it was, indeed, a scam as they left, but they could still promisingly trick any rebel leaders for long enough to get what information and recruits they needed before getting the hell off world. “Jyn,” Cassian prompts sharply, eyes growing wider, a bit wilder, as he looked her up and down. “No,” she finally croaks and Cassian collapses in relief on the runner board. “But, Cassian.. what does that have to do—“ He shakes his head, waves a stalling hand so he can cough and sputter between his knees again. Jyn’s very bones are tingling with heightened awareness. She’s never quite seen him this scared, this… dire. Cassian Andor is a constant, a non-variable. Steady, reliable, a force of nature that couldn’t be stopped or diverted. But here he is, her Cassian, cut off at the knees and spilling his guts into the blowing sands of a foreign planet. Update on Dramione WIP

The Dramione WIP has a name! It will be called Mercy Show to Me. I'm working on first drafts of the final two chapters, which should be finished by the end of this coming weekend. Writing/Art Update 4.16.2024

I know I said I wasn't going to do these for a bit, but I felt like doing one. It's not good news, mostly I just want to complain because I'm very frustrated. I *want* to write, but my brain is just very, very empty and I hate it. I've been working on my ChadIshi story for what feels like a million years. It's not even very good. It's about 1500 words at the moment. I write about 3 sentences per day on it. I have no idea how to end it. All that being said, I would like to *finish* it, rather than just let it sit in my WIPs for 3 years, but I'm also worried that I am just sort of letting it drag on because I don't know what to write after that, either.

Candidate #1 is my Rukia-and-Renji-dirtbag-teens-in-Inuzuri fic, which I love to death and I *hope* that if I work on it, I might be able to make some progress on it. It's 11k words already (some are trash, I'm sure) but it's Most of a Fanfic and it might be kind cool to publish it after Damage History.

I've also been trying to brainstorm the next two parts of Heart is a Muscle. My plan had been for the next part to be an epistolary fanfic where Rukia and Byakuya have to go on a mission together and Renji gets left home with his still-healing arm. However, right at the beginning of Damage History, there's mention of Rukia and Renji going to some dreadful seafood festival at the train museum in East Rukongai. I was originally going to put that in as an epilogue, but then there was something else I wanted to do for the epilogue, and I told myself that it would be kinda fun to have a little short chapter about Rukia and Renji Having a Nice One, For a Change. The problem is, I don't know how to write that. I've spent the last two weeks trying to brainstorm ideas and my brain keeps going "maybe they could solve a murder mystery?" Don't get me wrong, the only thing that is keeping me from turning this into a murder mystery is the lurking Byakuya and Rukia Solve a Murder Mystery that the next one is gonna be (it's probably not actually going to be a murder mystery, but that's the vibe). I just want to write some cute little short hijinks thing and I am too dumb to come up with anything! I even read an entire Wodehouse book, trying to spur the old noggin to churning out a fruity idea or two, but the ideas were not forthcoming, not even a rummy one.

The other option is that I know I am supposed to get back to a little in love eventually, and I was kind of putting it off, because I didn't want it to get caught in my annual summer doldrums, but maybe I should just go for it.

Anyway! I wish I had ideas!! I have no ideas!!

(also, it's is very hard for me to write when I am on a Posting Schedule, I am very aware of this, and I am pretending like it's not true even tho I know this is probably the main issue)

You could be my luck, with 394 Kudos. REALLY? Oh well that's a discovery lol. Dick gets pollened and hides in Slade's safehouse because it's the closest he can get to, hoping Slade isn't home. Slade is in fact right there.

Darling Little Things, with 355 kudos. Also quite the surprise! Omegaverse in which Dick is pregnant with Slade's pup, but hasn't told him out of fear Slade wouldn't want them. Everything goes surprisingly well.

Served Cold, with 338 kudos. This one was expected since it's more than a single chapter and was a pretty anticipated entry of my Sladick series. Slade takes his revenge on a hit that Dick ruined.

lie in your bed the way you made it, with 327 kudos. LMAO. I love this fic. It has to be one of the filthiest I've ever written. A pwp in which Dick took a blow intended for one of Slade's marks, and not wanting him to die, Slade has to take care of his sorry ass.

Slade's lucky day, with 301 kudos. My very first Sladick fanfic! Slade is on a mission in Montenegro, and Dick is too. They end up accidentally and less accidentally helping each other, with some strings attached.

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Always. Fandom remains stagnant without interaction, and that's on writers too, not just on readers. Also if I post a fic (which doesn't happen often compared to how many fics I write) is because I want to talk about it with other people!

What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Among those I posted on AO3, probably Losing Game. It's an Eobarryiris fic, and I imagined a potential way it could go well but it ends on a very angsty note (it's a timeloop situation in which they have no idea how to break it, and one of them keeps dying in every cycle so they keep resetting it because they can't let him go).

What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? It has to be Darling Little Things, it ends on a very fluffy note.

Do you get hate on your fic? Not regularly but it happened. What hate gets there is promptly deleted, trolls are not to be fed.

What’s your writing weaknesses? Being that I'm not a native English speaker, I have a hard time writing in "styles" which penalizes the dialogues. I have no idea how to show that a character is a certain English speaking nationality, how to give them dialectic quirks, how to make them speak in an old fashioned way. I can in my native language though, and it frustrates me so much not to be able to "translate it".

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? If it's just a small line it's okay, it helps the immersion. If it's entire dialogues I don't see why, people don't understand it what's the point.

First fandom you wrote for? Possibly Spyro Gateway to Glimmer when I was 6 lmao.

Favourite fic you’ve ever written? Again strictly speaking for the Zero_Ducks account, I think it's Elegia. It's been almost two years but it holds the test of time, the emotions still feel very raw and the smut is still good (it's that one time Dick's suicidal behavior after Jason's death went a bit overboard, and Slade decided to do something about it whether Dick liked it or not).

ok so i have 7 tabs open and all of them are either new chapters or unpublished wips but here is the first sentence of the first tab - and a second sentence for a little bit more context lol:

'Watto has wings, a set that isn’t much to look at but that he’s rather proud of showing off anyway. And because Watto has wings, little Ani cannot, lest he grow up and get ideas.'

ok so i don't keep my deleted sentences or paragraphs - they are gone with the wind as soon as i don't like them lol BUT i can definitely talk about one of my first draft ideas for a fic that i didn't end up writing which i've definitely talked about before. in foolproof foolhardy, when i started writing what would become the last 2 chapters and the final arc of the story, i was totally sold on the idea that when they're in the ship on the way to their mission they would end up fucking ('to get it out of their system') as a one-time thing and afterwards they can just pretend they don't care about each other at all and the sex would be very angry and bitter except for the moments where they couldn't help but betray their real feelings (aka master skywalker caresses obi-wan's face, obi-wan kisses his pulse, etc etc)

and then during the mission the prince of the planet would be interested in obi-wan in a way that would prove to be Perilous (because obi-wan tries to pretend he can just go back to having fun and sleeping around and so he courts the prince's attention, but it turns out that actually he doesn't want to do that anymore because now he knows how anakin would hold him)

and anakin would do something very dramatic like start a full on war with the planet and or threaten assassination of the prince because hes a jealous lil guy and will use obi-wan's discomfort as cover for his actions without examining the root of the emotions which is in fact love (but twisted)

and then they fuck AGAIN and finally actually talk it all out (but it was already such a long story and that whole mission arc seemed needlessly dramatic when tensions were already high, so they just talked it out the first time they fucked on the ship, which i'm happy with)

30. share a fic you’re especially proud of

ooo interesting question! i definitely feel various amounts of proud of all my fics because of who i was and what i was trying out when i was writing each of them, but i think i'm especially proud of let my love be the knife that implicates me aka the rots compliant fic where obi-wan raises luke on tatooine alone and does as good of a job as he knows how. i just really like the concept of it - where obi-wan deals with his grief by talking about the agony and joy of loving anakin, luke's father, while also still so fresh off of mustafar and the fall of the Jedi, knowing he can only talk about this now because when luke is old enough to remember he shouldn't bear the weight of his secrets....only for luke to remember not the words themselves (about the empire, about sidious, about anakin's betrayal) but the emotion behind them, which was almost always love.

it's a sad fic but it's not so sad that i think it's unreadable and i really am so proud of a lot of the phrases and the pacing of it! mostly because i almost always avoid anything even resembling 'canon compliant' and so this was a really big moment for me lol
