It's always funny to me when in an lu fic the chain is offered bananas and don't accept them. Like, you're offering these high energy adventures free food?? Fruit they'll have never even heard of before??? A ridiculously expensive imported good at best?? AND it boosts your attack?

Not ONE of these idiots would ever turn down something new and interesting to eat at least once. They'd be all over those bananas and immediately get dubbed yiga and I'm honestly surprised no one has used it in a fic yet 🤭

Turns out some of them weren't #which just makes the localization funnier #Like. Grain of salt because I don't speak Japanese and rely on machine translations and friends who speak the language #But the really sus “receiving end” line was originally just. “Haha it'd be nice to be the one getting escorted for once :)”#I'm sure it's not an entirely indulgent translation but. Phrasing!!!#then there's the infamous(?) “I seek to have a relationship with everyone here!” where in JP it's clearer that by “everyone”#Orion means “every woman” and not literally “everyone”#bc JP Elly says “In your case won't just any woman do?” while in EN she just calls him shameless LOL #there's a few more #like the scene where Orion says “You're the first man I've ever wanted to protect” and Euden says “damn bro I thought you weren't gay?”#and he responds calmly like “You really are slow when it comes to these matters! I'm just saying you're more charming than you know.”#it's a letdown but it's kinda coy #meanwhile since JP has some extra animations #namely Orion jumping in shock and making a cringing face before responding #the No Homo vibe is off the charts 😭😭😭#and then theres that xmas seasonal line that's about picking up women ...when voices are set to JP.#The EN line is about being broke. For some reason.#But even with all that it's not like there's no gay subtext in JP Orion's dialogue. It's just deeply funny how the EN localizers went #Yup. This one. Bisexual. I MISSED THAT IZ AND ED SAID “LOVE” LIKE HELLO #but. but anyway. but. but once it was revealed that This Is All In Ed's Head. that hornigold is ed and everything is ed. man. god.#it's cold and wet and dark (ed likes warmth). ed was washed up on the shore with his face full of sand but THEN he got rescued by someone #who he hated and associated with all the pain and violence AND who then force-fed him soup so he could get better. who had pretty pieces of #glass hanging from his tent (there's no sun but the decoration itself is a promise of a pretty sighs when the rays of the sun hit #just right--) AND you can't forget the sandals. and the play-acting and aoughhhh EEEDDDDDDDD god he's so good HE'S SO GOOD #i dont think i should touch the delightful revenge scenes because they're dark as fuck and idk if the files i have are hq enough #to survive the becurvening. BUT. ed my love!!! i hope this is not where your insanities end

I was just thinking what a cool job this might be.. what if you were just the person who makes little still images of cute animal figurines doing various activities to post on social media...? like.. show up to work and just spend the whole day like "hmm... this table should be placed to the left a little.. let me set this miniature bagel down in this way... this tiny rabbit should be wearing a scarf", setting the backgrounds, the lighting, etc. ... dream job perhaps lol...

#I'm sure it probably doesnt pay much lol #but.. maybe in some ideal world..#with my health and mental conditions and level of functioning there are VERY few Jobs I could actually EVER manage aside from #just being self employed and being able to set my own hours somehow etc... But every once in a while I come across something like this #and it's like... hrmm.... Yes... perhaps if I could align myself in this hyper specific scenario under hyper specific conditions in a #precise and predictable way and everything worked out perfectly and I had all the accomodations I might need.. maybe I could #do THAT thing then .. lol #Not just generally a 'social media manager' or something. I think that would drive me into the throes of madness #but SPECIFICALLY 'person who makes the images for the calico critters social media' and also #the place i have to go to do that is either my home or within walking distance of my home and also i rarely have to interact #with others aside from the posts probably going through some approval process and initial ideas where they tell me what #type of scene to make and also i somehow make $90.000 a year doing this for only 4 days a week with frequent sick breaks #dreamy sigh and so on and so forth and such and so on #ANYWAY........#the idea of meticulously placing little pastries and miniature crayons and stuff around all day until the scene is perfectly crafted.. SO #SO so appealing to me... like designing environments in the sims except it's real and tangible.. And also imagine having access #to the FULL library of miniature items. to me that would be just as good as owning them #Like.. I get to use them and make little scenes with them and hold them and stare at them and everything except also #they're all kept at work so I don't have boxes of clutter filling home.#unlimited access to every little miniature food ever crafted yet none of the downsides (purchase cost and storage)#etc. etc. ANYWAY ...#Chuckling confidently as I add this onto the 'List Of ''Real'' Jobs I Could Do' which is just a notebook sheet of paper with only like 5 #other similarly unlikely hyperspecific scenarios scribbled down

maybe it's to maintain a sense of tension & turmoil that would eventually reach an explosive peak, a sense of tug-of-war, a back-and-forth to hammer home the ideals they want to deliver and for the viewers to chew on, but although these arguments regarding hiroshi & his stance as a man torn between his loyalty for his country & the loyalty for his Filipino friends and lover is of course important, how they write these scenes & the points they present from this week alone is getting too repetitive...? literally the argument scenes from last night & tonight between adelina & hiroshi is basically the same; the ideas were the same, the dynamics were the same: the aggressive, radical adelina, bristling rage and fear over the injustices she's seen thus far, and the cautious, inspiriting hiroshi, all hopefulness and reassurance one moment as a lover, defensiveness and sternness as a japanese soldier in another. this debate will be ever-present ofc, it is one of the series' biggest conflicts, but it is unfortunately so easy to tell when it is a.) being pulled up as a main topic to move the plot along / be a necessary conflict for character development/introspection / be the conflict to deliver the morals & messages the writers want to send to their viewers, or b.) when it is being pulled up only for the drama and filler to pass the time. like watching the characters sit down to argue for 10 minutes, do other things for the plot for 2 minutes, then sit down again to argue for the next 20 minutes. lol.

#lots of things i wish they would soon improve but this 1 bothered me tonight..stopped watching halfway thru #these scenes would be like excellent breaks for when we need to take a breather to digest what's been going on #but at the slow pace they've set it it's just...nothing's been going on since like...4 days ago #except for eduardo's plot #it's just arguments..everywhere....all the time....over the same repetitive things #no progress nothing new to chew on despite there being drastic changes to their situation...? same vibes from the time they weren't occupie #yet lol. same dynamics mostly #only new points of debate is regarding hiroshi & his country vs friends conflict #& carmela being desperate to go back to comfort & luxury vs her family standing as firm as they could against the occupation #ahhh i am sooo not eloquent enough to express my full thoughts but like!!! fellow viewers if y'all r here u understand me right lmfoskadhsg #finding it hard to criticize bc i'm trying to make sense of where they r coming from #a.) seeing as unlike mcai this is a complete original story it's hard to see what direction they'd like to take it to #b.) fil shows really find it hard to break away from their normal formulas of family dramas & bastard children & love triangles :'))))#god the opportunity to tell a refreshing diff story but this is like gma show 67627627th but set in the japanese era....then mixed with 50%#of the mcai show feel #the editing the visuals the acting = good. 60% of the story line = can be compared to the hundreds of gma shows we've seen be4 #anywy going off on a tangent...#c.) i can understand the slow pacing as them trying to establish the settings & the feel of that era so that the more intense tragedies-#later on would hit harder #but again. few scenes feel like they're dragging on for too long. some scenes & themes r too repetitive #need to see something differenttt something fresh something developing. something moving & feeling & connecting w/the audience #need to see more of the Philippines & the Filipino people in the 40s!! not the same afternoon prime drama shot in intramuros #need to see their messages staring into our souls instead of just being words uttered in tears #all this to say....flop era this week tbh sorry #EXCEPT FOR MAX COLLINS & HER LIKE. 3 MINS SCREEN TIME.
