"Lando, great qualifying for you today." The interviewer spoke whilst Lando adjusted the microphone in front of him. "It seems you had a great summer break, and it helped you recharge for the rest of the season, we hope. The internet was crazy when they saw pictures of you," Lando laughed nervously, as he knew what was about to be said.

"Tell us, how was summer break. We of course know what happened, but what did you feel was good about the break?"

"Er, yeah." Lando adjusted his cap. "I had an amazing break, got to see the family. And my idol." The blush was recognizable on the Papaya driver. "Y/N L/N. I went to her concert in the UK, and it was an enjoyable moment." Lando knew if he went further, he would just ramble on and on about Y/N.

"But, did you get to interact with her?" This was the question that made the British's smile falter.

"No, I did not, unfortunately." If one dream (other than being in Formula One and winning a WDC) would to come true, it would be to even interact with you. You were his idol, the person he grew up listening to. From when you were thirteen and releasing country songs, changing to pop, and to this day he was forever your number one supporter. No other person would be able to change his love for you.

"I actually made a friendship bracelet with my phone number on it, and another one with the letters L, N and my racing number. Just to keep to myself. The one with my number was for me to trade with her." Lando chuckled. "I know she probably doesn't speak to people before or after the concert. I mean, singing for three hours-you have to save every ounce of your voice for that. At the time, I took it personally. But now, I got to understand."

"And if you were to say something to her right now, what would you say?" The interviewer asked again.

"Um..." Lando thought about his words carefully. "That she's my absolute daylight. And I hope one day she comes to a race."

"Thank you, Lando." The interviewer said, before Lando was off the camera and another driver took over.

Another interview with Teen Vogue you were currently attending. It was a video for "Answering Fan Questions". The interview was going smoothly, until you got to a question that almost made you giggle.

How did you end up attending the Dutch Grand Prix this year? You laughed lightly, unable to hide the small blush appearing over your nose and cheeks.

"Yeah, I had the opportunity to attend a Formula One Race this year. It was very fun."

Did you know one of the drivers attended one of your concerts? One of the team members from the magazine asked behind the camera.

"Two drivers," you corrected before trying to divert the answer back to the initial question. "And yes I did know of their attendance. I didn't at the time of the concert, but when I did, I got a message from another driver. Max Verstappen." You hid your face in between your hands because you knew you were about to look like a bloated tomato.

"Um, yeah--and he messages me on Instagram. He's like 'Y/N' and 'please answer me', and sent about ten messages before I noticed the messages. So I text back and I say 'oh hi'," you mimicked a high pitch voice. "And he ends up telling me how devastated Lando was that he didn't get to talk to me. So because he, and the rest of the grid, were absolutely annoyed about Lando talking about me, he invited me to the Dutch Grand Prix, because it was also his home race." The smile couldn't be stopped from spreading on your face. "And of course I'm sure the world of F1 saw how Max and Lando reacted. One fell and the other was crying," you laughed.

"But yeah, it started as a favor to his mate. And now we're all a tight circle. I think I have discovered my found family."

First off, this theory isn't mine, but from a reddit user in a 2021 post, Most I'm doing is bringing this up to you guys in a more ""condensed way"". (I finished and I realized I just made it longer fuck me)

We know Jimmy has a habit of saving songs for later releases, like with YRTA and IF. But I don’t think Hopeless is a track that was made 4 or 6 years ago for the album. I actually think it’s from about 20 years before Bad Choices Made Easy (2010), and it's an 89-90's song and here’s why

1-Jimmy's voice and singing style belong more to the PINK /Tight era than the HIL or even YRTA era

Jimmy's voice at 40 is deeper and more mature than when he was 20, along with a different singing style.

I'll leave a comparison of Eat Those Words (2013), Panty Shot (1997), Pussy all night (1998) and finally Hopeless (circa 1989).

Now, listen to the beginning of Hopeless again. Do you recognize three different voices? It seems like Andrew starts with the 'Here we go, break it down' part James says 'No bass, no synth, just da beats' in a peppy voice and sings 'I met this girl and she was so fine,' and then Steve delivers the 'I've traveled far, I've met the girlies' part (?) or maybe it's the 'I love 'em and leave 'em! I shove 'em and heave 'em' line. (To be honest, I'm not really familiar with Steve's voice u_u).

On top of that, look who is credited in the Thank you section of Bad Choices made easy (scan by Cain @tghtr )

The original poster said that Andrew Pascal is credited here, but not in the rest of the thank you sections of MSI albums, I don't have MSI's whole discography to check their Thank you sections, but for people that do, I encourage to check this up yourselves!

3-They don't sound like they're in a studio:

You can clearly hear a reverb at the beginning of the song because it doesn’t seem like they’re in a studio, but rather in an empty room. It's not a reverb done digitally. This could be because it was just a casual recording, something you’d record on a cassette tape recorder. All 1989 recordings of Jimmy are put under the category of "sound cassette"

Considering this, there are high chances that Hopeless is the EARLIEST RECORD of Jimmy Urine singing, being 1989, even before Pink. Could also not be 1989 if Andrew was still around making beats with Jimmy but weren't copyrighted in the site, James Nemo is still registered in max 1993. But the songs where Andrew is included are max 1989.

Jimmy said multiple times that he re-uses old songs if they sound good to him. So this wouldn't be new, but still fascinating.

Jimin really is the new BTS. Actually no, he's the old BTS. Jungkook is new BTS, in the sense that he's a perfect representation of everything that went wrong with BTS starting with Dynamite (and he's actually worse). But Jimin is that old BTS that made people fans in the first place. Cause no one became a fan because of the english songs. Yes, people discovered the group through those songs since they were playing everywhere, but all that did was introduce people to BTS and make them check what else they had to offer. And what they had to offer was what made people fans. If the rest of BTS's music was the same as the english trilogy people wouldn't have stuck around.

Armys have this thing where they pretend like someone liking BTS but not liking most of the members as soloists is a crazy, unfathomable thing. But as someone who likes BTS as a group and, despite being continously uninterested, continues to give the members at least a few listens whenever they released something, I can tell you that what BTS offers with their music and performances is not being offered by any other member expect Jimin. There's definitely pieces of the group in all their individual carrers, but it's either not enough or it's not the good pieces (like with Jungkook).

Cause what do people love about BTS? It's their songs, those songs that were a good balance of being people's taste (so more pop leaning or if a different genre than at least something exciting) while still being of good quality and having enough depth for fans that like thinking about and discussing the meaning of songs. It's also their performances of those songs (which, of course, first requires having those good songs), is having full intricate choreographies and a lot of energy on stage.

When you think of all of that – easy to like but not basic and shallow songs with impressive performances – then what members of the group are offering that? Go down the list, one through seven, and tell me if any other member expect for Jimin has all that? I'm not asking if any other members has something good to offer, I'm asking if they have the specific things that made fans became fans in the first place. Let's see:

Rapline: Armys aren't rap fans. Rap enjoyers? Maybe. But rap fans? No. They like rap enough to have a few verses of it every song, but not enough for it to be the whole songs, the whole album. And the attempts rapline have made with genres other than rap have somehow been even less armys's taste. Their performances are also lacking. It's fine if you wanna see someone just rap, but armys want dancing too. J-hope really could've had something here but for some reason he refuses to actually dance to his solo songs.

Jin: Now, to be fair, we haven't really seen what he has to offer as a soloist, so he could surprise me. But is he likely to? Probably not. He'll probably have an album made up of mostly ballads and no dancing.

Taehyung: His music is boring. I'm sorry, but even his fans lowkey don't care about it. Also, they can scream all they want about him being a danceline member but I have yet to see him actually make use of that position. Taehyung's appeal is his looks and that's all.

Jungkook: Mister Dynamite himself.

Continuing with the rest of my accidently sent incomplete ask. I think I was talking about Jungkook? He's doing what BTS was doing with the english songs. That stuff is definitely popular I'll admit, but does it make for a good foundation for a whole carrer? Cause BTS could get aware with it since they already had that foundation, but Jungkook doesn't. You can't have your entire discography be Dynamites, Butters and, god forbid, PTD's. Fans are gonna get sick of it eventually. I mean armys already did after PTD, three songs in and they were ready for it to be over and for BTS to go back to how they used to be before 2020. Jungkook is currently getting away with it because it's just one solo album that gives armys the records they like while they wait for BTS (what they're actually fans of) to come back. But if he wants an actual solo carrer, he's gonna have to step up eventually. So as you can see. None of them are really offering what fans want. So why should people who became fans of BTS for those specific reasons be forced to be fans of the other members as soloists when they're not giving them what they want. I'm not a fan of people out of obligation, I'm a fan because I genuinely enjoy things. And Jimin is the only one whose solo work I genuinely enjoy. Sorry not sorry 🤷

For the last couple weeks I've been drawing logos / designs for local-ish (mostly NJ, some PA and NY) bands as warmups in the morning. Here's what I've come up with! Massive post below the break explaining each logo + where to find each band and listen to their music.

Teenage Halloween- a staple of New Jersey basements for probably about a decade now and finally getting wider recognition in the last couple years. Pop punk / power pop with a killer horn section. First time I saw them was in New Brunswick playing with Walter Etc. and Blowout. They played a killer cover "Build Me Up Buttercup" and my wife got a black eye in the pit. Recommended tracks: "Brain Song," "666," "Clarity." Their first EP is on a separate bandcamp page btw, check it out here it's great.

Sweet Pill - They will call themselves a Philly band but in my heart they'll always be from Glassboro. Definitely one of the more recognizable names on this list. Emo revival - early stuff is more twinkly, more recent stuff is heavier. All of it's great. Recommended tracks "Nephew," "High Hopes."

Shark Club - Central Jersey's finest. I'm very biased because I actually know these dudes and they did the music for my wedding. Some of the best pop punk you'll hear and the nicest people you'll meet. Recommended tracks: "Game Theory," "Bill Murray," "Heavens to Betsy."

Rest Ashore - My favorite band for the last (oh God I'm old now) eight years. From gut-wrenching emo ballads to virtuoso math-rock instrumentals they do it all. One time I got to sing vocals on "Lucy's Theme" at a house show- thank you Erica! Recommended tracks: "Hjarta," "Chinese Opera," "Devotion," "Soyuz Sweetheart." Too many bangers to name honestly, just deep dive their discography.

Morus Alba - First band I ever went to see at a house show and still one of my absolute favorites. Their music feels like the bridge between the best pitchfork, /mu/ alt rock bands and high energy basement emo. I mean that as a compliment and I hope it comes off as one lol. I should note that since 2019 Morus Alba has morphed from a band into an experimental hip-hop project so later releases sound radically different and basically disconnected from the earlier stuff. Also my favorite release from them, Live at Isabelle's, has been scrubbed from the internet but if you'd like the files just email me. Recommended tracks: "Skyscraper," "Human Resources," "The Goodnight Waltz."

Have a Good Season - another Jersey mainstay that's still going strong. Emo revival in their earlier releases, now with more 70s power pop influences in their newer stuff. See them live, they put on a fantastic show and usually play some great covers in addition to their original music. HaGS guys if you're reading this, please put your version of "Since You've Been Gone" online, I'm begging you. Recommended tracks: "Joseph / Shel Silverstein," (you have to listen to them together for the drop, so good) , "Gum, "Gleaux / Scab." Also, frontman Nic Palermo interviewed me once.

Elephant Jake - If you see any of these bands live make it EJ, they put on such a damn good show. Electrifying indie punk from the Empire State. Recommended tracks: "F.D.C." "Sarah Moyer," "Goodness to Honest," and of course you gotta learn "Sebastien Bauer" for the singalongs.

Blind Lion - Sadly one of the greats that we lost along the way. Defunct since about 2017. I only got to see them once but it was a great performance. Alongside their own stuff they played some killer covers of "Bad Moon Rising" and "Moonage Daydream." I had trouble doing a logo design for them because I actually really like the composition, if not the "Ed Hardy-ness," of their existing logo so what you see here are two separate attempts, neither of which feels entirely satisfying to me. Frontperson Larry Flately currently plays in Nematode and also handled production of Bradley Gardens joke hiphop group The Breakfast Boiz under the moniker "DJ Ova EZ." Recommended tracks: "Brumous," "Dinner."

Fighting Seasons - A band that I sadly found out about too late (via a sticker under the bridge in my town which has since been painted over). 2010s pop punk that packs a helluva punch, especially considering that I'm pretty sure the members were high schoolers for most of the band's existence. I think some members may have gone on to form Sawce (FFO Chon, Polyphia, that type of music) but I can't remember where I read/heard that so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Recommended tracks: "Fighting Seasons," "Oil on Canvas"

Milkmen- Another fallen giant, officially disbanded in 2019. Like Morus Alba, they played the very first house show I attended and their few releases remain on constant rotation in my home. Used to put on a great show and were one of the bands I always thought would make it big until suddenly they weren't around anymore. Frontman Ben Thieberger contributed guitar and vocals to Covid quarantine project Kin if you're looking for a bit of an extra fix but beyond that I don't know what these guys are up to these days, sadly. Recommended tracks: "Ramus," "Johnny Dangerously," "how sieves catch breeze," "K.O.T.H."

Stand and Wave - New York (now Philly) pop punkers delivering instant dopamine hits with every track. Another great live act, see them with EJ if you can! They often play shows together. Recommended tracks: "Convos," "Mrs. Dash," "Splashton Kutcher," "Michael Collins."

My Chemical Romance - You know who they are. While I was drawing all these other logos I ran a poll on Patreon to decide which famous New Jersey band should also be graced with a drawing from me. MCR won the poll by a hefty margin so unfortunately you won't get to see me do an illegible black metal take on Hoboken's Yo La Tengo. I ended up doing two versions: the one with the halo is the first, the one with the bats was the second. I tried to do something kind of thin and elegant with the first one and I don't think it's terrible but I also wasn't quite satisfied with it. For the 2nd attempt I tried to lean into the kind of pulpy, almost horror punk aesthetic of early MCR and I think that one looks better even if it's less original.

A place he could probably never escape, not at least with your help. Gavi liked her music and always asked you questions to know more, so you told him the story and the messages behind each song.

You had also dedicated to him your favorite songs, those that reminded you of Gavi. The romantic ones. Slowly he had made the same for you, he dedicated his favorites songs from Taylor. When you had days off you would do karaoke and basically sing all her songs. When you felt more romantic, you would dance barefoot and kiss until you finished listening to her discography. By having a swiftie girlfriend, Gavi had also become one.

That’s how he surprised you with tickets to the concert, the Eras tour. You had thanked him, because you thought there was no chance you would be there. Being able to listen to Midnights, Evermore and Folklore for the first time live, and singing all those oldie Taylor songs was a wonderful experience you longed to live. You had even put on an outfit dedicated to your favorite album and your favorite era of Taylor.

You had stopped crying and when Taylor started singing Lover you looked at Gavi and the two approached, while he kissed you on the lips and told you that you were his favorite person. It was a special moment, where you were listening to the song and the lyrics that you dedicated to Gavi. Your boyfriend’s brown eyes watched you with adoration.

"Can we always be this close, forever and ever?" you sang the lyrics, stealing a kiss and feeling him smiling against your lips.

You were the person Gavi always loved, he'll always want to touch you and kiss you. He wasn't able to contain a smile around you. You were the love of his life, his lover.

Music headcanons for The Simpsons? Despite what we see in various episodes, like when Lisa had a Smiths phase, I'm curious to find out what you think the rest of the characters listen to during their free time. ALSO PLS INCLUDE YOUR OC I LOVE HER

I honestly don't have alot in terms of headcanons?

Skinner most definitely enjoys classical music, and probably listens to classic musical soundtracks from time to time (Doctor Dolittle 1967 is one we know about canonically, but I imagine he'd also be into stuff like Mary Poppins or Hello, Dolly, possibly even Annie Get Your Gun and Calamity Jane!). I like to think he listens to alot of 60s-70s pop/rock, Timothy by The Buoys is one we obviously know atleast Agnes listens to, but I think he'd also be into stuff like The Talking Heads (and he listens to their entire discography, not just the two songs everyone knows), Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones if he's feeling a little edgy (by his own standards), even Pink Floyd.

He's probably hardcore into Pink Floyd's The Wall but in secret and he has the DVD of the movie alongside the CD of the album stuffed somewhere in the very back of his bed.

That's about the only truly detailed headcanon I have.

Edna is canonically into the Beatles but I think she'd also enjoy the Beach Boys and Pink Floyd. Duran Duran (named after the main antagonist of Barbarella - a movie whose titular character she's cosplayed), Queen and Guns N' Roses might be bands she also enjoys. She's also not above enjoying the discographies of Lesley Gore, Carly Simon and Regina Spektor.

I think Chalmers would be into jazz (Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin etc) but besides that he's very superficially into Rock Classics™.

I think it would be really funny if Dr. Nick is a big fan of Elvis Presley given that he's based on Elvis' own personal doctor. "Oh yeah, I love Elvis! Shame what happened to him, if only his doctor knew how to prescribe medicine better."

Lionel Hutz! Massive fan of pop music of any era, and an even bigger fan of Pop Muzik by Factor M. Rip Hutz he would've been so into Chapelle Roan.

Frankie the Squealer..... Big ABBA fan energy. Probably watched the Mamma Mia movies. He also probably likes Rosemary Clooney.

Deco*27 Transform Album — Song Combinations

I have something interesting to share about Transform and the pop-up event for deco*27 that happened recently!

I'm aware that if you went to it and bought something you also received one of these (maybe 1 for each x amount of money spent?):

Now, I just thought they had the song name and picture on each 'vial', cool, whatever, fun freebie to get anyhow. BUT there's actually more going on here than I initially realised.

OH? What's that on there, two 'elements' of previous deco*27 songs? Ohhhhh. Ah. The theme of this album just suddenly made a LOT more sense. We are literally combining songs together here, no more "oh this sounds like the rest of his discography, boring!" No no no. None of that. We are doing deliberate experiments now my friend. Miku is a mad scientist and we get the pleasure of finding out which specific songs are in which specific vials.

I did not realized this, at the time, but I literally got introduced to deathgaze with their very first release... which was with their original line-up, which is also how I got to discover Hazuki and how I also got introduced to lynch. with their first release too :D

Dies Irae was released on 294036224052, in 2004 (the whole thing is worth listening ♥)

Dir en grey - Obscure

A fucking classic. I said in the previous entry that I originally didn't like dir, so this one came after I gave them another try. I spent my last year of high school listening to this song in a loop in between moi dix mois songs lol

Obscure was on Vulgar, released in 2003 (which also is still in my top dir album ! I also still think the original version is superior to the 2011 version, but that's me :3 )

GAZETTE - The $ocial riot machine$

Now, I gotta be honest, i happened to lose interest in gazette very fast, as they are one of these bands that the visual is more interesting than the music to me. Today, I think they are a good base to get into visual kei, they were back in 2004 too, even if they were babies :D But between 2004 and 06, I was also looking for heavier faster songs, and this song here scratched that itch (ngl it surfed on the wave pop is dead created lmao)

The social riot machines was found on the album Disorder, released in 2004

MUCC - 我、在ルベキ場所 (ware, arubeki basho)

HAAAA this song is still so very effective on me. Mucc went all over the place, and I like some of their songs from all their eras, but I think their early 2000's is my favourite. Actually I think ware arubeki basho might be my favourite mucc song. Anyway you should listen to mucc ! Mucc is also the opposite of band like the gazette, to me, cause i spent a loooooooong time listening to them without even knowing what they looked like except for Yukke lol (and even then, if he hadn't his blond bowl cut............)

And I just learned that ware, arubeki basho was a single released in 2003, before being on 是空 (zekuu), later that year.

(wow i had not watched that in.................. 20 years lmao)

そろばん (soroban) - -RAM-

Soroban is a band only me knows...... ok no lol. But i knew them before Yumehito went to Ayabie (two thumbs down tbh) I also spent the longest time with only that song from them because, in 2004, I didn't realize how fucking indie visual kei was and I wanted more soroban, but all I got is that soroban is the japanese word for an abacus... i ended up finding their (really short) discography years later and was almost disappointed that -ram- is their only song sounding like that (the rest is good too, actually, just less heavy and more kawaii i guess)

-ram- was the A-side of the -RAM- / オレンジ手紙 初回限定盤 (-RAM- / orange tegami) single, released in 2004 (orange tegami is also a very good song !!)

being a lover of music colonizes more of my personality every year, but i do not claim to have refined taste. still, cataloguing my musical life for the past year appeals, so -

albums that defined my 2024

the grandma eps by the front bottoms: on my drive to visit my family for christmas 2023, i fully unlocked my obsession with the front bottoms. in the song "the plan (fuck jobs)", the emotional crescendo is the following line: when my mind is uncertain, my body decides. listening to this chanted at me somewhere in the middle of the mind-numbingly long state of pennsylvania after the sun had already set and i was desperate to stand out of my car seat altered my brain chemistry permanently.

before this moment, i'd appreciated a number of tfb albums. the majority of them even! after this moment, though, every last song in their catalogue was a revelation. i love this band not just as art, but as a confidant and kindred spirit. every time i declare a band to be my favorite, my relationship with that band seems to run its course shortly thereafter. the front bottoms, though, the front bottoms are forever.

anyway, when i got back home in the new year, i downloaded the grandma eps and took my time appreciating each of them in turn. like the rest of the front bottoms' albums, there's not a single song i feel dispassionate about. many times throughout the year, i felt the decisive need to put on ann or theresa and my first time seeing tfb live was for the 10 year celebration of rose. if any album defined my 2024, it was this trio of eps. on those merits alone, 2024 was a good year.

the window (2023) by ratboys: if i'm being honest, though i enjoy this album quite a bit, it makes this list primarily thanks to its title track, which is about the writer's grandparents saying goodbye to each other on opposite sides of a window thanks to covid. it's about processing death and celebrating life. i choke up literally every time i listen to it, and being so profoundly touched by a piece of art is a gift i do not take for granted. hence this album's place on this list.

also, the instrumental break in "black earth, wi" fucks.

if i can't have love, i want power (2021) by halsey: i got into halsey this year because of a todd in the shadows tweet about tortured poets department! i would say it was fortuitous since she released a new album, but i have yet to properly listen to that album. out of the rest of her discography, though, this one wins out as my favorite. i think it has something to do with the way its disillusionment has a certain maturity. or the way the world of the album feels familiar, yet older and more magic than our own. there's atmosphere and bitterness and bops. literally, what more could i ask for?

big ideas (2024) by remi wolf: a grower! i wasn't especially taken with this one when it was first released in may, then by september, i craved big ideas. it hit me out of nowhere and then dogged me through the end of the year. my favorite release of 2024 by a wide margin.

everything seems like yesterday (2020) by the frights: what is it about music from the pandemic* that makes it seep so deep into my brain? there's a certain quality to the melancholy that hits right and hasn't stopped hitting right.

anyway, this was not the first album i listened to by the frights - that honor goes to hypochondriac (2018). and if hypochondriac (2018) hadn't gripped me instantly the way it did, i may have never listened to everything seems like yesterday (2020) and then i wouldn't have been haunted by everything seems like yesterday (2020) at the end of 2024 and then my 2024 wouldn't have held quite the same grey, introspective quality that it does in my mind. i don't want that. i'm glad my year included this messy, chilly album that never overstays its welcome.

*since this album was released in january, it's not actually from a world overshadowed by the pandemic. but in a more honest sense, it's absolutely a pandemic album. i will not be taking notes at this time.

the loneliest time (2022), tug of war (2008), and the loveliest time (2023) by carly rae jepsen: i had already been made an unwavering fan the year before, but in 2024, i cemented my status as a certified crj girlie. she is my pop icon to end all other pop icons. her every album carefully, thoughtfully, and generously lends effervescence and joy to my music listening life. peace and love on planet canada.

gnx (2024) by kendrick lamar: fucking around and becoming a more well-rounded appreciator of music. this is, i am embarrassed to say, the first rap album to which i've given my proper attention and i think it changed my life. i have this distinct memory of walking around the second floor of a barnes & noble listening to "reincarnated" for the first time the saturday after thanksgiving, and the verse where kendrick is in conversation with god literally took my breath away. it was an "oh. oh." moment with an entire genre of music to which i'd previously never opened myself up.

art is beautiful and it never stops giving.
